Raag Sarang, Fifth Guru:
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾ ਕੀ ਜੀਵਨਿ ॥
har har sant janaa kee jeevan.
O’ my friends, remembering God is the way of life of saintly people:
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਨਾ ਹੀ ਸਾਧੂਆਂ ਦੀ ਜਿੰਦ-ਜਾਨ ਹੈ।
ਬਿਖੈ ਰਸ ਭੋਗ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਸੁਖ ਸਾਗਰ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਰਸੁ ਪੀਵਨਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
bikhai ras bhog amrit sukh saagar raam naam ras peevan. ||1|| rahaa-o.
(Instead of enjoying) the sinful worldly pleasures, they drink the ambrosial nectar of the Name of God, the ocean of bliss. ||1||Pause||
ਪਾਪਾਂ ਭਰੀਆਂ ਮੌਜਾਂ ਮਾਣਨ ਦੀ ਥਾਂ, ਉਹ ਸੁਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਆਪਣੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ, ਦਾ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਪਾਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਸੰਚਨਿ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਧਨੁ ਰਤਨਾ ਮਨ ਤਨ ਭੀਤਰਿ ਸੀਵਨਿ ॥
sanchan raam naam Dhan ratnaa man tan bheetar seevan.
They amass the priceless wealth of God’s Name and enshrine it in their hearts as if they have sewn it in their mind and body.
ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ-ਧਨ ਇਕੱਠਾ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਨਾਮ-ਰਤਨ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ (ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਪ੍ਰੋ ਰੱਖਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਹਰਿ ਰੰਗ ਰਾਂਗ ਭਏ ਮਨ ਲਾਲਾ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਰਸ ਖੀਵਨਿ ॥੧॥
har rang raaNg bha-ay man laalaa raam naam ras kheevan. ||1||
They are so imbued with the love of God, as if they have been dyed deep red in God’s love, and they remain elated with the relish of God’s Name. ||1||
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ-ਰੰਗ ਨਾਲ ਰੰਗੀਜ ਕੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਗੂੜ੍ਹੇ ਰੰਗ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਰਸ ਨਾਲ ਮਸਤ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੧॥
ਜਿਉ ਮੀਨਾ ਜਲ ਸਿਉ ਉਰਝਾਨੋ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਸੰਗਿ ਲੀਵਨਿ ॥
ji-o meenaa jal si-o urjhaano raam naam sang leevan.
Just as the fish stays immersed in water, similarly the saints remain absorbed in God’s Name.
ਜਿਵੇਂ ਮੱਛੀ ਪਾਣੀ ਨਾਲ ਲਪਟੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ ਤਿਵੇਂ ਸੰਤ ਜਨ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਸੰਤ ਚਾਤ੍ਰਿਕ ਕੀ ਨਿਆਈ ਹਰਿ ਬੂੰਦ ਪਾਨ ਸੁਖ ਥੀਵਨਿ ॥੨॥੬੮॥੯੧॥
naanak sant chaatrik kee ni-aa-ee har boond paan sukh theevan. ||2||68||91||
O’ Nanak, the saints remain at peace after drinking a drop of the elixir of God’s Name, like the rainbirds are satiated by drinking a drop of rain.||2||68||91||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਸੰਤ ਜਨ ਪਪੀਹੇ ਵਾਂਗ ਹਨ (ਜਿਵੇਂ ਪਪੀਹਾ ਸ੍ਵਾਂਤੀ ਨਛੱਤ੍ਰ ਦੀ ਵਰਖਾ ਦੀ ਬੂੰਦ ਪੀ ਕੇ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਿਵੇਂ ਸੰਤ ਜਨ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਬੂੰਦ ਪੀ ਕੇ ਸੁਖੀ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੨॥੬੮॥੯੧॥

Raag Saarang, Fifth Guru:
ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਨਾਮਹੀਨ ਬੇਤਾਲ ॥
har kay naamheen baytaal.
O’ brother, people bereft of God’s Name are like ghosts,
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਸੱਖਣੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਭੂਤ-ਪ੍ਰੇਤ ਹੀ ਹਨ।
ਜੇਤਾ ਕਰਨ ਕਰਾਵਨ ਤੇਤਾ ਸਭਿ ਬੰਧਨ ਜੰਜਾਲ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
jaytaa karan karaavan taytaa sabh banDhan janjaal. ||1|| rahaa-o.
Whatever they do or get done, is nothing but worldly bonds and entanglements for them. ||1||Pause||
ਉਹ ਜਿਤਨਾ ਕੁਝ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਜਾਂ ਕਰਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਉਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਕੰਮ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀਆਂ ਫਾਹੀਆਂ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਜੰਜਾਲ ਹਨ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਬਿਨੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸੇਵ ਕਰਤ ਅਨ ਸੇਵਾ ਬਿਰਥਾ ਕਾਟੈ ਕਾਲ ॥
bin parabh sayv karat an sayvaa birthaa kaatai kaal.
Without devotional worship of God; serving others one spends his life in vain.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਹੋਰ ਹੋਰ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ (ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਪਣੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਦਾ) ਸਮਾ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਬਿਤਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਜਬ ਜਮੁ ਆਇ ਸੰਘਾਰੈ ਪ੍ਰਾਨੀ ਤਬ ਤੁਮਰੋ ਕਉਨੁ ਹਵਾਲ ॥੧॥
jab jam aa-ay sanghaarai paraanee tab tumro ka-un havaal. ||1||
O’ mortal, what would your condition be when the demon of death comes and takes your life away?
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ! (ਜੇ ਤੂੰ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਹੀ ਰਿਹਾ, ਤਾਂ) ਜਦੋਂ ਜਮਰਾਜ ਆ ਕੇ ਮਾਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਦੋਂ (ਸੋਚ) ਤੇਰਾ ਕੀਹ ਹਾਲ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ? ॥੧॥
ਰਾਖਿ ਲੇਹੁ ਦਾਸ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਕਉ ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਕਿਰਪਾਲ ॥
raakh layho daas apunay ka-o sadaa sadaa kirpaal.
O’ ever merciful God, please save Your devotee.
ਹੇ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਦਇਆਵਾਨ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ! ਆਪਣੇ ਦਾਸ ਦੀ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਕਰ।
ਸੁਖ ਨਿਧਾਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਮੇਰਾ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਧਨ ਮਾਲ ॥੨॥੬੯॥੯੨॥
sukh niDhaan naanak parabh mayraa saaDhsang Dhan maal. ||2||69||92||
O’ Nanak, my God is the treasure of all comforts and bliss, the wealth of His Name is attained only in the holy congregation. ||2||69||92||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਮੇਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਸਾਰੇ ਸੁਖਾਂ ਦਾ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ-ਧਨ ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥੬੯॥੯੨॥

Raag Sarang, Fifth Guru:
ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਰਾਮ ਕੋ ਬਿਉਹਾਰੁ ॥
man tan raam ko bi-uhaar.
Those who always remain engaged in remembering God in their mind and in their heart,
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਸਦਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ (ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਦਾ ਹੀ) ਆਹਰ ਹੈ,
ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਭਗਤਿ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਵਨ ਗੀਧੇ ਪੋਹਤ ਨਹ ਸੰਸਾਰੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
paraym bhagat gun gaavan geeDhay pohat nah sansaar. ||1|| rahaa-o.
are imbued with loving devotion of God and are appeased in singing God’s praises; O’ brother, the worldly allurements cannot afflict them. ||1||Pause||
ਜੋ ਪ੍ਰੇਮਾ ਭਗਤੀ ਦੇ ਮਤਵਾਲੇ ਹਨ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਣ ਵਿਚ ਗਿੱਝੇ ਹਨ: ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਗਤ ਦਾ ਮੋਹ ਪੋਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਸ੍ਰਵਣੀ ਕੀਰਤਨੁ ਸਿਮਰਨੁ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਇਹੁ ਸਾਧ ਕੋ ਆਚਾਰੁ ॥
sarvanee keertan simran su-aamee ih saaDh ko aachaar.
Listening to the praises of God with their ears and lovingly remembering God is the daily routine of the saints.
ਕੰਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਸੁਣਨੀ, ਜੀਭ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਨਾ-ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਇਹ ਨਿੱਤ ਦੀ ਕਾਰ ਹੋਇਆ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲ ਅਸਥਿਤਿ ਰਿਦ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਪੂਜਾ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਕੋ ਆਧਾਰੁ ॥੧॥
charan kamal asthit rid antar poojaa paraan ko aaDhaar. ||1||
God’s immaculate Name remains enshrined in their hearts forever and the devotional worship of God is the mainstay of their life. ||1||
ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਟਿਕਾਉ ਬਣਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਪੂਜਾ-ਭਗਤੀ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਦੀਨ ਦਇਆਲ ਸੁਨਹੁ ਬੇਨੰਤੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਅਪਨੀ ਧਾਰੁ
parabh deen da-i-aal sunhu baynantee kirpaa apnee Dhaar.
O’ the merciful God of the meek, hear my prayer and bestow grace upon me,
ਹੇ ਦੀਨਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਦਇਆ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! (ਮੇਰੀ) ਬੇਨਤੀ ਸੁਣ, (ਮੇਰੇ ਉਤੇ) ਆਪਣੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰ!
ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ਉਚਰਉ ਨਿਤ ਰਸਨਾ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਦ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੁ ॥੨॥੭੦॥੯੩॥
naam niDhaan uchara-o nit rasnaa naanak sad balihaar. ||2||70||93||
so that I may always utter with my tongue Your Name, the treasure of Naam; Nanak is forever dedicated to You. ||2||70||93||
ਤਾਂਕਿ ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਜੋ (ਸਭ ਪਦਾਰਥਾਂ ਦਾ) ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਹੈ ਮੈਂ ਇਹ ਨਾਮ ਜੀਭ ਨਾਲ ਸਦਾ ਉਚਰਦਾ ਰਹਾਂ, ਨਾਨਕ ਸਦੀਵ ਹੀ ਤੇਰੇ ਉਤੇ ਸਦਕੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥੭੦॥੯੩॥

Raag Sarang, Fifth Guru:
ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਨਾਮਹੀਨ ਮਤਿ ਥੋਰੀ ॥
har kay naamheen mat thoree.
Those who are deprived of God’ Name, their intellect becomes shallow,
ਜਿਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਵਾਂਝੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਮੱਤ ਹੋਛੀ ਜਿਹੀ ਹੀ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਸਿਮਰਤ ਨਾਹਿ ਸਿਰੀਧਰ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਮਿਲਤ ਅੰਧ ਦੁਖ ਘੋਰੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
simrat naahi sireeDhar thaakur milat anDh dukh ghoree. ||1|| rahaa-o.
they do not remember God, the Master of wealth; blinded by the love for Maya, they endure terrible sufferings. ||1||Pause||
ਉਹ ਲੱਖਮੀ-ਪਤੀ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਿਮਰਦੇ। ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਵਿਚ ਅੰਨ੍ਹੇ ਹੋ ਚੁਕੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਭਿਆਨਕ (ਆਤਮਕ) ਦੁੱਖ-ਕਲੇਸ ਵਾਪਰਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਉ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਨ ਲਾਗੀ ਅਨਿਕ ਭੇਖ ਬਹੁ ਜੋਰੀ ॥
har kay naam si-o pareet na laagee anik bhaykh baho joree.
Those who do not develop love for God’s Name, they remain attached to various religious sects,
ਜਿਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਨਾਲ ਪਿਆਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾਂਦੇ, ਉਹ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਧਾਰਮਿਕ ਭੇਖਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਜੋੜੀ ਰੱਖਦੇ ਹਨ,
ਤੂਟਤ ਬਾਰ ਨ ਲਾਗੈ ਤਾ ਕਉ ਜਿਉ ਗਾਗਰਿ ਜਲ ਫੋਰੀ ॥੧॥
tootat baar na laagai taa ka-o ji-o gaagar jal foree. ||1||
it doesn’t take much time to break their attachment with these sects, just as it doesn’t take much time for the water to escape out of a broken pitcher. ||1||
ਜਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਟੁਟੇ ਹੋਏ ਘੜੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਾਣੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਠਹਿਰਦਾ ਹੈਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਸੰਸਾਰੀ ਪਿਆਰ ਟੁਟਦੇ ਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਸਮਾਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਲਗਦਾ ॥੧॥
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਭਗਤਿ ਰਸੁ ਦੀਜੈ ਮਨੁ ਖਚਿਤ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਰਸ ਖੋਰੀ ॥
kar kirpaa bhagat ras deejai man khachit paraym ras khoree.
O’ God, bestow mercy, bless me with the taste of Your devotional worship, so that my mind may remain elated with the relish of Your love.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰ, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਦਾ ਸੁਆਦ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼, ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨ ਤੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ-ਰਸ ਦੀ ਖ਼ੁਮਾਰੀ ਵਿਚ ਮਸਤ ਰਹੇ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾਸ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਣਾਈ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਬਿਨੁ ਆਨ ਨ ਹੋਰੀ ॥੨॥੭੧॥੯੪॥
naanak daas tayree sarnaa-ee parabh bin aan na horee. ||2||71||94||
Your devotee Nanak has come to Your refuge; O’ God, without You, I have no other support. ||2||71||94||
(ਤੇਰਾ) ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਨ ਆਇਆ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੈਥੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਮੇਰਾ ਕੋਈ ਹੋਰ ਦੂਜਾ ਸਹਾਰਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ ॥੨॥੭੧॥੯੪॥

ਚਿਤਵਉ ਵਾ ਅਉਸਰ ਮਨ ਮਾਹਿ ॥
chitva-o vaa a-osar man maahi.
O’ my friends, I keep waiting in my mind for the occasion,
ਮੈਂ ਤਾਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਉਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਨੂੰ ਉਡੀਕਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ,
ਹੋਇ ਇਕਤ੍ਰ ਮਿਲਹੁ ਸੰਤ ਸਾਜਨ ਗੁਣ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਨਿਤ ਗਾਹਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ho-ay ikatar milhu sant saajan gun gobind nit gaahi. ||1|| rahaa-o.
when I would meet those saintly persons who get together daily and sing the praises of God. ||1||Pause||
ਜਦੋਂ ਮੈਂ ਸੰਤਾਂ ਸੱਜਣਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਾਂ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਨਿੱਤ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਂਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਬਿਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਭਜਨ ਜੇਤੇ ਕਾਮ ਕਰੀਅਹਿ ਤੇਤੇ ਬਿਰਥੇ ਜਾਂਹਿ ॥
bin har bhajan jaytay kaam karee-ah taytay birthay jaaNhi.
Whatever deeds are done without remembering God, they all go in vain.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਭਜਨ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਜਿਤਨੇ ਭੀ ਕੰਮ ਕੀਤੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਚਲੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਪੂਰਨ ਪਰਮਾਨੰਦ ਮਨਿ ਮੀਠੋ ਤਿਸੁ ਬਿਨੁ ਦੂਸਰ ਨਾਹਿ ॥੧॥
pooran parmaanand man meetho tis bin doosar naahi. ||1||
Within whose mind God, the perfect embodiment of bliss, sounds sweet, to him no one else seems so pleasing. ||1||
ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਪੂਰਨ ਪਰਮਾਨੰਦ ਮਿੱਠਾ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਚੰਗਾ ਨਹੀ ਲਗਦਾ ॥੧||
ਜਪ ਤਪ ਸੰਜਮ ਕਰਮ ਸੁਖ ਸਾਧਨ ਤੁਲਿ ਨ ਕਛੂਐ ਲਾਹਿ ॥
jap tap sanjam karam sukh saaDhan tul na kachhoo-ai laahi.
The worships, penances, austerities and other deeds for the sake of peace are considered by the saints as minuscule compared to remembering God.
ਜਪ ਤਪ ਸੰਜਮ ਆਦਿਕ ਹਠ-ਕਰਮ ਅਤੇ ਸੁਖ ਦੀ ਭਾਲ ਦੇ ਹੋਰ ਸਾਧਨ-ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਬਰਾਬਰੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਸਕਦੇ ਤੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੁਝ ਭੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਮਝਦੇ (ਤੁੱਛ ਸਮਝਦੇ ਹਨ)।
ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲ ਨਾਨਕ ਮਨੁ ਬੇਧਿਓ ਚਰਨਹ ਸੰਗਿ ਸਮਾਹਿ ॥੨॥੭੨॥੯੫॥
charan kamal naanak man bayDhi-o charnah sang samaahi. ||2||72||95||
O’ Nanak, the mind of saints remains focused on God’s immaculate Name and they remain absorbed in it. ||2||72||95||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਵਿੱਝਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਲੀਨ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੨॥੭੨॥੯੫॥

ਮੇਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸੰਗੇ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ॥
mayraa parabh sangay antarjaamee.
My omniscient God is with me at all times,
ਸਭ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਮੇਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ (ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਮੇਰੇ) ਨਾਲ ਹੈ-
ਆਗੈ ਕੁਸਲ ਪਾਛੈ ਖੇਮ ਸੂਖਾ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਨਾਮੁ ਸੁਆਮੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
aagai kusal paachhai khaym sookhaa simrat naam su-aamee. ||1|| rahaa-o.
peace and bliss prevails both here and hereafter by remembering Him with loving devotion. ||1||Pause||
ਉਸ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਦਿਆਂ ਪਰਲੋਕ ਤੇ ਇਸ ਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖ-ਆਨੰਦ ਬਣਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
