ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਹੁ ਜਨ ਭਾਈ ॥
har har naam japahu jan bhaa-ee.
O’ my brotherly devotees, lovingly remember God’s Name at all times.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ ਜਨੋ! ਸਦਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਿਆ ਕਰੋ।
ਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਮਨੁ ਅਸਥਿਰੁ ਹੋਵੈ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਰਸਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਅਘਾਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
gur parsaad man asthir hovai an-din har ras rahi-aa aghaa-ee. ||1|| rahaa-o.
By the Guru’s grace, one’s mind becomes stable against the onslaught of Maya and always remains satiated with the elixir of God’s Name. ||1||Pause||
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਨ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਹੱਲਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਟਾਕਰੇ ਤੇ) ਅਡੋਲ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਸੁਆਦ ਵਿਚ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਰੱਜਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਭਗਤਿ ਕਰਹੁ ਦਿਨੁ ਰਾਤੀ ਇਸੁ ਜੁਗ ਕਾ ਲਾਹਾ ਭਾਈ ॥
an-din bhagat karahu din raatee is jug kaa laahaa bhaa-ee.
O’ brother, always perform the devotional worship of God, this only is the true profit in this life.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਕਰਦੇ ਰਹੋ। ਇਹੀ ਹੈ ਇਸ ਮਨੁੱਖਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਦਾ ਲਾਭ।
ਸਦਾ ਜਨ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਮੈਲੁ ਨ ਲਾਗੈ ਸਚਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਚਿਤੁ ਲਾਈ ॥੨॥
sadaa jan nirmal mail na laagai sach naam chit laa-ee. ||2||
Those who focus their mind on the eternal God’s Name, are always immaculate and are not soiled by the dirt of vices. ||2||
ਜਿਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਚਿੱਤ ਜੋੜਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਸਦਾ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਹਨ ,ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਮੈਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੱਗਦੀ ॥੨॥
ਸੁਖੁ ਸੀਗਾਰੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਿਖਾਇਆ ਨਾਮਿ ਵਡੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ॥
sukh seegaar satguroo dikhaa-i-aa naam vadee vadi-aa-ee.
The inner peace is like an ornament for life; the true Guru has revealed that the great glory lies in Naam.
ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ (ਮਨੁੱਖਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਇਕ) ਗਹਿਣਾ ਹੈ।ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਵਿਖਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਵਡੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਹੈ l
ਅਖੁਟ ਭੰਡਾਰ ਭਰੇ ਕਦੇ ਤੋਟਿ ਨ ਆਵੈ ਸਦਾ ਹਰਿ ਸੇਵਹੁ ਭਾਈ ॥੩॥
akhut bhandaar bharay kaday tot na aavai sadaa har sayvhu bhaa-ee. ||3||
O’ brother, always keep remembering God with adoration, by doing so the inexhaustible treasures of Naam remain full within and never run short. ||3||
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਸਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ-ਭਗਤੀ ਕਰਦੇ ਰਹੋ (ਸਦਾ ਭਗਤੀ ਕਰਦੇ ਰਿਹਾਂ ਇਹ) ਕਦੇ ਨਾਹ ਮੁੱਕਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ (ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ) ਭਰੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, (ਇਹਨਾਂ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਿਆਂ ਵਿਚ) ਕਦੇ ਕਮੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦੀ ॥੩॥
ਆਪੇ ਕਰਤਾ ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਦੇਵੈ ਤਿਸੁ ਵਸੈ ਮਨਿ ਆਈ ॥
aapay kartaa jis no dayvai tis vasai man aa-ee.
This treasure of Naam comes to abide only in that person’s heart whom God Himself gives.
ਕਰਤਾਰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਨਾਮ-ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਆ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇ ਸਦਾ ਤੂ ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਦੀਆ ਦਿਖਾਈ ॥੪॥੧॥
naanak naam Dhi-aa-ay sadaa too satgur dee-aa dikhaa-ee. ||4||1||
O’ Nanak, you should always remember God with loving devotion, the true Guru has shown this path of remembering God. ||4||1||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਤੂੰ ਸਦਾ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਦਾ ਰਹੁ। (ਭਗਤੀ-ਸਿਮਰਨ ਦਾ ਇਹ ਰਸਤਾ) ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਵਿਖਾ ਦਿਤਾ ਹੈ ॥੪॥੧॥

ਨਿਰਗੁਣੀਆਰੇ ਕਉ ਬਖਸਿ ਲੈ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਆਪੇ ਲੈਹੁ ਮਿਲਾਈ ॥
nirgunee-aaray ka-o bakhas lai su-aamee aapay laihu milaa-ee.
O’ God, forgive me, the unvirtuous one, and You Yourself unite me with Your Name.
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ! (ਮੈਂ) ਗੁਣ-ਹੀਨ ਨੂੰ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ ਲੈ, ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ) ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਮਿਲਾ ਲੈ
ਤੂ ਬਿਅੰਤੁ ਤੇਰਾ ਅੰਤੁ ਨ ਪਾਇਆ ਸਬਦੇ ਦੇਹੁ ਬੁਝਾਈ ॥੧॥
too bi-ant tayraa ant na paa-i-aa sabday dayh bujhaa-ee. ||1||
O’ God! You are infinite, no one has found Your limit; please make me understand the righteous way of life through the Guru’s word. ||1||
ਤੂੰ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਹੈਂ, ਤੇਰੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੇ ਅੰਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾਇਆ। ਹੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਵਿਚ ਜੋੜ ਕੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੀ ਸੂਝ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ ॥੧॥
ਹਰਿ ਜੀਉ ਤੁਧੁ ਵਿਟਹੁ ਬਲਿ ਜਾਈ ॥
har jee-o tuDh vitahu bal jaa-ee.
O’ my reverend God, I am dedicated to You.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ! ਮੈਂ ਤੈਥੋਂ ਸਦਕੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
ਤਨੁ ਮਨੁ ਅਰਪੀ ਤੁਧੁ ਆਗੈ ਰਾਖਉ ਸਦਾ ਰਹਾਂ ਸਰਣਾਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
tan man arpee tuDh aagai raakha-o sadaa rahaaN sarnaa-ee. ||1|| rahaa-o.
I dedicate my mind and body and place them in offering before You; I always wish to remain in Your refuge. ||1||Pause|
ਮੈਂ (ਆਪਣਾ) ਤਨ (ਆਪਣਾ) ਮਨ ਭੇਟ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਤੇਰੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ (ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰ,) ਮੈਂ ਸਦਾ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਨ ਪਿਆ ਰਹਾਂ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ
ਆਪਣੇ ਭਾਣੇ ਵਿਚਿ ਸਦਾ ਰਖੁ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੋ ਦੇਹਿ ਵਡਿਆਈ ॥
aapnay bhaanay vich sadaa rakh su-aamee har naamo deh vadi-aa-ee.
O’ my Master-God, always keep me under Your will and bless me with Your Name which is the only honor for me.
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ! ਮੈਨੂੰ ਸਦਾ ਆਪਣੀ ਰਜ਼ਾ ਵਿਚ ਰੱਖ, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਨਾਮ ਹੀ ਦੇਹ (ਇਹ ਹੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਵਾਸਤੇ) ਇੱਜ਼ਤ (ਹੈ)।
ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਭਾਣਾ ਜਾਪੈ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਸਹਜਿ ਸਮਾਈ ॥੨॥
pooray gur tay bhaanaa jaapai an-din sahj samaa-ee. ||2||
God’s will is understood through the perfect Guru and one always remains absorbed in peace and poise. ||2||
ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਪਾਸੋਂ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ) ਰਜ਼ਾ ਦੀ ਸਮਝ ਆਉਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਤੇਰੈ ਭਾਣੈ ਭਗਤਿ ਜੇ ਤੁਧੁ ਭਾਵੈ ਆਪੇ ਬਖਸਿ ਮਿਲਾਈ ॥
tayrai bhaanai bhagat jay tuDh bhaavai aapay bakhas milaa-ee.
O’ God, if it pleases You, only then one can worship You in accordance with Your will; bestowing mercy, You Yourself unite one with Your Name.
ਹੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ! ਜੇ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਲੱਗੇ ਤਾਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਰਜ਼ਾ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਤੇਰੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਹੋ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ, ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਜੋੜਦਾ ਹੈਂ।
ਤੇਰੈ ਭਾਣੈ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਗੁਰਿ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਅਗਨਿ ਬੁਝਾਈ ॥੩॥
tayrai bhaanai sadaa sukh paa-i-aa gur tarisnaa agan bujhaa-ee. ||3||
O’ God, one whose fire of worldly desires is extinguished by the Guru, has attained inner peace by living according to Your will. ||3||
(ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ) ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਤ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨਾ ਦੀ ਅੱਗ ਬੁਝਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ, ਉਸ ਨੇ (ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ!) ਤੇਰੀ ਰਜ਼ਾ ਵਿਚ ਰਹਿ ਕੇ ਸਦਾ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਮਾਣਿਆ ॥੩॥
ਜੋ ਤੂ ਕਰਹਿ ਸੁ ਹੋਵੈ ਕਰਤੇ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕਰਣਾ ਜਾਈ ॥
jo too karahi so hovai kartay avar na karnaa jaa-ee.
O’ the Creator-God, whatever You do, only that happens and nothing else can be done.
ਹੇ ਕਰਤਾਰ! (ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ) ਉਹੀ ਕੁਝ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਤੂੰ (ਆਪ) ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈਂ (ਤੇਰੀ ਮਰਜ਼ੀ ਦੇ ਉਲਟ) ਹੋਰ ਕੁਝ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਵੈ ਜੇਵਡੁ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਦਾਤਾ ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਪਾਈ ॥੪॥੨॥
naanak naavai jayvad avar na daataa pooray gur tay paa-ee. ||4||2||
O’ Nanak, there is no other great benefactor as God’s Name and God’s Name is received only through the perfect Guru. ||4||2||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਬਰਾਬਰ ਦਾ ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਦਾਤਾਂ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਨਾਮ ਗੁਰੂ ਪਾਸੋਂ (ਹੀ) ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੪॥੨॥

ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਹਰਿ ਸਾਲਾਹਿਆ ਜਿੰਨਾ ਤਿਨ ਸਲਾਹਿ ਹਰਿ ਜਾਤਾ ॥
gurmukh har salaahi-aa jinna tin salaahi har jaataa.
Those who praised God through the Guru’s teachings, have realized Him through His praises.
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕੀਤੀ, ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਜੱਸ ਕਰਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਣਿਆ ਹੈਂ।
ਵਿਚਹੁ ਭਰਮੁ ਗਇਆ ਹੈ ਦੂਜਾ ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਪਛਾਤਾ ॥੧॥
vichahu bharam ga-i-aa hai doojaa gur kai sabad pachhaataa. ||1||
From within them the illusion of Maya has gone and through the Guru’s word they have recognized God. ||1||
ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਮਾਇਆ ਵਾਲੀ ਭਟਕਣਾ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਹੈ, ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਪਛਾਣਿਆ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਹਰਿ ਜੀਉ ਤੂ ਮੇਰਾ ਇਕੁ ਸੋਈ ॥
har jee-o too mayraa ik so-ee.
O’ reverend God, You are the only one who takes care of me.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ! ਮੇਰੀ ਸਾਰ ਲੈਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਇਕ ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਹੈਂ।
ਤੁਧੁ ਜਪੀ ਤੁਧੈ ਸਾਲਾਹੀ ਗਤਿ ਮਤਿ ਤੁਝ ਤੇ ਹੋਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
tuDh japee tuDhai saalaahee gat mat tujh tay ho-ee. ||1|| rahaa-o.
I only remember You and sing Your praises; supreme spiritual state and sublime intellect is attained only through You. ||1||Pause||
ਮੈਂ (ਸਦਾ) ਤੈਨੂੰ (ਹੀ) ਜਪਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਮੈਂ (ਸਦਾ) ਤੈਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਸਲਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ। ਉੱਚੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਤੇ ਉੱਚੀ ਅਕਲ ਤੈਥੋਂ ਹੀ ਮਿਲਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਸਾਲਾਹਨਿ ਸੇ ਸਾਦੁ ਪਾਇਨਿ ਮੀਠਾ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਸਾਰੁ ॥
gurmukh saalaahan say saad paa-in meethaa amrit saar.
Those who follow the Guru’s teachings and sing Your praises, they enjoy its bliss; the ambrosial nectar of Naam is more sweet and sublime than other things.
ਜਿਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ (ਉਸ ਦਾ) ਆਨੰਦ ਮਾਣਦੇ ਹਨ। ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਨਾਮ-ਜਲ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿੱਠਾ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ (ਹੋਰ ਸਭ ਪਦਾਰਥਾਂ ਨਾਲੋਂ) ਸ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਟ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਸਦਾ ਮੀਠਾ ਕਦੇ ਨ ਫੀਕਾ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦੀ ਵੀਚਾਰੁ ॥੨॥
sadaa meethaa kaday na feekaa gur sabdee veechaar. ||2||
Yes, they reflect on God’s Name through the Guru’s word, to them the elixir of God’s Name is always sweet and never tasteless. ||2||
ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ) ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ) ਵਿਚਾਰ (ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਸ ਦਾ ਸੁਆਦ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਸਦਾ ਮਿੱਠਾ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ, ਕਦੇ ਬੇ-ਸੁਆਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਪਦਾ ॥੨॥
ਜਿਨਿ ਮੀਠਾ ਲਾਇਆ ਸੋਈ ਜਾਣੈ ਤਿਸੁ ਵਿਟਹੁ ਬਲਿ ਜਾਈ ॥
jin meethaa laa-i-aa so-ee jaanai tis vitahu bal jaa-ee.
God, who has made me feel His Name sweet, knows this mystery; I am always dedicated to Him.
ਜਿਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਨਾਮ ਮਿੱਠਾ ਮਹਿਸੂਸ ਕਰਾਇਆ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਇਸ ਭੇਤ ਨੂੰ) ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ। ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਸਦਾ ਸਦਕੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
ਸਬਦਿ ਸਲਾਹੀ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖਦਾਤਾ ਵਿਚਹੁ ਆਪੁ ਗਵਾਈ ॥੩॥
sabad salaahee sadaa sukh-daata vichahu aap gavaa-ee. ||3||
Eradicating my self-conceit from within through the Guru’s word, I always sing praises of God, the giver of inner peace. ||3||
ਮੈਂ (ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ) ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ (ਆਪਣੇ) ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਆਪਾ-ਭਾਵ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਸੁਖ-ਦਾਤੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਦਾ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ॥੩॥
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਮੇਰਾ ਸਦਾ ਹੈ ਦਾਤਾ ਜੋ ਇਛੈ ਸੋ ਫਲੁ ਪਾਏ ॥
satgur mayraa sadaa hai daataa jo ichhai so fal paa-ay.
My true Guru is always the benefactor; whatever one desires, one receives that fruit from the Guru.
ਮੇਰਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਸਦਾ ਦਾਤ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ , ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਗੁਰੂ ਪਾਸੋਂ) ਜੋ ਕੁਛ ਮੰਗਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਫਲ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਮਿਲੈ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦੀ ਸਚੁ ਪਾਏ ॥੪॥੩॥
naanak naam milai vadi-aa-ee gur sabdee sach paa-ay. ||4||3||
O’ Nanak, Naam is received from the Guru, which is the true honor and one also realizes God through the Guru’s word. ||4||3||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਗੁਰੂ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਨਾਮ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ (ਇਹੀ ਹੈ ਅਸਲ) ਇੱਜ਼ਤ। ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ (ਮਨੁੱਖ) ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੪॥੩॥

Raag Prabhati,Third Guru:
ਜੋ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਣਾਈ ਹਰਿ ਜੀਉ ਤਿਨ ਤੂ ਰਾਖਨ ਜੋਗੁ ॥
jo tayree sarnaa-ee har jee-o tin too raakhan jog.
O’ dear God, You are capable of protecting those who come to Your refuge.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ! ਜਿਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਨ ਆ ਪੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਤੂੰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਕਰਨ ਦੇ ਸਮਰੱਥ ਹੈਂ।
ਤੁਧੁ ਜੇਵਡੁ ਮੈ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਸੂਝੈ ਨਾ ਕੋ ਹੋਆ ਨ ਹੋਗੁ ॥੧॥
tuDh jayvad mai avar na soojhai naa ko ho-aa na hog. ||1||
O’ reverend God! I cannot even conceive of any other as great as You; therenever was and there never shall be. ||1||
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ! ਤੇਰੇ ਬਰਾਬਰ ਦਾ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੁੱਝਦਾ। (ਅਜੇ ਤਕ ਤੇਰੇ ਬਰਾਬਰ ਦਾ) ਨਾਹ ਕੋਈ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ, (ਅਤੇ ਅਗਾਂਹ ਨੂੰ) ਨਾਹ ਕੋਈ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ ॥੧॥
ਹਰਿ ਜੀਉ ਸਦਾ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਣਾਈ ॥
har jee-o sadaa tayree sarnaa-ee.
O’ dear God! I wish to always be in Your refuge.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ! (ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰ, ਮੈਂ) ਸਦਾ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਨ ਪਿਆ ਰਹਾਂ।
ਜਿਉ ਭਾਵੈ ਤਿਉ ਰਾਖਹੁ ਮੇਰੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਏਹ ਤੇਰੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ji-o bhaavai ti-o raakho mayray su-aamee ayh tayree vadi-aa-ee. ||1|| rahaa-o.
O’ my Master-God, save me as it pleases You; it is Your greatness that You protect us all. ||1||Pause||
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ! ਜਿਵੇਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਭਾਵੇ (ਮੇਰੀ) ਰੱਖਿਆ ਕਰ (ਅਸਾਂ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੀ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਕਰ ਸਕਣਾ) ਇਹ ਤੇਰੀ ਹੀ ਸਮਰਥਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ
ਜੋ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਣਾਈ ਹਰਿ ਜੀਉ ਤਿਨ ਕੀ ਕਰਹਿ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਲ ॥
jo tayree sarnaa-ee har jee-o tin kee karahi partipaal.
O’ reverend God! You nurture those who come to Your refuge.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ! ਜਿਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਨ ਆ ਪੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਤੂੰ (ਆਪ) ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਪਾਲਣਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈਂ।
