ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਮੈ ਸਹਜ ਘਰੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਹਰਿ ਭਗਤਿ ਭੰਡਾਰ ਖਜੀਨਾ ॥੨॥੧੦॥੩੩॥
kaho naanak mai sahj ghar paa-i-aa har bhagat bhandaar khajeenaa. ||2||10||33||
O’ Nanak! say, I have attained the treasure of God’s devotional worship, the source of inner peace. ||2||10||33||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ, ਆਖ, ਮੈਂ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਦਾ ਸੋਮਾ ਲੱਭ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ। ਮੈਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਦੇ ਭੰਡਾਰੇ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ ਲੱਭ ਲਏ ਹਨ ॥੨॥੧੦॥੩੩॥

Raag Sarang, Fifth Guru:
ਮੋਹਨ ਸਭਿ ਜੀਅ ਤੇਰੇ ਤੂ ਤਾਰਹਿ ॥
mohan sabh jee-a tayray too taareh.
O’ enticing God, all the beings are created by You and it is You who ferry them across the world-ocean of vices.
ਹੇ ਮੋਹਨ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਸਾਰੇ ਜੀਵ ਤੇਰੇ ਹੀ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ, ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਸਾਗਰ ਤੋ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘਾਂਦਾ ਹੈਂ।
ਛੁਟਹਿ ਸੰਘਾਰ ਨਿਮਖ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਤੇ ਕੋਟਿ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੰਡ ਉਧਾਰਹਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
chhuteh sanghaar nimakh kirpaa tay kot barahmand uDhaareh. ||1|| rahaa-o.
Even with a trace of Your mercy, the cruelest beings cease from their tyrannies and in this way You save millions of worlds. ||1||Pause||
ਤੇਰੀ ਰਤਾ ਜਿਤਨੀ ਮਿਹਰ (ਦੀ ਨਿਗਾਹ) ਨਾਲ ਵੱਡੇ ਵੱਡੇ ਨਿਰਦਈ ਬੰਦੇ ਭੀ ਅੱਤਿਆਚਾਰਾਂ ਵਲੋਂ ਹਟ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਤੂੰ ਕ੍ਰੋੜਾਂ ਹੀ ਆਲਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤਾਰ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਕਰਹਿ ਅਰਦਾਸਿ ਬਹੁਤੁ ਬੇਨੰਤੀ ਨਿਮਖ ਨਿਮਖ ਸਾਮ੍ਹ੍ਹਾਰਹਿ ॥
karahi ardaas bahut baynantee nimakh nimakh saamaaHrahi.
O’ God, all the beings pray and make many requests before You, and lovingly remember You at each and every moment.
ਹੇ ਮੋਹਨ! (ਤੇਰੇ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤੇ ਜੀਵ ਤੇਰੇ ਹੀ ਦਰ ਤੇ) ਅਰਦਾਸ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਤੈਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਪਲ ਪਲ ਯਾਦ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਹੋਹੁ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲ ਦੀਨ ਦੁਖ ਭੰਜਨ ਹਾਥ ਦੇਇ ਨਿਸਤਾਰਹਿ ॥੧॥
hohu kirpaal deen dukh bhanjan haath day-ay nistaareh. ||1||
O’ God, the destroyer of the sorrows of the helpless, when You become merciful, you save them from sorrows by extending Your support. ||1||
ਹੇ ਗਰੀਬਾਂ ਦੇ ਦੁੱਖ ਨਾਸ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਮੋਹਨ! ਜਦੋਂ ਤੂੰ ਦਇਆਵਾਨ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਤਾਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਹੱਥ ਦੇ ਕੇ (ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੁੱਖਾਂ ਤੋਂ) ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈਂ ॥੧॥
ਕਿਆ ਏ ਭੂਪਤਿ ਬਪੁਰੇ ਕਹੀਅਹਿ ਕਹੁ ਏ ਕਿਸ ਨੋ ਮਾਰਹਿ ॥
ki-aa ay bhoopat bapuray kahee-ahi kaho ay kis no maareh.
O’ God, what power these poor persons have whom we call kings, tell me who can they kill?
(ਹੇ ਮੋਹਨ!) ਇਹਨਾਂ ਵਿਚਾਰੇ ਰਾਜਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਕੀ ਪਾਂਇਆਂ ਹੈ? ਇਹ ਕਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਨ?
ਰਾਖੁ ਰਾਖੁ ਰਾਖੁ ਸੁਖਦਾਤੇ ਸਭੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਜਗਤੁ ਤੁਮ੍ਹ੍ਹਾਰਹਿ ॥੨॥੧੧॥੩੪॥
raakh raakh raakh sukh-daatay sabh naanak jagat tumHaarahi. ||2||11||34||
O’ Nanak! say, O’ God, the giver of inner peace, save them all because the entire universe is created by You. ||2||11||34||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਆਖ, ਹੇ ਸੁਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੇ! ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੀ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਕਰ,। ਸਾਰਾ ਜਗਤ ਤੇਰਾ ਹੀ (ਰਚਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ) ਹੈ ॥੨॥੧੧॥੩੪॥

ਅਬ ਮੋਹਿ ਧਨੁ ਪਾਇਓ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਾ ॥
ab mohi Dhan paa-i-o har naamaa.
O’ my friends, now I have received the wealth of God’s Name.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਹੁਣ ਮੈਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ-ਧਨ ਲੱਭ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਭਏ ਅਚਿੰਤ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨ ਸਭ ਬੁਝੀ ਹੈ ਇਹੁ ਲਿਖਿਓ ਲੇਖੁ ਮਥਾਮਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
bha-ay achint tarisan sabh bujhee hai ih likhi-o laykh mathaamaa. ||1|| rahaa-o.
I have become carefree, all my yearning for the love for Maya has been quenched because this was my preordained destiny. ||1||Pause||
ਮੈਂ ਬੇ-ਫ਼ਿਕਰ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹਾਂ, (ਮੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ) ਸਾਰੀ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ) ਤ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨਾ ਮਿਟ ਗਈ ਹੈ (ਧੁਰ ਦਰਗਾਹ ਤੋਂ ਹੀ) ਇਹ (ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤੀ ਦਾ) ਲੇਖ ਮੱਥੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਖੋਜਤ ਖੋਜਤ ਭਇਓ ਬੈਰਾਗੀ ਫਿਰਿ ਆਇਓ ਦੇਹ ਗਿਰਾਮਾ ॥
khojat khojat bha-i-o bairaagee fir aa-i-o dayh giraamaa.
Searching again and again, I became detached; I wandered all around and finally came back to my body.
ਭਾਲ ਕਰਦਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਮੈਂ ਤਾਂ ਵੈਰਾਗੀ ਹੀ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਸਾਂ, ਆਖ਼ਿਰ ਭਟਕ ਭਟਕ ਕੇ (ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ) ਮੈਂ ਸਰੀਰ-ਪਿੰਡ ਵਿਚ ਆ ਪਹੁੰਚਿਆ।
ਗੁਰਿ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲਿ ਸਉਦਾ ਇਹੁ ਜੋਰਿਓ ਹਥਿ ਚਰਿਓ ਲਾਲੁ ਅਗਾਮਾ ॥੧॥
gur kirpaal sa-udaa ih jori-o hath chari-o laal agaamaa. ||1||
The merciful Guru helped me and I found the priceless Name of God within my body. ||1||
ਕਿਰਪਾਲ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਵਣਜ ਕਰਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਕਿ (ਸਰੀਰ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਹੀ) ਮੈਨੂੰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਅਮੋਲਕ ਲਾਲ ਮਿਲ ਗਿਆ ॥੧
ਆਨ ਬਾਪਾਰ ਬਨਜ ਜੋ ਕਰੀਅਹਿ ਤੇਤੇ ਦੂਖ ਸਹਾਮਾ ॥
aan baapaar banaj jo karee-ah taytay dookh sahaamaa.
(Except for God’s Name) all other deals and trades (worldly deeds) which we do, they all become the cause of our sorrows.
(ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ) ਹੋਰ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਭੀ ਵਣਜ ਵਪਾਰ ਕਰੀਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਦੁੱਖ ਸਹਾਰਨ (ਦਾ ਸਬਬ ਬਣਦੇ ਹਨ)।
ਗੋਬਿਦ ਭਜਨ ਕੇ ਨਿਰਭੈ ਵਾਪਾਰੀ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਸਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮਾ ॥੨॥੧੨॥੩੫॥
gobid bhajan kay nirbhai vaapaaree har raas naanak raam naamaa. ||2||12||35||
O’ Nanak, those who sing God’s praises remain free of worldly fears, because the wealth of God’s Name remains with them. ||2||12||35||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਭਜਨ ਦੇ ਵਪਾਰੀ ਬੰਦੇ (ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦੇ) ਡਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਚੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਾਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਸਰਮਾਇਆ ਟਿਕਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥੧੨॥੩੫॥

ਮੇਰੈ ਮਨਿ ਮਿਸਟ ਲਗੇ ਪ੍ਰਿਅ ਬੋਲਾ ॥
mayrai man misat lagay pari-a bolaa.
O’ brother, now the words of God’s praises seem sweet to my mind,
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਹੁਣ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੇ ਬਚਨ ਮਿੱਠੇ ਲੱਗ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ।
ਗੁਰਿ ਬਾਹ ਪਕਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸੇਵਾ ਲਾਏ ਸਦ ਦਇਆਲੁ ਹਰਿ ਢੋਲਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
gur baah pakar parabh sayvaa laa-ay sad da-i-aal har dholaa. ||1|| rahaa-o.
because the Guru has united me to the devotional worship of God, and now I have understood that the beloved God is always merciful. ||1||Pause||
ਕਿਉਂਕੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਬਾਂਹ ਫੜ ਕੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ-ਭਗਤੀ ਵਿਚ ਲਾਇਆ ਹੈ, (ਹੁਣ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਇਉਂ ਸਮਝ ਆ ਗਈ ਹੈ ਕਿ) ਪਿਆਰਾ ਹਰੀ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਦਇਆਲੂ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਤੂ ਠਾਕੁਰੁ ਸਰਬ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਲਕੁ ਮੋਹਿ ਕਲਤ੍ਰ ਸਹਿਤ ਸਭਿ ਗੋਲਾ ॥
parabh too thaakur sarab partipaalak mohi kaltar sahit sabh golaa.
O’ God, You are the Master and Sustainer of all; along with my family, I am Your devotee.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੂੰ (ਸਾਡਾ) ਮਾਲਕ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦਾ ਪਾਲਣਹਾਰ ਹੈਂ। ਮੈਂ (ਆਪਣੀ) ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ (ਪਰਵਾਰ) ਸਮੇਤ-ਅਸੀਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਗ਼ੁਲਾਮ ਹਾਂ।
ਮਾਣੁ ਤਾਣੁ ਸਭੁ ਤੂਹੈ ਤੂਹੈ ਇਕੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਤੇਰਾ ਮੈ ਓਲ੍ਹ੍ਹਾ ॥੧॥
maan taan sabh toohai toohai ik naam tayraa mai olHaa. ||1||
You alone are my pride and honor, and Your Name alone is my support. ||1||
ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਾਣ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਮੇਰਾ ਤਾਣ ਹੈਂ। ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਹੀ ਮੇਰਾ ਸਹਾਰਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਜੇ ਤਖਤਿ ਬੈਸਾਲਹਿ ਤਉ ਦਾਸ ਤੁਮ੍ਹ੍ਹਾਰੇ ਘਾਸੁ ਬਢਾਵਹਿ ਕੇਤਕ ਬੋਲਾ ॥
jay takhat baisaaleh ta-o daas tumHaaray ghaas badhaaveh kaytak bolaa.
If You make me sit on a throne, I still would remain Your devotee, and I will have no objection even if You make me a grass cutter?
ਜੇ ਤੂੰ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਤਖ਼ਤ ਉੱਤੇ ਬਿਠਾ ਦੇਵੇਂ, ਤਾਂ ਭੀ ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰਾ ਦਾਸ ਹਾਂ, ਜੇ ਤੂੰ (ਮੈਨੂੰ ਘਾਹੀ ਬਣਾ ਕੇ ਮੈਥੋਂ) ਘਾਹ ਵਢਾਏਂ, ਤਾਂ ਭੀ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਇਤਰਾਜ਼ ਨਹੀਂ।
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਪੁਰਖ ਬਿਧਾਤੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਅਗਹ ਅਤੋਲਾ ॥੨॥੧੩॥੩੬॥
jan naanak kay parabh purakh biDhaatay mayray thaakur agah atolaa. ||2||13||36||
O’ devotee Nanak’s all pervading God! You are my Master, the unfathomable creator, Your worth cannot be estimated. ||2||13||36||
ਹੇ ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਹੇ ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ! ਹੇ ਰਚਨਹਾਰ! ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਅਥਾਹ ਤੇ ਅਤੋਲ ਠਾਕੁਰ! ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ॥੨॥੧੩॥੩੬॥

Raag Sarang, Fifth Guru:
ਰਸਨਾ ਰਾਮ ਕਹਤ ਗੁਣ ਸੋਹੰ ॥
rasnaa raam kahat gun sohaN.
The tongue looks beautiful while uttering God’s praises.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਉਚਾਰਦਿਆਂ ਜੀਭ ਸੋਹਣੀ ਲੱਗਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਏਕ ਨਿਮਖ ਓਪਾਇ ਸਮਾਵੈ ਦੇਖਿ ਚਰਿਤ ਮਨ ਮੋਹੰ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ayk nimakh opaa-ay samaavai daykh charit man mohaN. ||1|| rahaa-o.
God can create (the universe) and absorbs it back into Him in an instant; one’s mind is captivated seeing His wonders. ||1||Pause||
ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਅੱਖ ਝਮਕਣ ਜਿਤਨੇ ਸਮੇ ਵਿਚ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ (ਮੁੜ ਆਪਣੇ ਵਿਚ ਜਗਤ ਨੂੰ) ਲੀਨ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਦੇ ਚੋਜ-ਤਮਾਸ਼ੇ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਮਨ ਮੋਹਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਜਿਸੁ ਸੁਣਿਐ ਮਨਿ ਹੋਇ ਰਹਸੁ ਅਤਿ ਰਿਦੈ ਮਾਨ ਦੁਖ ਜੋਹੰ ॥
jis suni-ai man ho-ay rahas at ridai maan dukh johaN.
(O’ God, You are such that), by listening whose Name, extreme bliss wells up in the mind, and the arrogance of heart and sorrows vanish.
(ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੂੰ ਐਸਾ ਹੈਂ) ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸੁਣਿਆਂ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਬਹੁਤ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ੀ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਹਿਰਦੇ ਦਾ ਹੰਕਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਦੁੱਖਾਂ ਦਾ ਨਾਸ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਓ ਦੁਖੁ ਦੂਰਿ ਪਰਾਇਓ ਬਣਿ ਆਈ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਤੋਹੰ ॥੧॥
sukh paa-i-o dukh door paraa-i-o ban aa-ee parabh tohaN. ||1||
O’ God, one who gets imbued with Your love, he receives inner peace and his sorrow goes away. ||1||
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦਾ ਸਾਰਾ ਦੁੱਖ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖ ਮਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਕਿਲਵਿਖ ਗਏ ਮਨ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ ਗੁਰਿ ਕਾਢੇ ਮਾਇਆ ਦ੍ਰੋਹੰ ॥
kilvikh ga-ay man nirmal ho-ee hai gur kaadhay maa-i-aa darohaN.
One whose deceits for the sake of Maya have been driven out by the Guru, all his sins have vanished and his mind has become immaculate.
ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਛਲ ਕੱਢ ਦਿੱਤੇ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਪਾਪ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਗਏ, ਉਸ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ।
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਮੈ ਸੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਕਰਣ ਕਾਰਣ ਸਮਰਥੋਹੰ ॥੨॥੧੪॥੩੭॥
kaho naanak mai so parabh paa-i-aa karan kaaran samrathohaN. ||2||14||37||
O’ Nanak! say, I have realized God who is the creator of the universe and all powerful to cause anything to happen. ||2||14||37||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ ਆਖ, ਮੈਂ ਉਹ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਲੱਭ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਜਗਤ ਦਾ ਮੂਲ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਤਾਕਤਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੈ ॥੨॥੧੪॥੩੭॥

ਨੈਨਹੁ ਦੇਖਿਓ ਚਲਤੁ ਤਮਾਸਾ ॥
nainhu daykhi-o chalat tamaasaa.
I have seen with my own eyes the wonderful play (of God),
ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੀ ਅੱਖੀਂ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਅਜਬ) ਕੌਤਕ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਹੈ (ਅਜਬ) ਤਮਾਸ਼ਾ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਸਭ ਹੂ ਦੂਰਿ ਸਭ ਹੂ ਤੇ ਨੇਰੈ ਅਗਮ ਅਗਮ ਘਟ ਵਾਸਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
sabh hoo door sabh hoo tay nayrai agam agam ghat vaasaa. ||1|| rahaa-o.
He is away from all and yet near to all, He dwells in each and every heart and yet is incomprehensible. ||1||Pause||
ਉਹ ਸਭਨਾਂ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਦੂਰ ਹੈ, ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਨੇੜੇ, ਉਹ ਅਪਹੁੰਚ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਉਂਞ ਸਭ ਸਰੀਰਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਨਿਵਾਸ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਅਭੂਲੁ ਨ ਭੂਲੈ ਲਿਖਿਓ ਨ ਚਲਾਵੈ ਮਤਾ ਨ ਕਰੈ ਪਚਾਸਾ ॥
abhool na bhoolai likhi-o na chalaavai mataa na karai pachaasaa.
The infallible God never makes a mistake, neither He administers any written orders nor He consults with anyone.
ਅਭੂਲੁ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਕਦੇ ਕੋਈ ਗ਼ਲਤੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ, ਨਾਹ ਉਹ ਕੋਈ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੁਕਮ ਚਲਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਨਾਹ ਉਹ ਬਹੁਤੀਆਂ ਸਲਾਹਾਂ ਹੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਖਿਨ ਮਹਿ ਸਾਜਿ ਸਵਾਰਿ ਬਿਨਾਹੈ ਭਗਤਿ ਵਛਲ ਗੁਣਤਾਸਾ ॥੧॥
khin meh saaj savaar binaahai bhagat vachhal guntaasaa. ||1||
In an instant, He creates, embellishes and destroys; He is the lover of devotional worship and the treasure of virtues.||1||
ਉਹ ਤਾਂ ਇਕ ਖਿਨ ਵਿਚ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਸੋਹਣਾ ਬਣਾ ਕੇ (ਖਿਨ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ) ਨਾਸ ਕਰ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਭਗਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ (ਬੇਅੰਤ) ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਅੰਧ ਕੂਪ ਮਹਿ ਦੀਪਕੁ ਬਲਿਓ ਗੁਰਿ ਰਿਦੈ ਕੀਓ ਪਰਗਾਸਾ ॥

One whose heart is enlightened with Naam by the Guru, he feels as if a lamp is lighted in the dark deep pit of ignorance.
ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ (ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ) ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਚਾਨਣ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ (ਉੱਥੇ, ਮਾਨੋ) ਘੁੱਪ ਹਨੇਰੇ ਵਾਲੇ ਖੂਹ ਵਿਚ ਦੀਵਾ ਬਲ ਪਿਆ।
