ਜਿਸੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਰਿਦੈ ਸੋ ਸੀਤਲੁ ਹੂਆ ॥
jis naam ridai so seetal hoo-aa.
In whose heart manifests God’s Name, becomes completely calm and content.
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਹਿਰਦਾ (ਪੂਰਨ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ) ਸ਼ਾਂਤ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਨਾਮ ਬਿਨਾ ਧ੍ਰਿਗੁ ਜੀਵਣੁ ਮੂਆ ॥੨॥
naam binaa Dharig jeevan moo-aa. ||2||
Accursed is the life without God’s Name, and such a person spiritually deteriorates. ||2||
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤ ਸਹੇੜ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਫਿਟਕਾਰ-ਜੋਗ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਜਿਸੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਰਿਦੈ ਸੋ ਜੀਵਨ ਮੁਕਤਾ ॥
jis naam ridai so jeevan muktaa.
In whose mind is enshrined God’s Name, is liberated from the love of worldly attachments, even while alive.
ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਆ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਤ-ਕਾਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੀ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵ ਤੋਂ ਪਰੇ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਜਿਸੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਰਿਦੈ ਤਿਸੁ ਸਭ ਹੀ ਜੁਗਤਾ ॥
jis naam ridai tis sabh hee jugtaa.
In whose mind is enshrined God’s Name, knows all the ways of righteous life.
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਆ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਚੱਜੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਜਾਚ ਆ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਜਿਸੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਰਿਦੈ ਤਿਨਿ ਨਉ ਨਿਧਿ ਪਾਈ ॥
jis naam ridai tin na-o niDh paa-ee.
In whose heart is enshrined God’s Name feels as if he has received all the treasures of the word.
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਆ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ (ਮਾਨੋ, ਧਰਤੀ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਹੀ) ਨੌ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਲਏ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਨਾਮ ਬਿਨਾ ਭ੍ਰਮਿ ਆਵੈ ਜਾਈ ॥੩॥
naam binaa bharam aavai jaa-ee. ||3||
Without God’s Name, the mortal wanders and keeps going through reincarnations. ||3||
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ ਭਟਕਣਾ ਵਿਚ ਪੈ ਕੇ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਦੇ ਗੇੜ ਵਿਚ ਪੈ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਜਿਸੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਰਿਦੈ ਸੋ ਵੇਪਰਵਾਹਾ ॥
jis naam ridai so vayparvaahaa.
In whose heart is enshrined God’s Name, becomes free of worries.
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਆ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਬੇ-ਮੁਥਾਜ ਟਿਕਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਜਿਸੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਰਿਦੈ ਤਿਸੁ ਸਦ ਹੀ ਲਾਹਾ ॥
jis naam ridai tis sad hee laahaa.
In whose heart is enshrined God’s Name, always attain a high spiritual state.
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਆ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ , ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਉੱਚੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੀ ਖੱਟੀ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਜਿਸੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਰਿਦੈ ਤਿਸੁ ਵਡ ਪਰਵਾਰਾ ॥
jis naam ridai tis vad parvaaraa.
In whose heart is enshrined God’s Name, has a large family (to such a person, the entire world seems to be his family.)
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਆ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਵੱਡਾ ਪਰਵਾਰ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ (ਭਾਵ, ਸਾਰਾ ਜਗਤ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਦਿੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ)।
ਨਾਮ ਬਿਨਾ ਮਨਮੁਖ ਗਾਵਾਰਾ ॥੪॥
naam binaa manmukh gaavaaraa. ||4||
But the one who lives one’s life without meditating on God’s Name, becomes a self-conceited fool. ||4||
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਦਾ ਮੁਰੀਦ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, (ਜੀਵਨ-ਜਾਚ ਵਲੋਂ) ਮੂਰਖ ਹੀ ਰਹਿ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੪॥
ਜਿਸੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਰਿਦੈ ਤਿਸੁ ਨਿਹਚਲ ਆਸਨੁ ॥
jis naam ridai tis nihchal aasan.
In whose heart is enshrined God’s Name, his mind becomes spiritually stable against vices.
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਆ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦਾ ਹਿਰਦਾ-ਤਖ਼ਤ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਹੱਲਿਆਂ ਵਲੋਂ ਅਡੋਲ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਜਿਸੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਰਿਦੈ ਤਿਸੁ ਤਖਤਿ ਨਿਵਾਸਨੁ ॥
jis naam ridai tis takhat nivaasan.
In whose heart is enshrined God’s Name, he enjoys a supreme spiritual state.
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਆ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ (ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਦੇ ਉੱਚੇ) ਤਖ਼ਤ ਉੱਤੇ ਉਸ ਦਾ (ਸਦਾ ਲਈ) ਨਿਵਾਸ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਜਿਸੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਰਿਦੈ ਸੋ ਸਾਚਾ ਸਾਹੁ ॥
jis naam ridai so saachaa saahu.
In whose mind manifests God’s Name, become spiritually wealthy.
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਆ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਨਾਮ-ਧਨ ਦਾ ਸ਼ਾਹ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਨਾਮਹੀਣ ਨਾਹੀ ਪਤਿ ਵੇਸਾਹੁ ॥੫॥
naamheen naahee pat vaysaahu. ||5||
The one without God’s Name is neither respected nor trusted. ||5||
ਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਸੱਖਣੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੀ ਨਾਹ ਕਿਤੇ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਨਾਹ ਕਿਤੇ ਇਤਬਾਰ ਬਣਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੫॥
ਜਿਸੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਰਿਦੈ ਸੋ ਸਭ ਮਹਿ ਜਾਤਾ ॥
jis naam ridai so sabh meh jaataa.
In whose heart is enshrined God’s Name, becomes well known among all.
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਆ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਸਭ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਸੋਭਾ ਖੱਟਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਜਿਸੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਰਿਦੈ ਸੋ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਬਿਧਾਤਾ ॥
jis naam ridai so purakh biDhaataa.
In whose heart is enshrined God’s Name, becomes the embodiment of God, the Creator.
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਆ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਰਬ-ਵਿਆਪਕ ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰ ਦਾ ਰੂਪ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਜਿਸੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਰਿਦੈ ਸੋ ਸਭ ਤੇ ਊਚਾ ॥
jis naam ridai so sabh tay oochaa.
In whose heart is enshrined God’s Name, attains the highest spiritual state.
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਆ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਉੱਚੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਨਾਮ ਬਿਨਾ ਭ੍ਰਮਿ ਜੋਨੀ ਮੂਚਾ ॥੬॥
naam binaa bharam jonee moochaa. ||6||
but without the God’s Name, one keeps wandering in many incarnations. ||6||
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਜੂਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਭਟਕਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੬॥
ਜਿਸੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਰਿਦੈ ਤਿਸੁ ਪ੍ਰਗਟਿ ਪਹਾਰਾ ॥
jis naam ridai tis pargat pahaaraa.
In whose mind is enshrined the Name of God, he clearly visualilizes God pervading in the entire world
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਆ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਹਰੀ ਜਗਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਸਰਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਪ੍ਰਤੱਖ ਦਿਸ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ
ਜਿਸੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਰਿਦੈ ਤਿਸੁ ਮਿਟਿਆ ਅੰਧਾਰਾ ॥
jis naam ridai tis miti-aa anDhaaraa.
In whose heart is enshrined God’s Name, his darkness of ignorance is dispelled.
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਆ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਦਾ ਹਨੇਰਾ ਮਿਟ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਜਿਸੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਰਿਦੈ ਸੋ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਪਰਵਾਣੁ ॥
jis naam ridai so purakh parvaan.
In whose mind is enshrined God’s Name, that person is accepted in God’s presence.
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਆ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਦਰਗਾਹ ਵਿਚ) ਕਬੂਲ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਨਾਮ ਬਿਨਾ ਫਿਰਿ ਆਵਣ ਜਾਣੁ ॥੭॥
naam binaa fir aavan jaan. ||7||
Without meditating on God’s Name, one keeps going through the cycle of birth and death. ||7||
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਮੁੜ ਮੁੜ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਦਾ ਗੇੜ ਬਣਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੭॥
ਤਿਨਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਿਸੁ ਭਇਓ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲ ॥
tin naam paa-i-aa jis bha-i-o kirpaal.
But he alone receives God’s Name, who is blessed by His grace,
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉੱਤੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਇਆਵਾਨ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ, ਉਸ ਨੇ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ।
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਮਹਿ ਲਖੇ ਗੋੁਪਾਲ ॥
saaDhsangat meh lakhay gopaal.
and he visualizes God in the company of saints.
ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ (ਟਿਕ ਕੇ) ਉਸ ਨੇ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਦੇ ਪਾਲਣਹਾਰ ਦਾ ਦਰਸਨ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ।
ਆਵਣ ਜਾਣ ਰਹੇ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥
aavan jaan rahay sukh paa-i-aa.
His cycle of birth and death ends and he has attained inner peace:
ਉਸ ਦੇ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਦੇ ਗੇੜ ਮੁੱਕ ਗਏ, ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ।
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਤਤੈ ਤਤੁ ਮਿਲਾਇਆ ॥੮॥੧॥੪॥
kaho naanak tatai tat milaa-i-aa. ||8||1||4||
Nanak says, such person’s soul has merged in the supreme light. ||8||1||4||
ਨਾਨਕ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ- ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੀ ਜਿੰਦ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਇੱਕ-ਮਿਕ ਹੋ ਗਈ ॥੮॥੧॥੪॥

ਕੋਟਿ ਬਿਸਨ ਕੀਨੇ ਅਵਤਾਰ ॥
kot bisan keenay avtaar.
God has created millions of incarnations of Vishnu.
(ਉਹ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਐਸਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਨੇ) ਕ੍ਰੋੜਾਂ ਹੀ ਵਿਸ਼ਨੂ-ਅਵਤਾਰ ਬਣਾਏ,
ਕੋਟਿ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੰਡ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਧ੍ਰਮਸਾਲ ॥
kot barahmand jaa kay Dharamsaal.
He created millions of places in the universe to practice righteousness.
ਕ੍ਰੋੜਾਂ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੰਡ ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਧਰਮ-ਅਸਥਾਨ ਹਨ,
ਕੋਟਿ ਮਹੇਸ ਉਪਾਇ ਸਮਾਏ ॥
kot mahays upaa-ay samaa-ay.
He has created and destroyed millions of Shivas,
ਜਿਹੜਾ ਕ੍ਰੋੜਾਂ ਸ਼ਿਵ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ (ਆਪਣੇ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ) ਲੀਨ ਕਰ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਕੋਟਿ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੇ ਜਗੁ ਸਾਜਣ ਲਾਏ ॥੧॥
kot barahmay jag saajan laa-ay. ||1||
and has engaged millions of Brahmas in creating the worlds. ||1||
ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਕ੍ਰੋੜਾਂ ਹੀ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੇ ਜਗਤ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਦੇ ਕੰਮ ਤੇ ਲਾਏ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ ॥੧॥
ਐਸੋ ਧਣੀ ਗੁਵਿੰਦੁ ਹਮਾਰਾ ॥
aiso Dhanee guvind hamaaraa.
So great is our Master-God,
ਸਾਡਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਇਹੋ ਜਿਹਾ (ਬੇਅੰਤ) ਹੈ,
ਬਰਨਿ ਨ ਸਾਕਉ ਗੁਣ ਬਿਸਥਾਰਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
baran na saaka-o gun bisthaaraa. ||1|| rahaa-o.
that I cannot describe the details of His virtues. ||1||Pause||
ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਵਿਸਥਾਰ ਬਿਆਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਕੋਟਿ ਮਾਇਆ ਜਾ ਕੈ ਸੇਵਕਾਇ ॥
kot maa-i-aa jaa kai sayvkaa-ay.
Millions of Lakshmis (the goddesses of wealth) are His devotees.
(ਉਹ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਐਸਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੈ ਕਿ) ਕ੍ਰੋੜਾਂ ਹੀ ਲੱਛਮੀਆਂ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਦਾਸੀਆਂ ਹਨ,
ਕੋਟਿ ਜੀਅ ਜਾ ਕੀ ਸਿਹਜਾਇ ॥
kot jee-a jaa kee sihjaa-ay.
He resides in the hearts of millions of creatures.
ਉਹ ਲੱਖਾਂ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਦਿਲਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਕੋਟਿ ਉਪਾਰਜਨਾ ਤੇਰੈ ਅੰਗਿ ॥
kot upaarjanaa tayrai ang.
O’ God, millions of creatures are absorbed in You,
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਕ੍ਰੋੜਾਂ ਹੀ ਉਤਪੱਤੀਆਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਆਪੇ ਵਿਚ ਸਮਾ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ।
ਕੋਟਿ ਭਗਤ ਬਸਤ ਹਰਿ ਸੰਗਿ ॥੨॥
kot bhagat basat har sang. ||2||
and millions of devotees abide with You. ||2||
ਕ੍ਰੋੜਾਂ ਹੀ ਭਗਤ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਵੱਸਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੨॥
ਕੋਟਿ ਛਤ੍ਰਪਤਿ ਕਰਤ ਨਮਸਕਾਰ ॥
kot chhatarpat karat namaskaar.
Millions of great kings pay homage to God,
ਕ੍ਰੋੜਾਂ ਰਾਜੇ ਉਸ ਅੱਗੇ ਸਿਰ ਨਿਵਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ,
ਕੋਟਿ ਇੰਦ੍ਰ ਠਾਢੇ ਹੈ ਦੁਆਰ ॥
kot indar thaadhay hai du-aar.
and millions of lord Indras stand in His presence,
ਕ੍ਰੋੜਾਂ ਇੰਦ੍ਰ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਦਰ ਤੇ ਖੜੇ ਹਨ,
ਕੋਟਿ ਬੈਕੁੰਠ ਜਾ ਕੀ ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟੀ ਮਾਹਿ ॥
kot baikunth jaa kee daristee maahi.
Millions of heavenly paradises are within His gracious glance.
ਕ੍ਰੋੜਾਂ ਹੀ ਬੈਕੁੰਠ ਉਸ ਦੀ (ਮਿਹਰ ਦੀ) ਨਿਗਾਹ ਵਿਚ ਹਨ,
ਕੋਟਿ ਨਾਮ ਜਾ ਕੀ ਕੀਮਤਿ ਨਾਹਿ ॥੩॥
kot naam jaa kee keemat naahi. ||3||
God has millions of Names due to His virtues and His worth can not be described. ||3||
ਉਸ ਦੇ ਕ੍ਰੋੜਾਂ ਹੀ ਨਾਮ ਹਨ, (ਉਹ ਐਸਾ ਹੈ) ਕਿ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਮੁੱਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੈ ਸਕਦਾ ॥੩॥
ਕੋਟਿ ਪੂਰੀਅਤ ਹੈ ਜਾ ਕੈ ਨਾਦ ॥
kot pooree-at hai jaa kai naad.
Millions of melodious tunes are being played at His abode,
ਉਸ ਦੇ ਦਰ ਤੇ ਕ੍ਰੋੜਾਂ (ਸੰਖ ਆਦਿਕ) ਨਾਦ ਪੂਰੇ (ਵਜਾਏ) ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ,
ਕੋਟਿ ਅਖਾਰੇ ਚਲਿਤ ਬਿਸਮਾਦ ॥
kot akhaaray chalit bismaad.
and millions of wonderful plays are being played on His worldly stage.
ਉਸ ਦੇ ਕ੍ਰੋੜਾਂ ਹੀ ਜਗਤ-ਅਖਾੜੇ ਹਨ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਰਚੇ ਕੌਤਕ-ਤਮਾਸ਼ੇ ਹੈਰਾਨ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਹਨ।
ਕੋਟਿ ਸਕਤਿ ਸਿਵ ਆਗਿਆਕਾਰ ॥
kot sakat siv aagi-aakaar.
Millions of lord Shivas and goddess Laxmi are His obedient servants,
ਕ੍ਰੋੜਾਂ ਸ਼ਿਵ ਤੇ ਕ੍ਰੋੜਾਂ ਸ਼ਕਤੀਆਂ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਹੁਕਮ ਵਿਚ ਤੁਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਹਨ।
ਕੋਟਿ ਜੀਅ ਦੇਵੈ ਆਧਾਰ ॥੪॥
kot jee-a dayvai aaDhaar. ||4||
and He provides sustenance to myriads of creatures. ||4||
ਉਹ ਮਾਲਕ ਕ੍ਰੋੜਾਂ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਸਰਾ ਦੇ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ॥੪॥
ਕੋਟਿ ਤੀਰਥ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਚਰਨ ਮਝਾਰ ॥
kot tirath jaa kay charan majhaar.
Meditating on His Name is like bathing at millions of sacred shrines of pilgrimage
ਕ੍ਰੋੜਾਂ ਹੀ ਤੀਰਥ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਹਨ (ਉਸ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜੇ ਰਹਿਣਾ ਹੀ ਕ੍ਰੋੜਾਂ ਤੀਰਥਾਂ ਦੇ ਇਸ਼ਨਾਨ ਬਰਾਬਰ ਹੈ),
ਕੋਟਿ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਜਪਤ ਨਾਮ ਚਾਰ ॥
kot pavitar japat naam chaar.
Meditating on whose beautiful Name, millions of people attain righteous living.
ਕ੍ਰੋੜਾਂ ਹੀ ਜੀਵ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਸੋਹਣਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਦਿਆਂ ਸੁੱਚੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਕੋਟਿ ਪੂਜਾਰੀ ਕਰਤੇ ਪੂਜਾ ॥
kot poojaaree kartay poojaa.
Millions of worshippers worship Him.
ਕ੍ਰੋੜਾਂ ਪੁਜਾਰੀ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਪੂਜਾ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ।
ਕੋਟਿ ਬਿਸਥਾਰਨੁ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਦੂਜਾ ॥੫॥
kot bisthaaran avar na doojaa. ||5||
Millions of creatures are in His expanses and there is none other like Him. ||5||
ਉਸ ਮਾਲਕ ਨੇ ਕ੍ਰੋੜਾਂ ਹੀ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦਾ ਖਿਲਾਰਾ ਖਿਲਾਰਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ, (ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ) ਕੋਈ ਹੋਰ ਦੂਜਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ ॥੫॥
ਕੋਟਿ ਮਹਿਮਾ ਜਾ ਕੀ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਹੰਸ ॥
kot mahimaa jaa kee nirmal hans.
Millions of swan like immaculate people are singing His praises,
(ਉਹ ਸਾਡਾ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਐਸਾ ਹੈ) ਕਿ ਕ੍ਰੋੜਾਂ ਹੀ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਜੀਵ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਮਹਿਮਾ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ,
ਕੋਟਿ ਉਸਤਤਿ ਜਾ ਕੀ ਕਰਤ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੰਸ ॥
kot ustat jaa kee karat barahmans.
and His praises are being sung by millions of descendants of Brahma.
ਸਨਕ ਆਦਿਕ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਦੇ ਕ੍ਰੋੜਾਂ ਹੀ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਉਸਤਤਿ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ,
ਕੋਟਿ ਪਰਲਉ ਓਪਤਿ ਨਿਮਖ ਮਾਹਿ ॥
kot parla-o opat nimakh maahi.
He can create and destroy millions in an instant.
ਉਹ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਅੱਖ ਦੇ ਇਕ ਫੋਰ ਵਿਚ ਕ੍ਰੋੜਾਂ (ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੀ) ਉਤਪੱਤੀ ਤੇ ਨਾਸ (ਕਰਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ) ਹੈ।
ਕੋਟਿ ਗੁਣਾ ਤੇਰੇ ਗਣੇ ਨ ਜਾਹਿ ॥੬॥
kot gunaa tayray ganay na jaahi. ||6||
O’ God, You have millions of virtues which cannot be counted. ||6||
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੇਰੇ ਕ੍ਰੋੜਾਂ ਹੀ ਗੁਣ ਹਨ, (ਅਸਾਂ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਪਾਸੋਂ) ਗਿਣੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੇ ॥੬॥
ਕੋਟਿ ਗਿਆਨੀ ਕਥਹਿ ਗਿਆਨੁ ॥
kot gi-aanee katheh gi-aan.
Millions of spiritually wise scholars keep expressing His virtues,
ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੀ ਸੂਝ ਵਾਲੇ ਕ੍ਰੋੜਾਂ ਹੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਬਿਆਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ,
ਕੋਟਿ ਧਿਆਨੀ ਧਰਤ ਧਿਆਨੁ ॥
kot Dhi-aanee Dharat Dhi-aan.
millions of contemplators keep contemplating on Him,
ਸਮਾਧੀਆਂ ਲਾਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਕ੍ਰੋੜਾਂ ਹੀ ਸਾਧੂ (ਉਸ ਵਿਚ) ਸੁਰਤ ਜੋੜੀ ਰੱਖਦੇ ਹਨ,
ਕੋਟਿ ਤਪੀਸਰ ਤਪ ਹੀ ਕਰਤੇ ॥
kot tapeesar tap hee kartay.
millions of ascetics keep performing asceticism,
(ਉਸ ਦਾ ਦਰਸਨ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ) ਕ੍ਰੋੜਾਂ ਹੀ ਵੱਡੇ ਵੱਡੇ ਤਪੀ ਤਪ ਕਰਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ,
