ਕਾਇਆ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਗੜੁ ਕੋਟੁ ਹੈ ਸਭਿ ਦਿਸੰਤਰ ਦੇਸਾ ॥
kaa-i-aa andar garh kot hai sabh disantar daysaa.
Within the human body is the magnificent fort of God, who is also pervading in all countries, lands and everywhere.
ਮਨੁੱਖਾ-ਸਰੀਰ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ (ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਹਿਰਦਾ-ਰੂਪ) ਜਿਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਕਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਹੈ ਗੜ੍ਹ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਸਾਰੇ ਦੇਸ ਦੇਸਾਂਤਰਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੈ।
ਜਨੁ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਮੰਗੈ ਦਾਨੁ ਇਕੁ ਦੇਹੁ ਦਰਸੁ ਮਨਿ ਪਿਆਰੁ ॥੨॥
jan naanak mangai daan ik dayh daras man pi-aar. ||2||
O’ God, devotee Nanak begs for one gift: please bestow Your blessed vision and enshrine Your love in my mind. ||2||
(ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ!) ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ ਭੀ ਇਕ ਖੈਰ ਮੰਗਦਾ ਹੈ-ਮੈਨੂੰ ਦੀਦਾਰ ਦੇਹ ਤੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਆਪਣਾ ਪਿਆਰ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ ॥੨॥
ਸਾਧੂ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਨਿਰਮਲਾ ਅਠਸਠਿ ਮਜਨਾਗਾ ॥
saaDhoo sangat nirmalaa athsath majnaagaa.
In the company of the Guru, his mind became immaculate as if he had bathed at all the sixty-eight holy places.
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਮਾਨੋ, ਉਸ ਨੇ ਅਠਾਹਠ ਤੀਰਥਾਂ ਦਾ ਇਸ਼ਨਾਨ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਪੂਰਬ ਜਨਮ ਹਮ ਤੁਮ੍ਹ੍ਹਰੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਅਬ ਤਉ ਮਿਟਿਆ ਨ ਜਾਈ ॥
poorab janam ham tumHray sayvak ab ta-o miti-aa na jaa-ee.
O’ God! I was Your devotee in past births and I cannot leave You even now.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੈਂ ਤਾਂ ਪਹਿਲੇ ਜਨਮਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਭੀ ਤੇਰਾ ਹੀ ਸੇਵਕ ਰਿਹਾ ਹਾਂ, ਹੁਣ ਭੀ ਤੇਰੇ ਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਹਟਿਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ।

the boat of life with loads of sins can not cross through these whirlpools.
ਪਾਪਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੱਥਰ ਲੱਦ ਕੇ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਦੀ ਬੇੜੀ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਘੁੰਮਣ-ਘੇਰੀਆਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੰਘ ਸਕਦੀ।
