ਤਿਨ ਕਾ ਜਨਮੁ ਸਫਲਿਓ ਸਭੁ ਕੀਆ ਕਰਤੈ ਜਿਨ ਗੁਰ ਬਚਨੀ ਸਚੁ ਭਾਖਿਆ ॥
tin kaa janam safli-o sabh kee-aa kartai jin gur bachnee sach bhaakhi-aa.
Those who lovingly remembered the eternal God through the Guru’s word, the Creator made their life successful.
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਬਚਨਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਤੁਰ ਕੇ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਿਆ, ਕਰਤਾਰ ਨੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਾਰਾ ਜਨਮ ਸਫਲ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
ਤੇ ਧੰਨੁ ਜਨ ਵਡ ਪੁਰਖ ਪੂਰੇ ਜੋ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਹਰਿ ਜਪਿ ਭਉ ਬਿਖਮੁ ਤਰੇ ॥
tay Dhan jan vad purakh pooray jo gurmat har jap bha-o bikham taray.
Blessed are those exalted and virtuous persons who lovingly remember God by following the Guru’s teachings and cross over the dreadful world-ocean of vices.
ਭਾਗਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਹਨ ਉਹ ਗੁਣਵਾਨ ਮਹਾ ਪੁਰਖ, ਜੋ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਮੱਤ ਤੇ ਤੁਰ ਕੇ ਇਸ ਔਖੇ ਤਰੇ ਜਾਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਸੇਵਕ ਜਨ ਸੇਵਹਿ ਤੇ ਪਰਵਾਣੁ ਜਿਨ ਸੇਵਿਆ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਹਰੇ ॥੩॥
sayvak jan sayveh tay parvaan jin sayvi-aa gurmat haray. ||3||
Those devotees who remember God by following the Guru’s teachings, are accepted in God’s presence. ||3||
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਭਗਤ ਜੋ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ) ਸੇਵਾ-ਭਗਤੀ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਕਬੂਲ ਪੈ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।॥੩॥
ਤੂ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ਹਰਿ ਆਪਿ ਜਿਉ ਤੂ ਚਲਾਵਹਿ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਹਉ ਤਿਵੈ ਚਲਾ ॥
too antarjaamee har aap ji-o too chalaaveh pi-aaray ha-o tivai chalaa.
O’ beloved God, You are omniscient and I lead my life according to Your Will.
ਹੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਹਰੀ! ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਸਭ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ। ਜਿਵੇਂ ਤੂੰ ਜੀਵਨ-ਰਾਹ ਉਤੇ ਟੋਰਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਮੈਂ ਉਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਹੀ ਟੁਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
ਹਮਰੈ ਹਾਥਿ ਕਿਛੁ ਨਾਹਿ ਜਾ ਤੂ ਮੇਲਹਿ ਤਾ ਹਉ ਆਇ ਮਿਲਾ ॥
hamrai haath kichh naahi jaa too mayleh taa ha-o aa-ay milaa.
O’ God, there is nothing under our control, when You unite, only then I unite with You.
ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! ਅਸਾਂ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਵੱਸ ਵਿਚ ਕੁਝ ਨਹੀਂ। ਜਦੋਂ ਤੂੰ (ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ) ਮਿਲਾਂਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਤਦੋਂ (ਹੀ) ਮੈਂ ਆ ਕੇ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
ਜਿਨ ਕਉ ਤੂ ਹਰਿ ਮੇਲਹਿ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਸਭੁ ਤਿਨ ਕਾ ਲੇਖਾ ਛੁਟਕਿ ਗਇਆ ॥
jin ka-o too har mayleh su-aamee sabh tin kaa laykhaa chhutak ga-i-aa.
O’ the Master-God, those whom You unite with Yourself, the account of all their past deeds is settled.
ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! ਹੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ! ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤੂੰ (ਆਪਣੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ) ਜੋੜਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ (ਪਿਛਲੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਦਾ) ਸਾਰਾ ਲੇਖ ਮੁੱਕ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਤਿਨ ਕੀ ਗਣਤ ਨ ਕਰਿਅਹੁ ਕੋ ਭਾਈ ਜੋ ਗੁਰ ਬਚਨੀ ਹਰਿ ਮੇਲਿ ਲਇਆ ॥
tin kee ganat na kari-ahu ko bhaa-ee jo gur bachnee har mayl la-i-aa.
O’ brother, no one should examine the account of the past deeds of those, whom God has united with Himself through the Guru’s divine words.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਬਚਨਾਂ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ, ਕੋਈ ਭੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਿਛਲੇ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਦੀ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਨਾ ਕਰਿਓ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਦਇਆਲੁ ਹੋਆ ਤਿਨ ਊਪਰਿ ਜਿਨ ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਭਾਣਾ ਮੰਨਿਆ ਭਲਾ ॥
naanak da-i-aal ho-aa tin oopar jin gur kaa bhaanaa mani-aa bhalaa.
O’ Nanak! God becomes gracious to those, who accept the Guru’s will as good.
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਆਪ ਦਇਆਵਾਨ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਰਜ਼ਾ ਨੂੰ ਮਿੱਠੀ ਕਰਕੇ ਮੰਨਦੇ ਹਨ
ਤੂ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ਹਰਿ ਆਪਿ ਜਿਉ ਤੂ ਚਲਾਵਹਿ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਹਉ ਤਿਵੈ ਚਲਾ ॥੪॥੨॥
too antarjaamee har aap ji-o too chalaaveh pi-aaray ha-o tivai chalaa. ||4||2||
O’ beloved God, You are omniscient and I lead my life according to Your Will. |4||2||
ਹੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਹਰੀ! ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਸਭ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ। ਜਿਵੇਂ ਤੂੰ ਜੀਵਨ-ਰਾਹ ਉਤੇ ਟੋਰਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਮੈਂ ਉਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਹੀ ਟੁਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ॥੪॥੨॥

ਤੂ ਜਗਜੀਵਨੁ ਜਗਦੀਸੁ ਸਭ ਕਰਤਾ ਸ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਨਾਥੁ ॥
too jagjeevan jagdees sabh kartaa sarisat naath.
O’ God, You are the life of the world, Master of the earth, the Creator and owner of the entire universe.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੂੰ ਜਗਤ ਦੀ ਜਿੰਦ ਜਾਨ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਜਗਤ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਸਾਰੀ (ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ) ਦਾ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਦਾ ਖਸਮ ਹੈਂ।
ਤਿਨ ਤੂ ਧਿਆਇਆ ਮੇਰਾ ਰਾਮੁ ਜਿਨ ਕੈ ਧੁਰਿ ਲੇਖੁ ਮਾਥੁ ॥
tin too Dhi-aa-i-aa mayraa raam jin kai Dhur laykh maath.
Only those who have been predestined, have lovingly remembered my God.
ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਸਿਮਰਿਆ ਹੈ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਰਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਮਰਿਆ ਹੈ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਧੁਰ ਦਰਗਾਹ ਤੋਂ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ,
ਜਿਨ ਕਉ ਧੁਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਤਿਨ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਅਰਾਧਿਆ ॥
jin ka-o Dhur har likhi-aa su-aamee tin har har naam araaDhi-aa.
Yes, in whose destiny the Master has so pre-ordained, only they have always remembered God with adoration.
ਮਾਲਕ-ਹਰੀ ਨੇ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਧੁਰੋਂ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਦਾ ਲੇਖ ਲਿਖ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ (ਸਦਾ) ਹਰੀ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਿਆ ਹੈ ।
ਤਿਨ ਕੇ ਪਾਪ ਇਕ ਨਿਮਖ ਸਭਿ ਲਾਥੇ ਜਿਨ ਗੁਰ ਬਚਨੀ ਹਰਿ ਜਾਪਿਆ ॥
tin kay paap ik nimakh sabh laathay jin gur bachnee har jaapi-aa.
All sins of those have been erased in an instant, who have lovingly meditated on God’s Name by following the Guru’s teachings.
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਬਚਨਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਤੁਰ ਕੇ ਹਰੀ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਿਆ ਹੈ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਪਾਪ ਅੱਖ ਝਮਕਣ ਜਿਤਨੇ ਸਮੇ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਹਨ।
ਧਨੁ ਧੰਨੁ ਤੇ ਜਨ ਜਿਨ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਿਆ ਤਿਨ ਦੇਖੇ ਹਉ ਭਇਆ ਸਨਾਥੁ ॥
Dhan Dhan tay jan jin har naam japi-aa tin daykhay ha-o bha-i-aa sanaath.
Blessed and praiseworthy are those who have meditated on God; seeing them, I have started meditating on God and can say that now I too have a Master.
ਭਾਗਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਹਨ, ਮੁਬਾਰਿਕ ਹਨ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਹਰੀ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਿਆ ਹੈ ; ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਮੈਂ ਭੀ ਖਸਮ ਵਾਲਾ (ਅਖਵਾਣ ਜੋਗਾ) ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹਾਂ।
ਤੂ ਜਗਜੀਵਨੁ ਜਗਦੀਸੁ ਸਭ ਕਰਤਾ ਸ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਨਾਥੁ ॥੧॥

ਤੂ ਜਲਿ ਥਲਿ ਮਹੀਅਲਿ ਭਰਪੂਰਿ ਸਭ ਊਪਰਿ ਸਾਚੁ ਧਣੀ ॥
too jal thal mahee-al bharpoor sabh oopar saach Dhanee.
O’ God, You are totally pervading in all waters, lands and skies and You are the eternal Master of all.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੂੰ ਜਲ ਵਿਚ ਧਰਤੀ ਵਿਚ ਆਕਾਸ਼ ਵਿਚ (ਹਰ ਥਾਂ) ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਿਰ ਉੱਤੇ ਹੈਂ।
ਜਿਨ ਜਪਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਮਨਿ ਚੀਤਿ ਹਰਿ ਜਪਿ ਜਪਿ ਮੁਕਤੁ ਘਣੀ ॥
jin japi-aa har man cheet har jap jap mukat ghanee.
Those who have lovingly remembered God in their conscious minds, have been liberated from vices.
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਆਪਣੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ (ਸਦਾ) ਜਪਿਆ (ਉਹ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਚ ਗਏ)।
ਜਿਨ ਜਪਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਤੇ ਮੁਕਤ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ਤਿਨ ਕੇ ਊਜਲ ਮੁਖ ਹਰਿ ਦੁਆਰਿ ॥
jin japi-aa har tay mukat paraanee tin kay oojal mukh har du-aar.
Those who lovingly remember God, they get liberated from the vices and are honored in God’s presence;
ਜਿਹੜੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਮੁਕਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਦਰ ਤੇ ਉਹ ਆਦਰ-ਸਤਕਾਰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ)।
ਓਇ ਹਲਤਿ ਪਲਤਿ ਜਨ ਭਏ ਸੁਹੇਲੇ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਖਿ ਲੀਏ ਰਖਨਹਾਰਿ ॥
o-ay halat palat jan bha-ay suhaylay har raakh lee-ay rakhanhaar.
the savior God Himself has protected them from the vices and they enjoy inner peace both here and hereafter.
ਬਚਾਣ ਦੀ ਸਮਰਥਾ ਵਾਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪ (ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ) ਬਚਾ ਲਿਆ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਬੰਦੇ ਇਸ ਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ ਤੇ ਪਰਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ ਸੁਖੀ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਹਰਿ ਸੰਤਸੰਗਤਿ ਜਨ ਸੁਣਹੁ ਭਾਈ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਹਰਿ ਸੇਵਾ ਸਫਲ ਬਣੀ ॥
har santsangat jan sunhu bhaa-ee gurmukh har sayvaa safal banee.
Listen, O’ the saintly devotees of God, the devotional worship of God becomes when performed through the Guru’s teachings.
ਹੇ ਹਰੀ ਦੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨੋਂ! ਹੇ ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤ! ਸੁਣੋ-ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪਿਆਂ ਹੀ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੋਈ ਸੇਵਾ-ਭਗਤੀ ਕਾਮਯਾਬ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਤੂ ਜਲਿ ਥਲਿ ਮਹੀਅਲਿ ਭਰਪੂਰਿ ਸਭ ਊਪਰਿ ਸਾਚੁ ਧਣੀ ॥੨॥

ਤੂ ਥਾਨ ਥਨੰਤਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਏਕੁ ਹਰਿ ਏਕੋ ਏਕੁ ਰਵਿਆ ॥
too thaan thanantar har ayk har ayko ayk ravi-aa.
O’ God, You and You alone are pervading all places and interspaces.
ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! ਸਭ ਥਾਵਾਂ ਤੇ ਵਿਚਕਾਰਲੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਥਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਇਕ ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਤੂੰ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੈਂ।
ਵਣਿ ਤ੍ਰਿਣਿ ਤ੍ਰਿਭਵਣਿ ਸਭ ਸ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਮੁਖਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਚਵਿਆ ॥
van tarin taribhavan sabh sarisat mukh har har naam chavi-aa.
The forests, the entire vegetation, the three worlds, and the entire universe seems to be reciting Your Name.
ਜੰਗਲ, ਬਨਾਸਪਤੀ, ਤਿੰਨੇ ਜਹਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਸਮੂਹ ਰਚਨਾ, ਆਪਦੇ ਮੂੰਹ ਨਾਲ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਸਾਈਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਉਚਾਰਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਸਭਿ ਚਵਹਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਕਰਤੇ ਅਸੰਖ ਅਗਣਤ ਹਰਿ ਧਿਆਵਏ ॥
sabh chaveh har har naam kartay asaNkh agnat har Dhi-aav-ay.
The entire universe seems to be reciting the Name of God, the Creator; innumerable and unaccountable beings are remembering God with adoration.
ਸਾਰੀ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ) ਕਰਤਾਰ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਉਚਾਰ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ।ਅਸੰਖਾਂ ਜੀਵ ਅਣਗਿਣਤ ਜੀਵ ਸਾਰੇ ਹੀ ਦਾ ਹਰੀ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ।
ਸੋ ਧੰਨੁ ਧਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਸੰਤੁ ਸਾਧੂ ਜੋ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਰਤੇ ਭਾਵਏ ॥
so Dhan Dhan har sant saaDhoo jo har parabh kartay bhaav-ay.
Blessed is that holy saint of God, who is pleasing to the Creator-God
ਹਰੀ ਦਾ ਉਹ ਸੰਤ ਹਰੀ ਦਾ ਉਹ ਸਾਧੂ ਧੰਨ ਹੈ ਧੰਨ ਹੈ, ਜਿਹੜਾ ਹਰਿ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਕਰਤਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ।.
ਸੋ ਸਫਲੁ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਦੇਹੁ ਕਰਤੇ ਜਿਸੁ ਹਰਿ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਦ ਚਵਿਆ ॥
so safal darsan dayh kartay jis har hirdai naam sad chavi-aa.
O’ the Creator-God, bless me with the fruitful sight of that devotee of Yours, in whose heart You are enshrined and who always recites Your Name.
ਹੇ ਕਰਤਾਰ! ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ (ਤੂੰ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈਂ), ਜੋ ਸਦਾ (ਤੇਰਾ) ਨਾਮ ਉਚਾਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਕਾਮਯਾਬ (ਜੀਵਨ ਵਾਲਾ) ਹੈ, (ਮੈਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਦਾ) ਦਰਸਨ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼।
ਤੂ ਥਾਨ ਥਨੰਤਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਏਕੁ ਹਰਿ ਏਕੋ ਏਕੁ ਰਵਿਆ ॥੩॥
too thaan thanantar har ayk har ayko ayk ravi-aa. ||3||
O’ God, it is You and You alone who is pervading everywhere. ||3||
ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! ਹਰੇਕ ਥਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਇਕ ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਤੂੰ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੈਂ ॥੩॥
ਤੇਰੀ ਭਗਤਿ ਭੰਡਾਰ ਅਸੰਖ ਜਿਸੁ ਤੂ ਦੇਵਹਿ ਮੇਰੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਤਿਸੁ ਮਿਲਹਿ ॥
tayree bhagat bhandaar asaNkh jis too dayveh mayray su-aamee tis mileh.
O’ my Master-God, the treasures of Your devotional worship are countless; but only that person receives it, whom You bless with it.
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ! ਤੇਰੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਦੇ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ ਭਰੇ ਪਏ ਹਨ, (ਪਰ ਇਹ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ) ਉਸ (ਮਨੁੱਖ) ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਦੇ ਹਨ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਤੂੰ (ਆਪ) ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈਂ।
ਜਿਸ ਕੈ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਗੁਰ ਹਾਥੁ ਤਿਸੁ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਟਿਕਹਿ ॥
jis kai mastak gur haath tis hirdai har gun tikeh.
God’s virtues abide in the heart of that person who is blessed by the Guru as if the Guru’s hand is on his forehead.
ਜਿਸ (ਮਨੁੱਖ) ਦੇ ਮੱਥੇ ਉਤੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਹੱਥ ਹੋਵੇ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਟਿਕੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ,
ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਟਿਕਹਿ ਤਿਸ ਕੈ ਜਿਸੁ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਭਉ ਭਾਵਨੀ ਹੋਈ ॥
har gun hirdai tikeh tis kai jis antar bha-o bhaavnee ho-ee.
God’s virtues only reside in the heart of that person, within whom abides His revered fear.
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ) ਡਰ ਅਦਬ ਹੈ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਵਾਸਤੇ) ਸਰਧਾ-ਪਿਆਰ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਟਿਕੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
