ਮਨ ਰਤਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਰਤੇ ਨਿਹਕੇਵਲ ਆਦਿ ਜੁਗਾਦਿ ਦਇਆਲਾ ॥੩॥
man rat naam ratay nihkayval aad jugaad da-i-aalaa. ||3||
Those whose hearts are imbued with love for God’s Name, always remain attached to God Who is pure and has been merciful throughout the ages. ||3||
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਪਿਆਰ ਵਿਚ (ਸਦਾ ਲਈ) ਰੰਗੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਜੋ ਸੁੱਧ-ਸਰੂਪ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਜੋ ਸਦਾ ਤੋਂ ਹੀ ਦਇਆ ਦਾ ਸੋਮਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਮੋਹਨਿ ਮੋਹਿ ਲੀਆ ਮਨੁ ਮੋਰਾ ਬਡੈ ਭਾਗ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਗੀ ॥
mohan mohi lee-aa man moraa badai bhaag liv laagee.
By good fortune, my mind is attuned to the captivating God, who has charmed my mind.
ਮੇਰੇ ਚੰਗੇ ਭਾਗਾਂ (ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ) ਮੇਰੀ ਲਿਵ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ) ਲੱਗ ਗਈ ਹੈ, ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਮੋਹ ਲੈਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨ (ਆਪਣੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਵਿਚ) ਮੋਹ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਸਾਚੁ ਬੀਚਾਰਿ ਕਿਲਵਿਖ ਦੁਖ ਕਾਟੇ ਮਨੁ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਅਨਰਾਗੀ ॥੪॥
saach beechaar kilvikh dukh kaatay man nirmal anraagee. ||4||
Reflecting upon the eternal God, my sins and sorrows have vanished and my mind has become immaculate in His love. ||4||
ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ (ਦੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ) ਨੂੰ ਸੋਚ-ਮੰਡਲ ਵਿਚ ਲਿਆਉਣ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਪਾਪ-ਦੁੱਖ ਕੱਟੇ ਗਏ ਹਨ, ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ, (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦਾ) ਪ੍ਰੇਮੀ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ॥੪॥
ਗਹਿਰ ਗੰਭੀਰ ਸਾਗਰ ਰਤਨਾਗਰ ਅਵਰ ਨਹੀ ਅਨ ਪੂਜਾ ॥
gahir gambheer saagar ratnaagar avar nahee an poojaa.
Other than God, who is an unfathomable deep ocean of gems of divine wisdom, I don’t look to worship anyone else.
ਮੈਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਹੋਰ ਦੀ ਪੂਜਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ, ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪੂਜਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਜੋ ਬੜੇ ਡੂੰਘੇ ਤੇ ਵੱਡੇ ਜਿਗਰੇ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਰਤਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਖਾਣ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਹੈ।
ਸਬਦੁ ਬੀਚਾਰਿ ਭਰਮ ਭਉ ਭੰਜਨੁ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਜਾਨਿਆ ਦੂਜਾ ॥੫॥
sabad beechaar bharam bha-o bhanjan avar na jaani-aa doojaa. ||5||
After reflecting on the Divine word, I have realized that God alone, and none other, is the destroyer of doubts and dreads . ||5||.
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਕੇ ਮੈਂ ਸਮਝ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਹੀ ਡਰ-ਸਹਿਮ ਦਾ ਨਾਸ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਕੋਈ ਹੋਰ (ਦੇਵੀ ਦੇਵਤਾ ਆਦਿਕ) ਦੂਜਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ ॥੫॥
ਮਨੂਆ ਮਾਰਿ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਪਦੁ ਚੀਨਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਰਸ ਰਤੇ ਅਧਿਕਾਈ ॥
manoo-aa maar nirmal pad cheeni-aa har ras ratay aDhikaa-ee.
I have been imbued with the love of God’s Name and subduing my mind, I have attained the state of supreme spiritual bliss.
ਹੁਣ ਮੈਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ-ਰਸ ਵਿਚ ਬਹੁਤ ਰੰਗਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਹਾਂ, ਮਨ (ਵਿਚੋਂ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਅੰਸ) ਮਾਰ ਕੇ ਮੈਂ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਆਤਮਕ ਦਰਜੇ ਨਾਲ ਡੂੰਘੀ ਸਾਂਝ ਪਾ ਲਈ ਹੈ।
ਏਕਸ ਬਿਨੁ ਮੈ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਜਾਨਾਂ ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਬੂਝ ਬੁਝਾਈ ॥੬॥
aykas bin mai avar na jaanaaN satgur boojh bujhaa-ee. ||6||
My true Guru has given me this understanding, so that, except for the oGod, I don’t recognize any other. ||6||
ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਸਮਝ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ, (ਹੁਣ) ਇਕ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਮੈਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਹੋਰ ਨੂੰ (ਉਸ ਵਰਗਾ) ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦਾ ॥੬॥
ਅਗਮ ਅਗੋਚਰੁ ਅਨਾਥੁ ਅਜੋਨੀ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਏਕੋ ਜਾਨਿਆ ॥
agam agochar anaath ajonee gurmat ayko jaani-aa.
Through the Guru’s Divine word I have realized that there is but One God, who is inaccessible, incomprehensible, has no Master and is beyond incarnations.
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਮੱਤ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਡੂੰਘੀ ਸਾਂਝ ਪਾਈ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਅਪਹੁੰਚ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਤਕ ਗਿਆਨ ਇੰਦ੍ਰਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਨਹੀਂ, ਜੋ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਆਪਣਾ ਖਸਮ-ਮਾਲਕ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਜੋ ਜੂਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਂਦਾ।
ਸੁਭਰ ਭਰੇ ਨਾਹੀ ਚਿਤੁ ਡੋਲੈ ਮਨ ਹੀ ਤੇ ਮਨੁ ਮਾਨਿਆ ॥੭॥
subhar bharay naahee chit dolai man hee tay man maani-aa. ||7||
Now my sense faculties are filled with divine wisdom, my mind doesn’t waver any more, and it has been convinced by itself. ||7||.
(ਇਸ ਸਾਂਝ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ) ਮੇਰੇ ਗਿਆਨ-ਇੰਦ੍ਰੇ (ਨਾਮ-ਰਸ ਨਾਲ) ਨਕਾ-ਨਕ ਭਰ ਗਏ ਹਨ, ਹੁਣ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨ (ਮਾਇਆ ਵਾਲੇ ਪਾਸੇ) ਡੋਲਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ, ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਹੀ ਟਿਕ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ॥੭॥
ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਅਕਥਉ ਕਥੀਐ ਕਹਉ ਕਹਾਵੈ ਸੋਈ ॥
gur parsaadee aktha-o kathee-ai kaha-o kahaavai so-ee.
It is only by the Guru’s grace that we can lovingly remember God who is beyond description, and I can only sing His praises when He inspires me to do it.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਸਰੂਪ ਬਿਆਨ ਤੋਂ ਪਰੇ ਹੈ। ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ। ਮੈਂ ਤਦੋਂ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕਰਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਦੀਨ ਦਇਆਲ ਹਮਾਰੇ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਜਾਨਿਆ ਕੋਈ ॥੮॥੨॥
naanak deen da-i-aal hamaaray avar na jaani-aa ko-ee. ||8||2||
O’ Nanak say, O God! You are my merciful Master, other than you, I do not recognize anyone else. ||8||2||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਦੀਨ ਦਇਆਲ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੈਨੂੰ ਤੇਰੇ ਵਰਗਾ ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿੱਸਦਾ, ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਸਾਂਝ ਪਾਈ ਹੈ ॥੮॥੨॥

One eternal God, realized by the grace of the True Guru:
ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਮਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਹਰਿ ਕੈ ਨਾਮਿ ਵਡਾਈ ॥
man mayray har kai naam vadaa-ee.
O’ my mind, one obtains true glory by meditating on God’s Name.
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ (ਜੁੜਿਆਂ ਲੋਕ ਪਰਲੋਕ ਦੀ) ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਮਿਲਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਹਰਿ ਬਿਨੁ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਜਾਣਾ ਕੋਈ ਹਰਿ ਕੈ ਨਾਮਿ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਗਤਿ ਪਾਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
har bin avar na jaanaa ko-ee har kai naam mukat gat paa-ee. ||1|| rahaa-o.
Other than God, I do not recognize anyone else, it is through God’s Name that one attains freedom from vices and sublime spiritual state. ||1||Pause||
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਮੈਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਹੋਰ ਨਾਲ ਡੂੰਘੀ ਸਾਂਝ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾਂਦਾ। ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਖ਼ਲਾਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਉੱਚੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਸਬਦਿ ਭਉ ਭੰਜਨੁ ਜਮਕਾਲ ਨਿਖੰਜਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਸੇਤੀ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਈ ॥
sabad bha-o bhanjan jamkaal nikhanjan har saytee liv laa-ee.
through the Guru’s word that I have realized God, the destroyer of worldly fears, and the fear of death; I have attuned my mind to God.
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਡਰ ਦੂਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਅਤੇ ਮੌਤ ਦਾ ਡਰ ਨਾਸ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਹਰੀ ਨਾਲ ਮੇਰੀ ਲਗਨ ਲੱਗ ਗਈ ਹੈ।
ਹਰਿ ਸੁਖਦਾਤਾ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਜਾਤਾ ਸਹਜੇ ਰਹਿਆ ਸਮਾਈ ॥੧॥
har sukh-daata gurmukh jaataa sehjay rahi-aa samaa-ee. ||1||
By following the Guru’s teachings, I have realized God, the giver of inner peace, and I remain absorbed in spiritual poise. ||1||
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪਿਆਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਸੁਖ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਹਰੀ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਂਝ ਬਣ ਗਈ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ॥੧॥
ਭਗਤਾਂ ਕਾ ਭੋਜਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮ ਨਿਰੰਜਨੁ ਪੈਨ੍ਹ੍ਹਣੁ ਭਗਤਿ ਬਡਾਈ ॥
bhagtaaN kaa bhojan har naam niranjan painHan bhagat badaa-ee.
The immaculate Name of God is the spiritual food of his devotees and His devotional worship is their garb and honor.
ਨਿਰਲੇਪ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ (ਹੀ) ਭਗਤ ਜਨਾਂ (ਦੇ ਆਤਮਾ) ਦੀ ਖ਼ੁਰਾਕ ਹੈ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਪੁਸ਼ਾਕ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਹੈ।
ਨਿਜ ਘਰਿ ਵਾਸਾ ਸਦਾ ਹਰਿ ਸੇਵਨਿ ਹਰਿ ਦਰਿ ਸੋਭਾ ਪਾਈ ॥੨॥
nij ghar vaasaa sadaa har sayvan har dar sobhaa paa-ee. ||2||
Those who always remember God, their mind stays within instead of running outside and they receive glory in His presence. ||2||
ਜਿਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਦਰ ਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਮਿਲਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਮਨਮੁਖ ਬੁਧਿ ਕਾਚੀ ਮਨੂਆ ਡੋਲੈ ਅਕਥੁ ਨ ਕਥੈ ਕਹਾਨੀ ॥
manmukh buDh kaachee manoo-aa dolai akath na kathai kahaanee.
The intellect of a self-willed person is weak, his mind always waivers and never utters the indescribable praises of God.
ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਤੁਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੀ ਅਕਲ ਹੋਛੀ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦਾ ਮਨ (ਮਾਇਆ ਵਿਚ) ਡੋਲਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਕਦੇ ਅਕੱਥ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ।
ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਨਿਹਚਲੁ ਹਰਿ ਮਨਿ ਵਸਿਆ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਸਾਚੀ ਬਾਨੀ ॥੩॥
gurmat nihchal har man vasi-aa amrit saachee baanee. ||3||
By following Guru’s word, one’s mind becomes steady, and by partaking the ambrosial nectar of Naam, God manifests in his mind. ||3||
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਮੱਤ ਉੱਤੇ ਤੁਰਿਆਂ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਅਡੋਲ-ਚਿੱਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਨਾਮ-ਜਲ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ, ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਵੱਸਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਮਨ ਕੇ ਤਰੰਗ ਸਬਦਿ ਨਿਵਾਰੇ ਰਸਨਾ ਸਹਜਿ ਸੁਭਾਈ ॥
man kay tarang sabad nivaaray rasnaa sahj subhaa-ee.
God’s Name calms the turbulent waves of the mind; and by singing His praises, the tongue finds poise and comfort.
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਮਨ ਦੀਆਂ ਦੌੜਾਂ-ਭੱਜਾਂ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਲਈਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ, ਗੁਰ-ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੀ ਜੀਭ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਵਿਚ ਟਿੱਕ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ।
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਮਿਲਿ ਰਹੀਐ ਸਦ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਜਿਨਿ ਹਰਿ ਸੇਤੀ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਈ ॥੪॥
satgur mil rahee-ai sad apunay jin har saytee liv laa-ee. ||4||
We should always remain united with our true Guru, who has attuned his mind to God. ||4||
ਆਪਣੇ ਗੁਰੂ (ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ) ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜੇ ਰਹਿਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿ (ਉਸ) ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਸੁਰਤ ਸਦਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਵਿਚ ਜੋੜ ਰੱਖੀ ਹੈ ॥੪॥
ਮਨੁ ਸਬਦਿ ਮਰੈ ਤਾ ਮੁਕਤੋ ਹੋਵੈ ਹਰਿ ਚਰਣੀ ਚਿਤੁ ਲਾਈ ॥
man sabad marai taa mukto hovai har charnee chit laa-ee.
When a person erases his ego through the Guru’s teaching, he finds freedom from vices, and remains absorbed in God’s immaculate Name.
(ਜਦੋਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ) ਮਨ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਆਪਾ-ਭਾਵ ਦੂਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਦੋਂ (ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ) ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਚਿੱਤ ਜੋੜ ਕੇ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੰਜੇ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਨਿਕਲ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਹਰਿ ਸਰੁ ਸਾਗਰੁ ਸਦਾ ਜਲੁ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਨਾਵੈ ਸਹਜਿ ਸੁਭਾਈ ॥੫॥
har sar saagar sadaa jal nirmal naavai sahj subhaa-ee. ||5||
God is like an ocean whose water is always pure and one who bathes (lovingly remembers Him) in it is imbued with spiritual peace and poise. ||5||
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ (ਮਾਨੋ, ਐਸਾ) ਸਰੋਵਰ ਹੈ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਹੈ (ਜਿਸ ਦਾ) ਜਲ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, (ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਇਸ ਵਿਚ) ਇਸ਼ਨਾਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੫॥
ਸਬਦੁ ਵੀਚਾਰਿ ਸਦਾ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਾਤੇ ਹਉਮੈ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਮਾਰੀ ॥
sabad veechaar sadaa rang raatay ha-umai tarisnaa maaree.
Those who meditate on the Guru’s word, are forever imbued with God’s love; their egotism and desires are erased.
ਜਿਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਵਸਾ ਕੇ (ਤੇ, ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ) ਹਉਮੈ ਅਤੇ ਤ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨਾ ਨੂੰ ਮੁਕਾ ਕੇ ਸਦਾ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ) ਪਿਆਰ-ਰੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਰੰਗੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ,
ਅੰਤਰਿ ਨਿਹਕੇਵਲੁ ਹਰਿ ਰਵਿਆ ਸਭੁ ਆਤਮ ਰਾਮੁ ਮੁਰਾਰੀ ॥੬॥
antar nihkayval har ravi-aa sabh aatam raam muraaree. ||6||
The immaculate God manifests within them and they see that supreme God pervading everywhere. ||6||
ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਸੁੱਧ-ਸਰੂਪ ਹਰੀ ਆ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ, (ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਹੀ ਦਿੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੬॥
ਸੇਵਕ ਸੇਵਿ ਰਹੇ ਸਚਿ ਰਾਤੇ ਜੋ ਤੇਰੈ ਮਨਿ ਭਾਣੇ ॥
sayvak sayv rahay sach raatay jo tayrai man bhaanay.
O’ God, the devotees who are pleasing to Your mind, remain imbued with Your true love and keep remembering and worshipping You.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਉਹੀ ਸੇਵਕ ਤੇਰੀ ਸੇਵਾ-ਭਗਤੀ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਰੰਗੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਜਿਹੜੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਲੱਗਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਦੁਬਿਧਾ ਮਹਲੁ ਨ ਪਾਵੈ ਜਗਿ ਝੂਠੀ ਗੁਣ ਅਵਗਣ ਨ ਪਛਾਣੇ ॥੭॥
dubiDhaa mahal na paavai jag jhoothee gun avgan na pachhaanay. ||7||
One who remains in duality, cannot discriminate between virtues and vices, is considered false in the world, and is never accepted in God’s presence. ||7||
ਮੇਰ-ਤੇਰ ਵਿਚ ਫਸੀ ਹੋਈ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਥਾਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੈ ਸਕਦੀ, ਉਹ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਵਿਚ ਭੀ ਆਪਣਾ ਇਤਬਾਰ ਗਵਾਈ ਰੱਖਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਇਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਛਾਣ ਸਕਦੀ ਕਿ ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਮੈਂ ਕਰ ਰਹੀ ਹਾਂ ਇਹ ਚੰਗਾ ਹੈ ਜਾਂ ਮਾੜਾ ॥੭॥
ਆਪੇ ਮੇਲਿ ਲਏ ਅਕਥੁ ਕਥੀਐ ਸਚੁ ਸਬਦੁ ਸਚੁ ਬਾਣੀ ॥
aapay mayl la-ay akath kathee-ai sach sabad sach banee.
When God Himself unites us with Him, only then we can sing the praises of His indescribable virtues through His true divine word.
ਜਦੋਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਜੋੜੇ, ਤਦੋਂ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਅਕੱਥ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ, ਤਦੋਂ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਬਾਣੀ ਦਾ ਉਚਾਰਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਸਾਚੇ ਸਚਿ ਸਮਾਣੇ ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਖਾਣੀ ॥੮॥੧॥
naanak saachay sach samaanay har kaa naam vakhaanee. ||8||1||
O’ Nanak, by lovingly remembering God’s Name, his true devotees remain merged with the eternal God. ||8||1||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਆਪਣੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਜੋੜਦਾ ਹੈ; ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰ ਸਿਮਰ ਕੇ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੮॥੧॥

Raag Saarang, Third Guru:
ਮਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਅਤਿ ਮੀਠਾ ॥
man mayray har kaa naam at meethaa.
O’ my mind, one who finds God’s Name to be supremely sweet,
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ! (ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਬਹੁਤ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਲੱਗਣ ਲੱਗ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ,,
