ਮੇਰੀ ਬਹੁਰੀਆ ਕੋ ਧਨੀਆ ਨਾਉ ॥
mayree bahuree-aa ko Dhanee-aa naa-o.
When my mind was in love with worldly wealth its name was Dhania (one who is running after worldly wealth).
ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਮਾਇਆ ਨਾਲ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰਿਆ ਕਰਦੀ ਸੀ।
ਲੇ ਰਾਖਿਓ ਰਾਮ ਜਨੀਆ ਨਾਉ ॥੧॥
lay raakhi-o raam janee-aa naa-o. ||1||
Now my mind is in love with God and is called Raam-Jania (God’s devotee).||1||
(ਮੇਰੇ ਸਤ-ਸੰਗੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਜਿੰਦ ਨੂੰ) ਆਪਣੇ ਅਸਰ ਹੇਠ ਲਿਆ ਕੇ ਇਸ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਰਾਮਦਾਸੀ ਰੱਖ ਦਿੱਤਾ ॥੧॥
ਇਨ੍ਹ੍ਹ ਮੁੰਡੀਅਨ ਮੇਰਾ ਘਰੁ ਧੁੰਧਰਾਵਾ ॥
inH mundee-an mayraa ghar DhunDhraavaa.
My saintly companions have destroyed my evil intellect which was controlled by Maya.
ਇਹਨਾਂ ਸਤ-ਸੰਗੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਮੇਰਾ (ਉਹ) ਘਰ ਉਜਾੜ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ,
ਬਿਟਵਹਿ ਰਾਮ ਰਮਊਆ ਲਾਵਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
bitvahi raam ram-oo-aa laavaa. ||1|| rahaa-o.
Because, now they have caused my innocent mind to start reciting God’s Name. ||1||Pause||
(ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਹੁਣ ਇਹਨਾਂ) ਮੇਰੇ ਅੰਞਾਣੇ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਦੀ ਚੇਟਕ ਲਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਕਹਤੁ ਕਬੀਰ ਸੁਨਹੁ ਮੇਰੀ ਮਾਈ ॥
kahat kabeer sunhu mayree maa-ee.
Kabir says, listen O’ my mother,
ਕਬੀਰ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ-ਹੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਮਾਂ! ਸੁਣ,
ਇਨ੍ਹ੍ਹ ਮੁੰਡੀਅਨ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਾਤਿ ਗਵਾਈ ॥੨॥੩॥੩੩॥
inH mundee-an mayree jaat gavaa-ee. ||2||3||33||
these saintly companions have done away with my low social status. ||2||3||33||
ਇਹਨਾਂ ਸਤ-ਸੰਗੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਨੀਵੀਂ ਜਾਤ ਹੀਂ ਮੁਕਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ ॥੨॥੩॥੩੩॥

ਰਹੁ ਰਹੁ ਰੀ ਬਹੁਰੀਆ ਘੂੰਘਟੁ ਜਿਨਿ ਕਾਢੈ ॥
rahu rahu ree bahuree-aa ghoonghat jin kaadhai.
O’ my ignorant mind, stop putting the veil (creating distance) between you and God,
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਅੰਞਾਣ ਜਿੰਦੇ! ਹੁਣ ਬੱਸ ਕਰ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਤੀ ਵਲੋਂ ਘੁੰਡ ਕੱਢਣਾ ਛੱਡ ਦੇਹ, ਜੇ ਸਾਰੀ ਉਮਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਵਿੱਥ ਹੀ ਰਹੀ, ਤਾਂ
ਅੰਤ ਕੀ ਬਾਰ ਲਹੈਗੀ ਨ ਆਢੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ant kee baar lahaigee na aadhai. ||1|| rahaa-o.
if you kept yourself away from God, then in the end you won’t earn even a penny’s worth of spiritual profit.||1||Pause||
ਤੇਰਾ ਸਾਰਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਅਜਾਈਂ ਚਲਿਆ ਜਾਇਗਾ (ਇਸ ਜੀਵਨ ਦਾ ਆਖ਼ਰ ਅੱਧੀ ਦਮੜੀ ਭੀ ਮੁੱਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੈਣਾ) ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਘੂੰਘਟੁ ਕਾਢਿ ਗਈ ਤੇਰੀ ਆਗੈ ॥
ghoonghat kaadh ga-ee tayree aagai.
O’ my mind, before you there have been many who stayed away from God,
ਤੈਥੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ (ਇਸ ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਕਈ ਜਿੰਦ-ਵਹੁਟੀਆਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਵਲੋਂ) ਘੁੰਡ ਕੱਢ ਕੇ ਤੁਰ ਗਈਆਂ,
ਉਨ ਕੀ ਗੈਲਿ ਤੋਹਿ ਜਿਨਿ ਲਾਗੈ ॥੧॥
un kee gail tohi jin laagai. ||1||
make sure that you don’t follow their footsteps.||1|
(ਵੇਖੀਂ!) ਕਿਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਵਾਲੀ ਵਾਦੀ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਨਾਹ ਪੈ ਜਾਏ ॥੧॥
ਘੂੰਘਟ ਕਾਢੇ ਕੀ ਇਹੈ ਬਡਾਈ ॥
ghoonghat kaadhay kee ihai badaa-ee.
The only limited benefit of putting the veil between yourself and God is,
(ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਤੀ ਵਲੋਂ) ਘੁੰਡ ਕੱਢਿਆਂ (ਤੇ ਮਾਇਆ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਜੋੜਿਆਂ, ਇਸ ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵਲੋਂ)
ਦਿਨ ਦਸ ਪਾਂਚ ਬਹੂ ਭਲੇ ਆਈ ॥੨॥
din das paaNch bahoo bhalay aa-ee. ||2||
that, for few days people will say, what a noble bride has come. ||2||
ਪੰਜ ਦਸ ਦਿਨ ਲਈ ਇਤਨੀ ਕੁ ਸ਼ੁਹਰਤ ਹੀ ਮਿਲਦੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਜਿੰਦ-ਵਹੁਟੀ ਚੰਗੀ ਆਈ ॥੨॥
ਘੂੰਘਟੁ ਤੇਰੋ ਤਉ ਪਰਿ ਸਾਚੈ ॥
ghoonghat tayro ta-o par saachai.
O’ my mind, this veil of yours can be only considered true,
ਹੇ ਜਿੰਦੇ! ਤੇਰਾ ਸੱਚਾ ਘੁੰਡ ਤਦੋਂ ਹੀ ਹੋ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਹਰਿ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਇ ਕੂਦਹਿ ਅਰੁ ਨਾਚੈ ॥੩॥
har gun gaa-ay koodeh ar naachai. ||3||
if you jump, dance and sing God’s praises while hiding from Maya. ||3||
ਜੇ ਤੂੰ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਵਲੋਂ ਮੂੰਹ ਲੁਕਾ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵੇਂ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦਾ ਹੁਲਾਰਾ ਤੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਉੱਠੇ ॥੩॥
ਕਹਤ ਕਬੀਰ ਬਹੂ ਤਬ ਜੀਤੈ ॥
kahat kabeer bahoo tab jeetai.
Kabir says, a soul-bride wins the game of life,
ਕਬੀਰ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ-ਜਿੰਦ-ਵਹੁਟੀ ਤਦੋਂ ਹੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ-ਜਨਮ ਦੀ ਬਾਜ਼ੀ ਜਿੱਤਦੀ ਹੈ,
ਹਰਿ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਵਤ ਜਨਮੁ ਬਿਤੀਤੈ ॥੪॥੧॥੩੪॥
har gun gaavat janam biteetai. ||4||1||34||
only when her life passes singing praises of God. ||4||1||34||
ਜੇ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਗੁਜ਼ਰੇ ॥੪॥੧॥੩੪॥

ਕਰਵਤੁ ਭਲਾ ਨ ਕਰਵਟ ਤੇਰੀ ॥
karvat bhalaa na karvat tayree.
O’ God, I would rather be sawed, than have You forsake me.
ਦਾਤਾ! ਤੇਰੇ ਪਿੱਠ ਦੇਣ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਮੈਨੂੰ (ਸਰੀਰ ਉੱਤੇ) ਆਰਾ ਸਹਾਰ ਲੈਣਾ ਚੰਗਾ ਹੈ
ਲਾਗੁ ਗਲੇ ਸੁਨੁ ਬਿਨਤੀ ਮੇਰੀ ॥੧॥
laag galay sun bintee mayree. ||1||
O’ God, keep me closer to You and listen to my prayer. ||1||
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੇਰੀ ਅਰਜੋਈ ਸੁਣ, ਤੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਗਲ ਲੱਗ (ਭਾਵ, ਤੇਰੀ ਯਾਦ ਮੇਰੇ ਗਲ ਦਾ ਹਾਰ ਬਣੀ ਰਹੇ) ॥੧॥
ਹਉ ਵਾਰੀ ਮੁਖੁ ਫੇਰਿ ਪਿਆਰੇ ॥
ha-o vaaree mukh fayr pi-aaray.
O’ my Beloved God, I dedicate myself to You, please show me the way;
ਹੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੈਂ ਤੈਥੋਂ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ! ਮੇਰੇ ਵੱਲ ਤੱਕ;
ਕਰਵਟੁ ਦੇ ਮੋ ਕਉ ਕਾਹੇ ਕਉ ਮਾਰੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
karvat day mo ka-o kaahay ka-o maaray. ||1|| rahaa-o.
if you forsake me then I can’t spiritually survive. ||1||Pause||
ਮੈਨੂੰ ਪਿੱਠ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਕਿਉਂ ਮਾਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈਂ? (ਭਾਵ, ਜੇ ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਮਿਹਰ ਦੀ ਨਜ਼ਰ ਨਾਹ ਕਰੇਂ, ਤਾਂ ਮੈਂ ਜੀਊ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ) ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਜਉ ਤਨੁ ਚੀਰਹਿ ਅੰਗੁ ਨ ਮੋਰਉ ॥
ja-o tan cheereh ang na mora-o.
O’ God, even if my body is sawed apart, I would not pull it away from You.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ!) ਜੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਤਨ ਵੀ ਕਟਿਆ ਜਾਏ ਤਾਂ ਵੀ ਮੈਂ ਤੈਥੋਂ ਮੂੰਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਮੋੜਾਂਗੀ
ਪਿੰਡੁ ਪਰੈ ਤਉ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਨ ਤੋਰਉ ॥੨॥
pind parai ta-o pareet na tora-o. ||2||
Even if my body falls apart, I would not break my bonds of love with You. ||2||
ਇਹ ਸਰੀਰ ਨਾਸ ਹੋ ਜਾਣ ਤੇ ਭੀ ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਪਿਆਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਤੋੜਗਾ ॥੨॥
ਹਮ ਤੁਮ ਬੀਚੁ ਭਇਓ ਨਹੀ ਕੋਈ ॥
ham tum beech bha-i-o nahee ko-ee.
O’ beloved God, between You and me, there is none other.
ਹੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ! ਮੇਰੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਵਿਚ ਕੋਈ ਹੋਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ,
ਤੁਮਹਿ ਸੁ ਕੰਤ ਨਾਰਿ ਹਮ ਸੋਈ ॥੩॥
tumeh so kant naar ham so-ee. ||3||
You are the Husband-God and I am the soul-bride. ||3||
ਤੂੰ ਉਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਖਸਮ ਹੈਂ ਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਤੇਰੀ ਨਾਰ ਹਾਂ ॥੩॥
ਕਹਤੁ ਕਬੀਰੁ ਸੁਨਹੁ ਰੇ ਲੋਈ ॥
kahat kabeer sunhu ray lo-ee.
Kabeer says, listen, O’ people:
ਕਬੀਰ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ-ਸੁਣ, ਹੇ ਜਗਤ! (ਹੇ ਜਗਤ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ!)
ਅਬ ਤੁਮਰੀ ਪਰਤੀਤਿ ਨ ਹੋਈ ॥੪॥੨॥੩੫॥
ab tumree parteet na ho-ee. ||4||2||35||
now, I place no reliance in you. (It is you (the love for worldly wealth) who keep me away from God). ||4||2||35||
ਹੁਣ ਕਦੇ ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰਾ ਇਤਬਾਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ (ਹੇ ਮੋਹ!), ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਤੀ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਤੋਂ ਵਿਛੋੜਦਾ ਹੈਂ) ॥੪॥੨॥੩੫॥

ਕੋਰੀ ਕੋ ਕਾਹੂ ਮਰਮੁ ਨ ਜਾਨਾਂ ॥
koree ko kaahoo maram na jaanaaN.
No one knows the mystery of God, the Cosmic Weaver,
ਕੋਈ ਭੀ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਜੁਲਾਹੇ ਦੇ ਭੇਤ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦਾ,
ਸਭੁ ਜਗੁ ਆਨਿ ਤਨਾਇਓ ਤਾਨਾਂ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
sabh jag aan tanaa-i-o taanaaN. ||1|| rahaa-o.
who, through His creation, has woven the web of the entire world.||1||Pause||
ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਸਾਰਾ ਜਗਤ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਸਮੂਹ ਜਹਾਨ ਦਾ ਤਾਣਾ ਤਣਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਜਬ ਤੁਮ ਸੁਨਿ ਲੇ ਬੇਦ ਪੁਰਾਨਾਂ ॥
jab tum sun lay bayd puraanaaN.
O’ Pundit, the time in which you earn your living by reciting the Vedas and the Puranas to your clients,
(ਹੇ ਪੰਡਿਤ ਜੀ!) ਜਿਤਨਾ ਚਿਰ ਤੁਸੀ ਵੇਦ ਪੁਰਾਣ ਸੁਣਦੇ ਰਹੇ, (ਤੁਸੀ ਵੇਦ ਪੁਰਾਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਾਠ ਨੂੰ ਰੋਜ਼ੀ ਲਈ ਵਰਤਿਆ)
ਤਬ ਹਮ ਇਤਨਕੁ ਪਸਰਿਓ ਤਾਨਾਂ ॥੧॥
tab ham itnak pasri-o taanaaN. ||1||
in that time I earned my living by weaving a bit fabric on my loom. ||1||
ਮੈਂ ਉਤਨਾ ਚਿਰ ਥੋੜ੍ਹਾ ਜਿਹਾ ਤਾਣਾ ਤਣ ਲਿਆ (ਅਤੇ ਰੋਜ਼ੀ ਲਈ ਵਰਤਿਆ) ॥੧॥
ਧਰਨਿ ਅਕਾਸ ਕੀ ਕਰਗਹ ਬਨਾਈ ॥
Dharan akaas kee kargah banaa-ee.
God has made the earth and sky His loom,
(ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਜੁਲਾਹ ਨੇ) ਧਰਤੀ ਤੇ ਅਕਾਸ਼ ਦੀ ਕੰਘੀ ਬਣਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ,
ਚੰਦੁ ਸੂਰਜੁ ਦੁਇ ਸਾਥ ਚਲਾਈ ॥੨॥
chand sooraj du-ay saath chalaa-ee. ||2||
and has moved the moon and the sun as the two bobbins in this loom.||2||
ਚੰਦ ਅਤੇ ਸੂਰਜ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ (ਉਸ ਕੰਘੀ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ) ਨਾਲਾਂ ਬਣਾ ਕੇ ਵਰਤ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਪਾਈ ਜੋਰਿ ਬਾਤ ਇਕ ਕੀਨੀ ਤਹ ਤਾਂਤੀ ਮਨੁ ਮਾਨਾਂ ॥
paa-ee jor baat ik keenee tah taaNtee man maanaaN.
In His loom, God is using death and birth as his two foot pedals; my mind has developed full faith in that Cosmic weaver.
ਜੁਲਾਹੇ ਦੇ ਪਊਇਆਂ ਦੀ ਜੋੜੀ ਉਸ ਜੁਲਾਹ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ (ਜਗਤ ਦੀ ਜਨਮ-ਮਰਨ ਦੀ) ਖੇਡ ਰਚ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ, ਮੈਂ ਜੁਲਾਹੇ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਉਸ ਜੁਲਾਹ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਖੇਡ ਰਚੀ ਹੈ।
ਜੋਲਾਹੇ ਘਰੁ ਅਪਨਾ ਚੀਨ੍ਹ੍ਹਾਂ ਘਟ ਹੀ ਰਾਮੁ ਪਛਾਨਾਂ ॥੩॥
jolaahay ghar apnaa cheenHaaN ghat hee raam pachhaanaaN. ||3||
I have searched within my heart and have realized God within it.||3||
ਮੈਂ ਜੁਲਾਹ ਨੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਹੀ ਘਰ ਨੂੰ ਲੱਭ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ, ਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ (ਬੈਠਾ) ਪਛਾਣ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਕਹਤੁ ਕਬੀਰੁ ਕਾਰਗਹ ਤੋਰੀ ॥
kahat kabeer kaargah toree.
Kabir says, when God, the weaver, destroys His weaving workshop, the universe,
ਕਬੀਰ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ-ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹ ਜੁਲਾਹ ਇਸ ਜਗਤ- ਕੰਘੀ ਨੂੰ ਤੋੜ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਸੂਤੈ ਸੂਤ ਮਿਲਾਏ ਕੋਰੀ ॥੪॥੩॥੩੬॥
sootai soot milaa-ay koree. ||4||3||36||
He merges all the threads (souls) into one thread, the Prime Soul.||4||3||36||
ਤਾਂ ਸੂਤਰ ਵਿਚ ਸੂਤਰ ਰਲਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ (ਭਾਵ, ਸਾਰੇ ਜਗਤ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਵਿਚ ਮਿਲਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ) ॥੪॥੩॥੩੬॥

ਅੰਤਰਿ ਮੈਲੁ ਜੇ ਤੀਰਥ ਨਾਵੈ ਤਿਸੁ ਬੈਕੁੰਠ ਨ ਜਾਨਾਂ ॥
antar mail jay tirath naavai tis baikunth na jaanaaN.
With the filth of vices in the heart, even if one bathes at sacred places of pilgrimage, he will not go to heaven (will not achieve liberation from vices).
ਜੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਮੈਲ ਟਿਕੀ ਰਹੇ, ਤੇ ਕੋਈ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਤੀਰਥਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਨ੍ਹਾਉਂਦਾ ਫਿਰੇ, ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਉਹ ਸੁਰਗ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ
ਲੋਕ ਪਤੀਣੇ ਕਛੂ ਨ ਹੋਵੈ ਨਾਹੀ ਰਾਮੁ ਅਯਾਨਾ ॥੧॥
lok pateenay kachhoo na hovai naahee raam ayaanaa. ||1||
No spiritual gain is achieved by trying to please others because God is not so naive. ||1||
ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਤੀਜਿਆਂ ਕੋਈ ਲਾਭ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਅੰਞਾਣਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਪੂਜਹੁ ਰਾਮੁ ਏਕੁ ਹੀ ਦੇਵਾ ॥
poojahu raam ayk hee dayvaa.
Worship the one divine God.
ਇਕ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇਵ ਦਾ ਭਜਨ ਕਰੋ।
ਸਾਚਾ ਨਾਵਣੁ ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਸੇਵਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
saachaa naavan gur kee sayvaa. ||1|| rahaa-o.
Righteous living by the Guru’s teaching is the true cleansing bath. ||1||Pause||
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਦੱਸੇ ਰਾਹ ਉੱਤੇ ਤੁਰਨਾ ਹੀ ਅਸਲ ਤੀਰਥ- ਇਸ਼ਨਾਨ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਜਲ ਕੈ ਮਜਨਿ ਜੇ ਗਤਿ ਹੋਵੈ ਨਿਤ ਨਿਤ ਮੇਂਡੁਕ ਨਾਵਹਿ ॥
jal kai majan jay gat hovai nit nit mayNduk naaveh.
If liberation can be obtained by bathing in water,then all the frogs living in the water at the holy place would have obtained salvation.
ਪਾਣੀ ਵਿਚ ਚੁੱਭੀ ਲਾਇਆਂ ਜੇ ਮੁਕਤੀ ਮਿਲ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੋਵੇ ਤਾਂ ਡੱਡੂ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਨ੍ਹਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਜੈਸੇ ਮੇਂਡੁਕ ਤੈਸੇ ਓਇ ਨਰ ਫਿਰਿ ਫਿਰਿ ਜੋਨੀ ਆਵਹਿ ॥੨॥
jaisay mayNduk taisay o-ay nar fir fir jonee aavahi. ||2||
Just like those frogs, people bathing at the holy places without meditation on Naam keep on going through the cycle of births and deaths.||2||
ਜਿਵੇਂ ਉਹ ਡੱਡੂ ਹਨ ਤਿਵੇਂ ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਮਝੋ; (ਪਰ ਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਉਹ) ਸਦਾ ਜੂਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਪਏ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੨॥
ਮਨਹੁ ਕਠੋਰੁ ਮਰੈ ਬਾਨਾਰਸਿ ਨਰਕੁ ਨ ਬਾਂਚਿਆ ਜਾਈ ॥
manhu kathor marai baanaaras narak na baaNchi-aa jaa-ee.
If a stone-hearted sinner dies at a holy place like Banaras, he cannot escape hell, the misery of the rounds of birth and death .
ਜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਕਾਂਸ਼ੀ ਵਿਚ ਸਰੀਰ ਤਿਆਗੇ, ਪਰ ਮਨੋਂ ਰਹੇ ਕਠੋਰ, ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਨਰਕ (ਵਿਚ ਪੈਣਾ) ਛੁੱਟ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ।
ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਸੰਤੁ ਮਰੈ ਹਾੜੰਬੈ ਤ ਸਗਲੀ ਸੈਨ ਤਰਾਈ ॥੩॥
har kaa sant marai haarhambai ta saglee sain taraa-ee. ||3||
And even if a true devotee of God dies in the cursed land of Harramba, he along with himself saves all his entire lineage. ||3||
(ਦੂਜੇ ਪਾਸੇ) ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਭਗਤ ਮਗਹਰ ਦੀ ਸ੍ਰਾਪੀ ਹੋਈ ਧਰਤੀ ਵਿਚ ਭੀ ਜੇ ਜਾ ਮਰੇ, ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਸਗੋਂ ਹੋਰ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਭੀ ਤਾਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਦਿਨਸੁ ਨ ਰੈਨਿ ਬੇਦੁ ਨਹੀ ਸਾਸਤ੍ਰ ਤਹਾ ਬਸੈ ਨਿਰੰਕਾਰਾ ॥
dinas na rain bayd nahee saastar tahaa basai nirankaaraa.
That formless God who dwells even in those places where there is neither day nor night and neither Vedas nor Shastra.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਉੱਥੇ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਦਿਨ ਤੇ ਰਾਤ ਨਹੀਂ, ਜਿੱਥੇ ਵੇਦ ਨਹੀਂ, ਜਿੱਥੇ ਸ਼ਾਸਤ੍ਰ ਨਹੀਂ l
ਕਹਿ ਕਬੀਰ ਨਰ ਤਿਸਹਿ ਧਿਆਵਹੁ ਬਾਵਰਿਆ ਸੰਸਾਰਾ ॥੪॥੪॥੩੭॥
kahi kabeer nar tiseh Dhi-aavahu baavri-aa sansaaraa. ||4||4||37||
Kabir says, O’ crazy people of the world, remember only that God who is pervading everywhere. ||4||4||37||
ਕਬੀਰ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ-ਹੇ ਮਨੁੱਖੋ! ਹੇ ਕਮਲੇ ਲੋਕੋ! ਉਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਸਿਮਰੋ ॥੪॥੪॥੩੭॥
