ਜਪਿ ਮਨ ਗੋਵਿੰਦੁ ਹਰਿ ਗੋਵਿੰਦੁ ਗੁਣੀ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ਸਭ ਸ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਕਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੋ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਹਰਿ ਬੋਲਿ ਹਰਿ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਅਬਿਨਾਸੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
jap man govind har govind gunee niDhaan sabh sarisat kaa parabho mayray man har bol har purakh abhinaasee. ||1|| rahaa-o.
O’ my mind, lovingly remember God, the treasurer of virtues and master of the entire universe: Yes O’ my mind, recite the Name of the eternal God who is pervading everywhere. ||1||Pause||
ਹੇ (ਮੇਰੇ) ਮਨ! ਗੋਬਿੰਦ (ਦਾ ਨਾਮ) ਜਪ, ਹਰੀ (ਦਾ ਨਾਮ) ਜਪ। ਹਰੀ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਹੈ, ਸਾਰੀ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਉਚਾਰਿਆ ਕਰ, ਉਹ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਸਰਬ-ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੈ, ਨਾਸ-ਰਹਿਤ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰੇ ਸੋ ਪੀਐ ਜਿਸੁ ਰਾਮੁ ਪਿਆਸੀ ॥
har kaa naam amrit har har haray so pee-ai jis raam pi-aasee.
God’s Name is the ambrosial nectar, he alone partakes in it whom God inspires.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਜਲ ਹੈ, ਇਹ ਜਲ ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪੀਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆਪ ਪਿਲਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਹਰਿ ਆਪਿ ਦਇਆਲੁ ਦਇਆ ਕਰਿ ਮੇਲੈ ਜਿਸੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਸੋ ਜਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਨਾਮੁ ਚਖਾਸੀ ॥੧॥
har aap da-i-aal da-i-aa kar maylai jis satguroo so jan har har amrit naam chakhaasee. ||1||
Bestowing mercy, whom the merciful God unites with the true Guru, that devotee tastes the ambrosial nectar of God’s Name. ||1||
ਦਇਆ ਦਾ ਘਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ-ਜਲ ਚੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਜੋ ਜਨ ਸੇਵਹਿ ਸਦ ਸਦਾ ਮੇਰਾ ਹਰਿ ਹਰੇ ਤਿਨ ਕਾ ਸਭੁ ਦੂਖੁ ਭਰਮੁ ਭਉ ਜਾਸੀ ॥
jo jan sayveh sad sadaa mayraa har haray tin kaa sabh dookh bharam bha-o jaasee.
Those who always remember God with adoration, all their sorrows, doubt and fear vanish.
ਜਿਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਹਰੇਕ ਦੁੱਖ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਹਰੇਕ ਭਰਮ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਹਰੇਕ ਡਰ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਜਨੁ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਲਏ ਤਾਂ ਜੀਵੈ ਜਿਉ ਚਾਤ੍ਰਿਕੁ ਜਲਿ ਪੀਐ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਾਸੀ ॥੨॥੫॥੧੨॥
jan naanak naam la-ay taaN jeevai ji-o chaatrik jal pee-ai tariptaasee. ||2||5||12||
Just as the song-bird is satiated when it drinks the drop of rain, similarly devotee Nanak feels spiritually rejuvenated by remembering God’s Name. ||2||5||12||
(ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ) ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ (ਭੀ ਜਦੋਂ) ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਦੋਂ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਵੇਂ ਪਪੀਹਾ (ਸ੍ਵਾਂਤੀ ਨਛੱਤ੍ਰ ਦੀ ਵਰਖਾ ਦਾ) ਪਾਣੀ ਪੀਣ ਨਾਲ ਰੱਜ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥੫॥੧੨॥

ਜਪਿ ਮਨ ਸਿਰੀ ਰਾਮੁ ॥ ਰਾਮ ਰਮਤ ਰਾਮੁ ॥ ਸਤਿ ਸਤਿ ਰਾਮੁ ॥
jap man siree raam.raam ramat raam. sat sat raam.
O’ my mind, lovingly remember the revered God, who is pervading everywhere and is eternal.
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ! ਸ੍ਰੀ ਰਾਮ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪ, (ਉਸ ਰਾਮ ਦਾ) ਜਿਹੜਾ ਸਭ ਥਾਈਂ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੈ, ਜਿਹੜਾ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ।
ਬੋਲਹੁ ਭਈਆ ਸਦ ਰਾਮ ਰਾਮੁ ਰਾਮੁ ਰਵਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਸਰਬਗੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
bolhu bha-ee-aa sad raam raam raam rav rahi-aa sarabgay. ||1|| rahaa-o.
O’ brother, always recite the Name of the all pervading omniscient God with loving devotion. ||1||Pause||
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਸਦਾ ਰਾਮ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਬੋਲਿਆ ਕਰੋ, ਉਹ ਸਭ ਥਾਵਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਰਾਮੁ ਆਪੇ ਆਪਿ ਆਪੇ ਸਭੁ ਕਰਤਾ ਰਾਮੁ ਆਪੇ ਆਪਿ ਆਪਿ ਸਭਤੁ ਜਗੇ ॥
raam aapay aap aapay sabh kartaa raam aapay aap aap sabhat jagay.
God is all by Himself, He Himself is the Creator of everything and is present everywhere in the world.
ਉਹ ਰਾਮ (ਸਭ ਥਾਈਂ) ਆਪ ਹੀ ਆਪ ਹੈ, ਆਪ ਹੀ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਸਭਨੀਂ ਥਾਈਂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਆਪ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੈ।
ਜਿਸੁ ਆਪਿ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਰਾਮ ਰਾਮ ਰਾਮ ਰਾਇ ਸੋ ਜਨੁ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਗੇ ॥੧॥
jis aap kirpaa karay mayraa raam raam raam raa-ay so jan raam naam liv laagay. ||1||
That person on whom my God bestows mercy, focuses his mind on His Name. ||1||
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਤੇ ਉਹ ਮੇਰਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਰਾਮ ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਰਾਮ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਲਗਨ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਕੀ ਉਪਮਾ ਦੇਖਹੁ ਹਰਿ ਸੰਤਹੁ ਜੋ ਭਗਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਕੀ ਪਤਿ ਰਾਖੈ ਵਿਚਿ ਕਲਿਜੁਗ ਅਗੇ ॥
raam naam kee upmaa daykhhu har santahu jo bhagat janaaN kee pat raakhai vich kalijug agay.
O’ saints of God, look at the glory of God’s Name, which saves the honor of His devotees in the midst of the fire of the evils of Kal-Yug.
ਹੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨੋ! ਉਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਵੇਖੋ, ਜਿਹੜਾ ਇਸ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ-ਭਰੇ ਜਗਤ ਦੀ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਅੱਗ ਵਿਚ ਆਪਣੇ ਭਗਤਾਂ ਦੀ ਆਪ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਕਾ ਅੰਗੁ ਕੀਆ ਮੇਰੈ ਰਾਮ ਰਾਇ ਦੁਸਮਨ ਦੂਖ ਗਏ ਸਭਿ ਭਗੇ ॥੨॥੬॥੧੩॥
jan naanak kaa ang kee-aa mayrai raam raa-ay dusman dookh ga-ay sabh bhagay. ||2||6||13||
My God, the sovereign King, has taken the side of devotee Nanak and all his enemies (vices) and sorrows ran away. ||2||6||13||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਮੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਾਤਿਸ਼ਾਹ ਨੇ (ਆਪਣੇ ਜਿਸ) ਸੇਵਕ ਦਾ ਪੱਖ ਕੀਤਾ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਵੈਰੀ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਦੁੱਖ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਗਏ ॥੨॥੬॥੧੩॥

ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥

One eternal God, realized by the grace of the True Guru:
ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਮੂਰਤਿ ਕਉ ਬਲਿ ਜਾਉ ॥
satgur moorat ka-o bal jaa-o.
I am dedicated to my true Guru, the embodiment of God.
ਮੈਂ (ਤਾਂ ਆਪਣੇ) ਗੁਰੂ ਤੋਂ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
ਅੰਤਰਿ ਪਿਆਸ ਚਾਤ੍ਰਿਕ ਜਿਉ ਜਲ ਕੀ ਸਫਲ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਕਦਿ ਪਾਂਉ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
antar pi-aas chaatrik ji-o jal kee safal darsan kad paaN-o. ||1|| rahaa-o.
Just as the song-bird has the thirst for rain drop, similarly I keep wondering, when would I have the fruitful vision of the Divine-Guru? ||1||Pause||
ਜਿਵੇਂ ਪਪੀਹੇ ਨੂੰ (ਸ੍ਵਾਂਤੀ ਨਛੱਤ੍ਰ ਦੀ ਵਰਖਾ ਦੇ) ਪਾਣੀ ਦੀ ਪਿਆਸ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ, (ਤਿਵੇਂ ਮੇਰੇ) ਅੰਦਰ ਇਹ ਤਾਂਘ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਕਦੋਂ ਉਸ ਗੁਰ-ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ਰ ਦਾ ਦਰਸਨ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ ਜੋ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਮੁਰਾਦਾਂ ਪੂਰੀਆਂ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਅਨਾਥਾ ਕੋ ਨਾਥੁ ਸਰਬ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਲਕੁ ਭਗਤਿ ਵਛਲੁ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਉ ॥
anaathaa ko naath sarab partipaalak bhagat vachhal har naa-o.
O’ God! You are the Master of the masterless, sustainer of all, and the lover of devotional worship is Your Name.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੂੰ ਨਿਖਸਮਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਖਸਮ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੀ ਪਾਲਣਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ। ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਹੀ ਹੈ ਭਗਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ।
ਜਾ ਕਉ ਕੋਇ ਨ ਰਾਖੈ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ਤਿਸੁ ਤੂ ਦੇਹਿ ਅਸਰਾਉ ॥੧॥
jaa ka-o ko-ay na raakhai paraanee tis too deh asraa-o. ||1||
O’ God, whom no human being can protect, You provide support to him. ||1||
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੀ ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ, ਤੂੰ (ਆਪ) ਉਸ ਨੂੰ (ਆਪਣਾ) ਆਸਰਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈਂ ॥੧॥
ਨਿਧਰਿਆ ਧਰ ਨਿਗਤਿਆ ਗਤਿ ਨਿਥਾਵਿਆ ਤੂ ਥਾਉ ॥
niDhri-aa Dhar nigti-aa gat nithaavi-aa too thaa-o.
O’ God! You are the support of the supportless, saving grace of the wretches and refuge of those who are destitutes.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਸਹਾਰਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ, ਤੂੰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਹਾਰਾ ਬਣਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਮੰਦੀ ਭੈੜੀ ਹਾਲਤ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਤੂੰ ਚੰਗੀ ਹਾਲਤ ਬਣਾਂਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਤੇ ਢੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲਦੀ, ਤੂੰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਹੈਂ।
ਦਹ ਦਿਸ ਜਾਂਉ ਤਹਾਂ ਤੂ ਸੰਗੇ ਤੇਰੀ ਕੀਰਤਿ ਕਰਮ ਕਮਾਉ ॥੨॥
dah dis jaaN-o tahaaN too sangay tayree keerat karam kamaa-o. ||2||
In all the ten directions, wherever I go, You are there with me; it is only by Your grace that, I do the deed of singing Your praises. ||2||
ਦਸੀਂ ਹੀ ਪਾਸੀਂ ਜਿਧਰ ਮੈਂ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਉਥੇ ਹੀ ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਦਿੱਸਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਤੇਰੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਨਾਲ ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੀ ਕਾਰ ਕਮਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ ॥੨॥
ਏਕਸੁ ਤੇ ਲਾਖ ਲਾਖ ਤੇ ਏਕਾ ਤੇਰੀ ਗਤਿ ਮਿਤਿ ਕਹਿ ਨ ਸਕਾਉ ॥
aykas tay laakh laakh tay aykaa tayree gat mit kahi na sakaa-o.
O’ God, from Your Oneness, You become tens of thousands and from tens of thousands, You become One: I cannot describe Your state and extent.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੈਂ ਇੱਕ ਤੋਂ ਲੱਖਾਂ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੰਡ ਬਣਦੇ ਹਨ, ਤੇ, ਲੱਖਾਂ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੰਡਾਂ ਤੋਂ (ਫਿਰ) ਤੂੰ ਇਕ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਆਪ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈਂ। ਮੈਂ ਦੱਸ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ ਕਿ ਤੂੰ ਕਿਹੋ ਜਿਹਾ ਹੈਂ ਅਤੇ ਕੇਡਾ ਵੱਡਾ ਹੈਂ।
ਤੂ ਬੇਅੰਤੁ ਤੇਰੀ ਮਿਤਿ ਨਹੀ ਪਾਈਐ ਸਭੁ ਤੇਰੋ ਖੇਲੁ ਦਿਖਾਉ ॥੩॥
too bay-ant tayree mit nahee paa-ee-ai sabh tayro khayl dikhaa-o. ||3||
O’ God! You are infinite, Your worth cannot be appraised, all what I see is the play created by You. ||3||
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੂੰ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਹੈਂ, ਤੇਰੀ ਹਸਤੀ ਦਾ ਅੰਦਾਜ਼ਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਲਾਇਆ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ। ਇਹ ਸਾਰਾ ਜਗਤ ਮੈਂ ਤਾਂ ਤੇਰਾ ਹੀ ਰਚਿਆ ਤਮਾਸ਼ਾ ਵੇਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ ॥੩॥
ਸਾਧਨ ਕਾ ਸੰਗੁ ਸਾਧ ਸਿਉ ਗੋਸਟਿ ਹਰਿ ਸਾਧਨ ਸਿਉ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਉ ॥
saaDhan kaa sang saaDh si-o gosat har saaDhan si-o liv laa-o.
O’ God, I join the company of Your saints, I converse with the saints about Your virtues and focus on You in the company of Your saints.
(ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੈਂ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਸੰਗ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਮੈਂ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ (ਤੇਰੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦਾ) ਵਿਚਾਰ-ਵਟਾਂਦਰਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਤੇਰੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਰਹਿ ਕੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਸੁਰਤ ਜੋੜਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਪਾਇਆ ਹੈ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਹਰਿ ਦੇਹੁ ਦਰਸੁ ਮਨਿ ਚਾਉ ॥੪॥੧॥
jan naanak paa-i-aa hai gurmat har dayh daras man chaa-o. ||4||1||
O’ Nanak! say, O’ God! the devotees have realized You by following the Guru’s teachings; in my mind is a desire, bless me with Your divine vision. ||4||1||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ, ਆਖ, ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਮੱਤ ਉਤੇ ਤੁਰਿਆਂ ਭਗਤਾ ਨੇ ਤੇਰਾ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਪਾਇਆ ਹੈ, ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਬੜੀ ਤਾਂਘ ਹੈ, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਦਰਸਨ ਦੇਹ ॥੪॥੧॥

Raag Sarang, Fifth Guru:
ਹਰਿ ਜੀਉ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ਜਾਨ ॥
har jee-o antarjaamee jaan.
God is omniscient and wise.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ ਹਰੇਕ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਸੁਜਾਨ ਹਨ।
ਕਰਤ ਬੁਰਾਈ ਮਾਨੁਖ ਤੇ ਛਪਾਈ ਸਾਖੀ ਭੂਤ ਪਵਾਨ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

One does evils, thinking nobody is watching, but he doesn’t understand that God knows even what one had done in the past and what one is going to do in future.||1||Pause||
ਮਨੁੱਖ ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਲੁਕਾ ਕੇ ਕੋਈ ਭੈੜਾ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ (ਉਹ ਇਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਕਿ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਤਾਂ ਪਿਛਲੇ ਬੀਤੇ ਸਮੇ ਦੇ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਅਗਾਂਹ ਭਵਿੱਖ ਦੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਜਾਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਕੰਮਾਂ ਦਾ ਵੇਖਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਬੈਸਨੌ ਨਾਮੁ ਕਰਤ ਖਟ ਕਰਮਾ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਲੋਭ ਜੂਠਾਨ ॥
baisnou naam karat khat karmaa antar lobh joothaan.
Those who call themselves devotees of the god Vishnu and do all the six prescribed rituals of their faith, but within them is the pollution of greed;
(ਜਿਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ) ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਵੈਸ਼ਨੋ ਅਖਵਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, (ਸ਼ਾਸਤ੍ਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਦੱਸੇ ਹੋਏ) ਛੇ ਕਰਮ ਭੀ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, (ਪਰ ਜੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ) ਅੰਦਰ (ਮਨ ਨੂੰ) ਮੈਲਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਲੋਭ ਵੱਸ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ,
ਸੰਤ ਸਭਾ ਕੀ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕਰਤੇ ਡੂਬੇ ਸਭ ਅਗਿਆਨ ॥੧॥
sant sabhaa kee nindaa kartay doobay sabh agi-aan. ||1||
they indulge in the slander of the company of saints and due to spiritual ignorance, they all drown in the world-ocean of vices. ||1||
ਉਹ ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤ ਦੀ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਉਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਤਮਕ ਬੇ-ਸਮਝੀ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ (ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਵਿਚ) ਡੁੱਬ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੧॥
