ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥
ik-oNkaar satgur parsaad.
One eternal God, realized by the grace of the true Guru:
ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਗੁਰੁ ਸੇਵਉ ਕਰਿ ਨਮਸਕਾਰ ॥
gur sayva-o kar namaskaar.
I humbly follow the Guru’s teachings and bow before him in gratitude,
ਮੈਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਅੱਗੇ ਸਿਰ ਨਿਵਾ ਕੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ,
ਆਜੁ ਹਮਾਰੈ ਮੰਗਲਚਾਰ ॥
aaj hamaarai mangalchaar.
because now there is a spiritual bliss in my heart.
ਕਿਉਕਿ ਹੁਣ ਮੇਰੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਬੜਾ ਆਨੰਦ ਬਣਿਆ ਪਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਆਜੁ ਹਮਾਰੈ ਮਹਾ ਅਨੰਦ ॥
aaj hamaarai mahaa anand.
Yes, now there are great bliss in my mind,
ਹੁਣ ਮੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ੀਆਂ ਹੀ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ੀਆਂ ਹਨ l
ਚਿੰਤ ਲਥੀ ਭੇਟੇ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ॥੧॥
chint lathee bhaytay gobind. ||1||
because I have realized God and all my worries have been dispelled. ||1||
ਕਿਉਕਿ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਜੀ ਮਿਲ ਪਏ ਹਨ, ਮੇਰੀ ਹਰੇਕ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਆਜੁ ਹਮਾਰੈ ਗ੍ਰਿਹਿ ਬਸੰਤ ॥
aaj hamaarai garihi basant.
Now spiritual peace is always there in my heart,
ਹੁਣ ਮੇਰੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ-ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਬਣਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਗੁਨ ਗਾਏ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਤੁਮ੍ਹ੍ ਬੇਅੰਤ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
gun gaa-ay parabh tumH bay-ant. ||1|| rahaa-o.
because O’ my infinite God, I have started singing Your praises. ||1||Pause||
ਕਿਓਂਕਿ ਹੇ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੇ ਗੀਤ ਗਾਣੇ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕੀਤੇ ਹਨ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਆਜੁ ਹਮਾਰੈ ਬਨੇ ਫਾਗ ॥
aaj hamaarai banay faag.
Today I feel as if the month of Phaggan (Holi, the festival of colors in mid-March) has dawned in my heart,
ਮੇਰੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਅੱਜ (ਮਾਨੋ) ਫੱਗਣ ਦੀ ਹੋਲੀ ਬਣੀ ਪਈ ਹੈ,
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸੰਗੀ ਮਿਲਿ ਖੇਲਨ ਲਾਗ ॥
parabh sangee mil khaylan laag.
and joining together the saintly companions have started singing God’s praises as if playing the festival of Holi.
ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਹੋਲੀ (ਆਤਮਿਕ ਰੰਗ ਵਿਚ) ਖੇਡਣ ਲੱਗ ਪਏ ਹਨ।
ਹੋਲੀ ਕੀਨੀ ਸੰਤ ਸੇਵ ॥
holee keenee sant sayv.
I have made my loving devotion to saints as my festival of Holi,
ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਨੂੰ ਮੈਂ ਹੋਲੀ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਹੈ,
ਰੰਗੁ ਲਾਗਾ ਅਤਿ ਲਾਲ ਦੇਵ ॥੨॥
rang laagaa at laal dayv. ||2||
and I have been imbued with the deep crimson color of God’s love. ||2||
ਮੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਪਿਆਰ ਦਾ ਗੂੜ੍ਹਾ ਰੰਗ ਚੜ੍ਹ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਮਉਲਿਓ ਅਤਿ ਅਨੂਪ ॥
man tan ma-uli-o at anoop.
My mind and body have blossomed into such an incomparable beauty,
ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨ ਤਨ ਬਹੁਤ ਸੋਹਣਾ ਖਿੜ ਪਿਆ ਹੈ,
ਸੂਕੈ ਨਾਹੀ ਛਾਵ ਧੂਪ ॥
sookai naahee chhaav Dhoop.
that this bloom does not wither in sun or shade (in peace or misery).
ਹੁਣ ਸੁਖ ਹੋਣ ਚਾਹੇ ਦੁੱਖ ਇਹ ਆਤਮਕ ਖਿੜਾਉ ਦੀ ਤਰਾਵਤ ਕਦੇ ਮੁੱਕਦੀ ਨਹੀਂ।
ਸਗਲੀ ਰੂਤੀ ਹਰਿਆ ਹੋਇ ॥
saglee rootee hari-aa ho-ay.
My mind remains spiritually delighted in every situation like an evergreen garden which flourishes in all seasons.
(ਹੁਣ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨ) ਸਾਰੇ ਮੌਸਮਾਂ ਅੰਦਰ (ਸਾਰੇ ਸਮਿਆਂ ਵਿਚ) ਹੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਨਾਲ ਭਰਪੂਰ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਸਦ ਬਸੰਤ ਗੁਰ ਮਿਲੇ ਦੇਵ ॥੩॥
sad basant gur milay dayv. ||3||
I have met the Divine-Guru and now I am always spiritually blossoming. ||3||
ਮੈਨੂੰ ਗੁਰਦੇਵ ਜੀ ਮਿਲ ਪਏ ਹਨ, ਮੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਸਦਾ ਖਿੜਾਉ ਬਣਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਬਿਰਖੁ ਜਮਿਓ ਹੈ ਪਾਰਜਾਤ ॥
birakh jami-o hai paarjaat.
(By singing praises of God), I am enjoying such blessings, as if the wish-fulfilling celestial tree (Parijat) has sprouted within me,
(ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਮੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ, ਮਾਨੋ, ਮਨੋ-ਕਾਮਨਾ ਪੂਰੀਆਂ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਸਵਰਗੀ) ਪਾਰਜਾਤ ਰੁੱਖ ਉੱਗ ਪਿਆ ਹੈ,
ਫੂਲ ਲਗੇ ਫਲ ਰਤਨ ਭਾਂਤਿ ॥
fool lagay fal ratan bhaaNt.
which has been laden with precious virtues like many kinds of flowers and fruits.
ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਭਾਂਤ ਭਾਂਤ ਦੇ ਕੀਮਤੀ ਰਤਨ ਵਰਗੇ ਫੁੱਲ ਤੇ ਫਲ ਲੱਗੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ।
ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਿ ਅਘਾਨੇ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣਹ ਗਾਇ ॥
taripat aghaanay har gunah gaa-ay.
People get fully satisfied spiritually by singing praises of God,
ਸਦਾ ਹਰੀ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾ ਗਾ ਕੇ ਪੂਰਨ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਰੱਜ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਧਿਆਇ ॥੪॥੧॥
jan naanak har har har Dhi-aa-ay. ||4||1||
Devotee Nanak always remembers God with loving devotion. ||4||1||
ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਦਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੪॥੧॥

Raag Basant, Fifth Guru:
ਹਟਵਾਣੀ ਧਨ ਮਾਲ ਹਾਟੁ ਕੀਤੁ ॥
hatvaanee Dhan maal haat keet.
O’ my friends, just as a shopkeeper deals in goods in his shop to make money,
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ, ਜਿਵੇਂ ਕੋਈ ਦੁਕਾਨਦਾਰ ਧਨ ਕਮਾਣ ਵਾਸਤੇ (ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ-ਪਸੰਦ ਦੇ) ਮਾਲ ਦੀ ਦੁਕਾਨ ਚਲਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਜੂਆਰੀ ਜੂਏ ਮਾਹਿ ਚੀਤੁ ॥
joo-aaree joo-ay maahi cheet.
a gambler’s mind is focused on gambling,
ਜੁਆਰੀਏ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਜੂਏ ਵਿਚ ਮਗਨ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਅਮਲੀ ਜੀਵੈ ਅਮਲੁ ਖਾਇ ॥
amlee jeevai amal khaa-ay.
and an addict survives by getting the stuff he is addicted to,
ਕੋਈ ਅਮਲੀ ਅਮਲ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਸੁਖ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਤ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਤਿਉ ਹਰਿ ਜਨੁ ਜੀਵੈ ਹਰਿ ਧਿਆਇ ॥੧॥
ti-o har jan jeevai har Dhi-aa-ay. ||1||
similarly a God’s devotee remains spiritually alive by remembering God. ||1||
ਤਿਵੇਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਭਗਤ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰ ਕੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਅਪਨੈ ਰੰਗਿ ਸਭੁ ਕੋ ਰਚੈ ॥
apnai rang sabh ko rachai.
O’ my friends, everyone is absorbed in doing what he is comfortable with,
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ, ਹਰੇਕ ਜੀਵ ਆਪੋ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ-ਭਾਉਂਦੇ ਸੁਆਦ ਵਿਚ ਮਸਤ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਜਿਤੁ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਲਾਇਆ ਤਿਤੁ ਤਿਤੁ ਲਗੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
jit parabh laa-i-aa tit tit lagai. ||1|| rahaa-o.
but in reality one remains attached to whatever God has attached him. ||1||Pause||
(ਪਰ) ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ (ਹੀ) ਜਿਸ (ਸੁਆਦ) ਵਿਚ ਲਾਇਆ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਉਸ (ਸੁਆਦ) ਵਿਚ (ਹਰੇਕ ਜੀਵ) ਲੱਗਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਮੇਘ ਸਮੈ ਮੋਰ ਨਿਰਤਿਕਾਰ ॥
maygh samai mor nirtikaar.
Just as when there are clouds in the sky, a peacock becomes a dancer,
ਘਟਾਂ ਚੜ੍ਹਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ ਤਾਂ ਮੋਰ ਪੈਲਾਂ ਪਾਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਚੰਦ ਦੇਖਿ ਬਿਗਸਹਿ ਕਉਲਾਰ ॥
chand daykh bigsahi ka-ulaar.
and lotuses blossom in moonlight.
ਚੰਦ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਕੰਮੀਆਂ ਖਿੜਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ,
ਮਾਤਾ ਬਾਰਿਕ ਦੇਖਿ ਅਨੰਦ ॥
maataa baarik daykh anand.
and a mother feels elated on seeing her child,
(ਆਪਣੇ) ਬੱਚੇ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਮਾਂ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ,
ਤਿਉ ਹਰਿ ਜਨ ਜੀਵਹਿ ਜਪਿ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ॥੨॥
ti-o har jan jeeveh jap gobind. ||2||
similarly a God’s devotee feels spiritually rejuvenated by remembering God. ||2||
ਤਿਵੇਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪ ਕੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਭਗਤ ਆਤਮਕ ਹੁਲਾਰੇ ਵਿਚ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਸਿੰਘ ਰੁਚੈ ਸਦ ਭੋਜਨੁ ਮਾਸ ॥
singh ruchai sad bhojan maas.
Just as a lion is pleased upon eating meat,
ਮਾਸ ਦਾ ਭੋਜਨ ਮਿਲੇ ਤਾਂ ਸ਼ੇਰ ਸਦਾ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਰਣੁ ਦੇਖਿ ਸੂਰੇ ਚਿਤ ਉਲਾਸ ॥
ran daykh sooray chit ulaas.
the mind of a warrior is inspired upon seeing the battle field,
ਜੁੱਧ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਸੂਰਮੇ ਦੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਨੂੰ ਜੋਸ਼ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਕਿਰਪਨ ਕਉ ਅਤਿ ਧਨ ਪਿਆਰੁ ॥
kirpan ka-o at Dhan pi-aar.
the miser is totally in love with his wealth,
ਸ਼ੂਮ ਨੂੰ ਧਨ ਦਾ ਬਹੁਤ ਲੋਭ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਹਰਿ ਜਨ ਕਉ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਆਧਾਰੁ ॥੩॥
har jan ka-o har har aaDhaar. ||3||
similarly a God’s devotee depends on God’s support. ||3||
(ਤਿਵੇਂ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਭਗਤ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਸਰਬ ਰੰਗ ਇਕ ਰੰਗ ਮਾਹਿ ॥
sarab rang ik rang maahi.
O’ my friends, the pleasures of all different kinds of loves are included in the love of God.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ, (ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦੇ) ਸਾਰੇ ਸੁਆਦ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਸੁਆਦ ਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਆ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ।
ਸਰਬ ਸੁਖਾ ਸੁਖ ਹਰਿ ਕੈ ਨਾਇ ॥
sarab sukhaa sukh har kai naa-ay.
All kinds of peace and comforts are in the remembrance of God’s Name.
ਸਾਰੇ ਵੱਡੇ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਡੇ ਸੁਖ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਹਨ।
ਤਿਸਹਿ ਪਰਾਪਤਿ ਇਹੁ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ॥ ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰੁ ਜਿਸੁ ਕਰੇ ਦਾਨੁ ॥੪॥੨॥
tiseh paraapat ih niDhaan. naanak gur jis karay daan. ||4||2||
O’ Nanak, only that person receives this treasure of Naam whom the Guru bestowes it. ||4||2||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਇਹ ਨਾਮ-ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੪॥੨॥

Raag Basant, Fifth Guru:
ਤਿਸੁ ਬਸੰਤੁ ਜਿਸੁ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲੁ ॥
tis basant jis parabh kirpaal.
That person alone experiences Basant, the spiritual delight, unto whom God bestows grace.
ਆਤਮਕ ਖਿੜਾਉ ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਉੱਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਇਆਵਾਨ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਤਿਸੁ ਬਸੰਤੁ ਜਿਸੁ ਗੁਰੁ ਦਇਆਲੁ ॥
tis basant jis gur da-i-aal.
He alone experiences the spiritual rejuvenation, unto whom the Guru is merciful.
ਆਤਮਕ ਖਿੜਾਉ ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਉਤੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦਇਆਵਾਨ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਮੰਗਲੁ ਤਿਸ ਕੈ ਜਿਸੁ ਏਕੁ ਕਾਮੁ ॥
mangal tis kai jis ayk kaam.
There is always spiritual bliss for that person whose only favorite task is to remember God.
ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ੀ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਇਕ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਆਹਰ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਤਿਸੁ ਸਦ ਬਸੰਤੁ ਜਿਸੁ ਰਿਦੈ ਨਾਮੁ ॥੧॥
tis sad basant jis ridai naam. ||1||
There is always spiritual delight for that person in whose heart is enshrined God’s Name. ||1||
ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਖਿੜਾਉ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਗ੍ਰਿਹਿ ਤਾ ਕੇ ਬਸੰਤੁ ਗਨੀ ॥
garihi taa kay basant ganee.
I consider only that person’s heart spiritually blossomed,
ਮੈਂ ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਖਿੜਾਉ (ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋਇਆ) ਸਮਝਦਾ ਹਾਂ,
ਜਾ ਕੈ ਕੀਰਤਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਧੁਨੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
jaa kai keertan har Dhunee. ||1|| rahaa-o.
in which the melody of God’s praises is always playing. ||1||Pause||
ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦਾ ਰਾਗ ਗੂੰਜਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਮਉਲਿ ਮਨਾ ॥
pareet paarbarahm ma-ul manaa.
O’ my mind, always remain delighted by falling in love with supreme God.
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ (ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ) ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਪਾ ਕੇ ਸਦਾ ਖਿੜਿਆ ਰਹੁ,
ਗਿਆਨੁ ਕਮਾਈਐ ਪੂਛਿ ਜਨਾਂ ॥
gi-aan kamaa-ee-ai poochh janaaN.
The divine wisdom is attained by seeking the advice of saintly people.
ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪੁੱਛ ਕੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੀ ਸੂਝ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰੀਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਸੋ ਤਪਸੀ ਜਿਸੁ ਸਾਧਸੰਗੁ ॥
so tapsee jis saaDhsang.
He alone is a real ascetic, who has the company of the Guru.
(ਅਸਲ) ਤਪਸ੍ਵੀ ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ,
ਸਦ ਧਿਆਨੀ ਜਿਸੁ ਗੁਰਹਿ ਰੰਗੁ ॥੨॥
sad Dhi-aanee jis gureh rang. ||2||
He alone always remains focused on God who is imbued with the love of the Guru’s word. ||2||
ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਦਾ ਜੁੜੀ ਸੁਰਤ ਵਾਲਾ ਜਾਣੋ, ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਗੁਰ (-ਚਰਨਾਂ) ਦਾ ਪਿਆਰ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਸੇ ਨਿਰਭਉ ਜਿਨ੍ਹ੍ ਭਉ ਪਇਆ ॥
say nirbha-o jinH bha-o pa-i-aa.
They alone are free from the worldly fears, who have the revered fear of God in their mind.
ਉਹ ਬੰਦੇ (ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦੇ) ਡਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਉਤਾਂਹ ਹਨ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਡਰ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਸੋ ਸੁਖੀਆ ਜਿਸੁ ਭ੍ਰਮੁ ਗਇਆ ॥
so sukhee-aa jis bharam ga-i-aa.
He alone is truly happy whose doubt has been dispelled.
ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸੁਖੀ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ (ਦੇ ਮਨ) ਦੀ ਭਟਕਣਾ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਹੈ।
ਸੋ ਇਕਾਂਤੀ ਜਿਸੁ ਰਿਦਾ ਥਾਇ ॥
so ikaaNtee jis ridaa thaa-ay.
He alone is truly a recluse whose mind is spiritually stable.
ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਵੈਰਾਗੀ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਹਿਰਦਾ ਇਕ ਥਾਂ ਟਿਕਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ,
ਸੋਈ ਨਿਹਚਲੁ ਸਾਚ ਠਾਇ ॥੩॥
so-ee nihchal saach thaa-ay. ||3||
and he alone is spiritually stable whose mind always remains focused on God’s Name. ||3||
ਉਹੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਅਡੋਲ ਚਿੱਤ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਹੜਾ ਸਦਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਏਕਾ ਖੋਜੈ ਏਕ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ॥
aykaa khojai ayk pareet.
One who seeks and has love for God alone,
ਜਿਹੜਾ ਇਕ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਭਾਲਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਇਕ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਹੀ ਪਿਆਰ ਹੈ,
ਦਰਸਨ ਪਰਸਨ ਹੀਤ ਚੀਤਿ ॥
darsan parsan heet cheet.
and in whose mind, is a craving for visualizing and feeling God,
ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਵਿਚ ਇਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਦਰਸਨ ਦੀ ਤੇ ਛੁਹ ਦੀ ਤਾਂਘ ਹੈ,
ਹਰਿ ਰੰਗ ਰੰਗਾ ਸਹਜਿ ਮਾਣੁ ॥
har rang rangaa sahj maan.
and who in a state of spiritual poise enjoys being imbued with God’s love,
ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕ ਕੇ ਸਭ ਰਸਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਸ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਟ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ-ਰਸ ਮਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾਸ ਤਿਸੁ ਜਨ ਕੁਰਬਾਣੁ ॥੪॥੩॥
naanak daas tis jan kurbaan. ||4||3||
devotee Nanak is dedicated to that person. ||4||3||
ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਤੋਂ ਸਦਕੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੪॥੩॥
