ਸੂਹੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ਗੁਣਵੰਤੀ ॥

Raag Soohee, Fifth Guru, Gunvantee (the worthy and virtuous bride):
ਜੋ ਦੀਸੈ ਗੁਰਸਿਖੜਾ ਤਿਸੁ ਨਿਵਿ ਨਿਵਿ ਲਾਗਉ ਪਾਇ ਜੀਉ ॥
jo deesai gursikh-rhaa tis niv niv laaga-o paa-ay jee-o.
Whosoever looks to me a loving disciple of the Guru, I humbly bow and touch his feet.
ਮੈਨੂੰ ਜੇਹੜਾ ਭੀ ਕੋਈ ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਸਿੱਖ ਮਿਲ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਮੈਂ ਨੀਊਂ ਨੀਊਂ ਕੇ (ਨਿਮ੍ਰਤਾ-ਅਧੀਨਗੀ ਨਾਲ) ਉਸ ਦੀ ਪੈਰੀਂ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹਾਂ,
ਆਖਾ ਬਿਰਥਾ ਜੀਅ ਕੀ ਗੁਰੁ ਸਜਣੁ ਦੇਹਿ ਮਿਲਾਇ ਜੀਉ ॥
aakhaa birthaa jee-a kee gur sajan deh milaa-ay jee-o.
I tell him about my heart’s craving and ask him to unite me with the Guru, my best friend.
ਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਪੀੜਾ (ਤਾਂਘ) ਦੱਸਦਾ ਹਾਂ (ਤੇ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ-ਹੇ ਗੁਰਸਿੱਖ!) ਮੈਨੂੰ ਸੱਜਣ-ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲਾ ਦੇ।
ਸੋਈ ਦਸਿ ਉਪਦੇਸੜਾ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨੁ ਅਨਤ ਨ ਕਾਹੂ ਜਾਇ ਜੀਉ ॥
so-ee das updaysrhaa mayraa man anat na kaahoo jaa-ay jee-o.
I ask him to give me such an understanding that my mind may not wander anywhere else.
ਮੈਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਅਜੇਹਾ ਸੋਹਣਾ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਦੱਸ (ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ) ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨ ਕਿਸੇ ਹੋਰ ਪਾਸੇ ਵਲ ਨਾਹ ਜਾਏ।
ਇਹੁ ਮਨੁ ਤੈ ਕੂੰ ਡੇਵਸਾ ਮੈ ਮਾਰਗੁ ਦੇਹੁ ਬਤਾਇ ਜੀਉ ॥
ih man tai kooN dayvsaa mai maarag dayh bataa-ay jee-o.
I would surrender my mind to you, if you tell me the way to meet the Guru.
ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣਾ ਇਹ ਮਨ ਤੇਰੇ ਹਵਾਲੇ ਕਰ ਦਿਆਂਗਾ, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਮਿਲਣ ਦਾ ਰਸਤਾ ਦੱਸ
ਹਉ ਆਇਆ ਦੂਰਹੁ ਚਲਿ ਕੈ ਮੈ ਤਕੀ ਤਉ ਸਰਣਾਇ ਜੀਉ ॥
ha-o aa-i-aa Dhoorahu chal kai mai takee ta-o sarnaa-ay jee-o.
I have come from a very far off distance, and now I have sought your refuge.
ਮੈਂਦੂਰ ਦੇ ਪੈਂਡੇ ਤੋਂ ਤੁਰ ਕੇ ਆਇਆ ਹਾਂ, ਹੁਣ ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਤੱਕਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਮੈ ਆਸਾ ਰਖੀ ਚਿਤਿ ਮਹਿ ਮੇਰਾ ਸਭੋ ਦੁਖੁ ਗਵਾਇ ਜੀਉ ॥
mai aasaa rakhee chit meh mayraa sabho dukh gavaa-ay jee-o.
I have this hope in my mind, that you would help me dispel all my sorrows.
ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਵਿਚ ਇਹ ਆਸ ਰੱਖੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰਾ ਸਾਰਾ ਦੁੱਖ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਦੇਵੇਂਗਾ।
ਇਤੁ ਮਾਰਗਿ ਚਲੇ ਭਾਈਅੜੇ ਗੁਰੁ ਕਹੈ ਸੁ ਕਾਰ ਕਮਾਇ ਜੀਉ ॥
it maarag chalay bhaa-ee-arhay gur kahai so kaar kamaa-ay jee-o.
O’ my brother, if you walk on this path, then do whatever the Guru says.
ਹੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਭਰਾ, ਜੋ ਤੂੰਇਸ ਰਸਤੇ ਉਤੇ ਚਲੇ ਤਾਂ ਤੂੰ ਭੀ ਉਹੀ ਕਾਰ ਕਰ ਜੋ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਤਿਆਗੇਂ ਮਨ ਕੀ ਮਤੜੀ ਵਿਸਾਰੇਂ ਦੂਜਾ ਭਾਉ ਜੀਉ ॥
ti-aagayN man kee mat-rhee visaarayN doojaa bhaa-o jee-o.
Abandon the intellectual pursuits of your own mind, and forsake the love of duality, the worldly riches and power.
ਜੇ ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਦੀ ਕੋਝੀ ਮਤਿ ਛੱਡ ਦੇਵੇਂ, ਜੇ ਤੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਹੋਰ (ਮਾਇਆ ਆਦਿਕ) ਦਾ ਪਿਆਰ ਭੁਲਾ ਦੇਵੇਂ,
ਇਉ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਹਰਿ ਦਰਸਾਵੜਾ ਨਹ ਲਗੈ ਤਤੀ ਵਾਉ ਜੀਉ ॥
i-o paavahi har darsaavarhaa nah lagai tatee vaa-o jee-o.
This way, you would experience a beautiful glimpse of God, and you would not be afflicted with the slightest misery.
ਤਾਂ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਸੋਹਣਾ ਦਰਸਨ ਕਰ ਲਵੇਂਗਾ, ਤੈਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਦੁੱਖ-ਕਲੇਸ਼ ਨਹੀਂ ਵਿਆਪੇਗਾ।
ਹਉ ਆਪਹੁ ਬੋਲਿ ਨ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਮੈ ਕਹਿਆ ਸਭੁ ਹੁਕਮਾਉ ਜੀਉ ॥
ha-o aaphu bol na jaandaa mai kahi-aa sabh hukmaa-o jee-o.
Whatever I have told you, is the Guru’s command; on my own, I don’t know to say anything
ਮੈਂ ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਹੈ ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਹੁਕਮ ਹੀ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਹੈ, ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਤਾਂ ਮੈਂ ਕੁਝ ਕਹਿਣਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦਾ।
ਹਰਿ ਭਗਤਿ ਖਜਾਨਾ ਬਖਸਿਆ ਗੁਰਿ ਨਾਨਕਿ ਕੀਆ ਪਸਾਉ ਜੀਉ ॥
har bhagat khajaanaa bakhsi-aa gur naanak kee-aa pasaa-o jee-o.
Guru Nanak bestowed mercy on me and blessed me with the treasure of God’s devotional worship.
ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਉਤੇ ਰਹਿਮਤ ਧਾਰੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੇਮਮਈ ਸੇਵਾ ਦਾ ਭੰਡਾਰ ਪਰਦਾਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ।
ਮੈ ਬਹੁੜਿ ਨ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਭੁਖੜੀ ਹਉ ਰਜਾ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਿ ਅਘਾਇ ਜੀਉ ॥
mai bahurh na tarisnaa bhukh-rhee ha-o rajaa taripat aghaa-ay jee-o.
Now I feel no yearning for the love Maya, the worldly riches and power, and I feel fully satiated.
ਮੈਂ ਪੂਰਨ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਰੱਜ ਗਿਆ ਹਾਂ, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਹੁਣ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ ਕੋਈ ਭੁੱਖ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਤਾਂਦੀ।
ਜੋ ਗੁਰ ਦੀਸੈ ਸਿਖੜਾ ਤਿਸੁ ਨਿਵਿ ਨਿਵਿ ਲਾਗਉ ਪਾਇ ਜੀਉ ॥੩॥
jo gur deesai sikh-rhaa tis niv niv laaga-o paa-ay jee-o. ||3||

ਮੈਨੂੰ ਜੇਹੜਾ ਭੀ ਕੋਈ ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਸਿੱਖ ਮਿਲ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਮੈਂ ਨਿਮ੍ਰਤਾ-ਅਧੀਨਗੀ ਨਾਲ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਪੈਰੀਂ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹਾਂ ॥੩॥

ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥
ik-oNkaar satgur parsaad.
One eternal God, realized by the grace of the True Guru.
ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਭਰਿ ਜੋਬਨਿ ਮੈ ਮਤ ਪੇਈਅੜੈ ਘਰਿ ਪਾਹੁਣੀ ਬਲਿ ਰਾਮ ਜੀਉ ॥
bhar joban mai mat pay-ee-arhai ghar paahunee bal raam jee-o.
A soul-bride, intoxicated in youth and unaware that she is only a guest in her parent’s house (this world), O’ God! I am dedicated to You.
ਭਰੀ ਜੁਆਨੀ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਰਾਬ ਨਾਲ ਮਤਵਾਲੀ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਇਹ ਭੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਮਝਦੀ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਪੇਕੇ-ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ( ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ) ਉਹ ਇਕ ਪ੍ਰਾਹੁਣੀ ਹੀ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ! ਮੈਂ ਤੈਥੋਂ ਸਦਕੇ ਹਾਂ l
ਮੈਲੀ ਅਵਗਣਿ ਚਿਤਿ ਬਿਨੁ ਗੁਰ ਗੁਣ ਨ ਸਮਾਵਨੀ ਬਲਿ ਰਾਮ ਜੀਉ ॥
mailee avgan chit bin gur gun na samaavanee bal raam jee-o.
Her consciousness is polluted with vices; no virtues can get enshrined in her mind without following the Guru’s teachings.
ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਕਮਾਈ ਨਾਲ ਚਿੱਤ ਵਿਚ ਉਹ ਮੈਲੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਗੁਣ ਟਿਕ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦੇ।
ਗੁਣ ਸਾਰ ਨ ਜਾਣੀ ਭਰਮਿ ਭੁਲਾਣੀ ਜੋਬਨੁ ਬਾਦਿ ਗਵਾਇਆ ॥
gun saar na jaanee bharam bhulaanee joban baad gavaa-i-aa.
Being deluded by doubt she did not understand the worth of God’s virtues, and she wasted away her youth in vain.
ਭਟਕਣਾ ਵਿਚ ਪੈ ਕੇ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦੀ ਕੀਮਤ ਨਾਹ ਸਮਝੀ,ਤੇ ਜਵਾਨੀ ਦਾ ਸਮਾ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਗਵਾ ਲਿਆ।
ਵਰੁ ਘਰੁ ਦਰੁ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਨਹੀ ਜਾਤਾ ਪਿਰ ਕਾ ਸਹਜੁ ਨ ਭਾਇਆ ॥
var ghar dar darsan nahee jaataa pir kaa sahj na bhaa-i-aa.
She did not care to realize her Husband-God dwelling in her heart and did not try to behold Him in His creation; even His poised conduct didn’t appeal to her.
ਉਸ ਨੇ ਖਸਮ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਂਝ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾਈ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਦਰਉਸ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਦਰਸਨ ਦੀ ਕਦਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਛਾਣੀ। ਉਸਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਤੀ ਦਾ ਸੁਭਾਉ ਭੀ ਪਸੰਦ ਨਾ ਆਇਆ।
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪੂਛਿ ਨ ਮਾਰਗਿ ਚਾਲੀ ਸੂਤੀ ਰੈਣਿ ਵਿਹਾਣੀ ॥
satgur poochh na maarag chaalee sootee rain vihaanee.
She did not care to listen to the true Guru’s teachings and did not follow the righteous path; her youth passed away in spiritual ignorance.
ਅਗਿਆਨਤਾਵਿਚ ਸੁੱਤੀ ਹੋਈਦੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਦੀ ਰਾਤ ਬੀਤ ਗਈ, ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇ ਠੀਕ ਰਸਤੇ ਉਤੇ ਕਦੇ ਭੀ ਨਾ ਤੁਰੀ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਬਾਲਤਣਿ ਰਾਡੇਪਾ ਬਿਨੁ ਪਿਰ ਧਨ ਕੁਮਲਾਣੀ ॥੧॥
naanak baaltan raadaypaa bin pir Dhan kumlaanee. ||1||
O’ Nanak, such a soul-bride passes her youth in such a way as if became a widow while still a child; her heart remained unbloomed without meeting herHusband-God. ||1||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਅਜੇਹੀ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਨੇ ਤਾਂ ਬਾਲ-ਉਮਰੇ ਹੀ ਰੰਡੇਪਾ ਸਹੇੜ ਲਿਆ, ਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਤੀ ਦੇ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਹਿਰਦਾ-ਕਮਲ ਕੁਮਲਾਇਆ ਹੀ ਰਿਹਾ ॥੧॥
ਬਾਬਾ ਮੈ ਵਰੁ ਦੇਹਿ ਮੈ ਹਰਿ ਵਰੁ ਭਾਵੈ ਤਿਸ ਕੀ ਬਲਿ ਰਾਮ ਜੀਉ ॥
baabaa mai var deh mai har var bhaavai tis kee bal raam jee-o.
O’ my respected Guru, unite me with my Husband-God, bless me that He may look pleasing to me and I may dedicate myself to Him,
ਹੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ! ਮੈਨੂੰ ਖਸਮ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਮਿਲਾ। (ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰ) ਮੈਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਤੀ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਲੱਗੇ, ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਸਦਕੇ ਜਾਵਾਂ,
ਰਵਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਜੁਗ ਚਾਰਿ ਤ੍ਰਿਭਵਣ ਬਾਣੀ ਜਿਸ ਕੀ ਬਲਿ ਰਾਮ ਜੀਉ ॥
rav rahi-aa jug chaar taribhavan banee jis kee bal raam jee-o.
who is pervading everywhere at all times and whose command prevails overthe universe.
ਜੋ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੈ, ਤਿੰਨਾਂ ਹੀ ਭਵਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਹੁਕਮ ਚੱਲ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
ਤ੍ਰਿਭਵਣ ਕੰਤੁ ਰਵੈ ਸੋਹਾਗਣਿ ਅਵਗਣਵੰਤੀ ਦੂਰੇ ॥
taribhavan kant ravai sohagan avganvantee dooray.
The Master-God of the universe loves the fortunate soul-bride; whereas the unvirtuous one remains separated from Him.
ਤਿੰਨਾਂ ਭਵਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਵਾਲੀ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਨਾਲ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਔਗੁਣ ਹੀ ਔਗੁਣ ਸਹੇੜੇ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਵਿਛੁੜੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਜੈਸੀ ਆਸਾ ਤੈਸੀ ਮਨਸਾ ਪੂਰਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਭਰਪੂਰੇ ॥
jaisee aasaa taisee mansaa poor rahi-aa bharpooray.
God is pervading in all; whatever a soul-bride hopes, He fulfills that.
ਉਹ ਮਾਲਕ ਹਰੇਕ ਵਿਚ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੈਜਿਹੋ ਜਿਹੀ ਆਸ ਧਾਰ ਕੇ ਕੋਈ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਦਰ ਤੇ ਆਉਂਦੀ ਹੈ ਉਹੋ ਜਿਹੀ ਇੱਛਾ ਉਹ ਪੂਰੀ ਕਰ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਹਰਿ ਕੀ ਨਾਰਿ ਸੁ ਸਰਬ ਸੁਹਾਗਣਿ ਰਾਂਡ ਨ ਮੈਲੈ ਵੇਸੇ ॥
har kee naar so sarab suhaagan raaNd na mailai vaysay.
The fortunate soul-bride always remains in God’s presence, she never goes away from Him and her mind never gets soiled with the dirt of vices.
ਜੇਹੜੀ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਤੀ ਦੀ ਬਣੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਹਾਗ-ਭਾਗ ਵਾਲੀ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਕਦੇ ਰੰਡੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦੀ, ਉਸ ਦਾ ਵੇਸ ਕਦੇ ਮੈਲਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ (ਉਸ ਦਾ ਹਿਰਦਾ ਕਦੇ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਮੈਲਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ)।
ਨਾਨਕ ਮੈ ਵਰੁ ਸਾਚਾ ਭਾਵੈ ਜੁਗਿ ਜੁਗਿ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਤੈਸੇ ॥੨॥
naanak mai var saachaa bhaavai jug jug pareetam taisay. ||2||
O’ Nanak, my beloved Husband-God remains the same through the ages and is always very pleasing to me. ||2||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਮੇਰਾਪਿਆਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਤੀ ਹਰੇਕ ਜੁਗ ਵਿਚ ਇਕ-ਸਮਾਨ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ,ਅਤੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਸਦਾਪਿਆਰਾ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ,॥੨॥
ਬਾਬਾ ਲਗਨੁ ਗਣਾਇ ਹੰ ਭੀ ਵੰਞਾ ਸਾਹੁਰੈ ਬਲਿ ਰਾਮ ਜੀਉ ॥
baabaa lagan ganaa-ay haN bhee vanjaa saahurai bal raam jee-o.
O’ my respected Guru, please fix the auspicious date so that I too may go and unite with my Husband-God.
ਹੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ! (ਉਹ) ਮੁਹੂਰਤ ਕਢਾ (ਉਹ ਅਵਸਰ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰ, ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ) ਮੈਂ ਭੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਤੀ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜ ਸਕਾਂ।
ਸਾਹਾ ਹੁਕਮੁ ਰਜਾਇ ਸੋ ਨ ਟਲੈ ਜੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਕਰੈ ਬਲਿ ਰਾਮ ਜੀਉ ॥
saahaa hukam rajaa-ay so na talai jo parabh karai bal raam jee-o.
Whatever time of union is fixed by God’s will, that becomes final and no one can change it.
ਰਜ਼ਾ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੋ ਹੁਕਮ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਮੇਲ ਦਾ ਅਵਸਰ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਅਗਾਂਹ ਪਿਛਾਂਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ।
ਕਿਰਤੁ ਪਇਆ ਕਰਤੈ ਕਰਿ ਪਾਇਆ ਮੇਟਿ ਨ ਸਕੈ ਕੋਈ ॥
kirat pa-i-aa kartai kar paa-i-aa mayt na sakai ko-ee.
Yes, no one can erase what the Creator has preordained for someone according to his past deeds.
ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਕਰਤਾਰ ਨੇਜੋ ਭੀ ਹੁਕਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਉਲੰਘ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ।
ਜਾਞੀ ਨਾਉ ਨਰਹ ਨਿਹਕੇਵਲੁ ਰਵਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਤਿਹੁ ਲੋਈ ॥
jaanjee naa-o narah nihkayval rav rahi-aa tihu lo-ee.
My Groom is that God who is independent of all human beings created by Him, while pervading the three worlds.
ਮੇਰਾ ਲਾੜਾ ਉਹ ਹਰੀ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਆਪਣੇ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤੇ ਬੰਦਿਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਸੁਤੰਤਰ ਹੈ ਫਿਰ ਭੀ ਤਿੰਨਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੈ l
ਮਾਇ ਨਿਰਾਸੀ ਰੋਇ ਵਿਛੁੰਨੀ ਬਾਲੀ ਬਾਲੈ ਹੇਤੇ ॥
maa-ay niraasee ro-ay vichhunnee baalee baalai haytay.
When God unites the soul-bride with Him, her evil intellect grieves like a mother grieves when her daughter leaves after marriage.
ਮਾਇਆ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਕਾਬੂ ਵਿਚ ਰੱਖ ਸਕਣ ਦੀਆਂ ਆਸਾਂ ਲਾਹ ਕੇਰੋ ਕੇ ਵਿਛੁੜਦੀ ਹੈ (ਜਿਵੇਂ ਧੀ ਨੂੰ ਤੋਰਨ ਲੱਗੀ ਮਾਂ ਮੁੜ ਮਿਲਣ ਦੀਆਂ ਆਸਾਂ ਲਾਹ ਕੇ ਰੋ ਕੇ ਵਿਛੁੜਦੀ ਹੈ,
ਨਾਨਕ ਸਾਚ ਸਬਦਿ ਸੁਖ ਮਹਲੀ ਗੁਰ ਚਰਣੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਚੇਤੇ ॥੩॥
naanak saach sabad sukh mahlee gur charnee parabh chaytay. ||3||
O’ Nanak, through the Guru’s divine word, she enshrines God in her heart and enjoys the bliss in God’s presence. ||3||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਵਸਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਤੇ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਵਾਲੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਹਜ਼ੂਰੀ ਵਿਚ ਆਨੰਦ ਮਾਣਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
