ਮੇਰੈ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਹੋਇ ਵਿਗਾਸੁ ਪ੍ਰਿਉ ਪ੍ਰਿਉ ਸਚੁ ਨਿਤ ਚਵਾ ਰਾਮ ॥
mayrai antar ho-ay vigaas pari-o pari-o sach nit chavaa raam.
A great delight wells up within me and I always keep reciting the Name of the eternal God with adoration.
ਮੇਰੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਖਿੜਾਉ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਮੈਂ ਸਦਾ ਉਚਾਰਦੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹਾਂ।
ਪ੍ਰਿਉ ਚਵਾ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਸਬਦਿ ਨਿਸਤਾਰੇ ਬਿਨੁ ਦੇਖੇ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਿ ਨ ਆਵਏ ॥
pari-o chavaa pi-aaray sabad nistaaray bin daykhay taripat na aav-ay.
I lovingly recite my Beloved’s Name: O’ my friend, that beloved helps to cross over the world-ocean of vices through the Guru’s word, and without visualizing Him I am not satiated.
ਹੇ ਸਖੀ! ਮੈਂ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ (ਸਦਾ) ਉਚਾਰਦੀ ਹਾਂ। ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ (ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ) ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ। (ਹੇ ਸਖੀ! ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਦਾ) ਦਰਸਨ ਕਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ (ਮਾਇਆ ਵਲੋਂ) ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦੀ।
ਸਬਦਿ ਸੀਗਾਰੁ ਹੋਵੈ ਨਿਤ ਕਾਮਣਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਵਏ ॥
sabad seegaar hovai nit kaaman har har naam Dhi-aav-ay.
The soul-bride who always remains spiritually embellished through the Guru’s word, keeps lovingly remembering God’s Name.
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਜਿਸ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਦਾ (ਆਤਮਕ) ਸਿੰਗਾਰ ਬਣਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ (ਭਾਵ, ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਹਿਰਦਾ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ) ਉਹ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਦੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਦਇਆ ਦਾਨੁ ਮੰਗਤ ਜਨ ਦੀਜੈ ਮੈ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮੁ ਦੇਹੁ ਮਿਲਾਏ ॥
da-i-aa daan mangat jan deejai mai pareetam dayh milaa-ay.
I daily plead to the Guru and say, bestow the gift of mercy to this humble devotee and unite me with the beloved God.
ਮੈਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਦਰ ਤੇ ਨਿੱਤ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰਦੀ ਹਾਂ-ਹੇ ਗੁਰੂ! ਦਇਆ ਕਰ,ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਮੰਗਤੀ ਦਾਸੀ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਦਾਨ ਦੇਹ ਕਿ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਮਿਲਾ ਦੇਹ।
ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਗੁਰੁ ਗੋਪਾਲੁ ਧਿਆਈ ਹਮ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਵਿਟਹੁ ਘੁਮਾਏ ॥੨॥
an-din gur gopaal Dhi-aa-ee ham satgur vitahu ghumaa-ay. ||2||
I wish to always remember the Divine-Guru and may I be dedicated to the true Guru for ever. ||2||
ਮੈਂ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਰੂਪ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਵਸਾਈ ਰੱਖਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਤੋਂ ਸਦਾ ਸਦਕੇ ਜਾਂਵਾਂ ॥੨॥
ਹਮ ਪਾਥਰ ਗੁਰੁ ਨਾਵ ਬਿਖੁ ਭਵਜਲੁ ਤਾਰੀਐ ਰਾਮ ॥
ham paathar gur naav bikh bhavjal taaree-ai raam.
O’ God, I have become like a stone due to my sins, ferry me across the poisonous world-ocean by uniting with the Guru who is like a boat.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੈਂ (ਪਾਪਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਭਾਰਾ ਹੋ ਚੁਕਿਆ) ਪੱਥਰ ਹਾਂ, ਗੁਰੂ ਬੇੜੀ ਹੈ। ( ਮੈਂਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪਾ ਕੇ) ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤ ਲਿਆਉਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘਾ ਲੈ।
ਗੁਰ ਦੇਵਹੁ ਸਬਦੁ ਸੁਭਾਇ ਮੈ ਮੂੜ ਨਿਸਤਾਰੀਐ ਰਾਮ ॥
gur dayvhu sabad subhaa-ay mai moorh nistaaree-ai raam.
O’ God, imbue me with Your love and ferry me, a foolish, across the worldly ocean of vices by blessing me with the Guru’s word.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿਆਰ ਵਿਚ (ਜੋੜ ਕੇ) ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੇਹ, ਅਤੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਮੂਰਖ ਨੂੰ (ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ) ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘਾ ਲੈ।
ਹਮ ਮੂੜ ਮੁਗਧ ਕਿਛੁ ਮਿਤਿ ਨਹੀ ਪਾਈ ਤੂ ਅਗੰਮੁ ਵਡ ਜਾਣਿਆ ॥
ham moorh mugaDh kichh mit nahee paa-ee too agamm vad jaani-aa.
O’ God, we, the human beings, are the ignorant fools who cannot know Your worth, but I have understood through the Guru’s teachings that You are the greatest and incomprehensible.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਅਸੀਂ ਜੀਵ ਮੂਰਖ ਹਾਂ, ਅਗਿਆਨੀ ਹਾਂ। ਤੂੰ ਕੇਡਾ ਵੱਡਾ ਹੈਂ-ਇਸ ਗੱਲ ਦੀ ਸਮਝ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੈ ਸਕਦੀ। (ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ ਹੁਣ ਇਹ) ਸਮਝਿਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਤੂੰ ਅਪਹੁੰਚ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਡਾ ਹੈਂ।
ਤੂ ਆਪਿ ਦਇਆਲੁ ਦਇਆ ਕਰਿ ਮੇਲਹਿ ਹਮ ਨਿਰਗੁਣੀ ਨਿਮਾਣਿਆ ॥
too aap da-i-aal da-i-aa kar mayleh ham nirgunee nimaani-aa.
O’ merciful God, bestow mercy on Your own and unite us, the unvirtuous and supportless ones with Yourself.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੂੰ ਦਇਆ ਦਾ ਘਰ ਹੈਂ। ਸਾਨੂੰ ਗੁਣ-ਹੀਨ ਨਿਮਾਣੇ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ (ਆਪਣੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ) ਮਿਲਾਂਦਾ ਹੈਂ।
ਅਨੇਕ ਜਨਮ ਪਾਪ ਕਰਿ ਭਰਮੇ ਹੁਣਿ ਤਉ ਸਰਣਾਗਤਿ ਆਏ ॥
anayk janam paap kar bharmay hun ta-o sarnaagat aa-ay.
By committing sins, we have been wandering for countless lifetimes, but now we have come to your refuge.
ਪਾਪ ਕਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਅਸੀਂ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਜਨਮਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਭਟਕਦੇ ਰਹੇ ਹਾਂ, ਹੁਣ (ਤੇਰੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਨਾਲ) ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਨ ਆਏ ਹਾਂ।
ਦਇਆ ਕਰਹੁ ਰਖਿ ਲੇਵਹੁ ਹਰਿ ਜੀਉ ਹਮ ਲਾਗਹ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪਾਏ ॥੩॥
da-i-aa karahu rakh layvhu har jee-o ham laagah satgur paa-ay. ||3||
O’ God, please bestow mercy and protect us so that we remain focused on the word of the true Guru. ||3||
ਹੇ ਹਰੀ ਜੀਉ! ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰੋ, ਰੱਖਿਆ ਕਰੋ ਕਿ ਅਸੀਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਚਰਨੀਂ ਲੱਗੇ ਰਹੀਏ ॥੩॥
ਗੁਰ ਪਾਰਸ ਹਮ ਲੋਹ ਮਿਲਿ ਕੰਚਨੁ ਹੋਇਆ ਰਾਮ ॥
gur paaras ham loh mil kanchan ho-i-aa raam.
Guru is like a mythical philosopher’s stone and I am like a piece of iron, but upon coming in touch with the Guru, I have become immaculate like gold.
ਗੁਰੂ ਪਾਸ ਪਾਰਸ ਹੈ ਅਸੀਂ ਜੀਵ ਲੋਹਾ ਹਾਂ, ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਛੂਹ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਮੈ, ਲੋਹਾ, ਸੋਨਾ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹਾਂ।
ਜੋਤੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਮਿਲਾਇ ਕਾਇਆ ਗੜੁ ਸੋਹਿਆ ਰਾਮ ॥
jotee jot milaa-ay kaa-i-aa garh sohi-aa raam.
By uniting my soul with God’s prime soul, the Guru has embellished my body.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਵਿਚ (ਮੇਰੀ) ਜਿੰਦ ਮਿਲਾ ਕੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਹੁਣ ਮੇਰੀ ਦੇਹ ਦਾ ਕਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਕਰ ਦਿਤਾ ਹੈ।
ਕਾਇਆ ਗੜੁ ਸੋਹਿਆ ਮੇਰੈ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਮੋਹਿਆ ਕਿਉ ਸਾਸਿ ਗਿਰਾਸਿ ਵਿਸਾਰੀਐ ॥
kaa-i-aa garh sohi-aa mayrai parabh mohi-aa ki-o saas giraas visaaree-ai.
This embellished fortress of my body has captivated my God; why should I forget Him even while breathing and eating?
ਮੇਰੀ ਦੇਹ ਦੇ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਕਿਲ੍ਹੇਨੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਨੂੰ ਮੋਹਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ। ਆਪਣੇ ਹਰ ਸੁਆਸ ਅਤੇ ਬੁਰਕੀ ਨਾਲ ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਭੁਲਾ ਸਕਦਾ|
ਅਦ੍ਰਿਸਟੁ ਅਗੋਚਰੁ ਪਕੜਿਆ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦੀ ਹਉ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀਐ ॥
adrist agochar pakrhi-aa gur sabdee ha-o satgur kai balihaaree-ai.
Through the word of the Guru, I have realized that invisible and incomprehensible God and I am dedicated to the true Guru.
ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਅਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟ ਅਗੋਚਰ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ) ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਵਸਾ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ। ਮੈਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਤੋਂ ਸਦਕੇ ਹਾਂ।
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਆਗੈ ਸੀਸੁ ਭੇਟ ਦੇਉ ਜੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸਾਚੇ ਭਾਵੈ ॥
satgur aagai sees bhayt day-o jay satgur saachay bhaavai.
I would offer my head (surrender my ego) to the true Guru, if it so pleases him.
ਜੇ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਰੂਪ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਲੱਗੇ, ਤਾਂ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣਾ ਸਿਰ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਭੇਟ ਧਰ ਦਿਆਂ।
ਆਪੇ ਦਇਆ ਕਰਹੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਦਾਤੇ ਨਾਨਕ ਅੰਕਿ ਸਮਾਵੈ ॥੪॥੧॥
aapay da-i-aa karahu parabh daatay naanak ank samaavai. ||4||1||
O’ Nanak! say, O’ beneficent God, that person upon whom You bestow mercy, merges with You. ||4||1||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਆਖ ਹੇ ਦਾਤਾਰ! ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉੱਤੇ ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਉਹ ਤੇਰੇ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੪॥੧॥

ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਅਗਮ ਅਗਾਧਿ ਅਪਰੰਪਰ ਅਪਰਪਰਾ ॥
har har agam agaaDh aprampar aparparaa.
O’ inaccessible, unfathomable, infinite, and boundless God,
ਹੇ ਅਪਹੁੰਚ ਅਥਾਹ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਅਤੇ ਪਰੇ ਤੋਂ ਪਰੇ ਹਰੀ,
ਜੋ ਤੁਮ ਧਿਆਵਹਿ ਜਗਦੀਸ ਤੇ ਜਨ ਭਉ ਬਿਖਮੁ ਤਰਾ ॥
jo tum Dhi-aavahi jagdees tay jan bha-o bikham taraa.
those who lovingly remember You, the Master of the universe, swim across the dreadful and treacherous world-ocean of vices.
ਜਿਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਤੈਨੂੰ, ਜਗਤ ਦੇ ਮਾਲਕ ਨੂੰ, ਸਿਮਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਇਸ ਔਖੇ ਤਰੇ ਜਾਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਬਿਖਮ ਭਉ ਤਿਨ ਤਰਿਆ ਸੁਹੇਲਾ ਜਿਨ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇਆ ॥
bikham bha-o tin tari-aa suhaylaa jin har har naam Dhi-aa-i-aa.
Those who lovingly remembered God’s Name, they easily crossed over the terrible and treacherous world-ocean of vices.
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੇ ਸਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਿਆ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਇਸ ਔਖੇ ਤਰੇ ਜਾਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਸੌਖੇ ਹੀ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘ ਗਏ ਹਨ।
ਗੁਰ ਵਾਕਿ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਜੋ ਭਾਇ ਚਲੇ ਤਿਨ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਆਪਿ ਮਿਲਾਇਆ ॥
gur vaak satgur jo bhaa-ay chalay tin har har aap milaa-i-aa.
Those who lovingly walked on the path shown by the true Guru’s word, God Himself united them with Him.
ਜਿਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਉਤੇ ਤੁਰ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਦੇ ਆਸਰੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਬਿਤੀਤ ਕਰਦੇ ਰਹੇ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੇ ਆਪ (ਆਪਣੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ) ਮਿਲਾ ਲਿਆ।
ਜੋਤੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਮਿਲਿ ਜੋਤਿ ਸਮਾਣੀ ਹਰਿ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰਿ ਧਰਣੀਧਰਾ ॥
jotee jot mil jot samaanee har kirpaa kar DharneeDharaa.
O’ God, the support of the earth, upon whom You bestowed mercy, their soul merged in Your Prime soul and remained merged.
ਹੇ ਧਰਤੀ ਦੇ ਆਸਰੇ ਹਰੀ! ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਤੂੰ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕੀਤੀ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਜਿੰਦ ਤੇਰੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਤੇਰੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਲੀਨ ਹੋਈ ਰਹੀ।
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਅਗਮ ਅਗਾਧਿ ਅਪਰੰਪਰ ਅਪਰਪਰਾ ॥੧॥
har har agam agaaDh aprampar aparparaa. ||1||
O’ God, You are inaccessible, unfathomable, infinite and boundless. ||1||
ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! ਆਪ ਅਪਹੁੰਚ ਅਥਾਹ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਅਤੇ ਪਰੇ ਤੋਂ ਪਰੇ ਹਰੀ ਹੋ| ॥੧॥
ਤੁਮ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਅਗਮ ਅਥਾਹ ਤੂ ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਪੂਰਿ ਰਹਿਆ ॥
tum su-aamee agam athaah too ghat ghat poor rahi-aa.
O’ the unperceivable, unfathomable God, You are pervading each and every heart.
ਹੇ ਅਪਹੁੰਚ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਹੇ ਅਥਾਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੂੰ (ਸਭ ਦਾ) ਮਾਲਕ ਹੈਂ; ਤੂੰ ਹਰੇਕ ਸਰੀਰ ਵਿਚ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੈਂ।
ਤੂ ਅਲਖ ਅਭੇਉ ਅਗੰਮੁ ਗੁਰ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਬਚਨਿ ਲਹਿਆ ॥
too alakh abhay-o agamm gur satgur bachan lahi-aa.
O’ God! You are imperceptible, mysterious, and inaccessible; You are realized by reflecting on the true Guru’s word.
ਤੂੰ ਹੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ!ਅਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟ ਅਭੇਵ ਅਤੇ ਅਪਹੁੰਚ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਸ਼ਾਲ ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਲਭਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਧਨੁ ਧੰਨੁ ਤੇ ਜਨ ਪੁਰਖ ਪੂਰੇ ਜਿਨ ਗੁਰ ਸੰਤਸੰਗਤਿ ਮਿਲਿ ਗੁਣ ਰਵੇ ॥
Dhan Dhan tay jan purakh pooray jin gur santsangat mil gun ravay.
Blessed are those devotees and exalted people who remembered God’s virtues by joining the company of the saint-Guru.
ਉਹ ਪੂਰਨ ਪੁਰਖ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਹਨ ਕਿਸਮਤ ਵਾਲੇ ਹਨ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਗੁਰੂ-ਸੰਤ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਯਾਦ ਕੀਤੇ ਹਨ।
ਬਿਬੇਕ ਬੁਧਿ ਬੀਚਾਰਿ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦਿ ਖਿਨੁ ਖਿਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਨਿਤ ਚਵੇ ॥

The Guru’s followers lovingly remember God every day and every moment by reflecting on the Guru’s word through discerning intellect.
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਚੰਗੇ ਮੰਦੇ ਕਰਮ ਦੀ ਪਰਖ ਕਰ ਸਕਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਅਕਲ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਸਦਾ ਹਰ ਖਿਨ ਸਿਮਰਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਜਾ ਬਹਹਿ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਬੋਲਹਿ ਜਾ ਖੜੇ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਕਹਿਆ ॥
jaa baheh gurmukh har naam boleh jaa kharhay gurmukh har har kahi-aa.
When the Guru’s followers are sitting, they lovingly recite God’s Name and when standing, they still lovingly repeat God’s Name (they remember God all the time).
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਜਦੋਂ (ਕਿਤੇ) ਬੈਠਦੇ ਹਨ ਤਾਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਉਚਾਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਜਦੋਂ ਖਲੋਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਤਦੋਂ ਭੀ ਉਹ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਹੀ ਉਚਾਰਦੇ ਹਨ (ਭਾਵ, ਗੁਰਮੁਖ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਬੈਠੇ ਖਲੋਤੇ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਚੇਤੇ ਰੱਖਦੇ ਹਨ)।
ਤੁਮ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਅਗਮ ਅਥਾਹ ਤੂ ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਪੂਰਿ ਰਹਿਆ ॥੨॥
tum su-aamee agam athaah too ghat ghat poor rahi-aa. ||2||
O’ the Master-God, You are unapproachable, unfathomable and You are pervading each and every heart. ||2||
ਹੇ ਅਪਹੁੰਚ ਅਤੇ ਅਥਾਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੂੰ (ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦਾ) ਮਾਲਕ ਹੈਂ; ਅਤੇ ਤੂੰ ਹਰੇਕ ਸਰੀਰ ਵਿਚ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੈਂ ॥੨॥
ਸੇਵਕ ਜਨ ਸੇਵਹਿ ਤੇ ਪਰਵਾਣੁ ਜਿਨ ਸੇਵਿਆ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਹਰੇ ॥
sayvak jan sayveh tay parvaan jin sayvi-aa gurmat haray.
The devotees who lovingly remember God by following Guru’s teachings, are accepted with honor in God’s presence,
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਭਗਤ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ) ਸੇਵਾ-ਭਗਤੀ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਹਜ਼ੂਰੀ ਵਿਚ) ਆਦਰ-ਸਤਕਾਰ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ,
ਤਿਨ ਕੇ ਕੋਟਿ ਸਭਿ ਪਾਪ ਖਿਨੁ ਪਰਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਦੂਰਿ ਕਰੇ ॥
tin kay kot sabh paap khin parhar har door karay.
and God destroyed their millions of sins in an instant.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਕ੍ਰੋੜਾਂ ਹੀ ਪਾਪ ਇਕ ਖਿਨ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੇ।
ਤਿਨ ਕੇ ਪਾਪ ਦੋਖ ਸਭਿ ਬਿਨਸੇ ਜਿਨ ਮਨਿ ਚਿਤਿ ਇਕੁ ਅਰਾਧਿਆ ॥
tin kay paap dokh sabh binsay jin man chit ik araaDhi-aa.
Those who lovingly remembered God in their mind, all their sins and evil deeds vanished.
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਆਪਣੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਵਿਚ ਇਕ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕੀਤਾ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਪਾਪ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਔਗੁਣ ਨਾਸ ਹੋ ਗਏ।
