ਇਹੁ ਜਨਮੁ ਪਦਾਰਥੁ ਪਾਇ ਕੈ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਨ ਚੇਤੈ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਇ ॥
ih janam padaarath paa-ay kai har naam na chaytai liv laa-ay.
In spite of having been blessed with this human life, many people do not recite Naam with devotion.
ਇਹ ਕੀਮਤੀ ਮਨੁੱਖਾ ਜਨਮ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰ ਕੇ (ਮੂਰਖ ਮਨੁੱਖ) ਸੁਰਤ ਜੋੜ ਕੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਿਮਰਦਾ।
ਪਗਿ ਖਿਸਿਐ ਰਹਣਾ ਨਹੀ ਆਗੈ ਠਉਰੁ ਨ ਪਾਇ ॥
pagkhisi-ai rahnaa nahee aagaitha-ur na paa-ay.
(They don’t realize it that) When death comes, they won’t be able to stay here and will find no place of rest in the next world.
ਜਦੋਂ ਸਰੀਰ ਢਹਿ ਪਿਆ ਇੱਥੇ ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕਿਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾ ਸਕੇਗਾ ਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਸਖਣੇ ਨੂੰ ਦਰਗਾਹ ਵਿਚ ਭੀ ਥਾਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲਦੀ lਓਹ ਵੇਲਾ ਹਥਿ ਨ
ਓਹ ਵੇਲਾ ਹਥਿ ਨ ਆਵਈ ਅੰਤਿ ਗਇਆ ਪਛੁਤਾਇ ॥
oh vaylaa hath na aavee ant ga-i-aa pachhutaa-ay.
This opportunity shall not come again. In the end, they willdepart, regretting and repenting.
(ਮੌਤ ਆਇਆਂ) ਸਿਮਰਨ ਦਾ ਸਮਾ ਮਿਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ। ਆਖ਼ਰ (ਮੂਰਖ ਜੀਵ) ਪਛੁਤਾਂਦਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਜਿਸੁ ਨਦਰਿ ਕਰੇ ਸੋ ਉਬਰੈ ਹਰਿ ਸੇਤੀ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਇ ॥੪॥
jis nadar karay so ubrai har saytee liv laa-ay. ||4||
Those whom the Almighty blesses with His Glance of Grace are saved; they are lovingly attuned to Him.
ਜਿਸ ਉਤੇ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਆਪਣੀ ਰਹਿਮਤ ਦੀ ਨਿਗ੍ਹਾ ਧਾਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਪਾ ਕੇ ਪਾਰ ਉਤਰ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਦੇਖਾ ਦੇਖੀ ਸਭ ਕਰੇ ਮਨਮੁਖਿ ਬੂਝ ਨ ਪਾਇ ||
daykhaadaykhee sabh karay manmukh boojh na paa-ay.
Those who make a show of being devoted to God but do not have real love for Him. All those self-conceited persons do not understand the true path to God.
ਮਨਮੁਖਿ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਵਿਖਾਵੇ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਾਤਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਹੀ ਜੀਵਨ ਜੀਊਣ ਦੀ ਸਮਝ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਂਦੀ।
ਜਿਨ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਹਿਰਦਾ ਸੁਧੁ ਹੈ ਸੇਵ ਪਈ ਤਿਨ ਥਾਇ ॥
jin gurmukh hirdaa suDh hai sayv pa-eetin thaa-ay.
But the devotion of those, whose hearts are blessed by Guru’s grace, get accepted by God.
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਹਿਰਦਾ ਪਵ੍ਰਿਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਘਾਲ-ਕਮਾਈ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਦਰ ਤੇ ਕਬੂਲ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵਹਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਿਤ ਪੜਹਿ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਇ ਸਮਾਇ ॥
har gun gaavahi har nit parheh har gun gaa-ay samaa-ay.
They sing the Glorious Praise of God; they read about God each day. Singing the Praise of God, they merge in absorption.
ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਹਰੀ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾ ਕੇ ਹਰੀ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਨਿੱਤ ਹਰੀ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਤੇ ਪੜ੍ਹਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਤਿਨ ਕੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਸਦਾ ਸਚੁ ਹੈ ਜਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਰਹੇ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਇ ॥੫॥੪॥੩੭॥
naanaktin kee banee sadaa sach hai je naam rahay liv laa-ay. ||5||4||37||
O Nanak, the words of those who are lovingly attuned to the Naam are true forever.
ਹੈ ਨਾਨਕ! ਸਦੀਵ ਹੀ ਸੱਚਾ ਹੈ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਬਚਨ ਜੋ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਪਿਆਰ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।

Siree Raag, by the Third Guru:
ਜਿਨੀ ਇਕ ਮਨਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇਆ ਗੁਰਮਤੀ ਵੀਚਾਰਿ ॥
jinee ik man naamDhi-aa-i-aa gurmatee veechaar.
Those who meditate single-mindedly on the Naam, and contemplate the Teachings of the Guru.
ਜੋ ਇਕ ਚਿੱਤ ਹਰੀ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਚਿੰਤਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਨੂੰ ਸੋਚਦੇ ਵਿਚਾਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਤਿਨ ਕੇ ਮੁਖ ਸਦ ਉਜਲੇ ਤਿਤੁ ਸਚੈ ਦਰਬਾਰਿ ॥
tin kay mukh sad ujlaytit sachaidarbaar.
their faces are forever radiant in the Court of the True God.
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਚਿਹਰੇ ਉਸ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੀ ਸੱਚੀ ਦਰਗਾਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਰੋਸ਼ਨ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਓਇ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਪੀਵਹਿ ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਸਚੈ ਨਾਮਿ ਪਿਆਰਿ ॥੧॥
o-ay amrit peeveh sadaa sadaa sachai naam pi-aar. ||1||
They relish the Ambrosial Nectar forever and ever, and they love the True Name.
ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਪਿਆਰ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਸਦਾ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਨਾਮ-ਜਲ ਪੀਂਦੇ ਹਨ l
ਭਾਈ ਰੇ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਸਦਾ ਪਤਿ ਹੋਇ ॥
bhaa-ee ray gurmukh sadaa pat ho-ay.
O’ Brother, by following Guru’s advice, one is honored for ever.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪਿਆਂ ਸਦਾ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਮਿਲਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਸਦਾ ਧਿਆਈਐ ਮਲੁ ਹਉਮੈ ਕਢੈ ਧੋਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
har har sadaaDhi-aa-ee-ai mal ha-umai kadhaiDho-ay. ||1|| rahaa-o.
We should contemplate on God for ever and thus, the filth of egotism gets washed off.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ। ਗੁਰੂ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਹਉਮੈ ਦੀ ਮੈਲ ਧੋ ਕੇ ਕੱਢ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ l
ਮਨਮੁਖ ਨਾਮੁ ਨ ਜਾਣਨੀ ਵਿਣੁ ਨਾਵੈ ਪਤਿ ਜਾਇ ॥
manmukh naam na jaannee vin naavai pat jaa-ay.
The self-willed manmukh do not know the Naam. Without the Naam, they lose their honor.
ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਦੇ ਪਿਛੇ ਤੁਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਬੰਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਨਾਮ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਂਝ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾਂਦੇ। ਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਚਲੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਸਬਦੈ ਸਾਦੁ ਨ ਆਇਓ ਲਾਗੇ ਦੂਜੈ ਭਾਇ ॥
sabdai saad na aa-i-o laagaydoojaibhaa-ay.
They do not savor the Taste of the Shabad; they are attached to the love of duality.
ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦਾ ਆਨੰਦ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਂਦਾ, ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਸਾਰ ਕੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਹੋਰ ਪਿਆਰ ਵਿਚ ਮਸਤ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਵਿਸਟਾ ਕੇ ਕੀੜੇ ਪਵਹਿ ਵਿਚਿ ਵਿਸਟਾ ਸੇ ਵਿਸਟਾ ਮਾਹਿ ਸਮਾਇ ॥੨॥
vistaa kay keerhay paveh vich vistaa say vistaa maahi samaa-ay. ||2||
They are like worms in the filth (of vices), they fall in that filth and are consumed in there (in the filth of vices).
ਉਹ ਬੰਦੇ (ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ) ਗੰਦ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਰਹਿ ਕੇ ਗੰਦ ਦੇ ਕੀੜਿਆਂ ਵਾਂਗ (ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ) ਗੰਦ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਪਏ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ
ਤਿਨ ਕਾ ਜਨਮੁ ਸਫਲੁ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਚਲਹਿ ਸਤਗੁਰ ਭਾਇ ॥
tin kaa janam safal hai jo chaleh satgurbhaa-ay.
Fruitful are the lives of those who walk in harmony with the Will of the Guru.
ਜੇਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਵਿਚ ਜੀਵਨ ਬਿਤੀਤ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਕਾਮਯਾਬ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਕੁਲੁ ਉਧਾਰਹਿ ਆਪਣਾ ਧੰਨੁ ਜਣੇਦੀ ਮਾਇ ॥
kul uDhaareh aapnaaDhan janaydee maa-ay.
Their families are saved; blessed are the mothers who gave birth to them.
ਉਹ ਆਪਣਾ ਸਾਰਾ ਖ਼ਾਨਦਾਨ (ਹੀ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ) ਬਚਾ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਜੰਮਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਮਾਂ ਸੋਭਾ ਖੱਟਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਈਐ ਜਿਸ ਨਉ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰੇ ਰਜਾਇ ॥੩॥
har har naamDhi-aa-ee-ai jis na-o kirpaa karay rajaa-ay. ||3||
By His Will He grants His Grace; those who are so blessed, meditate on the Name of God.
ਜਿਸ ਉਤੇ ਰਜ਼ਾ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਮਿਹਰ ਧਾਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਜਾਪ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਜਿਨੀ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇਆ ਵਿਚਹੁ ਆਪੁ ਗਵਾਇ ॥
jinee gurmukh naamDhi-aa-i-aa vichahu aap gavaa-ay.
Those, who have contemplated on Naam through the Guru, end up effacing their ego and self-conceit.
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਬੰਦਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਆਪਾ-ਭਾਵ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਿਆ ਹੈ,
ਓਇ ਅੰਦਰਹੁ ਬਾਹਰਹੁ ਨਿਰਮਲੇ ਸਚੇ ਸਚਿ ਸਮਾਇ ॥
o-ay andrahu baahrahu nirmalay sachay sach samaa-ay.
They are pure, inwardly and outwardly; they merge into the Truest of the True.
ਉਹ ਬੰਦੇ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਉਸੇ ਦਾ ਰੂਪ ਬਣ ਕੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਬਾਹਰੋਂ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ l
ਨਾਨਕ ਆਏ ਸੇ ਪਰਵਾਣੁ ਹਹਿ ਜਿਨ ਗੁਰਮਤੀ ਹਰਿ ਧਿਆਇ ॥੪॥੫॥੩੮॥
naanak aa-ay say parvaan heh jin gurmatee harDhi-aa-ay. ||4||5||38||
O Nanak, blessed is the coming of those who follow the Guru’s Teachings and meditate on God’s Name with love and devotion.
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਆਏ (ਜੰਮੇ) ਉਹੀ ਬੰਦੇ ਕਬੂਲ ਹਨ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਮਤਿ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਿਆ ਹੈ

Siree Raag, by the Third Guru:
ਹਰਿ ਭਗਤਾ ਹਰਿ ਧਨੁ ਰਾਸਿ ਹੈ ਗੁਰ ਪੂਛਿ ਕਰਹਿ ਵਾਪਾਰੁ ॥
harbhagtaa harDhan raas hai gur poochh karahi vaapaar.
For God’s devotees, the wealth of Naam is the commodity in which they deal, and under the advice of the Guru, they trade (in this commodity of Naam).
ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸੰਤਾਂ ਦੀ ਦੌਲਤ ਤੇ ਵਖਰ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਲਾਹ-ਮਸ਼ਵਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਉਹ ਵਣਜ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਲਾਹਨਿ ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਵਖਰੁ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਅਧਾਰੁ ॥
har naam salaahan sadaa sadaa vakhar har naam aDhaar.
They praise the Name of God forever and ever. The Name of God is their Merchandise and Support.
ਭਗਤ-ਜਨ ਸਦਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਲਾਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ-ਵੱਖਰ ਹੀ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਹੈ।
ਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਦ੍ਰਿੜਾਇਆ ਹਰਿ ਭਗਤਾ ਅਤੁਟੁ ਭੰਡਾਰੁ ॥੧॥
gur poorai har naam drirh-aa-i-aa harbhagtaa atutbhandaar. ||1||
The Perfect Guru has implanted the Name of God into devotees; for the devotees of God it is an Inexhaustible Treasure.
ਪੂਰੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪੱਕਾ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਹੀ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਪਾਸ ਅਮੁੱਕ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਹੈ
ਭਾਈ ਰੇ ਇਸੁ ਮਨ ਕਉ ਸਮਝਾਇ ॥
bhaa-ee ray is man ka-o samjhaa-ay.
O’ brother, instruct your mind this way:
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! (ਆਪਣੇ) ਇਸ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਝਾ (ਤੇ ਆਖ-)
ਏ ਮਨ ਆਲਸੁ ਕਿਆ ਕਰਹਿ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ay man aalas ki-aa karahi gurmukh naamDhi-aa-ay. ||1|| rahaa-o.
O’ my mind, why are you being lazy? Seek Guru’s guidance and meditate upon God’s Name.
ਹੇ ਮਨ! ਕਿਉਂ ਆਲਸ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈਂ? ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ) ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰ l
ਹਰਿ ਭਗਤਿ ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਪਿਆਰੁ ਹੈ ਜੇ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਕਰੇ ਬੀਚਾਰੁ ॥
harbhagat har kaa pi-aar hai jay gurmukh karay beechaar.
Deep contemplation of God, while paying full attention to the Guru’s advice is true devotion.
ਜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਦੀ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਹੇ ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਵੱਸ ਪੈਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਪਾਖੰਡਿ ਭਗਤਿ ਨ ਹੋਵਈ ਦੁਬਿਧਾ ਬੋਲੁ ਖੁਆਰੁ ॥
pakhandbhagat na hova-eedubiDhaa bolkhu-aar.
Through hypocrisy, God’s worship cannot be done. Any words spoken in duality (love for things other than God) bring harm.
ਪਰ ਪਖੰਡ ਕੀਤਿਆਂ ਭਗਤੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ ਸਕਦੀ, ਪਖੰਡ ਦਾ ਬੋਲ ਖ਼ੁਆਰ ਹੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਸੋ ਜਨੁ ਰਲਾਇਆ ਨਾ ਰਲੈ ਜਿਸੁ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਬਿਬੇਕ ਬੀਚਾਰੁ ॥੨॥
so jan ralaa-i-aa naa ralai jis antar bibayk beechaar. ||2||
But, the person who has true enlightenment and divine knowledge, stands out even in a crowd of hypocrites.
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਖੋਟੇ ਖਰੇ ਦੇ ਪਰਖਣ ਦੀ ਸੂਝ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਖੰਡੀਆਂ ਵਿਚ ਰਲਾਇਆਂ ਰਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ l
ਸੋ ਸੇਵਕੁ ਹਰਿ ਆਖੀਐ ਜੋ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਖੈ ਉਰਿ ਧਾਰਿ ॥
so sayvak har aakhee-ai jo har raakhai urDhaar.
Those who keep God enshrined within their hearts are said to be His servants.
ਉਹੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਸੇਵਕ ਆਖਿਆ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜੇਹੜਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕਾਈ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਸਉਪੇ ਆਗੈ ਧਰੇ ਹਉਮੈ ਵਿਚਹੁ ਮਾਰਿ ॥

ਜੇਹੜਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਹਉਮੈ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਮਨ ਆਪਣਾ ਸਰੀਰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਹਵਾਲੇ ਕਰ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਰੱਖ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਧਨੁ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਸੋ ਪਰਵਾਣੁ ਹੈ ਜਿ ਕਦੇ ਨ ਆਵੈ ਹਾਰਿ ॥੩॥
Dhan gurmukh so parvaan hai je kaday na aavai haar. ||3||
Blessed and accepted by God is the Guru’s follower, who never gets defeated by the vices in the battle of life.
ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਟਾਕਰੇ ਤੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਜਨਮ ਦੀ ਬਾਜ਼ੀ) ਕਦੇ ਹਾਰ ਕੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਂਦਾ, ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਹੋਇਆ ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਹਜ਼ੂਰੀ ਵਿਚ) ਕਬੂਲ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ
ਕਰਮਿ ਮਿਲੈ ਤਾ ਪਾਈਐ ਵਿਣੁ ਕਰਮੈ ਪਾਇਆ ਨ ਜਾਇ ॥
karam milaitaa paa-ee-ai vin karmai paa-i-aa na jaa-ay.
Those who receive His Grace find Him. Without His Grace, He cannot be found.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ (ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ) ਆਪਣੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਮਿਲੇ ਤਾਂ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ, ਮਿਹਰ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ ਸਕਦਾ।
