ਭੈ ਨਿਰਭਉ ਮਾਣਿਅਉ ਲਾਖ ਮਹਿ ਅਲਖੁ ਲਖਾਯਉ ॥
bhai nirbha-o maani-a-o laakh meh alakh lakhaa-ya-o.
Abiding in God’s fear, Guru Arjan has realized the fearless God, and he has helped millions to comprehend the incomprehensible God.
ਹੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਅਰਜਨ ਦੇਵ ਜੀ ਆਪ ਨੇ ਰਬੀ ਭੈ ਵਿਚ ਰਹਿ ਕੇ ਨਿਰਭਉ ਹਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਣਿਆ ਹੈ, ਤੇ ਜੋ ਲੱਖਾਂ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਲਖ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਜਣਾਅ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ l
ਅਗਮੁ ਅਗੋਚਰ ਗਤਿ ਗਭੀਰੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਪਰਚਾਯਉ ॥
agam agochar gat gabheer satgur parchaa-ya-o.
The true Guru (Ramdas) has made you realize the state of the inaccessible, unfathomable and Profound God.
ਗੁਰੂ (ਰਾਮਦਾਸ ਜੀ) ਨੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਹਰੀ ਦਾ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਅਗੰਮ ਹੈ, ਗੰਭੀਰ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਹਸਤੀ ਇੰਦ੍ਰਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਤੋਂ ਪਰੇ ਹੈ।
ਗੁਰ ਪਰਚੈ ਪਰਵਾਣੁ ਰਾਜ ਮਹਿ ਜੋਗੁ ਕਮਾਯਉ ॥
gur parchai parvaan raaj meh jog kamaa-ya-o.
Because of the Guru’s teachings you have been approved in God’s presence, and you have attained union with God while living amidst a material world.
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਆਪ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਹਜ਼ੂਰੀ ਵਿਚ) ਕਬੂਲ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਹੋ, ਆਪ ਨੇ ਰਾਜ ਵਿਚ ਜੋਗ ਕਮਾਇਆ ਹੈ।
ਧੰਨਿ ਧੰਨਿ ਗੁਰੁ ਧੰਨਿ ਅਭਰ ਸਰ ਸੁਭਰ ਭਰਾਯਉ ॥
Dhan Dhan gur Dhan abhar sar subhar bharaa-ya-o.
O’ Guru (Guru Arjan) you are praiseworthy, you have filled to the brim the emptyhearts of your devotees with the nectar of God’s Name.
ਗੁਰੂ ਅਰਜੁਨ ਦੇਵ ਧੰਨ ਹੈ। ਖ਼ਾਲੀ ਹਿਰਦਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪ ਨੇ (ਨਾਮ-ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਨਾਲ) ਨਕਾ-ਨਕ ਭਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।
ਗੁਰ ਗਮ ਪ੍ਰਮਾਣਿ ਅਜਰੁ ਜਰਿਓ ਸਰਿ ਸੰਤੋਖ ਸਮਾਇਯਉ ॥
gur gam parmaan ajar jari-o sar santokh samaa-i-ya-o.
By attaining the status of the Guru, you have endured the unendurable, and you have attained complete contentment as if you are immersed in the pool of contentment.
ਗੁਰੂ ਵਾਲੀ ਪਦਵੀ ਪਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਲੈਣ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਆਪ ਨੇ ਅਜਰ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਨੂੰ ਜਰਿਆ ਹੈ, ਤੇ ਆਪ ਸੰਤੋਖ ਦੇ ਸਰੋਵਰ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਹੋ ।
ਗੁਰ ਅਰਜੁਨ ਕਲ੍ਯ੍ਯੁਚਰੈ ਤੈ ਸਹਜਿ ਜੋਗੁ ਨਿਜੁ ਪਾਇਯਉ ॥੮॥
gur arjun kal-yuchrai tai sahj jog nij paa-i-ya-o. ||8||
Bard Kallh says, O’ Guru Arjan, by remaining in a state of spiritual poise, you have attained union with God. ||8||
ਕਵੀ ‘ਕਲ੍ਯ੍ਯ’ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ‘ਹੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਅਰਜੁਨ (ਦੇਵ ਜੀ)! ਤੂੰ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕ ਕੇ (ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਨਾਲ) ਅਸਲੀ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ’ ॥੮॥
ਅਮਿਉ ਰਸਨਾ ਬਦਨਿ ਬਰ ਦਾਤਿ ਅਲਖ ਅਪਾਰ ਗੁਰ ਸੂਰ ਸਬਦਿ ਹਉਮੈ ਨਿਵਾਰ੍ਉ ॥
ami-o rasnaa badan bar daat alakh apaar gur soor sabad ha-umai nirvaar-ya-o.
O’ the incomprehensible and limitlessly brave Guru, ambrosial neactor of Naam rains from your tongue and you bestow blessings with your mouth; you have eradicated egotism through the Divine word.
ਹੇ ਅਲੱਖ! ਹੇ ਅਪਾਰ! ਹੇ ਸੂਰਮੇ ਗੁਰੂ! ਆਪ ਜੀਭ ਨਾਲ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ (ਵਰਸਾਉਂਦੇ ਹੋ) ਅਤੇ ਮੂੰਹੋਂ ਵਰ ਦੀ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋ, ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਆਪ ਨੇ ਹਉਮੈ ਦੂਰ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ।
ਪੰਚਾਹਰੁ ਨਿਦਲਿਅਉ ਸੁੰਨ ਸਹਜਿ ਨਿਜ ਘਰਿ ਸਹਾਰ੍ਉ ॥
panchaahar nidli-a-o sunn sahj nij ghar sahaar-ya-o.
You have eradicated the ignorance which was defeating the five sensory organs, and have enshrined God in your heart by staying in a state of spiritual poise.
ਪੰਜ (ਗਿਆਨ ਇੰਦ੍ਰਿਆਂ) ਨੂੰ ਹਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ,ਅਗਿਆਨ ਨੂੰ ਆਪ ਨੇ ਨਾਸ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਅਫੁਰ ਨਿਰੰਕਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕਾਇਆ ਹੈ।
ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਲਾਗਿ ਜਗ ਉਧਰ੍ਉ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਰਿਦੈ ਬਸਾਇਅਉ ॥
har naam laag jag uDhar-ya-o satgur ridai basaa-i-a-o.
O’ Guru Arjan, you have emancipated the world by focusing on God’s Name and you have enshrined the true Guru (Ramdas) in your heart.
ਹੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਅਰਜਨ! ਹਰੀ-ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜ ਕੇ (ਆਪ ਨੇ) ਜਗਤ ਨੂੰ ਬਚਾ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ; (ਆਪ ਨੇ) ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਵਸਾਇਆ ਹੈ।
ਗੁਰ ਅਰਜੁਨ ਕਲ੍ਯ੍ਯੁਚਰੈ ਤੈ ਜਨਕਹ ਕਲਸੁ ਦੀਪਾਇਅਉ ॥੯॥
gur arjun kal-yuchrai tai jankah kalas deepaa-i-a-o. ||9||
Bard Kallh says, O’ Guru Arjan, you have illuminated the pinnacle of divine wisdom. ||9||
ਕਲ੍ਯ੍ਯ ਕਵੀ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਆਪ ਨੇ ਗਿਆਨ-ਰੂਪ ਕਲਸ ਨੂੰ ਲਿਸ਼ਕਾਇਆ ਹੈ ॥੯॥

ਗੁਰੁ ਅਰਜੁਨੁ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਪ੍ਰਮਾਣੁ ਪਾਰਥਉ ਚਾਲੈ ਨਹੀ ॥
gur arjun purakh parmaan paartha-o chaalai nahee.
Guru Arjan is God’s embodiment and he does not budge from the battle against vices like the warrior Arjan of Hindu epic Mahabharat.
ਗੁਰੂ ਅਰਜਨ (ਦੇਵ ਜੀ) ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ-ਰੂਪ ਹੈ, ਅਰਜੁਨ ਵਾਂਗ ਆਪ ਕਦੇ ਘਬਰਾਉਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਨ (ਭਾਵ, ਜਿਵੇਂ ਅਰਜੁਨ ਕੁਰੂਖੇਤ੍ਰ ਦੇ ਯੁੱਧ ਵਿਚ ਵੈਰੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਦਲਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਘਬਰਾਉਂਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ, ਤਿਵੇਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਅਰਜੁਨ ਦੇਵ ਜੀ ਕਾਮਾਦਿਕ ਵੈਰੀਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਘਬਰਾਉਂਦੇ;
ਨੇਜਾ ਨਾਮ ਨੀਸਾਣੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸਬਦਿ ਸਵਾਰਿਅਉ ॥੧॥
nayjaa naam neesaan satgur sabad savaari-a-o. ||1||
He holds in his hand the spear of Naam and the true Guru’s word has embellished him. ||1||
ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ ਆਪ ਦੇ ਹੱਥ ਦਾ ਨੇਜ਼ਾ ਹੈ, ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਨੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਸੋਹਣਾ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਭਵਜਲੁ ਸਾਇਰੁ ਸੇਤੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਹਰੀ ਕਾ ਬੋਹਿਥਾ ॥
bhavjal saa-ir sayt naam haree kaa bohithaa.
This world is like an ocean of vices and God’s Name is like a bridge or ship (to help humans to cross this ocean).
ਸੰਸਾਰ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਹੈ, ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਪੁਲ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਜਹਾਜ਼ ਹੈ।
ਤੁਅ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸੰ ਹੇਤੁ ਨਾਮਿ ਲਾਗਿ ਜਗੁ ਉਧਰ੍ਯ੍ਯਉ ॥੨॥
tu-a satgur saN hayt naam laag jag uDhar-yao. ||2||
O’ Guru Arjan, you are imbued with the love of the true Guru, becoming attuned to God’s Name, you have saved the world from this world-ocean of vices. ||2||
ਆਪ ਦਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਲ ਪਿਆਰ ਹੈ, (ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਦੇ) ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜ ਕੇ ਆਪ ਨੇ ਜਗਤ ਨੂੰ (ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋ) ਬਚਾ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਜਗਤ ਉਧਾਰਣੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਤੁਠੈ ਪਾਇਅਉ ॥
jagat uDhaaran naam satgur tuthai paa-i-a-o.
World’s emancipator, O’ Guru Arjan, you received this Name when the true Guru (Ramdas) became gracious upon you.
ਜਗਤ ਨੂੰ ਤਾਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਨਾਮ ਆਪ ਨੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਹੋਣ ਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ।
ਅਬ ਨਾਹਿ ਅਵਰ ਸਰਿ ਕਾਮੁ ਬਾਰੰਤਰਿ ਪੂਰੀ ਪੜੀ ॥੩॥੧੨॥
ab naahi avar sar kaam baarantar pooree parhee. ||3||12||
Now, I am not concerned with anyone else because all my desires have been fulfilled at your door. ||3||12||
ਸਾਨੂੰ ਹੁਣ ਕਿਸੇ ਹੋਰ ਨਾਲ ਕੋਈ ਗਉਂ ਨਹੀਂ। (ਗੁਰੂ ਅਰਜਨ ਦੇਵ ਜੀ ਦੇ) ਦਰ ਉਤੇ ਸਾਡੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਕਾਰਜ ਰਾਸ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਹਨ ॥੩॥੧੨॥
ਜੋਤਿ ਰੂਪਿ ਹਰਿ ਆਪਿ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਕਹਾਯਉ ॥
jot roop har aap guroo naanak kahaa-ya-o.
God, the Divine light, let Himself be called Guru Nanak.
ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼-ਰੂਪ ਹਰੀ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਅਖਵਾਇਆ।
ਤਾ ਤੇ ਅੰਗਦੁ ਭਯਉ ਤਤ ਸਿਉ ਤਤੁ ਮਿਲਾਯਉ ॥
taa tay angad bha-ya-o tat si-o tat milaa-ya-o.
From him (Guru Nanak), Guru Angad became manifest and Guru Nanak’s soul merged with Guru Angad’s soul.
ਉਸ (ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੇਵ ਜੀ) ਤੋਂ (ਗੁਰੂ ਅੰਗਦ ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਹੋਇਆ), (ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੇਵ ਜੀ ਦੀ) ਜੋਤਿ (ਗੁਰੂ ਅੰਗਦ ਜੀ ਦੀ) ਜੋਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲ ਗਈ।
ਅੰਗਦਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਧਾਰਿ ਅਮਰੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਥਿਰੁ ਕੀਅਉ ॥
angad kirpaa Dhaar amar satgur thir kee-a-o.
Bestowing mercy, Guru Angad eternally established Amardas as the true Guru.
(ਗੁਰੂ) ਅੰਗਦ (ਦੇਵ ਜੀ) ਨੇ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਅਮਰਦਾਸ ਜੀ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਥਾਪਿਆ;
ਅਮਰਦਾਸਿ ਅਮਰਤੁ ਛਤ੍ਰੁ ਗੁਰ ਰਾਮਹਿ ਦੀਅਉ ॥
amardaas amrat chhatar gur raameh dee-a-o.
Guru Amardas gave the eternal canopy of the Guru-ship to Guru Ramdas.
(ਗੁਰੂ) ਅਮਰਦਾਸ (ਜੀ) ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਵਾਲਾ ਛੱਤ੍ਰ ਗੁਰੂ ਰਾਮਦਾਸ (ਜੀ) ਨੂੰ ਦੇ ਦਿਤਾ।
ਗੁਰ ਰਾਮਦਾਸ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਪਰਸਿ ਕਹਿ ਮਥੁਰਾ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਬਯਣ ॥
gur raamdaas darsan paras kahi mathuraa amrit ba-yan.
Bard Mathura says that by seeing the blessed vision of Guru Ramdas, the words of Guru Arjan have become spiritually rejuvenating.
ਮਥੁਰਾ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ‘ਗੁਰੂ ਰਾਮਦਾਸ (ਜੀ) ਦਾ ਦਰਸਨ ਕਰ ਕੇ (ਗੁਰੂ ਅਰਜਨ ਦੇਵ ਜੀ ਦੇ) ਬਚਨ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਹਨ।
ਮੂਰਤਿ ਪੰਚ ਪ੍ਰਮਾਣ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਗੁਰੁ ਅਰਜੁਨੁ ਪਿਖਹੁ ਨਯਣ ॥੧॥
moorat panch parmaan purakh gur arjun pikhahu na-yan. ||1||
(O’ my friends), all of you should see the fifth Guru Arjan, the embodiment of God with your eyes.||1||
ਪੰਜਵੇਂ ਸਰੂਪ ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਰੂਪ ਗੁਰੂ ਅਰਜੁਨ ਦੇਵ ਜੀ ਨੂੰ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਵੇਖੋ ॥੧॥
ਸਤਿ ਰੂਪੁ ਸਤਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਤੁ ਸੰਤੋਖੁ ਧਰਿਓ ਉਰਿ ॥
sat roop sat naam sat santokh Dhari-o ur.
Guru Arjan has enshrined truth and contentment in his heart and has enshrined within him that God who is the embodiment of truth and is eternal.
(ਗੁਰੂ ਅਰਜੁਨ ਦੇਵ ਜੀ ਨੇ) ਸਤ ਸੰਤੋਖ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਧਾਰਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ, ਤੇ ਉਸ ਹਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਟਿਕਾਇਆ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਰੂਪ ਸਤਿ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਨਾਮ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਹੈ।
ਆਦਿ ਪੁਰਖਿ ਪਰਤਖਿ ਲਿਖ੍ਉ ਅਛਰੁ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਧੁਰਿ ॥
aad purakh partakh likh-ya-o achhar mastak Dhur.
God, the primal being, has preordained him very clearly with this destiny of becoming the Guru.
ਪਰਤੱਖ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਨੇ ਧੁਰੋਂ ਹੀ ਆਪ ਦੇ ਮੱਥੇ ਤੇ ਲੇਖ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਜੋਤਿ ਜਗਮਗੈ ਤੇਜੁ ਭੂਅ ਮੰਡਲਿ ਛਾਯਉ ॥
pargat jot jagmagai tayj bhoo-a mandal chhaa-ya-o.
God’s divine light clearly shines within him (Guru Arjan), and his grandeur has spread all over the world.
(ਆਪ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ) ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ (ਹਰੀ ਦੀ) ਜੋਤਿ ਜਗਮਗ ਜਗਮਗ ਕਰ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ, (ਆਪ ਦਾ) ਤੇਜ ਧਰਤੀ ਉਤੇ ਛਾਇਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ।
ਪਾਰਸੁ ਪਰਸਿ ਪਰਸੁ ਪਰਸਿ ਗੁਰਿ ਗੁਰੂ ਕਹਾਯਉ ॥
paaras paras paras paras gur guroo kahaa-ya-o.
By meeting and coming into contact with Guru Ramdas, Guru Arjan was acclaimed as Guru by the Guru Ramdas himself as if he touched a mythical philosopher’s stone.
ਪਾਰਸ (ਗੁਰੂ) ਨੂੰ ਤੇ ਪਰਸਣ-ਜੋਗ (ਗੁਰੂ) ਨੂੰ ਛੁਹ ਕੇ (ਆਪ) ਗੁਰੂ ਤੋਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਅਖਵਾਏ।
ਭਨਿ ਮਥੁਰਾ ਮੂਰਤਿ ਸਦਾ ਥਿਰੁ ਲਾਇ ਚਿਤੁ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਰਹਹੁ ॥
bhan mathuraa moorat sadaa thir laa-ay chit sanmukh rahhu.
Bard Mathura says, keeping your mind fixed on the Guru (Guru Arjan), always remain in his presence.
ਮਥੁਰਾ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ- (ਗੁਰੂ ਅਰਜੁਨ ਦੇਵ ਜੀ ਦੇ) ਸਰੂਪ ਵਿਚ ਮਨ ਭਲੀ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਰ ਜੋੜ ਕੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਰਹੋ।
ਕਲਜੁਗਿ ਜਹਾਜੁ ਅਰਜੁਨੁ ਗੁਰੂ ਸਗਲ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ੍ਟਿ ਲਗਿ ਬਿਤਰਹੁ ॥੨॥
kaljug jahaaj arjun guroo sagal sarisat lag bitrahu. ||2||
O’ the people of the world, in the present age of kalyug, Guru Arjan is like a ship; you can safely cross over this worldly ocean of vices by following his teachings. ||2||
ਗੁਰੂ ਅਰਜੁਨ ਕਲਜੁਗ ਵਿਚ ਜਹਾਜ਼ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦੇ ਲੋਕੋ! ਉਸ ਦੀ ਚਰਨੀਂ ਲੱਗ ਕੇ (ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਾਗਰ) ਤੋਂ ਸਹੀ ਸਲਾਮਤ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘੋ ॥੨॥
ਤਿਹ ਜਨ ਜਾਚਹੁ ਜਗਤ੍ਰ ਪਰ ਜਾਨੀਅਤੁ ਬਾਸੁਰ ਰਯਨਿ ਬਾਸੁ ਜਾ ਕੋ ਹਿਤੁ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਉ ॥
tih jan jaachahu jagtar par jaanee-at baasur ra-yan baas jaa ko hit naam si-o.
O’ mortals, beg only from that Guru who is known all over the world and who always remains imbued and absorbed in God’s Name,
ਹੇ ਲੋਕੋ! ਉਸ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਮੰਗੋ, ਜੋ ਸਾਰੇ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤ ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਪਿਆਰ ਤੇ ਵਾਸਾ ਨਾਮ ਨਾਲ ਹੈ,
ਪਰਮ ਅਤੀਤੁ ਪਰਮੇਸੁਰ ਕੈ ਰੰਗਿ ਰੰਗ੍ਯ੍ਯੌ ਬਾਸਨਾ ਤੇ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਪੈ ਦੇਖੀਅਤੁ ਧਾਮ ਸਿਉ ॥
param ateet parmaysur kai rang rang-y-ou baasnaa tay baahar pai daykhee-at Dhaam si-o.
who is completely detached, imbued with supreme God’s love; he is without any worldly desire, but is seen living in the household.
ਜੋ ਪੂਰਨ ਵੈਰਾਗਵਾਨ ਹੈ, ਹਰੀ ਦੇ ਪਿਆਰ ਵਿਚ ਭਿੱਜਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ, ਵਾਸ਼ਨਾ ਤੋਂ ਪਰੇ ਹੈ; ਪਰ ਉਂਞ ਗ੍ਰਿਹਸਤ ਵਿਚ ਵੇਖੀਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਅਪਰ ਪਰੰਪਰ ਪੁਰਖ ਸਿਉ ਪ੍ਰੇਮੁ ਲਾਗ੍ਯ੍ਯੌ ਬਿਨੁ ਭਗਵੰਤ ਰਸੁ ਨਾਹੀ ਅਉਰੈ ਕਾਮ ਸਿਉ ॥
apar parampar purakh si-o paraym laag-y-ou bin bhagvant ras naahee a-urai kaam si-o.
He is imbued with the love of the infinite and limitless God, and he has no concern with anyone except God.
(ਜਿਸ ਗੁਰੂ ਅਰਜੁਨ ਦਾ) ਪਿਆਰ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਹਰੀ ਨਾਲ ਲੱਗਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ, ਤੇ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਹਰੀ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਕਿਸੇ ਹੋਰ ਕੰਮ ਨਾਲ ਕੋਈ ਗਉਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ,
ਮਥੁਰਾ ਕੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸ੍ਰਬ ਮਯ ਅਰਜੁਨ ਗੁਰੁ ਭਗਤਿ ਕੈ ਹੇਤਿ ਪਾਇ ਰਹਿਓ ਮਿਲਿ ਰਾਮ ਸਿਉ ॥੩॥
mathuraa ko parabh sarab ma-y arjun gur bhagat kai hayt paa-ay rahi-o mil raam si-o. ||3||
For bard Mathura, Guru Arjan is his all-pervading God, who for the love of devotional worship remains attuned to God’s Name. ||3||
ਉਹ ਗੁਰੂ ਅਰਜੁਨ ਹੀ ਮਥੁਰਾ ਦਾ ਸਰਬ-ਵਿਆਪਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਭਗਤੀ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਾਤਰ ਹਰੀ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
