ਨਾਮ ਬਿਨਾ ਸਭ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਛਾਰੁ ॥੧॥
naam binaa sabh dunee-aa chhaar. ||1||
O’ God, without your Name, the entire world is like ashes.||1||.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਸਾਰੀ ਦੁਨੀਆ (ਦਾ ਧਨ-ਪਦਾਰਥ) ਸੁਆਹ ਦੇ ਤੁੱਲ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਅਚਰਜੁ ਤੇਰੀ ਕੁਦਰਤਿ ਤੇਰੇ ਕਦਮ ਸਲਾਹ ॥
achraj tayree kudrat tayray kadam salaah.
O’ God, astonishing is Your creation and praise worthy is Your Name.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੇਰੀ ਰਚੀ ਕੁਦਰਤਿ ਇਕ ਹੈਰਾਨ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਤਮਾਸ਼ਾ ਹੈ, ਤੇਰੇ ਚਰਨ ਸਲਾਹੁਣ-ਜੋਗ ਹਨ।
ਗਨੀਵ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਿਫਤਿ ਸਚੇ ਪਾਤਿਸਾਹ ॥੨॥
ganeev tayree sifat sachay paatisaah. ||2||
O’ God!, the sovereign king, Your Praise is priceless. ||2||
ਹੇ ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪਾਤਿਸ਼ਾਹ! ਤੇਰੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਅਮੋਲਕ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਨੀਧਰਿਆ ਧਰ ਪਨਹ ਖੁਦਾਇ ॥
neeDhri-aa Dhar panah khudaa-ay.
God is the support and refuge of the supportless.
ਉਹ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਿਆਸਰਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਹੈ, ਓਟ ਹੈ l
ਗਰੀਬ ਨਿਵਾਜੁ ਦਿਨੁ ਰੈਣਿ ਧਿਆਇ ॥੩॥
gareeb nivaaj din rain Dhi-aa-ay. ||3||
O’ brother, always lovingly remember God, the patronizer of the meek. ||3||
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ, ਗਰੀਬਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਣ ਬਖਸ਼ਣਹਾਰ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰ ॥੩॥
ਨਾਨਕ ਕਉ ਖੁਦਿ ਖਸਮ ਮਿਹਰਵਾਨ ॥
naanak ka-o khud khasam miharvaan.
O’ Nanak, upon whom that Master-God Himself becomes gracious,
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉੱਤੇ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਦਇਆਵਾਨ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਅਲਹੁ ਨ ਵਿਸਰੈ ਦਿਲ ਜੀਅ ਪਰਾਨ ॥੪॥੧੦॥
alhu na visrai dil jee-a paraan. ||4||10||
God is never forgotten from that person’s heart, life and breaths.||4||10||.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਜਿੰਦ ਤੋਂ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਤੋਂ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਣਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਉਹ ਕਦੇ ਭੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਵਿਸਰਦਾ ॥੪॥੧੦॥

ਸਾਚ ਪਦਾਰਥੁ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਲਹਹੁ ॥
saach padaarath gurmukh lahhu.
O’ brother, follow the Guru’s teachings and receive the everlasting wealth of God’s Name,
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਧਨ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰੋ।
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਾ ਭਾਣਾ ਸਤਿ ਕਰਿ ਸਹਹੁ ॥੧॥
parabh kaa bhaanaa sat kar sahhu. ||1||
and accept God’s will as eternal and good for you.||1||.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਵਲੋਂ ਵਰਤੀ ਰਜ਼ਾ ਨੂੰ (ਆਪਣੇ) ਭਲੇ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਜਾਣ ਕੇ ਸਹਾਰੋ ॥੧॥
ਜੀਵਤ ਜੀਵਤ ਜੀਵਤ ਰਹਹੁ ॥
jeevat jeevat jeevat rahhu.
O’ brother, live a spiritual life forever,
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਸਦਾ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਬਣੇ ਰਹੋ,
ਰਾਮ ਰਸਾਇਣੁ ਨਿਤ ਉਠਿ ਪੀਵਹੁ ॥
raam rasaa-in nit uth peevhu.
by getting up early each day and lovingly remember God as if you are drinking the sublime elixir of God’s Name,
ਸਦਾ ਆਹਰ ਨਾਲ ਸਭ ਰਸਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਸ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਟ ਨਾਮ-ਰਸ ਪੀਂਦੇ ਰਹੋ,
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਰਸਨਾ ਕਹਹੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
har har har har rasnaa kahhu. ||1|| rahaa-o||
and by always uttering God’s Name with your tongue.
ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਆਪਣੀ ਜੀਭ ਨਾਲ ਉਚਾਰਦੇ ਰਹੋ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਕਲਿਜੁਗ ਮਹਿ ਇਕ ਨਾਮਿ ਉਧਾਰੁ ॥ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਬੋਲੈ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਬੀਚਾਰੁ ॥੨॥੧੧॥
kalijug meh ik naam uDhaar. naanak bolai barahm beechaar. ||2||11||
Nanak says this divine truth that the world ocean of vices can be crossed over only through God’s Name. ||2||11|
ਨਾਨਕ ਇਹ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਵੀਚਾਰ ਬੋਲਦਾ ਹੈ ਕੇ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਹੀ ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਰ-ਉਤਾਰਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥੧੧॥

Raag Bhairao, Fifth Guru:
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸੇਵਿ ਸਰਬ ਫਲ ਪਾਏ ॥
satgur sayv sarab fal paa-ay.
By serving the true Guru, one receives all the fruits of one desires,
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ ਮਨੂੰਖ ਸਾਰੇ ਫਲ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਜਨਮ ਜਨਮ ਕੀ ਮੈਲੁ ਮਿਟਾਏ ॥੧॥
janam janam kee mail mitaa-ay. ||1||
and gets rid of the filth of sins of many lifetimes.||1||
(ਤੇ, ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ) ਜਨਮਾਂ ਜਨਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਮੈਲ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਪਤਿਤ ਪਾਵਨ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਤੇਰੋ ਨਾਉ ॥
patit paavan parabh tayro naa-o.
O’ God! Your Name is the redeemer of sinners,
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ।
ਪੂਰਬਿ ਕਰਮ ਲਿਖੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਉ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
poorab karam likhay gun gaa-o. ||1|| rahaa-o.
but only that person, who is preordained based on his past deeds, sings Your praises. ||1||Pause||
ਪਰ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਪੂਰਬਲੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਲੇਖਾਂ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਇਹ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤੀ ਲਿਖੀ ਹੈ, ਉਹੀ ਤੇਰੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਉਦਾਂ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਸਾਧੂ ਸੰਗਿ ਹੋਵੈ ਉਧਾਰੁ ॥
saaDhoo sang hovai uDhaar.
One crosses over the world-ocean of vices by remaining in the company of the Guru,
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਰਿਹਾਂ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਰ-ਉਤਾਰਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਸੋਭਾ ਪਾਵੈ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੈ ਦੁਆਰ ॥੨॥
sobhaa paavai parabh kai du-aar. ||2||
and receives honor in God’s presence.||2||
ਅਤੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਦਰ ਤੇ ਸੋਭਾ ਖੱਟਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਸਰਬ ਕਲਿਆਣ ਚਰਣ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸੇਵਾ ॥
sarab kali-aan charan parabh sayvaa
One who lovingly remembers God’s Name, receives all kinds of comforts,
ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ-ਭਗਤੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਸਨੂੰ ਸਾਰੇ ਸੁਖ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ,
ਧੂਰਿ ਬਾਛਹਿ ਸਭਿ ਸੁਰਿ ਨਰ ਦੇਵਾ ॥੩॥
Dhoor baachheh sabh sur nar dayvaa. ||3||
and the angels and gods long for his feet’s dust (humble service). ||3||
ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਧੂੜ ਸਾਰੇ ਦੇਵਤੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਦੈਵੀ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਲੋੜਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੩॥
ਨਾਨਕ ਪਾਇਆ ਨਾਮ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ॥
naanak paa-i-aa naam niDhaan.
O’ Nanak, the treasure of Naam is received (by following the Guru’s teachings),
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਵਿਚ ਰਹਿ ਕੇ) ਨਾਮ-ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਮਿਲ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਹਰਿ ਜਪਿ ਜਪਿ ਉਧਰਿਆ ਸਗਲ ਜਹਾਨੁ ॥੪॥੧੨॥
har jap jap uDhri-aa sagal jahaan. ||4||12||
and the entire world crosses over the worldly ocean of vices by remembering God with adoration. ||4||12||
ਅਤੇ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਜਪ ਜਪ ਕੇ ਸਾਰਾ ਜਗਤ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੪॥੧੨॥

ਅਪਣੇ ਦਾਸ ਕਉ ਕੰਠਿ ਲਗਾਵੈ ॥
apnay daas ka-o kanth lagaavai.
God always keeps His devotee very close to Him (in His protection).
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਨੂੰ ਸਦਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਗਲ ਨਾਲ ਲਾਈ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਨਿੰਦਕ ਕਉ ਅਗਨਿ ਮਹਿ ਪਾਵੈ ॥੧॥
nindak ka-o agan meh paavai. ||1||
and burns his slanderers in the fire of agony. ||1||
ਅਤੇ (ਆਪਣੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਦੇ) ਦੋਖੀ ਨੂੰ (ਈਰਖਾ ਦੀ ਅੰਦਰੇ-ਅੰਦਰ ਧੁਖ ਰਹੀ) ਅੱਗ ਵਿਚ ਪਾਈ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਪਾਪੀ ਤੇ ਰਾਖੇ ਨਾਰਾਇਣ ॥
paapee tay raakhay naaraa-in.
God saves His devotee from the sinner.
ਪਾਪੀ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ (ਆਪਣੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਨੂੰ ਸਦਾ ਆਪ) ਬਚਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਪਾਪੀ ਕੀ ਗਤਿ ਕਤਹੂ ਨਾਹੀ ਪਾਪੀ ਪਚਿਆ ਆਪ ਕਮਾਇਣ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
paapee kee gat kathoo naahee paapee pachi-aa aap kamaa-in. ||1|| rahaa-o.
The sinner can never achieve supreme spiritual status and is consumed by his own evil deeds.||1||pause||.
ਪਾਪੀ ਦੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਕਿਤੇ ਭੀ ਉੱਚੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ ਸਕਦੀ, ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਕਮਾਏ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਅੰਦਰੇ ਸੜਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਦਾਸ ਰਾਮ ਜੀਉ ਲਾਗੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ॥
daas raam jee-o laagee pareet.
A devotee remains imbued with the love of reverend God,
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਦੀ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਬਣੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ,
ਨਿੰਦਕ ਕੀ ਹੋਈ ਬਿਪਰੀਤਿ ॥੨॥
nindak kee ho-ee bipreet. ||2||
but the slanderer remains in love with evil thoughts and deeds.||2||.
ਪਰ ਸੇਵਕ ਦੇ ਦੋਖੀ ਦਾ (ਨਿੰਦਾ-ਈਰਖਾ ਆਦਿਕ) ਭੈੜੇ ਕੰਮਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਪਿਆਰ ਬਣਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮਿ ਅਪਣਾ ਬਿਰਦੁ ਪ੍ਰਗਟਾਇਆ ॥
paarbarahm apnaa birad paragtaa-i-aa.
The supreme God has revealed His primal tradition of saving His devotee,
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੇ (ਆਪਣੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਦੀ ਲਾਜ ਰੱਖ ਕੇ) ਆਪਣਾ ਮੁੱਢ-ਕਦੀਮਾਂ ਦਾ (ਇਹ) ਸੁਭਾਉ (ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ) ਪਰਗਟ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ,
ਦੋਖੀ ਅਪਣਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੩॥
dokhee apnaa keetaa paa-i-aa. ||3||
and the evil doer suffered the consequences of his own doing.||3||.
(ਸੇਵਕ ਦੇ) ਨਿੰਦਕ-ਦੋਖੀ ਨੇ (ਭੀ ਸਦਾ) ਆਪਣੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਮੰਦੇ ਕਰਮ ਦਾ ਫਲ ਭੁਗਤਿਆ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਆਇ ਨ ਜਾਈ ਰਹਿਆ ਸਮਾਈ ॥ ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾਸ ਹਰਿ ਕੀ ਸਰਣਾਈ ॥੪॥੧੩॥
aa-ay na jaa-ee rahi-aa samaa-ee. naanak daas har kee sarnaa-ee. ||4||13||
O’ Nanak, the devotees always remain in the refuge of God who neither takes birth, nor ever dies and who is pervading everywhere.||4||13||.
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਉਸ ਦੇ ਦਾਸ (ਸਦਾ) ਉਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪਏ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਾਹ ਜੰਮਦਾ ਹੈ ਨਾਹ ਮਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਸਭ ਥਾਈਂ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੈ ॥੪॥੧੩॥

One eternal God, realized by the grace of the True Guru:
ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਸ੍ਰੀਧਰ ਮੋਹਨ ਸਗਲ ਉਪਾਵਨ ਨਿਰੰਕਾਰ ਸੁਖਦਾਤਾ ॥
sareeDhar mohan sagal upaavan nirankaar sukh-daata.
God, the support of Lakshmi (the goddess of wealth) and the Creator of all, He is formless and the giver of comforts and inner peace;
ਲੱਛਮੀ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ , ਜਿਹੜਾ ਆਕਾਰ-ਰਹਿਤ ਹੈ, ਸਭਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਸੁਖ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ,
ਐਸਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਛੋਡਿ ਕਰਹਿ ਅਨ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਵਨ ਬਿਖਿਆ ਰਸ ਮਾਤਾ ॥੧॥
aisaa parabh chhod karahi an sayvaa kavan bikhi-aa ras maataa. ||1||
forsaking such a God, you serve and worship others: O’ my mind, in what poisonous worldly pleasures are you engrossed?||1||.
ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਤੂੰ ਹੋਰ ਹੋਰ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ-ਪੂਜਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈਂ, (ਹੇ ਮਨ!) ਤੂੰ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਕਿਹੜੇ ਸੁਆਦਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਮਸਤ ਹੈਂ? ॥੧॥
ਰੇ ਮਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਤੂ ਗੋਵਿਦ ਭਾਜੁ ॥
ray man mayray too govid bhaaj.
O’ my mind, always remember God with loving devotion,
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ! ਤੂੰ (ਸਦਾ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰ,
ਅਵਰ ਉਪਾਵ ਸਗਲ ਮੈ ਦੇਖੇ ਜੋ ਚਿਤਵੀਐ ਤਿਤੁ ਬਿਗਰਸਿ ਕਾਜੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
avar upaav sagal mai daykhay jo chitvee-ai tit bigras kaaj. ||1|| rahaa-o.
I have tried and seen the result of all other methods of worship and whatever other ways I think of, they ruin the task of life’s spiritual journey. ||1||pause||
ਹੋਰ ਸਾਰੇ ਹੀਲੇ ਕਰਕੇ ਮੈਂ ਵੇਖ ਲਏ ਹਨ, ਹੋਰ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਭੀ ਹੀਲਾ ਸੋਚਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਸ (ਹੀਲੇ) ਨਾਲ (ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦਾ) ਕੰਮ (ਸਗੋਂ) ਵਿਗੜਦਾ (ਹੀ) ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਠਾਕੁਰੁ ਛੋਡਿ ਦਾਸੀ ਕਉ ਸਿਮਰਹਿ ਮਨਮੁਖ ਅੰਧ ਅਗਿਆਨਾ ॥
thaakur chhod daasee ka-o simrahi manmukh anDh agi-aanaa.
The spiritually ignorant, self-willed persons forsaking the Master-God, always remember His servant, the Maya.
ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਤੁਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ, ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਵਿਚ ਅੰਨ੍ਹੇ ਹੋ ਚੁਕੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ, ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੀ ਸੂਝ ਤੋਂ ਸੱਖਣੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਦਾਸੀ (ਮਾਇਆ) ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਚੇਤੇ ਰੱਖਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਹਰਿ ਕੀ ਭਗਤਿ ਕਰਹਿ ਤਿਨ ਨਿੰਦਹਿ ਨਿਗੁਰੇ ਪਸੂ ਸਮਾਨਾ ॥੨॥
har kee bhagat karahi tin nindeh niguray pasoo samaanaa. ||2||
People, who slander those who perform devotional worship of God, do not follow the Guru’s teachings are like beasts. ||2||
ਜਿਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਬੰਦਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਿੰਦਦੇ ਹਨ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਨਿਗੁਰੇ ਪਸ਼ੂਆਂ ਵਰਗੇ ਹਨ ॥੨॥
ਜੀਉ ਪਿੰਡੁ ਤਨੁ ਧਨੁ ਸਭੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਾ ਸਾਕਤ ਕਹਤੇ ਮੇਰਾ ॥
jee-o pind tan Dhan sabh parabh kaa saakat kahtay mayraa.
The Soul, life, body and wealth all belong to God, but the faithless cynics claim that they own them.
ਇਹ ਜਿੰਦ ਇਹ ਸਰੀਰ ਇਹ ਧਨ-ਇਹ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਟੁੱਟੇ ਹੋਏ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਖਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਹਰੇਕ ਚੀਜ਼ ਸਾਡੀ ਹੈ।
