ਆਪਿ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰਿ ਰਾਖਹੁ ਹਰਿ ਜੀਉ ਪੋਹਿ ਨ ਸਕੈ ਜਮਕਾਲੁ ॥੨॥
aap kirpaa kar raakho har jee-o pohi na sakai jamkaal. ||2||
O’ dear God, bestowing mercy, You Yourself protect them and then even the demon (fear) of death cannot touch them. ||2||.
ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ (ਫਿਰ) ਮੌਤ ਦਾ ਡਰ ਭੀ ਪੋਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ ॥੨॥
ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਣਾਈ ਸਚੀ ਹਰਿ ਜੀਉ ਨਾ ਓਹ ਘਟੈ ਨ ਜਾਇ ॥
tayree sarnaa-ee sachee har jee-o naa oh ghatai na jaa-ay.
O’ reverend God, protection provided by You is everlasting, it neither diminishes nor goes away.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ! ਤੇਰੀ ਓਟ ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਹੈ, ਨਾਹ ਉਹ ਘਟਦੀ ਹੈ ਨਾਹ ਉਹ ਖ਼ਤਮ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਜੋ ਹਰਿ ਛੋਡਿ ਦੂਜੈ ਭਾਇ ਲਾਗੈ ਓਹੁ ਜੰਮੈ ਤੈ ਮਰਿ ਜਾਇ ॥੩॥
jo har chhod doojai bhaa-ay laagai oh jammai tai mar jaa-ay. ||3||
One who abandons God and becomes attached to the love of Maya, he remains in the cycle of birth and death. ||3||
ਪਰ, ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ (ਦੀ ਓਟ) ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਪਿਆਰ ਵਿਚ ਲੱਗ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਦੇ ਗੇੜ ਵਿਚ ਪੈ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਜੋ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਣਾਈ ਹਰਿ ਜੀਉ ਤਿਨਾ ਦੂਖ ਭੂਖ ਕਿਛੁ ਨਾਹਿ ॥
jo tayree sarnaa-ee har jee-o tinaa dookh bhookh kichh naahi.
Those who seek Your refuge, are not affected by any sufferings and longing for Maya.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ! ਜਿਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਦੁੱਖ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਬਾ ਸਕਦੇ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ) ਭੁੱਖ ਨਹੀਂ ਵਿਆਪਦੀ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਲਾਹਿ ਸਦਾ ਤੂ ਸਚੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਸਮਾਹਿ ॥੪॥੪॥
naanak naam salaahi sadaa too sachai sabad samaahi. ||4||4||
O’ Nanak, always keep praising the Name of God, you will remain absorbed in the divine word of God’s praises. ||4||4||.
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਦਾ ਸਲਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਕਰ, ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੂੰ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਰਹੇਂਗਾ ॥੪॥੪॥

Raag Prabhati,Third Guru:
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਹਰਿ ਜੀਉ ਸਦਾ ਧਿਆਵਹੁ ਜਬ ਲਗੁ ਜੀਅ ਪਰਾਨ ॥
gurmukh har jee-o sadaa Dhi-aavahu jab lag jee-a paraan.
As long as there is life in you and you are breathing, always keep remembering God by following the Guru’s teachings.
ਜਦੋਂ ਤਕ ਜਿੰਦ ਕਾਇਮ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਸੁਆਸ ਆ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ ਸਦਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਦੇ ਰਹੋ।
ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦੀ ਮਨੁ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਹੋਆ ਚੂਕਾ ਮਨਿ ਅਭਿਮਾਨੁ ॥
gur sabdee man nirmal ho-aa chookaa man abhimaan.
One who has remembered God through the Guru’s word, his mind has become immaculate and the egotistical pride of his mind has vanished.
(ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਸਿਮਰਿਆਹੈ), ਉਸ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਅਹੰਕਾਰ ਮੁੱਕ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਸਫਲੁ ਜਨਮੁ ਤਿਸੁ ਪ੍ਰਾਨੀ ਕੇਰਾ ਹਰਿ ਕੈ ਨਾਮਿ ਸਮਾਨ ॥੧॥
safal janam tis paraanee kayraa har kai naam samaan. ||1||
Fruitful is the life of that person who is absorbed in God’s Name. ||1||
ਫਲਦਾਇਕ ਹੈ ਜੀਵਨ ਉਸ ਬੰਦੇ ਦਾ, ਜੋ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਅੰਦਰ ਲੀਨ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਸਿਖ ਸੁਣੀਜੈ ॥
mayray man gur kee sikh suneejai.
O’ my mind, we should always listen to the Guru’s teachings,
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ (ਇਹ) ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ (ਸਦਾ) ਸੁਣਦੇ ਰਹਿਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖਦਾਤਾ ਸਹਜੇ ਹਰਿ ਰਸੁ ਪੀਜੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
har kaa naam sadaa sukh-daata sehjay har ras peejai. ||1|| rahaa-o.
that the Name of God is the giver of inner peace forever, therefore we should drink the elixir of God’s Name in the state of spiritual poise. ||1||Pause||
ਕਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ ਇਸ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ-ਜਲ ਪੀਂਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਮੂਲੁ ਪਛਾਣਨਿ ਤਿਨ ਨਿਜ ਘਰਿ ਵਾਸਾ ਸਹਜੇ ਹੀ ਸੁਖੁ ਹੋਈ ॥
mool pachhaanan tin nij ghar vaasaa sehjay hee sukh ho-ee.
Those who realize God, dwell in the presence of God who is within themselves, and attain inner peace in a state of spiritual poise.
ਜਿਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਪਣੇ ਮੂਲ (ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ) ਨਾਲ ਸਾਂਝ ਪਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਿਜ ਦੇ ਧਾਮ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਚਰਨਾਂ) ਵਿੱਚ ਵਸਦੇ ਹਨ,ਅਤੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕੇ ਰਹਿਣ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਕਮਲੁ ਪਰਗਾਸਿਆ ਹਉਮੈ ਦੁਰਮਤਿ ਖੋਈ ॥
gur kai sabad kamal pargaasi-aa ha-umai durmat kho-ee.
Through the Guru’s word, their mind remains blossomed like a lotus and they get rid of their ego and evil intellect.
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਹਿਰਦਾ ਖਿੜਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। (ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ) ਹਉਮੈ ਵਾਲੀ ਖੋਟੀ ਮੱਤ ਨਾਸ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਸਭਨਾ ਮਹਿ ਏਕੋ ਸਚੁ ਵਰਤੈ ਵਿਰਲਾ ਬੂਝੈ ਕੋਈ ॥੨॥
sabhnaa meh ayko sach vartai virlaa boojhai ko-ee. ||2||
The eternal God is pervading within all beings, but only a rare person understands this concept. ||2||
(ਉਂਞ ਤਾਂ) ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਹੀ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਕੋਈ ਵਿਰਲਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਇਹ ਗੱਲ) ਸਮਝਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਗੁਰਮਤੀ ਮਨੁ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਹੋਆ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਤਤੁ ਵਖਾਨੈ ॥
gurmatee man nirmal ho-aa amrit tat vakhaanai.
One whose mind has become immaculate through the Guru’s teachings, he keeps uttering the ambrosial Name of God, the essence of reality.
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਮੱਤ ਉਤੇ ਤੁਰ ਕੇ (ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ) ਮਨ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਜਗਤ ਦੇ ਅਸਲੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਦਾ ਮਨਿ ਵਸਿਆ ਵਿਚਿ ਮਨ ਹੀ ਮਨੁ ਮਾਨੈ ॥
har kaa naam sadaa man vasi-aa vich man hee man maanai.
God’s Name always remains enshrined in his mind, and his mind remains appeased within itself.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਦਾ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਹੀ ਪਤੀਜਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਸਦ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ਗੁਰ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਵਿਟਹੁ ਜਿਤੁ ਆਤਮ ਰਾਮੁ ਪਛਾਨੈ ॥੩॥
sad balihaaree gur apunay vitahu jit aatam raam pachhaanai. ||3||
Such a person is always dedicated to his Guru through whom he realizes God. ||3||
ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਦਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਤੋਂ ਸਦਕੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਉਹ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਂਝ ਪਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਮਾਨਸ ਜਨਮਿ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਨ ਸੇਵਿਆ ਬਿਰਥਾ ਜਨਮੁ ਗਵਾਇਆ ॥
maanas janam satguroo na sayvi-aa birthaa janam gavaa-i-aa.
One who has not followed the true Guru’s teachings in this human life, has wasted his life in vain.
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਮਨੁੱਖਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਿਚ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਲਈ, ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਗਵਾ ਲਈ।
ਨਦਰਿ ਕਰੇ ਤਾਂ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਮੇਲੇ ਸਹਜੇ ਸਹਜਿ ਸਮਾਇਆ ॥
nadar karay taaN satgur maylay sehjay sahj samaa-i-aa.
Only when God bestows gracious glance, He unites a person with the true Guru and then that person intuitively remains merged in a state of spiritual poise.
(ਪਰ ਜੀਵ ਦੇ ਭੀ ਕੀਹ ਵੱਸ?) ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਤੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਮਿਹਰ ਦੀ ਨਿਗਾਹ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਫਿਰ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਮਿਲੈ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਪੂਰੈ ਭਾਗਿ ਧਿਆਇਆ ॥੪॥੫॥
naanak naam milai vadi-aa-ee poorai bhaag Dhi-aa-i-aa. ||4||5||
O’ Nanak, that person receives the glory who has lovingly remembered God through the perfect destiny. ||4||5||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਨਾਮ (ਜਪਣ ਦੀ) ਵਡਿਆਈ ਮਿਲ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਵੱਡੀ ਕਿਸਮਤ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਮਰਿਆ ਹੈ ॥੪॥੫॥

Raag Prabhati,Third Guru:
ਆਪੇ ਭਾਂਤਿ ਬਣਾਏ ਬਹੁ ਰੰਗੀ ਸਿਸਟਿ ਉਪਾਇ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਖੇਲੁ ਕੀਆ ॥
aapay bhaaNt banaa-ay baho rangee sisat upaa-ay parabh khayl kee-aa.
On His own, God creates the creations of many forms and colors; thus creating the universe, He has staged this worldly play.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਕਈ ਕਿਸਮਾਂ ਦੀ ਕਈ ਰੰਗਾਂ ਦੀ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਰਚਦਾ ਹੈ। ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਰਚ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਇਹ ਜਗਤ-ਤਮਾਸ਼ਾ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਹੈ।
ਕਰਿ ਕਰਿ ਵੇਖੈ ਕਰੇ ਕਰਾਏ ਸਰਬ ਜੀਆ ਨੋ ਰਿਜਕੁ ਦੀਆ ॥੧॥
kar kar vaykhai karay karaa-ay sarab jee-aa no rijak dee-aa. ||1||
Creating the creation and the worldly play, He watches over it; He does and gets everything done and has been providing sustenance to all beings. ||1||
ਇਹ ਜਗਤ-ਤਮਾਸ਼ਾ) ਰਚ ਰਚ ਕੇ (ਆਪ ਹੀ ਇਸ ਦੀ) ਸੰਭਾਲ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, (ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਆਪ ਹੀ) ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ (ਜੀਵਾਂ ਪਾਸੋਂ) ਕਰਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਰਿਜ਼ਕ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਆ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਕਲੀ ਕਾਲ ਮਹਿ ਰਵਿਆ ਰਾਮੁ ॥
kalee kaal meh ravi-aa raam.
In this present age of kalyug, one who has lovingly remembered God,
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਬਖੇੜਿਆਂ-ਭਰੇ ਜੀਵਨ-ਸਮੇ ਵਿਚ ਉਸ ਰਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਮਰਿਆ ਹੈ,
ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਪੂਰਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਏਕੋ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਪਰਗਟੁ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ghat ghat poor rahi-aa parabh ayko gurmukh pargat har har naam. ||1|| rahaa-o.
who is pervading in each and every heart, God’s Name manifests within that person through the Guru’s teachings. ||1||Pause||
ਜੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਹਰੇਕ ਘਟ ਵਿਚ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੈ, ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਪਰਗਟ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਗੁਪਤਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਰਤੈ ਵਿਚਿ ਕਲਜੁਗਿ ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਹਰਿ ਭਰਪੂਰਿ ਰਹਿਆ ॥
guptaa naam vartai vich kaljug ghat ghat har bharpoor rahi-aa.
God’s Name is invisibly pervading in each and every heart, yes God is permeating in everybody in this present age of Kalyug.
ਕਲਜੁਗ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਗੁਪਤ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਹਰੇਕ ਸਰੀਰ ਵਿਚ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੈ।
ਨਾਮੁ ਰਤਨੁ ਤਿਨਾ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਪ੍ਰਗਟਿਆ ਜੋ ਗੁਰ ਸਰਣਾਈ ਭਜਿ ਪਇਆ ॥੨॥
naam ratan tinaa hirdai pargati-aa jo gur sarnaa-ee bhaj pa-i-aa. ||2||
But this precious Name of God manifests only in the heart of those who have hastened to the Guru’s refuge and have followed his teachings. ||2||
ਉਸ ਦਾ) ਸ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਟ ਨਾਮ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ (ਹੀ) ਪਰਗਟ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਹੜੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਜਾ ਪੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੨॥
ਇੰਦ੍ਰੀ ਪੰਚ ਪੰਚੇ ਵਸਿ ਆਣੈ ਖਿਮਾ ਸੰਤੋਖੁ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਪਾਵੈ ॥
indree panch panchay vas aanai khimaa santokh gurmat paavai.
One who acquires virtues like forgiveness and contentment by following the Guru’s teachings, gains control over all the five sensory organs.
ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਮੱਤ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਖਿਮਾ ਸੰਤੋਖ (ਆਦਿਕ ਗੁਣ) ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, (ਇਹ ਜੋ ਬਲਵਾਨ) ਪੰਜ ਇੰਦ੍ਰੇ ਹਨ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਪੰਜਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਵੱਸ ਵਿਚ ਲੈ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਸੋ ਧਨੁ ਧਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਜਨੁ ਵਡ ਪੂਰਾ ਜੋ ਭੈ ਬੈਰਾਗਿ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵੈ ॥੩॥
so Dhan Dhan har jan vad pooraa jo bhai bairaag har gun gaavai. ||3||
Praiseworthy, perfect and great is that humble devotee of God, who sings God’s praises in the state of revered fear and worldly detachment. ||3||
ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਡਰ-ਅਦਬ ਵਿਚ ਰਹਿ ਕੇ ਵੈਰਾਗ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਵੱਡਾ ਹੈ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਪੂਰਨ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਮੁਹੁ ਫੇਰੇ ਜੇ ਕੋਈ ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਕਹਿਆ ਨ ਚਿਤਿ ਧਰੈ ॥
gur tay muhu fayray jay ko-ee gur kaa kahi-aa na chit Dharai.
If someone turns his face away from the Guru (doesn’t listen to his teachings), and doesn’t enshrine the Guru’s word in the mind,
ਪਰ, ਜੇ ਕੋਈ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਵਲੋਂ ਮੂੰਹ ਪਰਤਾਈ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ, ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਬਚਨ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਵਸਾਂਦਾ,
ਕਰਿ ਆਚਾਰ ਬਹੁ ਸੰਪਉ ਸੰਚੈ ਜੋ ਕਿਛੁ ਕਰੈ ਸੁ ਨਰਕਿ ਪਰੈ ॥੪॥
kar aachaar baho sampa-o sanchai jo kichh karai so narak parai. ||4||
he may perform all sorts of rituals and accumulate worldly wealth, still he remains miserable as if is living in the hell. ||4||
ਭਾਵੇਂ ਕਿਤਨੀ ਧਨ-ਦੌਲਤ ਇਕੱਤਰ ਕਰ ਲਵੇ ਅਤੇ ਘਣੇਰੇ ਹੀ ਕਰਮਕਾਂਡ ਕਮਾਉਂਦਾ ਰਹੇ, ਪ੍ਰੰਤੂ ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਭੀ ਉਹ ਕਰ ਲਵੇ , ਫਿਰ ਭੀ ਉਹ ਨਰਕ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਪਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ (ਸਦਾ ਦੁੱਖੀ ਹੀ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ) ॥੪॥
ਏਕੋ ਸਬਦੁ ਏਕੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਵਰਤੈ ਸਭ ਏਕਸੁ ਤੇ ਉਤਪਤਿ ਚਲੈ ॥
ayko sabad ayko parabh vartai sabh aykas tay utpat chalai.
It is the one command of the one God which pervades every where, and the entire creation is being run by the one God.
ਇਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਹੀ (ਸਾਰੇ ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ) ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੈ, (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਹੀ) ਹੁਕਮ ਚੱਲ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਇਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਤੋਂ ਹੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਦੀ ਕਾਰ ਚੱਲ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਮੇਲਿ ਮਿਲਾਏ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਜਾਇ ਰਲੈ ॥੫॥੬॥
naanak gurmukh mayl milaa-ay gurmukh har har jaa-ay ralai. ||5||6||
O’ Nanak, only that follower of the Guru unites with God, whom God unites with Himself through the Guru’s teachings. ||5||6||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪਾ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਜਿਸ ਜੀਵ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਜੀਵ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਵਿਚ ਜਾ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੫॥੬॥

ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਗੁਰੁ ਅਪਣਾ ਸਾਲਾਹਿ ॥
mayray man gur apnaa saalaahi.
O my mind, always praise your Guru,
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ! (ਸਦਾ) ਆਪਣੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੋਭਾ ਕਰਿਆ ਕਰ,
