Raag Raamkalee Fifth Guru:
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਧਿਆਇ ਮਨਾ ਖਿਨੁ ਨ ਵਿਸਾਰੀਐ ॥
har har Dhi-aa-ay manaa khin na visaaree-ai.
O’ my mind, we should always lovingly meditate on God and we should not forget Him even for a moment.
ਹੇ (ਮੇਰੇ) ਮਨ! ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਧਿਆਨ ਧਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ, ਰਤਾ ਜਿਤਨੇ ਸਮੇ ਲਈ ਭੀ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਭੁਲਾਣਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ।
ਰਾਮ ਰਾਮਾ ਰਾਮ ਰਮਾ ਕੰਠਿ ਉਰ ਧਾਰੀਐ ॥
raam raamaa raam ramaa kanth ur Dhaaree-ai.
We should enshrine the Name of the all-pervading God within our heart.
ਉਸ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਰਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਗਲ ਵਿਚ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰੋ ਰੱਖਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਉਰ ਧਾਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਪੂਰਨੁ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਨਿਰੰਜਨੋ ॥
ur Dhaar har har purakh pooran paarbarahm niranjano.
O’ dear! enshrine within your heart the all pervading master of all virtues, supreme and immaculate God:
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਸਭ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਾਲਕ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਨਿਰਲੇਪ ਹਰੀ ਸਰਬ-ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਸਦਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰੋਈ ਰੱਖ,
ਭੈ ਦੂਰਿ ਕਰਤਾ ਪਾਪ ਹਰਤਾ ਦੁਸਹ ਦੁਖ ਭਵ ਖੰਡਨੋ ॥
bhai door kartaa paap hartaa dusah dukh bhav khandno.
He is the dispeller of fears, destroyer of sins and unbearable sufferings; He is the liberator from the cycle of birth and death.
ਉਹ ਹਰੀ ਸਾਰੇ ਡਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਦੂਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਸਾਰੇ ਪਾਪ ਨਾਸ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਅਸਹਿ ਦੁੱਖਾਂ ਦਾ ਨਾਸ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ; ਉਹ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਦੇ ਗੇੜ ਨੂੰ ਮੁਕਾਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ।
ਜਗਦੀਸ ਈਸ ਗੋੁਪਾਲ ਮਾਧੋ ਗੁਣ ਗੋਵਿੰਦ ਵੀਚਾਰੀਐ ॥
jagdees ees gopaal maaDho gun govind veechaaree-ai.
We should reflect on the virtues of God who is the Master of the universe, the sustainer of earth and the Master of worldly wealth.
ਜਗਤ ਦੇ ਮਾਲਕ, ਸਭ ਦੇ ਮਾਲਕ, ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਦੇ ਪਾਲਣਹਾਰ, ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਪਤੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ;
ਬਿਨਵੰਤਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਮਿਲਿ ਸੰਗਿ ਸਾਧੂ ਦਿਨਸੁ ਰੈਣਿ ਚਿਤਾਰੀਐ ॥੧॥
binvant naanak mil sang saaDhoo dinas rain chitaaree-ai. ||1||
Nanak prays, joining the company of the Guru, we should always remember God with adoration. ||1||
ਨਾਨਕ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਕਰਦੇ ਰਹਿਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲ ਆਧਾਰੁ ਜਨ ਕਾ ਆਸਰਾ ॥
charan kamal aaDhaar jan kaa aasraa.
O’ my friend!, the immaculate Name of God is the mainstay of His devotees.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਚਰਨ ਹੀ ਭਗਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਦਾ ਸਹਾਰਾ ਹਨ ਆਸਰਾ ਹਨ।
ਮਾਲੁ ਮਿਲਖ ਭੰਡਾਰ ਨਾਮੁ ਅਨੰਤ ਧਰਾ ॥
maal milakh bhandaar naam anant Dharaa.
Enshrining the Name of the infinite God in the heart, to the devotees is like owning the treasures of worldly wealth.
ਬੇਅੰਤ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕਾਣਾ ਹੀ ਭਗਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਧਨ-ਪਦਾਰਥ ਹੈ ਭੁਇਂ ਦੀ ਮਾਲਕੀ ਹੈ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਹੈ।
ਨਾਮੁ ਨਰਹਰ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ਜਿਨ ਕੈ ਰਸ ਭੋਗ ਏਕ ਨਰਾਇਣਾ ॥
naam narhar niDhaan jin kai ras bhog ayk naraa-inaa.
Those within whom is the treasure of God’s Name, for them to meditate on God is like enjoying all the relishes of the world.
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ-ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਨਾਰਾਇਣ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਣਾ ਹੀ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦੇ ਰਸਾਂ ਭੋਗਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਾਣਨਾ ਹੈ।
ਰਸ ਰੂਪ ਰੰਗ ਅਨੰਤ ਬੀਠਲ ਸਾਸਿ ਸਾਸਿ ਧਿਆਇਣਾ ॥
ras roop rang anant beethal saas saas Dhi-aa-inaa.
For them, to remember the limitless God with each and every breath is like enjoying all worldly relishes beauties and pleasures.
ਬੇਅੰਤ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਹਰੇਕ ਸਾਹ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਜਪਦੇ ਰਹਿਣਾ ਹੀ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦੇ ਰੂਪ ਰਸ ਅਤੇ ਰੰਗ-ਤਮਾਸ਼ੇ ਹੈ।
ਕਿਲਵਿਖ ਹਰਣਾ ਨਾਮ ਪੁਨਹਚਰਣਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਮ ਕੀ ਤ੍ਰਾਸ ਹਰਾ ॥
kilvikh harnaa naam punehcharnaa naam jam kee taraas haraa.
God’s Name is the destroyer of sins and atonement for past misdeeds; God’s Name eradicates the fear of death.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਾਰੇ ਪਾਪ ਦੂਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਪ੍ਰਾਸਚਿਤ ਕਰਮ ਹੈ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਹੀ ਮੌਤ ਦਾ ਡਰ ਦੂਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ।
ਬਿਨਵੰਤਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਰਾਸਿ ਜਨ ਕੀ ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲਹ ਆਸਰਾ ॥੨॥
binvant naanak raas jan kee charan kamlah aasraa. ||2||
Nanak prays, the support of God’s immaculate Name is the only wealth of the devotees. ||2||
ਨਾਨਕ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਹੀ ਭਗਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਵਾਸਤੇ (ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਦਾ) ਸਰਮਾਇਆ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਗੁਣ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਤੇਰੇ ਕੋਇ ਨ ਜਾਨਈ ॥
gun bay-ant su-aamee tayray ko-ay na jaan-ee.
O’ my God! limitless are Your virtues and nobody knows the limits of Your virtues.
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ! ਤੇਰੇ ਗੁਣ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਹਨ, ਕੋਈ ਭੀ ਜੀਵ (ਤੇਰੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਅੰਤ) ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦਾ।
ਦੇਖਿ ਚਲਤ ਦਇਆਲ ਸੁਣਿ ਭਗਤ ਵਖਾਨਈ ॥
daykh chalat da-i-aal sun bhagat vakhaana-ee.
O’ merciful God! whoever tries to describe Your virtues, he does so by seeing Your wondrous plays or by hearing Your virtues from Your devotees.
ਹੇ ਦਇਆਲਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਜਿਹੜਾ ਭੀ ਕੋਈ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਤੇਰੇ ਕੁਝ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਬਿਆਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਤੇਰੇ ਕੁਝ ਕੌਤਕ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਜਾਂ ਭਗਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਹੀ ਬਿਆਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਜੀਅ ਜੰਤ ਸਭਿ ਤੁਝੁ ਧਿਆਵਹਿ ਪੁਰਖਪਤਿ ਪਰਮੇਸਰਾ ॥
jee-a jant sabh tujh Dhi-aavahi purakhpat parmaysraa.
O’ the supreme Master-God of beings, all creatures worship You.
ਹੇ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਾਲਕ! ਹੇ ਪਰਮੇਸਰ! ਸਾਰੇ ਜੀਵ ਜੰਤ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਧਿਆਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਸਰਬ ਜਾਚਿਕ ਏਕੁ ਦਾਤਾ ਕਰੁਣਾ ਮੈ ਜਗਦੀਸਰਾ ॥
sarab jaachik ayk daataa karunaa mai jagdeesraa.
O’ merciful Master of the universe, all are beggars and You are the only one merciful benefactor.
ਹੇ ਤਰਸ-ਰੂਪ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਹੇ ਜਗਤ ਦੇ ਈਸ਼੍ਵਰ! ਤੂੰ ਇਕੱਲਾ ਦਾਤਾ ਹੈਂ, ਸਾਰੇ ਜੀਵ (ਤੇਰੇ ਦਰ ਦੇ) ਮੰਗਤੇ ਹਨ।
ਸਾਧੂ ਸੰਤੁ ਸੁਜਾਣੁ ਸੋਈ ਜਿਸਹਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਜੀ ਮਾਨਈ ॥
saaDhoo sant sujaan so-ee jisahi parabh jee maana-ee.
That person alone is holy, a saint and wise, whom God bestows glory.
ਉਹੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਾਧੂ ਹੈ ਉਹੀ ਸੁਜਾਨ ਸੰਤ ਹੈ,ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਆਦਰ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਦਾ ਹੈ
ਬਿਨਵੰਤਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਕਰਹੁ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਸੋਇ ਤੁਝਹਿ ਪਛਾਨਈ ॥੩॥
binvant naanak karahu kirpaa so-ay tujheh pachhaana-ee. ||3||
Nanak submits, O’ God! one upon whom You bestow mercy, he alone realizes You. ||3||
ਨਾਨਕ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ-ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਜਿਸ ਜੀਵ ਉਤੇ ਤੂੰ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਉਹੀ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਪਛਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ (ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਡੂੰਘੀ ਸਾਂਝ ਪਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ) ॥੩॥
ਮੋਹਿ ਨਿਰਗੁਣ ਅਨਾਥੁ ਸਰਣੀ ਆਇਆ ॥
mohi nirgun anaath sarnee aa-i-aa.
I was unvirtuous and supportless, I have come to the Guru’s refuge.
ਮੈਂ ਗੁਣ-ਹੀਨ ਸਾਂ, ਮੈਂ ਨਿਆਸਰਾ ਸਾਂ ਮੈਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਆ ਪਿਆ ਹਾਂ l
ਬਲਿ ਬਲਿ ਬਲਿ ਗੁਰਦੇਵ ਜਿਨਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਦ੍ਰਿੜਾਇਆ ॥
bal bal bal gurdayv jin naam drirh-aa-i-aa.
I am dedicated to the Divine-Guru, who has implanted God’s Name within me.
ਮੈਂ ਗੁਰਦੇਵ ਤੋਂ ਸਦਕੇ, ਬਲਿਹਾਰ, ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਜਿਸ ਨੇ (ਮੇਰੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ) ਨਾਮ ਪੱਕਾ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।
ਗੁਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਦੀਆ ਕੁਸਲੁ ਥੀਆ ਸਰਬ ਇਛਾ ਪੁੰਨੀਆ ॥
gur naam dee-aa kusal thee-aa sarab ichhaa punnee-aa.
The Guru blessed me with Naam; celestial peace welled up within me and all my wishes were fulfilled.
ਗੁਰ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਨਾਮ ਬਖਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਹੈ, ਮੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਆਤਮਕ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਉਤਪੰਨ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੀਆਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਖ਼ਾਹਿਸ਼ਾਂ ਪੂਰੀਆਂ ਹੋ ਗਈਆਂ ਹਨ।
ਜਲਨੇ ਬੁਝਾਈ ਸਾਂਤਿ ਆਈ ਮਿਲੇ ਚਿਰੀ ਵਿਛੁੰਨਿਆ ॥
jalnay bujhaa-ee saaNt aa-ee milay chiree vichhunni-aa.
The Guru quenched the fire of my desires, tranquility welled up and I got united with God from whom I had been separated for such a long time.
ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਦੀ ਅੱਗ ਬੁੱਝਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਠੰਢ ਪੈ ਗਈ, ਚਿਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਤੋਂ ਵਿਛੁੜਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਮੈੈ ਮੁੜ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਪਿਆ।
ਆਨੰਦ ਹਰਖ ਸਹਜ ਸਾਚੇ ਮਹਾ ਮੰਗਲ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਇਆ ॥
aanand harakh sahj saachay mahaa mangal gun gaa-i-aa.
I have received happiness, spiritual peace and poise by singing songs of joy and praises of God.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਪਰਮ ਕੀਰਤੀ ਗਾਇਨ ਕਰਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਸੱਚੀ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ਨਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋ ਗਈਆਂ ਹਨ।
ਬਿਨਵੰਤਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਾ ਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੇ ਤੇ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੪॥੨॥
binvant naanak naam parabh kaa gur pooray tay paa-i-aa. ||4||2||
Nanak submits, I have received God’s Name from the perfect Guru. ||4||2||
ਨਾਨਕ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ- ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਮੈਂ ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ ॥੪॥੨॥

Raag Raamkalee, Fifth Guru:
ਰੁਣ ਝੁਣੋ ਸਬਦੁ ਅਨਾਹਦੁ ਨਿਤ ਉਠਿ ਗਾਈਐ ਸੰਤਨ ਕੈ ॥
run jhuno sabad anaahad nit uth gaa-ee-ai santan kai.
Everyday early morning, we should join the company of saints and sing the divine words of God’s praises continuously in a sweet and soft tune.
ਨਿੱਤ ਆਹਰ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੀ ਮਿਠੀ ਮਿਠੀ ਸੁਰ ਵਾਲੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਇਕ-ਰਸ ਗਾਵਣੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਕਿਲਵਿਖ ਸਭਿ ਦੋਖ ਬਿਨਾਸਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪੀਐ ਗੁਰ ਮੰਤਨ ਕੈ ॥
kilvikh sabh dokh binaasan har naam japee-ai gur mantan kai.
We should lovingly meditate on God’s Name, the destroyer of all sins and vices, through the Guru’s teachings.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ, ਜੋ ਸਾਰੇ ਪਾਪਾਂ ਤੇ ਐਬਾਂ ਦਾ ਨਾਸ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਉਤੇ ਤੁਰ ਕੇ ਜਪਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਲੀਜੈ ਅਮਿਉ ਪੀਜੈ ਰੈਣਿ ਦਿਨਸੁ ਅਰਾਧੀਐ ॥
har naam leejai ami-o peejai rain dinas araaDhee-ai.
We should recite God’s Name, we should drink the ambrosial nectar of Naam and always remember Him with adoration.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ, ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਨਾਮ-ਜਲ ਪੀਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ, ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਆਰਾਧਨ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਜੋਗ ਦਾਨ ਅਨੇਕ ਕਿਰਿਆ ਲਗਿ ਚਰਣ ਕਮਲਹ ਸਾਧੀਐ ॥
jog daan anayk kiri-aa lag charan kamlah saaDhee-ai.
One receives the merits of many acts of yoga, charity and many such faith rituals by focusing his mind on the immaculate Name of God.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਜੋਗ-ਸਾਧਨਾਂ ਦਾ, ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਦਾਨ-ਪੁੰਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਅਜਿਹੀਆ ਹੋਰ ਕਿਰਿਆਵਾਂ ਦਾ ਫਲ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਭਾਉ ਭਗਤਿ ਦਇਆਲ ਮੋਹਨ ਦੂਖ ਸਗਲੇ ਪਰਹਰੈ ॥
bhaa-o bhagat da-i-aal mohan dookh saglay parharai.
The loving devotional worship of the merciful and enticing God dispels all sufferings.
ਦਇਆਲ ਮੋਹਨ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੇਮਾ-ਭਗਤੀ ਸਾਰੇ ਦੁੱਖ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਦੇਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਬਿਨਵੰਤਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਤਰੈ ਸਾਗਰੁ ਧਿਆਇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਨਰਹਰੈ ॥੧॥
binvant naanak tarai saagar Dhi-aa-ay su-aamee narharai. ||1||
Nanak submits that one swims across the worldly ocean of vices by lovingly remembering the Master-God. ||1||
ਨਾਨਕ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਮਰ ਕੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਸੁਖ ਸਾਗਰ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਸਿਮਰਣੁ ਭਗਤ ਗਾਵਹਿ ਗੁਣ ਤੇਰੇ ਰਾਮ ॥
sukh saagar gobind simran bhagat gaavahi gun tayray raam.
O’ God, the Ocean of bliss and Master of the universe, Your devotees lovingly remember You and sing Your praises:
ਹੇ ਸੁਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ! (ਤੇਰੇ) ਭਗਤ (ਤੇਰਾ) ਸਿਮਰਨ (ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ), ਤੇਰੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ;
ਅਨਦ ਮੰਗਲ ਗੁਰ ਚਰਣੀ ਲਾਗੇ ਪਾਏ ਸੂਖ ਘਨੇਰੇ ਰਾਮ ॥
anad mangal gur charnee laagay paa-ay sookh ghanayray raam.
They receive bliss, all kind of joys and comforts by humbly following the Guru’s teachings.
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਚਰਨੀਂ ਲੱਗ ਕੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਆਨੰਦ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ੀਆਂ ਤੇ ਸੁਖ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਸੁਖ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਦੂਖ ਹਰਿਆ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਰਾਖਿਆ ॥
sukh niDhaan mili-aa dookh hari-aa kirpaa kar parabh raakhi-aa.
One who realized God, the treasure of peace, God bestowed mercy and protected him; all his sorrows vanished.
ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਖਾਂ ਦਾ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਮਿਲ ਗਿਆ,ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਕੀਤੀ; ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਦੁੱਖ ਨਿਵਿਰਤ ਹੋ ਗਏ l
ਹਰਿ ਚਰਣ ਲਾਗਾ ਭ੍ਰਮੁ ਭਉ ਭਾਗਾ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਰਸਨਾ ਭਾਖਿਆ ॥
har charan laagaa bharam bha-o bhaagaa har naam rasnaa bhaakhi-aa.
One who focused his mind on God’s immaculate Name and recited God’s Name with his tongue, all his dread and doubts ran away.
ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜ ਗਿਆ, ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਆਪਣੀ ਜੀਭ ਨਾਲ ਉਚਾਰਨਾ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਉਸ ਦਾ ਹਰੇਕ ਕਿਸਮ ਦਾ ਭਰਮ-ਵਹਿਮ ਤੇ ਡਰ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ।
ਹਰਿ ਏਕੁ ਚਿਤਵੈ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਏਕੁ ਗਾਵੈ ਹਰਿ ਏਕੁ ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟੀ ਆਇਆ ॥
har ayk chitvai parabh ayk gaavai har ayk daristee aa-i-aa.
Such a person then remembers God alone, sings the praises of God alone, and to him God alone is visible pervading everywhere.
ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਫਿਰ) ਇਕ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਚੇਤੇ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਇਕ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ (ਦੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ) ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਗਾਂਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਇਕ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਨਜ਼ਰ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
