Raag Saarang, Fifth Guru:
ਮੇਰੈ ਗੁਰਿ ਮੋਰੋ ਸਹਸਾ ਉਤਾਰਿਆ ॥
mayrai gur moro sahsaa utaari-aa.
My Guru has rid me of my cynicism.
ਮੇਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਸਹਿਮ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।
ਤਿਸੁ ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਜਾਈਐ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਹਉ ਵਾਰਿਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
tis gur kai jaa-ee-ai balihaaree sadaa sadaa ha-o vaari-aa. ||1|| rahaa-o.
We should be dedicated to that Guru, I am dedicated to him forever and ever. ||1||pause||
ਉਸ ਗੁਰੂ ਤੋਂ ਸਦਕੇ ਜਾਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ। ਮੈਂ (ਉਸ ਗੁਰੂ ਤੋਂ) ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਿਓ ਦਿਨੁ ਰਾਤੀ ਗੁਰ ਕੇ ਚਰਨ ਮਨਿ ਧਾਰਿਆ ॥
gur kaa naam japi-o din raatee gur kay charan man Dhaari-aa.
I always lovingly remember my Guru and I have enshrined the Guru’s teachings in mind.
ਮੈਂ ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤ (ਆਪਣੇ) ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਚੇਤੇ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨ (ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਖਿਆ) ਟਿਕਾਈ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ ।
ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਧੂਰਿ ਕਰਉ ਨਿਤ ਮਜਨੁ ਕਿਲਵਿਖ ਮੈਲੁ ਉਤਾਰਿਆ ॥੧॥
gur kee Dhoor kara-o nit majan kilvikh mail utaari-aa. ||1||
I always listen and follow the Guru’s teachings, as if I daily bathe in the dust from the Guru’s feet; it has removed the dirt of sins from my mind.||1||
ਮੈਂ ਸਦਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਧੂੜ ਵਿਚ ਇਸ਼ਨਾਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ, (ਇਸ ਇਸ਼ਨਾਨ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਤੋਂ) ਪਾਪਾਂ ਦੀ ਮੈਲ ਲਾਹ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੇ ਕੀ ਕਰਉ ਨਿਤ ਸੇਵਾ ਗੁਰੁ ਅਪਨਾ ਨਮਸਕਾਰਿਆ ॥
gur pooray kee kara-o nit sayvaa gur apnaa namaskaari-aa.
I humbly bow to my perfect Guru and always sincerely follow his teachings.
ਮੈਂ ਸਦਾ ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ (ਦੱਸੀ) ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਗੁਰੂ ਅੱਗੇ ਸਿਰ ਨਿਵਾਈ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
ਸਰਬ ਫਲਾ ਦੀਨ੍ਹ੍ਹੇ ਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰਿ ਨਿਸਤਾਰਿਆ ॥੨॥੪੭॥੭੦॥
sarab falaa deenHay gur poorai naanak gur nistaari-aa. ||2||47||70||
O’ Nanak, the perfect Guru has blessed me with all fruits of my heart’s desire and has ferried me across the world-ocean of vices. ||2||47||70||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ (ਮੂੰਹ-ਮੰਗੇ) ਸਾਰੇ ਫਲ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਹਨ, ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਜਗਤ ਦੇ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘਾ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ ॥੨॥੪੭॥੭੦॥

Raag Sarang, Fifth Guru:
ਸਿਮਰਤ ਨਾਮੁ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਗਤਿ ਪਾਵੈ ॥
simrat naam paraan gat paavai.
One attains sublime spiritual state by lovingly remembering God’s Name.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਦਿਆਂ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੀ ਉੱਚੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਮਿਟਹਿ ਕਲੇਸ ਤ੍ਰਾਸ ਸਭ ਨਾਸੈ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਹਿਤੁ ਲਾਵੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
miteh kalays taraas sabh naasai saaDhsang hit laavai. ||1|| rahaa-o.
One who develops love for the company of saints, all his afflictions are dispelled and all his dreads vanish. ||1||pause||
ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਪਿਆਰ ਪਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਕਲੇਸ਼ ਮਿਟ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਸ ਦਾ ਹਰੇਕ ਡਰ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਮਨਿ ਆਰਾਧੇ ਰਸਨਾ ਹਰਿ ਜਸੁ ਗਾਵੈ ॥
har har har har man aaraaDhay rasnaa har jas gaavai.
One who always remembers God in his mind and sings the praises of God with his tongue,
ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਦਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਆਰਾਧਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਜੀਭ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਗਾਂਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਤਜਿ ਅਭਿਮਾਨੁ ਕਾਮ ਕ੍ਰੋਧੁ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਬਾਸੁਦੇਵ ਰੰਗੁ ਲਾਵੈ ॥੧॥
taj abhimaan kaam kroDh nindaa baasudayv rang laavai. ||1||
he imbues himself with God’s love by renouncing his arrogance, lust, anger, and slander. ||1||
ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਕਾਮ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਅਹੰਕਾਰ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਆਦਿਕ ਵਿਕਾਰ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਦਾਮੋਦਰ ਦਇਆਲ ਆਰਾਧਹੁ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਕਰਤ ਸੋੁਹਾਵੈ ॥
daamodar da-i-aal aaraaDhahu gobind karat sohaavai.
O’ brother, always keep remembering the merciful God with adoration because one looks beauteous while uttering God’s Name.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਦਇਆ ਦੇ ਸੋਮੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਦੇ ਰਿਹਾ ਕਰੋ। ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਦਾ ਹੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸੋਹਣਾ ਲਗਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਭ ਕੀ ਹੋਇ ਰੇਨਾ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਦਰਸਿ ਸਮਾਵੈ ॥੨॥੪੮॥੭੧॥
kaho naanak sabh kee ho-ay raynaa har har daras samaavai. ||2||48||71||
O’ Nanak! say, one who becomes so humble as if he is the dust of everyone’s feet, that person remains absorbed in the blessed vision of God. ||2||48||71||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ, ਆਖ- ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਭਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਚਰਨ-ਧੂੜ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਦਰਸਨ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਹੋਇਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥੪੮॥੭੧॥

Raag Saarang, Fifth Guru:
ਅਪੁਨੇ ਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੇ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੈ ॥
apunay gur pooray balihaarai.
I am dedicated to my perfect Guru.
ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਤੋਂ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਪ੍ਰਤਾਪੁ ਕੀਓ ਨਾਮ ਕੋ ਰਾਖੇ ਰਾਖਨਹਾਰੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
pargat partaap kee-o naam ko raakhay raakhanhaarai. ||1|| rahaa-o.
The Guru has revealed the glory of God’s Name, the savior God saves those from sorrows who lovingly remember His Name. ||1||pause||
ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਪਰਤਾਪ ਪ੍ਰਸਿੱਧ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ। ਰੱਖਿਆ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਸਮਰਥਾ ਵਾਲਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ (ਨਾਮ ਜਪਣ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਦੁੱਖਾਂ ਤੋਂ) ਬਚਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਨਿਰਭਉ ਕੀਏ ਸੇਵਕ ਦਾਸ ਅਪਨੇ ਸਗਲੇ ਦੂਖ ਬਿਦਾਰੈ ॥
nirbha-o kee-ay sayvak daas apnay saglay dookh bidaarai.
The Guru makes his devotees fearless, and destroys all their sorrows.
ਗੁਰੂ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੇਵਕਾਂ ਦਾਸਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਭੈ-ਰਹਿਤ ਕਰ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਉਹਨਾ ਸਾਰੇ ਦੁੱਖ ਨਾਸ ਕਰ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਆਨ ਉਪਾਵ ਤਿਆਗਿ ਜਨ ਸਗਲੇ ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲ ਰਿਦ ਧਾਰੈ ॥੧॥
aan upaav ti-aag jan saglay charan kamal rid Dhaarai. ||1|| |
Renouncing all other efforts, the devotee also enshrines the Guru’s teachings in his heart. ||1||
ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਸੇਵਕ ਹੋਰ ਸਾਰੇ ਹੀਲੇ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਚਰਨ (ਆਪਣੇ) ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਵਸਾਈ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਅਧਾਰ ਮੀਤ ਸਾਜਨ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਏਕੈ ਏਕੰਕਾਰੈ ॥
paraan aDhaar meet saajan parabh aykai aykankaarai.
The one and only God is the support of breaths, the friend and the companion of us all.
ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਹੀ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਸੱਜਣ ਮਿੱਤਰ ਹੈ।
ਸਭ ਤੇ ਊਚ ਠਾਕੁਰੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਕਾ ਬਾਰ ਬਾਰ ਨਮਸਕਾਰੈ ॥੨॥੪੯॥੭੨॥
sabh tay ooch thaakur naanak kaa baar baar namaskaarai. ||2||49||72||
Highest of the high is the Master-God of Nanak to whom he bows again and again. ||2||49||72||
ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾ ਤਾਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਹੀ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਉੱਚਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੈ। ਨਾਨਕ ਸਦਾ ਮੁੜ ਮੁੜ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ) ਸਿਰ ਨਿਵਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥੪੯॥੭੨॥

Raag Sarang, Fifth Guru:
ਬਿਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਹੈ ਕੋ ਕਹਾ ਬਤਾਵਹੁ ॥
bin har hai ko kahaa bataavhu.
O’ brother, tell me, other than God, who else is our supporter and where is He?
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ, ਦੱਸੋ, ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਹੋਰ ਕੌਣ (ਸਹਾਈ) ਹੈ ਤੇ ਕਿੱਥੇ ਹੈ?
ਸੁਖ ਸਮੂਹ ਕਰੁਣਾ ਮੈ ਕਰਤਾ ਤਿਸੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਦਾ ਧਿਆਵਹੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
sukh samooh karunaa mai kartaa tis parabh sadaa Dhi-aavahu. ||1|| rahaa-o.
God, the compassionate creator, is the source of all comforts and inner peace, always remember Him with adoration.||1||pause||
ਉਹ ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰ ਸਾਰੇ ਸੁਖਾਂ ਦਾ ਸੋਮਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਤਰਸ-ਸਰੂਪ ਹੈ। ਸਦਾ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਰਹੋ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਜਾ ਕੈ ਸੂਤਿ ਪਰੋਏ ਜੰਤਾ ਤਿਸੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਾ ਜਸੁ ਗਾਵਹੁ ॥
jaa kai soot paro-ay jantaa tis parabh kaa jas gaavhu.
Sing praises of that God whose command governs all creatures.
ਜਿਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ (ਹੁਕਮ-ਰੂਪ) ਧਾਗੇ ਵਿਚ ਸਾਰੇ ਜੀਵ ਪ੍ਰੋਤੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ, ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦਾ ਗੀਤ ਗਾਂਦੇ ਰਿਹਾ ਕਰੋ।
ਸਿਮਰਿ ਠਾਕੁਰੁ ਜਿਨਿ ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਦੀਨਾ ਆਨ ਕਹਾ ਪਹਿ ਜਾਵਹੁ ॥੧॥
simar thaakur jin sabh kichh deenaa aan kahaa peh jaavhu. ||1||
Always lovingly remember that Master-God who has given everything, why would you go to anyone else? ||1||
ਜਿਸ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਹਰੇਕ ਚੀਜ਼ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਿਆ ਕਰੋ। ਉਸ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਹੋਰ ਕਿੱਥੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਪਾਸ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹੋ? ॥੧॥
ਸਫਲ ਸੇਵਾ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਕੀ ਮਨ ਬਾਂਛਤ ਫਲ ਪਾਵਹੁ ॥
safal sayvaa su-aamee mayray kee man baaNchhat fal paavhu.
Fruitful is the devotional worship of my Master-God, you can receive the fruits of your heart’s desires from Him.
ਮੇਰੇ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਹੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਸਾਰੇ ਫਲ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਹੈ (ਉਸੇ ਦੇ ਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਹੀ) ਮਨ-ਮੰਗੇ ਫਲ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਸਕਦੇ ਹੋ।
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਲਾਭੁ ਲਾਹਾ ਲੈ ਚਾਲਹੁ ਸੁਖ ਸੇਤੀ ਘਰਿ ਜਾਵਹੁ ॥੨॥੫੦॥੭੩॥
kaho naanak laabh laahaa lai chaalahu sukh saytee ghar jaavhu. ||2||50||73||
O’ Nanak, say, depart from this world with the wealth of devotional worship and peacefully reach your Divine home. ||2||50||73||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ, ਆਖ- (ਜਗਤ ਤੋਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਦਾ) ਲਾਭ ਖੱਟ ਕੇ ਤੁਰੋ, ਬੜੇ ਆਨੰਦ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਪਹੁੰਚੋਗੇ ॥੨॥੫੦॥੭੩॥

ਠਾਕੁਰ ਤੁਮ੍ਹ੍ ਸਰਣਾਈ ਆਇਆ ॥
thaakur tumH sarnaa-ee aa-i-aa.
O’ Master-God, I have come to Your refuge.
ਹੇ (ਮੇਰੇ) ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! (ਮੈਂ) ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਨ ਆਇਆ ਹਾਂ।
ਉਤਰਿ ਗਇਓ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਕਾ ਸੰਸਾ ਜਬ ਤੇ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
utar ga-i-o mayray man kaa sansaa jab tay darsan paa-i-aa. ||1|| rahaa-o.
Since the time I experienced Your blessed vision, all the dread of my mind has vanished.||1||pause||
ਜਦੋਂ ਤੋਂ ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰਾ ਦਰਸਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ (ਤਦੋਂ ਤੋਂ ਹੀ) ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਤੋਂ (ਹਰੇਕ) ਸਹਿਮ ਲਹਿ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਅਨਬੋਲਤ ਮੇਰੀ ਬਿਰਥਾ ਜਾਨੀ ਅਪਨਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਾਇਆ ॥
anbolat mayree birthaa jaanee apnaa naam japaa-i-aa.
O’ my Master-God! You always knew my anguish without me speaking and inspire me to lovingly remember You.
ਹੇ (ਮੇਰੇ) ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੂੰ (ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਮੇਰੇ) ਬਿਨਾ ਬੋਲਣ ਦੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਦੁੱਖ ਸਮਝ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ, ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਮੈਥੋਂ ਆਪਣਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਾਇਆ ਹੈ।
ਦੁਖ ਨਾਠੇ ਸੁਖ ਸਹਜਿ ਸਮਾਏ ਅਨਦ ਅਨਦ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਇਆ ॥੧॥
dukh naathay sukh sahj samaa-ay anad anad gun gaa-i-aa. ||1||
Since the time I am blissfully singing God’s praises, all my sorrows have vanished and I remain absorbed in inner peace and spiritual stability.||1||
ਜਦੋਂ ਤੋਂ ਬੜੇ ਆਨੰਦ ਨਾਲ ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਮੇਰੇ ਦੁੱਖ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਹਨ, ਸੁਖਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਵਿਚ ਮੈਂ ਮਗਨ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ॥੧॥
ਬਾਹ ਪਕਰਿ ਕਢਿ ਲੀਨੇ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਅੰਧ ਕੂਪ ਤੇ ਮਾਇਆ ॥
baah pakar kadh leenay apunay garih anDh koop tay maa-i-aa.
Extending support to His devotees, God pulled them from the dark deep pit of the love for materialism.
(ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ) ਆਪਣੇ (ਸੇਵਕਾਂ) ਦੀ ਬਾਂਹ ਫੜ ਕੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ (ਮੋਹ ਦੇ) ਅੰਨ੍ਹੇ ਖੂਹ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਅੰਨ੍ਹੇ ਘਰ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਕੱਢ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰਿ ਬੰਧਨ ਕਾਟੇ ਬਿਛੁਰਤ ਆਨਿ ਮਿਲਾਇਆ ॥੨॥੫੧॥੭੪॥
kaho naanak gur banDhan kaatay bichhurat aan milaa-i-aa. ||2||51||74||
O’ Nanak say, that person who was separated from God, the Guru cut his bonds for the love for Maya and united him with God. ||2||51||74||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ, ਆਖ- ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ (ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੀਆਂ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਦੀਆਂ) ਫਾਹੀਆਂ ਕੱਟ ਦਿੱਤੀਆਂ, (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਚਰਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ) ਵਿਛੁੜਦੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਲਿਆ ਕੇ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ) ਮੇਲ ਦਿੱਤਾ ॥੨॥੫੧॥੭੪॥
