O’ Nanak, I will forever dedicate my life to them. ||4||2||20||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਮੈਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਸਦਾ ਸਦਕੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ ॥੪॥੨॥੨੦॥

Raag Malaar, Fifth Guru:
ਪਰਮੇਸਰੁ ਹੋਆ ਦਇਆਲੁ ॥
parmaysar ho-aa da-i-aal.
The human being on whom God is merciful,
(ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉੱਤੇ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਇਆਵਾਨ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਮੇਘੁ ਵਰਸੈ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਧਾਰ ॥
maygh varsai amrit Dhaar.
the ambrosial nectar of God’s Name pours down in his heart in a steady stream like the rainfall from a cloud.
(ਉਸ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼) ਬੱਦਲ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਨਾਮ-ਜਲ ਦੀਆਂ ਧਾਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਵਰਖਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਸਗਲੇ ਜੀਅ ਜੰਤ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਾਸੇ ॥
saglay jee-a jant tariptaasay.
All those who receive this rain of ambrosial nectar of Naam get satiated from the yearning for Maya, the worldly riches and power.
(ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਇਹ ਵਰਖਾ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਹ) ਸਾਰੇ ਜੀਵ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ ਤ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨਾ ਵਲੋਂ) ਰੱਜ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਕਾਰਜ ਆਏ ਪੂਰੇ ਰਾਸੇ ॥੧॥
kaaraj aa-ay pooray raasay. ||1||
All of their affairs get resolved successfully. ||1||
ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਕੰਮ ਸਿਰੇ ਚੜ੍ਹ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੧॥
ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਮਨ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਮ੍ਹ੍ਹਾਲਿ ॥
sadaa sadaa man naam samHaal.
O’ my mind, keep remembering God’s Name with love forever.
ਹੇ (ਮੇਰੇ) ਮਨ! ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਯਾਦ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਹੁ।
ਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੇ ਕੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਪਾਇਆ ਐਥੈ ਓਥੈ ਨਿਬਹੈ ਨਾਲਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
gur pooray kee sayvaa paa-i-aa aithai othai nibhai naal. ||1|| rahaa-o.
By following the Guru’s teachings, we are blessed with God’s Name which remains with us both here and hereafter. ||1||Pause||
(ਇਹ ਨਾਮ) ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪਿਆਂ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਲੋਕ ਤੇ ਪਰਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ (ਜੀਵ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ) ਸਾਥ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਦੁਖੁ ਭੰਨਾ ਭੈ ਭੰਜਨਹਾਰ ॥
dukh bhannaa bhai bhanjanhaar.
God, who is the destroyer of all sorrows and fears of human beings,
(ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ) ਸਾਰੇ ਡਰ ਨਾਸ ਕਰ ਸਕਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ-
ਆਪਣਿਆ ਜੀਆ ਕੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਸਾਰ ॥
aapni-aa jee-aa kee keetee saar.
has taken care of the creatures created by Him and has removed all their sorrows.
ਆਪਣੇ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤੇ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਦਾ ਸੰਭਾਲ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ, ਤੇ (ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦਾ) ਹਰੇਕ ਦੁੱਖ ਦੂਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ।
ਰਾਖਨਹਾਰ ਸਦਾ ਮਿਹਰਵਾਨ ॥
raakhanhaar sadaa miharvaan.
God with the ability to protect is always merciful to the creatures,
ਰੱਖਿਆ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਸਮਰਥਾ ਵਾਲਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ (ਜੀਵਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ) ਸਦਾ ਦਇਆਵਾਨ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਜਾਈਐ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ॥੨॥
sadaa sadaa jaa-ee-ai kurbaan. ||2||
and we should always be dedicated to Him. ||2||
ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਸਦਾ ਸਦਕੇ ਜਾਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਕਾਲੁ ਗਵਾਇਆ ਕਰਤੈ ਆਪਿ ॥
kaal gavaa-i-aa kartai aap.
Whosoever has remembered Naam with devotion, the Creator has eliminated the fear of death from his mind.
(ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਭੀ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਿਆ ਹੈ) ਕਰਤਾਰ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਿਰ ਤੋਂ ਮੌਤ ਦਾ ਡਰ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਮਨ ਤਿਸ ਨੋ ਜਾਪਿ ॥
sadaa sadaa man tis no jaap.
Therefore, O’ my mind, forever remember God’ Name.
(ਤਾਂ ਤੇ) ਹੇ ਮਨ! ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਿਆ ਕਰ।
ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਧਾਰਿ ਰਾਖੇ ਸਭਿ ਜੰਤ ॥
darisat Dhaar raakhay sabh jant.
God has always protected all living beings by bestowing on them a glance of His grace.
(ਉਸ ਭਗਵਾਨ ਨੇ) ਮਿਹਰ ਦੀ ਨਿਗਾਹ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੀ (ਸਦਾ) ਰੱਖਿਆ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ।
ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵਹੁ ਨਿਤ ਨਿਤ ਭਗਵੰਤ ॥੩॥
gun gaavhu nit nit bhagvant. ||3||
Every day, keep singing the glorious praises of God. ||3||
ਭਗਵਾਨ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਗਾਂਦੇ ਰਹੋ ॥੩॥
ਏਕੋ ਕਰਤਾ ਆਪੇ ਆਪ ॥
ayko kartaa aapay aap.
O’ my friends, the one and only Creator Himself is present everywhere.
ਕਰਤਾਰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਆਪ (ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਮੌਜੂਦ) ਹੈ,
ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਭਗਤ ਜਾਣਹਿ ਪਰਤਾਪ ॥
har kay bhagat jaaneh partaap.
The devotees of God understand His glory.
ਉਸਦੇ ਭਗਤ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਤੇਜ-ਪਰਤਾਪ ਜਾਣਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਨਾਵੈ ਕੀ ਪੈਜ ਰਖਦਾ ਆਇਆ ॥
naavai kee paij rakh-daa aa-i-aa.
He has always been preserving the honor of His Name.
(ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਇਸ) ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਲਾਜ (ਸਦਾ ਹੀ) ਰੱਖਦਾ ਆ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
ਨਾਨਕੁ ਬੋਲੈ ਤਿਸ ਕਾ ਬੋਲਾਇਆ ॥੪॥੩॥੨੧॥
naanak bolai tis kaa bolaa-i-aa. ||4||3||21||
Nanak speaks God’s words of praise only under His inspiration. ||4||3||21||
ਉਸ ਦਾ ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ ਉਸ (ਕਰਤਾਰ) ਦਾ ਪਰੇਰਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੀ (ਉਸਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦਾ ਬੋਲ) ਬੋਲਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੪॥੩॥੨੧॥

Raag Malaar, Fifth Guru:
ਗੁਰ ਸਰਣਾਈ ਸਗਲ ਨਿਧਾਨ ॥
gur sarnaa-ee sagal niDhaan.
By staying in the Guru’s refuge, one feels as if he is blessed with all the treasures of the world,
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪਏ ਰਿਹਾਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ (ਮਿਲ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ);
ਸਾਚੀ ਦਰਗਹਿ ਪਾਈਐ ਮਾਨੁ ॥
saachee dargahi paa-ee-ai maan.
and he is honored in the presence of eternal God,
ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਰੱਬੀ ਦਰਗਾਹ ਵਿਚ ਆਦਰ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਭ੍ਰਮੁ ਭਉ ਦੂਖੁ ਦਰਦੁ ਸਭੁ ਜਾਇ ॥
bharam bha-o dookh darad sabh jaa-ay.
One who sings the praises of God, all his illusions, dread, sorrow, and pain vanish.
(ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇਗੁਣ ਗਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦਾ) ਭਰਮ; ਡਰ, ਹਰੇਕ ਦੁੱਖ-ਦਰਦ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਸਦ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਇ ॥੧॥
saaDhsang sad har gun gaa-ay. ||1||
Therefore, we should always sing the glorious praises of God in the congregation of holy persons, ||1||
(ਤਾਂ ਤੇ) ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਰਹਿ ਕੇ ਸਦਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਇਆ ਕਰ ॥੧॥
ਮਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰਾ ਸਾਲਾਹਿ ॥
man mayray gur pooraa saalaahi.
O’ my mind, always praise the true Guru.
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ! ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ (ਸਦਾ) ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕਰਿਆ ਕਰ।
ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ਜਪਹੁ ਦਿਨੁ ਰਾਤੀ ਮਨ ਚਿੰਦੇ ਫਲ ਪਾਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
naam niDhaan japahu din raatee man chinday fal paa-ay. ||1|| rahaa-o.
Day and night sing the praises of God’s Name-the treasure of inner happiness; anyone who does that acquires the fruits of his heart’s desires. ||1||Pause||
ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਿਆ ਕਰ (ਇਹੀ ਹੈ ਸਾਰੇ ਸੁਖਾਂ ਦਾ) ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ। (ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਜਪਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ) ਮਨ-ਮੰਗੇ ਫਲ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਜੇਵਡੁ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਇ ॥
satgur jayvad avar na ko-ay.
No one equals the Guru in bestowing the blessings on his followers.
(ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਸ਼ਾਂ ਕਰਨ ਵਿਚ) ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਬਰਾਬਰ ਦਾ ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ।
ਗੁਰੁ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਪਰਮੇਸਰੁ ਸੋਇ ॥
gur paarbarahm parmaysar so-ay.
The Guru is the embodiment of the transcendent, supreme God Himself.
ਉਹ ਗੁਰੂ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਹੈ, ਗੁਰੂ ਪਰਮੇਸਰ ਹੈ।
ਜਨਮ ਮਰਣ ਦੂਖ ਤੇ ਰਾਖੈ ॥
janam maran dookh tay raakhai.
The Guru saves us from the sorrows of the cycle of death and birth.
ਗੁਰੂ ਜੰਮਣ ਮਰਨ ਦੇ ਗੇੜ ਦੇ ਦੁੱਖਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਮਾਇਆ ਬਿਖੁ ਫਿਰਿ ਬਹੁੜਿ ਨ ਚਾਖੈ ॥੨॥
maa-i-aa bikh fir bahurh na chaakhai. ||2||
One who comes in the Guru’s refuge, does not keep on consuming the poison of worldly riches, the cause of spiritual deterioration. ||2||
(ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ) ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤ ਲਿਆਉਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਜ਼ਹਰ ਨੂੰ ਮੁੜ ਮੁੜ ਸੁਆਦ ਲਾ ਲਾ ਕੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਚੱਖਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ॥੨॥
ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਮਹਿਮਾ ਕਥਨੁ ਨ ਜਾਇ ॥
gur kee mahimaa kathan na jaa-ay.
O’ my friends, the glory of the Guru cannot be described.
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਬਿਆਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੀ।
ਗੁਰੁ ਪਰਮੇਸਰੁ ਸਾਚੈ ਨਾਇ ॥
gur parmaysar saachai naa-ay.
The Guru is the embodiment of the supreme God, and remains attuned to the Name of the eternal God.
ਗੁਰੂ ਪਰਮੇਸਰ (ਦਾ ਰੂਪ) ਹੈ, ਗੁਰੂ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ) ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ (ਲੀਨ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ)।
ਸਚੁ ਸੰਜਮੁ ਕਰਣੀ ਸਭੁ ਸਾਚੀ ॥
sach sanjam karnee sabh saachee.
True is Guru’s austerity and true is all the conduct of his life.
ਸੱਚਾ ਹੈ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਵੈ-ਜਬਤ ਅਤੇ ਸੱਚੇ ਹਨ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਕਰਮ।
ਸੋ ਮਨੁ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਜੋ ਗੁਰ ਸੰਗਿ ਰਾਚੀ ॥੩॥
so man nirmal jo gur sang raachee. ||3||
The mind that remains imbued with the love of the Guru becomes immaculate and pure. ||3||
ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮਨ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਵਿਚ ਮਸਤ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਮਨ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰਾ ਪਾਈਐ ਵਡ ਭਾਗਿ ॥
gur pooraa paa-ee-ai vad bhaag.
Only by good fortune does one meet the perfect Guru,
ਪੂਰਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਵੱਡੀ ਕਿਸਮਤ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ.
ਕਾਮੁ ਕ੍ਰੋਧੁ ਲੋਭੁ ਮਨ ਤੇ ਤਿਆਗਿ ॥
kaam kroDh lobh man tay ti-aag.
and one who does, forsakes lust, anger and greed from his mind,
(ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਪਣੇ) ਮਨ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਕਾਮ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਲੋਭ (ਆਦਿਕ ਵਿਕਾਰ) ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਦਿਂਦਾ ਹੈ
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਗੁਰ ਚਰਣ ਨਿਵਾਸਿ ॥ ਨਾਨਕ ਕੀ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਚੁ ਅਰਦਾਸਿ ॥੪॥੪॥੨੨॥
kar kirpaa gur charan nivaas. naanak kee parabh sach ardaas. ||4||4||22||
O’ God, this is the true prayer of Nanak, bestowing mercy, enshrine Guru’s teachings in my heart. ||4||4||22||
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਨਾਨਕ ਦੀ ਇਹ ਅਰਦਾਸ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਉਹ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕਾਈ ਰਖ. ॥੪॥੪॥੨੨॥

ਰਾਗ ਮਲਾਰ, ਘਰ ੩ ਵਿੱਚ ਗੁਰੂ ਅਰਜਨਦੇਵ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ ‘ਪੜਤਾਲ’।
ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥
ik-oNkaar satgur parsaad.
One eternal God, realized by the grace of the True Guru:
ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਗੁਰ ਮਨਾਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਿਅ ਦਇਆਰ ਸਿਉ ਰੰਗੁ ਕੀਆ ॥
gur manaar pari-a da-i-aar si-o rang kee-aa.
O’ my friend, the human being who, after pleasing the Guru by following his teachings, began to enjoy the spiritual bliss of the merciful God’s Name,
ਹੇ ਸਖੀ! (ਜਿਸ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ) ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨਤਾ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਦਇਆ ਦੇ ਸੋਮੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨਾਲ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਨੰਦ ਮਾਨਣਾ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ,
ਕੀਨੋ ਰੀ ਸਗਲ ਸੀਗਾਰ ॥
keeno ree sagal seeNgaar.
and embellished himself with all high spiritual qualities,
ਉਸ ਨੇ ਸਾਰੇ (ਆਤਮਕ) ਸਿੰਗਾਰ ਕਰ ਲਏ (ਭਾਵ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਉੱਚੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਗੁਣ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋ ਗਏ).
ਤਜਿਓ ਰੀ ਸਗਲ ਬਿਕਾਰ ॥
taji-o ree sagal bikaar.
renounced all vices,
ਉਸ ਨੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਵਿਕਾਰ ਤਿਆਗ ਦਿੱਤੇ,
ਧਾਵਤੋ ਅਸਥਿਰੁ ਥੀਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Dhaavto asthir thee-aa. ||1|| rahaa-o.
and his wandering mind ceased to waver. ||1||Pause||
ਉਸ ਦਾ (ਪਹਿਲਾ) ਭਟਕਦਾ ਮਨ ਡੋਲਣੋਂ ਹਟ ਗਿਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਐਸੇ ਰੇ ਮਨ ਪਾਇ ਕੈ ਆਪੁ ਗਵਾਇ ਕੈ ਕਰਿ ਸਾਧਨ ਸਿਉ ਸੰਗੁ ॥
aisay ray man paa-ay kai aap gavaa-ay kai kar saaDhan si-o sang.
O’ my mind, similarly, by realizing God and dispelling your self-conceit, you should also associate with the company of holy persons.
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ! ਤੂੰ ਭੀ ਇਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਮਿਲਾਪ) ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰ ਕੇ (ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ) ਆਪਾ-ਭਾਵ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਸੰਗਤ ਕਰਿਆ ਕਰ।
ਬਾਜੇ ਬਜਹਿ ਮ੍ਰਿਦੰਗ ਅਨਾਹਦ ਕੋਕਿਲ ਰੀ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮੁ ਬੋਲੈ ਮਧੁਰ ਬੈਨ ਅਤਿ ਸੁਹੀਆ ॥੧॥
baajay bajeh maridang anaahad kokil ree raam naam bolai maDhur bain at suhee-aa. ||1||
You would also enjoy it as if you are playing celestial musical instruments and, like a cuckoo, your tongue would gracefully sing God’s praises. ||1||
(ਤੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਐਸਾ ਆਨੰਦ ਬਣਿਆ ਰਹੇਗਾ, ਜਿਵੇਂ) ਇਕ-ਰਸ ਢੋਲ ਆਦਿਕ ਸਾਜ਼ ਵੱਜ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ, (ਤੇਰੀ ਜੀਭ ਇਉਂ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ (ਉਚਾਰਿਆ ਕਰੇਗੀ, ਜਿਵੇਂ) ਕੋਇਲ ਮਿੱਠੇ ਅਤੇ ਬੜੇ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਬੋਲ ਬੋਲਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਐਸੀ ਤੇਰੇ ਦਰਸਨ ਕੀ ਸੋਭ ਅਤਿ ਅਪਾਰ ਪ੍ਰਿਅ ਅਮੋਘ ਤੈਸੇ ਹੀ ਸੰਗਿ ਸੰਤ ਬਨੇ ॥
aisee tayray darsan kee sobh at apaar pari-a amogh taisay hee sang sant banay.
O’ dear infinite God, the glory of Your blessed vision is such that it never fails to succeed in piercing the heart of Your saints; so much so that they also become like You,
ਹੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਹੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੇਰੇ ਦਰਸਨ ਦੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਅਜਿਹੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਸਫਲਤਾ ਦੇ ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨੇ ਤੋਂ ਉੱਕਦੀ ਨਹੀਂ। ਤੇਰੇ ਸੰਤ ਭੀ ਤੇਰੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜ ਕੇ (ਤੇਰੇ ਵਰਗੇ) ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ,
ਭਵ ਉਤਾਰ ਨਾਮ ਭਨੇ ॥
bhav utaar naam bhanay.
by remembering Your Name which ferries one across the dreadful world-ocean of vices.
ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪ ਜਪ ਕੇ-
ਰਮ ਰਾਮ ਰਾਮ ਮਾਲ ॥
ram raam raam maal.
