ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਜਪੁ ਜਪਿ ਜਗੰਨਾਥੇ ॥
mayray man jap jap jagaNnaathay.
O’ my mind, recite the Name of God, the Master of the universe.
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ! ਜਗਤ ਦੇ ਨਾਥ (ਦੇ ਨਾਮ) ਦਾ ਜਾਪ ਜਪਿਆ ਕਰ।
ਗੁਰ ਉਪਦੇਸਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇਓ ਸਭਿ ਕਿਲਬਿਖ ਦੁਖ ਲਾਥੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
gur updays har naam Dhi-aa-i-o sabh kilbikh dukh laathay. ||1|| rahaa-o.
Anyone who remembered God with passion and love by following the Guru’s teachings, all his vices and sufferings vanished. ||1||Pause||
(ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ) ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਿਆ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਪਾਪ ਸਾਰੇ ਦੁੱਖ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਗਏ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਰਸਨਾ ਏਕ ਜਸੁ ਗਾਇ ਨ ਸਾਕੈ ਬਹੁ ਕੀਜੈ ਬਹੁ ਰਸੁਨਥੇ ॥
rasnaa ayk jas gaa-ay na saakai baho keejai baho rasunathay.
O’ God, this one tongue of a person cannot sing all Your praises; therefore please bless him with many tongues.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! (ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੀ) ਇੱਕ ਜੀਭ (ਤੇਰਾ) ਜਸ (ਪੂਰੇ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ) ਗਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦੀ, (ਇਸ ਨੂੰ) ਬਹੁਤ ਜੀਭਾਂ ਵਾਲਾ ਬਣਾ ਦੇਹ।
ਬਾਰ ਬਾਰ ਖਿਨੁ ਪਲ ਸਭਿ ਗਾਵਹਿ ਗੁਨ ਕਹਿ ਨ ਸਕਹਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਤੁਮਨਥੇ ॥੧॥
baar baar khin pal sabh gaavahi gun kahi na sakahi parabh tumnathay. ||1||
Again and again, all creatures sing Your praises at every moment and still they cannot describe all Your virtues. ||1||
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਸਾਰੇ ਜੀਵ ਮੁੜ ਮੁੜ ਹਰੇਕ ਪਲ ਤੇਰੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਪਰ ਤੇਰੇ (ਸਾਰੇ) ਗੁਣ ਬਿਆਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਸਕਦੇ ॥੧॥
ਹਮ ਬਹੁ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਲਗੀ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਹਮ ਲੋਚਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਦਿਖਨਥੇ ॥
ham baho pareet lagee parabh su-aamee ham lochah parabh dikhnathay.
O’ my Master-God, I am so deeply imbued with Your love that now I am yearning to visualize You.
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਾਲਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਤੇਰੀ ਬਹੁਤ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋ ਚੁਕੀ ਹੈ; ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਦੇਖਣ ਲਈ ਤਾਂਘ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹਾਂ।
ਤੁਮ ਬਡ ਦਾਤੇ ਜੀਅ ਜੀਅਨ ਕੇ ਤੁਮ ਜਾਨਹੁ ਹਮ ਬਿਰਥੇ ॥੨॥
tum bad daatay jee-a jee-an kay tum jaanhu ham birthay. ||2||
You are the great bestower of life to all the beings, and You know the anguish of their hearts. ||2||
ਤੂੰ ਸਾਰੇ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਿੰਦ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਪੀੜ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈਂ ॥੨॥
ਕੋਈ ਮਾਰਗੁ ਪੰਥੁ ਬਤਾਵੈ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਾ ਕਹੁ ਤਿਨ ਕਉ ਕਿਆ ਦਿਨਥੇ ॥
ko-ee maarag panth bataavai parabh kaa kaho tin ka-o ki-aa dinthay.
What should I offer to that one who tells me the way to realize God?
ਜੇ ਕੋਈ (ਸੰਤ ਜਨ ਮੈਨੂੰ) ਪ੍ਰਭੂ (ਦੇ ਮਿਲਾਪ) ਦਾ ਰਸਤਾ ਦੱਸ ਦੇਵੇ, ਤਾਂ ਅਜਿਹੇ (ਸੰਤ) ਜਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੀਹ ਦੇਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ?
ਸਭੁ ਤਨੁ ਮਨੁ ਅਰਪਉ ਅਰਪਿ ਅਰਾਪਉ ਕੋਈ ਮੇਲੈ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮਿਲਥੇ ॥੩॥
sabh tan man arpa-o arap araapa-o ko-ee maylai parabh milthay. ||3||
I would surrender all my body and mind forever to someone who has himself realized God, and helps me to get united with Him. ||3||
ਜੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਕੋਈ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾ ਦੇਵੇ ਤਾਂ ਮੈਂ ਤਾਂ ਆਪਣਾ ਸਾਰਾ ਤਨ ਮਨ ਸਦਾ ਲਈ ਭੇਟ ਕਰ ਦਿਆਂ ॥੩॥
ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਗੁਨ ਬਹੁਤ ਬਹੁਤ ਬਹੁ ਸੋਭਾ ਹਮ ਤੁਛ ਕਰਿ ਕਰਿ ਬਰਨਥੇ ॥
har kay gun bahut bahut baho sobhaa ham tuchh kar kar barnathay.
The virtues of God are excessively numerous and glorious, but we describe these virtues after greatly minimizing them.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਬਹੁਤ ਹੀ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਹਨ, ਬਹੁਤ ਸੋਭਾ ਵਾਲੇ ਹਨ,ਪਰ ਅਸੀਂ ਜੀਵ ਉਨ੍ਹਾ ਨੂੰ ਥੋੜਾ ਕਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਬਿਆਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਾਂ।
ਹਮਰੀ ਮਤਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਤੁਮਰੈ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਮਰਥੇ ॥੪॥੩॥
hamree mat vasgat parabh tumrai jan naanak kay parabh samrathay. ||4||3||
O’ all-powerful God of devotee Nanak, our intellect is under Your control, and we use it to describe Your virtues. ||4||3||
ਹੇ ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੇ ਸਮਰੱਥ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਅਸਾਂ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੀ ਮੱਤ ਤੇਰੇ ਹੀ ਵੱਸ ਵਿਚ ਹੈ (ਜਿਤਨੀ ਮੱਤ ਤੂੰ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈਂ ਉਤਨੀ ਹੀ ਤੇਰੀ ਸੋਭਾ ਅਸੀਂ ਬਿਆਨ ਕਰ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਾਂ) ॥੪॥੩॥

Raag Kalyan, Fourth Guru:
ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਜਪਿ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਨ ਅਕਥ ਸੁਨਥਈ ॥
mayray man jap har gun akath suntha-ee.
O’ my mind, remember the virtues of God with passion and love which are said to be inexpressible,
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ! ਉਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਯਾਦ ਕਰਿਆ ਕਰ ਜੋ ਅਕੱਥ ਸੁਣੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ,
ਧਰਮੁ ਅਰਥੁ ਸਭੁ ਕਾਮੁ ਮੋਖੁ ਹੈ ਜਨ ਪੀਛੈ ਲਗਿ ਫਿਰਥਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Dharam arath sabh kaam mokh hai jan peechhai lag firtha-ee. ||1|| rahaa-o.
by doing so, the four objects of life- righteousness, wealth, other desires and salvation are fulfilled, as if these are running after God’s devotees. ||1||Pause||
ਧਰਮ ਅਰਥ ਕਾਮ ਮੋਖ-(ਇਹੀ ਹੈ) ਸਾਰਾ (ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨਾ, ਪਰ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਹਰੇਕ ਹੀ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ) ਭਗਤ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਤੁਰਿਆ ਫਿਰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਸੋ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਵੈ ਹਰਿ ਜਨੁ ਜਿਸੁ ਬਡਭਾਗ ਮਥਈ ॥
so har har naam Dhi-aavai har jan jis badbhaag math-ee.
Only that humble devotee lovingly remembers God’s Name who has been preordained with great destiny.
ਕੇਵਲ ਉਹ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਭਗਤ-ਜਨ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਮੱਥੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਸ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਟ ਪ੍ਰਾਲਬਧ ਲਿਖੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ।
ਜਹ ਦਰਗਹਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਲੇਖਾ ਮਾਗੈ ਤਹ ਛੁਟੈ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇਥਈ ॥੧॥
jah dargahi parabh laykhaa maagai tah chhutai naam Dhi-aa-itha-ee. ||1||
When in His presence, God asks for the account of a person’s deeds, then he alone is emancipated who has remembered Naam with passion and love. ||1||
ਜਦੋਂ ਦਰਗਾਹ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਦਾ ਲੇਖਾ ਮੰਗਦਾ ਹੈ, ਓਥੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਹੀ ਬੰਦੇ ਨੂੰ ਖਲਾਸੀ ਦਿਵਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਹਮਰੇ ਦੋਖ ਬਹੁ ਜਨਮ ਜਨਮ ਕੇ ਦੁਖੁ ਹਉਮੈ ਮੈਲੁ ਲਗਥਈ ॥
hamray dokh baho janam janam kay dukh ha-umai mail lagtha-ee.
The sins of countless lifetimes have collected within us, and we are afflicted with the suffering and filth of egotism.
ਅਸਾਂ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਜਨਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਐਬ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਹੋਏ ਪਏ ਹਨ, ਸਾਡੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਦੁੱਖ ਟਿਕਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਹਉਮੈ ਦੀ ਮੈਲ ਲੱਗੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਗੁਰਿ ਧਾਰਿ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਹਰਿ ਜਲਿ ਨਾਵਾਏ ਸਭ ਕਿਲਬਿਖ ਪਾਪ ਗਥਈ ॥੨॥
gur Dhaar kirpaa har jal naavaa-ay sabh kilbikh paap gath-ee. ||2||
Bestowing mercy, those whom the Guru bathed in the water of the divine word of God’s Name, their filth of vices and sins got washed off. ||2||
ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ-ਜਲ ਵਿਚ ਇਸ਼ਨਾਨ ਕਰਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਪਾਪਾਂ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਮੈਲ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਗਈ ॥੨॥
ਜਨ ਕੈ ਰਿਦ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਜਨ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਭਜਥਈ ॥
jan kai rid antar parabh su-aamee jan har har naam bhajtha-ee.
The Master-God is abiding within the hearts of the devotees, and they keep remembering His Name with passion and love.
ਭਗਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਵੱਸਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਭਗਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਸਦਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਜਹ ਅੰਤੀ ਅਉਸਰੁ ਆਇ ਬਨਤੁ ਹੈ ਤਹ ਰਾਖੈ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਾਥਈ ॥੩॥
jah antee a-osar aa-ay banat hai tah raakhai naam saath-ee. ||3||
When it is their last moment i.e. time of death, then Naam protects them like a true companion. ||3||
ਜਦੋਂ ਅਖ਼ੀਰਲਾ ਵਕਤ ਆ ਬਣਦਾ ਹੈ, ਓਦੋਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਾਥੀ (ਬਣ ਕੇ) ਰਖਿਆ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਜਨ ਤੇਰਾ ਜਸੁ ਗਾਵਹਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਹਰਿ ਜਪਿਓ ਜਗੰਨਥਈ ॥
jan tayraa jas gaavahi har har parabh har japi-o jagaNnatha-ee.
O’ God, the master of the universe, Your devotees always sing Your praises and lovingly remember You all the time.
ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! ਹੇ ਜਗਤ ਦੇ ਨਾਥ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! (ਤੇਰੇ) ਭਗਤ ਤੇਰਾ ਜਸ (ਸਦਾ) ਗਾਂਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ। (ਤੇਰੇ ਭਗਤਾਂ ਨੇ) ਸਦਾ ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਰਾਖੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਹਮ ਪਾਥਰ ਰਖੁ ਬੁਡਥਈ ॥੪॥੪॥
jan naanak kay parabh raakhay su-aamee ham paathar rakh budtha-ee. ||4||4||
O’ God, the master and savior of devotee Nanak, we are sinking like stones in the worldly ocean of vices, please protect us. ||4||4||
ਹੇ ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੇ ਰਖਵਾਲੇ ਮਾਲਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਸੰਸਾਰ ਸਾਗਰ ਵਿਚ ਅਸਾਂ ਪੱਥਰ (ਵਾਂਗ) ਡੁੱਬਦੇ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੀ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਕਰ ॥੪॥੪॥

Raag Kalyan, Fourth Guru:
ਹਮਰੀ ਚਿਤਵਨੀ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਜਾਨੈ ॥
hamree chitvanee har parabh jaanai.
God knows all our innermost thoughts.
ਅਸਾਂ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੀ (ਹਰੇਕ) ਭਾਵਨੀ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ (ਆਪ) ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਅਉਰੁ ਕੋਈ ਨਿੰਦ ਕਰੈ ਹਰਿ ਜਨ ਕੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਤਾ ਕਾ ਕਹਿਆ ਇਕੁ ਤਿਲੁ ਨਹੀ ਮਾਨੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
a-or ko-ee nind karai har jan kee parabh taa kaa kahi-aa ik til nahee maanai. ||1|| rahaa-o.
If someone backbites a God’s devotee, God doesn’t believe even a bit of what he says. ||1||Pause||
ਜੇ ਕੋਈ ਹੋਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਭਗਤ ਦੀ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੋਵੇ,ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਆਖਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ (ਨਿੰਦਾ ਦਾ ਬਚਨ) ਰਤਾ ਭਰ ਭੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਮੰਨਦਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਅਉਰ ਸਭ ਤਿਆਗਿ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਿ ਅਚੁਤ ਜੋ ਸਭ ਤੇ ਊਚ ਠਾਕੁਰੁ ਭਗਵਾਨੈ ॥
a-or sabh ti-aag sayvaa kar achut jo sabh tay ooch thaakur bhagvaanai.
O’ brother, abandon everything else and lovingly remember the imperishable God who is the greatest Master-God.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਹੋਰ ਹਰੇਕ (ਆਸ) ਲਾਹ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਅਬਿਨਾਸੀ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਕਰਿਆ ਕਰ, ਜਿਹੜਾ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਉੱਚਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਭਗਵਾਨ ਹੈ।
ਹਰਿ ਸੇਵਾ ਤੇ ਕਾਲੁ ਜੋਹਿ ਨ ਸਾਕੈ ਚਰਨੀ ਆਇ ਪਵੈ ਹਰਿ ਜਾਨੈ ॥੧॥
har sayvaa tay kaal johi na saakai charnee aa-ay pavai har jaanai. ||1||
Because of remembering God with adoration, even the demon of death cannot come close; instead he comes and falls at the feet of the devotee. ||1||
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ-ਭਗਤੀ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਮੌਤ (ਭਗਤ ਵਲ) ਤੱਕ ਭੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦੀ, ਉਹ ਤਾਂ ਭਗਤ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਆ ਡਿੱਗਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਜਾ ਕਉ ਰਾਖਿ ਲੇਇ ਮੇਰਾ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਤਾ ਕਉ ਸੁਮਤਿ ਦੇਇ ਪੈ ਕਾਨੈ ॥
jaa ka-o raakh lay-ay mayraa su-aamee taa ka-o sumat day-ay pai kaanai.
That person whom my Master-God provides protection, is carefully blessed by Him with wise intellect.
ਪਿਆਰਾ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੀ ਰਖਿਆ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰ ਨਾਲ ਧਿਆਨ ਨਾਲ ਸ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਟ ਮੱਤ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਤਾ ਕਉ ਕੋਈ ਅਪਰਿ ਨ ਸਾਕੈ ਜਾ ਕੀ ਭਗਤਿ ਮੇਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਮਾਨੈ ॥੨॥
taa ka-o ko-ee apar na saakai jaa kee bhagat mayraa parabh maanai. ||2||
No one can equal that person whose devotional worship is accepted by my God. ||2||
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਪਰਵਾਨ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਕੋਈ ਹੋਰ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਬਰਾਬਰੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ ॥੨॥
ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਚੋਜ ਵਿਡਾਨ ਦੇਖੁ ਜਨ ਜੋ ਖੋਟਾ ਖਰਾ ਇਕ ਨਿਮਖ ਪਛਾਨੈ ॥
har kay choj vidaan daykh jan jo khotaa kharaa ik nimakh pachhaanai.
O’ mortal, look at the amazing wonders of God who distinguishes between the true and the false people in an instant.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ! ਵੇਖ, ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਕੌਤਕ ਬੜੇ ਹੈਰਾਨ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਹਨ ਜੋ ਅੱਖ ਝਮਕਣ ਜਿਤਨੇ ਸਮੇ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਖੋਟੇ ਖਰੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਪਛਾਣ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਤਾ ਤੇ ਜਨ ਕਉ ਅਨਦੁ ਭਇਆ ਹੈ ਰਿਦ ਸੁਧ ਮਿਲੇ ਖੋਟੇ ਪਛੁਤਾਨੈ ॥੩॥
taa tay jan ka-o anad bha-i-aa hai rid suDh milay khotay pachhutaanai. ||3||
That is why His devotee remains in bliss because he knows that people with pure hearts realize God, but the bad-intentioned persons keep repenting. ||3||
ਤਾਹੀਏਂ ਭਗਤ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਆਨੰਦ ਬਣਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪਤਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਸੁੱਧ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਾਲੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਪੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਖੋਟੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਛੁਤਾਂਦੇ ਹੀ ਰਹਿ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ॥੩॥
ਤੁਮ ਹਰਿ ਦਾਤੇ ਸਮਰਥ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਇਕੁ ਮਾਗਉ ਤੁਝ ਪਾਸਹੁ ਹਰਿ ਦਾਨੈ ॥
tum har daatay samrath su-aamee ik maaga-o tujh paashu har daanai.
O’ God, You are the bestower and all-powerful master: O’ God! I seek only one charity from You,
ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! ਤੁਸੀਂ ਸਭ ਦਾਤਾਂ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਸਭ ਤਾਕਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਾਲਕ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਹੋ। ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਇਕ ਖ਼ੈਰ ਮੰਗਦਾ ਹਾਂ,
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਕਉ ਹਰਿ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰਿ ਦੀਜੈ ਸਦ ਬਸਹਿ ਰਿਦੈ ਮੋਹਿ ਹਰਿ ਚਰਾਨੈ ॥੪॥੫॥
jan naanak ka-o har kirpaa kar deejai sad baseh ridai mohi har charaanai. ||4||5||
please bestow mercy on Your devotee Nanak and bless him that Your Name may remain in my heart forever. ||4||5||
ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ (ਆਪਣੇ) ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ ਨੂੰ (ਇਹ ਦਾਨ) ਦੇਹ ਕਿ, ਤੇਰੇ ਚਰਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਸਦਾ ਵੱਸਦੇ ਰਹਿਣ ॥੪॥੫॥
