ਕਿਰਤ ਸੰਜੋਗੀ ਪਾਇਆ ਭਾਲਿ ॥ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਮਹਿ ਬਸੇ ਗੁਪਾਲ ॥
kirat sanjogee paa-i-aa bhaal. saaDhsangat meh basay gupaal.
God, the master of the universe dwells in the saintly company and if one is preordained based on past deeds, then He can be realized by searching in the holy company.
ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਦਾ ਰੱਖਿਅਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਿਛਲੇ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਸੰਜੋਗਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਢੂੰਢ ਕੇ ਲੱਭ ਲਈਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਗੁਰ ਮਿਲਿ ਆਏ ਤੁਮਰੈ ਦੁਆਰ ॥ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਦੇਹੁ ਮੁਰਾਰਿ ॥੪॥੧॥
gur mil aa-ay tumrai du-aar. jan naanak darsan dayh muraar. ||4||1||
O’ God! I, Your devotee Nanak, have come to Your door through the Guru’s teachings, please bless me with Your blessed vision. ||4||1||
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ ਮੈਂ, ਤੇਰਾ ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ, ਤੇਰੇ ਦਰ ਤੇ ਆਇਆ ਹਾਂ। ਆਪਣੇ ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਦੀਦਾਰ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ ॥੪॥੧॥

ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਜਨ ਕੀ ਸੋਭਾ ॥
parabh kee sayvaa jan kee sobhaa.
Devotional worship of God brings glory to His devotee,
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਭਗਤ ਦੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ (ਲੋਕ ਪਰਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ) ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ,
ਕਾਮ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਮਿਟੇ ਤਿਸੁ ਲੋਭਾ ॥
kaam kroDh mitay tis lobhaa.
and all his vices like lust, anger, and greed are wiped out.
ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਕਾਮ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਲੋਭ (ਆਦਿਕ ਵਿਕਾਰ) ਮਿਟ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਨਾਮੁ ਤੇਰਾ ਜਨ ਕੈ ਭੰਡਾਰਿ ॥
naam tayraa jan kai bhandaar.
O’ God! Your Name is the treasure of Your devotees.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ-ਧਨ ਤੇਰੇ ਭਗਤਾਂ ਦਾ ਖਜਾਨਾ ਹੈ l
ਗੁਨ ਗਾਵਹਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਦਰਸ ਪਿਆਰਿ ॥੧॥
gun gaavahi parabh daras pi-aar. ||1||
O God! yearning for Your blessed vision, Your devotees keep singing your praises. ||1||
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੇਰੇ ਭਗਤ ਤੇਰੇ ਦੀਦਾਰ ਦੀ ਤਾਂਘ ਵਿਚ ਤੇਰੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਂਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੧॥
ਤੁਮਰੀ ਭਗਤਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਤੁਮਹਿ ਜਨਾਈ ॥
tumree bhagat parabh tumeh janaa-ee.
O’ God, whom You have revealed the merits of Your devotional worship,
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਸਮਝਾਈ ਹੈ,
ਕਾਟਿ ਜੇਵਰੀ ਜਨ ਲੀਏ ਛਡਾਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
kaat jayvree jan lee-ay chhadaa-ee. ||1|| rahaa-o.
You have liberated those devotees from the love for Maya by cutting their worldly bonds. ||1||pause||
ਉਹਨਾਂ ਸੇਵਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਮੋਹ ਦੀ ਫਾਹੀ ਕੱਟ ਕੇ ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਤੋਂ) ਬਚਾਇਆ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਜੋ ਜਨੁ ਰਾਤਾ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੈ ਰੰਗਿ ॥
jo jan raataa parabh kai rang.
One who is imbued with God’s love,
ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ-ਰੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਰੰਗਿਆ ਗਿਆ,
ਤਿਨਿ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ॥
tin sukh paa-i-aa parabh kai sang.
has attained inner peace by remaining focused on God’s Name.
ਉਸ ਨੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ (ਚਰਨਾਂ) ਨਾਲ (ਲੱਗ ਕੇ) ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤਾ।
ਜਿਸੁ ਰਸੁ ਆਇਆ ਸੋਈ ਜਾਨੈ ॥
jis ras aa-i-aa so-ee jaanai.
Only that person, who has experienced bliss, knows about it,
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਆਨੰਦ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹੀ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਪੇਖਿ ਪੇਖਿ ਮਨ ਮਹਿ ਹੈਰਾਨੈ ॥੨॥
paykh paykh man meh hairaanai. ||2||
and he feels amazed in his mind by always visualizing God. ||2||
ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ) ਦਰਸਨ ਕਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ (ਆਪਣੇ) ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਵਾਹ ਵਾਹ ਕਰ ਉੱਠਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਸੋ ਸੁਖੀਆ ਸਭ ਤੇ ਊਤਮੁ ਸੋਇ ॥
so sukhee-aa sabh tay ootam so-ay.
That person becomes peaceful and is the most sublime of all,
ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸੁਖੀ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਹੋਰ ਸਭਨਾਂ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਸ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਟ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਜਾ ਕੈ ਹ੍ਰਿਦੈ ਵਸਿਆ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸੋਇ ॥
jaa kai hirdai vasi-aa parabh so-ay.
in whose heart is enshrined God.
ਜਿਸ (ਮਨੁੱਖ) ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਉਹ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਸੋਈ ਨਿਹਚਲੁ ਆਵੈ ਨ ਜਾਇ ॥
so-ee nihchal aavai na jaa-ay.
That person, remains spiritually stable and does not wander in reincarnation,
ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਦਾ ਅਡੋਲ ਚਿੱਤ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਕਦੇ ਭਟਕਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਫਿਰਦਾ,
ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੇ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਇ ॥੩॥
an-din parabh kay har gun gaa-ay. ||3||
who always sings praises of God.||3||
ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਂਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਤਾ ਕਉ ਕਰਹੁ ਸਗਲ ਨਮਸਕਾਰੁ ॥
taa ka-o karahu sagal namaskaar.
(O’ my friends), you should all bow to that person,
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਸਿਰ ਨਿਵਾਇਆ ਕਰੋ,
ਜਾ ਕੈ ਮਨਿ ਪੂਰਨੁ ਨਿਰੰਕਾਰੁ ॥
jaa kai man pooran nirankaar.
in whose mind is enshrined the perfect and formless God.
ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਮੋਹਿ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਦੇਵਾ ॥
kar kirpaa mohi thaakur dayvaa.
O’ the Master-God, the Divine light, bestow mercy on me,
ਹੇ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼-ਰੂਪ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੇਰੇ ਉਤੇ ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰ,
ਨਾਨਕੁ ਉਧਰੈ ਜਨ ਕੀ ਸੇਵਾ ॥੪॥੨॥
naanak uDhrai jan kee sayvaa. ||4||2||
so that Nanak is saved from vices by serving Your devotee. ||4||2||
(ਤੇਰਾ ਸੇਵਕ) ਨਾਨਕ ਤੇਰੇ ਭਗਤ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਵਿਚ ਰਹਿ ਕੇ (ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ) ਬਚਿਆ ਰਹੇ ॥੪॥੨

ਗੁਨ ਗਾਵਤ ਮਨਿ ਹੋਇ ਅਨੰਦ ॥
gun gaavat man ho-ay anand.
Spiritual bliss wells up in the mind by singing God’s praises.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਂਦਿਆਂ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਆਨੰਦ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਸਿਮਰਉ ਭਗਵੰਤ ॥
aath pahar simra-o bhagvant.
that is why I always always remember God with adoration.
(ਤਾਹੀਏਂ) ਮੈਂ ਅੱਠੇ ਪਹਰ ਭਗਵਾਨ (ਦਾ ਨਾਮ) ਸਿਮਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
ਜਾ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਕਲਮਲ ਜਾਹਿ ॥
jaa kai simran kalmal jaahi.
By lovingly remembering whom, all the sins vanish,
ਜਿਸ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ (ਸਾਰੇ) ਪਾਪ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ,
ਤਿਸੁ ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਹਮ ਚਰਨੀ ਪਾਹਿ ॥੧॥
tis gur kee ham charnee paahi. ||1||
I humbly remain focused on the immaculate Name of that Divine-Guru. ||1||
ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਗੁਰੂਦੇਵ ਦੀ (ਸਦਾ) ਚਰਨੀਂ ਲੱਗਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ॥੧॥
ਸੁਮਤਿ ਦੇਵਹੁ ਸੰਤ ਪਿਆਰੇ ॥
sumat dayvhu sant pi-aaray.
O’ my beloved Guru, bless me with such sublime wisdom,
ਹੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ! (ਮੈਨੂੰ) ਚੰਗੀ ਅਕਲ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼,
ਸਿਮਰਉ ਨਾਮੁ ਮੋਹਿ ਨਿਸਤਾਰੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
simra-o naam mohi nistaaray. ||1|| rahaa-o.
so that I may always remember God’s Name with adoration, which may ferry me across the world-ocean of vices. ||1||pause||
(ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ) ਮੈਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਦਾ ਰਹਾਂ (ਜਿਹੜਾ ਨਾਮ) ਮੈਨੂੰ (ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ) ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘਾ ਲਏ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਜਿਨਿ ਗੁਰਿ ਕਹਿਆ ਮਾਰਗੁ ਸੀਧਾ ॥
jin gur kahi-aa maarag seeDhaa.
The Guru who has shown a straight path for living righteously,
ਜਿਸ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ (ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦਾ) ਸਿੱਧਾ ਰਸਤਾ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਹੈ,
ਸਗਲ ਤਿਆਗਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਹਰਿ ਗੀਧਾ ॥
sagal ti-aag naam har geeDhaa.
and with whose grace, renouncing all other pleasures, one remains appeased with God’s Name.
ਅਤੇ ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਹੋਰ ਸਾਰੇ (ਮੋਹ) ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਚਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਤਿਸੁ ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਦਾ ਬਲਿ ਜਾਈਐ ॥
tis gur kai sadaa bal jaa-ee-ai.
We should always be dedicated to that Guru,
ਉਸ ਗੁਰੂ ਤੋਂ ਸਦਾ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ਜਾਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਹਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਨੁ ਜਿਸੁ ਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਪਾਈਐ ॥੨॥
har simran jis gur tay paa-ee-ai. ||2||
from whom we receive the gift of remembering God. ||2||
ਜਿਸ ਗੁਰੂ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਨ (ਦੀ ਦਾਤਿ) ਮਿਲਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਬੂਡਤ ਪ੍ਰਾਨੀ ਜਿਨਿ ਗੁਰਹਿ ਤਰਾਇਆ ॥
boodat paraanee jin gureh taraa-i-aa.
The Guru who ferried people, drowning in the world-ocean of vices, across it,
ਜਿਸ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ (ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਵਿਚ) ਡੁੱਬ ਰਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘਾਇਆ,
ਜਿਸੁ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਮੋਹੈ ਨਹੀ ਮਾਇਆ ॥
jis parsaad mohai nahee maa-i-aa.
by whose grace the worldly attachment doesn’t allure a person,
ਜਿਸ (ਗੁਰੂ) ਦੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਨਾਲ ਮਾਇਆ ਠੱਗ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦੀ,
ਹਲਤੁ ਪਲਤੁ ਜਿਨਿ ਗੁਰਹਿ ਸਵਾਰਿਆ ॥
halat palat jin gureh savaari-aa.
and the Guru who embellished them both here and hereafter,
ਜਿਸ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ (ਸਰਨ ਪਏ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ) ਇਹ ਲੋਕ ਅਤੇ ਪਰਲੋਕ ਸੋਹਣਾ ਬਣਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ,
ਤਿਸੁ ਗੁਰ ਊਪਰਿ ਸਦਾ ਹਉ ਵਾਰਿਆ ॥੩॥
tis gur oopar sadaa ha-o vaari-aa. ||3||
I am forever dedicated to that Guru. ||3||
ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਗੁਰੂ ਤੋਂ ਸਦਾ ਸਦਕੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ ॥੩॥
ਮਹਾ ਮੁਗਧ ਤੇ ਕੀਆ ਗਿਆਨੀ ॥
mahaa mugaDh tay kee-aa gi-aanee.
One who who transformed the most ignorant person into a spiritually wise,
(ਜਿਸ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ) ਮਹਾ ਮੂਰਖ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਤੋਂ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੀ ਸੂਝ ਵਾਲਾ ਬਣਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
ਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੇ ਕੀ ਅਕਥ ਕਹਾਨੀ ॥
gur pooray kee akath kahaanee.
the virtues of that perfect Divine-Guru are indescribable.
ਉਸ ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਪੂਰੇ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਬਿਆਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੀ।
ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰਦੇਵ ॥ ਵਡੈ ਭਾਗਿ ਪਾਈਐ ਹਰਿ ਸੇਵ ॥੪॥੩॥
paarbarahm naanak gurdayv. vadai bhaag paa-ee-ai har sayv. ||4||3||
O’ Nanak, the devotional worship of the Supreme Divine-Guru is received through great good fortune. ||4||3||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਗੁਰਦੇਵ-ਹਰੀ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ-ਭਗਤੀ ਵੱਡੀ ਕਿਸਮਤ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੪॥੩॥

ਸਗਲੇ ਦੂਖ ਮਿਟੇ ਸੁਖ ਦੀਏ ਅਪਨਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਾਇਆ ॥
saglay dookh mitay sukh dee-ay apnaa naam japaa-i-aa.
Those whom God inspired to lovingly remember His Name, He blessed them all comforts and inner peace and all their sorrows vanished.
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਣ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਨਾ ਕੀਤੀ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਸੁਖ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ ਦਿੱਤੇ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਦੁੱਖ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਗਏ।
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਅਪਨੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਲਾਏ ਸਗਲਾ ਦੁਰਤੁ ਮਿਟਾਇਆ ॥੧॥
kar kirpaa apnee sayvaa laa-ay saglaa durat mitaa-i-aa. ||1||
Bestowing mercy whom God united with His devotional service, He eradicated all the sins of that person. ||1||
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ) ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ (ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਆਪਣੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਵਿਚ ਜੋੜਿਆ, (ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਉਸ ਨੇ) ਸਾਰਾ ਪਾਪ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ॥੧॥
ਹਮ ਬਾਰਿਕ ਸਰਨਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਦਇਆਲ ॥
ham baarik saran parabh da-i-aal.
O’ the merciful God, we are Your children and are in Your refuge,
ਹੇ ਦਇਆ ਦੇ ਸੋਮੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਅਸੀਂ (ਜੀਵ ਤੇਰੇ) ਬੱਚੇ (ਤੇਰੀ) ਸਰਨ ਹਾਂ।
ਅਵਗਣ ਕਾਟਿ ਕੀਏ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਰਾਖਿ ਲੀਏ ਮੇਰੈ ਗੁਰ ਗੋਪਾਲਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
avgan kaat kee-ay parabh apunay raakh lee-ay mayrai gur gopaal. ||1|| rahaa-o.
Those whom my Divine-Guru, the Master of the world, saved from vices, He accepted them as His own by erasing all their demerits and faults. ||1||Pause||
ਧਰਤੀ ਦੇ ਰੱਖਿਅਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਕੀਤੀ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਔਗੁਣ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਬਣਾ ਲਿਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਤਾਪ ਪਾਪ ਬਿਨਸੇ ਖਿਨ ਭੀਤਰਿ ਭਏ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲ ਗੁਸਾਈ ॥
taap paap binsay khin bheetar bha-ay kirpaal gusaa-ee.
Those upon whom God, the Master of the universe, became merciful, all their afflictions and sins vanished in an instant,
ਧਰਤੀ ਦੇ ਖਸਮ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ (ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ) ਦਇਆਵਾਨ ਹੋਏ, (ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ) ਸਾਰੇ ਦੁੱਖ-ਕਲੇਸ਼ ਸਾਰੇ ਪਾਪ ਇਕ ਖਿਨ ਵਿਚ ਨਾਸ ਹੋ ਗਏ।
ਸਾਸਿ ਸਾਸਿ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਅਰਾਧੀ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਬਲਿ ਜਾਈ ॥੨॥
saas saas paarbarahm araaDhee apunay satgur kai bal jaa-ee. ||2||
I dedicate myself to my true Guru, with whose grace I lovingly remember the Supreme God with each and every breath. ||
ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਤੋਂ ਸਦਕੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ, (ਉਸ ਦੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਨਾਲ) ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਰੇਕ ਸਾਹ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ॥੨॥
ਅਗਮ ਅਗੋਚਰੁ ਬਿਅੰਤੁ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਤਾ ਕਾ ਅੰਤੁ ਨ ਪਾਈਐ ॥
agam agochar bi-ant su-aamee taa kaa ant na paa-ee-ai. T
he Master-God is inaccessible, incomprehensible, and infinite, the limit of His virtues cannot be achieved.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਅਪਹੁੰਚ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਤਕ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਇੰਦ੍ਰਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ ਸਕਦੀ, ਉਹ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਅੰਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ।
ਲਾਹਾ ਖਾਟਿ ਹੋਈਐ ਧਨਵੰਤਾ ਅਪੁਨਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਧਿਆਈਐ ॥੩॥
laahaa khaat ho-ee-ai Dhanvantaa apunaa parabhoo Dhi-aa-ee-ai. ||3||
We should lovingly remember that God of ours and become spiritually wealthy by earning the profit of His Name. ||3|
ਆਪਣੇ ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ, (ਉਸ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਹੀ ਅਸਲ ਧਨ ਹੈ, ਇਹ) ਲਾਭ ਖੱਟ ਕੇ ਧਨਵਾਨ ਬਣ ਜਾਈਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
