ਰਾਮੁ ਰਾਜਾ ਨਉ ਨਿਧਿ ਮੇਰੈ ॥
raam raajaa na-o niDh mayrai.
O’ my friend, the Almighty is like the nine treasures of the world for me,
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ, ਮੇਰੇ ਲਈ ਤਾਂ ਜਗਤ ਦੇ ਮਾਲਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਹੀ ਜਗਤ ਦਾ ਸਾਰਾ ਧਨ-ਮਾਲ ਹੈ
ਸੰਪੈ ਹੇਤੁ ਕਲਤੁ ਧਨੁ ਤੇਰੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
sampai hayt kalat Dhan tayrai. ||1|| rahaa-o.
but for you, the love of your possessions, wife and worldly wealth are the support of life. ||1||Pause||
ਪਰ ਤੇਰੇ ਭਾਣੇ ਜਾਇਦਾਦ ਦਾ ਮੋਹ, ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਧਨ-(ਇਹੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਦਾ ਸਹਾਰਾ ਹਨ) ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਆਵਤ ਸੰਗ ਨ ਜਾਤ ਸੰਗਾਤੀ ॥
aavat sang na jaat sangaatee.
O’ brother, even this body which came with you, it would not accompany you when you depart from this world.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ, (ਇਹ ਅਪਣਾ ਸਰੀਰ ਭੀ) ਜੋ ਜਨਮ ਵੇਲੇ ਨਾਲ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ (ਤੁਰਨ ਵੇਲੇ) ਨਾਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਂਦਾ।
ਕਹਾ ਭਇਓ ਦਰਿ ਬਾਂਧੇ ਹਾਥੀ ॥੨॥
kahaa bha-i-o dar baaNDhay haathee. ||2||
So, what is the big deal even if you have elephants (expensive things) in your possession? ||2||
(ਫਿਰ) ਜੇ ਬੂਹੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਹਾਥੀ ਬੱਝੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ, ਤਾਂ ਭੀ ਕੀਹ ਹੋਇਆ ॥੨॥
ਲੰਕਾ ਗਢੁ ਸੋਨੇ ਕਾ ਭਇਆ ॥
lankaa gadh sonay kaa bha-i-aa.
(People say, that) the fort of Lanka was built with gold,
(ਲੋਕ ਆਖਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ) ਲੰਕਾ ਦਾ ਕਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਸੋਨੇ ਦਾ ਬਣਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ,
ਮੂਰਖੁ ਰਾਵਨੁ ਕਿਆ ਲੇ ਗਇਆ ॥੩॥
moorakh raavan ki-aa lay ga-i-aa. ||3||
but what did the foolish Raawan take with him when he died? ||3||
ਪਰ ਮੂਰਖ ਰਾਵਣ (ਮਰਨ ਵੇਲੇ) ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਲ ਕੀ ਲੈ ਗਿਆ? ॥੩॥
ਕਹਿ ਕਬੀਰ ਕਿਛੁ ਗੁਨੁ ਬੀਚਾਰਿ ॥
kahi kabeer kichh gun beechaar.
Kabir says, reflect on doing some good deeds,
ਕਬੀਰ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਕੋਈ ਭਲਿਆਈ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਭੀ ਵਿਚਾਰ,
ਚਲੇ ਜੁਆਰੀ ਦੁਇ ਹਥ ਝਾਰਿ ॥੪॥੨॥
chalay ju-aaree du-ay hath jhaar. ||4||2||
because one who spends his life only in enjoying worldly pleasures, departs empty handed like a gambler who has lost everything. ||4||2||
(ਕਿਉਂਕੇ ਧਨ ਉੱਤੇ ਮਾਣ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਬੰਦਾ) ਜੁਆਰੀਏ ਵਾਂਗ (ਜਗਤ ਤੋਂ) ਖ਼ਾਲੀ-ਹੱਥ ਤੁਰ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੪॥੨॥
ਮੈਲਾ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਮੈਲਾ ਇੰਦੁ ॥
mailaa barahmaa mailaa ind.
The god Brahma and the god Indra, both are sinners because they had evil intention
ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਭੀ ਮੈਲਾ ਹੈ (ਜਗਤ ਦਾ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਮਿਥਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ), ਇੰਦਰ ਭੀ ਮੈਲਾ ਹੈ ( ਉਹ ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਰਾਜਾ ਮਿਥਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ)।
ਰਵਿ ਮੈਲਾ ਮੈਲਾ ਹੈ ਚੰਦੁ ॥੧॥
rav mailaa mailaa hai chand. ||1||
The Sun and the Moon despite being sources of light for the universe are also considered sinners because they helped Indra to perform nefarious act. ||1||
(ਦੁਨੀਆ ਨੂੰ ਚਾਨਣ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੇ) ਸੂਰਜ ਤੇ ਚੰਦ੍ਰਮਾ ਭੀ ਮੈਲੇ ਹਨ ॥੧॥
ਮੈਲਾ ਮਲਤਾ ਇਹੁ ਸੰਸਾਰੁ ॥
mailaa maltaa ih sansaar.
O’ my friends, this entire world is sinner,
ਇਹ (ਸਾਰਾ) ਸੰਸਾਰ ਮੈਲਾ ਹੈ, ਮਲੀਨ ਹੈ,
ਇਕੁ ਹਰਿ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਜਾ ਕਾ ਅੰਤੁ ਨ ਪਾਰੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ik har nirmal jaa kaa ant na paar. ||1|| rahaa-o.
only the God is Immaculate with no discernible end or limitation. ||1||Pause||
ਕੇਵਲ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਹੀ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਅੰਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ, ਪਾਰਲਾ ਬੰਨਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੱਭ ਸਕਦਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਮੈਲੇ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੰਡਾਇ ਕੈ ਈਸ ॥
mailay barahmandaa-i kai ees.
Even the kings of worlds are sinners.
ਬ੍ਰਹਿਮੰਡਾਂ ਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ (ਭੀ ਹੋ ਜਾਣ ਤਾਂ ਭੀ) ਮੈਲੇ ਹਨ;
ਮੈਲੇ ਨਿਸਿ ਬਾਸੁਰ ਦਿਨ ਤੀਸ ॥੨॥
mailay nis baasur din tees. ||2||
Nights and days, and the thirty days of the month are all polluted because of the vicious deeds of the numerous living beings. ||2||
ਰਾਤ ਦਿਨ, ਮਹੀਨੇ ਦੇ ਤ੍ਰੀਹੇ ਦਿਨ ਸਭ ਮੈਲੇ ਹਨ (ਬੇਅੰਤ ਜੀਅ-ਜੰਤ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੈਲਾ ਕਰੀ ਜਾ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ) ॥੨॥
ਮੈਲਾ ਮੋਤੀ ਮੈਲਾ ਹੀਰੁ ॥
mailaa motee mailaa heer.
Even the precious pearl and diamond are impure because they adorn evil people,
(ਇਤਨੇ ਕੀਮਤੀ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਭੀ) ਮੋਤੀ ਤੇ ਹੀਰੇ ਭੀ ਮੈਲੇ ਹਨ,
ਮੈਲਾ ਪਉਨੁ ਪਾਵਕੁ ਅਰੁ ਨੀਰੁ ॥੩॥
mailaa pa-un paavak ar neer. ||3||
the air, fire and water are also unclean. ||3||
ਹਵਾ, ਅੱਗ ਤੇ ਪਾਣੀ ਭੀ ਮੈਲੇ ਹਨ ॥੩॥
ਮੈਲੇ ਸਿਵ ਸੰਕਰਾ ਮਹੇਸ ॥
mailay siv sankraa mahays.
Impure are the gods like Shiva, Shankar and Mahesh,
ਸ਼ਿਵ-ਸ਼ੰਕਰ-ਮਹੇਸ਼ ਭੀ ਮੈਲੇ ਹਨ (ਭਾਵੇਂ ਇਹ ਵੱਡੇ ਦੇਵਤੇ ਮਿਥੇ ਗਏ ਹਨ)।
ਮੈਲੇ ਸਿਧ ਸਾਧਿਕ ਅਰੁ ਭੇਖ ॥੪॥
mailay siDh saaDhik ar bhaykh. ||4||
The Siddhas, seekers and those who wear religious robes are sinners. ||4||
ਸਿੱਧ, ਸਾਧਕ ਤੇ ਭੇਖਧਾਰੀ ਸਾਧੂ ਸਭ ਮੈਲੇ ਹਨ ॥੪॥
ਮੈਲੇ ਜੋਗੀ ਜੰਗਮ ਜਟਾ ਸਹੇਤਿ ॥
mailay jogee jangam jataa sahayt.
The Yogis and wandering hermits with their matted hair are sinners.
ਜੋਗੀ, ਜੰਗਮ, ਜਟਾਧਾਰੀ ਸਭ ਅਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਹਨ;
ਮੈਲੀ ਕਾਇਆ ਹੰਸ ਸਮੇਤਿ ॥੫॥
mailee kaa-i-aa hans samayt. ||5||
This body along with the soul in the body is impure too. ||5||
ਇਹ ਸਰੀਰ ਭੀ ਮੈਲਾ ਤੇ ਜੀਵਾਤਮਾ ਭੀ ਮੈਲਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਪਿਆ ਹੈ ॥੫॥
ਕਹਿ ਕਬੀਰ ਤੇ ਜਨ ਪਰਵਾਨ ॥ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਤੇ ਜੋ ਰਾਮਹਿ ਜਾਨ ॥੬॥੩॥
kahi kabeer tay jan parvaan. nirmal tay jo raameh jaan. ||6||3||
Kabir says, only those persons who lovingly remember God are immaculate and approved in God’s presence. ||6||3||
ਕਬੀਰ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ , ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਂਝ ਪਾਈ ਹੈ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਹਨ ਤੇ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਦਰ ਤੇ) ਕਬੂਲ ਹਨ, ॥੬॥੩॥
ਮਨੁ ਕਰਿ ਮਕਾ ਕਿਬਲਾ ਕਰਿ ਦੇਹੀ ॥
man kar makaa kiblaa kar dayhee.
O’ Mullah, make your mind the Mecca and your body as the Kiblah (kaaba),
ਹੇ ਮੁੱਲਾਂ! ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਮੱਕਾ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਰੀਰ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਬਲਾ ਬਣਾ।
ਬੋਲਨਹਾਰੁ ਪਰਮ ਗੁਰੁ ਏਹੀ ॥੧॥
bolanhaar param gur ayhee. ||1||
and consider the soul speaking within it as the prime Guru or prophet. ||1||
ਬੋਲਣਹਾਰ ਜੀਵਾਤਮਾ ਹੀ ਪਰਮ ਗੁਰ (ਇਮਾਮ) ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਕਹੁ ਰੇ ਮੁਲਾਂ ਬਾਂਗ ਨਿਵਾਜ ॥ ਏਕ ਮਸੀਤਿ ਦਸੈ ਦਰਵਾਜ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
kaho ray mulaaN baaNg nivaaj. ayk maseet dasai darvaaj. ||1|| rahaa-o.
O’ Mullah, this body with ten doors (eyes, ears, nose etc) is the real mosque, give the call for prayer and say your prayer from this mosque. ||1||Pause||
ਹੇ ਮੁੱਲਾਂ! ਇਹ ਦਸ ਦਰਵਾਜ਼ਿਆਂ ਵਾਲਾ ਸਰੀਰ ਹੀ ਅਸਲ ਮਸੀਤ ਹੈ,ਇਸ ਮਸੀਤ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕ ਕੇ ਬਾਂਗ ਦੇਹ ਤੇ ਨਿਮਾਜ਼ ਪੜ੍ਹ, ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਮਿਸਿਮਿਲਿ ਤਾਮਸੁ ਭਰਮੁ ਕਦੂਰੀ ॥
misimil taamas bharam kadooree.
O’ Mullah, instead of killing (sacrificing) an animal, kill your anger, doubt, and evil thoughts,
(ਹੇ ਮੁੱਲਾਂ! ਪਸ਼ੂ ਦੀ ਕੁਰਬਾਨੀ ਦੇਣ ਦੇ ਥਾਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ) ਕ੍ਰੋਧੀ ਸੁਭਾਉ, ਭਟਕਣਾ ਤੇ ਕਦੂਰਤ (ਮਨ ਦੀ ਮੈਲ) ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ,
ਭਾਖਿ ਲੇ ਪੰਚੈ ਹੋਇ ਸਬੂਰੀ ॥੨॥
bhaakh lay panchai ho-ay sabooree. ||2||
and eradicate your five vices (lust, anger, greed, attachment, ego), contentment would well up within your mind. ||2||
ਅਤੇ ਕਾਮਾਦਿਕ ਪੰਜਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੁਕਾ ਦੇਹ, ਤੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ ॥੨॥
ਹਿੰਦੂ ਤੁਰਕ ਕਾ ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਏਕ ॥
hindoo turak kaa saahib ayk.
The Master of both Hindus and Muslims is the same one God.
ਹਿੰਦੂ ਤੇ ਮੁਸਲਮਾਨ ਦੋਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਹੈ।
ਕਹ ਕਰੈ ਮੁਲਾਂ ਕਹ ਕਰੈ ਸੇਖ ॥੩॥
kah karai mulaaN kah karai saykh. ||3||
By being a Mullah or a Sheikh, you will not receive special favors in God’s presence. ||3||
ਮੁੱਲਾਂ ਜਾਂ ਸ਼ੇਖ਼ (ਬਣਿਆਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਹਜ਼ੂਰੀ ਵਿਚ) ਕੋਈ ਖ਼ਾਸ ਵੱਡਾ ਮਰਾਤਬਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲ ਜਾਂਦਾ ॥੩॥
ਕਹਿ ਕਬੀਰ ਹਉ ਭਇਆ ਦਿਵਾਨਾ ॥
kahi kabeer ha-o bha-i-aa divaanaa.
Kabeer says, people might think that I have gone insane,
ਕਬੀਰ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ, ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਭਾਣੇ ਮੈਂ ਪਾਗਲ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹਾਂ,
ਮੁਸਿ ਮੁਸਿ ਮਨੂਆ ਸਹਜਿ ਸਮਾਨਾ ॥੪॥੪॥
mus mus manoo-aa sahj samaanaa. ||4||4||
but I am merged in God by killing the worldly desires of my mind. ||4||4||
ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਮਾਰ ਕੇ ਮੈਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਅੰਦਰ ਲੀਨ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹਾਂ ॥੪॥੪॥
ਗੰਗਾ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਸਲਿਤਾ ਬਿਗਰੀ ॥ ਸੋ ਸਲਿਤਾ ਗੰਗਾ ਹੋਇ ਨਿਬਰੀ ॥੧॥
gangaa kai sang salitaa bigree. so salitaa gangaa ho-ay nibree. ||1||
The water of an ordinary river changes after joining the Ganges; in fact losing its identity that stream becomes the holy Ganges itself ||1||
ਆਮ ਨਦੀ ਦਾ ਪਾਣੀ ਗੰਗਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਹੋਰ ਰੂਪ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਨਦੀ ਆਪਣਾ ਆਪ ਮੁਕਾ ਕੇ ਗੰਗਾ ਦਾ ਰੂਪ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਬਿਗਰਿਓ ਕਬੀਰਾ ਰਾਮ ਦੁਹਾਈ ॥
bigri-o kabeeraa raam duhaa-ee.
By always remembering God with loving devotion, Kabir has changed,
ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਕਬੀਰ ਬਦਲ (ਹੋਰ ਰੂਪ ਹੋ) ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਸਾਚੁ ਭਇਓ ਅਨ ਕਤਹਿ ਨ ਜਾਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
saach bha-i-o an kateh na jaa-ee. ||1|| rahaa-o.
he has become the embodiment of the eternal God; forsaking God, he doesn’t go anywhere else. ||1||Pause||
ਰਾਮ ਦਾ ਰੂਪ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ, ਹੁਣ (ਰਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ) ਕਿਸੇ ਹੋਰ ਪਾਸੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਭਟਕਦਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਚੰਦਨ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਤਰਵਰੁ ਬਿਗਰਿਓ ॥
chandan kai sang tarvar bigri-o.
In the company of a Sandal tree, another tree nearby is changed,
(ਸਧਾਰਨ) ਰੁੱਖ ਭੀ ਚੰਦਨ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ (ਲੱਗ ਕੇ) ਵਿਗੜ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਸੋ ਤਰਵਰੁ ਚੰਦਨੁ ਹੋਇ ਨਿਬਰਿਓ ॥੨॥
so tarvar chandan ho-ay nibri-o. ||2||
but truly that tree begins to smell just like the sandalwood tree. ||2||
ਪਰ ਉਹ ਰੁੱਖ ਚੰਦਨ ਦਾ ਰੂਪ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਆਪ ਮੁਕਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਪਾਰਸ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਤਾਂਬਾ ਬਿਗਰਿਓ ॥
paaras kai sang taaNbaa bigri-o.
By coming in contact with a mythical philosopher’s stone, a piece of copper may appear to be transformed,
ਤਾਂਬਾ ਭੀ ਪਾਰਸ ਨਾਲ ਛੋਹ ਕੇ ਰੂਪ ਵਟਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਸੋ ਤਾਂਬਾ ਕੰਚਨੁ ਹੋਇ ਨਿਬਰਿਓ ॥੩॥
so taaNbaa kanchan ho-ay nibri-o. ||3||
and losing its identity that copper ends up as a piece of gold ||3||
ਤੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਆਪ ਮੁਕਾ ਕੇ ਉਹ ਤਾਂਬਾ ਸੋਨਾ ਹੀ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਸੰਤਨ ਸੰਗਿ ਕਬੀਰਾ ਬਿਗਰਿਓ ॥
santan sang kabeeraa bigri-o.
Kabir has also changed by living in the company of the Saints,
ਕਬੀਰ ਭੀ ਸੰਤਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਰਹਿ ਕੇ ਬਦਲ (ਹੋਰ ਰੂਪ ਹੋ) ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਸੋ ਕਬੀਰੁ ਰਾਮੈ ਹੋਇ ਨਿਬਰਿਓ ॥੪॥੫॥
so kabeer raamai ho-ay nibri-o. ||4||5||
and losing his individuality, kabir has become one with God. ||4||5||
ਪਰ ਇਹ ਕਬੀਰ ਹੁਣ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨਾਲ ਇੱਕ-ਮਿੱਕ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ, ਤੇ ਆਪਾ-ਭਾਵ ਮੁਕਾ ਚੁਕਿਆ ਹੈ ॥੪॥੫॥
ਮਾਥੇ ਤਿਲਕੁ ਹਥਿ ਮਾਲਾ ਬਾਨਾਂ ॥
maathay tilak hath maalaa baanaaN.
By putting a ceremonial mark on their forehead, holding a rosary in their hands, and adorning a holy garb (People think they have become God’s devotee);
(ਲੋਕ) ਮੱਥੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਤਿਲਕ ਲਾ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਹੱਥ ਵਿਚ ਮਾਲਾ ਫੜ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਧਾਰਮਿਕ ਪਹਿਰਾਵਾ ਬਣਾ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ, (ਤੇ ਸਮਝਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਭਗਤ ਬਣ ਗਏ ਹਾਂ),
ਲੋਗਨ ਰਾਮੁ ਖਿਲਉਨਾ ਜਾਨਾਂ ॥੧॥
logan raam khil-a-unaa jaanaaN. ||1||
these people have assumed God as a toy. ||1||
ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਖਿਡੌਣਾ ਸਮਝ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਜਉ ਹਉ ਬਉਰਾ ਤਉ ਰਾਮ ਤੋਰਾ ॥
ja-o ha-o ba-uraa ta-o raam toraa.
O’ God, even if I am labeled crazy, I am delighted that I am Your devotee,
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਰਾਮ! ਜੇ ਮੈਂ (ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਭਾਣੇ) ਪਾਗਲ ਹਾਂ, ਤਾਂ ਭੀ (ਮੈਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਠੰਢ ਹੈ ਕਿ) ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰਾ (ਸੇਵਕ) ਹਾਂ,
ਲੋਗੁ ਮਰਮੁ ਕਹ ਜਾਨੈ ਮੋਰਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
log maram kah jaanai moraa. ||1|| rahaa-o.
because people labeling me crazy, don’t know my inner secret. ||1||Pause||
ਦੁਨੀਆ ਭਲਾ ਮੇਰੇ ਦਿਲ ਦਾ ਭੇਤ ਕੀਹ ਜਾਣ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ? ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਤੋਰਉ ਨ ਪਾਤੀ ਪੂਜਉ ਨ ਦੇਵਾ ॥
tora-o na paatee pooja-o na dayvaa.
I do not pluck out any leaves or flowers for offerings, nor do I worship gods,
(ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਅੱਗੇ ਭੇਟ ਧਰਨ ਲਈ) ਨਾਹ ਹੀ ਮੈਂ (ਫੁੱਲ) ਪੱਤਰ ਤੋੜਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਨਾਹ ਮੈਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਦੇਵੀ ਦੇਵਤੇ ਦੀ ਪੂਜਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ,
ਰਾਮ ਭਗਤਿ ਬਿਨੁ ਨਿਹਫਲ ਸੇਵਾ ॥੨॥
raam bhagat bin nihfal sayvaa. ||2||
because beside the devotional worship of God, any other worship is futile. ||2||
ਕਿਉਂਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਬੰਦਗੀ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਹੋਰ ਕਿਸੇ ਦੀ ਪੂਜਾ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਜਉ ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਮਨਾਵਉ ॥
satgur pooja-o sadaa sadaa manaava-o.
I bow to the true Guru, follow his teaching and always try to please him.
ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਅੱਗੇ ਸਿਰ ਨਿਵਾਉਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਉਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਸਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ,
ਐਸੀ ਸੇਵ ਦਰਗਹ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਵਉ ॥੩॥
aisee sayv dargeh sukh paava-o. ||3||
And I firmly believe that by performing such service I would receive inner peace in God’s presence. ||3||
ਤੇ ਇਸ ਸੇਵਾ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਹਜ਼ੂਰੀ ਵਿਚ ਸੁਖ ਪਾਵਾਂਗਾ ॥੩॥
ਲੋਗੁ ਕਹੈ ਕਬੀਰੁ ਬਉਰਾਨਾ ॥
log kahai kabeer ba-uraanaa.
People say that Kabir has gone crazy (because he does not practice rituals),
ਲੋਕ ਆਖਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਬੀਰ ਪਾਗਲ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ (ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਹ ਉਹਨਾ ਵਾਂਗ ਪੂਜਾ ਨਹੀ ਕਰਦਾ ),
ਕਬੀਰ ਕਾ ਮਰਮੁ ਰਾਮ ਪਹਿਚਾਨਾਂ ॥੪॥੬॥
kabeer kaa maram raam pahichaanaaN. ||4||6||
but God knows the secret of Kabir’s heart. ||4||6||
ਪਰ ਕਬੀਰ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦਾ ਭੇਤ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੪॥੬॥
ਉਲਟਿ ਜਾਤਿ ਕੁਲ ਦੋਊ ਬਿਸਾਰੀ ॥
ulat jaat kul do-oo bisaaree.
Turning away my mind from the love of Maya, I have forsaken both, the caste and the lineage.
ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਇਆ ਵਲੋਂ ਉਲਟਾ ਕੇ ਮੈਂ ਜਾਤ ਤੇ ਕੁਲ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਵਿਸਾਰ ਦਿੱਤੀਆਂ ਹਨ ।
ਸੁੰਨ ਸਹਜ ਮਹਿ ਬੁਨਤ ਹਮਾਰੀ ॥੧॥
sunn sahj meh bunat hamaaree. ||1||
My mind is now in that state where no worldly thoughts arise, and it remains focused on God. ||1||
ਮੇਰੀ ਲਿਵ ਹੁਣ ਉਸ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ, ਜਿੱਥੇ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਫੁਰਨੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਨ, ਜਿੱਥੇ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਹੀ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਹਮਰਾ ਝਗਰਾ ਰਹਾ ਨ ਕੋਊ ॥
hamraa jhagraa rahaa na ko-oo.
I have no conflicts with anyone now,
ਹੁਣ ਮੇਰਾ ਕਿਸੇ ਨਾਲ ਕੋਈ ਝਗੜਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਿਹਾ,
