ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾ ਵਿਣੁ ਭਾਈਆ ਹਰਿ ਕਿਨੈ ਨ ਪਾਇਆ ਨਾਉ ॥
sant janaa vin bhaa-ee-aa har kinai na paa-i-aa naa-o.
O brothers, no one has ever realized God without associating with the saints.
ਹੇ ਭਰਾਓ! ਸਾਧ ਰੂਪ ਪੁਰਸ਼ਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਕਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ, ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਭੀ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਪਰਾਪਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਇਆ।
ਵਿਚਿ ਹਉਮੈ ਕਰਮ ਕਮਾਵਦੇ ਜਿਉ ਵੇਸੁਆ ਪੁਤੁ ਨਿਨਾਉ ॥
vich ha-umai karam kamaavday ji-o vaysu-aa put ninaa-o.
Those who (do not join the holy congregation) act out of ego. They are like the prostitute’s son who cannot tell his father’s name.
ਜਿਹੜੇ ਹੰਕਾਰ ਅੰਦਰ ਕਾਰਜ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਕੰਜਰੀ ਦੇ ਪੁਤ੍ਰ ਵਾਂਙੂ ਨਿਖਸਮੇ ਹੀ ਰਹਿ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਨਾਮ ਨਹੀਂ।
ਪਿਤਾ ਜਾਤਿ ਤਾ ਹੋਈਐ ਗੁਰੁ ਤੁਠਾ ਕਰੇ ਪਸਾਉ ॥
pitaa jaat taa ho-ee-ai gur tuthaa karay pasaa-o.
A person is said to belong to father’s (God’s lineage) only when Guru is pleased and bestows His mercy on that person.
ਪਿਤਾ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਕੁਲ ਦਾ ਤਦੋਂ ਹੀ ਹੋ ਸਕੀਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਦੋਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ (ਹੋ ਕੇ ਜੀਵ ਉਤੇ) ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਗੁਰੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਹਰਿ ਅਹਿਨਿਸਿ ਲਗਾ ਭਾਉ ॥
vadbhaagee gur paa-i-aa har ahinis lagaa bhaa-o.
By great good fortune, one meets Guru, then by Guru’s teachings his mind remains absorbed in God’s loving devotion day and night.
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਵੱਡੇ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲ ਪਿਆ, ਉਸ ਦਾ ਹਰੀ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤ ਲੱਗਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕਿ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਪਛਾਣਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਕੀਰਤਿ ਕਰਮ ਕਮਾਉ ॥੨॥
jan naanak barahm pachhaani-aa har keerat karam kamaa-o. ||2||
Devotee Nanak has thus realized the all pervading God; and he remains engaged in singing His praise.
ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ ਨੇ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਅਨੁਭਵ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਜੱਸ ਗਾਉਣ ਦਾ ਵਿਹਾਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਮਨਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਲਗਾ ਚਾਉ ॥
man har har lagaa chaa-o.
In my mind there is such a deep yearning for lovingly remembering God.
ਮੇਰੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਅੰਦਰ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਲਈ ਤੀਬਰ ਇਛਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਨਾਮੁ ਦ੍ਰਿੜਾਇਆ ਹਰਿ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਨਾਉ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
gur poorai naam drirh-aa-i-aa har mili-aa har parabh naa-o. ||1|| rahaa-o.
The perfect Guru has firmly implanted Naam in my mind and by meditating on Naam, I have realized God.
ਪੂਰਨ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਨਾਮ ਪੱਕਾ ਕਰ ਦਿਤਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਮੈਂ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਪਿਆ ਹਾਂ!
ਜਬ ਲਗੁ ਜੋਬਨਿ ਸਾਸੁ ਹੈ ਤਬ ਲਗੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇ ॥
jab lag joban saas hai tab lag naam Dhi-aa-ay.
As long as there is youth and health, meditate on the Naam.
ਜਦੋਂ ਤਕ ਜੁਆਨੀ ਵਿਚ ਸਾਹ (ਆ ਰਿਹਾ) ਹੈ, ਤਦ ਤਕ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰ (ਬੁਢੇਪੇ ਵਿਚ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਣਾ ਔਖਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਏਗਾ)।
ਚਲਦਿਆ ਨਾਲਿ ਹਰਿ ਚਲਸੀ ਹਰਿ ਅੰਤੇ ਲਏ ਛਡਾਇ ॥
chaldi-aa naal har chalsee har antay la-ay chhadaa-ay.
God would accompany you in your life’s journey and would save you from sufferings in the end.
ਜੀਵਨ-ਸਫ਼ਰ ਵਿਚ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਥ ਨਿਭਾਹੀ ਚੱਲੇਗਾ, ਅੰਤ ਸਮੇ ਭੀ ਤੈਨੂੰ (ਔਕੜਾਂ ਤੋਂ) ਬਚਾ ਲਏਗਾ।
ਹਉ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ਤਿਨ ਕਉ ਜਿਨ ਹਰਿ ਮਨਿ ਵੁਠਾ ਆਇ ॥
ha-o balihaaree tin ka-o jin har man vuthaa aa-ay.
I dedicate my life to those, within whose minds the God has come to dwell .
ਮੈਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ਹਾਂ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਆ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਜਿਨੀ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਨ ਚੇਤਿਓ ਸੇ ਅੰਤਿ ਗਏ ਪਛੁਤਾਇ ॥
jinee har har naam na chayti-o say ant ga-ay pachhutaa-ay.
Those who have not remembered God with loving devotion, will ultimately depart from the world regretting.
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਬੰਦਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਿਮਰਿਆ, ਉਹ ਆਖ਼ਰ ਨੂੰ (ਇਥੋਂ) ਪਛਤਾਂਦੇ ਹੀ ਚਲੇ ਗਏ।
ਧੁਰਿ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇ ॥੩॥
Dhur mastak har parabh likhi-aa jan naanak naam Dhi-aa-ay. ||3||
O’ Nanak, only those devotees lovingly remember God who are preordained.
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਹਰੀ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਧੁਰ ਦਰਗਾਹ ਤੋਂ ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਮੱਥੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਲੇਖ ਹੈ, ਉਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਦਾ ਹੈ l
ਮਨ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਲਗਾਇ ॥
man har har pareet lagaa-ay.
O’ my mind embrace love for God.
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਜੋੜ।
ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਗੁਰੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦੀ ਪਾਰਿ ਲਘਾਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
vadbhaagee gur paa-i-aa gur sabdee paar laghaa-ay. ||1|| rahaa-o.
By great good fortune, does one meet the Guru, and through the Guru’s word one is ferried across the worldly ocean of vices.
ਜਿਸ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਰਾਹੀਂ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ) ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ l
ਹਰਿ ਆਪੇ ਆਪੁ ਉਪਾਇਦਾ ਹਰਿ ਆਪੇ ਦੇਵੈ ਲੇਇ ॥
har aapay aap upaa-idaa har aapay dayvai lay-ay.
God manifests Himself in His creation, He Himself gives life and takes it back.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਆਪ ਹੀ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਿੰਦ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਵਾਪਸ ਲੈ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਹਰਿ ਆਪੇ ਭਰਮਿ ਭੁਲਾਇਦਾ ਹਰਿ ਆਪੇ ਹੀ ਮਤਿ ਦੇਇ ॥
har aapay bharam bhulaa-idaa har aapay hee mat day-ay.
God Himself leads us astray in doubts and He Himself imparts enlightenment.
ਖੁਦ ਹੀ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਸੰਦੇਹ ਅੰਦਰ ਗੁਮਰਾਹ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਖੁਦ ਹੀ ਸਮਝ ਪ੍ਰਦਾਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਾ ਮਨਿ ਪਰਗਾਸੁ ਹੈ ਸੇ ਵਿਰਲੇ ਕੇਈ ਕੇਇ ॥
Gurmukhaa man pargaas hai say virlay kay-ee kay-ay
The minds of the Guru’s followers are spiritually enlightened; but they are rare.
ਜੇਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਆਤਮਕ ਚਾਨਣ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਅਜੇਹੇ ਬੰਦੇ ਕੋਈ ਵਿਰਲੇ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਹਉ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ਤਿਨ ਕਉ ਜਿਨ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਇਆ ਗੁਰਮਤੇ ॥
ha-o balihaaree tin ka-o jin har paa-i-aa gurmatay.
I dedicate my life to those who have realized God, through the Guru’s teaching.
ਮੈਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਬੰਦਿਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਸਦਕੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਮਤਿ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ।
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕਿ ਕਮਲੁ ਪਰਗਾਸਿਆ ਮਨਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਵੁਠੜਾ ਹੇ ॥੪॥
jan naanak kamal pargaasi-aa man har har vuth-rhaa hay. ||4||
The God has come to dwell in the mind of Nanak and he feels delighted.
ਨਾਨਕ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆ ਵੱਸਿਆ, ਉਸ ਦਾ ਹਿਰਦਾ-ਕੌਲ-ਫੁੱਲ ਖਿੜ ਪਿਆ ਹੈl
ਮਨਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਜਪਨੁ ਕਰੇ ॥
man har har japan karay.
O’ my mind meditate on God’s Name with love and devotion.
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦੇ! ਤੂੰ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਉਚਾਰਣ ਕਰ।
ਹਰਿ ਗੁਰ ਸਰਣਾਈ ਭਜਿ ਪਉ ਜਿੰਦੂ ਸਭ ਕਿਲਵਿਖ ਦੁਖ ਪਰਹਰੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
har gur sarnaa-ee bhaj pa-o jindoo sabh kilvikh dukh parharay. ||1|| rahaa-o.
O’ my mind run to the refuge of God-Guru and end all your sorrows and sins.
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦੜੀਏ! ਤੂੰ ਨੱਠ ਕੇ ਰੱਬ ਰੂਪ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਪਨਾਹ ਲੈ ਲੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਪਾਪ ਤੇ ਦੁਖੜੇ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਜਾਣਗੇ l
ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਰਮਈਆ ਮਨਿ ਵਸੈ ਕਿਉ ਪਾਈਐ ਕਿਤੁ ਭਤਿ ॥
ghat ghat rama-ee-aa man vasai ki-o paa-ee-ai kit bhat.
When God dwells in each and every heart (but is not visible) ; then how can one seek Him (realize Him)?
ਹਰੇਕ ਘਟ ਵਿਚ, ਹਰੇਕ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਸੋਹਣਾ ਰਾਮ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ (ਪਰ ਦਿੱਸਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ। ਉਹ) ਕਿਵੇਂ ਲੱਭੇ? ਕਿਸ ਤਰੀਕੇ ਨਾਮ ਮਿਲੇ?
ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਭੇਟੀਐ ਹਰਿ ਆਇ ਵਸੈ ਮਨਿ ਚਿਤਿ ॥
gur pooraa satgur bhaytee-ai har aa-ay vasai man chit.
It is by meeting and following the teachings of the perfect Guru, God comes to dwell in the conscious mind.
ਜੋ ਪੂਰਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲ ਪਏ, ਤਾਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ (ਆਪ) ਆ ਕੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਚਿੱਤ ਵਿਚ ਵੱਸ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਮੈ ਧਰ ਨਾਮੁ ਅਧਾਰੁ ਹੈ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੈ ਤੇ ਗਤਿ ਮਤਿ ॥
mai Dhar naam aDhaar hai har naamai tay gat mat.
My only support is God’s Name. It is only from Naam, I obtain high spiritual state and understanding.
ਮੇਰੇ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਤਾਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਹੀ ਆਸਰਾ ਹੈ, ਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਹੀ ਉੱਚੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਮਿਲਦੀ ਹੈ, ਤੇ ਅਕਲ ਮਿਲਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਮੈ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਿਸਾਹੁ ਹੈ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੇ ਹੀ ਜਤਿ ਪਤਿ ॥
mai har har naam visaahu hai har naamay hee jat pat.
In God’s Name alone, I put my trust. Naam is my social status and honor.
ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੇਰਾ ਭਰੋਸਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਹੀ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਾਤ ਤੇ ਇਜ਼ਤ ਆਬਰੂ ਹੈ।
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇਆ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਤੜਾ ਹਰਿ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਤਿ ॥੫॥
jan naanak naam Dhi-aa-i-aa rang rat-rhaa har rang rat. ||5||
O’ Nanak, the one who has lovingly remembered God; he remains imbued with God’s deep love.
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਿਆ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਦੇ ਰੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਰੰਗਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ l
ਹਰਿ ਧਿਆਵਹੁ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸਤਿ ॥
har Dhi-aavahu har parabh sat.
Always Keep remembering God with love and devotion.
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਹਰਿ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਮਰਦੇ ਰਹੋ।
ਗੁਰ ਬਚਨੀ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਜਾਣਿਆ ਸਭ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਤੇ ਉਤਪਤਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
gur bachnee har parabh jaani-aa sabh har parabh tay utpat. ||1|| rahaa-o.
God, from whom all creation has originated can be realized only through the Guru’s teaching.
ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਤੋਂ ਇਹ ਸਾਰੀ ਜਗਤ-ਰਚਨਾ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ। ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂਨਾਲ ਡੂੰਘੀ ਸਾਂਝ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਬਚਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਹੀ ਪੈ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ l
ਜਿਨ ਕਉ ਪੂਰਬਿ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਸੇ ਆਇ ਮਿਲੇ ਗੁਰ ਪਾਸਿ ॥
jin ka-o poorab likhi-aa say aa-ay milay gur paas.
Those who have such pre-ordained destiny, come to meet the Guru.
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲਈ ਧੁਰ ਦੀ ਐਸੀ ਲਿਖਤ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਕੋਲ ਆਉਂਦੇ ਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਸੇਵਕ ਭਾਇ ਵਣਜਾਰਿਆ ਮਿਤ੍ਰਾ ਗੁਰੁ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਪ੍ਰਗਾਸਿ ॥
sayvak bhaa-ay vanjaari-aa mitraa gur har har naam pargaas.
O’ my friend, they who approach the Guru with a spirit of service and humility, Guru illuminates their minds with Naam.
ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਵਣਜ ਕਰਨ ਆਏ ਹੇ ਮਿਤ੍ਰ! ਸੇਵਕ-ਭਾਵ ਵਿਚ ਰਿਹਾਂ ਗੁਰੂ (ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਪਰਗਟ ਕਰ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਧਨੁ ਧਨੁ ਵਣਜੁ ਵਾਪਾਰੀਆ ਜਿਨ ਵਖਰੁ ਲਦਿਅੜਾ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਸਿ ॥
Dhan Dhan vanaj vapaaree-aa jin vakhar ladi-arhaa har raas.
Blessed are the God-loving people and their efforts of collecting the wealth of God’s Name.
ਵਡਿਆਉਣ-ਜੋਗ ਹੈ ਇਹ ਵਣਜ ਤੇ ਉਹ ਜੀਵ-ਵਣਜਾਰੇ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਸੱਚਾ ਮਾਲ ਇਕੱਠਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ।
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਾ ਦਰਿ ਮੁਖ ਉਜਲੇ ਸੇ ਆਇ ਮਿਲੇ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਸਿ ॥
gurmukhaa dar mukh ujlay say aa-ay milay har paas.
Guru’s followers are honored in God’s court; they meet and merge with Him.
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਬੰਦਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਮੂੰਹ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਦਰ ਤੇ ਰੌਸ਼ਨ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਆ ਮਿਲਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰੁ ਤਿਨ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਿਨਾ ਆਪਿ ਤੁਠਾ ਗੁਣਤਾਸਿ ॥੬॥
jan naanak gur tin paa-i-aa jinaa aap tuthaa guntaas. ||6||
O’ Nanak, only those persons have found the Guru on whom God, the treasure of all virtues, is pleased.
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਗੁਰੂ ਭੀ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਆਪ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ l
ਹਰਿ ਧਿਆਵਹੁ ਸਾਸਿ ਗਿਰਾਸਿ ॥
har Dhi-aavahu saas giraas.
Lovingly meditate on God’s Name with every breath and morsel of food.
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਹਰੇਕ ਸਾਹ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਹਰੇਕ ਗਿਰਾਹੀ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਧਿਆਨ ਧਰਦੇ ਰਹੋ।
ਮਨਿ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਲਗੀ ਤਿਨਾ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਾ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਿਨਾ ਰਹਰਾਸਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥੧॥
man pareet lagee tinaa gurmukhaa har naam jinaa rahraas. ||1|| rahaa-o. ||1||
Only those Guru’s followers are imbued with love for God whose true wealth in life is God’s Name.
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਪਵਿੱਤ੍ਰ ਪੁਰਸ਼ਾਂ ਦੀ ਜੀਵਨ ਰਹੁ ਰੀਤੀ ਹਰੀ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਹੈ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਅੰਦਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦਾ ਪਿਆਰ ਪੈ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
