ਕਾਇਆ ਨਗਰ ਮਹਿ ਰਾਮ ਰਸੁ ਊਤਮੁ ਕਿਉ ਪਾਈਐ ਉਪਦੇਸੁ ਜਨ ਕਰਹੁ ॥
kaa-i-aa nagar meh raam ras ootam ki-o paa-ee-ai updays jan karahu.
O’ the devotees of God, the supreme, sublime essence of God is present within the village-like body of ours; please advise me how we could realize it.
ਇਸ ਸਰੀਰ ਰੂਪੀ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਵਿਚ ਹਰੀ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਵਧੀਆ ਸੁਆਦਲਾ ਪਦਾਰਥ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨੋ! ਮੈਨੂੰ ਸਮਝਾਓ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਹਾਸਲ ਹੋਵੇ।
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸੇਵਿ ਸਫਲ ਹਰਿ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਮਿਲਿ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਹਰਿ ਰਸੁ ਪੀਅਹੁ ॥੨॥
satgur sayv safal har darsan mil amrit har ras pee-ahu. ||2||
By following the true Guru’s teachings, experience the fruitful vision of God, and then realizing Him, drink the ambrosial nectar of God’s Name. ||2||
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਫਲ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਦਰਸਨ ਕਰੋ,ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਨਾਮ-ਜਲ ਪੀਂਦੇ ਰਹੋ ॥੨॥
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਹਰਿ ਮੀਠਾ ਹਰਿ ਸੰਤਹੁ ਚਾਖਿ ਦਿਖਹੁ ॥
har har naam amrit har meethaa har santahu chaakh dikhahu.
O’ saintly devotees of God, the ambrosial nectar of God’s Name is sweet, taste it and see for yourself.
ਹੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨੋ! ਚੱਖ ਕੇ ਵੇਖ ਲਵੋ, ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਮਿੱਠਾ ਹੈ।
ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਹਰਿ ਰਸੁ ਮੀਠਾ ਲਾਗਾ ਤਿਨ ਬਿਸਰੇ ਸਭਿ ਬਿਖ ਰਸਹੁ ॥੩॥
gurmat har ras meethaa laagaa tin bisray sabh bikh rasahu. ||3||
Those who follow the Guru’s teachings, find the elixir of God’s Name sweet ; they forsake all other worldly relishes which are poison for their spiritual life. ||3||
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਉੱਤੇ ਤੁਰ ਕੇ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਾਮ-ਰਸ ਸੁਆਦਲਾ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ, ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਮੁਕਾਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਹੋਰ ਸਾਰੇ ਰਸ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਭੁੱਲ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੩॥
ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮੁ ਰਸੁ ਰਾਮ ਰਸਾਇਣੁ ਹਰਿ ਸੇਵਹੁ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਹੁ ॥
raam naam ras raam rasaa-in har sayvhu sant janhu.
O’ saintly people, the elixir of God’s Name is a remedy for all afflictions, keep partaking it.
ਹੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨੋ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸੁਆਦਲਾ ਪਦਾਰਥ ਹੈ, ਰਸੈਣ ਹੈ, ਸਦਾ ਇਸ ਦਾ ਸੇਵਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਰਹੋ (ਸਦਾ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਵਰਤਦੇ ਰਹੋ)।
ਚਾਰਿ ਪਦਾਰਥ ਚਾਰੇ ਪਾਏ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਭਜਹੁ ॥੪॥੪॥
chaar padaarath chaaray paa-ay gurmat naanak har bhajahu. ||4||4||
O’ Nanak, by following the Guru’s teachings, meditate on God’s Name and then you would realize all the four cardinal blessings; namely, righteousness, financial prosperity, satisfaction of all the worldly desires, and salvation. ||4||4||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਮਤਿ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਸਦਾ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਭਜਨ ਕਰੋ, ਫ਼ਿਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਚਾਰੇ ਹੀ ਉਤਮ ਦਾਤਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਲਵੋਗੇ ॥੪॥੪॥

Raag Bilaaval, Fourth Guru:
ਖਤ੍ਰੀ ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਣੁ ਸੂਦੁ ਵੈਸੁ ਕੋ ਜਾਪੈ ਹਰਿ ਮੰਤ੍ਰੁ ਜਪੈਨੀ ॥
khatree baraahman sood vais ko jaapai har mantar japainee.
Anyone, from any class of the social system (warrior, priest, businessman and the serviceman) can meditate on God’s Name; the mantra is worth meditating on.
ਹਰੇਕ ਸ਼੍ਰੇਣੀ (ਖਤ੍ਰੀ, ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਣ ਸ਼ੂਦਰ ,ਵੈਸ਼) ਦਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ-ਮੰਤ੍ਰ ਜਪ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ (ਇਹ ਸਭਨਾਂ ਵਾਸਤੇ) ਜਪਣ-ਜੋਗ ਹੈ।
ਗੁਰੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਕਰਿ ਪੂਜਹੁ ਨਿਤ ਸੇਵਹੁ ਦਿਨਸੁ ਸਭ ਰੈਨੀ ॥੧॥
gur satgur paarbarahm kar poojahu nit sayvhu dinas sabh rainee. ||1||
Follow the teachings of the true Guru, deeming him as the embodiment of Supreme God; always follow the Guru’s teachings. ||1||
ਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਰੂਪ ਜਾਣ ਕੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪਵੋ। ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪਏ ਰਹੋ ॥੧॥
ਹਰਿ ਜਨ ਦੇਖਹੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਨੈਨੀ ॥
har jan daykhhu satgur nainee.
O’ devotees of God, behold the true Guru with the spiritually enlightened eyes,
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਸੇਵਕ-ਜਨੋ! ਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਖੋਲ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਵੇਖੋ ,
ਜੋ ਇਛਹੁ ਸੋਈ ਫਲੁ ਪਾਵਹੁ ਹਰਿ ਬੋਲਹੁ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਬੈਨੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
jo ichhahu so-ee fal paavhu har bolhu gurmat bainee. ||1|| rahaa-o.
and, by following the Guru’s teachings, utter divine words of God’s praises; you would receive whatever you wish for. ||1||Pause||
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਮਤਿ ਉਤੇ ਤੁਰ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੇ ਬਚਨ ਬੋਲੋ, ਜੇਹੜੀ ਇੱਛਾ ਕਰੋਗੇ ਉਹੀ ਫਲ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਲਵੋਗੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਅਨਿਕ ਉਪਾਵ ਚਿਤਵੀਅਹਿ ਬਹੁਤੇਰੇ ਸਾ ਹੋਵੈ ਜਿ ਬਾਤ ਹੋਵੈਨੀ ॥
anik upaav chitvee-ah bahutayray saa hovai je baat hovainee.
People plan all kinds of means to achieve their objectives, but that alone happens which is destined to happen.
ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਘਣੇਰੇ ਉਪਰਾਲੇ ਸੋਚਦਾ ਹੈ ਪ੍ਰੰਤੂ ਕੇਵਲ ਉਹ ਹੀ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਕਿ ਹੋਣਾ ਹੈ।
ਅਪਨਾ ਭਲਾ ਸਭੁ ਕੋਈ ਬਾਛੈ ਸੋ ਕਰੇ ਜਿ ਮੇਰੈ ਚਿਤਿ ਨ ਚਿਤੈਨੀ ॥੨॥
apnaa bhalaa sabh ko-ee baachhai so karay je mayrai chit na chitainee. ||2||
Everyone wishes for one’s own welfare; but what God does may never be in our thought or imagination.||2||
ਹਰੇਕ ਜੀਵ ਆਪਣਾ ਭਲਾ ਲੋੜਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਉਹ ਕੰਮ ਕਰ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਮੇਰੇ (ਤੁਹਾਡੇ) ਚਿੱਤ ਚੇਤੇ ਭੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ ॥੨॥
ਮਨ ਕੀ ਮਤਿ ਤਿਆਗਹੁ ਹਰਿ ਜਨ ਏਹਾ ਬਾਤ ਕਠੈਨੀ ॥
man kee mat ti-aagahu har jan ayhaa baat kathainee.
O’ devotees of God, renounce the directive of your own mind, but it is very difficult to do so.
ਹੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨੋ! ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਦੀ ਮਰਜ਼ੀ (ਉਤੇ ਤੁਰਨਾ) ਛੱਡ ਦਿਉ (ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਹੁਕਮ ਵਿਚ ਤੁਰੋ), ਪਰ ਇਹ ਗੱਲ ਹੈ ਬੜੀ ਹੀ ਔਖੀ।
ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਵਹੁ ਗੁਰ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਮਤਿ ਲੈਨੀ ॥੩॥
an-din har har naam Dhi-aavahu gur satgur kee mat lainee. ||3||
Follow the true Guru’s teachings and always meditate on God’s Name. ||3||
ਗੁਰੂ ਪਾਤਿਸ਼ਾਹ ਦੀ ਮਤਿ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਿਆ ਕਰੋ ॥੩॥
ਮਤਿ ਸੁਮਤਿ ਤੇਰੈ ਵਸਿ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਹਮ ਜੰਤ ਤੂ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਜੰਤੈਨੀ ॥
mat sumat tayrai vas su-aamee ham jant too purakh jantainee.
O’ all pervading God, it is in Your control whether one follows his own mind or the Guru’s teachings; we are like musical instruments and You are the player.
ਹੇ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਚੰਗੀ ਮੰਦੀ ਮਤਿ ਤੇਰੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਵੱਸ ਵਿਚ ਹੈ, ਅਸੀਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਵਾਜੇ ਹਾਂ, ਤੂੰ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਵਜਾਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਸਭ ਵਿਚ ਵੱਸਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਹੈਂ।
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਰਤੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਜਿਉ ਭਾਵੈ ਤਿਵੈ ਬੁਲੈਨੀ ॥੪॥੫॥
jan naanak kay parabh kartay su-aamee ji-o bhaavai tivai bulainee. ||4||5||
O’ the Creator, the Master-God of devotee Nanak, You make us say or utter whatever pleases You. ||4||5||
ਹੇ ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੇ ਮਾਲਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਕਰਤਾਰ! ਜਿਵੇਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਿਵੇਂ ਤੂੰ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਬੁਲਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ (ਸਾਡੇ ਮੂੰਹੋਂ ਬੋਲ ਕਢਾਂਦਾ ਹੈਂ) ॥੪॥੫॥

Raag Bilaaval, Fourth Guru:
ਅਨਦ ਮੂਲੁ ਧਿਆਇਓ ਪੁਰਖੋਤਮੁ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਅਨਦ ਅਨੰਦੇ ॥
anad mool Dhi-aa-i-o purkhotam an-din anad ananday.
One who has contemplated on the supreme, all pervading God, the source of supreme-bliss, always remains in a state of bliss.
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਆਨੰਦ ਦੇ ਸੋਮੇ ਉੱਤਮ ਪੁਰਖ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਿਆ, ਉਹ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਆਨੰਦ ਹੀ ਆਨੰਦ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਧਰਮ ਰਾਇ ਕੀ ਕਾਣਿ ਚੁਕਾਈ ਸਭਿ ਚੂਕੇ ਜਮ ਕੇ ਛੰਦੇ ॥੧॥
Dharam raa-ay kee kaan chukaa-ee sabh chookay jam kay chhanday. ||1||
He is not subservient to the judge of righteousness anymore; he has cast off all the fears of the demon of death.||1||
ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਧਰਮਰਾਜ ਦੀ ਮੁਥਾਜੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ, ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਜਮਰਾਜ ਦੇ ਭੀ ਸਾਰੇ ਡਰ ਮੁਕਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਜਪਿ ਮਨ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਗੋੁਬਿੰਦੇ ॥
jap man har har naam gobinday.
O’ my mind, meditate on the Name of God, the master of the universe.
ਹੇ (ਮੇਰੇ) ਮਨ! ਹਰੀ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਦਾ ਜਪਿਆ ਕਰ।
ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਗੁਰੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਏ ਪਰਮਾਨੰਦੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
vadbhaagee gur satgur paa-i-aa gun gaa-ay parmaananday. ||1|| rahaa-o.
The fortunate person, who has met the true Guru and followed his teachings, sings the praises of God of supreme bliss. ||1||Pause||
ਜਿਸ ਵੱਡੇ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲ ਪਿਆ, ਉਹ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਉੱਚੇ ਆਨੰਦ ਦੇ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਸਾਕਤ ਮੂੜ ਮਾਇਆ ਕੇ ਬਧਿਕ ਵਿਚਿ ਮਾਇਆ ਫਿਰਹਿ ਫਿਰੰਦੇ ॥
saakat moorh maa-i-aa kay baDhik vich maa-i-aa fireh firanday.
The foolish, faithless cynics, are captives of Maya, the worldly riches and power, and they keep wandering around in pursuit of Maya.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਟੁੱਟੇ ਹੋਏ ਮੂਰਖ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਕੈਦੀ ਹਨ , ਅਤੇ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਾਤਰ ਹੀ ਸਦਾ ਭਟਕਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਜਲਤ ਕਿਰਤ ਕੇ ਬਾਧੇ ਜਿਉ ਤੇਲੀ ਬਲਦ ਭਵੰਦੇ ॥੨॥
tarisnaa jalat kirat kay baaDhay ji-o taylee balad bhavanday. ||2||
Because of their past deeds they suffer in their fierce desires and go in the rounds of birth and death like the ox of an oilman going around the oil press. ||2||
ਆਪਣੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਸੰਸਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਬੱਝੇ ਹੋਏ ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਤ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨਾ (ਦੀ ਅੱਗ) ਵਿਚ ਸੜਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ (ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਦੇ ਗੇੜ ਵਿਚ)ਭਉਂਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਤੇਲੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਬਲਦ ਕੋਹਲੂ ਦੁਆਲੇ ਸਦਾ ਭਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੨॥
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਸੇਵ ਲਗੇ ਸੇ ਉਧਰੇ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਸੇਵ ਕਰੰਦੇ ॥
gurmukh sayv lagay say uDhray vadbhaagee sayv karanday.
The Guru’s followers who are engaged in God’s devotional worship, are saved from the worldly desires; but only the fortunate ones are blessed with this opportunity.
ਜੇਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ-ਭਗਤੀ ਵਿਚ ਲੱਗ ਪਏ, ਉਹ ਤ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨਾ ਦੀ ਅੱਗ ਵਿਚ ਸੜਨ ਤੋਂ ਬਚ ਗਏ। ਪਰ, ਵੱਡੇ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਹੀ ਸੇਵਾ-ਭਗਤੀ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਜਿਨ ਹਰਿ ਜਪਿਆ ਤਿਨ ਫਲੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਸਭਿ ਤੂਟੇ ਮਾਇਆ ਫੰਦੇ ॥੩॥
jin har japi-aa tin fal paa-i-aa sabh tootay maa-i-aa fanday. ||3||
Those who meditated on God, have received the reward; all their bonds of Maya, the worldly riches and power are snapped. ||3||
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਿਆ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਫਲ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ। ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਬੰਧਨ ਕੱਟੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੩॥
ਆਪੇ ਠਾਕੁਰੁ ਆਪੇ ਸੇਵਕੁ ਸਭੁ ਆਪੇ ਆਪਿ ਗੋਵਿੰਦੇ ॥
aapay thaakur aapay sayvak sabh aapay aap govinday.
God Himself is the Master and Himself the servant; everywhere, the Master of the universe is all by Himself.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੈ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਸੇਵਕ ਹੈ, ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਆਪ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੈ।
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਆਪੇ ਆਪਿ ਸਭੁ ਵਰਤੈ ਜਿਉ ਰਾਖੈ ਤਿਵੈ ਰਹੰਦੇ ॥੪॥੬॥
jan naanak aapay aap sabh vartai ji-o raakhai tivai rahanday. ||4||6||
O’ Nanak, God Himself pervades everywhere and all the beings live and remain as He keeps them.||4||6||
ਹੇ ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ! ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਵੱਸ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਜਿਵੇਂ ਉਹ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਹੀ ਜੀਵ ਜੀਵਨ ਨਿਰਬਾਹ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੪॥੬॥
ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥
ik-oNkaar satgur parsaad.
One eternal God, realized by the grace of the True Guru:
ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।

ਬੋਲਹੁ ਭਈਆ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮੁ ਪਤਿਤ ਪਾਵਨੋ ॥
bolhu bha-ee-aa raam naam patit paavno.
O’ my brothers, utter the Name of that God who is the purifier of the sinners.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਉਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਿਆ ਕਰ, ਜੋ ਵਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਬਣਾਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ,
ਹਰਿ ਸੰਤ ਭਗਤ ਤਾਰਨੋ ॥
har sant bhagat taarno.
God helps His saints and devotees swim across the world ocean of vices.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੰਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਭਗਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ (ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ) ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘਾਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ,
