ਜਉ ਮੈ ਰੂਪ ਕੀਏ ਬਹੁਤੇਰੇ ਅਬ ਫੁਨਿ ਰੂਪੁ ਨ ਹੋਈ ॥
ja-o mai roop kee-ay bahutayray ab fun roop na ho-ee.
I have wandered through many different births in the past, but now I am not going to take any new birth.
ਮੈਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਜਨਮਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਟਕ ਚੁੱਕਾ ਹਾਂ ਹੁਣ ਮੈਂ ਹੋਰ ਸਰੂਪ ਧਾਰਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ।
ਤਾਗਾ ਤੰਤੁ ਸਾਜੁ ਸਭੁ ਥਾਕਾ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਬਸਿ ਹੋਈ ॥੧॥
taagaa tant saaj sabh thaakaa raam naam bas ho-ee. ||1||
The worldly attachments which were keeping my mind away from God are now broken and my mind is completely under the control of God’s Name. ||1||
ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਦਾ ਮੋਹ ਦਾ ਧਾਗਾ, ਮੋਹ ਦੀ ਤਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਮੋਹ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਅਡੰਬਰ ਸਭ ਮੁੱਕ ਗਏ ਹਨ; ਹੁਣ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਵੱਸ ਵਿਚ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਅਬ ਮੋਹਿ ਨਾਚਨੋ ਨ ਆਵੈ ॥
ab mohi naachno na aavai.
Now I no longer dance to the tune of worldly attachments,
(ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ) ਹੁਣ ਮੈਂ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਹੱਥਾਂ ਤੇ ਨੱਚਣੋਂ ਹਟ ਗਿਆ ਹਾਂ,
ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨੁ ਮੰਦਰੀਆ ਨ ਬਜਾਵੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
mayraa man mandaree-aa na bajaavai. ||1|| rahaa-o.
and my mind no longer beats the drum of worldly allurements. ||1||Pause||
ਹੁਣ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨ ਇਹ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਦੀ) ਢੋਲਕੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਵਜਾਉਂਦਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਕਾਮੁ ਕ੍ਰੋਧੁ ਮਾਇਆ ਲੈ ਜਾਰੀ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਗਾਗਰਿ ਫੂਟੀ ॥
kaam kroDh maa-i-aa lai jaaree tarisnaa gaagar footee.
I have burnt away all my lust, anger and the influence of Maya; the pitcher of worldly desires within me is smashed.
(ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ) ਮੈਂ ਕਾਮ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਤੇ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵ ਨੂੰ ਸਾੜ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ, (ਮੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ) ਤ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨਾ ਦੀ ਮਟਕੀ ਟੁੱਟ ਗਈ ਹੈ,
ਕਾਮ ਚੋਲਨਾ ਭਇਆ ਹੈ ਪੁਰਾਨਾ ਗਇਆ ਭਰਮੁ ਸਭੁ ਛੂਟੀ ॥੨॥
kaam cholnaa bha-i-aa hai puraanaa ga-i-aa bharam sabh chhootee. ||2||
My garb of desire for lust is worn out, and all my doubts have vanished. ||2||
ਮੇਰਾ ਕਾਮ ਦਾ ਕੋਝਾ ਚੋਲਾ ਹੁਣ ਪੁਰਾਣਾ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ, ਭਟਕਣਾ ਮੁੱਕ ਗਈ ਹੈ। , ਸਾਰੀ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ ਖੇਡ ਹੀ) ਖ਼ਤਮ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਸਰਬ ਭੂਤ ਏਕੈ ਕਰਿ ਜਾਨਿਆ ਚੂਕੇ ਬਾਦ ਬਿਬਾਦਾ ॥
sarab bhoot aykai kar jaani-aa chookay baad bibaadaa.
Now I see one God pervading in all beings, therefore, all my enmities with others have vanished.
ਮੈਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਹੁਣ ਇੱਕ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਸਮਝ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ, ਇਸ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਵੈਰ-ਵਿਰੋਧ ਮੁੱਕ ਗਏ ਹਨ।
ਕਹਿ ਕਬੀਰ ਮੈ ਪੂਰਾ ਪਾਇਆ ਭਏ ਰਾਮ ਪਰਸਾਦਾ ॥੩॥੬॥੨੮॥
kahi kabeer mai pooraa paa-i-aa bha-ay raam parsaadaa. ||3||6||28||
Kabeer says, God has bestowed grace and I have realized the perfect God. ||3||6||28||
ਕਬੀਰ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ-ਮੇਰੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਹੈ, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਪੂਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਮਿਲ ਪਿਆ ਹੈ ॥੩॥੬॥੨੮॥

ਰੋਜਾ ਧਰੈ ਮਨਾਵੈ ਅਲਹੁ ਸੁਆਦਤਿ ਜੀਅ ਸੰਘਾਰੈ ॥
rojaa Dharai manaavai alhu su-aadat jee-a sanghaarai.
O’ mortal, you observe fasts to please God but kill living beings for your own taste.
ਤੂੰ ਅੱਲਾ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਸੰਨ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਰੋਜ਼ਾ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈਂ ਅਤੇ (ਦੂਜੇ ਪਾਸੇ) ਆਪਣੇ ਸੁਆਦ ਖਾਤਰ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰਦਾ ਹੈਂ,
ਆਪਾ ਦੇਖਿ ਅਵਰ ਨਹੀ ਦੇਖੈ ਕਾਹੇ ਕਉ ਝਖ ਮਾਰੈ ॥੧॥
aapaa daykh avar nahee daykhai kaahay ka-o jhakh maarai. ||1||
You look after your own interests but do not see the interests of others; what a useless pursuit is that? ||1||
ਆਪਣੇ ਸੁਆਰਥ ਨੂੰ ਅੱਗੇ ਰੱਖ ਕੇ ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਪਰਵਾਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ; ਇਹ ਸਭ ਉੱਦਮ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਝਖਾਂ ਮਾਰਨ ਵਾਲੀ ਗੱਲ ਹੀ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਕਾਜੀ ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਏਕੁ ਤੋਹੀ ਮਹਿ ਤੇਰਾ ਸੋਚਿ ਬਿਚਾਰਿ ਨ ਦੇਖੈ ॥
kaajee saahib ayk tohee meh tayraa soch bichaar na daykhai.
O’ Qazi, there is only one Master-God of the entire world; He is your Master too and is residing in you, but you do not reflect on Him.
ਹੇ ਕਾਜ਼ੀ! (ਸਾਰੇ ਜਗਤ ਦਾ) ਮਾਲਕ ਇੱਕ ਰੱਬ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਤੇਰਾ ਭੀ ਰੱਬ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਭੀ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਤੂੰ ਸੋਚ-ਵਿਚਾਰ ਕੇ ਤੱਕਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ।
ਖਬਰਿ ਨ ਕਰਹਿ ਦੀਨ ਕੇ ਬਉਰੇ ਤਾ ਤੇ ਜਨਮੁ ਅਲੇਖੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
khabar na karahi deen kay ba-uray taa tay janam alaykhai. ||1|| rahaa-o.
Being fanatic about your own faith, you do not understand the reality about God, therefore, your life is passing in vain.||1||Pause||
ਹੇ ਸ਼ਰਹ ਵਿਚ ਕਮਲੇ ਹੋਏ ਕਾਜ਼ੀ! ਤੂੰ ਇਸ ਭੇਤ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਝਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ, ਇਸ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਤੇਰਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਅਜਾਈਂ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਸਾਚੁ ਕਤੇਬ ਬਖਾਨੈ ਅਲਹੁ ਨਾਰਿ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਨਹੀ ਕੋਈ ॥
saach katayb bakhaanai alhu naar purakh nahee ko-ee.
O’ qazi, even your own Semitic books say that God is eternal and He is neither male or female.
ਹੇ ਕਾਜ਼ੀ! ਤੇਰੀ ਪੁਸਤਕ (ਕੁਰਾਨ) ਤੈਨੂੰ ਦੱਸਦੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਸੱਚਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਨਾਂ ਉਹ ਮਰਦ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਨਾਂ ਹੀ ਜ਼ਨਾਨੀ।
ਪਢੇ ਗੁਨੇ ਨਾਹੀ ਕਛੁ ਬਉਰੇ ਜਉ ਦਿਲ ਮਹਿ ਖਬਰਿ ਨ ਹੋਈ ॥੨॥
padhay gunay naahee kachh ba-uray ja-o dil meh khabar na ho-ee. ||2||
O’ ignorant Qazi, mere reading or reflecting on these religious books does not provide any benefit, unless you feel His presence in your heart. ||2||
ਹੇ ਕਮਲੇ ਕਾਜ਼ੀ! ਜੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਦਿਲ ਵਿਚ ਇਹ ਸੂਝ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਈ ਤਾਂ ਮਜ਼ਹਬੀ ਕਿਤਾਬਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਿਰਾ ਪੜ੍ਹਨ ਤੇ ਵਿਚਾਰਨ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਲਾਭ ਨਹੀਂ ॥੨॥
ਅਲਹੁ ਗੈਬੁ ਸਗਲ ਘਟ ਭੀਤਰਿ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਲੇਹੁ ਬਿਚਾਰੀ ॥
alhu gaib sagal ghat bheetar hirdai layho bichaaree.
Allah (God) dwells in all beings, reflect upon this in your heart.
ਹੇ ਕਾਜ਼ੀ! ਰੱਬ ਸਾਰੇ ਸਰੀਰਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਲੁਕਿਆ ਬੈਠਾ ਹੈ, ਤੂੰ ਭੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਦਿਲ ਵਿਚ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਵੇਖ ਲੈ,
ਹਿੰਦੂ ਤੁਰਕ ਦੁਹੂੰ ਮਹਿ ਏਕੈ ਕਹੈ ਕਬੀਰ ਪੁਕਾਰੀ ॥੩॥੭॥੨੯॥
hindoo turak duhoo-aN meh aykai kahai kabeer pukaaree. ||3||7||29||
Kabeer proclaims this out loud, the same God pervades within all the Hindus and the Muslims. ||3||7||29||
ਕਬੀਰ ਉੱਚੀ ਕੂਕ ਕੇ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ, ਸਾਰੇ ਹਿੰਦੂ ਤੇ ਮੁਸਲਮਾਨ ਵਿਚ ਇੱਕ ਉਹੀ ਰੱਬ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ, ॥੩॥੭॥੨੯॥
ਆਸਾ ॥ ਤਿਪਦਾ ॥ ਇਕਤੁਕਾ ॥

Raag Aasaa, Ti-Pada (three stanzas), Ik-Tuka (one liners):
ਕੀਓ ਸਿੰਗਾਰੁ ਮਿਲਨ ਕੇ ਤਾਈ ॥
kee-o singaar milan kay taa-ee.
To meet Him, I decked myself in many ways (with religious garbs, and symbols),
ਮੈਂ ਪਤੀ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਣ ਲਈ ਹਾਰ-ਸਿੰਗਾਰ ਲਾਇਆ,
ਹਰਿ ਨ ਮਿਲੇ ਜਗਜੀਵਨ ਗੁਸਾਈ ॥੧॥
har na milay jagjeevan gusaa-ee. ||1||
still, I have not realized God, the Master of the world. ||1||
ਪਰ ਜਗਤ-ਦੀ-ਜਿੰਦ ਜਗਤ-ਦੇ-ਮਾਲਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਤੀ ਜੀ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਮਿਲੇ ਨਹੀਂ ॥੧॥
ਹਰਿ ਮੇਰੋ ਪਿਰੁ ਹਉ ਹਰਿ ਕੀ ਬਹੁਰੀਆ ॥
har mayro pir ha-o har kee bahuree-aa.
God is my husband and I am His ignorant bride.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਮੇਰਾ ਖਸਮ ਹੈ, ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਅੰਞਾਣ ਜਿਹੀ ਵਹੁਟੀ ਹਾਂ।
ਰਾਮ ਬਡੇ ਮੈ ਤਨਕ ਲਹੁਰੀਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
raam baday mai tanak lahuree-aa. ||1|| rahaa-o.
God is so great and I am His insignificant bride. ||1||Pause||
ਮੇਰਾ ਖਸਮ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਬਹੁਤ ਵੱਡਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਨਿੱਕੀ ਜਿਹੀ ਬਾਲੜੀ ਹਾਂ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਧਨ ਪਿਰ ਏਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਬਸੇਰਾ ॥
Dhan pir aykai sang basayraa.
Both the soul-bride and the husband-God are residing together.
ਜੀਵ-ਵਹੁਟੀ ਤੇ ਖਸਮ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਵਸੇਬਾ ਇੱਕੋ ਥਾਂ ਹੀ ਹੈ,
ਸੇਜ ਏਕ ਪੈ ਮਿਲਨੁ ਦੁਹੇਰਾ ॥੨॥
sayj ayk pai milan duhayraa. ||2||
Both reside in the same heart but but still their union is very difficult.||2||
ਦੋਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੇਜ ਇੱਕੋ ਹੀ ਹੈ, ਪਰ (ਫਿਰ ਭੀ) ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਣਾ ਬਹੁਤ ਔਖਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਧੰਨਿ ਸੁਹਾਗਨਿ ਜੋ ਪੀਅ ਭਾਵੈ ॥
Dhan suhaagan jo pee-a bhaavai.
Blessed is that fortunate soul-bride, who is pleasing to her Husband-God.
ਮੁਬਾਰਿਕ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਵਾਲੀ ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਜੋ ਖਸਮ ਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰੀ ਲੱਗਦੀ ਹੈ,
ਕਹਿ ਕਬੀਰ ਫਿਰਿ ਜਨਮਿ ਨ ਆਵੈ ॥੩॥੮॥੩੦॥
kahi kabeer fir janam na aavai. ||3||8||30||
Kabeer says, Such a soul bride does not go through the cycles of birth and death. ||3||8||30||
ਕਬੀਰ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ-ਉਹ (ਜੀਵ-) ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਫਿਰ ਜਨਮ (ਮਰਨ) ਵਿਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਂਦੀ ॥੩॥੮॥੩੦॥
ਆਸਾ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕਬੀਰ ਜੀਉ ਕੇ ਦੁਪਦੇ॥

Raag Aasaa, Du-Padas (two stanzas) of Kabeer j:
ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥
ik-oNkaar satgur parsaad.
One eternal God, realized by the grace of the true Guru:
ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਹੀਰੈ ਹੀਰਾ ਬੇਧਿ ਪਵਨ ਮਨੁ ਸਹਜੇ ਰਹਿਆ ਸਮਾਈ ॥
heerai heeraa bayDh pavan man sehjay rahi-aa samaa-ee.
Just as a smaller diamond becomes valuable when attached to a bigger one, similarly a fickle mind attuned to Naam becomes calm and stable.
ਜਦੋਂ ਜੀਵ-ਹੀਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਹੀਰੇ ਨੂੰ ਵਿੰਨ੍ਹ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ (ਜਦੋਂ ਜੀਵ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਸੁਰਤ ਜੋੜ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ) ਤਾਂ ਇਸ ਦਾ ਚੰਚਲ ਮਨ ਅਡੋਲ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਵਿਚ ਸਦਾ ਟਿਕਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਸਗਲ ਜੋਤਿ ਇਨਿ ਹੀਰੈ ਬੇਧੀ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਬਚਨੀ ਮੈ ਪਾਈ ॥੧॥
sagal jot in heerai bayDhee satgur bachnee mai paa-ee. ||1||
I learned through the Guru’s teachings that jewel like precious Naam is present in all the beings.||1||
ਇਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਹੀਰਾ ਐਸਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਸਾਰੇ ਜੀਆ-ਜੰਤਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੈ-ਇਹ ਗੱਲ ਮੈਂ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤ ਨਾਲ ਸਮਝੀ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਹਰਿ ਕੀ ਕਥਾ ਅਨਾਹਦ ਬਾਨੀ ॥
har kee kathaa anaahad baanee.
By attuning to the continual bliss giving divine words of God’s praises,
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਨਾਲ ਤੇ ਇੱਕ-ਰਸ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜ ਕੇ-
ਹੰਸੁ ਹੁਇ ਹੀਰਾ ਲੇਇ ਪਛਾਨੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
hans hu-ay heeraa lay-ay pachhaanee. ||1|| rahaa-o.
the person who becomes pure and immaculate like a swan, recognizes this precious Naam.||1||Pause||
ਜੋ ਜੀਵ ਹੰਸ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-) ਹੀਰੇ ਨੂੰ ਪਛਾਣ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਕਹਿ ਕਬੀਰ ਹੀਰਾ ਅਸ ਦੇਖਿਓ ਜਗ ਮਹ ਰਹਾ ਸਮਾਈ ॥
kahi kabeer heeraa as daykhi-o jag mah rahaa samaa-ee.
Kabeer says, the jewel like precious Naam is permeating the entire world; I realized it within my heart,
ਕਬੀਰ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ-ਜੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਹੀਰਾ ਸਾਰੇ ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੈ, ਮੈਂ ਉਹ ਹੀਰਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਹੀ ਵੇਖ ਲਿਆ
ਗੁਪਤਾ ਹੀਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਭਇਓ ਜਬ ਗੁਰ ਗਮ ਦੀਆ ਦਿਖਾਈ ॥੨॥੧॥੩੧॥
guptaa heeraa pargat bha-i-o jab gur gam dee-aa dikhaa-ee. ||2||1||31||
only when the capable Guru revealed this hidden jewel to me. ||2||1||31||
ਜਦੋਂ ਉਸ ਤਕ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਵਾਲੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਲੁਕਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੀਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਤੱਖ ਵਿਖਾਲ ਦਿੱਤਾ ॥੨॥੧॥੩੧॥

ਪਹਿਲੀ ਕਰੂਪਿ ਕੁਜਾਤਿ ਕੁਲਖਨੀ ਸਾਹੁਰੈ ਪੇਈਐ ਬੁਰੀ ॥
pahilee karoop kujaat kulakhnee saahurai pay-ee-ai buree.
My previous state of mind was like an ugly, lowly person of bad character, who is considered evil both here and hereafter.
ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਦੀ ਪਹਿਲੀ ਬਿਰਤੀ ਭੈੜੇ ਰੂਪ ਵਾਲੀ, ਚੰਦਰੇ ਘਰ ਦੀ ਜੰਮੀ ਹੋਈ ਤੇ ਚੰਦਰੇ ਲੱਛਣਾਂ ਵਾਲੀ ਸੀ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਇਸ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਿਚ ਭੀ ਚੰਦਰੀ ਹੀ ਰਹਿਣਾ ਸੀ ਤੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਰਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ ਗਿਆਂ ਭੀ ਭੈੜੀ ਹੀ ਰਹਿਣਾ ਸੀ।
ਅਬ ਕੀ ਸਰੂਪਿ ਸੁਜਾਨਿ ਸੁਲਖਨੀ ਸਹਜੇ ਉਦਰਿ ਧਰੀ ॥੧॥
ab kee saroop sujaan sulakhnee sehjay udar Dharee. ||1||
My present (awakened state) is like the beautiful wise bride of superb virtues, and I have easily enshrined her in my heart.||1||
ਜਿਹੜੀ ਬਿਰਤੀ ਮੈਂ ਹੁਣ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਵਸਾਈ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਸੁੰਦਰ,ਸੁਚੱਜੀ ਤੇ ਚੰਗੇ ਲੱਛਣਾਂ ਵਾਲੀ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਭਲੀ ਸਰੀ ਮੁਈ ਮੇਰੀ ਪਹਿਲੀ ਬਰੀ ॥
bhalee saree mu-ee mayree pahilee baree.
It has turned out so well, that I got rid of my previous bad intellect which I used to like.
ਚੰਗਾ ਹੀ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਮੇਰੀ ਉਹ ਮਾਨੋ-ਬਿਰਤੀ ਖ਼ਤਮ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਚੰਗੀ ਲੱਗਿਆ ਕਰਦੀ ਸੀ।
ਜੁਗੁ ਜੁਗੁ ਜੀਵਉ ਮੇਰੀ ਅਬ ਕੀ ਧਰੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
jug jug jeeva-o mayree ab kee Dharee. ||1|| rahaa-o.
May my present awakened intellect last forever. ||1||Pause||
ਜਿਹੜੀ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਹੁਣ ਮਿਲੀ ਹੈ, ਰੱਬ ਕਰੇ ਉਹ ਸਦਾ ਜੀਂਦੀ ਰਹੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਕਹੁ ਕਬੀਰ ਜਬ ਲਹੁਰੀ ਆਈ ਬਡੀ ਕਾ ਸੁਹਾਗੁ ਟਰਿਓ ॥
kaho kabeer jab lahuree aa-ee badee kaa suhaag tari-o.
Kabeer says, since the time I have attained this humble state of mind, my evil intellect has become irrelevant.
ਕਬੀਰ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ- ਜਦੋਂ ਦੀ ਇਹ ਗਰੀਬੜੇ ਸੁਭਾਵ ਵਾਲੀ ਬਿਰਤੀ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਮਿਲੀ ਹੈ, ਅਹੰਕਾਰਨ ਬਿਰਤੀ ਦਾ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਮੇਰੇ ਉੱਤੋਂ ਟਲ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਲਹੁਰੀ ਸੰਗਿ ਭਈ ਅਬ ਮੇਰੈ ਜੇਠੀ ਅਉਰੁ ਧਰਿਓ ॥੨॥੨॥੩੨॥
lahuree sang bha-ee ab mayrai jaythee a-or Dhari-o. ||2||2||32||
The newly acquired humble intellect is always with me and the previous egoestic intellect has abandoned me and gone somewhere else. ||2||2||32||
ਇਹ ਨਿਮ੍ਰਤਾ ਵਾਲੀ ਮੱਤ ਹੁਣ ਸਦਾ ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਤੇ ਉਸ ਅਹੰਕਾਰ-ਬੁੱਧੀ ਨੇ ਕਿਤੇ ਕੋਈ ਹੋਰ ਥਾਂ ਜਾ ਲੱਭਾ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ ॥੨॥੨॥੩੨॥
