ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਮਿਲਿ ਸੰਤਸੰਗਤਿ ਤੇ ਮਗਨ ਭਏ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਈ ॥੨॥੨੫॥੪੮॥
kaho naanak mil santsangat tay magan bha-ay liv laa-ee. ||2||25||48||
O’ Nanak! say, those who meet in saintly congregation, remain elated by focusing their mind on God. ||2||25||48||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਆਖ, ਜਿਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਮਿਲਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਵਿਚ ਸੁਰਤ ਜੋੜ ਕੇ ਮਸਤ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੨॥੨੫॥੪੮॥

Raag Saarang, Fifth Guru:
ਅਪਨਾ ਮੀਤੁ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਗਾਈਐ ॥
apnaa meet su-aamee gaa-ee-ai.
We should always sing the praises of God-our Friend and Master.
ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਹੀ ਆਪਣਾ ਅਸਲ ਮਿੱਤਰ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕਰਨੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਆਸ ਨ ਅਵਰ ਕਾਹੂ ਕੀ ਕੀਜੈ ਸੁਖਦਾਤਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਧਿਆਈਐ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
aas na avar kaahoo kee keejai sukh-daata parabh Dhi-aa-ee-ai. ||1|| rahaa-o.
Except for God, we should not rest our hope on anyone else and should lovingly remember God, the giver of inner peace. ||1||Pause||
(ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ) ਕਿਸੇ ਭੀ ਹੋਰ ਦੀ ਆਸ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਨੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ, ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਹੀ ਸਾਰੇ ਸੁਖ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸੇ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਸੂਖ ਮੰਗਲ ਕਲਿਆਣ ਜਿਸਹਿ ਘਰਿ ਤਿਸ ਹੀ ਸਰਣੀ ਪਾਈਐ ॥
sookh mangal kali-aan jisahi ghar tis hee sarnee paa-ee-ai.
We should only seek the refuge of that God in whose power are all comforts, pleasures and emancipation.
ਜਿਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਹੀ ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਸਾਰੇ ਸੁਖ ਹਨ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ੀਆਂ ਤੇ ਆਨੰਦ ਹਨ, ਉਸ ਦੀ ਹੀ ਸਰਨ ਪਏ ਰਹਿਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਤਿਸਹਿ ਤਿਆਗਿ ਮਾਨੁਖੁ ਜੇ ਸੇਵਹੁ ਤਉ ਲਾਜ ਲੋਨੁ ਹੋਇ ਜਾਈਐ ॥੧॥
tiseh ti-aag maanukh jay sayvhu ta-o laaj lon ho-ay jaa-ee-ai. ||1||
Forsaking God, if you worship a human being, then you will feel so embarrassed that have to lower your eyes in shame. ||1||
ਜੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੀ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ਾਮਦ ਕਰਦੇ ਫਿਰੋਗੇ, ਤਾਂ ਸ਼ਰਮਸਾਰ ਹੋਣਾ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਏਕ ਓਟ ਪਕਰੀ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਕੀ ਗੁਰ ਮਿਲਿ ਮਤਿ ਬੁਧਿ ਪਾਈਐ ॥
ayk ot pakree thaakur kee gur mil mat buDh paa-ee-ai.
One who has attained the higher spiritual intellect by meeting the Guru, has grasped the support of the Master-God.
ਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਉੱਚੀ ਬੁੱਧੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਲਈ, ਉਸ ਨੇ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਹੀ ਆਸਰਾ ਲਿਆ।
ਗੁਣ ਨਿਧਾਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਸਗਲ ਚੁਕੀ ਮੁਹਤਾਈਐ ॥੨॥੨੬॥੪੯॥
gun niDhaan naanak parabh mili-aa sagal chukee muhtaa-ee-ai. ||2||26||49||
O’ Nanak, one who has realized God, the treasure of virtues, all his dependence on others has ended. ||2||26||49||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਸਾਰੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਪਿਆ, ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਮੁਥਾਜੀ ਮੁੱਕ ਗਈ ॥੨॥੨੬॥੪੯॥

Raag Saarang, Fifth Guru:
ਓਟ ਸਤਾਣੀ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਜੀਉ ਮੇਰੈ ॥
ot sataanee parabh jee-o mayrai.
O’ my God, in my heart is Your most firm and powerful support.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ! ਮੇਰੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਤੇਰਾ ਹੀ ਤਕੜਾ ਸਹਾਰਾ ਹੈ।
ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਨ ਲਿਆਵਉ ਅਵਰ ਕਾਹੂ ਕਉ ਮਾਣਿ ਮਹਤਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਤੇਰੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
darisat na li-aava-o avar kaahoo ka-o maan mahat parabh tayrai. ||1|| rahaa-o.
On’ God, because of Your glory and powerful support, I do not even look towards anybody else. ||1||Pause||
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੇਰੇ ਮਾਣ ਦੇ ਆਸਰੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਵਡੱਪਣ ਦੇ ਆਸਰੇ ਮੈਂ ਹੋਰ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਨਿਗਾਹ ਵਿਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਲਿਆਉਂਦਾ (ਮੈਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਹੋਰ ਨੂੰ ਤੇਰੇ ਬਰਾਬਰ ਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਮਝਦਾ) ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਅੰਗੀਕਾਰੁ ਕੀਓ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਅਪੁਨੈ ਕਾਢਿ ਲੀਆ ਬਿਖੁ ਘੇਰੈ ॥
angeekaar kee-o parabh apunai kaadh lee-aa bikh ghayrai.
Whom God has accepted as His own, He pulled that person out of the whirlpool of the poisonous Maya,
ਪਿਆਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਪੱਖ ਕੀਤਾ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ) ਨੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤ ਲਿਆਉਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਮਾਇਆ-ਜ਼ਹਰ ਦੇ ਘੇਰੇ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਕੱਢ ਲਿਆ।
ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਨਾਮੁ ਅਉਖਧੁ ਮੁਖਿ ਦੀਨੋ ਜਾਇ ਪਇਆ ਗੁਰ ਪੈਰੈ ॥੧॥
amrit naam a-ukhaDh mukh deeno jaa-ay pa-i-aa gur pairai. ||1||
when that person followed the Guru’s teachings, then the Guru blessed him with the medicine of the ambrosial Name of God. ||1||
ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਜਾ ਡਿੱਗਾ, ਤੇ, (ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ) ਮੂੰਹ ਵਿਚ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਨਾਮ-ਦਵਾਈ ਦਿੱਤੀ ॥੧॥
ਕਵਨ ਉਪਮਾ ਕਹਉ ਏਕ ਮੁਖ ਨਿਰਗੁਣ ਕੇ ਦਾਤੇਰੈ ॥
kavan upmaa kaha-o ayk mukh nirgun kay daatayrai.
Which of the praises of the benefactor of virtues to the unvirtuous, may I utter with my one tongue?
ਗੁਣ-ਹੀਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਣ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀਆਂ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਇਕ ਮੂੰਹ ਨਾਲ ਕਿਹੜੀਆਂ-ਕਿਹੜੀਆਂ ਵਡਿਆਈਆਂ ਬਿਆਨ ਕਰਾਂ?
ਕਾਟਿ ਸਿਲਕ ਜਉ ਅਪੁਨਾ ਕੀਨੋ ਨਾਨਕ ਸੂਖ ਘਨੇਰੈ ॥੨॥੨੭॥੫੦॥
kaat silak ja-o apunaa keeno naanak sookh ghanayrai. ||2||27||50||
O’ Nanak, whom God made His own by cutting his noose of Maya, that person attained immense inner peace. ||2||27||50||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜਦੋਂ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਦੀ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ ਫਾਹੀ ਕੱਟ ਕੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਬਣਾ ਲਿਆ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਸੁਖ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋ ਗਏ ॥੨॥੨੭॥੫੦॥

Raag Saarang, Fifth Guru:
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਦੂਖ ਬਿਨਾਸੀ ॥
parabh simrat dookh binaasee.
All the sorrows are destroyed by lovingly remembering God.
ਸਾਈਂ ਦਾ ਆਰਾਧਨ ਕਰਨ ਨਾਲ, ਦੁਖੜੇ ਨਾਸ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਭਇਓ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲੁ ਜੀਅ ਸੁਖਦਾਤਾ ਹੋਈ ਸਗਲ ਖਲਾਸੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
bha-i-o kirpaal jee-a sukh-daata ho-ee sagal khalaasee. ||1|| rahaa-o.
On whom the giver of peace tolife becomes merciful, he is totally freed from all vices. ||1||Pause||
ਜਿੰਦ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਖ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉੱਤੇ ਦਇਆਵਾਨ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਸਾਰੇ ਹੀ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਲਾਸੀ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਊ ਸੂਝੈ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਬਿਨੁ ਕਹੁ ਕੋ ਕਿਸੁ ਪਹਿ ਜਾਸੀ ॥
avar na ko-oo soojhai parabh bin kaho ko kis peh jaasee.
One who lovingly remembers God, does not think of anyone other than God and says, tell me except for God, where could anyone go?
(ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ (ਉਸ ਵਰਗਾ) ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੁੱਝਦਾ (ਉਹ ਸਦਾ ਇਹੀ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ) ਦੱਸ, (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ) ਕੌਣ ਕਿਸ ਕੋਲ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ?
ਜਿਉ ਜਾਣਹੁ ਤਿਉ ਰਾਖਹੁ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਤੁਮ ਹੀ ਪਾਸੀ ॥੧॥
ji-o jaanhu ti-o raakho thaakur sabh kichh tum hee paasee. ||1||
(He prays to God and says): O’ Master-God, everything is in Your control, save me as You will. ||1||
(ਉਹ ਸਦਾ ਅਰਦਾਸ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ-) ਹੇ ਠਾਕੁਰ! ਜਿਵੇਂ ਹੋ ਸਕੇ ਤਿਵੇਂ ਮੇਰੀ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਕਰ, ਹਰੇਕ ਚੀਜ਼ ਤੇਰੇ ਹੀ ਕੋਲ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਹਾਥ ਦੇਇ ਰਾਖੇ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਸਦ ਜੀਵਨ ਅਬਿਨਾਸੀ ॥
haath day-ay raakhay parabh apunay sad jeevan abhinaasee.
Those whom God saved by extending His support, they attained immortal life.
ਪਿਆਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹੱਥ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਰੱਖ ਲਿਆ, ਉਹ ਅਟੱਲ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਬਣ ਗਏ,
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਮਨਿ ਅਨਦੁ ਭਇਆ ਹੈ ਕਾਟੀ ਜਮ ਕੀ ਫਾਸੀ ॥੨॥੨੮॥੫੧॥
kaho naanak man anad bha-i-aa hai kaatee jam kee faasee. ||2||28||51||
O’ Nanak! say, bliss stays in their minds and their noose of death is cut away. ||2||28||51||
ਨਾਨਕ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ- ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਆਨੰਦ ਬਣਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਜਮਾਂ ਵਾਲੀ ਫਾਹੀ ਕੱਟੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੨॥੨੮॥੫੧॥

ਮੇਰੋ ਮਨੁ ਜਤ ਕਤ ਤੁਝਹਿ ਸਮ੍ਹ੍ਹਾਰੈ ॥
mayro man jat kat tujheh samHaarai.
O’ God, my mind lovingly remembers You everywhere.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨ ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਹਮ ਬਾਰਿਕ ਦੀਨ ਪਿਤਾ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮੇਰੇ ਜਿਉ ਜਾਨਹਿ ਤਿਉ ਪਾਰੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ham baarik deen pitaa parabh mayray ji-o jaaneh ti-o paarai. ||1|| rahaa-o.
O’ my fatherly God, we are Your helpless children; as You wish, ferry us across the world-ocean of vices. ||1||Pause||
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਿਤਾ! ਅਸੀਂ (ਤੇਰੇ) ਗਰੀਬ ਬੱਚੇ ਹਾਂ, ਜਿਵੇਂ ਹੋ ਸਕੇ ਤਿਵੇਂ (ਸਾਨੂੰ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ) ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘਾ ਲੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਜਬ ਭੁਖੌ ਤਬ ਭੋਜਨੁ ਮਾਂਗੈ ਅਘਾਏ ਸੂਖ ਸਘਾਰੈ ॥
jab bhukhou tab bhojan maaNgai aghaa-ay sookh saghaarai.
Just when a child is hungry, he cries for food but when satiated he feels as if he has attained all comforts.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਜਦੋਂ (ਬੱਚਾ) ਭੁੱਖਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਦੋਂ (ਖਾਣ ਨੂੰ) ਭੋਜਨ ਮੰਗਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਦੋਂ ਰੱਜ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਦੋਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਰੇ ਸੁਖ (ਪ੍ਰਤੀਤ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ)।
ਤਬ ਅਰੋਗ ਜਬ ਤੁਮ ਸੰਗਿ ਬਸਤੌ ਛੁਟਕਤ ਹੋਇ ਰਵਾਰੈ ॥੧॥
tab arog jab tum sang bastou chhutkat ho-ay ravaarai. ||1||
Similarly when one remembers You and remains in Your refuge, feels spiritually healthy; but separated from You, he feels like dirt. ||1||
(ਇਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਇਹ ਜੀਵ) ਜਦੋਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ (ਤੇਰੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ) ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਦੋਂ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਰੋਗ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਤਾਂਦਾ, (ਤੈਥੋਂ) ਵਿਛੁੜਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ (ਇਹ) ਮਿੱਟੀ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਕਵਨ ਬਸੇਰੋ ਦਾਸ ਦਾਸਨ ਕੋ ਥਾਪਿਉ ਥਾਪਨਹਾਰੈ ॥
kavan basayro daas daasan ko thaapi-o thaapanhaarai.
O’ the Creator God, you created everything, what a servant of Your devotees can do?
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੇਰੇ ਦਾਸਾਂ ਦੇ ਦਾਸ ਦਾ ਕੀਹ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਚੱਲ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ? ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ।
ਨਾਮੁ ਨ ਬਿਸਰੈ ਤਬ ਜੀਵਨੁ ਪਾਈਐ ਬਿਨਤੀ ਨਾਨਕ ਇਹ ਸਾਰੈ ॥੨॥੨੯॥੫੨॥
naam na bisrai tab jeevan paa-ee-ai bintee naanak ih saarai. ||2||29||52||
O’ God, this is the essence of the prayer of Your devotee Nanak that we attain spiritual life only when Your Name is not forsaken from our mind. ||2||29||52||
(ਤੇਰਾ ਦਾਸ) ਨਾਨਕ ਇਹ (ਹੀ) ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ- ਜਦੋਂ ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਭੁੱਲਦਾ, ਤਦੋਂ (ਆਤਮਕ) ਜੀਵਨ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰੀਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥੨੯॥੫੨॥

ਮਨ ਤੇ ਭੈ ਭਉ ਦੂਰਿ ਪਰਾਇਓ ॥
man tay bhai bha-o door paraa-i-o.
All dread and worldly fear has vanished from my mind,
ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਤੋਂ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦੇ ਖ਼ਤਰਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਸਹਿਮ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ,
ਲਾਲ ਦਇਆਲ ਗੁਲਾਲ ਲਾਡਿਲੇ ਸਹਜਿ ਸਹਜਿ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਇਓ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
laal da-i-aal gulaal laadilay sahj sahj gun gaa-i-o. ||1|| rahaa-o.
when, in a state of spiritual poise, I started singing praises of the beloved, merciful and beauteous God. ||1||Pause||
ਜਦੋਂ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕ ਕੇ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਦਿਆਲ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ-ਰਸ ਵਿਚ ਭਿੱਜੇ ਹੋਏ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਮੈਂ ਗਾਣੇ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕੀਤੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਗੁਰ ਬਚਨਾਤਿ ਕਮਾਤ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਤੇ ਬਹੁਰਿ ਨ ਕਤਹੂ ਧਾਇਓ ॥
gur bachnaat kamaat kirpaa tay bahur na kathoo Dhaa-i-o.
With God’s grace and living by the Guru’s word, my mind doesn’t wander anywhere.
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਬਚਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ) ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਕਮਾਂਦਿਆਂ (ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਦੱਸੇ ਰਸਤੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਤੁਰਦਿਆਂ ਹੁਣ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨ) ਹੋਰ ਕਿਸੇ ਭੀ ਪਾਸੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਭਟਕਦਾ
ਰਹਤ ਉਪਾਧਿ ਸਮਾਧਿ ਸੁਖ ਆਸਨ ਭਗਤਿ ਵਛਲੁ ਗ੍ਰਿਹਿ ਪਾਇਓ ॥੧॥
rahat upaaDh samaaDh sukh aasan bhagat vachhal garihi paa-i-o. ||1||
My mind, free from vices, remains peacefully focused on God’s Name and I have realized God, the lover of devotional worship in my own heart. ||1||
(ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨ) ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਚ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨਤਾ ਦੇ ਸੁਖਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ, ਮੈਂ ਭਗਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਹਿਰਦੇ-ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਲੱਭ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਨਾਦ ਬਿਨੋਦ ਕੋਡ ਆਨੰਦਾ ਸਹਜੇ ਸਹਜਿ ਸਮਾਇਓ ॥
naad binod kod aanandaa sehjay sahj samaa-i-o.
My mind now remains absorbed in a state of peace and poise as if it has received the pleasure of millions of melodies and plays.
ਹੁਣ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ,(ਮਾਨੋ) ਸਾਰੇ ਰਾਗਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਤਮਾਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਕ੍ਰੋੜਾਂ ਹੀ ਆਨੰਦ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਹਨ,
ਕਰਨਾ ਆਪਿ ਕਰਾਵਨ ਆਪੇ ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਆਪਿ ਆਪਾਇਓ ॥੨॥੩੦॥੫੩॥
karnaa aap karaavan aapay kaho naanak aap aapaa-i-o. ||2||30||53||
O’ Nanak! say, God Himself is capable of doing and getting everything done, and by Himself, He is all in all. ||2||30||53||
ਨਾਨਕ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ- ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਜੀਵਾਂ ਪਾਸੋਂ) ਕਰਾਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਸਭ ਥਾਂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਆਪ ਹੈ ॥੨॥੩੦॥੫੩॥
