ਕਾਇਆ ਨਗਰੀ ਸਬਦੇ ਖੋਜੇ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਵੰ ਨਿਧਿ ਪਾਈ ॥੨੨॥
kaa-i-aa nagree sabday khojay naam navaN niDh paa-ee. ||22||
One who keeps evaluating his life through the Guru’s word, attains the treasure of God’s Name. ||22||
ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਰੀਰ-ਨਗਰ (ਆਪਣੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੀ ਪੜਤਾਲ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ-ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਲੱਭ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨੨॥
ਮਨਸਾ ਮਾਰਿ ਮਨੁ ਸਹਜਿ ਸਮਾਣਾ ਬਿਨੁ ਰਸਨਾ ਉਸਤਤਿ ਕਰਾਈ ॥੨੩॥
mansaa maar man sahj samaanaa bin rasnaa ustat karaa-ee. ||23||
One whose mind remains in the state of spiritual poise by controlling the desires, God enabled that person to praise Him without using the tongue. ||23||
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਆਪਣੀਆ ਖਾਹਿਸ਼ਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਕੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ, ਬਿਨਾ ਰਸਨਾ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਤੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕਰਾਈ ਹੈ ॥੨੩॥
ਲੋਇਣ ਦੇਖਿ ਰਹੇ ਬਿਸਮਾਦੀ ਚਿਤੁ ਅਦਿਸਟਿ ਲਗਾਈ ॥੨੪॥
lo-in daykh rahay bismaadee chit adisat lagaa-ee. ||24||
One whose spiritually enlightened eyes behold the wondrous God everywhere; his mind remains attuned to the invisible God. ||24||
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੀਆਂ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਅਸਚਰਜ-ਰੂਪ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ (ਹਰ ਥਾਂ) ਵੇਖਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ, ਉਸ ਦਾ ਚਿੱਤ ਅਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨੪॥
ਅਦਿਸਟੁ ਸਦਾ ਰਹੈ ਨਿਰਾਲਮੁ ਜੋਤੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਮਿਲਾਈ ॥੨੫॥
adisat sadaa rahai niraalam jotee jot milaa-ee. ||25||
The light of that person remains united with the supreme light of that God who is invisible with these eyes and who always remains detached. ||25||
ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਉਸ ਨੂਰੋ-ਨੂਰ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਵਿਚ ਮਿਲੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿੱਸਦਾ, ਤੇ, ਜੋ ਸਦਾ ਨਿਰਲੇਪ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨੫॥
ਹਉ ਗੁਰੁ ਸਾਲਾਹੀ ਸਦਾ ਆਪਣਾ ਜਿਨਿ ਸਾਚੀ ਬੂਝ ਬੁਝਾਈ ॥੨੬॥
ha-o gur saalaahee sadaa aapnaa jin saachee boojh bujhaa-ee. ||26||
I always keep praising my Guru who has blessed me with the understanding about the eternal God. ||26||
ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਉਸ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਸਦਾ ਵਡਿਆਉਂਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਜਿਸ ਨੇ (ਮੈਨੂੰ) ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸੂਝ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ੀ ਹੈ ॥੨੬॥
ਨਾਨਕੁ ਏਕ ਕਹੈ ਬੇਨੰਤੀ ਨਾਵਹੁ ਗਤਿ ਪਤਿ ਪਾਈ ॥੨੭॥੨॥੧੧॥
naanak ayk kahai baynantee naavhu gat pat paa-ee. ||27||2||11||
Nanak makes this one prayer that the supreme spiritual status and honor is attained through Naam alone. ||27||2||11||
ਨਾਨਕ ਇਕ ਇਹ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਹੀ ਉੱਚੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਹੀ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਮਿਲਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੨੭॥੨॥੧੧॥

Raag Raamkalee, Third Guru:
ਹਰਿ ਕੀ ਪੂਜਾ ਦੁਲੰਭ ਹੈ ਸੰਤਹੁ ਕਹਣਾ ਕਛੂ ਨ ਜਾਈ ॥੧॥
har kee poojaa dulambh hai santahu kahnaa kachhoo na jaa-ee. ||1||
O’ saints, it is very difficult to obtain the devotional worship of God; nothing can be said about it. ||1||
ਹੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨੋ! ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਪੂਜਾ-ਭਗਤੀ ਬੜੀ ਔਖਿਆਈ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦੀ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਬਾਬਤ ਕੁਝ ਭੀ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ॥੧॥
ਸੰਤਹੁ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਪੂਰਾ ਪਾਈ ॥

O’ saintly people, one realizes the perfect God through the Guru,
ਹੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨੋ! ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਭਰਪੂਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਲੱਭ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਨਾਮੋ ਪੂਜ ਕਰਾਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
naamo pooj karaa-ee. ||1|| rahaa-o.
and it is the Guru who makes us adore Naam. ||1||Pause||
ਨਾਮ ਜਪੋ, ਨਾਮ ਹੀ ਜਪੋ-ਗੁਰੂ ਇਹ ਪੂਜਾ ਕਰਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਹਰਿ ਬਿਨੁ ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਮੈਲਾ ਸੰਤਹੁ ਕਿਆ ਹਉ ਪੂਜ ਚੜਾਈ ॥੨॥
har bin sabh kichh mailaa santahu ki-aa ha-o pooj charhaa-ee. ||2||
O’ saints, except for God, everything is impure, therefore what may I use as offering for His devotional worship? ||2||
(ਹੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨੋ! ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਹੋਰ ਹਰੇਕ ਚੀਜ਼ ਮੈਲੀ ਹੈ, ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਪੂਜਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਕਿਹੜੀ ਚੀਜ਼ ਉਸ ਅੱਗੇ ਭੇਟਾ ਕਰਾਂ? ॥੨॥
ਹਰਿ ਸਾਚੇ ਭਾਵੈ ਸਾ ਪੂਜਾ ਹੋਵੈ ਭਾਣਾ ਮਨਿ ਵਸਾਈ ॥੩॥
har saachay bhaavai saa poojaa hovai bhaanaa man vasaa-ee. ||3||
Whatever pleases the eternal God is the devotional worship, therefore enshrine His will in the mind . ||3||
ਜਿਹੜਾ ਕੁਝ ਸੱਚੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ, ਕੇਵਲ ਉਹ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਉਪਾਸਨਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਰਜ਼ਾ ਨੂੰ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਵਸਾਂਉ ॥੩॥
ਪੂਜਾ ਕਰੈ ਸਭੁ ਲੋਕੁ ਸੰਤਹੁ ਮਨਮੁਖਿ ਥਾਇ ਨ ਪਾਈ ॥੪॥
poojaa karai sabh lok santahu manmukh thaa-ay na paa-ee. ||4||
O’ saints, people perform devotional worship of God as they believe, but any worship done by a self-willed person is not accepted in God’s presence. ||4||
ਹੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨੋ! ਸਾਰਾ ਜਗਤ (ਆਪਣੇ ਵਲੋਂ) ਪੂਜਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਤੁਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੋਈ ਕੋਈ ਭੀ ਪੂਜਾ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਹਜ਼ੂਰੀ ਵਿਚ) ਕਬੂਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦੀ ॥੪॥
ਸਬਦਿ ਮਰੈ ਮਨੁ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਸੰਤਹੁ ਏਹ ਪੂਜਾ ਥਾਇ ਪਾਈ ॥੫॥
sabad marai man nirmal santahu ayh poojaa thaa-ay paa-ee. ||5||
O’ saints! through the Guru’s word, one who does not let vices affect him, his mind becomes pure, such adoration gets approved in God’s presence. ||5||
ਹੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨੋ! ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵ ਆਪਣੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੈਣ ਦੇਂਦਾ, ਉਸ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਇਹ ਪੂਜਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਦਰ ਤੇ ਪਰਵਾਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੫॥
ਪਵਿਤ ਪਾਵਨ ਸੇ ਜਨ ਸਾਚੇ ਏਕ ਸਬਦਿ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਈ ॥੬॥
pavit paavan say jan saachay ayk sabad liv laa-ee. ||6||
Sanctified, immaculate and righteous are those who through the Guru’s word remain attuned to God. ||6||
ਪੁਨੀਤ, ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਅਤੇ ਸਤਾਵਾਦੀ ਹਨ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਬੰਦੇ , ਜੋ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਇਕ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਵਿਚ ਸੁਰਤ ਜੋੜੀ ਰੱਖਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੬॥
ਬਿਨੁ ਨਾਵੈ ਹੋਰ ਪੂਜ ਨ ਹੋਵੀ ਭਰਮਿ ਭੁਲੀ ਲੋਕਾਈ ॥੭॥
bin naavai hor pooj na hovee bharam bhulee lokaa-ee. ||7||
Except for remembering God’s Name with adoration, there is no other way to perform His worship; the entire world is wandering lost in doubt. ||7||
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਸੇ ਹੋਰ ਕਿਸਮ ਦੀ ਪੂਜਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ ਸਕਦੀ। ਭੁਲੇਖੇ ਵਿਚ ਪੈ ਕੇ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਕੁਰਾਹੇ ਪਈ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੭॥
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਆਪੁ ਪਛਾਣੈ ਸੰਤਹੁ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮਿ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਈ ॥੮॥
gurmukh aap pachhaanai santahu raam naam liv laa-ee. ||8||
O’ saints, a Guru’s follower keeps evaluating his own life, and keeps his mind attuned to God’s Name. ||8||
ਹੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨੋ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਪਣੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਨੂੰ ਪੜਤਾਲਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤੇ,ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਸੁਰਤ ਜੋੜੀ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੮॥
ਆਪੇ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਪੂਜ ਕਰਾਏ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦੀ ਥਾਇ ਪਾਈ ॥੯॥
aapay nirmal pooj karaa-ay gur sabdee thaa-ay paa-ee. ||9||
The immaculate God Himself inspires one to adore Him and approves the devotional worship done through the Guru’s word. ||9||
ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਜੀਵ ਪਾਸੋ ਆਪਣੀ ਪੂਜਾ-ਭਗਤੀ ਕਰਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਕੀਤੀ ਪੂਜਾ ਪਰਵਾਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੯॥
ਪੂਜਾ ਕਰਹਿ ਪਰੁ ਬਿਧਿ ਨਹੀ ਜਾਣਹਿ ਦੂਜੈ ਭਾਇ ਮਲੁ ਲਾਈ ॥੧੦॥
poojaa karahi par biDh nahee jaaneh doojai bhaa-ay mal laa-ee. ||10||
Those who perform God’s worship but do not know the proper way, they keep their mind soiled with the dirt of vices in the love for duality. ||10||
ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਪੂਜਾ ਤਾਂ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਪਰੰਤੂ (ਪੂਜਾ ਦਾ) ਸਹੀ ਤਰੀਕਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦੇ। ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਪਿਆਰ ਵਿਚ ਫਸ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੀ) ਮੈਲ ਚੰਬੋੜੀ ਰੱਖਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੧੦॥
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਹੋਵੈ ਸੁ ਪੂਜਾ ਜਾਣੈ ਭਾਣਾ ਮਨਿ ਵਸਾਈ ॥੧੧॥
gurmukh hovai so poojaa jaanai bhaanaa man vasaa-ee. ||11||
The person who becomes Guru’s follower knows the right way to perform God’s devotional worship, and he enshrines His will in the mind. ||11||
ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਕਰਨੀ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਰਜ਼ਾ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਵਸਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧੧॥
ਭਾਣੇ ਤੇ ਸਭਿ ਸੁਖ ਪਾਵੈ ਸੰਤਹੁ ਅੰਤੇ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਖਾਈ ॥੧੨॥
bhaanay tay sabh sukh paavai santahu antay naam sakhaa-ee. ||12||
O’ saints, the Guru’s follower receives celestial peace by accepting God’s will; in the end, God’s name becomes his companion. ||12||
ਹੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨੋ! ਗੁਰਮੁਖ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਭਾਣਾ ਮੰਨਣ ਤੋਂ ਹੀ ਸਾਰੇ ਸੁਖ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ; ਅਖ਼ੀਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਭੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਸਾਥੀ ਬਣਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧੨॥
ਅਪਣਾ ਆਪੁ ਨ ਪਛਾਣਹਿ ਸੰਤਹੁ ਕੂੜਿ ਕਰਹਿ ਵਡਿਆਈ ॥੧੩॥
apnaa aap na pachhaaneh santahu koorh karahi vadi-aa-ee. ||13||
O’ saints, those who do not evaluate their own life, engrossed in the love for Maya they falsely flatter themselves. ||13||
ਹੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨੋ! ਜਿਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਪਣੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੜਤਾਲਦੇ, ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਵਿਚ ਫਸੇ ਹੋਏ ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਦੀ ਹੀ ਸੋਭਾ ਕਰਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੧੩॥
ਪਾਖੰਡਿ ਕੀਨੈ ਜਮੁ ਨਹੀ ਛੋਡੈ ਲੈ ਜਾਸੀ ਪਤਿ ਗਵਾਈ ॥੧੪॥
pakhand keenai jam nahee chhodai lai jaasee pat gavaa-ee. ||14||
The demon of death does not give up on those who practice hypocrisy; the demon of death will take them away in disgrace. ||14||
ਪਖੰਡ ਕੀਤਿਆਂ ਮੌਤ ਦਾ ਦੂਤ ਖ਼ਲਾਸੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ। ਜਮ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਗੰਵਾ ਕੇ (ਪਰਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ) ਲੈ ਜਾਇਗਾ ॥੧੪॥
ਜਿਨ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਸਬਦੁ ਆਪੁ ਪਛਾਣਹਿ ਗਤਿ ਮਿਤਿ ਤਿਨ ਹੀ ਪਾਈ ॥੧੫॥
jin antar sabad aap pachhaaneh gat mit tin hee paa-ee. ||15||
Within whom is enshrined the Guru’s word, understand themselves and they alone find the way to supreme spiritual status. ||15||
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੰਤਰ ਆਤਮੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ,ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਪਛਾਨਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਕੇਵਲ ਉਹ ਹੀ ਉਚੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਦਾ ਮਾਰਗ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੧੫॥
ਏਹੁ ਮਨੂਆ ਸੁੰਨ ਸਮਾਧਿ ਲਗਾਵੈ ਜੋਤੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਮਿਲਾਈ ॥੧੬॥
ayhu manoo-aa sunn samaaDh lagaavai jotee jot milaa-ee. ||16||
When this mind goes into deep trance in which no thoughts arise in the mind; their light is absorbed into the prime light of God. ||16||
ਜਦ ਇਹ ਮਨ ਅਜਿਹੀ ਇਕਾਗ੍ਰਤਾ ਬਣਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਥੇ ਕੋਈ ਫੁਰਨੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਉੱਠਦੇ, ਤਾਂ ਸਮਝੋ ਕਿ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਜਿੰਦ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਹੈ ॥੧੬॥
ਸੁਣਿ ਸੁਣਿ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਖਾਣਹਿ ਸਤਸੰਗਤਿ ਮੇਲਾਈ ॥੧੭॥
sun sun gurmukh naam vakaaneh satsangat maylaa-ee. ||17||
The Guru’s followers remain in the holy congregation, where they constantly hear God’s Name and they aso keep uttering God’s Name. ||17||
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਉਹ ਬੰਦੇ ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਮਿਲ ਬੈਠਦੇ ਹਨ, (ਸਤ-ਸੰਗੀਆਂ ਪਾਸੋਂ) ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸੁਣ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਉਹ ਭੀ ਨਾਮ ਉਚਾਰਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੧੭॥
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਗਾਵੈ ਆਪੁ ਗਵਾਵੈ ਦਰਿ ਸਾਚੈ ਸੋਭਾ ਪਾਈ ॥੧੮॥
gurmukh gaavai aap gavaavai dar saachai sobhaa paa-ee. ||18||
The Guru’s follower sings the praises of God, renounces his ego and receives honor in God’s presence. ||18||
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੇ ਗੀਤ ਗਾਂਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਹਉਮੈ ਅਹੰਕਾਰ ਦੂਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤੇ, ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਦਰ ਤੇ ਸੋਭਾ ਪਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧੮॥
ਸਾਚੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਸਚੁ ਵਖਾਣੈ ਸਚਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਈ ॥੧੯॥
saachee banee sach vakhaanai sach naam liv laa-ee. ||19||
One who always utters the divine word of God’s praises and always remembers God, he always remains attuned to the Name of the eternal God. ||19||
ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਹਰੀ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਉਚਾਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਉਚਾਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਸੁਰਤ ਜੋੜੀ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧੯॥
ਭੈ ਭੰਜਨੁ ਅਤਿ ਪਾਪ ਨਿਖੰਜਨੁ ਮੇਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਅੰਤਿ ਸਖਾਈ ॥੨੦॥
bhai bhanjan at paap nikhanjan mayraa parabh ant sakhaa-ee. ||20||
My God is the destroyer of fear and the destroyer of sins; He is our only friend and companion in the end. ||20||
ਮੇਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਡਰ ਦੂਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ, ਗੁਨਾਹ ਨਾਸ ਕਰਨਹਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਅਖੀਰ ਦੇ ਵੇਲੇ ਦਾ ਮਦਦਗਾਰ ਹੈ ॥੨੦॥
ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਆਪੇ ਆਪਿ ਵਰਤੈ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮਿ ਵਡਿਆਈ ॥੨੧॥੩॥੧੨॥
sabh kichh aapay aap vartai naanak naam vadi-aa-ee. ||21||3||12||
O’ Nanak, God pervades everywhere all by Himself; honor is received (both here and hereafter) by attuning to His Name. ||21||3||12||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਆਪ ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜਿਆਂ ਲੋਕ ਪਰਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ ਆਦਰ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨੧॥੩॥੧੨॥

Raag Raamkalee, Third Guru:
ਹਮ ਕੁਚਲ ਕੁਚੀਲ ਅਤਿ ਅਭਿਮਾਨੀ ਮਿਲਿ ਸਬਦੇ ਮੈਲੁ ਉਤਾਰੀ ॥੧॥
ham kuchal kucheel at abhimaanee mil sabday mail utaaree. ||1||
We worldly people are generally of bad character and are extremely arrogant; the dirt of vices is removed from our mind by attuning to the Guru’s word. ||1||
ਅਸੀਂ ਸੰਸਾਰੀ-ਜੀਵ (ਆਮ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ) ਕੁਚੱਲਣੇ ਗੰਦੇ ਆਚਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਅਹੰਕਾਰੀ ਹੋਏ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਾਂ; ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜ ਕੇ ਮਨ ਤੋਂ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਮੈਲ ਉਤਾਰੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਸੰਤਹੁ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਨਿਸਤਾਰੀ ॥
santahu gurmukh naam nistaaree.
O’ saintly people! the world-ocean of vices is crossed over by remembering God’s Name through the Guru’s teachings.
ਹੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨੋ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਰਿਹਾਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ (ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ) ਪਾਰ-ਉਤਾਰਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਸਚਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਸਿਆ ਘਟ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਕਰਤੈ ਆਪਿ ਸਵਾਰੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
sachaa naam vasi-aa ghat antar kartai aap savaaree. ||1|| rahaa-o.
The Creator Himself has saved his honorof that person in whose heart is enshrined the eternal God’s Name. ||1||Pause||
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਵੱਸ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, (ਸਮਝੋ) ਕਰਤਾਰ ਨੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਰੱਖ ਲਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
