ਸੁੰਨ ਸਮਾਧਿ ਗੁਫਾ ਤਹ ਆਸਨੁ ॥
sunn samaaDh gufaa tah aasan.
That heart in which is enshrined the wealth of the Guru’s divine word becomes like a cave where the saints of God abide in deep trance,
(ਜਿਸ ਹਿਰਦੇ-ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਉਹ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਆ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ) ਉਸ ਹਿਰਦੇ-ਗੁਫ਼ਾ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਦੇ ਸੰਤ ਅਫ਼ੁਰ ਸਮਾਧੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਟਿਕੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ,
ਕੇਵਲ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਪੂਰਨ ਤਹ ਬਾਸਨੁ ॥
kayval barahm pooran tah baasan.
only that heart is the perfect dwelling place for God.
ਉਸ ਹਿਰਦੇ-ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਪੂਰਨ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਿਵਾਸ ਬਣਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਭਗਤ ਸੰਗਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਗੋਸਟਿ ਕਰਤ ॥
bhagat sang parabh gosat karat.
There, God holds divine discourse with the saints.
ਉਸ ਹਿਰਦੇ-ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਸੰਤਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਬਚਨ ਬਿਲਾਸ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ
ਤਹ ਹਰਖ ਨ ਸੋਗ ਨ ਜਨਮ ਨ ਮਰਤ ॥੩॥
tah harakh na sog na janam na marat. ||3||
In that heart there is no effect of pleasure or sorrow and the fear of the cycle of birth and death. ||3||
ਉਸ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ੀ ਗ਼ਮੀ ਜਨਮ-ਮਰਨ (ਦੇ ਗੇੜ ਦੇ ਡਰ) ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਅਸਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ ॥੩॥
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਜਿਸੁ ਆਪਿ ਦਿਵਾਇਆ ॥
kar kirpaa jis aap divaa-i-aa.
Bestowing mercy whom God has Himself arranged this treasure (of singing God’s praises) to be given,
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਆਪ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਧਨ ਦਿਵਾਇਆ ਹੈ,
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਤਿਨਿ ਹਰਿ ਧਨੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥
saaDhsang tin har Dhan paa-i-aa.
only that person has received the wealth of Naam in the company of the Guru.
(ਸਿਰਫ਼) ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਰਹਿ ਕੇ ਉਹ ਨਾਮ-ਧਨ ਲੱਭਾ ਹੈ।
ਦਇਆਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਨਾਨਕ ਅਰਦਾਸਿ ॥
da-i-aal purakh naanak ardaas.
O’ merciful God, this is the prayer of Nanak,
ਹੇ ਦਇਆ ਦੇ ਸੋਮੇ ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ! (ਤੇਰੇ ਸੇਵਕ) ਨਾਨਕ ਦੀ ਇਹੀ ਅਰਜ਼ੋਈ ਹੈ,
ਹਰਿ ਮੇਰੀ ਵਰਤਣਿ ਹਰਿ ਮੇਰੀ ਰਾਸਿ ॥੪॥੨੪॥੩੫॥
har mayree vartan har mayree raas. ||4||24||35||
that Your Name may remain my sustenance and my spiritual wealth. ||4||24||35||
ਕਿ ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਮੇਰਾ ਸਰਮਾਇਆ ਬਣਿਆ ਰਹੇ, ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਮੇਰੀ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਦੀ ਵਰਤਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਸ਼ੈ ਬਣੀ ਰਹੇ ॥੪॥੨੪॥੩੫॥

Raag Raamkalee, Fifth Guru:
ਮਹਿਮਾ ਨ ਜਾਨਹਿ ਬੇਦ ॥
mahimaa na jaaneh bayd.
Even the Vedas, the Hindu scriptures, do not understand the glory of God.
ਚਾਰੇ ਵੇਦ ਭੀ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦੇ।
ਬ੍ਰਹਮੇ ਨਹੀ ਜਾਨਹਿ ਭੇਦ ॥
barahmay nahee jaaneh bhayd.
The gods like Brahma also do not know His mystery.
ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਭੀ (ਉਸ ਦੇ) ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦੇ।
ਅਵਤਾਰ ਨ ਜਾਨਹਿ ਅੰਤੁ ॥
avtaar na jaaneh ant.
Even all the incarnations of God do not know His limit.
ਸਾਰੇ ਅਵਤਾਰ ਭੀ ਉਸ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ) ਦਾ ਅੰਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦੇ।
ਪਰਮੇਸਰੁ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਬੇਅੰਤੁ ॥੧॥
parmaysar paarbarahm bay-ant. ||1||
O’ brother, the all pervading supreme God is infinite.||1||
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਪਰਮੇਸਰ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਅਪਨੀ ਗਤਿ ਆਪਿ ਜਾਨੈ ॥
apnee gat aap jaanai.
God alone knows His own worth.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਆਪਣੀ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਸੁਣਿ ਸੁਣਿ ਅਵਰ ਵਖਾਨੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
sun sun avar vakhaanai. ||1|| rahaa-o.
Others speak of Him only by hearsay. ||1||Pause||
(ਜੀਵ) ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਸੁਣ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਹੀ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਬਾਰੇ) ਜ਼ਿਕਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਸੰਕਰਾ ਨਹੀ ਜਾਨਹਿ ਭੇਵ ॥
sankraa nahee jaaneh bhayv.
Many gods like Shiva do not know the secret of God.
ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਸ਼ਿਵ ਜੀ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦੇ,
ਖੋਜਤ ਹਾਰੇ ਦੇਵ ॥
khojat haaray dayv.
Myriads of angels grew weary of searching for Him.
ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਦੇਵਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਖੋਜ ਕਰਦੇ ਕਰਦੇ ਥੱਕ ਗਏ।
ਦੇਵੀਆ ਨਹੀ ਜਾਨੈ ਮਰਮ ॥
dayvee-aa nahee jaanai maram.
Even the goddesses do not know His mystery.
ਦੇਵੀਆਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਭੀ ਕੋਈ ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਭੇਦ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦੀ।
ਸਭ ਊਪਰਿ ਅਲਖ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ॥੨॥
sabh oopar alakh paarbarahm. ||2||
O’ brother, the incomprehensible supreme God is the greatest of all. ||2||
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਸਭਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਡਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਹੀ ਸਰੂਪ ਦਾ ਬਿਆਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ॥੨॥
ਅਪਨੈ ਰੰਗਿ ਕਰਤਾ ਕੇਲ ॥
apnai rang kartaa kayl.
In His own pleasure, the Creator-God plays the worldly plays.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆਪਣੀ ਮੌਜ ਵਿਚ (ਜਗਤ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ) ਕੌਤਕ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ,
ਆਪਿ ਬਿਛੋਰੈ ਆਪੇ ਮੇਲ ॥
aap bichhorai aapay mayl.
God Himself separates people from Himself and then unites them back.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਤੋਂ ਵਿਛੋੜਦਾ ਹੈ, ਆਪ ਹੀ ਮਿਲਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਇਕਿ ਭਰਮੇ ਇਕਿ ਭਗਤੀ ਲਾਏ ॥
ik bharmay ik bhagtee laa-ay.
God has strayed many in doubt and has linked many to His devotional worship.
ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਭਟਕਣਾ ਵਿਚ ਪਾਇਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ, ਤੇ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਵਿਚ ਜੋੜਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ।
ਅਪਣਾ ਕੀਆ ਆਪਿ ਜਣਾਏ ॥੩॥
apnaa kee-aa aap janaa-ay. ||3||
God Himself has created this world, which is His play; He Himself blesses the understanding about it. ||3||
(ਇਹ ਜਗਤ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਦਾ) ਆਪਣਾ ਹੀ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਇਕ ਖੇਲ ਹੈ, ਇਸ ਦੀ ਸੂਝ ਉਹ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਸੰਤਨ ਕੀ ਸੁਣਿ ਸਾਚੀ ਸਾਖੀ ॥
santan kee sun saachee saakhee.
O’ brother, listen to this true story of the saints,
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਸੰਤ-ਜਨਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਇਹ ਸੱਚੀ ਗੱਲ ਸੁਣ।
ਸੋ ਬੋਲਹਿ ਜੋ ਪੇਖਹਿ ਆਖੀ ॥
so boleh jo paykheh aakhee.
they speak only of what they see with their (spiritually enlightened) eyes.
ਸੰਤ ਜਨ ਉਹ ਕੁਝ ਆਖਦੇ ਹਨ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਵੇਖਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਨਹੀ ਲੇਪੁ ਤਿਸੁ ਪੁੰਨਿ ਨ ਪਾਪਿ ॥
nahee layp tis punn na paap.
God is affected neither by any virtue nor by any sin.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਉਤੇ ਨਾਹ ਕਿਸੇ ਪੁੰਨ ਨੇ ਨਾਹ ਕਿਸੇ ਪਾਪ ਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵ ਪਾਇਆ ਹੈ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਕਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਆਪੇ ਆਪਿ ॥੪॥੨੫॥੩੬॥
naanak kaa parabh aapay aap. ||4||25||36||
Nanak’s God is everything by Himself. ||4||25||36||
ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਸਾਰਾ ਕੁਝ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਆਪ ਹੈ ॥੪॥੨੫॥੩੬॥

ਕਿਛਹੂ ਕਾਜੁ ਨ ਕੀਓ ਜਾਨਿ ॥
kichhahoo kaaj na kee-o jaan.
O’ God! knowingly I have not done anything good.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੈਂ ਕੋਈ ਭੀ (ਚੰਗਾ) ਕੰਮ ਮਿਥ ਕੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ ।
ਸੁਰਤਿ ਮਤਿ ਨਾਹੀ ਕਿਛੁ ਗਿਆਨਿ ॥
surat mat naahee kichh gi-aan.
I do not have any knowledge, intelligence or spiritual wisdom,
ਮੇਰੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੋਈ ਸਿਆਣਪ, ਅਕਲਮੰਦੀ ਅਤੇ ਬ੍ਰਹਿਮਬੋਧ ਨਹੀਂ,
ਜਾਪ ਤਾਪ ਸੀਲ ਨਹੀ ਧਰਮ ॥
jaap taap seel nahee Dharam.
I also do not have the merits of meditation, penance, and righteousness.
ਮੇਰੇ ਪੱਲੇ ਜਪ ਤਪ ਨਿਮਰਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਧਰਮ ਭੀ ਨਹੀਂ।
ਕਿਛੂ ਨ ਜਾਨਉ ਕੈਸਾ ਕਰਮ ॥੧॥
kichhoo na jaan-o kaisaa karam. ||1||
I do not know anything about what a good deed is. ||1||
ਮੈਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਸਮਝ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਿ ਨੇਕ ਅਮਲ ਕਿਹੋ ਜਿਹੇ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੧॥
ਠਾਕੁਰ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮੇਰੇ ॥
thaakur pareetam parabh mayray.
O’ my beloved Master-God!
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਠਾਕੁਰ!
ਤੁਝ ਬਿਨੁ ਦੂਜਾ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਈ ਭੂਲਹ ਚੂਕਹ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਤੇਰੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
tujh bin doojaa avar na ko-ee bhoolah chookah parabh tayray. ||1|| rahaa-o.
even if we make mistakes or go astray, we still belong to You; O’ God, except You there is none other for us. ||1||Pause||
ਜੇ ਅਸੀਂ ਭੁੱਲਾਂ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਾਂ, ਜੇ ਜੀਵਨ-ਰਾਹ ਤੋਂ ਖੁੰਝਦੇ ਹਾਂ, ਤਾਂ ਭੀ ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਅਸੀਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਹੀ ਹਾਂ, ਤੈਥੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਸਾਡਾ ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਰਿਧਿ ਨ ਬੁਧਿ ਨ ਸਿਧਿ ਪ੍ਰਗਾਸੁ ॥
riDh na buDh na siDh pargaas.
O’ God, I neither have any power to perform miracles, nor any intellect; I am not spiritually enlightened.
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਕਰਾਮਾਤੀ ਤਾਕਤਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੂਝ-ਬੂਝ ਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ ਮੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ।
ਬਿਖੈ ਬਿਆਧਿ ਕੇ ਗਾਵ ਮਹਿ ਬਾਸੁ ॥
bikhai bi-aaDh kay gaav meh baas.
I live in the village-like body infested with sins and vices.
ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਤੇ ਰੋਗਾਂ ਦੇ ਇਸ ਸਰੀਰ-ਪਿੰਡ ਵਿਚ ਮੇਰਾ ਵਸੇਬਾ ਹੈ।
ਕਰਣਹਾਰ ਮੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਏਕ ॥
karanhaar mayray parabh ayk.
O’ my Creator-God,
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰ!
ਨਾਮ ਤੇਰੇ ਕੀ ਮਨ ਮਹਿ ਟੇਕ ॥੨॥
naam tayray kee man meh tayk. ||2||
within my mind is the support of Your Name alone. ||2||
ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਸਹਾਰਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਸੁਣਿ ਸੁਣਿ ਜੀਵਉ ਮਨਿ ਇਹੁ ਬਿਸ੍ਰਾਮੁ ॥
sun sun jeeva-o man ih bisraam.
O’ God! I spiritually rejuvenate by listening to Your Name again and again; this alone is the consolation in my mind,
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! (ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ) ਸੁਣ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਹੀ ਮੈਂ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ। ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ (ਸਿਰਫ਼) ਇਹ ਧਰਵਾਸ ਹੈ
ਪਾਪ ਖੰਡਨ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਤੇਰੋ ਨਾਮੁ ॥
paap khandan parabh tayro naam.
that Your Name is the destroyer of sins.
ਕਿ ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਪਾਪਾਂ ਦਾ ਨਾਸ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ।
ਤੂ ਅਗਨਤੁ ਜੀਅ ਕਾ ਦਾਤਾ ॥
too agnat jee-a kaa daataa.
O’ God! Your powers are uncountable; You are the benefactor of life.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੇਰੀਆਂ ਤਾਕਤਾਂ ਗਿਣੀਆਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੀਆਂ, ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਜਿੰਦ-ਜਾਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ।
ਜਿਸਹਿ ਜਣਾਵਹਿ ਤਿਨਿ ਤੂ ਜਾਤਾ ॥੩॥
jisahi janaaveh tin too jaataa. ||3||
He alone realizes You, whom You bless intellect to realize You. ||3||
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਤੂੰ ਸੂਝ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਉਸ ਨੇ ਹੀ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਜਾਣ ਪਛਾਣ ਪਾਈ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਜੋ ਉਪਾਇਓ ਤਿਸੁ ਤੇਰੀ ਆਸ ॥
jo upaa-i-o tis tayree aas.
Whosoever You have created, lives on the hope of Your support.
ਜਿਸ ਜਿਸ ਜੀਵ ਨੂੰ ਤੂੰ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਤੇਰੀ (ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਦੀ) ਹੀ ਆਸ ਹੈ।
ਸਗਲ ਅਰਾਧਹਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਗੁਣਤਾਸ ॥
sagal araaDheh parabh guntaas.
O’ God, the treasure of virtues, all beings lovingly remember You.
ਹੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦੇ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਸਾਰੇ ਜੀਵ ਤੇਰਾ ਹੀ ਆਰਾਧਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ l
ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾਸ ਤੇਰੈ ਕੁਰਬਾਣੁ ॥ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਿਹਰਵਾਣੁ ॥੪॥੨੬॥੩੭॥
naanak daas tayrai kurbaan. bay-ant saahib mayraa miharvaan. ||4||26||37||
O’ God! You are my infinite merciful Master and devotee Nanak is dedicated to You. ||4||26||37||

ਰਾਖਨਹਾਰ ਦਇਆਲ ॥

O’ brother, the merciful God is all powerful to protect all beings.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਦਇਆਲ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੀ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਕਰਨ ਦੇ ਸਮਰੱਥ ਹੈ l
ਕੋਟਿ ਭਵ ਖੰਡੇ ਨਿਮਖ ਖਿਆਲ ॥
kot bhav khanday nimakh khi-aal.
Millions of incarnations are eradicated by lovingly remembering God even for an instant.
ਅੱਖ ਫਰਕਣ ਜਿਤਨੇ ਸਮੇ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਭੀ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਕ੍ਰੋੜਾਂ ਜਨਮ ਦੇ ਗੇੜ ਕੱਟੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਸਗਲ ਅਰਾਧਹਿ ਜੰਤ ॥ ਮਿਲੀਐ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਗੁਰ ਮਿਲਿ ਮੰਤ ॥੧॥

All beings worship and adore God, but He can be realized only by meeting and following the Guru’s teachings. ||1||
ਸਾਰੇ ਜੀਵ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਆਰਾਧਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਪਰ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ, ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਸਕੀਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਜੀਅਨ ਕੋ ਦਾਤਾ ਮੇਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ॥
jee-an ko daataa mayraa parabh.
My God is the benefactor of all beings.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਮੇਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਸਭ ਜੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਦਾਤਾਂ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ।
ਪੂਰਨ ਪਰਮੇਸੁਰ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਰਾਤਾ ਮੇਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
pooran parmaysur su-aamee ghat ghat raataa mayraa parabh. ||1|| rahaa-o.
My Master, the all pervading supreme God is permeating in each and every heart. ||1||Pause||
ਉਹ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਪਰਮੇਸਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਸਭ ਵਿਚ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੈ, ਹਰੇਕ ਦਿਲ ਵਿਚ ਰਮਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਤਾ ਕੀ ਗਹੀ ਮਨ ਓਟ ॥
taa kee gahee man ot.
O’ my mind, one who has come to the refuge of God,
ਹੇ ਮਨ! ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਲੈ ਲਿਆ,
ਬੰਧਨ ਤੇ ਹੋਈ ਛੋਟ ॥
banDhan tay ho-ee chhot.
has been liberated from the worldly bonds.
(ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਦੇ) ਬੰਧਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਲਾਸੀ ਹੋ ਗਈ।
ਹਿਰਦੈ ਜਪਿ ਪਰਮਾਨੰਦ ॥
hirdai jap parmaanand.
By meditating on God, the source of supreme bliss,
ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਉੱਚੇ ਸੁਖ ਦੇ ਮਾਲਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਜਪ ਕੇ-
ਮਨ ਮਾਹਿ ਭਏ ਅਨੰਦ ॥੨॥
man maahi bha-ay anand. ||2||
a state of bliss pervades in the mind. ||2||
ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ੀਆਂ ਹੀ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ੀਆਂ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ ॥੨॥
ਤਾਰਣ ਤਰਣ ਹਰਿ ਸਰਣ ॥
taaran taran har saran.
God’s refuge is like a ship to ferry us across the worldly ocean of vices.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ (ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ) ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘਾਣ ਲਈ ਜਹਾਜ਼ ਹੈ।
ਜੀਵਨ ਰੂਪ ਹਰਿ ਚਰਣ ॥
jeevan roop har charan.
God’s immaculate Name is spiritually rejuvenating.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਓਟ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਹੈ।
