ਜਿਸੁ ਨਾਮੈ ਕਉ ਤਰਸਹਿ ਬਹੁ ਦੇਵਾ ॥
jis naamai ka-o tarseh baho dayvaa.
God’s Name, for which many angels crave,
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਦੇਵਤੇ ਤਰਸਦੇ ਹਨ,
ਸਗਲ ਭਗਤ ਜਾ ਕੀ ਕਰਦੇ ਸੇਵਾ ॥
sagal bhagat jaa kee karday sayvaa.
all the devotees perform whose devotional worship,
ਸਾਰੇ ਹੀ ਭਗਤ ਜਿਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ-ਭਗਤੀ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ,
ਅਨਾਥਾ ਨਾਥੁ ਦੀਨ ਦੁਖ ਭੰਜਨੁ ਸੋ ਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੇ ਤੇ ਪਾਇਣਾ ॥੩॥
anaathaa naath deen dukh bhanjan so gur pooray tay paa-inaa. ||3||
and who is the support of the supportless and destroyer of sufferings of the meek, that God’s Name is received only from the perfect Guru.||3||
ਜਿਹੜਾ ਨਿਖਸਮਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਖਸਮ ਹੈ, ਜਿਹੜਾ ਗ਼ਰੀਬਾਂ ਦੇ ਦੁੱਖ ਨਾਸ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਹੋਰੁ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਕੋਇ ਨ ਸੂਝੈ ॥
hor du-aaraa ko-ay na soojhai.
No other place or person comes to mind (from where Naam can be received).
ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਦਰ (ਐਸਾ) ਨਹੀਂ ਸੁੱਝਦਾ (ਜਿਥੋਂ ਨਾਮ-ਰਤਨ ਮਿਲ ਸਕੇ)।
ਤ੍ਰਿਭਵਣ ਧਾਵੈ ਤਾ ਕਿਛੂ ਨ ਬੂਝੈ ॥
taribhavan Dhaavai taa kichhoo na boojhai.
Even if one searches for it in all the three worlds, one cannot understand anything about Naam.
ਜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਤਿੰਨਾਂ ਭਵਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਦੌੜ-ਭੱਜ ਕਰਦਾ ਫਿਰੇ ਤਾਂ ਭੀ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਨਾਮ-ਰਤਨ ਦੀ ਕੋਈ ਸਮਝ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੈ ਸਕਦੀ।
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸਾਹੁ ਭੰਡਾਰੁ ਨਾਮ ਜਿਸੁ ਇਹੁ ਰਤਨੁ ਤਿਸੈ ਤੇ ਪਾਇਣਾ ॥੪॥
satgur saahu bhandaar naam jis ih ratan tisai tay paa-inaa. ||4||
The true Guru alone is has the treasure of Naam, from whom this jewel like precious Naam can be received. ||4||
ਇਕ ਗੁਰੂ ਹੀ ਐਸਾ ਸ਼ਾਹ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਪਾਸ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਗੁਰੂ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਨਾਮ-ਰਤਨ ਮਿਲ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੪॥
ਜਾ ਕੀ ਧੂਰਿ ਕਰੇ ਪੁਨੀਤਾ ॥
jaa kee Dhoor karay puneetaa.
The devotional service of God performed with utmost humility purifies the mind of a person:
ਜਿਸ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ) ਦੀ ਚਰਨ-ਧੂੜ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਕਰ ਦੇਂਦੀ ਹੈ,
ਸੁਰਿ ਨਰ ਦੇਵ ਨ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਮੀਤਾ ॥
sur nar dayv na paavahi meetaa.
O’ my friend, even the saintly persons and the angels cannot realize Him.
ਹੇ ਮਿੱਤਰ! ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਉੱਤਮ ਪੁਰਸ਼ ਅਤੇ ਦੇਵਤੇ ਭੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਸਕਦੇ।
ਸਤਿ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪਰਮੇਸਰੁ ਜਿਸੁ ਭੇਟਤ ਪਾਰਿ ਪਰਾਇਣਾ ॥੫॥
sat purakh satgur parmaysar jis bhaytat paar paraa-inaa. ||5||
The world-ocean of vices can be crossed over by following the teachings of the true Guru who is embodiment of the all-pervading eternal supreme God. ||5||
ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਹਰੀ-ਰੂਪ ਗੁਰੂ ਪੁਰਖ ਹੀ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਿਆਂ (ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ) ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘ ਸਕੀਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੫॥
ਪਾਰਜਾਤੁ ਲੋੜਹਿ ਮਨ ਪਿਆਰੇ ॥
paarjaat lorheh man pi-aaray.
O’ my dear mind, if you wish to have Paarjaat (wish fulfilling mythical tree),
ਹੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਮਨ! ਜੇ ਤੂੰ ਪਾਰਜਾਤ ਰੁੱਖ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈਂ,
ਕਾਮਧੇਨੁ ਸੋਹੀ ਦਰਬਾਰੇ ॥
kaamDhayn sohee darbaaray.
and want Kaamdhain, the wish fulfilling mythical cow, to adorn your house,
ਜੇ ਤੂੰ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈਂ ਕਿ ਕਾਮਧੇਨ ਤੇਰੇ ਬੂਹੇ ਉਤੇ ਸੋਭ ਰਹੀ ਹੋਵੇ,
ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਿ ਸੰਤੋਖੁ ਸੇਵਾ ਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੇ ਨਾਮੁ ਕਮਾਇ ਰਸਾਇਣਾ ॥੬॥
taripat santokh sayvaa gur pooray naam kamaa-ay rasaa-inaa. ||6||
then follow the perfect Guru’s teachings and receive satiation and contentment; remember God and earn the wealth of Naam, the source of all nectars. ||6||
ਤਾਂ ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪਿਆ ਰਹੁ, ਗੁਰੂ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਪੂਰਨ ਸੰਤੋਖ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ, ਨਾਮ-ਸਿਮਰਨ ਦੀ ਕਮਾਈ ਕਰ, ਜੋ ਸਾਰੇ ਰਸਾਂ ਦਾ ਸੋਮਾ ਹੈ ॥੬॥
ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਮਰਹਿ ਪੰਚ ਧਾਤੂ ॥
gur kai sabad mareh panch Dhaatoo.
O’ brother, through the Guru’s word, the five evil impulses (lust, anger, greed, attachment, and ego) are destroyed,
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਕਾਮਾਦਿਕ ਪੰਜੇ ਵਿਸ਼ੇ ਮਰ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ,
ਭੈ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਹੋਵਹਿ ਨਿਰਮਲਾ ਤੂ ॥
bhai paarbarahm hoveh nirmalaa too.
enshrine the revered fear of God in your mind and you will become immaculate.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਡਰ-ਅਦਬ ਵਿਚ ਰਹਿ ਕੇ ਤੂੰ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਇਂਗਾ।
ਪਾਰਸੁ ਜਬ ਭੇਟੈ ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰਾ ਤਾ ਪਾਰਸੁ ਪਰਸਿ ਦਿਖਾਇਣਾ ॥੭॥
paaras jab bhaytai gur pooraa taa paaras paras dikhaa-inaa. ||7||
When a person meets the perfect Guru who is like a mythical Philosopher’s Stone, then that person experiences God by following the Guru’s teachings. ||7||
ਜਦੋਂ ਪੂਰਾ ਗੁਰੂ-ਪਾਰਸ ਮਿਲ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਪਾਰਸ ਨੂੰ ਛੁਹਿਆਂ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਹਰ ਥਾਂ) ਦਿੱਸ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੭॥
ਕਈ ਬੈਕੁੰਠ ਨਾਹੀ ਲਵੈ ਲਾਗੇ ॥
ka-ee baikunth naahee lavai laagay.
Even myriads of heavens do not equal the merits of the Guru’s blessed vision.
ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਬੈਕੁੰਠ (ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਦਰਸਨ ਦੀ) ਬਰਾਬਰੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਸਕਦੇ।
ਮੁਕਤਿ ਬਪੁੜੀ ਭੀ ਗਿਆਨੀ ਤਿਆਗੇ ॥
mukat bapurhee bhee gi-aanee ti-aagay.
A spiritually wise person forsakes even salvation considering it of little value.
ਗਿਆਨੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਵਿਚਾਰੀ ਕਲਿਆਣ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਾਹਿਸ਼ ਨੂੰ ਭੀ, ਛੱਡ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਏਕੰਕਾਰੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਪਾਈਐ ਹਉ ਬਲਿ ਬਲਿ ਗੁਰ ਦਰਸਾਇਣਾ ॥੮॥
aykankaar satgur tay paa-ee-ai ha-o bal bal gur darsaa-inaa. ||8||
The eternal God is realized only through the true Guru; therefore, I am totally dedicated to the Guru’s blessed vision. ||8||
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਹੀ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਮੈਂ ਤਾਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਦਰਸਨ ਤੋਂ ਸਦਾ ਸਦਕੇ ਹਾਂ ਸਦਾ ਸਦਕੇ ਹਾਂ ॥੮॥
ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਸੇਵ ਨ ਜਾਣੈ ਕੋਈ ॥
gur kee sayv na jaanai ko-ee.
Nobody, except the one who follows the Guru’s teachings, knows its worth.
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈਣ ਦਾ ਕੀਹ ਮਹਾਤਮ ਹੈ -ਇਹ ਭੇਤ ਕੋਈ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਮਝ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ (ਸਰਨ ਪਿਆਂ ਹੀ ਸਮਝ ਪੈਂਦੀ ਹੈ)।
ਗੁਰੁ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਅਗੋਚਰੁ ਸੋਈ ॥
gur paarbarahm agochar so-ee.
The Guru himself is the embodiment of the incomprehensible supreme God.
ਗੁਰੂ ਹੀ ਪਰਮ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਗਿਆਨ-ਇੰਦ੍ਰਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਤੋਂ ਪਰੇ ਹੈ।
ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਲਾਇ ਲਏ ਸੋ ਸੇਵਕੁ ਜਿਸੁ ਵਡਭਾਗ ਮਥਾਇਣਾ ॥੯॥
jis no laa-ay la-ay so sayvak jis vadbhaag mathaa-inaa. ||9||
One in whose destiny it is so written and whom God unites with the Guru, becomes the Guru’s devotee and follows his teachings. ||9||
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਮੱਥੇ ਦੇ ਭਾਗ ਜਾਗ ਪੈਣ, ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆਪ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਚਰਨੀਂ) ਲਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਸੇਵਕ ਬਣਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੯॥
ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਮਹਿਮਾ ਬੇਦ ਨ ਜਾਣਹਿ ॥
gur kee mahimaa bayd na jaaneh.
Even (people who read) the Vedas do not know the glory of the Guru,
ਵੇਦ ਭੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦੇ,
ਤੁਛ ਮਾਤ ਸੁਣਿ ਸੁਣਿ ਵਖਾਣਹਿ ॥
tuchh maat sun sun vakaaneh.
They described only a little bit of Guru’s glory by hearing from others.
ਉਹ (ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਪਾਸੋਂ) ਸੁਣ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਰਤਾ-ਮਾਤ੍ਰ ਹੀ ਬਿਆਨ ਕਰ ਸਕੇ ਹਨ।
ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਅਪਰੰਪਰ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਜਿਸੁ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਮਨੁ ਸੀਤਲਾਇਣਾ ॥੧੦॥
paarbarahm aprampar satgur jis simrat man seetlaa-inaa. ||10||
The true Guru is the embodiment of the supreme and infinite God, following whose teaching, one’s mind becomes serene. ||10||
ਗੁਰੂ ਉਹ ਪਰਮ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਰੂਪ ਹੀ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਪਰੇ ਤੋਂ ਪਰੇ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਦਿਆਂ ਮਨ ਸੀਤਲ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧੦॥
ਜਾ ਕੀ ਸੋਇ ਸੁਣੀ ਮਨੁ ਜੀਵੈ ॥
jaa kee so-ay sunee man jeevai.
By listening to whose glory the mind becomes spiritually rejuvenated,
ਜਿਸ (ਗੁਰੂ) ਦੀ ਸੋਭਾ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਮਨ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਰਿਦੈ ਵਸੈ ਤਾ ਠੰਢਾ ਥੀਵੈ ॥
ridai vasai taa thandhaa theevai.
if that Guru’s teaching is enshrined in the heart, then he becomes tranquil.
ਜੇ ਗੁਰੂ (ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ) ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਆ ਵੱਸੇ, ਤਾਂ ਹਿਰਦਾ ਸ਼ਾਂਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਗੁਰੁ ਮੁਖਹੁ ਅਲਾਏ ਤਾ ਸੋਭਾ ਪਾਏ ਤਿਸੁ ਜਮ ਕੈ ਪੰਥਿ ਨ ਪਾਇਣਾ ॥੧੧॥
gur mukhahu alaa-ay taa sobhaa paa-ay tis jam kai panth na paa-inaa. ||11||
If one follows the Guru’s teachings and utters God’s Name, he receives honor both here and hereafter; the Guru does not let him be afraid of death. ||11||
ਜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਰਸਤੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਤੁਰ ਕੇ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰੇ, ਤਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਲੋਕ ਪਰਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ) ਸੋਭਾ ਖੱਟਦਾ ਹੈ, ਗੁਰੂ ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਜਮਰਾਜ ਦੇ ਰਸਤੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੈਣ ਦੇਂਦਾ ॥੧੧॥
ਸੰਤਨ ਕੀ ਸਰਣਾਈ ਪੜਿਆ ॥
santan kee sarnaa-ee parhi-aa.
O’ God, I have also sought the refuge of Your saints,
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੈਂ ਭੀ ਤੇਰੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਆ ਪਿਆ ਹਾਂ,
ਜੀਉ ਪ੍ਰਾਣ ਧਨੁ ਆਗੈ ਧਰਿਆ ॥
jee-o paraan Dhan aagai Dhari-aa.
and I have surrendered my life, breath, and wealth before the saints.
ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੀ ਜਿੰਦ ਆਪਣੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਣ ਆਪਣਾ ਧਨ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਲਿਆ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਸੇਵਾ ਸੁਰਤਿ ਨ ਜਾਣਾ ਕਾਈ ਤੁਮ ਕਰਹੁ ਦਇਆ ਕਿਰਮਾਇਣਾ ॥੧੨॥
sayvaa surat na jaanaa kaa-ee tum karahu da-i-aa kirmaa-inaa. ||12||
I do not have any knowledge or awareness about devotional worship; O’ God! bestow mercy on me, the humble being. ||12||
ਮੈਂ ਸੇਵਾ-ਭਗਤੀ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਕੋਈ ਸੂਝ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦਾ। ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੈਂ ਨਿਮਾਣੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰ ॥੧੨॥
ਨਿਰਗੁਣ ਕਉ ਸੰਗਿ ਲੇਹੁ ਰਲਾਏ ॥
nirgun ka-o sang layho ralaa-ay.
O’ God, unite me, the unvirtuous one, with the company of the Guru.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੈਨੂੰ ਗੁਣ-ਹੀਣ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਰਲਾਈ ਰੱਖ।
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਮੋਹਿ ਟਹਲੈ ਲਾਏ ॥
kar kirpaa mohi tahlai laa-ay.
Bestow mercy and engage me into following the teachings of the Guru.
ਆਪਣੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਧਾਰ ਕੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ-ਟਹਲ ਵਿਚ ਜੋੜੀ ਰੱਖ।
ਪਖਾ ਫੇਰਉ ਪੀਸਉ ਸੰਤ ਆਗੈ ਚਰਣ ਧੋਇ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਣਾ ॥੧੩॥
pakhaa fayra-o peesa-o sant aagai charan Dho-ay sukh paa-inaa. ||13||
Please bless me that I may humbly serve the holy congregation and receive the inner peace by following the Guru’s teachings. ||13||
ਮੈਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਦਰ ਤੇ ਪੱਖਾ ਝੱਲਦਾ ਰਹਾਂ, (ਚੱਕੀ) ਪੀਂਹਦਾ ਰਹਾਂ, ਤੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨ ਧੋ ਕੇ ਆਨੰਦ ਮਾਣਦਾ ਰਹਾਂ ॥੧੩॥
ਬਹੁਤੁ ਦੁਆਰੇ ਭ੍ਰਮਿ ਭ੍ਰਮਿ ਆਇਆ ॥
bahut du-aaray bharam bharam aa-i-aa.
O’ God, I have come back after wandering around at many places.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੈਂ ਦਰਵਾਜ਼ਿਆਂ ਤੇ ਭਟਕ ਭਟਕ ਕੇ ਆਇਆ ਹਾਂ।
ਤੁਮਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਤੇ ਤੁਮ ਸਰਣਾਇਆ ॥
tumree kirpaa tay tum sarnaa-i-aa.
Now by Your grace, I have come to Your refuge.
ਤੇਰੀ ਹੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ (ਹੁਣ) ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਨ ਆਇਆ ਹਾਂ।
ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਸੰਤਹ ਸੰਗਿ ਰਾਖਹੁ ਏਹੁ ਨਾਮ ਦਾਨੁ ਦੇਵਾਇਣਾ ॥੧੪॥
sadaa sadaa santeh sang raakho ayhu naam daan dayvaa-inaa. ||14||
Please keep me forever in the company of the saints, and help me get the gift of Naam from them. ||14||
ਮੈਨੂੰ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਰੱਖ, ਅਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਖ਼ੈਰ ਪਵਾ ॥੧੪॥
ਭਏ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲ ਗੁਸਾਈ ਮੇਰੇ ॥
bha-ay kirpaal gusaa-ee mayray.
When my God, the Master of universe, became merciful upon me,
ਜਦੋਂ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਇਆਵਾਨ ਹੋਇਆ,
ਦਰਸਨੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੇ ॥
darsan paa-i-aa satgur pooray.
then I had the blessed vision of the perfect true Guru.
ਤਾਂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਦਰਸਨ ਹੋਇਆ।
ਸੂਖ ਸਹਜ ਸਦਾ ਆਨੰਦਾ ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾਸ ਦਸਾਇਣਾ ॥੧੫॥੨॥੭॥

ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਹੁਣ ਮੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਸਦਾ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਤੇ ਸੁਖ-ਆਨੰਦ ਬਣੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਦਾਸਾਂ ਦਾ ਦਾਸ ਬਣਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ॥੧੫॥੨॥੭॥

ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥
ik-oNkaar satgur parsaad.
One eternal God, realized by the grace of the true Guru:
ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਸਿਮਰੈ ਧਰਤੀ ਅਰੁ ਆਕਾਸਾ ॥
simrai Dhartee ar aakaasaa.
The earth and the sky function under God’s will (as if they are remembering Him).
ਧਰਤੀ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਰਜ਼ਾ ਵਿਚ ਤੁਰ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ ਆਕਾਸ਼ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਰਜ਼ਾ ਵਿਚ ਹੈ।
ਸਿਮਰਹਿ ਚੰਦ ਸੂਰਜ ਗੁਣਤਾਸਾ ॥
simrahi chand sooraj guntaasaa.
The sun and the moon are under the command of God, the treasure of virtues.
ਚੰਦ ਅਤੇ ਸੂਰਜ ਉਸ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦੇ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਰਜ਼ਾ ਵਿਚ ਤੁਰ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ.
ਪਉਣ ਪਾਣੀ ਬੈਸੰਤਰ ਸਿਮਰਹਿ ਸਿਮਰੈ ਸਗਲ ਉਪਾਰਜਨਾ ॥੧॥
pa-un paanee baisantar simrahi simrai sagal upaarjanaa. ||1||
The air, water and fire also function under God’s will; in fact the entire creation is bound by God’s command. ||1||
ਹਵਾ ਪਾਣੀ ਅੱਗ (ਆਦਿਕ ਤੱਤ) ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਰਜ਼ਾ ਵਿਚ ਕੰਮ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ। ਸਾਰੀ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਰਜ਼ਾ ਵਿਚ ਕੰਮ ਕਰ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
