ਸੂਹੀ ਕਬੀਰ ਜੀਉ ਲਲਿਤ ॥

ਥਾਕੇ ਨੈਨ ਸ੍ਰਵਨ ਸੁਨਿ ਥਾਕੇ ਥਾਕੀ ਸੁੰਦਰਿ ਕਾਇਆ ॥
thaakay nain sarvan sun thaakay thaakee sundar kaa-i-aa.
O’ human being! (due to old age), your eyes are unable to see clearly and your ears are unable to hear properly, your entire beautiful body looks frail;
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ! ਤੇਰੀਆਂ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਕਮਜ਼ੋਰ ਹੋ ਚੁਕੀਆਂ ਹਨ, ਕੰਨ ਭੀ ਹੁਣ ਸੁਣਨੋਂ ਰਹਿ ਗਏ ਹਨ, ਸੁਹਣਾ ਸਰੀਰ ਭੀ ਰਹਿ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ;
ਜਰਾ ਹਾਕ ਦੀ ਸਭ ਮਤਿ ਥਾਕੀ ਏਕ ਨ ਥਾਕਸਿ ਮਾਇਆ ॥੧॥
jaraa haak dee sabh mat thaakee ayk na thaakas maa-i-aa. ||1||
with the dawn of old age even your intellect has become weak, but your obsession for the worldly riches and power is still intact. ||1||
ਬੁਢੇਪੇ ਨੇ ਆ ਸੱਦ ਮਾਰੀ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਅਕਲ ਭੀ ਠੀਕ ਕੰਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦੀ, ਪਰ ਤੇਰੀ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ ਖਿੱਚ ਅਜੇ ਤਕ ਨਹੀਂ ਮੁੱਕੀ ॥੧॥
ਬਾਵਰੇ ਤੈ ਗਿਆਨ ਬੀਚਾਰੁ ਨ ਪਾਇਆ ॥
baavray tai gi-aan beechaar na paa-i-aa.
O’ foolish person! you have not acquired divine wisdom to realize God,
ਹੇ ਕਮਲੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ! ਤੂੰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਾਲ ਜਾਣ-ਪਛਾਣ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਸੂਝ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤੀ।
ਬਿਰਥਾ ਜਨਮੁ ਗਵਾਇਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
birthaa janam gavaa-i-aa. ||1|| rahaa-o.
and so you have wasted your life in vain.||1||Pause||
ਤੂੰ ਸਾਰੀ ਉਮਰ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਗਵਾ ਲਈ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਤਬ ਲਗੁ ਪ੍ਰਾਨੀ ਤਿਸੈ ਸਰੇਵਹੁ ਜਬ ਲਗੁ ਘਟ ਮਹਿ ਸਾਸਾ ॥
tab lag paraanee tisai sarayvhu jab lag ghat meh saasaa.
O’ mortals! lovingly remember God as long as there is breath in your body,
ਹੇ ਬੰਦੇ! ਜਦੋਂ ਤਕ ਸਰੀਰ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਾਣ ਚੱਲ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ, ਉਤਨਾ ਚਿਰ ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਸਿਮਰਦੇ ਰਹੋ।
ਜੇ ਘਟੁ ਜਾਇ ਤ ਭਾਉ ਨ ਜਾਸੀ ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਚਰਨ ਨਿਵਾਸਾ ॥੨॥
jay ghat jaa-ay ta bhaa-o na jaasee har kay charan nivaasaa. ||2||
so that even when the body perishes, your love for Him should not cease and you may find a place in His presence. ||2||
ਜੇ ਸਰੀਰ ਨਾਸ ਭੀ ਹੋ ਜਾਏ, ਤਾਂ ਭੀ ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਤੇਰਾ ਪਿਆਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਟੁੱਟੇਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਤੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਵਾਸਾ ਪਾ ਲਵੇਂਗਾ ॥੨॥
ਜਿਸ ਕਉ ਸਬਦੁ ਬਸਾਵੈ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਚੂਕੈ ਤਿਸਹਿ ਪਿਆਸਾ ॥
jis ka-o sabad basaavai antar chookai tiseh pi-aasaa.
That person’s yearning for worldly riches and power is quenched, in whose mind God Himself enshrines the divine word of His praises.
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਆਪਣੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਵਸਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੀ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ ਤ੍ਰਿਹ ਮਿਟ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਹੁਕਮੈ ਬੂਝੈ ਚਉਪੜਿ ਖੇਲੈ ਮਨੁ ਜਿਣਿ ਢਾਲੇ ਪਾਸਾ ॥੩॥
hukmai boojhai cha-uparh khaylai man jin dhaalay paasaa. ||3||
Then such a person understands God’s will and plays a chess-like game of life after conquering his own mind. ||3||
ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਰਜ਼ਾ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਝ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਰੂਪ ਚੌਪੜ ਦੀ ਖੇਡ ਵਿਚ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਜਿੱਤ ਕੇ ਪਾਸਾ ਸੁੱਟਣਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਜੋ ਜਨ ਜਾਨਿ ਭਜਹਿ ਅਬਿਗਤ ਕਉ ਤਿਨ ਕਾ ਕਛੂ ਨ ਨਾਸਾ ॥
jo jan jaan bhajeh abigat ka-o tin kaa kachhoo na naasaa.
Those who realize and lovingly remember the eternal God do not lose their life in vain.
ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਂਝ ਬਣਾ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਅਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਮਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਅਜਾਈਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਂਦਾ।
ਕਹੁ ਕਬੀਰ ਤੇ ਜਨ ਕਬਹੁ ਨ ਹਾਰਹਿ ਢਾਲਿ ਜੁ ਜਾਨਹਿ ਪਾਸਾ ॥੪॥੪॥
kaho kabeer tay jan kabahu na haareh dhaal jo jaaneh paasaa. ||4||4||
Kabir says, those devotees who remember God, they know how to throw the dice in the game of life, and they never lose in it.||4||4||
ਕਬੀਰ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ- ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਸਿਮਰਨ-ਰੂਪ) ਪਾਸਾ ਸੁੱਟਣਾ ਜਾਣਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਦੀ ਬਾਜ਼ੀ ਕਦੇ ਹਾਰ ਕੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਂਦੇ ॥੪॥੪॥

ਏਕੁ ਕੋਟੁ ਪੰਚ ਸਿਕਦਾਰਾ ਪੰਚੇ ਮਾਗਹਿ ਹਾਲਾ ॥
ayk kot panch sikdaaraa panchay maageh haalaa.
The human body is like a fortress, in which live five rulers (vices-lust, anger, greed, attachment and ego) demand tax (control the human mind).
ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਇਹ ਸਰੀਰ, ਮਾਨੋ, ਇਕ ਕਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਹੈ, ਇਸ ਵਿਚ ਪੰਜ ਕਾਮਾਦਿਕ ਚੌਧਰੀ ਵੱਸਦੇ ਹਨ), ਪੰਜੇ ਹੀ ਇਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਮਾਮਲਾ ਮੰਗਦੇ ਹਨ l
ਜਿਮੀ ਨਾਹੀ ਮੈ ਕਿਸੀ ਕੀ ਬੋਈ ਐਸਾ ਦੇਨੁ ਦੁਖਾਲਾ ॥੧॥
jimee naahee mai kisee kee bo-ee aisaa dayn dukhaalaa. ||1||
Since I have not come under their control, it is difficult to obey them. ||1||
ਪਰ ਮੈਂ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਪੰਜਾਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਦਾ ਭੀ ਮੁਜ਼ਾਰਿਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਬਣਿਆ, ਇਸ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਦਾ ਮਾਮਲਾ ਭਰਨਾ ਮੇਰੇ ਲਈ ਔਖਾ ਹੈ॥੧॥
ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਲੋਗਾ ਮੋ ਕਉ ਨੀਤਿ ਡਸੈ ਪਟਵਾਰੀ ॥
har kay logaa mo ka-o neet dasai patvaaree.
O’ the saints of God! everyday I remain afraid of the demon of death.
ਹੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨੋ! ਮੈਨੂੰ ਮਾਮਲੇ ਦਾ ਹਿਸਾਬ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਦਾ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਦੁਖ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਊਪਰਿ ਭੁਜਾ ਕਰਿ ਮੈ ਗੁਰ ਪਹਿ ਪੁਕਾਰਿਆ ਤਿਨਿ ਹਉ ਲੀਆ ਉਬਾਰੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
oopar bhujaa kar mai gur peh pukaari-aa tin ha-o lee-aa ubaaree. ||1|| rahaa-o.
So, with raised hands (respectfully), I prayed to the Guru for help, and he saved me from these vices. ||1||Pause||
ਸੋ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੀ ਬਾਂਹ ਉੱਚੀ ਕਰ ਕੇ (ਆਪਣੇ) ਗੁਰੂ ਅੱਗੇ ਪੁਕਾਰ ਕੀਤੀ ਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ (ਇਹਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ) ਬਚਾ ਲਿਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਨਉ ਡਾਡੀ ਦਸ ਮੁੰਸਫ ਧਾਵਹਿ ਰਈਅਤਿ ਬਸਨ ਨ ਦੇਹੀ ॥
na-o daadee das munsaf Dhaaveh ra-ee-at basan na dayhee.
The nine surveyors (nine openings of the body) and ten judges ( ten sensory organs) attack the human body and don’t let the subjects (virtues) live in peace.
ਮਨੁੱਖਾ-ਸਰੀਰ ਦੇ ਨੌ ਸੋਤਰ- ਜਰੀਬ ਕਸ਼ ਤੇ ਦਸ ਇੰਦ੍ਰੇ ਨਿਆਂ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ (ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਉੱਤੇ ਇਤਨੇ) ਹੱਲਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਪੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ (ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਭਲੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦੀ) ਪਰਜਾ ਨੂੰ ਵੱਸਣ ਨਹੀਂ ਦੇਂਦੇ।
ਡੋਰੀ ਪੂਰੀ ਮਾਪਹਿ ਨਾਹੀ ਬਹੁ ਬਿਸਟਾਲਾ ਲੇਹੀ ॥੨॥
doree pooree maapeh naahee baho bistaalaa layhee. ||2||
They do not accurately evaluate the person’s deeds and ask for too much kickback (mislead a person into so many sinful tendencies). ||2||
(ਇਹ ਜਰੀਬ-ਕਸ਼) ਜਰੀਬ ਪੂਰੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਾਪਦੇ, ਵਧੀਕ ਵੱਢੀ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ (ਭਾਵ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਤੋਂ ਵਧੀਕ ਵਿਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਵਿਚ ਫਸਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਜਾਇਜ਼ ਹੱਦ ਤੋਂ ਵਧੀਕ ਕਾਮ ਆਦਿਕ ਵਿਚ ਫਸਾ ਦੇਂਦੇ ਹਨ) ॥੨॥
ਬਹਤਰਿ ਘਰ ਇਕੁ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਸਮਾਇਆ ਉਨਿ ਦੀਆ ਨਾਮੁ ਲਿਖਾਈ ॥
bahtar ghar ik purakh samaa-i-aa un dee-aa naam likhaa-ee.
The Guru wrote for me the entry permit with the Name of God who lives in the body-house which has seventy two chambers.
ਮੈਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਅੱਗੇ ਪੁਕਾਰ ਕੀਤੀ ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਰਾਹਦਾਰੀ ਵਜੋਂ ਲਿਖ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਜੋ ਬਹੱਤਰ-ਘਰੀ ਸਰੀਰ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਹੀ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੈ।
ਧਰਮ ਰਾਇ ਕਾ ਦਫਤਰੁ ਸੋਧਿਆ ਬਾਕੀ ਰਿਜਮ ਨ ਕਾਈ ॥੩॥
Dharam raa-ay kaa daftar soDhi-aa baakee rijam na kaa-ee. ||3||
When the office of the righteous judge examined the account of my deeds, then absolutely no balance of any bad deeds was found. ||3||
(ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਇਸ ਮਿਹਰ ਦਾ ਸਦਕਾ ਜਦੋਂ) ਧਰਮਰਾਜ ਦੇ ਦਫ਼ਤਰ ਦੀ ਪੜਤਾਲ ਕੀਤੀ ਤਾਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਜ਼ਿੰਮੇ ਰਤਾ ਭੀ ਦੇਣਾ ਨਾਹ ਨਿਕਲਿਆ (ਭਾਵ, ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਕੁਕਰਮਾਂ ਦਾ ਲੇਖਾ ਉੱਕਾ ਹੀ ਮੁੱਕ ਗਿਆ) ॥੩॥
ਸੰਤਾ ਕਉ ਮਤਿ ਕੋਈ ਨਿੰਦਹੁ ਸੰਤ ਰਾਮੁ ਹੈ ਏਕੋੁ ॥
santaa ka-o mat ko-ee nindahu sant raam hai ayko.
Let no one slander the saints, because the saints and God are as one.
ਕੋਈ ਧਿਰ ਸੰਤਾਂ ਦੀ ਕਦੇ ਨਿੰਦਿਆ ਨਾਹ ਕਰਿਓ, ਸੰਤ ਤੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਇੱਕ-ਰੂਪ ਹਨ।
ਕਹੁ ਕਬੀਰ ਮੈ ਸੋ ਗੁਰੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਾ ਕਾ ਨਾਉ ਬਿਬੇਕੋੁ ॥੪॥੫॥
kaho kabeer mai so gur paa-i-aa jaa kaa naa-o bibayko. ||4||5||
Kabir says, I have met such a Guru who is perfectly enlightened. ||4||5||
ਕਬੀਰ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ- ਮੈਨੂੰ ਭੀ ਉਹੀ ਗੁਰੂ-ਸੰਤ ਹੀ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਪੂਰਨ ਗਿਆਨਵਾਨ ਹੈ ॥੪॥੫॥

ਰਾਗ ਸੂਹੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਗਤ ਰਵਿਦਾਸ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ।
ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥
ik-oNkaar satgur parsaad.
One eternal God, realized by the grace of True Guru:
ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਸਹ ਕੀ ਸਾਰ ਸੁਹਾਗਨਿ ਜਾਨੈ ॥
sah kee saar suhaagan jaanai.
Only a fortunate soul-bride knows the worth of union with her Husband-God.
ਖਸਮ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ (ਦੇ ਮਿਲਾਪ) ਦੀ ਕਦਰ ਖਸਮ ਨਾਲ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੀ ਹੀ ਜਾਣਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਤਜਿ ਅਭਿਮਾਨੁ ਸੁਖ ਰਲੀਆ ਮਾਨੈ ॥
taj abhimaan sukh ralee-aa maanai.
Renouncing ego, she enjoys celestial peace and pleasure.
ਉਹ ਅਹੰਕਾਰ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਸੁਖ-ਆਨੰਦ ਮਾਣਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਤਨੁ ਮਨੁ ਦੇਇ ਨ ਅੰਤਰੁ ਰਾਖੈ ॥
tan man day-ay na antar raakhai.
She surrenders her body and mind to her Master-God and does not keep any secret from him.
ਆਪਣਾ ਤਨ ਮਨ ਖਸਮ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਹਵਾਲੇ ਕਰ ਦੇਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਤੀ ਨਾਲੋਂ (ਕੋਈ) ਵਿੱਥ ਨਹੀਂ ਰੱਖਦੀ।
ਅਵਰਾ ਦੇਖਿ ਨ ਸੁਨੈ ਅਭਾਖੈ ॥੧॥
avraa daykh na sunai abhaakhai. ||1||
She neither looks for support from others, nor she hears ill advice from others. ||1||
ਨਾਂਹ ਕਿਸੇ ਹੋਰ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਤੱਕਦੀ ਹੈ, ਤੇ ਨਾਹ ਕਿਸੇ ਦੀ ਮੰਦ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਨਾ ਸੁਣਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਸੋ ਕਤ ਜਾਨੈ ਪੀਰ ਪਰਾਈ ॥
so kat jaanai peer paraa-ee.
How can a soul-bride understand the pangs of another?
ਉਹ ਹੋਰਨਾਂਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ (ਇਹ) ਪੀੜ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਸਮਝ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ?
ਜਾ ਕੈ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਦਰਦੁ ਨ ਪਾਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
jaa kai antar darad na paa-ee. ||1|| rahaa-o.
Who herself has never endured such pangs within.||1||Pause||
ਜਿਸ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਤੋਂ ਵਿਛੋੜੇ ਦਾ ਸੱਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਉੱਠਿਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਦੁਖੀ ਦੁਹਾਗਨਿ ਦੁਇ ਪਖ ਹੀਨੀ ॥
dukhee duhaagan du-ay pakh heenee.
That unfortunate soul-bride remains miserable and loses both the worlds (hear and hearafter);
ਉਹ ਛੁੱਟੜ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਦੁਖੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਸਹੁਰੇ ਪੇਕੇ (ਲੋਕ ਪਰਲੋਕ) ਦੋਹਾਂ ਥਾਵਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਵਾਂਜੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ,
ਜਿਨਿ ਨਾਹ ਨਿਰੰਤਰਿ ਭਗਤਿ ਨ ਕੀਨੀ ॥
jin naah nirantar bhagat na keenee.
because she has not regularly performed the devotional worship of the Master-God.
ਕਿਉਂਕੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਖਸਮ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਬੰਦਗੀ ਇੱਕ-ਰਸ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤੀ।
ਪੁਰ ਸਲਾਤ ਕਾ ਪੰਥੁ ਦੁਹੇਲਾ ॥
pur salaat kaa panth duhaylaa.
To walk on the bridge over the fire of hell is difficult.
ਪੁਰਸਲਾਤ (ਨਰਕ ਦੀ ਅੱਗ ਉਪਰਲੇ ਪੁਲ) ਦਾ ਰਸਤਾ ਬੜਾ ਔਖਾ ਹੈ
ਸੰਗਿ ਨ ਸਾਥੀ ਗਵਨੁ ਇਕੇਲਾ ॥੨॥
sang na saathee gavan ikaylaa. ||2||
There is no companion on that path and one has to go alone on that path. ||2||
ਉਥੇ ਕੋਈ ਸੰਗੀ ਕੋਈ ਸਾਥੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਬਣਦਾ,ਸਾਰਾ ਪੈਂਡਾ ਇਕੱਲਿਆਂ ਹੀ ਲੰਘਣਾ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਦੁਖੀਆ ਦਰਦਵੰਦੁ ਦਰਿ ਆਇਆ ॥
dukhee-aa daradvand dar aa-i-aa.
O’ God! sufferingin great pain, I have come to Your refuge.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੈਂ ਦੁਖੀ ਮੈਂ ਦਰਦਵੰਦਾ ਤੇਰੇ ਦਰ ਤੇ ਆਇਆ ਹਾਂ।
ਬਹੁਤੁ ਪਿਆਸ ਜਬਾਬੁ ਨ ਪਾਇਆ ॥
bahut pi-aas jabaab na paa-i-aa.
I am yearning for Your blessed vision, but I have not received any response from You.
ਮੈਨੂੰ ਤੇਰੇ ਦਰਸਨ ਦੀ ਬੜੀ ਤਾਂਘ ਹੈ (ਪਰ ਤੇਰੇ ਦਰ ਤੋਂ) ਕੋਈ ਉੱਤਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲਿਆ ।
ਕਹਿ ਰਵਿਦਾਸ ਸਰਨਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਤੇਰੀ ॥
kahi ravidaas saran parabh tayree.
Ravidas says, O’ God! I have come to Your refuge;
ਰਵਿਦਾਸ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ-ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਸ਼ਰਨ ਆਇਆ ਹਾਂ,
ਜਿਉ ਜਾਨਹੁ ਤਿਉ ਕਰੁ ਗਤਿ ਮੇਰੀ ॥੩॥੧॥
ji-o jaanhu ti-o kar gat mayree. ||3||1||
however You may, please save me from the vices. ||3||1|
ਜਿਵੇਂ ਭੀ ਹੋ ਸਕੇ, ਤਿਵੇਂ ਮੇਰੀ ਮੁਕਤੀ ਕਰ ਦਿਓ ॥੩॥੧॥

ਜੋ ਦਿਨ ਆਵਹਿ ਸੋ ਦਿਨ ਜਾਹੀ ॥
jo din aavahi so din jaahee.
Whatever days come, they keep passing away ( remaining life is becoming short).
(ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਵਿਚ) ਜੇਹੜੇ ਜੇਹੜੇ ਦਿਨ ਆਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਦਿਨਨਾਲੋ ਨਾਲ ਲੰਘਦੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ (ਭਾਵ, ਉਮਰ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਘਟਦੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ)।
ਕਰਨਾ ਕੂਚੁ ਰਹਨੁ ਥਿਰੁ ਨਾਹੀ ॥
karnaa kooch rahan thir naahee.
Everyone has to depart from here; no one’s stay in this world is forever.
ਇਥੋਂ ਹਰੇਕ ਨੇ ਕੂਚ ਕਰ ਜਾਣਾ ਹੈ ਕਿਸੇ ਦੀ ਭੀ ਇਥੇ ਸਦਾ ਦੀ ਰਿਹੈਸ਼ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ।
ਸੰਗੁ ਚਲਤ ਹੈ ਹਮ ਭੀ ਚਲਨਾ ॥
sang chalat hai ham bhee chalnaa.
Our companions are leaving and we also will have to leave this world.
ਅਸਾਡਾ ਸਾਥ ਤੁਰਿਆ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਅਸਾਂ ਭੀ (ਇਥੋਂ) ਤੁਰ ਜਾਣਾ ਹੈ।
ਦੂਰਿ ਗਵਨੁ ਸਿਰ ਊਪਰਿ ਮਰਨਾ ॥੧॥
door gavan sir oopar marnaa. ||1||
Death is hovering over our heads, and we have to go to a far off place.||1||
ਇਹ ਦੂਰ ਦੀ ਮੁਸਾਫ਼ਰੀ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਮੌਤ ਸਿਰ ਉਤੇ ਖਲੋਤੀ ਹੈ (ਪਤਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੇਹੜੇ ਵੇਲੇ ਆ ਜਾਏ) ॥੧॥
