ਮਧੁਸੂਦਨੁ ਜਪੀਐ ਉਰ ਧਾਰਿ ॥
maDhusoodan japee-ai ur Dhaar.
(O’ my friends), we should enshrine God, the slayer of demons, in our heart and remember Him with loving devotion.
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ ਦੈਂਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਾਸ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਵਸਾ ਕੇ ਜਪਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਦੇਹੀ ਨਗਰਿ ਤਸਕਰ ਪੰਚ ਧਾਤੂ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦੀ ਹਰਿ ਕਾਢੇ ਮਾਰਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
dayhee nagar taskar panch Dhaatoo gur sabdee har kaadhay maar. ||1|| rahaa-o.
One who remembers God through the Guru’s divine word, drives out the five thieves (lust, anger, greed, attachment, and ego), who abide in his body and rob his virtues. ||1||Pause||
ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਦਾ ਹੈ) ਉਹ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਰੀਰ-ਨਗਰ ਵਿਚ ਵੱਸ ਰਹੇ ਪੰਜਾਂ ਚੋਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਕੇ ਬਾਹਰ ਕੱਢ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਜਿਨ ਕਾ ਹਰਿ ਸੇਤੀ ਮਨੁ ਮਾਨਿਆ ਤਿਨ ਕਾਰਜ ਹਰਿ ਆਪਿ ਸਵਾਰਿ ॥
jin kaa har saytee man maani-aa tin kaaraj har aap savaar.
God Himself resolves all the affairs of those whose mind is appeased with God.
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਲ ਪਤੀਜ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ , ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਕੰਮ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆਪ ਸਵਾਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਤਿਨ ਚੂਕੀ ਮੁਹਤਾਜੀ ਲੋਕਨ ਕੀ ਹਰਿ ਅੰਗੀਕਾਰੁ ਕੀਆ ਕਰਤਾਰਿ ॥੨॥
tin chookee muhtaajee lokan kee har angeekaar kee-aa kartaar. ||2||
Their dependence on other people is ended, because the Creator God has accepted them. ||2||
ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਮੁਥਾਜੀ ਮੁੱਕ ਗਈ ਹੈ ਕਿਉਂਕੇ ਕਰਤਾਰ ਨੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਪਣਾ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਮਤਾ ਮਸੂਰਤਿ ਤਾਂ ਕਿਛੁ ਕੀਜੈ ਜੇ ਕਿਛੁ ਹੋਵੈ ਹਰਿ ਬਾਹਰਿ ॥
mataa masoorat taaN kichh keejai jay kichh hovai har baahar.
We would need to consult with others only if anything were to happen beyond the will of God.
ਕਿਸੇ ਨਾਲ ਮਸ਼ਵਰਾ ਤਦੋਂ ਹੀ ਕਰੀਏ ਜੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਹਰਾ ਕੋਈ ਕੰਮ ਹੋ ਹੀ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੋਵੇ।
ਜੋ ਕਿਛੁ ਕਰੇ ਸੋਈ ਭਲ ਹੋਸੀ ਹਰਿ ਧਿਆਵਹੁ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਮੁਰਾਰਿ ॥੩॥
jo kichh karai so-ee bhal hosee har Dhi-aavahu an-din naam muraar. ||3||
O’ brother, always keep remembering God with adoration, because whatever God does is good for us. ||3||
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ) ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਦੇ ਰਿਹਾ ਕਰੋ ਕਿਉਂਕੇ ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਸਾਡੇ ਭਲੇ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਹੀ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਹਰਿ ਜੋ ਕਿਛੁ ਕਰੇ ਸੁ ਆਪੇ ਆਪੇ ਓਹੁ ਪੂਛਿ ਨ ਕਿਸੈ ਕਰੇ ਬੀਚਾਰਿ ॥
har jo kichh karay so aapay aapay oh poochh na kisai karay beechaar.
Whatever God does, He does by Himself and does not ask or consult anyone.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਕਿਸੇ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਪੁੱਛ ਕੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ, ਕਿਸੇ ਨਾਲ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਸੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸਦਾ ਧਿਆਈਐ ਜਿਨਿ ਮੇਲਿਆ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਧਾਰਿ ॥੪॥੧॥੫॥
naanak so parabh sadaa Dhi-aa-ee-ai jin mayli-aa satgur kirpaa Dhaar. ||4||1||5||
O’ Nanak, we should always lovingly remember God, who bestowing mercy, has united us with the true Guru. ||4||1||5||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਉਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ (ਅਸਾਨੂੰ) ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲਾਇਆ ਹੈ ॥੪॥੧॥੫॥

Raag Bhairao, Fourth Guru:
ਤੇ ਸਾਧੂ ਹਰਿ ਮੇਲਹੁ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਜਿਨ ਜਪਿਆ ਗਤਿ ਹੋਇ ਹਮਾਰੀ ॥
tay saaDhoo har maylhu su-aamee jin japi-aa gat ho-ay hamaaree.
O’ my Master-God, unite me with such saints, remembering You in whose company, I may attain a higher spiritual state.
ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! ਹੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ! ਮੈਨੂੰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਸੰਤਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਕਰਾ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕੀਤਿਆਂ ਮੇਰੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਉੱਚੀ ਬਣ ਜਾਏ।
ਤਿਨ ਕਾ ਦਰਸੁ ਦੇਖਿ ਮਨੁ ਬਿਗਸੈ ਖਿਨੁ ਖਿਨੁ ਤਿਨ ਕਉ ਹਉ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ॥੧॥
tin kaa daras daykh man bigsai khin khin tin ka-o ha-o balihaaree. ||1||
Seeing them my mind blossoms and I am dedicated to them at each and every moment. ||1||
ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਦਰਸਨ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨ ਖਿੜਦਾ ਹੈ, ਮੈਂ ਇਕ ਇਕ ਛਿਨ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਸਦਕੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ ॥੧॥
ਹਰਿ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਜਪਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਮੁਰਾਰੀ ॥
har hirdai jap naam muraaree.
O’ God, bless me that I may lovingly remember Your Name in my heart.
ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! (ਮੇਰੇ ਉਤੇ ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰ) ਮੈਂ (ਸਦਾ) ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਦਾ ਰਹਾਂ।
ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰਿ ਜਗਤ ਪਿਤ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਹਮ ਦਾਸਨਿ ਦਾਸ ਕੀਜੈ ਪਨਿਹਾਰੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
kirpaa kirpaa kar jagat pit su-aamee ham daasan daas keejai panihaaree. ||1|| rahaa-o.
O’ Father of the universe, my Master, bestow mercy and make me the devotee of Your devotees and make me their humble servant. ||1||Pause||
ਹੇ ਜਗਤ ਦੇ ਪਿਤਾ! ਹੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ! (ਮੇਰੇ ਉਤੇ) ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰ, ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰ, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਦਾਸਾਂ ਦਾ ਦਾਸ ਬਣਾ ਲੈ, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਦਾਸਾਂ ਦਾ ਪਾਣੀ ਢੋਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਸੇਵਕ ਬਣਾ ਲੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਤਿਨ ਮਤਿ ਊਤਮ ਤਿਨ ਪਤਿ ਊਤਮ ਜਿਨ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਵਸਿਆ ਬਨਵਾਰੀ ॥
tin mat ootam tin pat ootam jin hirdai vasi-aa banvaaree.
Those in whose heart is enshrined God, their intellect is sublime and their honor is also sublime.
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਮੱਤ ਸ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਟ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਵੀ ਸ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਟ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਤਿਨ ਕੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਲਾਇ ਹਰਿ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਤਿਨ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਗਤਿ ਹੋਇ ਹਮਾਰੀ ॥੨॥
tin kee sayvaa laa-ay har su-aamee tin simrat gat ho-ay hamaaree. ||2||
O’ my Master-God, unite me to the service of those, by remembering You in whose company, my spiritual state may also become sublime. ||2||
ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! ਹੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ! ਮੈਨੂੰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਵਿਚ ਲਾਈ ਰੱਖ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਤੇਰਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕੀਤਿਆਂ ਮੇਰੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਉੱਚੀ ਬਣ ਜਾਏ ॥੨॥
ਜਿਨ ਐਸਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸਾਧੁ ਨ ਪਾਇਆ ਤੇ ਹਰਿ ਦਰਗਹ ਕਾਢੇ ਮਾਰੀ ॥
jin aisaa satgur saaDh na paa-i-aa tay har dargeh kaadhay maaree.
Those who have not been blessed with the teachings of such a true saint Guru, are dishonored in God’s presence as if they are driven out from there.
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਸਾਧੂ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲਿਆ, ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਹਜ਼ੂਰੀ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਧੱਕੇ ਮਾਰ ਕੇ ਕੱਢੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਤੇ ਨਰ ਨਿੰਦਕ ਸੋਭ ਨ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਤਿਨ ਨਕ ਕਾਟੇ ਸਿਰਜਨਹਾਰੀ ॥੩॥
tay nar nindak sobh na paavahi tin nak kaatay sirjanhaaree. ||3||
These slanderous people do not achieve any honor or reputation; they are disgraced as if their noses were cut off by the Creator. ||3||
ਇਹ ਨਿੰਦਕ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਕਿਤੇ ਭੀ) ਸੋਭਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾਂਦੇ। ਸਿਰਜਨਹਾਰ ਨੇ (ਆਪ) ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਨੱਕ ਕੱਟ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਹਰਿ ਆਪਿ ਬੁਲਾਵੈ ਆਪੇ ਬੋਲੈ ਹਰਿ ਆਪਿ ਨਿਰੰਜਨੁ ਨਿਰੰਕਾਰੁ ਨਿਰਾਹਾਰੀ ॥
har aap bulaavai aapay bolai har aap niranjan nirankaar niraahaaree.
God Himself speaks through all the human beings, and Himself inspires all to speak; He is immaculate, formless, and needs no sustenance.
ਜਿਹੜਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵ ਤੋਂ ਪਰੇ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਖ਼ਾਸ ਸਰੂਪ ਨਹੀਂ , ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ (ਜੀਵਾਂ ਵਾਂਗ) ਕਿਸੇ ਖ਼ੁਰਾਕ ਦੀ ਲੋੜ ਨਹੀਂ, ਉਹ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ (ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਬੋਲਣ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਨਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਬੈਠਾ) ਬੋਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਹਰਿ ਜਿਸੁ ਤੂ ਮੇਲਹਿ ਸੋ ਤੁਧੁ ਮਿਲਸੀ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਕਿਆ ਏਹਿ ਜੰਤ ਵਿਚਾਰੀ ॥੪॥੨॥੬॥
har jis too mayleh so tuDh milsee jan naanak ki-aa ayhi jant vichaaree. ||4||2||6||
O’ God, only that person unites with You, whom You unites with Yourself: O’ devotee Nanak, nothing is under the control of these poor beings. ||4||2||6|
ਹੇ ਹਹੀ! ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾਂਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਉਹੀ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਇਹਨਾਂ ਨਿਮਾਣੇ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਵੱਸ ਕੁਝ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ ॥੪॥੨॥੬॥

Raag Bhairao, Fourth Guru:
ਸਤਸੰਗਤਿ ਸਾਈ ਹਰਿ ਤੇਰੀ ਜਿਤੁ ਹਰਿ ਕੀਰਤਿ ਹਰਿ ਸੁਨਣੇ ॥
satsangat saa-ee har tayree jit har keerat har sunnay.
O’ God, only that congregation where the singing of Your praises are heard, can be called Your true congregation.
ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! (ਉਹੀ ਇਕੱਠ) ਤੇਰੀ ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤ (ਅਖਵਾ ਸਕਦਾ) ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਵਿਚ, ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! ਤੇਰੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਸੁਣੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਜਿਨ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਸੁਣਿਆ ਮਨੁ ਭੀਨਾ ਤਿਨ ਹਮ ਸ੍ਰੇਵਹ ਨਿਤ ਚਰਣੇ ॥੧॥
jin har naam suni-aa man bheenaa tin ham sarayveh nit charnay. ||1||
Those people who have heard God’s Name, their mind became imbued with God’s love; I would always like to humbly serve them. ||1||
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸੁਣਿਆ ਹੈ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਪਿਆਰ ਵਿਚ ਭਿੱਜ ਗਿਆ, ਮੈਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਨੀ ਆਪਣੀ ਸੁਭਾਗਤਾ ਸਮਝਦਾ ਹਾਂ ॥੧॥
ਜਗਜੀਵਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਧਿਆਇ ਤਰਣੇ ॥
jagjeevan har Dhi-aa-ay tarnay.
We cross over the world-ocean of vices by lovingly remembering God, the life of the world.
ਜਗਤ ਦੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਹਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਮਰ ਕੇ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘ ਜਾਈਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਅਨੇਕ ਅਸੰਖ ਨਾਮ ਹਰਿ ਤੇਰੇ ਨ ਜਾਹੀ ਜਿਹਵਾ ਇਤੁ ਗਨਣੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
anayk asaNkh naam har tayray na jaahee jihvaa it gannay. ||1|| rahaa-o.
O’ God, innumerable are Your names; this tongue of mine cannot even count them. ||1||Pause||
ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! (ਤੇਰੀਆਂ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਣੇ ਹੋਏ) ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਮ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਹਨ ਅਣਗਿਣਤ ਹਨ, ਇਸ ਜੀਭ ਨਾਲ ਗਿਣੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਗੁਰਸਿਖ ਹਰਿ ਬੋਲਹੁ ਹਰਿ ਗਾਵਹੁ ਲੇ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਹਰਿ ਜਪਣੇ ॥
gursikh har bolhu har gaavhu lay gurmat har japnay.
O’ the Guru’s disciples, recite God’s Name and sing God’s praises and lovingly remember God by following the Guru’s teachings.
ਹੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸਿੱਖੋ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਉਚਾਰਿਆ ਕਰੋ, ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਗਾਵਿਆ ਕਰੋ, ਹਰੀ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਿਆ ਕਰੋ।
ਜੋ ਉਪਦੇਸੁ ਸੁਣੇ ਗੁਰ ਕੇਰਾ ਸੋ ਜਨੁ ਪਾਵੈ ਹਰਿ ਸੁਖ ਘਣੇ ॥੨॥
jo updays sunay gur kayraa so jan paavai har sukh ghanay. ||2||
One who listens and follows the Guru’s teachings, God blesses him with lots of comforts and inner peace. ||2||
ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ (ਸਰਧਾ ਨਾਲ) ਸੁਣਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਹਰੀ ਦੇ ਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਸੁਖ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਧੰਨੁ ਸੁ ਵੰਸੁ ਧੰਨੁ ਸੁ ਪਿਤਾ ਧੰਨੁ ਸੁ ਮਾਤਾ ਜਿਨਿ ਜਨ ਜਣੇ ॥
Dhan so vans Dhan so pitaa Dhan so maataa jin jan janay.
Blessed is the ancestry, blessed is the father, and that mother who gave birth to the humble devotees.
ਭਾਗਾਂ ਵਾਲੀ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਕੁਲ, ਧੰਨ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਪਿਉ ਤੇ ਧੰਨ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਮਾਂ ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਭਗਤ-ਜਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਨਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
ਜਿਨ ਸਾਸਿ ਗਿਰਾਸਿ ਧਿਆਇਆ ਮੇਰਾ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਸੇ ਸਾਚੀ ਦਰਗਹ ਹਰਿ ਜਨ ਬਣੇ ॥੩॥
jin saas giraas Dhi-aa-i-aa mayraa har har say saachee dargeh har jan banay. ||3||
Those who have remembered my God with every breath and morsel, became worthy of honor and glory in God’s presence. ||3|
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਰੇਕ ਸਾਹ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਆਪਣੀ ਹਰੇਕ ਗਿਰਾਹੀ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਿਆ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਦਰਗਾਹ ਵਿਚ ਸੋਭਾ ਵਾਲੇ ਬਣ ਗਏ ॥੩॥
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਅਗਮ ਨਾਮ ਹਰਿ ਤੇਰੇ ਵਿਚਿ ਭਗਤਾ ਹਰਿ ਧਰਣੇ ॥
har har agam naam har tayray vich bhagtaa har Dharnay.
O’ God, (because of Your limitless virtues), infinite are Your Names and You have enshrined these virtues in Your devotees also.
ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! (ਤੇਰੇ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ) ਤੇਰੇ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਹੀ ਨਾਮ ਹਨ, ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਉਹ ਨਾਮ ਆਪਣੇ ਭਗਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕਾਏ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਜਨਿ ਪਾਇਆ ਮਤਿ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਜਪਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਰਿ ਪਵਣੇ ॥੪॥੩॥੭॥
naanak jan paa-i-aa mat gurmat jap har har paar pavnay. ||4||3||7||
O’ Nanak, those devotees who have realized God by following the Guru’s teachings, they cross over the world-ocean of vices by remembering God with adoration. ||4||3||7||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜਿਸ ਜਿਸ ਸੇਵਕ ਨੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਮੱਤ ਉਤੇ ਤੁਰ ਕੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਸਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪ ਕੇ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੪॥੩॥੭॥
