ਬਾਬੁਲਿ ਦਿਤੜੀ ਦੂਰਿ ਨਾ ਆਵੈ ਘਰਿ ਪੇਈਐ ਬਲਿ ਰਾਮ ਜੀਉ ॥
baabul dit-rhee door naa aavai ghar pay-ee-ai bal raam jee-o.
My Guru has completely turned my thoughts away from the worldly enticements, so that I may not fall back in the cycles of birth and death.
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ( ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵ ਤੋਂ ਇਤਨੀ) ਦੂਰ ਅਪੜਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਮੁੜ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਦੇ ਗੇੜ ਵਿਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਂਦੀ।
ਰਹਸੀ ਵੇਖਿ ਹਦੂਰਿ ਪਿਰਿ ਰਾਵੀ ਘਰਿ ਸੋਹੀਐ ਬਲਿ ਰਾਮ ਜੀਉ ॥
rahsee vaykh hadoor pir raavee ghar sohee-ai bal raam jee-o.
She is delighted to behold her Husband-God near at hand; when she is pleasing to Him she feels spiritually elevated.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਤੀ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਤੱਖ ਦੀਦਾਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ-ਚਿੱਤ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ। ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਤੀ ਨੇ (ਜਦੋਂ) ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਪਿਆਰ ਕੀਤਾ, ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜ ਕੇ ਉਹ ਆਪਣਾ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਸੰਵਾਰਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਸਾਚੇ ਪਿਰ ਲੋੜੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਜੋੜੀ ਮਤਿ ਪੂਰੀ ਪਰਧਾਨੇ ॥
saachay pir lorhee pareetam jorhee mat pooree parDhaanay.
When the Husband-God considered her deserving, He untied her with Himself; her intellect became perfect, and she was given a prime status.
ਜਦ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਪ੍ਰਭੂਦੇ ਲੇਖੇ ਵਿਚ ਆ ਗਈ,ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾ ਲਿਆ। ਉਸ ਦੀ ਮਤਿ ਉਕਾਈ-ਹੀਣ ਹੋ ਗਈ, ਉਹ ਮੰਨੀ-ਪ੍ਰਮੰਨੀ ਗਈ।
ਸੰਜੋਗੀ ਮੇਲਾ ਥਾਨਿ ਸੁਹੇਲਾ ਗੁਣਵੰਤੀ ਗੁਰ ਗਿਆਨੇ ॥
sanjogee maylaa thaan suhaylaa gunvantee gur gi-aanay.
Because of her good fortune, she was united with her Husband-God and her life became blissful; she became virtuous with the divine wisdom given by the Guru.
ਚੰਗੇ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਸੁਖੀ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ, ਉਹ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਵਾਲੀ ਹੋ ਗਈ, ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਗਿਆਨ ਵਾਲੀ ਹੋ ਗਈ।
ਸਤੁ ਸੰਤੋਖੁ ਸਦਾ ਸਚੁ ਪਲੈ ਸਚੁ ਬੋਲੈ ਪਿਰ ਭਾਏ ॥
sat santokh sadaa sach palai sach bolai pir bhaa-ay.
Now there is always truth and contentment in her mind, and she always lovingly remembers God and becomes pleasing to Him.
ਸਤ ਤੇ ਸੰਤੋਖਸਦਾ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਸਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਸਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰੀ ਲੱਗਣ ਲੱਗ ਪੈਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਵਿਛੁੜਿ ਨਾ ਦੁਖੁ ਪਾਏ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਅੰਕਿ ਸਮਾਏ ॥੪॥੧॥
naanak vichhurh naa dukh paa-ay gurmat ank samaa-ay. ||4||1||
O’ Nanak, she does not suffer pain of separation from her Husband-God, and remains united with God by following the Guru’s teachings. ||4||1||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂਤੋਂ ਵਿਛੁੜ ਕੇ ਦੁੱਖ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾਂਦੀ, ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਦੁਆਰਾਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਗੋਦ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਲੀਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੪॥੧॥

One eternal God, realized by the grace of the True Guru.
ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਹਮ ਘਰਿ ਸਾਜਨ ਆਏ ॥
ham ghar saajan aa-ay.
My dear friend-God has become manifest in my heart.
ਮੇਰੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ-ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਮਿੱਤਰ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ ਆ ਪ੍ਰਗਟੇ ਹਨ।
ਸਾਚੈ ਮੇਲਿ ਮਿਲਾਏ ॥
saachai mayl milaa-ay.
The eternal God has united me with Himself
ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਜੋੜ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਸਹਜਿ ਮਿਲਾਏ ਹਰਿ ਮਨਿ ਭਾਏ ਪੰਚ ਮਿਲੇ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥
sahj milaa-ay har man bhaa-ay panch milay sukh paa-i-aa.
Because of this union, I am in spiritual equipoise and God seems pleasing to my mind; my sensory organs are united in God’s love and I am enjoying bliss.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ, ਹੁਣ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਲੱਗ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ, ਮੇਰੇ ਪੰਜੇ ਗਿਆਨ-ਇੰਦ੍ਰੇਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਿਆਰ ਵਿਚ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਹੋ ਬੈਠੇ ਹਨ, ਮੈਂ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਸਾਈ ਵਸਤੁ ਪਰਾਪਤਿ ਹੋਈ ਜਿਸੁ ਸੇਤੀ ਮਨੁ ਲਾਇਆ ॥
saa-ee vasat paraapat ho-ee jis saytee man laa-i-aa.
I have received that thing, the wealth of Naam, for which my mind was longing.
ਜਿਸ ਨਾਮ-ਵਸਤੂ ਦੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਤਾਂਘ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋ ਰਹੀ ਸੀ, ਉਹ ਹੁਣ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਗਈ ਹੈ।
ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਮੇਲੁ ਭਇਆ ਮਨੁ ਮਾਨਿਆ ਘਰ ਮੰਦਰ ਸੋਹਾਏ ॥
an-din mayl bha-i-aa man maani-aa ghar mandar sohaa-ay.
My mind is fully satiated because it always remains united with God’s name; my heart and sensory organs have become beauteous.
ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਨਾਲ ਮੇਰਾ ਮੇਲ ਬਣਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨ ਸੰਤੁਸ਼ਟ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ, ਮੇਰਾ ਹਿਰਦਾ ਤੇ ਗਿਆਨ-ਇੰਦ੍ਰੇ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਹਨ।
ਪੰਚ ਸਬਦ ਧੁਨਿ ਅਨਹਦ ਵਾਜੇ ਹਮ ਘਰਿ ਸਾਜਨ ਆਏ ॥੧॥
panch sabad Dhun anhad vaajay ham ghar saajan aa-ay. ||1||
My friend God has manifest Himself in my heart, I feel as if the celestial tunes of five musical instruments are playing within me continuously. ||1||
ਮੇਰੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ-ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਸੱਜਣ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ ਆ ਪ੍ਰਗਟੇ ਹਨ, ਪੰਜ ਕਿਸਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਾਜ ਲਗਾਤਾਰ ਮਿਲਵੀਂ ਸੁਰ ਵਿਚ ਮੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਵੱਜ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ ॥੧॥
ਆਵਹੁ ਮੀਤ ਪਿਆਰੇ ॥
aavhu meet pi-aaray.
O’ my dear friends, please come!
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਗਿਆਨ-ਇੰਦ੍ਰਿਓ! ਆਓ!
ਮੰਗਲ ਗਾਵਹੁ ਨਾਰੇ ॥
mangal gaavhu naaray. Yes,
O’ my friends, sing the blissful praises of God.
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਸਹੇਲੀਓ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੇ ਗੀਤ ਗਾਵੋ ਜੋ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਹੁਲਾਰਾ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਸਚੁ ਮੰਗਲੁ ਗਾਵਹੁ ਤਾ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਭਾਵਹੁ ਸੋਹਿਲੜਾ ਜੁਗ ਚਾਰੇ ॥
sach mangal gaavhu taa parabh bhaavahu sohilrhaa jug chaaray.
Sing joyous songs of God’s praises, the songs which remain blissful throughout the ages, only then you would become pleasing to Him.
ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦਾ ਉਹ ਗੀਤ ਗਾਵੋ ਜੋ ਚਹੁ ਜੁਗਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਆਤਮਕ ਹੁਲਾਰਾ ਦੇਈ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਦੋਂ ਹੀ ਤੁਸੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗੀਆਂ ਲੱਗੋਗੀਆਂ।
ਅਪਨੈ ਘਰਿ ਆਇਆ ਥਾਨਿ ਸੁਹਾਇਆ ਕਾਰਜ ਸਬਦਿ ਸਵਾਰੇ ॥
apnai ghar aa-i-aa thaan suhaa-i-aa kaaraj sabad savaaray.
God has manifested in my heart, which is His abode, due to which my heart has become embellished; the Guru’s word has accomplished the purpose of my life.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ) ਆਪਣੇ ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਆਇਆ ਹੈ, ਮੇਰੇ ਹਿਰਦਾ-ਥਾਂਸੋਭਾ ਦੇ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਜੀਵਨ-ਮਨੋਰਥ ਸਵਾਰ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਹਨ।
ਗਿਆਨ ਮਹਾ ਰਸੁ ਨੇਤ੍ਰੀ ਅੰਜਨੁ ਤ੍ਰਿਭਵਣ ਰੂਪੁ ਦਿਖਾਇਆ ॥
gi-aan mahaa ras naytree anjan taribhavan roop dikhaa-i-aa.
I have applied the drops of sublime elixir of divine wisdom to my eye, and with these spiritually enlightened eyes I have seen God pervading the universe.
ਬ੍ਰਹਿਮ ਗਿਆਨ ਦੇ ਪਰਮ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਾਂ ਦਾ ਸੁਰਮਾ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਾ ਕੇ, ਮੈਂ ਤਿੰਨਾਂ ਹੀ ਜਹਾਨਾਂ ਅੰਦਰ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦਾ ਸਰੂਪ ਵੇਖ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਸਖੀ ਮਿਲਹੁ ਰਸਿ ਮੰਗਲੁ ਗਾਵਹੁ ਹਮ ਘਰਿ ਸਾਜਨੁ ਆਇਆ ॥੨॥
sakhee milhu ras mangal gaavhu ham ghar saajan aa-i-aa. ||2||
My beloved God has manifested in my heart; O’ my friends, come and join me and sing the blissful songs of His praises. ||2||
ਹੇ ਸਹੇਲੀਓ! ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜੋ ਤੇ ਆਨੰਦ ਨਾਲ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦਾ ਉਹ ਗੀਤ ਗਾਵੋ ਜੋ ਆਤਮਕ ਹੁਲਾਰਾ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਮੇਰੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ-ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਸੱਜਣ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆ ਪ੍ਰਗਟਿਆ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਿ ਭਿੰਨਾ ॥
man tan amrit bhinnaa.
O’ my friends, my mind and body are imbued with ambrosial nectar of Naam,
(ਹੇ ਸਹੇਲੀਹੋ!) ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨ ਤੇ ਸਰੀਰ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਨਾਮ-ਜਲ ਨਾਲ ਭਿੱਜ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ,
ਅੰਤਰਿ ਪ੍ਰੇਮੁ ਰਤੰਨਾ ॥
antar paraym ratannaa.
and the jewel- like precious love for God’s Name has welled up within me.
ਮੇਰੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ-ਰਤਨ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋ ਪਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਅੰਤਰਿ ਰਤਨੁ ਪਦਾਰਥੁ ਮੇਰੈ ਪਰਮ ਤਤੁ ਵੀਚਾਰੋ ॥
antar ratan padaarath mayrai param tat veechaaro.
Priceless gem- like spiritual wisdom to contemplate the virtues of supreme God has welled up within me
ਮੇਰੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦੀ ਵਿਚਾਰ (ਦਾ ਇਕ ਐਸਾ) ਸੋਹਣਾ ਰਤਨ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋ ਪਿਆ ਹੈ,
ਜੰਤ ਭੇਖ ਤੂ ਸਫਲਿਓ ਦਾਤਾ ਸਿਰਿ ਸਿਰਿ ਦੇਵਣਹਾਰੋ ॥
jant bhaykh too safli-o daataa sir sir dayvanhaaro.
O’ God, all beings are beggars and You are the only bestower of rewards; You are the benefactor of all the beings.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਸਾਰੇ ਜੀਵਭਿਖਾਰੀ ਹਨ) ਤੂੰ ਸਮੂਹ ਫਲ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦਾ ਦਾਤਾ ਹੈਂ।
ਤੂ ਜਾਨੁ ਗਿਆਨੀ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ਆਪੇ ਕਾਰਣੁ ਕੀਨਾ ॥
too jaan gi-aanee antarjaamee aapay kaaran keenaa.
You are wise, knowledgeable and omniscient; You have created the world.
ਤੂੰ ਸਿਆਣਾ ਹੈਂ, ਗਿਆਨ-ਵਾਨ ਹੈਂ, ਹਰੇਕ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਇਹ (ਸਾਰਾ) ਜਗਤ ਰਚਿਆ ਹੈ l
ਸੁਨਹੁ ਸਖੀ ਮਨੁ ਮੋਹਨਿ ਮੋਹਿਆ ਤਨੁ ਮਨੁ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਿ ਭੀਨਾ ॥੩॥
sunhu sakhee man mohan mohi-aa tan man amrit bheenaa. ||3||
Listen O’ my friends, God has enticed my mind; my mind and body is imbued with ambrosial nectar of His Name. ||3||
ਹੇ ਸਹੇਲੀਓ!ਸੁਣੋ ਮੋਹਨ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨ ਆਪਣੇ ਵੱਸ ਵਿਚ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ, ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨ, ਤਨ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ-ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਨਾਲ ਭਿੱਜਾ ਪਿਆ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਆਤਮ ਰਾਮੁ ਸੰਸਾਰਾ ॥
aatam raam sansaaraa.
O’ God, You are the life of the world,
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੂੰ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਦੀ ਜਿੰਦ-ਜਾਨ ਹੈਂ,
ਸਾਚਾ ਖੇਲੁ ਤੁਮ੍ਹ੍ਹਾਰਾ ॥
saachaa khayl tumHaaraa.
this world is the true play created by You.
ਇਹ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਚ-ਮੁਚ ਦੀ ਰਚੀ ਹੋਈ ਖੇਡ ਹੈ (
ਸਚੁ ਖੇਲੁ ਤੁਮ੍ਹ੍ਹਾਰਾ ਅਗਮ ਅਪਾਰਾ ਤੁਧੁ ਬਿਨੁ ਕਉਣੁ ਬੁਝਾਏ ॥
sach khayl tumHaaraa agam apaaraa tuDh bin ka-un bujhaa-ay.
O’ inaccessible and infinite God, this world is truly a play and without You who else can make us understand this?
ਹੇ ਅਪਹੁੰਚ ਤੇ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਇਹ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਚ-ਮੁਚ ਦੀ ਰਚੀ ਹੋਈ ਇਕ ਖੇਡ ਹੈ (ਇਹ ਅਸਲੀਅਤ) ਤੈਥੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਕੋਈ ਸਮਝਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ।
ਸਿਧ ਸਾਧਿਕ ਸਿਆਣੇ ਕੇਤੇ ਤੁਝ ਬਿਨੁ ਕਵਣੁ ਕਹਾਏ ॥
siDh saaDhik si-aanay kaytay tujh bin kavan kahaa-ay.
There are numerous seekers, holy and wise men; but without Your grace, how can anybody be called anything?
ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਹੀ ਪੁੱਗੇ ਹੋਏ ਜੋਗੀ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਹੀ ਸਾਧਨਾਂ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਤੇ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਹੀ ਸਿਆਣੇਇਨਸਾਨ ਹਨ ਪਰ ਤੇਰੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਦੇ ਬਾਝੋਂ ਕੌਣ ਕੋਈ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਕੁਛ ਅਖਵਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ?
ਕਾਲੁ ਬਿਕਾਲੁ ਭਏ ਦੇਵਾਨੇ ਮਨੁ ਰਾਖਿਆ ਗੁਰਿ ਠਾਏ ॥
kaal bikaal bha-ay dayvaanay man raakhi-aa gur thaa-ay.
One whose mind is united with God by the Guru, his cycle of birth and death ends.
ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਜੋੜਿਆ, ਉਸ ਦਾ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਦਾ ਗੇੜ ਮੁੱਕ ਗਿਆ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਅਵਗਣ ਸਬਦਿ ਜਲਾਏ ਗੁਣ ਸੰਗਮਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਪਾਏ ॥੪॥੧॥੨॥
naanak avgan sabad jalaa-ay gun sangam parabh paa-ay. ||4||1||2||
O’ Nanak, he who has burnt away his sins through the Guru’s word, has realized God by associating with virtues. ||4||1||2||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ!ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਔਗੁਣ ਸਾੜ ਲਏ, ਉਸ ਨੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਲੱਭ ਲਿਆ ॥੪॥੧॥੨॥

ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥
ik-oNkaar satgur parsaad.
One eternal God, realized by the grace of the True Guru.
ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਆਵਹੁ ਸਜਣਾ ਹਉ ਦੇਖਾ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਤੇਰਾ ਰਾਮ ॥
aavhu sajnaa ha-o daykhaa darsan tayraa raam.
O’ my dear God, please come so that I am able to have a glimpse of You,
ਹੇ ਸੱਜਣ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਆ, ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰਾ ਦਰਸਨ ਕਰ ਸਕਾਂ,
ਘਰਿ ਆਪਨੜੈ ਖੜੀ ਤਕਾ ਮੈ ਮਨਿ ਚਾਉ ਘਨੇਰਾ ਰਾਮ ॥
ghar aapnarhai kharhee takaa mai man chaa-o ghanayraa raam.
I am anxiously waiting for You because I have a huge craving in my heart for Your blessed vision.
ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪੂਰੀ ਸਾਵਧਾਨਤਾ ਨਾਲ ਤੇਰੀ ਉਡੀਕ ਕਰ ਰਹੀ ਹਾਂ, ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਬੜਾ ਹੀ ਚਾਉ ਹੈ ।
ਮਨਿ ਚਾਉ ਘਨੇਰਾ ਸੁਣਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮੇਰਾ ਮੈ ਤੇਰਾ ਭਰਵਾਸਾ ॥
man chaa-o ghanayraa sun parabh mayraa mai tayraa bharvaasaa.
O’ my God! listen to my prayer, I have an immense longing for Your blessed vision and I have Your support only.
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! (ਮੇਰੀ ਬੇਨਤੀ) ਸੁਣ, ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ (ਤੇਰੇ ਦਰਸਨ ਲਈ) ਬੜਾ ਹੀ ਚਾਉ ਹੈ, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਸਰਾ ਭੀ ਤੇਰਾ ਹੀ ਹੈ।
ਦਰਸਨੁ ਦੇਖਿ ਭਈ ਨਿਹਕੇਵਲ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਣ ਦੁਖੁ ਨਾਸਾ ॥
darsan daykh bha-ee nihkayval janam maran dukh naasaa.
O’ God! that soul-bride who had a glimpse of You, became detached from worldly bonds and her pain of birth and death vanished.
(ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ!) ਜਿਸ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਨੇ ਤੇਰਾ ਦਰਸਨ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ, ਉਹ ਪਵਿੱਤ੍ਰ-ਆਤਮਾ ਹੋ ਗਈ, ਉਸ ਦਾ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਦਾ ਦੁੱਖ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ।
