Raag Gond:
ਧੰਨੁ ਗੁਪਾਲ ਧੰਨੁ ਗੁਰਦੇਵ ॥
Dhan gupaal Dhan gurdayv.
Praiseworthy is God who sustains the earth and praiseworthy is the divine Guru.
ਧੰਨ ਹੈ ਧਰਤੀ ਦਾ ਪਾਲਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ, ਧੰਨ ਹੈ ਰੱਬ-ਰੂਪ ਗੁਰੂ l
ਧੰਨੁ ਅਨਾਦਿ ਭੂਖੇ ਕਵਲੁ ਟਹਕੇਵ ॥
Dhan anaad bhookhay kaval tehkayv.
Blessed is the grain, which makes the heart of a hungry person bloom.
ਧੰਨ ਹੈ ਅੰਨ ਜਿਸ ਨਾਲ ਭੁੱਖੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਹਿਰਦਾ (ਫੁੱਲ ਵਾਂਗ) ਟਹਿਕ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਧਨੁ ਓਇ ਸੰਤ ਜਿਨ ਐਸੀ ਜਾਨੀ ॥
Dhan o-ay sant jin aisee jaanee.
Blessed are those saints who have understood this aspect of life,
ਉਹ ਸੰਤ ਭੀ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਹਨ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਸਮਝ ਆਈ ਹੈ
ਤਿਨ ਕਉ ਮਿਲਿਬੋ ਸਾਰਿੰਗਪਾਨੀ ॥੧॥
tin ka-o milibo saringpaanee. ||1||
they shall realize God. ||1||
ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਮਿਲੇਗਾ ॥੧॥
ਆਦਿ ਪੁਰਖ ਤੇ ਹੋਇ ਅਨਾਦਿ ॥
aad purakh tay ho-ay anaad.
It is through the blessing of God that all this food is produced,
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਅੰਨ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਤੋਂ ਹੀ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਜਪੀਐ ਨਾਮੁ ਅੰਨ ਕੈ ਸਾਦਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
japee-ai naam ann kai saad. ||1|| rahaa-o.
and it is only when we have eaten food that we can meditate on God’s Name. ||1||Pause||
ਤੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਭੀ ਅੰਨ ਖਾਧਿਆਂ ਹੀ ਜਪਿਆ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਜਪੀਐ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪੀਐ ਅੰਨੁ ॥
japee-ai naam japee-ai ann.
Just as we worship God’s Name, we should also lovingly enjoy eating food.
ਜਿਵੇਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਿਵੇਂ ਅੰਨ ਨੂੰ ਭੀ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ ( ਅੰਨ ਨੂੰ ਇਉਂ ਸਹਿਜੇ ਸਹਿਜੇ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਨਾਲ ਛਕੋ)
ਅੰਭੈ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਨੀਕਾ ਵੰਨੁ ॥
ambhai kai sang neekaa vann.
When mixed with water, the food looks even more pleasing.
ਪਾਣੀ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤ ਨਾਲ ਇਸ ਅੰਨ ਦਾ ਕੇਹਾ ਸੁਹਣਾ ਰੰਗ ਨਿਕਲਦਾ ਹੈ!
ਅੰਨੈ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਜੋ ਨਰ ਹੋਵਹਿ ॥
annai baahar jo nar hoveh.
One who abstains from eating food,
ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਅੰਨ ਤੋਂ ਤਰਕ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ,
ਤੀਨਿ ਭਵਨ ਮਹਿ ਅਪਨੀ ਖੋਵਹਿ ॥੨॥
teen bhavan meh apnee khoveh. ||2||
loses his honor everywhere. ||2||
ਉਹ ਸਭ ਥਾਂ ਆਪਣੀ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਗਵਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ (ਭਾਵ, ਅੰਨ ਦਾ ਤਿਆਗ ਕੋਈ ਐਸਾ ਕੰਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਪਸੰਦ ਕਰੇ) ॥੨॥
ਛੋਡਹਿ ਅੰਨੁ ਕਰਹਿ ਪਾਖੰਡ ॥
chhodeh ann karahi pakhand.
Those who give up eating food, in reality are practicing hypocrisy,
ਜੋ ਲੋਕ ਅੰਨ ਛੱਡ ਦੇਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਤੇ (ਇਹ) ਪਖੰਡ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ,
ਨਾ ਸੋਹਾਗਨਿ ਨਾ ਓਹਿ ਰੰਡ ॥
naa sohaagan naa ohi rand.
They are like those women, who are neither happy brides, nor widows.
ਉਹ (ਉਹਨਾਂ ਕੁਚੱਜੀਆਂ ਜ਼ਨਾਨੀਆਂ ਵਾਂਗ ਹਨ ਜੋ) ਨਾਹ ਸੋਹਾਗਣਾਂ ਹਨ ਨਾਹ ਰੰਡੀਆਂ।
ਜਗ ਮਹਿ ਬਕਤੇ ਦੂਧਾਧਾਰੀ ॥
jag meh baktay dooDhaaDhaaree.
To the world, they may claim that they are surviving only on milk,
(ਅੰਨ ਛੱਡਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਸਾਧੂ,) ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਆਖਦੇ ਫਿਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਅਸੀਂ ਨਿਰਾ ਦੁੱਧ ਪੀ ਕੇ ਹੀ ਨਿਰਬਾਹ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਾਂ,
ਗੁਪਤੀ ਖਾਵਹਿ ਵਟਿਕਾ ਸਾਰੀ ॥੩॥
guptee khaaveh vatikaa saaree. ||3||
but secretly they eat all the sweets which are offered to the idols. ||3||
ਪਰ ਚੋਰੀ ਚੋਰੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਦੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਪਿੰਨੀ ਖਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੩॥
ਅੰਨੈ ਬਿਨਾ ਨ ਹੋਇ ਸੁਕਾਲੁ ॥
annai binaa na ho-ay sukaal.
Without eating food no one’s time can pass in peace.
ਅੰਨ ਤੋਂ ਬਗ਼ੈਰ ਸੁਕਾਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ ਸਕਦਾ|
ਤਜਿਐ ਅੰਨਿ ਨ ਮਿਲੈ ਗੁਪਾਲੁ ॥
taji-ai ann na milai gupaal.
One cannot realize God, by abstaining from food.
ਅੰਨ ਛੱਡਿਆਂ ਰੱਬ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲਦਾ।
ਕਹੁ ਕਬੀਰ ਹਮ ਐਸੇ ਜਾਨਿਆ ॥
kaho kabeer ham aisay jaani-aa.
Kabir says, this is what I have understood,
ਕਬੀਰ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ- ਸਾਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਨਿਸ਼ਚਾ ਹੈ,
ਧੰਨੁ ਅਨਾਦਿ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਮਨੁ ਮਾਨਿਆ ॥੪॥੮॥੧੧॥
Dhan anaad thaakur man maani-aa. ||4||8||11||
that blessed is the food that helps our mind to get focused on God. ||4||8||11||
ਕਿ ਅੰਨ ਬੜਾ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਪਦਾਰਥ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਖਾਧਿਆਂ (ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰ ਕੇ) ਸਾਡਾ ਮਨ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੪॥੮॥੧੧॥

ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥

One eternal God, realized by the grace of the True Guru:
ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਅਸੁਮੇਧ ਜਗਨੇ ॥
asumayDh jagnay.
One may perform the ceremony of horse sacrifice,
ਜੇ ਕੋਈ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਅਸਮੇਧ ਜੱਗ ਕਰੇ,
ਤੁਲਾ ਪੁਰਖ ਦਾਨੇ ॥
tulaa purakh daanay.
may give donations (of Gold etc) equivalent to his weight in charity,
ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਵਾਂ ਤੋਲ ਕੇ (ਸੋਨਾ ਚਾਂਦੀ ਆਦਿਕ) ਦਾਨ ਕਰੇ,
ਪ੍ਰਾਗ ਇਸਨਾਨੇ ॥੧॥
paraag isnaanay. ||1||
or bathe at pilgrimage place like Paraag ||1||
ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਗ ਆਦਿਕ ਤੀਰਥਾਂ ਤੇ ਇਸ਼ਨਾਨ ਕਰੇ ॥੧॥
ਤਉ ਨ ਪੁਜਹਿ ਹਰਿ ਕੀਰਤਿ ਨਾਮਾ ॥
ta-o na pujeh har keerat naamaa.
All these deeds are still not equal to singing the praises of God’s Name.
ਤਾਂ ਭੀ ਇਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਕੰਮ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੀ, ਬਰਾਬਰੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਸਕਦੇ।
ਅਪੁਨੇ ਰਾਮਹਿ ਭਜੁ ਰੇ ਮਨ ਆਲਸੀਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
apunay raameh bhaj ray man aalsee-aa. ||1|| rahaa-o.
O’ my lazy mind, lovingly remember your God. ||1||Pause||
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਆਲਸੀ ਮਨ! ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਮਰ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਗਇਆ ਪਿੰਡੁ ਭਰਤਾ ॥
ga-i-aa pind bhartaa.
One may go to Gaya and offer sweet rice balls for the deceased ancestors,
ਜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗਇਆ ਤੀਰਥ ਤੇ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਪਿਤਰਾਂ ਨਿਮਿੱਤ ਪਿੰਡ ਭਰਾਏ,
ਬਨਾਰਸਿ ਅਸਿ ਬਸਤਾ ॥
banaaras as bastaa.
may live on the banks of Assi river (the holiest Hindus place near Banaras),
ਜੇ ਕਾਂਸ਼ੀ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਵਗਦੀ ਅਸਿ ਨਦੀ ਦੇ ਕੰਢੇ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੋਵੇ,
ਮੁਖਿ ਬੇਦ ਚਤੁਰ ਪੜਤਾ ॥੨॥
mukh bayd chatur parh-taa. ||2||
or recite the four Vedas by heart; ||2||
ਮੂੰਹੋਂ ਚਾਰੇ ਵੇਦ (ਮੂੰਹ-ਜ਼ਬਾਨੀ) ਪੜ੍ਹਦਾ ਹੋਵੇ ॥੨॥
ਸਗਲ ਧਰਮ ਅਛਿਤਾ ॥
sagal Dharam achhitaa.
One may be performing all the faith rituals,
ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਾਰੇ ਕਰਮ ਧਰਮ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੋਵੇ,
ਗੁਰ ਗਿਆਨ ਇੰਦ੍ਰੀ ਦ੍ਰਿੜਤਾ ॥
gur gi-aan indree darirh-taa.
may be keeping all the sense organs under control as per the Guru’s teachings,
ਆਪਣੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਇੰਦ੍ਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਾਬੂ ਵਿਚ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੋਵੇ,
ਖਟੁ ਕਰਮ ਸਹਿਤ ਰਹਤਾ ॥੩॥
khat karam sahit rahtaa. ||3||
and perform all the six deeds prescribed by the Brahmins; ||3||
ਜੇ ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਣਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਛੇ ਹੀ ਕਰਮ ਸਦਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਹੇ ॥੩॥
ਸਿਵਾ ਸਕਤਿ ਸੰਬਾਦੰ ॥ ਮਨ ਛੋਡਿ ਛੋਡਿ ਸਗਲ ਭੇਦੰ ॥
sivaa sakat sambaadaN.man chhod chhod sagal bhaydaN.
O’ my mind, abandon all such rituals, including discourses on Shiva and Parvati; they create separation between you and God
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ! ਸ਼ਿਵ ਤੇ ਪਾਰਬਤੀ ਦੀ ਪਰਸਪਰ ਗੱਲ-ਬਾਤ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਸਾਰੇ ਕਰਮ ਛੱਡ ਦੇਹ, ਇਹ ਸਭ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਵਿੱਥ ਪਾਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਹੀ ਹਨ
ਸਿਮਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਗੋਬਿੰਦੰ ॥ ਭਜੁ ਨਾਮਾ ਤਰਸਿ ਭਵ ਸਿੰਧੰ ॥੪॥੧॥
simar simar gobindaN. bhaj naamaa taras bhav sinDhaN. ||4||1||
O’ Namdev, lovingly remember God and sing His praises, by doing so you would swim across the world-ocean of vices. ||4||1||
ਹੇ ਨਾਮਦੇਵ! ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਦਾ ਭਜਨ ਕਰ, (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ) ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰ, (ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਿਆਂ ਹੀ) ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘੇਂਗਾ ॥੪॥੧॥

ਨਾਦ ਭ੍ਰਮੇ ਜੈਸੇ ਮਿਰਗਾਏ ॥
naad bharamay jaisay mirgaa-ay.
Just as a deer is deluded by the sound of hunter’s bell,
ਜਿਵੇਂ ਹਰਨ (ਆਪਣਾ ਆਪ ਭੁਲਾ ਕੇ) ਨਾਦ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਦੌੜਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਤਜੇ ਵਾ ਕੋ ਧਿਆਨੁ ਨ ਜਾਏ ॥੧॥
paraan tajay vaa ko Dhi-aan na jaa-ay. ||1||
loses its life, but his attention is not diverted away from it. ||1||
ਜਿੰਦ ਦੇ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਪਰ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਨਾਦ ਦਾ ਧਿਆਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਵਿੱਸਰਦਾ ॥੧॥
ਐਸੇ ਰਾਮਾ ਐਸੇ ਹੇਰਉ ॥
aisay raamaa aisay hayra-o.
I also look for God in the same way,
ਮੈਂ ਭੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਇਉਂ ਹੀ ਤੱਕਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
ਰਾਮੁ ਛੋਡਿ ਚਿਤੁ ਅਨਤ ਨ ਫੇਰਉ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
raam chhod chit anat na fayra-o. ||1|| rahaa-o.
I do not let my mind forsake God and wander anywhere else. ||1||Pause||
ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਯਾਦ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਹੋਰ ਪਾਸੇ ਵਲ ਆਪਣੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣ ਦੇਂਦਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਜਿਉ ਮੀਨਾ ਹੇਰੈ ਪਸੂਆਰਾ ॥
ji-o meenaa hayrai pasoo-aaraa.
Just as a fisherman has his eyes on the fish,
ਜਿਵੇਂ ਮਾਹੀਗੀਰ ਮੱਛੀਆਂ ਵਲ ਤੱਕਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਸੋਨਾ ਗਢਤੇ ਹਿਰੈ ਸੁਨਾਰਾ ॥੨॥
sonaa gadh-tay hirai sunaaraa. ||2||
the goldsmith keeps his eye on gold while making ornaments. ||2||
ਜਿਵੇਂ ਸੋਨਾ ਘੜਦਿਆਂ ਸੁਨਿਆਰਾ (ਸੋਨੇ ਵਲ ਗਹੁ ਨਾਲ) ਤੱਕਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਜਿਉ ਬਿਖਈ ਹੇਰੈ ਪਰ ਨਾਰੀ ॥
ji-o bikh-ee hayrai par naaree.
Just as lustful man looks at others woman with evil eyes,
ਜਿਵੇਂ ਵਿਸ਼ਈ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਰਾਈ ਨਾਰ ਵਲ ਤੱਕਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਕਉਡਾ ਡਾਰਤ ਹਿਰੈ ਜੁਆਰੀ ॥੩॥
ka-udaa daarat hirai ju-aaree. ||3||
the gambler looks carefully at the numbers while throwing his dice; ||3||
ਜਿਵੇਂ (ਜੂਆ ਖੇਡਣ ਲੱਗਾ) ਜੁਆਰੀਆ ਕਉਡਾਂ ਸੁੱਟ ਕੇ ਗਹੁ ਨਾਲ ਤੱਕਦਾ ਹੈ (ਕਿ ਕੀਹ ਦਾਉ ਪਿਆ ਹੈ) ॥੩॥
ਜਹ ਜਹ ਦੇਖਉ ਤਹ ਤਹ ਰਾਮਾ ॥
jah jah daykh-a-u tah tah raamaa.
similarly wherever I look, I see God,
ਮੈਂ ਭੀ ਜਿੱਧਰ ਤੱਕਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਵੇਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ ।
ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਚਰਨ ਨਿਤ ਧਿਆਵੈ ਨਾਮਾ ॥੪॥੨॥
har kay charan nit Dhi-aavai naamaa. ||4||2||
and I, Namdev, always meditate on God’s immaculate Name. ||4||2||
ਮੈਂ ਨਾਮਦੇਵ (ਇਹਨਾਂ ਵਾਂਗ) ਸਦਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਮਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ॥੪॥੨॥

ਮੋ ਕਉ ਤਾਰਿ ਲੇ ਰਾਮਾ ਤਾਰਿ ਲੇ ॥
mo ka-o taar lay raamaa taar lay.
O’ my God, save me, please carry me across the worldly ocean of vices,
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਰਾਮ! ਮੈਨੂੰ (ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ) ਤਾਰ ਲੈ, ਬਚਾ ਲੈ।
ਮੈ ਅਜਾਨੁ ਜਨੁ ਤਰਿਬੇ ਨ ਜਾਨਉ ਬਾਪ ਬੀਠੁਲਾ ਬਾਹ ਦੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
mai ajaan jan taribay na jaan-o baap beethulaa baah day. ||1|| rahaa-o.
I am a spiritually ignorant person; O’ my fatherly God! please give me Your hand (Your support) because I do not know how to swim. ||1||Pause||
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਬਾਂਹ ਫੜਾ, ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰਾ ਅੰਞਾਣ ਸੇਵਕ ਹਾਂ, ਮੈਂ ਤਰਨਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਨਰ ਤੇ ਸੁਰ ਹੋਇ ਜਾਤ ਨਿਮਖ ਮੈ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਬੁਧਿ ਸਿਖਲਾਈ ॥
nar tay sur ho-ay jaat nimakh mai satgur buDh sikhlaa-ee.
O God! by following the teachings of the true Guru, an ordinary person becomes pious like an angel in an instant.
(ਹੇ ਬੀਠੁਲ ਪਿਤਾ! ਗੁਰੂ ਤੋਂ ਮਿਲੀ ਮੱਤ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤ ਨਾਲ ਅੱਖ ਦੇ ਫੋਰ ਵਿਚ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਦੇਵਤੇ ਬਣ ਜਾਈਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਨਰ ਤੇ ਉਪਜਿ ਸੁਰਗ ਕਉ ਜੀਤਿਓ ਸੋ ਅਵਖਧ ਮੈ ਪਾਈ ॥੧॥
nar tay upaj surag ka-o jeeti-o so avkhaDh mai paa-ee. ||1||
O’ God! I have received such a medicine (blessing) from the Guru, that I have won the heaven even though born as a human ||1||
ਹੇ ਪਿਤਾ! ਮੈਨੂੰ ਇਹੋ ਜਿਹੀ ਦਵਾਈ ਪਰਾਪਤ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਆਦਮੀ ਤੋਂ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋ ਕੇ, ਮੈਂ ਬਹਿਸ਼ਤ ਨੂੰ ਫਤਹ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਜਹਾ ਜਹਾ ਧੂਅ ਨਾਰਦੁ ਟੇਕੇ ਨੈਕੁ ਟਿਕਾਵਹੁ ਮੋਹਿ ॥
jahaa jahaa Dhoo-a naarad taykay naik tikaavahu mohi.
O’ God, please place me where You have placed the devotees like Dharuv and Narad.
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਰਾਮ! ਤੂੰ ਜਿਸ ਜਿਸ ਆਤਮਕ ਟਿਕਾਣੇ ਧ੍ਰੂ ਤੇ ਨਾਰਦ (ਵਰਗੇ ਭਗਤਾਂ) ਨੂੰ ਅਪੜਾਇਆ ਹੈ, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਸਦਾ ਲਈ ਅਪੜਾ ਦੇਹ,
ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਮ ਅਵਿਲੰਬਿ ਬਹੁਤੁ ਜਨ ਉਧਰੇ ਨਾਮੇ ਕੀ ਨਿਜ ਮਤਿ ਏਹ ॥੨॥੩॥
tayray naam avilamb bahut jan uDhray naamay kee nij mat ayh. ||2||3||
O’ God! Namdev’s understanding is that by leaning upon the support of Your Name, many devotees are saved from the vices. ||2||3||
ਮੇਰਾ ਨਾਮਦੇਵ ਦਾ ਇਹ ਪੱਕਾ ਨਿਸ਼ਚਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਆਸਰੇ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਜੀਵ (ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਦੇ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ) ਬਚ ਨਿਕਲਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੨॥੩॥
