ਜਬ ਪ੍ਰਿਅ ਆਇ ਬਸੇ ਗ੍ਰਿਹਿ ਆਸਨਿ ਤਬ ਹਮ ਮੰਗਲੁ ਗਾਇਆ ॥
jab pari-a aa-ay basay garihi aasan tab ham mangal gaa-i-aa.
O’ my friends, ever since God’s Name has manifested in my heart, I keep singing His glorious praises.
ਹੇ ਸਖੀ! ਜਦੋਂ ਤੋਂ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ-ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਆ ਵੱਸੇ ਹਨ, ਮੇਰੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ-ਤਖ਼ਤ ਉੱਤੇ ਆ ਬੈਠੇ ਹਨ, ਤਦੋਂ ਤੋਂ ਮੈਂ ਉਸੇ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੇ ਗੀਤ ਗਾਂਦੀ ਹਾਂ।
ਮੀਤ ਸਾਜਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਭਏ ਸੁਹੇਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਪੂਰਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲਾਇਆ ॥੩॥
meet saajan mayray bha-ay suhaylay parabh pooraa guroo milaa-i-aa. ||3||
Following the Guru’s teachings I have realized God, and now all my friends and companions (sensory organs are) calm.||3||
ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਪੂਰਨ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਮਿਲਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ, ਮੇਰੇ ਇੰਦ੍ਰੇ ਸੌਖੇ (ਸ਼ਾਂਤ) ਹੋ ਗਏ ਹਨ ॥੩॥
ਸਖੀ ਸਹੇਲੀ ਭਏ ਅਨੰਦਾ ਗੁਰਿ ਕਾਰਜ ਹਮਰੇ ਪੂਰੇ ॥
sakhee sahaylee bha-ay anandaa gur kaaraj hamray pooray.
By following the Guru’s teachings, all my tasks have been accomplished, and now all my friends and companions (sensory organs) are in bliss.
ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਕੰਮ ਸਵਾਰ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਹਨ, ਮੇਰੀਆਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਇੰਦ੍ਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਨੰਦ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਵਰੁ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਸੁਖਦਾਤਾ ਛੋਡਿ ਨ ਜਾਈ ਦੂਰੇ ॥੪॥੩॥
kaho naanak var mili-aa sukh-daata chhod na jaa-ee dooray. ||4||3||
O’ Nanak, say, he who has realized Master-God, the bestower of all comforts, does not abandon him and does not go away from him. ||4||3||
ਨਾਨਕ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ- (ਹੇ ਸਖੀ!) ਸਾਰੇ ਸੁਖ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਤੀ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਪਿਆ ਹੈ। ਹੁਣ ਉਹ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਕਿਤੇ ਦੂਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਂਦਾ ॥੪॥੩॥

Raag Malaar, Fifth Guru:
ਰਾਜ ਤੇ ਕੀਟ ਕੀਟ ਤੇ ਸੁਰਪਤਿ ਕਰਿ ਦੋਖ ਜਠਰ ਕਉ ਭਰਤੇ ॥
raaj tay keet keet tay surpat kar dokh jathar ka-o bhartay.
From kings to worms and from worms to lord Indira, the king of all gods, no matter who they are, if they do sinful deeds they all go through reincarnations.
ਰਾਜਿਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਕੀੜਿਆਂ ਤਕ, ਕੀੜਿਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਇੰਦ੍ਰ ਦੇਵਤੇ ਤਕ (ਕੋਈ ਭੀ ਹੋਵੇ) ਪਾਪ ਕਰ ਕੇ (ਸਾਰੇ) ਗਰਭ-ਜੂਨ ਵਿਚ ਪੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ ।
ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਨਿਧਿ ਛੋਡਿ ਆਨ ਕਉ ਪੂਜਹਿ ਆਤਮ ਘਾਤੀ ਹਰਤੇ ॥੧॥
kirpaa niDh chhod aan ka-o poojeh aatam ghaatee hartay. ||1||
The mortals who forsake God, the ocean of mercy, and worship others instead, are like thieves and killers of their own spiritual life.||1||
ਜਿਹੜੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ਦਇਆ ਦੇ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਹੋਰ ਹੋਰ ਨੂੰ ਪੂਜਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਚੋਰ ਹਨ ਉਹ ਆਪਣਾ ਆਤਮਾ ਘਾਤ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੧॥
ਹਰਿ ਬਿਸਰਤ ਤੇ ਦੁਖਿ ਦੁਖਿ ਮਰਤੇ ॥
har bisrat tay dukh dukh martay.
O’ my friends, the human beings who forsake God, are miserable and they continue to suffer spiritual deterioration.
ਜਿਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਭੁਲਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਉਹ ਦੁਖੀ ਹੋ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤ ਸਹੇੜਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਅਨਿਕ ਬਾਰ ਭ੍ਰਮਹਿ ਬਹੁ ਜੋਨੀ ਟੇਕ ਨ ਕਾਹੂ ਧਰਤੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
anik baar bharmeh baho jonee tayk na kaahoo Dhartay. ||1|| rahaa-o.
Such human beings continue to wander in many existences, and they cannot find any solace to escape from this cycle of reincarnations. ||1||Pause||
ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਵਾਰੀ ਕਈ ਜੂਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਭਟਕਦੇ ਫਿਰਦੇ ਹਨ, (ਇਸ ਗੇੜ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਬਚਣ ਲਈ) ਉਹ ਕਿਸੇ ਦਾ ਭੀ ਆਸਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਸਕਦੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਤਿਆਗਿ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਆਨ ਕਉ ਚਿਤਵਤ ਮੂੜ ਮੁਗਧ ਖਲ ਖਰ ਤੇ ॥
ti-aag su-aamee aan ka-o chitvat moorh mugaDh khal khar tay.
Those who forsake their Master-God and worship someone else are fools, they are like donkeys.
ਮਾਲਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਹੋਰ ਨੂੰ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਵਸਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਉਹ ਮੂਰਖ ਹਨ ਉਹ ਖੋਤੇ ਹਨ।
ਕਾਗਰ ਨਾਵ ਲੰਘਹਿ ਕਤ ਸਾਗਰੁ ਬ੍ਰਿਥਾ ਕਥਤ ਹਮ ਤਰਤੇ ॥੨॥
kaagar naav langheh kat saagar baritha kathat ham tartay. ||2||
Worshiping someone other than God is like trying to cross the ocean on a paper boat, but claim in vain that they are crossing over the world-ocean of vices. ||2||
(ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਹੋਰ ਹੋਰ ਦੀ ਪੂਜਾ ਕਾਗ਼ਜ਼ ਦੀ ਬੇੜੀ ਵਿਚ ਚੜ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਸਮੁੰਦਰੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘਣ ਦੇ ਜਤਨ ਸਮਾਨ ਹਨ) ਕਾਗ਼ਜ਼ ਦੀ ਬੇੜੀ ਤੇ (ਚੜ੍ਹ ਕੇ) ਕਿਵੇਂ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਨ? ਉਹ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਹੀ ਆਖਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਅਸੀਂ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘ ਰਹੇ ਹਾਂ ॥੨॥
ਸਿਵ ਬਿਰੰਚਿ ਅਸੁਰ ਸੁਰ ਜੇਤੇ ਕਾਲ ਅਗਨਿ ਮਹਿ ਜਰਤੇ ॥
siv biranch asur sur jaytay kaal agan meh jartay.
Shiva, Brahma, angels and demons as many as they are, forsaking God’s Name they all burn in the fire of spiritual deteriration.
ਸ਼ਿਵ, ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ, ਦੈਂਤ, ਦੇਵਤੇ-ਇਹ ਜਿਤਨੇ ਭੀ ਹਨ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਭੁਲਾ ਕੇ ਸਭ) ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤ ਦੀ ਅੱਗ ਵਿਚ ਸੜਦੇ ਹਨ l
ਨਾਨਕ ਸਰਨਿ ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲਨ ਕੀ ਤੁਮ੍ਹ੍ਹ ਨ ਡਾਰਹੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਰਤੇ ॥੩॥੪॥
naanak saran charan kamlan kee tumH na daarahu parabh kartay. ||3||4||
Nanak seeks God’s immaculate Name, and keeps praying: O’ creator-God, please do not let me forsake Your immaculate Name. ||3||4||
ਨਾਨਕ ਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਕੰਵਲ ਪੈਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਪਨਾਹ ਲਈ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰ ਸੁਆਮੀ! ਤੂੰ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਦੂਰ ਨਾਂ ਹਟਾ ॥੩॥੪॥।

ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥
ik-oNkaar satgur parsaad.
One eternal God, realized by the grace of the True Guru:
ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮੇਰੇ ਓਇ ਬੈਰਾਗੀ ਤਿਆਗੀ ॥
parabh mayray o-ay bairaagee ti-aagee.
Those human beings who are imbued with God’s Name, remain free from the love of Maya, the worldly riches and power.
ਜਿਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਮੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਵਾਨ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਉਹ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਤੋਂ ਬਚੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਹਉ ਇਕੁ ਖਿਨੁ ਤਿਸੁ ਬਿਨੁ ਰਹਿ ਨ ਸਕਉ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਹਮਾਰੀ ਲਾਗੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ha-o ik khin tis bin reh na saka-o pareet hamaaree laagee. ||1|| rahaa-o.
Without the remembrance of God’s Name, I cannot survive even for an instant; I am also imbued with His love. ||1||pause||
ਮੈਂ (ਭੀ) ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ (ਦੀ ਯਾਦ) ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਇਕ ਖਿਨ ਭਰ ਭੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹਿ ਸਕਦਾ। ਮੇਰੀ (ਭੀ ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨਾਲ) ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਲੱਗੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਉਨ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਮੋਹਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਚਿਤਿ ਆਵੈ ਸੰਤ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਮੋਹਿ ਜਾਗੀ ॥
un kai sang mohi parabh chit aavai sant parsaad mohi jaagee.
By the grace of God’s saints, I have awakened from the slumber of worldly allurements and in their company, I lovingly remember God in my mind.
(ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਵਾਨ) ਉਹਨਾਂ (ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ) ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ (ਰਹਿ ਕੇ) ਮੇਰੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ। ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮੈਨੂੰ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਦੀ ਨੀਂਦ ਵਿਚੋਂ) ਜਾਗ ਆ ਗਈ ਹੈ।
ਸੁਨਿ ਉਪਦੇਸੁ ਭਏ ਮਨ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਏ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਾਂਗੀ ॥੧॥
sun updays bha-ay man nirmal gun gaa-ay rang raaNgee. ||1||
Listening to their sermons, the mind becomes immaculate, and imbued with God’s Name, people begin to sing the glorious praises of God. ||1||
(ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ) ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਮਨ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ) ਰੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਰੰਗੀਜ ਕੇ (ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ) ਗੁਣ ਗਾਣ ਲੱਗ ਪੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੧॥
ਇਹੁ ਮਨੁ ਦੇਇ ਕੀਏ ਸੰਤ ਮੀਤਾ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲ ਭਏ ਬਡਭਾਗੀ ॥
ih man day-ay kee-ay sant meetaa kirpaal bha-ay badbhaageeN.
By surrendering one’s own mind, one can make friends with the holy persons; the holy persons become merciful to these fortunate ones.
(ਆਪਣਾ) ਇਹ ਮਨ ਹਵਾਲੇ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿੱਤਰ ਬਣਾ ਸਕੀਦਾ ਹੈ, (ਸੰਤ ਜਨ) ਵੱਡੇ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਦਇਆਵਾਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਮਹਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਬਰਨਿ ਨ ਸਾਕਉ ਰੇਨੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਜਨ ਪਾਗੀ ॥੨॥੧॥੫॥
mahaa sukh paa-i-aa baran na saaka-o rayn naanak jan paagee. ||2||1||5||
O’ Nanak! by performing humble service to the saintly persons, I have received such a great bliss which I cannot even describe.||2||1||5||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਮੈਂ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਧੂੜ ਨਾਲ ਇਤਨਾ ਮਹਾਨ ਅਨੰਦ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਬਿਆਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ ॥੨॥੧॥੫॥

ਮਾਈ ਮੋਹਿ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮੁ ਦੇਹੁ ਮਿਲਾਈ ॥
maa-ee mohi pareetam dayh milaa-ee.
O’ mother (my Guru) please help me realize my beloved God.
ਹੇ ਮਾਂ! ਮੈਨੂੰ (ਭੀ) ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਮਿਲਾ ਦੇ।
ਸਗਲ ਸਹੇਲੀ ਸੁਖ ਭਰਿ ਸੂਤੀ ਜਿਹ ਘਰਿ ਲਾਲੁ ਬਸਾਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
sagal sahaylee sukh bhar sootee jih ghar laal basaa-ee. ||1|| rahaa-o.
All my friends and companions who have enshrined God’s Name in their hearts, they all remain engrossed in spiritual bliss. ||1||Pause||
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ (ਸੰਤ-ਜਨ-ਸਹੇਲੀਆਂ) ਦੇ (ਹਿਰਦੇ) ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਸੋਹਣਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਸਹੇਲੀਆਂ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਵਿਚ ਮਗਨ ਰਹਿੰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਮੋਹਿ ਅਵਗਨ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸਦਾ ਦਇਆਲਾ ਮੋਹਿ ਨਿਰਗੁਨਿ ਕਿਆ ਚਤੁਰਾਈ ॥
mohi avgan parabh sadaa da-i-aalaa mohi nirgun ki-aa chaturaa-ee.
Although I have numerous shortcomings, yet God remains merciful to me; I am unvirtuous, how can I play clever tricks with my Master-God?
ਮੈਂ ਖੂਬੀਆਂ-ਰਹਿਤ ਹਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਸਦੀਵ ਹੀ ਮਿਹਰਬਾਨ ਹੈ। ਮੈਂ ਨੇਕੀ-ਵਿਹੂਣੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਨਾਲ ਕਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਚਲਾਕੀ ਖੇਲ੍ਹ ਸਕਦੀ ਹਾਂ?
ਕਰਉ ਬਰਾਬਰਿ ਜੋ ਪ੍ਰਿਅ ਸੰਗਿ ਰਾਤੀ ਇਹ ਹਉਮੈ ਕੀ ਢੀਠਾਈ ॥੧॥
kara-o baraabar jo pari-a sang raateeN ih ha-umai kee dheethaa-ee. ||1||
but still I equate myself to those who are imbued with God; this is the stubbornness of my ego.||1||
ਮੈਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਬਰਾਬਰੀ ਕਰਦੀ ਹਾਂ, ਜਿਹੜੀਆਂ ਪਿਆਰੇ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ) ਨਾਲ ਰੱਤੀਆਂ ਹੋਈਆਂ ਹਨ-ਇਹ ਤਾਂ ਮੇਰੀ ਹਉਮੈ ਦੀ ਢੀਠਤਾ ਹੀ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਭਈ ਨਿਮਾਣੀ ਸਰਨਿ ਇਕ ਤਾਕੀ ਗੁਰ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪੁਰਖ ਸੁਖਦਾਈ ॥
bha-ee nimaanee saran ik taakee gur satgur purakh sukh-daa-ee.
Now I have given up my pride, and look for the refuge of the true Guru, the provider of inner peace.
(ਹੇ ਮਾਂ!ਹੁਣ) ਮੈਂ ਮਾਣ ਛੱਡ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ, ਮੈਂ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਸੁਖਦਾਤੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪੁਰਖ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਰਨ ਤੱਕ ਲਈ ਹੈ।
ਏਕ ਨਿਮਖ ਮਹਿ ਮੇਰਾ ਸਭੁ ਦੁਖੁ ਕਾਟਿਆ ਨਾਨਕ ਸੁਖਿ ਰੈਨਿ ਬਿਹਾਈ ॥੨॥੨॥੬॥
ayk nimakh meh mayraa sabh dukh kaati-aa naanak sukh rain bihaa-ee. ||2||2||6||
O’ Nanak, the Guru has dispelled all my sorrows in the blink of an eye, and now my life is passing in bliss.||2||2||6||
(ਉਸ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ) ਅੱਖ ਝਮਕਣ ਜਿਤਨੇ ਸਮੇ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਮੇਰਾ ਸਾਰਾ ਦੁੱਖ ਕੱਟ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ, (ਹੁਣ) ਮੇਰੀ (ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਦੀ) ਰਾਤ ਆਨੰਦ ਵਿਚ ਬੀਤ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ ॥੨॥੨॥੬॥

ਬਰਸੁ ਮੇਘ ਜੀ ਤਿਲੁ ਬਿਲਮੁ ਨ ਲਾਉ ॥

O’ my Guru, like a cloud, pour down the rain of Naam in my heart and please do not delay.
ਹੇ ਨਾਮ-ਜਲ ਦੇ ਭੰਡਾਰ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ! (ਮੇਰੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਨਾਮ-ਜਲ ਦੀ) ਵਰਖਾ ਕਰ। ਰਤਾ ਭੀ ਢਿੱਲ ਨਾਹ ਕਰ।
ਬਰਸੁ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਮਨਹਿ ਸਧਾਰੇ ਹੋਇ ਅਨਦੁ ਸਦਾ ਮਨਿ ਚਾਉ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

O beloved Guru, supporter of my mind, pourdown the rain of Naam in my heart, which produces everlasting bliss and joy in my mind. ||1||Pause||
ਹੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ! ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਸਹਾਰਾ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਗੁਰੂ! (ਨਾਮ-ਜਲ ਦੀ) ਵਰਖਾ ਕਰ। (ਇਸ ਵਰਖਾ ਨਾਲ) ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਸਦਾ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ੀ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ ਸਦਾ ਆਨੰਦ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਹਮ ਤੇਰੀ ਧਰ ਸੁਆਮੀਆ ਮੇਰੇ ਤੂ ਕਿਉ ਮਨਹੁ ਬਿਸਾਰੇ ॥

O’ my Master God, I only have Your support, why do You forsake me from Your mind?
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੈਨੂੰ ਤੇਰਾ ਹੀ ਆਸਰਾ ਹੈ, ਤੂੰ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਤੋਂ ਕਿਉਂ ਵਿਸਾਰਦਾ ਹੈਂ?
