ਤੇਰੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵਹਿ ਸਹਜਿ ਸਮਾਵਹਿ ਸਬਦੇ ਮੇਲਿ ਮਿਲਾਏ ॥
tayray gun gaavahi sahj samaaveh sabday mayl milaa-ay.
O’ God, those who sing Your praises remain in a state of spiritual poise; through his word, the Guru unites them with You.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਜੇਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਤੇਰੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਗੁਰੂ ਆਪਣੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ (ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ!) ਤੇਰੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਜੋੜ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਸਫਲ ਜਨਮੁ ਤਿਨ ਕੇਰਾ ਜਿ ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਮਾਰਗਿ ਪਾਏ ॥੨॥
naanak safal janam tin kayraa je satgur har maarag paa-ay. ||2||
O’ Nanak! fruitful is the life of those, whom the true Guru puts on the path to realize God. ||2||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਉਹਨਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਦਾ ਜਨਮ ਕਾਮਯਾਬ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਰਸਤੇ ਉਤੇ ਤੋਰ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਸੰਤਸੰਗਤਿ ਸਿਉ ਮੇਲੁ ਭਇਆ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਸਮਾਏ ਰਾਮ ॥
santsangat si-o mayl bha-i-aa har har naam samaa-ay raam.
Those who are blessed with holy congregation, remain absorbed in God’s Name.
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਸਦ ਜੀਵਨ ਮੁਕਤ ਭਏ ਹਰਿ ਕੈ ਨਾਮਿ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਏ ਰਾਮ ॥
gur kai sabad sad jeevan mukat bha-ay har kai naam liv laa-ay raam.
By attuning their minds to God’s Name through the Guru’s word, they remain free from worldly entanglements even while living amongst them.
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਸੁਰਤ ਜੋੜ ਕੇ ਉਹ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਤ-ਕਾਰ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਹੀ ਮਾਇਆ ਵਲੋਂ ਨਿਰਲੇਪ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਚਿਤੁ ਲਾਏ ਗੁਰਿ ਮੇਲਿ ਮਿਲਾਏ ਮਨੂਆ ਰਤਾ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਲੇ ॥
har naam chit laa-ay gur mayl milaa-ay manoo-aa rataa har naalay.
Those whom the Guru united with God, they attuned their minds to His Name and their minds got imbued with His love.
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਜੋੜ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਮਨ ਜੋੜ ਲਿਆ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ (ਪ੍ਰੇਮ-ਰੰਗ) ਨਾਲ ਰੰਗਿਆ ਗਿਆ।
ਸੁਖਦਾਤਾ ਪਾਇਆ ਮੋਹੁ ਚੁਕਾਇਆ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਮ੍ਹ੍ਹਾਲੇ ॥
sukh-daata paa-i-aa moh chukaa-i-aa an-din naam samHaalay.
By always enshrining God in their hearts, they got themselves freed from the love for worldly riches and realized God, the bestower of celestial peace.
ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਵਸਾ ਕੇ ਮਾਇਆ ਦਾ ਮੋਹ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ, ਤੇ, ਸੁਖ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂਨੂੰ ਪਾ ਲਿਆ।
ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦੇ ਰਾਤਾ ਸਹਜੇ ਮਾਤਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਮਨਿ ਵਸਾਏ ॥
gur sabday raataa sehjay maataa naam man vasaa-ay.
One who is imbued with the Guru’s word remains elated in a state of spiritual poise and keeps enshrined God’s Name in his heart.
ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਵਿਚ ਰੰਗਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਵਿਚ ਮਸਤ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਵਸਾਈ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਤਿਨ ਘਰਿ ਸਦ ਹੀ ਸੋਹਿਲਾ ਜਿ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸੇਵਿ ਸਮਾਏ ॥੩॥
naanak tin ghar sad hee sohilaa je satgur sayv samaa-ay. ||3||
O’ Nanak, the song of joy always plays in the hearts of those who remain absorbed in God’s love by following the Guru’s teachings. ||3||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜੇਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਦੱਸੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ੀ ਬਣੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਬਿਨੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਜਗੁ ਭਰਮਿ ਭੁਲਾਇਆ ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਮਹਲੁ ਨ ਪਾਇਆ ਰਾਮ ॥
bin satgur jag bharam bhulaa-i-aa har kaa mahal na paa-i-aa raam.
Without following the teachings of the true Guru, this world remains lost in doubt and it never attains God’s presence.
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਜਗਤ ਭਟਕਣਾ ਵਿਚ ਪੈ ਕੇ ਕੁਰਾਹੇ ਪਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਹਜ਼ੂਰੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ।
ਗੁਰਮੁਖੇ ਇਕਿ ਮੇਲਿ ਮਿਲਾਇਆ ਤਿਨ ਕੇ ਦੂਖ ਗਵਾਇਆ ਰਾਮ ॥
gurmukhay ik mayl milaa-i-aa tin kay dookh gavaa-i-aa raam.
But there are some, whom God united with Him through the Guru and eradicated all their sorrows.
ਪਰ ਕਈਐਸੇ ਹਨ, ਜੇਹੜੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਲ ਜੋੜ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਲ ਜੋੜ ਲਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਦੁੱਖ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੇ ।
ਤਿਨ ਕੇ ਦੂਖ ਗਵਾਇਆ ਜਾ ਹਰਿ ਮਨਿ ਭਾਇਆ ਸਦਾ ਗਾਵਹਿ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਾਤੇ ॥
tin kay dookh gavaa-i-aa jaa har man bhaa-i-aa sadaa gaavahi rang raatay.
When they are pleasing to God, their sorrows are dispelled, and then imbued with God’s love they always sing His praises.
ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਲੱਗਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਦੁੱਖ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ-ਰੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਰੰਗੀਜ ਕੇ ਸਦਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੇ ਗੀਤ ਗਾਂਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਭਗਤ ਸਦਾ ਜਨ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਜੁਗਿ ਜੁਗਿ ਸਦ ਹੀ ਜਾਤੇ ॥
har kay bhagat sadaa jan nirmal jug jug sad hee jaatay.
The devotees of God become immaculate forever, and they always become renowned through the ages.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਉਹ ਭਗਤ ਸਦਾ ਲਈ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਹਰੇਕ ਜੁਗ ਵਿਚ ਸਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਸਿੱਧ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਸਾਚੀ ਭਗਤਿ ਕਰਹਿ ਦਰਿ ਜਾਪਹਿ ਘਰਿ ਦਰਿ ਸਚਾ ਸੋਈ ॥
saachee bhagat karahi dar jaapeh ghar dar sachaa so-ee.
They perform devotional worship of God, are honored in His presence and He manifests in their hearts.
ਉਹ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਦਰ ਤੇ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਪਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਵੱਸ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਸਚਾ ਸੋਹਿਲਾ ਸਚੀ ਸਚੁ ਬਾਣੀ ਸਬਦੇ ਹੀ ਸੁਖੁ ਹੋਈ ॥੪॥੪॥੫॥
naanak sachaa sohilaa sachee sach banee sabday hee sukh ho-ee. ||4||4||5||
O’ Nanak, divine word of God’s praises remains enshrined in their hearts and through it, eternal joy and bliss prevails within them. ||4||4||5||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਵਾਲੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਵੱਸੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਅਟੱਲ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ੀ ਬਣੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਬਣਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੪॥੪॥੫॥

Raag Soohee, Third Guru:
ਜੇ ਲੋੜਹਿ ਵਰੁ ਬਾਲੜੀਏ ਤਾ ਗੁਰ ਚਰਣੀ ਚਿਤੁ ਲਾਏ ਰਾਮ ॥
jay lorheh var baalrhee-ay taa gur charnee chit laa-ay raam.
O’ innocent young soul-bride, if you want to unite with your Husband-God, thenkeep your mind attuned to the Guru’s word.
ਹੇ ਅੰਞਾਣ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀਏ! ਜੇ ਤੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਤੀ ਦਾ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈਂ, ਤਾਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਚਿੱਤ ਜੋੜ ਰੱਖ।
ਸਦਾ ਹੋਵਹਿ ਸੋਹਾਗਣੀ ਹਰਿ ਜੀਉ ਮਰੈ ਨ ਜਾਏ ਰਾਮ ॥
sadaa hoveh sohaaganee har jee-o marai na jaa-ay raam.
You would be a fortunate soul-bride forever since dear Husband-God does not die or go anywhere.
ਤੂੰ ਸਦਾ ਲਈ ਸੁਹਾਗ-ਭਾਗ ਵਾਲੀ ਬਣ ਜਾਏਂਗੀ, (ਕਿਉਂਕਿ) ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਤੀ ਨਾਹ ਕਦੇ ਮਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਨਾਹ ਨਾਸ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਹਰਿ ਜੀਉ ਮਰੈ ਨ ਜਾਏ ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਹਜਿ ਸੁਭਾਏ ਸਾ ਧਨ ਕੰਤ ਪਿਆਰੀ ॥
har jee-o marai na jaa-ay gur kai sahj subhaa-ay saa Dhan kant pi-aaree.
Yes, reverend God neither dies nor goes anywhere; the soul-bride who remains serenely in love with Husband-God through the Guru, becomes dear to Him.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਤੀ ਕਦੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਰਦਾ, ਕਦੇ ਨਾਸ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ। ਜੇਹੜੀ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਖਸਮ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰੀ ਲੱਗਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਸਚਿ ਸੰਜਮਿ ਸਦਾ ਹੈ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਸੀਗਾਰੀ ॥
sach sanjam sadaa hai nirmal gur kai sabad seegaaree.
Through righteous living and self-control towards vices, she always remains immaculate; she embellishes her life through the Guru’s teachings.
ਸੱਚ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਵਲੋਂ ਬੰਦਸ਼ ਵਿਚ ਰਹਿ ਕੇ, ਉਹ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਾਲੀ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਨੂੰ ਸੋਹਣਾ ਬਣਾ ਲੈਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਮੇਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸਾਚਾ ਸਦ ਹੀ ਸਾਚਾ ਜਿਨਿ ਆਪੇ ਆਪੁ ਉਪਾਇਆ ॥
mayraa parabh saachaa sad hee saachaa jin aapay aap upaa-i-aa.
My God is eternal; God who is self-revealed and is here forever and ever.
ਮੇਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਪਰਗਟ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ l
ਨਾਨਕ ਸਦਾ ਪਿਰੁ ਰਾਵੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਜਿਨਿ ਗੁਰ ਚਰਣੀ ਚਿਤੁ ਲਾਇਆ ॥੧॥
naanak sadaa pir raavay aapnaa jin gur charnee chit laa-i-aa. ||1||
O’ Nanak, the soul-bride, who has attuned her mind to the Guru’s teachings, always rejoices her Husband-God. ||1||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜਿਸ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਨੇ ਗੁਰੂ-ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਆਪਣਾ ਮਨ ਜੋੜ ਲਿਆ, ਉਹ ਸਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਤੀ ਦਾ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਮਾਣਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਪਿਰੁ ਪਾਇਅੜਾ ਬਾਲੜੀਏ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਸਹਜੇ ਮਾਤੀ ਰਾਮ ॥
pir paa-i-arhaa baalrhee-ay an-din sehjay maatee raam.
O’ the innocent soul-bride, the soul-bride who is united with Husband-God always remains elated in a state of spiritual poise.
ਹੇ ਅੰਞਾਣ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀਏ! ਜੇਹੜੀ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਤੀ ਦਾ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਵਿਚ ਮਸਤ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਗੁਰਮਤੀ ਮਨਿ ਅਨਦੁ ਭਇਆ ਤਿਤੁ ਤਨਿ ਮੈਲੁ ਨ ਰਾਤੀ ਰਾਮ ॥
gurmatee man anad bha-i-aa tit tan mail na raatee raam.
Bliss prevails in her mind through the Guru’s teachings and not even the slightest dirt of vices remains in her mind.
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਮਤਿ ਦਾ ਸਦਕਾ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਆਨੰਦ ਬਣਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ,ਉਸ ਸਰੀਰ ਵਿਚ ਰਤਾ ਭਰ ਭੀ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੀਮੈਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦੀ।
ਤਿਤੁ ਤਨਿ ਮੈਲੁ ਨ ਰਾਤੀ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਰਾਤੀ ਮੇਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਮੇਲਿ ਮਿਲਾਏ ॥
tit tan mail na raatee har parabh raatee mayraa parabh mayl milaa-ay.
Yes, not even the slightest dirt of vices remain in her mind; she remains imbued with love of God and my dear God unites her with Him.
ਉਸ ਦੇ ਉਸ ਸਰੀਰ ਵਿਚ ਰਤਾ ਭਰ ਭੀ ਮੈਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦੀ, ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ-ਰੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਰੰਗੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਰਾਵੇ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਅਪਣਾ ਵਿਚਹੁ ਆਪੁ ਗਵਾਏ ॥
an-din raavay har parabh apnaa vichahu aap gavaa-ay.
By eradicating self-conceit from within, she always lovingly remembers God.
ਉਹਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਆਪਾ-ਭਾਵ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਰਿ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਮਰਦੀਹੈ।
ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਪਾਇਆ ਸਹਜਿ ਮਿਲਾਇਆ ਅਪਣੇ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਰਾਤੀ ॥
gurmat paa-i-aa sahj milaa-i-aa apnay pareetam raatee.
She realizes God through the Guru’s teachings; God intuitively unites her with Himself and she remains imbued with the love of her beloved-God.
ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਤੇ ਭੇਟ ਕੇ ਉਹ ਸੁਖੈਨ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਅੰਦਰ ਰੰਗੀ ਗਈ ਹੈ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਮਿਲੈ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਰਾਵੇ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਾਤੀ ॥੨॥
naanak naam milai vadi-aa-ee parabh raavay rang raatee. ||2||
O’ Nanak, she is blessed with Naam and glory; imbued with God’s love, she always remembers Him with adoration. ||2||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਨਾਮ ਮਿਲ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਮਿਲ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ-ਰੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਰੰਗੀ ਹੋਈ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਪਿਰੁ ਰਾਵੇ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਾਤੜੀਏ ਪਿਰ ਕਾ ਮਹਲੁ ਤਿਨ ਪਾਇਆ ਰਾਮ ॥
pir raavay rang raat-rhee-ay pir kaa mahal tin paa-i-aa raam.
O’ soul-bride imbued in the love of Husband-God, the soul-bride who lovingly remembers God remains in her Husband-God’s presence.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ-ਰੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਰੰਗੀ ਹੋਈ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀਏ! ਜੇਹੜੀ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਸਿਮਰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਕੰਤ ਦੀ ਹਜ਼ੂਰੀ ਪਾ ਲੈਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਸੋ ਸਹੋ ਅਤਿ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਦਾਤਾ ਜਿਨਿ ਵਿਚਹੁ ਆਪੁ ਗਵਾਇਆ ਰਾਮ ॥
so saho at nirmal daataa jin vichahu aap gavaa-i-aa raam.
That extremely immaculate Husband-God, the bestower of bounties is realized only by the one who eradicates her ego from within.
ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਆਪਾ-ਭਾਵ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਹਜ਼ੂਰੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਲਈ ਹੈ ਜੇਹੜਾ ਬਹੁਤ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਹੈ, ਤੇ, ਸਭ ਦਾਤਾਂ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ।
ਵਿਚਹੁ ਮੋਹੁ ਚੁਕਾਇਆ ਜਾ ਹਰਿ ਭਾਇਆ ਹਰਿ ਕਾਮਣਿ ਮਨਿ ਭਾਣੀ ॥
vichahu moh chukaa-i-aa jaa har bhaa-i-aa har kaaman man bhaanee.
Only when it so pleases God, then the soul-bride eradicates her love for worldly attachments from within and becomes pleasing to Him.
ਜਦੋਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਰਜ਼ਾ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਤਦੋਂ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਮੋਹ ਦੂਰ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਤੇ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਪਿਆਰੀ ਲੱਗਣ ਲੱਗ ਪੈਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵੈ ਨਿਤ ਸਾਚੇ ਕਥੇ ਅਕਥ ਕਹਾਣੀ ॥
an-din gun gaavai nit saachay kathay akath kahaanee.
She always sings the praises of God, and describes His indescribable virtues.
ਉਹ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਂਦੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਸਰੂਪ ਬਿਆਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ।
ਜੁਗ ਚਾਰੇ ਸਾਚਾ ਏਕੋ ਵਰਤੈ ਬਿਨੁ ਗੁਰ ਕਿਨੈ ਨ ਪਾਇਆ ॥
jug chaaray saachaa ayko vartai bin gur kinai na paa-i-aa.
One eternal God pervades throughout the ages, and no one has ever realized Him without following the Guru’s teachings.
ਚੌਹਾਂ ਜੁਗਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਉਹ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਆਪਣਾ ਹੁਕਮ ਵਰਤਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੇ ਭੀ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ।
