ਪੂਰਾ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਸਚਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਵੈ ॥
pooraa purakh paa-i-aa vadbhaagee sach naam liv laavai.
He realizes the perfect God by great good fortune; remains lovingly attuned to the eternal God’s Name
ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਵੱਡੀ ਕਿਸਮਤ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਰੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਭਰਪੂਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਮਿਲ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਉਹ ਸੁਰਤ ਜੋੜੀ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਮਤਿ ਪਰਗਾਸੁ ਭਈ ਮਨੁ ਮਾਨਿਆ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮਿ ਵਡਿਆਈ ॥
mat pargaas bha-ee man maani-aa raam naam vadi-aa-ee.
His intellect is enlightened with divine wisdom, his mind is appeased and he receives honor through Naam.
ਉਸ ਦੀ ਮਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੀ ਸੂਝ ਦਾ ਚਾਨਣ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਪਤੀਜ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਮਿਲ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਸਬਦਿ ਮਿਲਾਇਆ ਜੋਤੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਮਿਲਾਈ ॥੪॥੧॥੪॥
naanak parabh paa-i-aa sabad milaa-i-aa jotee jot milaa-ee. ||4||1||4||
O’ Nanak, one who attunes to the Guru’s word, realizes God and his soul remains united with the Prime soul. ||4||1||4||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਮਿਲ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੀ ਜਿੰਦ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਇਕ-ਮਿਕ ਹੋਈ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੪॥੧॥੪॥

ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥

One eternal God, realized by the grace of the True Guru:
ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਗੁਰੁ ਸੰਤ ਜਨੋ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਮੈ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਮੇਰੀ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਬੁਝਿ ਗਈਆਸੇ ॥
gur sant jano pi-aaraa mai mili-aa mayree tarisnaa bujh ga-ee-aasay.
O’ saintly persons, I have met the beloved Guru and now all my yearning for worldly riches and power is quenched.
ਹੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨੋ! ਮੈਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲ ਪਿਆ ਹੈਮੇਰੀ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ ਤ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨਾ ਮਿਟ ਗਈ ਹੈ।
ਹਉ ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਦੇਵਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੈ ਮੈ ਮੇਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਗੁਣਤਾਸੇ ॥
ha-o man tan dayvaa satigurai mai maylay parabh guntaasay.
I surrender my mind and body to the true Guru so that he may unite me with God, the treasure of virtues.
ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣਾ ਮਨ ਆਪਣਾ ਤਨ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਭੇਟ ਧਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ। ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦੇ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾ ਦੇਣ।
ਧਨੁ ਧੰਨੁ ਗੁਰੂ ਵਡ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਹੈ ਮੈ ਦਸੇ ਹਰਿ ਸਾਬਾਸੇ ॥
Dhan Dhan guroo vad purakh hai mai dasay har saabaasay.
Extremely praiseworthy is the supreme Guru; I applaud the Guru who makes me aware about God.
ਗੁਰੂ ਸਲਾਹੁਣ-ਜੋਗ ਹੈ, ਗੁਰੂ ਮਹਾ ਪੁਰਖ ਹੈ, ਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਾਬਾਸ਼। ਗੁਰੂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਦੱਸ ਪਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮਿ ਵਿਗਾਸੇ ॥੧॥
vadbhaagee har paa-i-aa jan naanak naam vigaasay. ||1||
O’ Nanak, those who realize God through great good fortune, attuned to Naam, they become extremely delighted. ||1||
ਹੇ ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰਵੱਡੇ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਮਿਲ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜ ਕੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਨਾਲ ਭਰਪੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੧॥
ਗੁਰੁ ਸਜਣੁ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਮੈ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਮਾਰਗੁ ਪੰਥੁ ਦਸਾਹਾ ॥
gur sajan pi-aaraa mai mili-aa har maarag panth dasaahaa.
Since the time I have met my beloved friend Guru, I keep asking him the way to realize God.
ਜਦੋਂ ਦਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਸੱਜਣ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਹੈ, ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਦਾ ਰਸਤਾ ਪੁੱਛਦੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹਾਂ,
ਘਰਿ ਆਵਹੁ ਚਿਰੀ ਵਿਛੁੰਨਿਆ ਮਿਲੁ ਸਬਦਿ ਗੁਰੂ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਨਾਹਾ ॥
ghar aavhu chiree vichhunni-aa mil sabad guroo parabh naahaa.
O’ my Master-God, I have been separated from You for so long, let me realize You in my heart through the Guru’s divine word.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਪਤੀ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਚਿਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਵਿੱਛੁੜੀ ਹੋਈ ਨੂੰ ਆ ਮਿਲ, ਮੇਰੇ (ਹਿਰਦੇ-) ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਆ ਵੱਸ।
ਹਉ ਤੁਝੁ ਬਾਝਹੁ ਖਰੀ ਉਡੀਣੀਆ ਜਿਉ ਜਲ ਬਿਨੁ ਮੀਨੁ ਮਰਾਹਾ ॥
ha-o tujh baajhahu kharee udeenee-aa ji-o jal bin meen maraahaa.
O’ God! just as fish dies without water, similarly I remain very sad without You.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਜਿਵੇਂ ਪਾਣੀ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਮੱਛੀ (ਤੜਪ) ਮਰਦੀ ਹੈ, (ਤਿਵੇਂ) ਤੈਥੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਮੈਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਉਦਾਸ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹਾਂ।
ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਹਰਿ ਧਿਆਇਆ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮਿ ਸਮਾਹਾ ॥੨॥
vadbhaagee har Dhi-aa-i-aa jan naanak naam samaahaa. ||2||
O’ Nanak, those very fortunate people who remembered God with adoration, merged into Him. ||2||
ਹੇ ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜਿਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੇ ਵੱਡੇ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕੀਤਾ, ਉਹ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ (ਹੀ) ਲੀਨ ਹੋ ਗਏ ॥੨॥
ਮਨੁ ਦਹ ਦਿਸਿ ਚਲਿ ਚਲਿ ਭਰਮਿਆ ਮਨਮੁਖੁ ਭਰਮਿ ਭੁਲਾਇਆ ॥
man dah dis chal chal bharmi-aa manmukh bharam bhulaa-i-aa.
Deluded by doubt, the mind of a self willed person wanders around everywhere.
ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਤੁਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਭਟਕਣਾ ਵਿਚ ਕੁਰਾਹੇ ਪੈ ਕੇ ਦਸੀਂ ਪਾਸੀਂ ਦੌੜ ਦੌੜ ਕੇ ਭਟਕਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਨਿਤ ਆਸਾ ਮਨਿ ਚਿਤਵੈ ਮਨ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਭੁਖ ਲਗਾਇਆ ॥
nit aasaa man chitvai man tarisnaa bhukh lagaa-i-aa.
He always entertains hopes for more and more worldly wealth, because his mind is afflicted with yearning for worldly riches and power
ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਸਦਾ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀਆਂ ਆਸਾਂ ਚਿਤਾਰਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ ਤ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨਾ ਭੁੱਖ ਚੰਬੜੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਅਨਤਾ ਧਨੁ ਧਰਿ ਦਬਿਆ ਫਿਰਿ ਬਿਖੁ ਭਾਲਣ ਗਇਆ ॥
antaa Dhan Dhar dabi-aa fir bikh bhaalan ga-i-aa.
Even though he has hoarded unaccountable wealth, still he goes out searching for worldly riches which is nothing but poison for the spiritual life.
ਬੇਅੰਤ ਧਨ ਧਰਤੀ ਵਿਚ ਦੱਬ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ, ਫਿਰ ਭੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤ ਲਿਆਉਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਹੋਰ ਮਾਇਆ-ਜ਼ਹਿਰ ਦੀ ਭਾਲ ਕਰਦਾ ਫਿਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਲਾਹਿ ਤੂ ਬਿਨੁ ਨਾਵੈ ਪਚਿ ਪਚਿ ਮੁਇਆ ॥੩॥
jan naanak naam salaahi too bin naavai pach pach mu-i-aa. ||3||
O’ Nanak, keep remembering God with loving devotion, because without it one is consumed in the fierce worldly desires and remains spiritually dead. ||3||
ਹੇ ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ!ਤੂੰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਦਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਕਰ। ਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਖੁੰਝ ਕੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਤ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨਾ ਦੀ ਅੱਗ ਵਿਚ) ਸੜ ਸੜ ਕੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤ ਹੀ ਸਹੇੜੀ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਗੁਰੁ ਸੁੰਦਰੁ ਮੋਹਨੁ ਪਾਇ ਕਰੇ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਬਾਣੀ ਮਨੁ ਮਾਰਿਆ ॥
gur sundar mohan paa-ay karay har paraym banee man maari-aa.
On meeting the beautiful and fascinating Guru, I have conquered my mind with his loving divine words of God’s praises.
ਸੋਹਣੇ ਅਤੇ ਮਨ-ਮੋਹਣੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਮੈਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਪਿਆਰ ਨੂੰ ਰਮਾਉਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਵਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ।
ਮੇਰੈ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਸੁਧਿ ਬੁਧਿ ਵਿਸਰਿ ਗਈ ਮਨ ਆਸਾ ਚਿੰਤ ਵਿਸਾਰਿਆ ॥
mayrai hirdai suDh buDh visar ga-ee man aasaa chint visaari-aa.
My heart has forgotten its understanding and intellect; I have renounced all hopes and worries of my mind.
ਆਸਾ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਵਾਲੀ ਸੂਝ-ਬੂਝ ਮੇਰੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਭੁੱਲ ਗਈ ਹੈ, ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਦੀ ਆਸਾ ਤੇ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਵਿਸਾਰ ਚੁਕਾ ਹਾਂ।
ਮੈ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਵੇਦਨ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਕੀ ਗੁਰ ਦੇਖਤ ਮਨੁ ਸਾਧਾਰਿਆ ॥
mai antar vaydan paraym kee gur daykhat man saaDhaari-aa.
Beholding the Guru, my mind has become spiritually secured and within me are the pangs of divine love.
(ਹੁਣ) ਮੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਦੀ ਚੋਭ ਟਿਕੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨ ਧੀਰਜ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਆਇ ਮਿਲੁ ਜਨੁ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਖਿਨੁ ਖਿਨੁ ਵਾਰਿਆ ॥੪॥੧॥੫॥
vadbhaagee parabh aa-ay mil jan naanak khin khin vaari-aa. ||4||1||5||
O’ God, it would be my good fortune if You make me realize You; Your devotee Nanak is forever dedicated to You. ||4||1||5||
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੇਰੇ ਚੰਗੇ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਨੂੰ, ਤੂੰ ਮੈਠੂੰ ਆ ਕੇ ਮਿਲ,ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ ਤੈਥੋਂ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਸਦਕੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੪॥੧॥੫॥

ਮਾਰੇਹਿਸੁ ਵੇ ਜਨ ਹਉਮੈ ਬਿਖਿਆ ਜਿਨਿ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮਿਲਣ ਨ ਦਿਤੀਆ ॥
maarayhis vay jan ha-umai bikhi-aa jin har parabh milan na ditee-aa.
O’ mortal, destroy this ego and the love for the poisonous worldly riches and power which has not let you realize God.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਿਸ ਹਉਮੈ ਅਤੇ ਮਾਇਆ ਨੇ ਜੀਵ ਨੂੰ ਕਦੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਣ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਇਸ ਹਉਮੈ ਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਮਾਇਆ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਮੁਕਾਓ।
ਦੇਹ ਕੰਚਨ ਵੇ ਵੰਨੀਆ ਇਨਿ ਹਉਮੈ ਮਾਰਿ ਵਿਗੁਤੀਆ ॥
dayh kanchan vay vannee-aa in ha-umai maar vigutee-aa.
Your body is valuable and beautiful like gold, but this ego has destroyed it.
ਇਹ ਸਰੀਰ ਸੋਨੇ ਦੇ ਰੰਗ ਵਰਗਾ ਸੋਹਣਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਇਸ ਹਉਮੈ ਨੇ ਸਰੀਰ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਕੇ ਖ਼ੁਆਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
ਮੋਹੁ ਮਾਇਆ ਵੇ ਸਭ ਕਾਲਖਾ ਇਨਿ ਮਨਮੁਖਿ ਮੂੜਿ ਸਜੁਤੀਆ ॥
moh maa-i-aa vay sabh kaalkhaa in manmukh moorh sajutee-aa.
The love for worldly riches and power brings total disgrace, but this foolish, self-willed person is attached to it.
ਮਾਇਆ ਦਾ ਮੋਹ ਨਿਰੀ ਕਾਲਖ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਦੇ ਮੁਰੀਦ ਇਸ ਮੂਰਖ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ (ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਕਾਲਖ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ) ਜੋੜ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਉਬਰੇ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦੀ ਹਉਮੈ ਛੁਟੀਆ ॥੧॥
jan naanak gurmukh ubray gur sabdee ha-umai chhutee-aa. ||1||
O’ devotee Nanak, the Guru’s followers are saved and liberated from the ego through the Guru’s divine word. ||1||
ਹੇ ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਆਖ-ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਮਨਮੁਖ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਇਸ ਹਉਮੈ ਤੋਂ) ਬਚ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹਉਮੈ ਤੋਂ ਖ਼ਲਾਸੀ ਮਿਲ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਵਸਿ ਆਣਿਹੁ ਵੇ ਜਨ ਇਸੁ ਮਨ ਕਉ ਮਨੁ ਬਾਸੇ ਜਿਉ ਨਿਤ ਭਉਦਿਆ ॥
vas aanihu vay jan is man ka-o man baasay ji-o nit bha-udi-aa.
O’ mortal, bring your mind under control, which keeps on wandering in search of worldly wealth like a falcon.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! (ਆਪਣੇ) ਇਸ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ (ਸਦਾ ਆਪਣੇ) ਵੱਸ ਵਿਚ ਰੱਖੋ। (ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਇਹ) ਮਨ ਸਦਾ (ਸ਼ਿਕਾਰੀ ਪੰਛੀ) ਬਾਸ਼ੇ ਵਾਂਗ ਭਟਕਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਦੁਖਿ ਰੈਣਿ ਵੇ ਵਿਹਾਣੀਆ ਨਿਤ ਆਸਾ ਆਸ ਕਰੇਦਿਆ ॥
dukh rain vay vihaanee-aa nit aasaa aas karaydi-aa.
Every day hoping for more wealth, the entire night of human life passes in pain.
ਸਦਾ ਆਸਾਂ ਹੀ ਆਸਾਂ ਬਣਾਂਦਿਆਂ (ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਦੀ) ਰਾਤ ਦੁੱਖ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਬੀਤਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਗੁਰੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਵੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨੋ ਮਨਿ ਆਸ ਪੂਰੀ ਹਰਿ ਚਉਦਿਆ ॥
gur paa-i-aa vay sant jano man aas pooree har cha-udi-aa.
O’ saintly people, one who is united with the Guru, the desire of his mind gets fulfilled by remembering God with loving devotion.
ਹੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨੋ! ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲ ਪਿਆ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਦਿਆਂ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਦੀ ਆਸ ਪੂਰੀ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਦੇਹੁ ਮਤੀ ਛਡਿ ਆਸਾ ਨਿਤ ਸੁਖਿ ਸਉਦਿਆ ॥੨॥
jan naanak parabh dayh matee chhad aasaa nit sukh sa-udi-aa. ||2||
O’ God! bless devotee Nanak with such wisdom, that he may renounce his desire for worldly riches and may always dwell in celestial peace. ||2||
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ ਨੂੰਸੂਝ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਆਸਾਂ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਰਹੇ ॥੨॥
ਸਾ ਧਨ ਆਸਾ ਚਿਤਿ ਕਰੇ ਰਾਮ ਰਾਜਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸੇਜੜੀਐ ਆਈ ॥
saa Dhan aasaa chit karay raam raaji-aa har parabh sayjrhee-ai aa-ee.
The soul bride hopes in her mind and says: O’ God, the Sovereign king! please manifest in my heart.
ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਵਿਚ ਆਸ ਕਰਦੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਆਖਦੀ ਹੈ,ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਾਤਿਸ਼ਾਹ! ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! (ਮੇਰੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਦੀ) ਸੋਹਣੀ ਸੇਜ ਉੱਤੇ ਆ ਵੱਸ।
ਮੇਰਾ ਠਾਕੁਰੁ ਅਗਮ ਦਇਆਲੁ ਹੈ ਰਾਮ ਰਾਜਿਆ ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਲੇਹੁ ਮਿਲਾਈ ॥
mayraa thaakur agam da-i-aal hai raam raaji-aa kar kirpaa layho milaa-ee.
O’ God, the sovereign king! You are my compassionate and inaccessible Master, please bestow mercy and unite me with Yourself.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਾਤਿਸ਼ਾਹ! ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੈਂ, ਦਇਆ ਦਾ ਸੋਮਾ ਹੈਂ, ਅਪਹੁੰਚ ਹੈਂ ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਮਿਲਾ ਲੈ।
