ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਰਵਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਜਗਦੀਸੁਰ ਪੇਖਤ ਸਦਾ ਹਜੂਰੇ ॥
man tan rav rahi-aa jagdeesur paykhat sadaa hajooray.
O’ brother, those who have enshrined God’s Name in their hearts and minds, always visualize Him very close to them.
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਜਗਤ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਸਦਾ ਵੱਸਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਦਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਗ-ਸੰਗ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਵੇਖਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਰਵਿ ਰਹਿਓ ਸਭ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਸਰਬ ਰਹਿਆ ਭਰਪੂਰੇ ॥੨॥੮॥੧੨॥
naanak rav rahi-o sabh antar sarab rahi-aa bharpooray. ||2||8||12||
O’ Nanak, (it seems to them that) God is abiding within all beings and is pervading everywhere. ||2||8||12||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਉਂ ਜਾਪਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੈ, ਸਭ ਥਾਈਂ ਭਰਪੂਰ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥੮॥੧੨॥

ਹਰਿ ਕੈ ਭਜਨਿ ਕਉਨ ਕਉਨ ਨ ਤਾਰੇ ॥
har kai bhajan ka-un ka-un na taaray.
Is there anyone who lovingly remembered God, but was not ferried across the world-ocean of vices?
ਉਹ ਕੌਣ ਕੌਣ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੇ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਕਲਿਆਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਈ?
ਖਗ ਤਨ ਮੀਨ ਤਨ ਮ੍ਰਿਗ ਤਨ ਬਰਾਹ ਤਨ ਸਾਧੂ ਸੰਗਿ ਉਧਾਰੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
khag tan meen tan marig tan baraah tan saaDhoo sang uDhaaray. ||1|| rahaa-o.
All those gods and sages who assumed the body of a bird, fish, deer and pig were saved by remembering God in the company of saints. ||1||Pause||
ਪੰਛੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਸਰੀਰ ਧਾਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ, ਮੱਛੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਸਰੀਰ ਧਾਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ, ਪਸ਼ੂਆਂ ਦਾ ਸਰੀਰ ਧਾਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਸੂਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਰੀਰ ਧਾਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ-ਇਹ ਸਭ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘਾ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਗਏ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਦੇਵ ਕੁਲ ਦੈਤ ਕੁਲ ਜਖ੍ ਕਿੰਨਰ ਨਰ ਸਾਗਰ ਉਤਰੇ ਪਾਰੇ ॥
dayv kul dait kul jakh-y kinnar nar saagar utray paaray.
The descendants of gods, demons, celestial singers and the human beings crossed over the world-ocean of vices by remembering God.
(ਸਿਮਰਨ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ) ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਕੁਲਾਂ, ਦੈਂਤਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਕੁਲਾਂ, ਜੱਖ, ਕਿੰਨਰ ਮਨੁੱਖ-ਇਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘ ਗਏ।
ਜੋ ਜੋ ਭਜਨੁ ਕਰੈ ਸਾਧੂ ਸੰਗਿ ਤਾ ਕੇ ਦੂਖ ਬਿਦਾਰੇ ॥੧॥
jo jo bhajan karai saaDhoo sang taa kay dookh bidaaray. ||1||
Any human being who sings God’s praises in the company of saints, all his sorrows are eradicated. ||1||
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਰਹਿ ਕੇ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਭਜਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਸਭਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਦੁੱਖ ਨਾਸ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੧॥
ਕਾਮ ਕਰੋਧ ਮਹਾ ਬਿਖਿਆ ਰਸ ਇਨ ਤੇ ਭਏ ਨਿਰਾਰੇ ॥
kaam karoDh mahaa bikhi-aa ras in tay bha-ay niraaray.
Such human beings remain detached from lust, anger, and all other sinful worldly pleasures.
ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਕਾਮ, ਕ੍ਰੋਧ, ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਚਸਕੇ-ਇਹਨਾਂ ਸਭਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਨਿਰਲੇਪ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਦੀਨ ਦਇਆਲ ਜਪਹਿ ਕਰੁਣਾ ਮੈ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਦ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੇ ॥੨॥੯॥੧੩॥
deen da-i-aal jaapeh karunaa mai naanak sad balihaaray. ||2||9||13||
O’ Nanak! I am forever dedicated to those who lovingly remember the merciful and compassionate Master-God of the destitute. ||2||9||13||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਦੀਨਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਦਇਆ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਤਰਸ-ਸਰੂਪ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਜਪਦੇ ਹਨ, ਮੈਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਸਦਾ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ ॥੨॥੯॥੧੩॥

ਆਜੁ ਮੈ ਬੈਸਿਓ ਹਰਿ ਹਾਟ ॥
aaj mai baisi-o har haat.
O’ my friends, now I have joined the congregation of the saints where one can lovingly remember God’s Name.
ਹੁਣ ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਹੱਟ (ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤ) ਵਿਚ ਆ ਬੈਠਾ ਹਾਂ, (ਜਿੱਥੇ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ)।
ਨਾਮੁ ਰਾਸਿ ਸਾਝੀ ਕਰਿ ਜਨ ਸਿਉ ਜਾਂਉ ਨ ਜਮ ਕੈ ਘਾਟ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
naam raas saajhee kar jan si-o jaaN-o na jam kai ghaat. ||1|| rahaa-o.
In that congregation I have acquired so much wealth of God’s Name that now I do not fall into the traps of demons of death.||1||Pause||
ਉਥੇ ਮੈਂ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਂਝ ਪਾ ਕੇ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਸਰਮਾਇਆ (ਇਕੱਠਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ) ਮੈਂ ਜਮਦੂਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੱਤਣ ਤੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਂਦਾ (ਭਾਵ, ਮੈਂ ਉਹ ਕਰਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਜਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਵੱਸ ਪਈਦਾ ਹੈ) ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਧਾਰਿ ਅਨੁਗ੍ਰਹੁ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮਿ ਰਾਖੇ ਭ੍ਰਮ ਕੇ ਖੁਲੇ੍ਹ੍ਹ ਕਪਾਟ ॥
Dhaar anoograhu paarbarahm raakhay bharam kay khulHay kapaat.
By His grace, those whom the supreme God has protected, all of their delusions have been removed.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੇ ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਕੀਤੀ (ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ) ਭਰਮ-ਭਟਕਣਾ ਦੇ ਭੱਤ ਖੁਲ੍ਹ ਗਏ।
ਬੇਸੁਮਾਰ ਸਾਹੁ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਲਾਹਾ ਚਰਨ ਨਿਧਿ ਖਾਟ ॥੧॥
baysumaar saahu parabh paa-i-aa laahaa charan niDh khaat. ||1||
In the company of saints, they have realized God, the Master of infinite treasure of Naam, and have earned the reward of remembering God’s Name. ||1||
ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਨਾਮ-ਸਰਮਾਏ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਲੱਭ ਲਿਆ। ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ (ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕੇ ਰਹਿਣ) ਦੀ ਖੱਟੀ ਖੱਟ ਲਈ, ਜੋ ਸਾਰੇ ਸੁਖਾਂ ਦਾ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਸਰਨਿ ਗਹੀ ਅਚੁਤ ਅਬਿਨਾਸੀ ਕਿਲਬਿਖ ਕਾਢੇ ਹੈ ਛਾਂਟਿ ॥
saran gahee achut abhinaasee kilbikh kaadhay hai chhaaNt.
O’ my friends, the devotees who took refuge in the eternal and imperishable God, have expelled all their sins one by one.
(ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸੇਵਕਾਂ ਨੇ) ਅਟੱਲ ਅਬਿਨਾਸੀ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਲੈ ਲਿਆ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ (ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਸਾਰੇ) ਪਾਪ ਚੁਣ ਚੁਣ ਕੇ ਕੱਢ ਦਿੱਤੇ,
ਕਲਿ ਕਲੇਸ ਮਿਟੇ ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ ਬਹੁਰਿ ਨ ਜੋਨੀ ਮਾਟ ॥੨॥੧੦॥੧੪॥
kal kalays mitay daas naanak bahur na jonee maat. ||2||10||14||
O’ Nanak, all the sorrows and sufferings of those devotees have been wiped out, and they do not re-enter into the cycle of birth and death.||2||10||14||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾਸਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਝਗੜੇ ਕਲੇਸ਼ ਮੁੱਕ ਗਏ, ਉਹ ਮੁੜ ਜੂਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੈਂਦੇ ॥੨॥੧੦॥੧੪॥

ਬਹੁ ਬਿਧਿ ਮਾਇਆ ਮੋਹ ਹਿਰਾਨੋ ॥
baho biDh maa-i-aa moh hiraano.
In many ways, the human beings get deceived in their love for Maya, the worldly riches and power.
(ਜੀਵ) ਕਈ ਤਰੀਕਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਵਿਚ ਠੱਗੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਕੋਟਿ ਮਧੇ ਕੋਊ ਬਿਰਲਾ ਸੇਵਕੁ ਪੂਰਨ ਭਗਤੁ ਚਿਰਾਨੋ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
kot maDhay ko-oo birlaa sayvak pooran bhagat chiraano. ||1|| rahaa-o.
It is very rare to find among millions someone who has been a perfect devotee from the very beginning. ||1||Pause||
ਕ੍ਰੋੜਾਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਕੋਈ ਵਿਰਲਾ ਹੀ (ਅਜਿਹਾ) ਸੇਵਕ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਮੁੱਢ ਕਦੀਮਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਹੀ ਪੂਰਾ ਭਗਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਇਤ ਉਤ ਡੋਲਿ ਡੋਲਿ ਸ੍ਰਮੁ ਪਾਇਓ ਤਨੁ ਧਨੁ ਹੋਤ ਬਿਰਾਨੋ ॥
it ut dol dol saram paa-i-o tan Dhan hot biraano.
One wanders around for the sake of Maya and gets tired, but in the end his body and the worldly wealth both become strangers.
(ਮਾਇਆ ਦਾ ਠੱਗਿਆ ਮਨੁੱਖ) ਹਰ ਪਾਸੇ ਭਟਕ ਭਟਕ ਕੇ ਥੱਕਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ (ਜਿਸ ਸਰੀਰ ਅਤੇ ਧਨ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਾਤਰ ਭਟਕਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ) ਸਰੀਰ ਤੇ ਧਨ (ਆਖ਼ਿਰ) ਬਿਗਾਨਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਲੋਗ ਦੁਰਾਇ ਕਰਤ ਠਗਿਆਈ ਹੋਤੌ ਸੰਗਿ ਨ ਜਾਨੋ ॥੧॥
log duraa-ay karat thagi-aa-ee hotou sang na jaano. ||1||
Concealing from people, one (entrapped in the love for Maya) practices deception, but does not seek union with God who is always with him. ||1||
(ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਵਿਚ ਫਸਿਆ ਮਨੁੱਖ) ਲੋਕਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਲੁਕਾ ਲੁਕਾ ਕੇ ਠੱਗੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ (ਜਿਹੜਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਸਦਾ) ਨਾਲ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਂਝ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾਂਦਾ ॥੧॥
ਮ੍ਰਿਗ ਪੰਖੀ ਮੀਨ ਦੀਨ ਨੀਚ ਇਹ ਸੰਕਟ ਫਿਰਿ ਆਨੋ ॥
marig pankhee meen deen neech ih sankat fir aano.
Because of evil deeds done in pursuit of worldly riches and power, one is again made to suffer in such low and helpless species as deer, birds, or fish.
(ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਵਿਚ ਫਸੇ ਰਹਿਣ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਆਖ਼ਿਰ) ਪਸ਼ੂ ਪੰਛੀ ਮੱਛੀ-ਇਹਨਾਂ ਨੀਵੀਆਂ ਜੂਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਗੇੜ ਦੇ ਦੁੱਖਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਭਟਕਦਾ ਫਿਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਪਾਹਨ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਤਾਰਹੁ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਸੁਖ ਮਾਨੋ ॥੨॥੧੧॥੧੫॥
kaho naanak paahan parabh taarahu saaDhsangat sukh maano. ||2||11||15||
O’ Nanak say, O’ God, ferry us, the stone hearted beings, across this worldly ocean so that we may enjoy the bliss in the company of the saints.||2||11||15||
ਨਾਨਕ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ- ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਅਸਾਂ ਪੱਥਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ (ਪੱਥਰ-ਦਿਲ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘਾ ਲੈ, ਅਸੀਂ ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ (ਤੇਰੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਦਾ) ਆਨੰਦ ਮਾਣਦੇ ਰਹੀਏ ॥੨॥੧੧॥੧੫॥

ਦੁਸਟ ਮੁਏ ਬਿਖੁ ਖਾਈ ਰੀ ਮਾਈ ॥
dusat mu-ay bikh khaa-ee ree maa-ee.
O’ my mother, now my vices like lust and anger have vanished as if they had died eating poison.
ਹੇ ਮਾਂ! (ਮੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਮੇਰੇ ਉਤੇ ਤਰਸ ਆਇਆ ਹੈ, ਹੁਣ ਕਾਮਾਇਕ) ਚੰਦਰੇ ਵੈਰੀ (ਇਉਂ) ਮੁੱਕ ਗਏ ਹਨ (ਜਿਵੇਂ) ਜ਼ਹਿਰ ਖਾ ਕੇ।
ਜਿਸ ਕੇ ਜੀਅ ਤਿਨ ਹੀ ਰਖਿ ਲੀਨੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਉ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਆਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
jis kay jee-a tin hee rakh leenay mayray parabh ka-o kirpaa aa-ee. ||1|| rahaa-o.
When my God bestows mercy, He saves the beings from the vices because they belong to Him. ||1||Pause||
ਮੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ (ਜਦੋਂ) ਤਰਸ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਹੀ ਹਨ ਇਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਜੀਵ, ਉਹ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ (ਕਾਮਾਦਿਕ ਵੈਰੀਆਂ ਤੋਂ) ਰੱਖਿਆ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ਸਭ ਮਹਿ ਵਰਤੈ ਤਾਂ ਭਉ ਕੈਸਾ ਭਾਈ ॥
antarjaamee sabh meh vartai taaN bha-o kaisaa bhaa-ee.
O’ brother, when we are certain that God is omniscient and pervades all human beings, then what fear anyone can have?
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਹਰੇਕ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੈ (ਜਦੋਂ ਇਹ ਨਿਸ਼ਚਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਏ) ਤਾਂ ਕੋਈ ਡਰ ਪੋਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ।
ਸੰਗਿ ਸਹਾਈ ਛੋਡਿ ਨ ਜਾਈ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਦੀਸੈ ਸਭਨੀ ਠਾਈ ॥੧॥
sang sahaa-ee chhod na jaa-ee parabh deesai sabhnee thaa-eeN. ||1||
God is the companion of everyone, He does not go away forsaking us and He appears to dwell everywhere. ||1||
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਹਰੇਕ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਥੀ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਂਦਾ, ਉਹ ਸਭ ਥਾਈਂ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਦਿੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਅਨਾਥਾ ਨਾਥੁ ਦੀਨ ਦੁਖ ਭੰਜਨ ਆਪਿ ਲੀਏ ਲੜਿ ਲਾਈ ॥
anaathaa naath deen dukh bhanjan aap lee-ay larh laa-ee.
He is the Master of the meeks, the destroyer of sorrows of the destitutes; on His own, He unites the human beings to Himself.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਿਖਸਮਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਖਸਮ ਹੈ, ਗ਼ਰੀਬਾਂ ਦੇ ਦੁੱਖ ਨਾਸ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ (ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਆਪ ਆਪਣੇ ਲੜ ਲਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਹਰਿ ਕੀ ਓਟ ਜੀਵਹਿ ਦਾਸ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਰਣਾਈ ॥੨॥੧੨॥੧੬॥
har kee ot jeeveh daas tayray naanak parabh sarnaa-ee. ||2||12||16||
O’ God, Your devotees survive on Your support; I, Nanak, also seek Your refuge. ||2||12||16||
ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੇਰੇ ਦਾਸ ਤੇਰੇ ਆਸਰੇ ਜੀਊਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਮੈਂ ਨਾਨਕ ਭੀ ਤੇਰੀ ਹੀ ਸਰਨ ਪਿਆ ਹਾਂ ॥੨॥੧੨॥੧੬॥

Raag Malaar, Fifth Guru:
ਮਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਚਰਨ ਰਵੀਜੈ ॥
man mayray har kay charan raveejai.
O’ my mind, one should contemplate on God’s Name with adoration.
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਚਰਨ ਸਿਮਰਨੇ ਚਾਹੀਦੇ ਹਨ (ਗ਼ਰੀਬੀ ਸੁਭਾਵ ਵਿਚ ਟਿੱਕ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ)।
ਦਰਸ ਪਿਆਸ ਮੇਰੋ ਮਨੁ ਮੋਹਿਓ ਹਰਿ ਪੰਖ ਲਗਾਇ ਮਿਲੀਜੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
daras pi-aas mayro man mohi-o har pankh lagaa-ay mileejai. ||1|| rahaa-o.
My mind remains longing for visualizing God; I wish I had wings and could fly to unite with Him. ||1||pause||
ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਦੀਦਾਰ ਦੀ ਤਾਂਘ ਵਿਚ ਮਗਨ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ (ਇਉਂ ਜੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ) ਉੱਡ ਕੇ ਭੀ ਜਾ ਮਿਲੀਏ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਖੋਜਤ ਖੋਜਤ ਮਾਰਗੁ ਪਾਇਓ ਸਾਧੂ ਸੇਵ ਕਰੀਜੈ ॥
khojat khojat maarag paa-i-o saaDhoo sayv kareejai.
After searching long and hard, I have learned that the path to realize God is that we should continue to follow the Guru’s teachings.
ਭਾਲ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ (ਗੁਰੂ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਮੈਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਦਾ) ਰਸਤਾ ਲੱਭ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ। ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪਏ ਰਹਿਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਧਾਰਿ ਅਨੁਗ੍ਰਹੁ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਮੁ ਮਹਾ ਰਸੁ ਪੀਜੈ ॥੧॥
Dhaar anoograhu su-aamee mayray naam mahaa ras peejai. ||1||
O’ my Master, please bestow mercy so that I may keep lovingly remembering You which is like drinking the elixir of Your Name.||1||
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਾਲਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! (ਮੇਰੇ ਉਤੇ) ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰ, ਤੇਰਾ ਬੜਾ ਹੀ ਸੁਆਦਲਾ ਨਾਮ-ਜਲ ਪੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਸਕੇ ॥੧॥
ਤ੍ਰਾਹਿ ਤ੍ਰਾਹਿ ਕਰਿ ਸਰਨੀ ਆਏ ਜਲਤਉ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕੀਜੈ ॥
taraahi taraahi kar sarnee aa-ay jalta-o kirpaa keejai.
O’ God, burning in the fire of worldly evils, we have come to Your refuge screaming and pleading for Your mercy.
(ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ!) ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ ‘ਬਚਾ ਲੈ’ ‘ਬਚਾ ਲੈ’-ਇਹ ਆਖ ਕੇ (ਜੀਵ) ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਨ ਆਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! (ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਅੱਗ ਵਿਚ) ਸੜਦੇ ਉਤੇ (ਤੂੰ ਆਪ) ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰ।
ਕਰੁ ਗਹਿ ਲੇਹੁ ਦਾਸ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਕਉ ਨਾਨਕ ਅਪੁਨੋ ਕੀਜੈ ॥੨॥੧੩॥੧੭॥
kar geh layho daas apunay ka-o naanak apuno keejai. ||2||13||17||
O’ God, extend Your support to Your devotee and make me, Nanak, as Your own. |2||13||17||
