ਚਿਤਵਨਿ ਚਿਤਵਉ ਪ੍ਰਿਅ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਬੈਰਾਗੀ ਕਦਿ ਪਾਵਉ ਹਰਿ ਦਰਸਾਈ ॥
chitvan chitva-o pari-a pareet bairaagee kad paava-o har darsaa-ee.
In my heart I keep thinking about the beloved God, I have become detached from the world and keep wondering when will I visualize Him?
ਮੈਂ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਨਾਲ ਵੈਰਾਗਣ ਹੋਈ ਪਈ ਹਾਂ, ਮੈਂ (ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਇਹ) ਸੋਚ ਸੋਚਦੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਹਰੀ ਦਾ ਦਰਸਨ ਕਦੋਂ ਕਰਾਂਗੀ।
ਜਤਨ ਕਰਉ ਇਹੁ ਮਨੁ ਨਹੀ ਧੀਰੈ ਕੋਊ ਹੈ ਰੇ ਸੰਤੁ ਮਿਲਾਈ ॥੧॥
jatan kara-o ih man nahee Dheerai ko-oo hai ray sant milaa-ee. ||1||
I keep trying, but this mind of mine does not get consoled: O’ brother, is there any Saint who can unite me with God? ||1||
ਮੈਂ ਜਤਨ ਕਰਦੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹਾਂ, ਪਰ ਇਹ ਮਨ ਧੀਰਜ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ। ਹੇ ਵੀਰ! ਕੋਈ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਭੀ ਸੰਤ ਹੈ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਮਿਲਾ ਦੇਵੇ? ॥੧॥
ਜਪ ਤਪ ਸੰਜਮ ਪੁੰਨ ਸਭਿ ਹੋਮਉ ਤਿਸੁ ਅਰਪਉ ਸਭਿ ਸੁਖ ਜਾਂਈ ॥
jap tap sanjam punn sabh homa-o tis arpa-o sabh sukh jaaN-ee.
I would sacrifice all the merits of my worship, penance, austerity, charities, sacrifices, and would offer all the sources of my comfort to that saint,
ਮੈਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਜਪ ਸਾਰੇ ਤਪ ਸਾਰੇ ਸੰਜਮ ਸਾਰੇ ਪੁੰਨ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ਕਰ ਦਿਆਂ, ਸਾਰੇ ਸੁਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਸੀਲੇ (ਉਸ ਸੰਤ ਅੱਗੇ) ਭੇਟਾ ਰੱਖ ਦਿਆਂਗੀ।
ਏਕ ਨਿਮਖ ਪ੍ਰਿਅ ਦਰਸੁ ਦਿਖਾਵੈ ਤਿਸੁ ਸੰਤਨ ਕੈ ਬਲਿ ਜਾਂਈ ॥੨॥
ayk nimakh pari-a daras dikhaavai tis santan kai bal jaaN-ee. ||2||
who helps me to experience the blessed vision of my beloved God even for an instant; I would dedicate myself to those saints of beloved God. ||2||
ਜੋ ਅੱਖ ਝਮਕਣ ਜਿਤਨੇ ਸਮੇ ਲਈ ਹੀ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਦਾ ਦਰਸਨ ਕਰਾ ਦੇਵੇ, ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਦੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਸੰਤਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਸਦਕੇ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ਜਾਵਾਂ ॥੨॥
ਕਰਉ ਨਿਹੋਰਾ ਬਹੁਤੁ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਸੇਵਉ ਦਿਨੁ ਰੈਨਾਈ ॥
kara-o nihoraa bahut bayntee sayva-o din rainaa-ee.
I offer all my prayers and beg to him, and would serve him day and night.
ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਤਰਲਾ ਕਰਾਂਗੀ, ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰਾਂਗੀ, ਮੈਂ ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਾਂਗੀ।
ਮਾਨੁ ਅਭਿਮਾਨੁ ਹਉ ਸਗਲ ਤਿਆਗਉ ਜੋ ਪ੍ਰਿਅ ਬਾਤ ਸੁਨਾਈ ॥੩॥
maan abhimaan ha-o sagal ti-aaga-o jo pari-a baat sunaa-ee. ||3||
I would renounce all my pride and ego before that person who narrates to me anything about my beloved God. ||3||
ਜਿਹੜਾ ਕੋਈ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਸੁਣਾਏ, ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਸਾਰਾ ਮਾਣ ਅਹੰਕਾਰ ਤਿਆਗ ਦਿਆਂਗੀ ॥੩॥
ਦੇਖਿ ਚਰਿਤ੍ਰ ਭਈ ਹਉ ਬਿਸਮਨਿ ਗੁਰਿ ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਪੁਰਖਿ ਮਿਲਾਈ ॥
daykh charitar bha-ee ha-o bisman gur satgur purakh milaa-ee.
I am amazed upon seeing this wonder that the true Guru united me with God.
ਮੈਂ ਇਹ ਕੌਤਕ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਹੈਰਾਨ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਕਿ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ (ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ) ਵਿਚ ਜੋੜ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਰੰਗ ਦਇਆਲ ਮੋਹਿ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਮਹਿ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਤਪਤਿ ਬੁਝਾਈ ॥੪॥੧॥੧੫॥
parabh rang da-i-aal mohi garih meh paa-i-aa jan naanak tapat bujhaa-ee. ||4||1||15||
O’ Nanak, I have realized the merciful God, the embodiment of love within my own heart, and the pangs of my separation from God got quenched. ||4||1||15||
ਹੇ ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ! ਦਇਆ ਦਾ ਸੋਮਾ ਪਿਆਰ-ਸਰੂਪ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ-ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਲੱਭ ਲਿਆ,ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਵਿਛੋੜੇ ਵਾਲੀ ਤਪਸ਼ ਮਿਟ ਗਈ ॥੪॥੧॥੧੫॥

Raag Sarang, Fifth Guru:
ਰੇ ਮੂੜ੍ਹ੍ਹੇ ਤੂ ਕਿਉ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਅਬ ਨਾਹੀ ॥
ray moorhHay too ki-o simrat ab naahee.
O’ fool, now (after taking birth) why don’t you lovingly remember God?
ਹੇ ਮੂਰਖ! ਹੁਣ (ਜਨਮ ਲੈ ਕੇ) ਤੂੰ ਕਿਉਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਿਮਰਦਾ?
ਨਰਕ ਘੋਰ ਮਹਿ ਉਰਧ ਤਪੁ ਕਰਤਾ ਨਿਮਖ ਨਿਮਖ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਂਹੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
narak ghor meh uraDh tap kartaa nimakh nimakh gun gaaNhee. ||1|| rahaa-o.
While hanging upside down in the womb, it was as if you were doing penance in hell like surroundings and were continuously singing God’s praises. ||1||Pause||
(ਜਦੋਂ) ਤੂੰ ਭਿਆਨਕ ਨਰਕ (ਵਰਗੇ ਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੇਟ) ਵਿਚ (ਸੀ ਤਦੋਂ ਤੂੰ) ਪੁੱਠਾ (ਲਟਕਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ) ਤਪ ਕਰਦਾ ਸੀ, (ਉਥੇ ਤੂੰ) ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਂਦਾ ਸੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਅਨਿਕ ਜਨਮ ਭ੍ਰਮਤੌ ਹੀ ਆਇਓ ਮਾਨਸ ਜਨਮੁ ਦੁਲਭਾਹੀ ॥
anik janam bharmatou hee aa-i-o maanas janam dulbhaahee.
O’ fool, you have received this invaluable human life after wandering through innumerable reincarnations.
ਹੇ ਮੂਰਖ! ਤੂੰ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਹੀ ਜਨਮਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਭਟਕਦਾ ਆਇਆ ਹੈਂ। ਹੁਣ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਦੁਰਲੱਭ ਮਨੁੱਖਾ ਜਨਮ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਗਰਭ ਜੋਨਿ ਛੋਡਿ ਜਉ ਨਿਕਸਿਓ ਤਉ ਲਾਗੋ ਅਨ ਠਾਂਹੀ ॥੧॥
garabh jon chhod ja-o niksi-o ta-o laago an thaaNhee. ||1||
After leaving the womb, when you came into the world, then (instead of remembering God), you got involved in other things. ||1||
ਮਾਂ ਦਾ ਪੇਟ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਜਦੋਂ ਤੂੰ ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਆ ਗਿਆ, ਤਦੋਂ ਤੂੰ (ਸਿਮਰਨ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ) ਹੋਰ ਹੋਰ ਥਾਈਂ ਰੁੱਝ ਗਿਆ ॥੧॥
ਕਰਹਿ ਬੁਰਾਈ ਠਗਾਈ ਦਿਨੁ ਰੈਨਿ ਨਿਹਫਲ ਕਰਮ ਕਮਾਹੀ ॥
karahi buraa-ee thagaa-ee din rain nihfal karam kamaahee.
You practice evil and fraud at all times and do useless deeds,
ਤੂੰ ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤ ਬੁਰਾਈਆਂ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਠੱਗੀਆਂ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈਂ,ਅਤੇ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਕਣੁ ਨਾਹੀ ਤੁਹ ਗਾਹਣ ਲਾਗੇ ਧਾਇ ਧਾਇ ਦੁਖ ਪਾਂਹੀ ॥੨॥
kan naahee tuh gaahan laagay Dhaa-ay Dhaa-ay dukh paaNhee. ||2||
and endure suffering by running around in useless deeds; your state is like those farmers who keep thrashing that husk which has no grains in it. ||2||
ਅਤੇ ਦੋੜ-ਭੱਜ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਤਕਲੀਫ ਉਠਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ,ਤੇਰੀ ਹਾਲਤ ਉਨ੍ਹਾ ਕਿਸਾਨਾ ਵਾਂਗ ਹੈ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਤੁਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਗਾਂਹਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਦਾਣੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦੇ ॥੨॥
ਮਿਥਿਆ ਸੰਗਿ ਕੂੜਿ ਲਪਟਾਇਓ ਉਰਝਿ ਪਰਿਓ ਕੁਸਮਾਂਹੀ ॥
mithi-aa sang koorh laptaa-i-o urajh pari-o kusmaaNhee.
You are so attached to the perishable illusory things, as if you have been entrapped by safflowers with transitory pretty color.
ਹੇ ਕਮਲੇ! ਤੂੰ ਨਾਸਵੰਤ ਮਾਇਆ ਨਾਲ ਨਾਸਵੰਤ ਜਗਤ ਨਾਲ ਚੰਬੜਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਕੁਸੁੰਭੇ ਦੇ ਫੁੱਲਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਪਿਆਰ ਪਾਈ ਬੈਠਾ ਹੈਂ।
ਧਰਮ ਰਾਇ ਜਬ ਪਕਰਸਿ ਬਵਰੇ ਤਉ ਕਾਲ ਮੁਖਾ ਉਠਿ ਜਾਹੀ ॥੩॥
Dharam raa-ay jab pakras bavray ta-o kaal mukhaa uth jaahee. ||3||
O’ foolish, when (you die and) the judge of righteousness catches hold of you, then you would depart from here in disgrace. ||3||
ਜਦੋਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਧਰਮ-ਰਾਜ ਆ ਫੜੇਗਾ (ਜਦੋਂ ਮੌਤ ਆ ਗਈ) ਤਦੋਂ (ਭੈੜੇ ਕੰਮਾਂ ਦੀ) ਕਾਲਖ ਹੀ ਮੂੰਹ ਤੇ ਲੈ ਕੇ (ਇਥੋਂ) ਚਲਾ ਜਾਹਿਂਗਾ ॥੩॥
ਸੋ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਜੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਮਿਲਾਇਆ ਜਿਸੁ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਲੇਖੁ ਲਿਖਾਂਹੀ ॥
so mili-aa jo parabhoo milaa-i-aa jis mastak laykh likhaaNhee.
Only that person unites with God, whom God Himself unites with Him and who has such preordained destiny.
ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆਪ ਮਿਲਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਮੱਥੇ ਉਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਮਿਲਾਪ ਦੇ ਲੇਖ ਲਿਖੇ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਤਿਨ੍ ਜਨ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ਜੋ ਅਲਿਪ ਰਹੇ ਮਨ ਮਾਂਹੀ ॥੪॥੨॥੧੬॥
kaho naanak tinH jan balihaaree jo alip rahay man maaNhee. ||4||2||16||
O’ Nanak! say, I am dedicated to those who, in their mind, remain detached from the love for Maya, the worldly riches and power. ||4||2||16||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਆਖ, ਮੈਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ਹਾਂ, ਜਿਹੜੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ (ਮਾਇਆ ਤੋਂ) ਨਿਰਲੇਪ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੪॥੨॥੧੬॥

Raag Saarang, Fifth Guru:
ਕਿਉ ਜੀਵਨੁ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਬਿਨੁ ਮਾਈ ॥
ki-o jeevan pareetam bin maa-ee.
O’ my mother, how can one remain spiritually alive without remembering God?
ਹੇ (ਮੇਰੀ) ਮਾਂ! ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਯਾਦ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਹਾਸਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ ਸਕਦਾ,
ਜਾ ਕੇ ਬਿਛੁਰਤ ਹੋਤ ਮਿਰਤਕਾ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਮਹਿ ਰਹਨੁ ਨ ਪਾਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
jaa kay bichhurat hot mirtakaa garih meh rahan na paa-ee. ||1|| rahaa-o.
Separated from Whom (Divine Light), the mortal becomes a corpse and cannot remain within his own house. ||1||Pause||
ਜਿਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਸਰੀਰ ਤੋਂ ਵਿੱਛੁੜਿਆਂ ਸਰੀਰ ਮੁਰਦਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, (ਤੇ ਮੁਰਦਾ ਸਰੀਰ) ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕਿਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹਿ ਸਕਦਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਜੀਅ ਹੀਅ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਕੋ ਦਾਤਾ ਜਾ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਸੁਹਾਈ ॥
jee-a heeN-a paraan ko daataa jaa kai sang suhaa-ee.
God who is the giver of soul, heart and breaths, and in whose company this body looks beauteous,
ਜਿਹੜਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜਿੰਦ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ ਹਿਰਦਾ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ ਪ੍ਰਾਣ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਤੇ, ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਇਹ ਸਰੀਰ ਸੋਹਣਾ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਕਰਹੁ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਸੰਤਹੁ ਮੋਹਿ ਅਪੁਨੀ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮੰਗਲ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਈ ॥੧॥
karahu kirpaa santahu mohi apunee parabh mangal gun gaa-ee. ||1||
O’ saintly people, bestow mercy and bless me that I may sing joyful songs of God’s praises. ||1||
ਹੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨੋ! ਮੇਰੇ ਉਤੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰੋ, ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੇ ਗੀਤ ਗਾਂਦਾ ਰਹਾਂ ॥੧॥
ਚਰਨ ਸੰਤਨ ਕੇ ਮਾਥੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਊਪਰਿ ਨੈਨਹੁ ਧੂਰਿ ਬਾਂਛਾਈ ॥
charan santan kay maathay mayray oopar nainhu Dhoor baaNchhaa-eeN.
I long for the humble service and teachings of saints so much that I feel as if their feet are on my forehead and the dust of their feet touches my eyes.
ਮੇਰੀ ਤਾਂਘ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਮੱਥੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਟਿਕੇ ਰਹਿਣ, ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਧੂੜ ਮੇਰੀਆਂ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਲੱਗਦੀ ਰਹੇ।
ਜਿਹ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਮਿਲੀਐ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਨਾਨਕ ਬਲਿ ਬਲਿ ਤਾ ਕੈ ਹਉ ਜਾਈ ॥੨॥੩॥੧੭॥
jih parsaad milee-ai parabh naanak bal bal taa kai ha-o jaa-ee. ||2||3||17||
O’ Nanak! I am dedicated to those saints by whose grace we realize God. ||2||3||17||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ, ਮੈਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਸਦਕੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ ॥੨॥੩॥੧੭॥

ਉਆ ਅਉਸਰ ਕੈ ਹਉ ਬਲਿ ਜਾਈ ॥
u-aa a-osar kai ha-o bal jaa-ee.
I am dedicated to that auspicious opportunity when I was blessed with the company of saints,
ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਤੋਂ ਸਦਕੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ (ਜਦੋਂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋਈ,
ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਅਪਨਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸਿਮਰਨੁ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਂਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
aath pahar apnaa parabh simran vadbhaagee har paaN-ee. ||1|| rahaa-o.
now I always remember my God with adoration and by good fortune, I have realized God. ||1||Pause||
ਹੁਣ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਅੱਠੇ ਪਹਿਰ ਆਪਣੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਮਿਲ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ, ਤੇ ਵੱਡੇ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਮੈਂ ਹਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਲੱਭ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਭਲੋ ਕਬੀਰੁ ਦਾਸੁ ਦਾਸਨ ਕੋ ਊਤਮੁ ਸੈਨੁ ਜਨੁ ਨਾਈ ॥
bhalo kabeer daas daasan ko ootam sain jan naa-ee.
By becoming devotee of God’s devotees, Kabir became praiseworthy, the life of devotee Saain, the barber, became sublime,
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਦਾਸਾਂ ਦਾ ਦਾਸ ਬਣ ਕੇ, ਕਬੀਰ ਭਲਾ ਬਣ ਗਿਆ, ਸੈਣ ਨਾਈ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਦਾਸ ਬਣ ਕੇ ਉੱਤਮ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ।
ਊਚ ਤੇ ਊਚ ਨਾਮਦੇਉ ਸਮਦਰਸੀ ਰਵਿਦਾਸ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਬਣਿ ਆਈ ॥੧॥
ooch tay ooch naamday-o samadrasee ravidaas thaakur ban aa-ee. ||1||
devotee Namdev attained the highest of the high spiritual status and viewed all as equal, and devotee Ravidas developed love for God. ||1||
ਨਾਮਦੇਵ ਉੱਚੇ ਤੋਂ ਉੱਚੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਬਣਿਆ, ਅਤੇ ਸਭ ਨੂੰ ਇਕੋ ਜਿਹਾ ਵੇਖਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਬਣ ਗਿਆ, ਅਤੇ ਰਵਿਦਾਸ ਦੀ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਬਣ ਗਈ ॥੧॥
ਜੀਉ ਪਿੰਡੁ ਤਨੁ ਧਨੁ ਸਾਧਨ ਕਾ ਇਹੁ ਮਨੁ ਸੰਤ ਰੇਨਾਈ ॥
jee-o pind tan Dhan saaDhan kaa ih man sant raynaa-ee.
My life, body, mind, and wealth are dedicated to the saints, and this mind of mine remains as the humble servant) of the saint’s.
ਮੇਰੀ ਇਹ ਜਿੰਦ, ਮੇਰਾ ਇਹ ਸਰੀਰ, ਇਹ ਤਨ, ਇਹ ਧਨ-ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਹੋ ਚੁਕਿਆ ਹੈ, ਮੇਰਾ ਇਹ ਮਨ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਧੂੜ ਬਣਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਸੰਤ ਪ੍ਰਤਾਪਿ ਭਰਮ ਸਭਿ ਨਾਸੇ ਨਾਨਕ ਮਿਲੇ ਗੁਸਾਈ ॥੨॥੪॥੧੮॥
sant partaap bharam sabh naasay naanak milay gusaa-ee. ||2||4||18||
O’ Nanak, by the grace of saints all one’s doubts are erased and one realizes God, the Master of the universe. ||2||4||18||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਤਾਪ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਰੇ ਭਰਮ ਨਾਸ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਜਗਤ ਦਾ ਖਸਮ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਮਿਲ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥੪॥੧੮॥
