ਪਾਰਸ ਪਰਸੇ ਫਿਰਿ ਪਾਰਸੁ ਹੋਏ ਹਰਿ ਜੀਉ ਅਪਣੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਧਾਰੀ ॥੨॥
paaras parsay fir paaras ho-ay har jee-o apnee kirpaa Dhaaree. ||2||
Just as a piece of metal becomes Gold by coming in contact with the mythical philosopher’s stone, similarly one on whom the reverend God bestows His grace, he acquires the Guru’s virtues by following his teachings. ||2||
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ ਆਪਣੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ-ਪਾਰਸ ਨੂੰ ਛੁਹ ਕੇ ਆਪ ਭੀ ਪਾਰਸ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਇਕਿ ਭੇਖ ਕਰਹਿ ਫਿਰਹਿ ਅਭਿਮਾਨੀ ਤਿਨ ਜੂਐ ਬਾਜੀ ਹਾਰੀ ॥੩॥
ik bhaykh karahi fireh abhimaanee tin joo-ai baajee haaree. ||3||
Many people who wear religious robes and wander around in egotistical pride, lose the game of life. ||3||
ਜਿਹੜੇ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਜੀਵ ਧਾਰਮਿਕ ਬਾਣਾ ਪਾਈ ਫਿਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਤੇ ਉਸ ਭੇਖ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਅਹੰਕਾਰੀ ਹੋਏ ਫਿਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਮਨੁੱਖਾ ਜਨਮ ਦੀ ਖੇਡ ਜੂਏ ਵਿਚ ਹਾਰ ਲਈ (ਜਾਣੋ) ॥੩॥
ਇਕਿ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਭਗਤਿ ਕਰਹਿ ਦਿਨੁ ਰਾਤੀ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮੁ ਉਰਿ ਧਾਰੀ ॥੪॥
ik an-din bhagat karahi din raatee raam naam ur Dhaaree. ||4||
But there are also many people, who always perform devotional worship of God by keeping His Name enshrined in their hearts. ||4||
ਪਰ, ਕਈ ਬੰਦੇ ਐਸੇ ਹਨ ਜੋ ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕਾ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਕਰਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੪॥
ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਰਾਤੇ ਸਹਜੇ ਮਾਤੇ ਸਹਜੇ ਹਉਮੈ ਮਾਰੀ ॥੫॥
an-din raatay sehjay maatay sehjay ha-umai maaree. ||5||
Those who always remain imbued with God’s love, they remain elated in spiritual poise and intuitively conquer their ego. ||5||
ਜਿਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਨਾਮ-ਰੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਰੰਗੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਵਿਚ ਮਸਤ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕ ਕੇ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਹਉਮੈ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੫॥
ਭੈ ਬਿਨੁ ਭਗਤਿ ਨ ਹੋਈ ਕਬ ਹੀ ਭੈ ਭਾਇ ਭਗਤਿ ਸਵਾਰੀ ॥੬॥
bhai bin bhagat na ho-ee kab hee bhai bhaa-ay bhagat savaaree. ||6||
Devotional worship of God can never be performed without revered fear; those who have worshipped God with love and fear, have embellished their lives. ||6||
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਡਰ-ਅਦਬ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਰੱਖਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ ਸਕਦੀ। ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾ ਨੇ ਡਰ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਭਗਤੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਉਹਨਾ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਸੋਹਣੀ ਬਣਾ ਲਈ ॥੬॥
ਮਾਇਆ ਮੋਹੁ ਸਬਦਿ ਜਲਾਇਆ ਗਿਆਨਿ ਤਤਿ ਬੀਚਾਰੀ ॥੭॥
maa-i-aa moh sabad jalaa-i-aa gi-aan tat beechaaree. ||7||
Those who have eradicated the love for Maya through the Guru’s word, they understood the essence of reality by reflecting on divine wisdom. ||7||
ਜਿੱਨਾ ਨੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਮਾਇਆ ਦਾ ਮੋਹ ਸਾੜ ਲਿਆ, ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਵੀਚਾਰ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਉਨ੍ਹਾ ਨੇ ਅਸਲੀਅਤ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਝਿਆ ॥੭॥
ਆਪੇ ਆਪਿ ਕਰਾਏ ਕਰਤਾ ਆਪੇ ਬਖਸਿ ਭੰਡਾਰੀ ॥੮॥
aapay aap karaa-ay kartaa aapay bakhas bhandaaree. ||8||
The Creator-God Himself causes people to perform His devotional worship; He Himself blesses them with the treasure of devotional worship. ||8||
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਜੀਵਾਂ ਪਾਸੋਂ) ਆਪਣੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਕਰਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਆਪ ਹੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਦੇ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੮॥
ਤਿਸ ਕਿਆ ਗੁਣਾ ਕਾ ਅੰਤੁ ਨ ਪਾਇਆ ਹਉ ਗਾਵਾ ਸਬਦਿ ਵੀਚਾਰੀ ॥੯॥
tis ki-aa gunaa kaa ant na paa-i-aa ha-o gaavaa sabad veechaaree. ||9||
I cannot find the limit of God’s virtues, therefore I sing His praises by reflecting on the Guru’s word. ||9||
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਅੰਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾ ਸਕਦਾ। ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦੀ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ॥੯॥
ਹਰਿ ਜੀਉ ਜਪੀ ਹਰਿ ਜੀਉ ਸਾਲਾਹੀ ਵਿਚਹੁ ਆਪੁ ਨਿਵਾਰੀ ॥੧੦॥
har jee-o japee har jee-o saalaahee vichahu aap nivaaree. ||10||
By eradicating my ego from within, I meditate on the reverend God’s Name and sing His praises. ||10||
ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਹਉਮੈ ਦੂਰ ਕਰਕੇ ਮੈਂ ਪੂਜਯ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ,॥੧੦॥
ਨਾਮੁ ਪਦਾਰਥੁ ਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਪਾਇਆ ਅਖੁਟ ਸਚੇ ਭੰਡਾਰੀ ॥੧੧॥
naam padaarath gur tay paa-i-aa akhut sachay bhandaaree. ||11||
The wealth of Naam is obtained from the Guru; the treasures of the eternal God are inexhaustible. ||11||
ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ-ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ ਕਦੇ ਮੁੱਕਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਨ, ਪਰ ਇਹ ਨਾਮ-ਪਦਾਰਥ ਗੁਰੂ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧੧॥
ਅਪਣਿਆ ਭਗਤਾ ਨੋ ਆਪੇ ਤੁਠਾ ਅਪਣੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰਿ ਕਲ ਧਾਰੀ ॥੧੨॥
apni-aa bhagtaa no aapay tuthaa apnee kirpaa kar kal Dhaaree. ||12||
God Himself becomes pleased with His devotees and bestowing His mercy, He infuses His strength within them. ||12||
ਆਪਣੇ ਭਗਤਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਦਇਆਵਾਨ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ (ਨਾਮ ਜਪਣ ਦੀ) ਸੱਤਿਆ ਟਿਕਾਈ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧੨॥
ਤਿਨ ਸਾਚੇ ਨਾਮ ਕੀ ਸਦਾ ਭੁਖ ਲਾਗੀ ਗਾਵਨਿ ਸਬਦਿ ਵੀਚਾਰੀ ॥੧੩॥
tin saachay naam kee sadaa bhukh laagee gaavan sabad veechaaree. ||13||
Those devotees always yearn for the eternal Name, therefore they keep singing His praises by contemplating the Guru’s word. ||13||
ਉਹਨਾਂ (ਭਗਤਾਂ) ਨੂੰ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਸਦਾ ਭੁੱਖ ਲੱਗੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਂਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੧੩॥
ਜੀਉ ਪਿੰਡੁ ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਹੈ ਤਿਸ ਕਾ ਆਖਣੁ ਬਿਖਮੁ ਬੀਚਾਰੀ ॥੧੪॥
jee-o pind sabh kichh hai tis kaa aakhan bikham beechaaree. ||14||
The soul, body and everything else belong to God; it is very difficult to describe His limitless gifts. ||14||
ਇਹ ਜਿੰਦ ਤੇ ਇਹ ਸਰੀਰ (ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਉਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਹੀ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ, (ਉਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਸ਼ਾਂ ਦਾ) ਵਿਚਾਰ ਕਰਨਾ ਤੇ ਬਿਆਨ ਕਰਨਾ (ਬਹੁਤ) ਔਖਾ ਹੈ ॥੧੪॥
ਸਬਦਿ ਲਗੇ ਸੇਈ ਜਨ ਨਿਸਤਰੇ ਭਉਜਲੁ ਪਾਰਿ ਉਤਾਰੀ ॥੧੫॥
sabad lagay say-ee jan nistaray bha-ojal paar utaaree. ||15||
Those who attune their mind to the Guru’s divine word cross over the terrifying world-ocean of vices. ||15||
ਜਿਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਵਿਚ ਸੁਰਤ ਜੋੜਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਤਰ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੧੫॥
ਬਿਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਸਾਚੇ ਕੋ ਪਾਰਿ ਨ ਪਾਵੈ ਬੂਝੈ ਕੋ ਵੀਚਾਰੀ ॥੧੬॥
bin har saachay ko paar na paavai boojhai ko veechaaree. ||16||
Only a rare thoughtful person understands that except the eternal God no one else can ferry us across the worldly ocean of vices. ||16||
ਕੋਈ ਵਿਰਲਾ ਵਿਚਾਰਵਾਨ ਇਹ ਗੱਲ ਸਮਝਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਕੋਈ ਹੋਰ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੰਘਾ ਸਕਦਾ ॥੧੬॥
ਜੋ ਧੁਰਿ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਸੋਈ ਪਾਇਆ ਮਿਲਿ ਹਰਿ ਸਬਦਿ ਸਵਾਰੀ ॥੧੭॥
jo Dhur likhi-aa so-ee paa-i-aa mil har sabad savaaree. ||17||
One receives only that which is pre-ordained for him; one embellishes his life by attuning to God through the Guru’s divine word. ||17||
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਧੁਰ-ਦਰਗਾਹ ਤੋਂ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਮੱਥੇ ਤੇ ਜੋ ਲੇਖ ਲਿਖ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਉਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤੇ ਜੀਵ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜ ਕੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਆਪਣਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਸੰਵਾਰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧੭॥
ਕਾਇਆ ਕੰਚਨੁ ਸਬਦੇ ਰਾਤੀ ਸਾਚੈ ਨਾਇ ਪਿਆਰੀ ॥੧੮॥
kaa-i-aa kanchan sabday raatee saachai naa-ay pi-aaree. ||18||
That human body, which is imbued with the Guru’s word and loves God’s Name, becomes pure like Gold (free of vices). ||18||
ਜਿਹੜਾ ਸਰੀਰ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ-ਰੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਰੰਗਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਸਰੀਰ ਸੋਨੇ ਵਰਗਾ (ਵਿਕਾਰ-ਰਹਿਤ) ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ॥੧੮॥
ਕਾਇਆ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਿ ਰਹੀ ਭਰਪੂਰੇ ਪਾਈਐ ਸਬਦਿ ਵੀਚਾਰੀ ॥੧੯॥
kaa-i-aa amrit rahee bharpooray paa-ee-ai sabad veechaaree. ||19||
The ambrosial nectar of Naam with which human body remains brimfull is received by contemplating the Guru’s divine word. ||19||
ਨਾਮ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ, ਜਿਸ ਨਾਲ ਦੇਹ ਪਰੀਪੂਰਨ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਕੀਤਿਆਂ ਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧੯॥
ਜੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਖੋਜਹਿ ਸੇਈ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਹੋਰਿ ਫੂਟਿ ਮੂਏ ਅਹੰਕਾਰੀ ॥੨੦॥
jo parabh khojeh say-ee paavahi hor foot moo-ay ahaNkaaree. ||20||
Only those who seek God, realize Him; other egotistical people spiritually perish. ||20||
ਜਿਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਆਪਣੇ ਇਸ ਸਰੀਰ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ) ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਲੱਭਦੇ ਹਨ ਉਹੀ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਹੋਰ ਹੰਕਾਰੀ ਬੰਦੇ ਹੰਕਾਰ ਵਿਚ ਆਫਰ ਆਫਰ ਕੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤ ਸਹੇੜ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੨੦॥
ਬਾਦੀ ਬਿਨਸਹਿ ਸੇਵਕ ਸੇਵਹਿ ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਹੇਤਿ ਪਿਆਰੀ ॥੨੧॥
baadee binsahi sayvak sayveh gur kai hayt pi-aaree. ||21||
Those who enter into religious arguments spiritually perish; the devotees keep remembering God with love and affection received from the Guru. ||21||
ਨਿਰੀਆਂ ਫੋਕੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਤਮਕ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਮਰ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਪਰ ਭਗਤ ਜਨ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਮਿਲੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ-ਪਿਆਰ ਨਾਲ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ-ਭਗਤੀ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੨੧॥
ਸੋ ਜੋਗੀ ਤਤੁ ਗਿਆਨੁ ਬੀਚਾਰੇ ਹਉਮੈ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਮਾਰੀ ॥੨੨॥
so jogee tat gi-aan beechaaray ha-umai tarisnaa maaree. ||22||
He alone is a true yogi, who contemplates the essence of spiritual wisdom and eradicates egotism and yearning for worldly riches and power. ||22||
ਕੇਵਲ ਉਹ ਹੀ ਯੋਗੀ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ-ਵੀਚਾਰ ਦੀ ਅਸਲੀਅਤ ਨੂੰ ਸੋਚਦਾ ਸਮਝਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਸਵੈ-ਹੰਗਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਖਾਹਿਸ਼ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਮੁਕਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ॥੨੨॥
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਦਾਤਾ ਤਿਨੈ ਪਛਾਤਾ ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਤੁਮਾਰੀ ॥੨੩॥
satgur daataa tinai pachhaataa jis no kirpaa tumaaree. ||23||
O’ God! upon whom You have bestowed Your grace, has understood that the true Guru alone is the benefactor of Your Name. ||23||
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਤੇ ਤੇਰੀ ਦਇਆ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਗੱਲ ਸਮਝੀ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਗੁਰੂ (ਹੀ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਦਾਤਿ) ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ ॥੨੩॥
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਨ ਸੇਵਹਿ ਮਾਇਆ ਲਾਗੇ ਡੂਬਿ ਮੂਏ ਅਹੰਕਾਰੀ ॥੨੪॥
satgur na sayveh maa-i-aa laagay doob moo-ay ahaNkaaree. ||24||
Those who do not follow the true Guru’s teachings, remain attached to Maya; such egotistical people drown in the love for Maya and spiritually perish. ||24||
ਜਿਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਦਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਮੱਲਦੇ, ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਮਾਇਆ ਵਿਚ ਫਸੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਅਹੰਕਾਰੀ ਹੋਏ ਹੋਏ ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਵਿਚ) ਡੁੱਬ ਕੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤੇ ਮਰੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੨੪॥
ਜਿਚਰੁ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਸਾਸੁ ਤਿਚਰੁ ਸੇਵਾ ਕੀਚੈ ਜਾਇ ਮਿਲੀਐ ਰਾਮ ਮੁਰਾਰੀ ॥੨੫॥
jichar andar saas tichar sayvaa keechai jaa-ay milee-ai raam muraaree. ||25||
As long as there is breath in the body, till then we should lovingly remember God; by doing so, we realize the beloved God. ||25||
ਜਿਤਨਾ ਚਿਰ ਸਰੀਰ ਵਿਚ ਸਾਹ ਆ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਉਤਨਾ ਚਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ-ਭਗਤੀ ਕਰਦੇ ਰਹਿਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ। (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ) ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਜਾ ਮਿਲੀਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨੫॥
ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਜਾਗਤ ਰਹੈ ਦਿਨੁ ਰਾਤੀ ਅਪਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਿਅ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਪਿਆਰੀ ॥੨੬॥
an-din jaagat rahai din raatee apnay pari-a pareet pi-aaree. ||26||
One can always remain awake and alert to the onslaught of Maya through the love for our beloved God. ||26||
ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ-ਪਿਆਰ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤ ਵੇਲੇ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਦੇ ਹੱਲਿਆਂ ਵਲੋਂ) ਸੁਚੇਤ ਰਹਿ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨੬॥
ਤਨੁ ਮਨੁ ਵਾਰੀ ਵਾਰਿ ਘੁਮਾਈ ਅਪਨੇ ਗੁਰ ਵਿਟਹੁ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ॥੨੭॥
tan man vaaree vaar ghumaa-ee apnay gur vitahu balihaaree. ||27||
I dedicate my body and mind to my Guru, yes I am dedicated to Him. ||27||
ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਤੋਂ ਸਦਕੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਗੁਰੂ ਤੋਂ ਆਪਣਾ ਤਨ ਮਨ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਘੋਲਿ ਘੁਮਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ ॥੨੭॥
ਮਾਇਆ ਮੋਹੁ ਬਿਨਸਿ ਜਾਇਗਾ ਉਬਰੇ ਸਬਦਿ ਵੀਚਾਰੀ ॥੨੮॥
maa-i-aa moh binas jaa-igaa ubray sabad veechaaree. ||28||
One who is engrossed in the love for Maya shall spiritually perish; but those who contemplate the virtues of God through the Guru’s word are saved. ||28||
ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਵਿਚ ਫਸਿਆ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨਾਸ ਹੋ ਜਾਇਗਾ ,ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦੀ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਬੰਦੇ ਬਚ ਨਿਕਲਦੇ ਹਨ।॥੨੮॥
ਆਪਿ ਜਗਾਏ ਸੇਈ ਜਾਗੇ ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਵੀਚਾਰੀ ॥੨੯॥
aap jagaa-ay say-ee jaagay gur kai sabad veechaaree. ||29||
But only those whom God Himself awakens from the slumber of Maya, wake up from it and by reflecting on the word of the Guru, become thoughtful.||29||
ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਦੀ ਨੀਂਦ ਵਿਚੋਂ) ਉਹੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਜਾਗਦੇ ਹਨ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਜਗਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਅਜਿਹੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤ ਨਾਲ ਵਿਚਾਰਵਾਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੨੯॥
ਨਾਨਕ ਸੇਈ ਮੂਏ ਜਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਨ ਚੇਤਹਿ ਭਗਤ ਜੀਵੇ ਵੀਚਾਰੀ ॥੩੦॥੪॥੧੩॥
naanak say-ee moo-ay je naam na cheeteh bhagat jeevay veechaaree. ||30||4||13||
O’ Nanak, those who do not remember God’s Name die spiritually, but devotees become immortal by reflecting on God’s virtues. ||30||4||13||.
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜਿਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਿਮਰਦੇ, ਉਹੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਤਮਕ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਮਰੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਪਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਭਗਤ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦੀ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਦਾ ਸਦਕਾ ਆਤਮਕ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਜੀਉਂਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੩੦॥੪॥੧੩॥

Raag Raamkalee, Third Guru:
ਨਾਮੁ ਖਜਾਨਾ ਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਪਾਇਆ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਿ ਰਹੇ ਆਘਾਈ ॥੧॥
naam khajaanaa gur tay paa-i-aa taripat rahay aaghaa-ee. ||1||
The treasure of God’s Name is received from the Guru, they who have receive it remain completely satiated. ||1||
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ-ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਮਿਲ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ ਤ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨਾ ਵਲੋਂ ਪੂਰਨ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਰੱਜ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੧॥
ਸੰਤਹੁ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਗਤਿ ਪਾਈ ॥
santahu gurmukh mukat gat paa-ee.
O’ saints, one who follows the Guru’s teachings attains liberation from vices and attains the supreme spiritual status .
ਹੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨੋ! ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਖ਼ਲਾਸੀ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਉੱਚੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
