ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪੈ ਉਧਰੈ ਸੋ ਕਲਿ ਮਹਿ ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਮਾਝਾ ॥੪॥੩॥੫੦॥
gurmukh naam japai uDhrai so kal meh ghat ghat naanak maajhaa. ||4||3||50||
that in this world, one who meditates on Naam through the Guru’s teachings is saved from vices; O Nanak, he sees God in each and every being. ||4||3||50||
ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਦੱਸੇ ਰਸਤੇ ਉਤੇ ਤੁਰ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਚ ਨਿਕਲਦਾ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਹਰੇਕ ਸਰੀਰ ਵਿਚ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਦਿੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੪॥੩॥੫੦॥

Raag Soohee, Fifth Guru:
ਜੋ ਕਿਛੁ ਕਰੈ ਸੋਈ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮਾਨਹਿ ਓਇ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਾਤੇ ॥
jo kichh karai so-ee parabh maaneh o-ay raam naam rang raatay.
Those who are imbued with the love of God’s Name, accept whatever He does.
ਉਹ, ਜੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਪਿਆਰ ਨਾਲ ਰੰਗੀਜੇ ਹਨ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਵੀਕਾਰ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਜਿਹੜਾ ਕੁਝ ਭੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ l
ਤਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹ ਕੀ ਸੋਭਾ ਸਭਨੀ ਥਾਈ ਜਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੇ ਚਰਣ ਪਰਾਤੇ ॥੧॥
tinH kee sobhaa sabhnee thaa-ee jinH parabh kay charan paraatay. ||1||
Those who remain attuned to God’s Name, are honored everywhere. ||1||
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਂਝ ਪਾ ਲਈ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਸਭ ਥਾਵਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ) ॥੧॥
ਮੇਰੇ ਰਾਮ ਹਰਿ ਸੰਤਾ ਜੇਵਡੁ ਨ ਕੋਈ ॥
mayray raam har santaa jayvad na ko-ee.
O’ my God, nobody is equal to Your saints.
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੇਰੇ ਸੰਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਬਰਾਬਰ ਦਾ ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ।
ਭਗਤਾ ਬਣਿ ਆਈ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਅਪਨੇ ਸਿਉ ਜਲਿ ਥਲਿ ਮਹੀਅਲਿ ਸੋਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
bhagtaa ban aa-ee parabh apnay si-o jal thal mahee-al so-ee. ||1|| rahaa-o.
The devotees are in love with their God; they experience Him pervading the water, the land and the sky. ||1||Pause||
ਭਗਤਾ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂਨਾਲ ਡੂੰਘੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਬਣੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਪਾਣੀ ਵਿਚ, ਧਰਤੀ ਵਿਚ, ਆਕਾਸ਼ ਵਿਚ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਦਿੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਕੋਟਿ ਅਪ੍ਰਾਧੀ ਸੰਤਸੰਗਿ ਉਧਰੈ ਜਮੁ ਤਾ ਕੈ ਨੇੜਿ ਨ ਆਵੈ ॥
kot apraaDhee satsang uDhrai jam taa kai nayrh na aavai.
Even the one who has commited millions of sins, is saved from vices in the holy congregation and the demon of death does not even come near him.
ਕ੍ਰੋੜਾਂ ਅਪਰਾਧ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਭੀ ਸੰਤ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ (ਟਿਕ ਕੇ) ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਚ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ,ਜਮ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਂਦਾ।
ਜਨਮ ਜਨਮ ਕਾ ਬਿਛੁੜਿਆ ਹੋਵੈ ਤਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹ ਹਰਿ ਸਿਉ ਆਣਿ ਮਿਲਾਵੈ ॥੨॥
janam janam kaa bichhurhi-aa hovai tinH har si-o aan milaavai. ||2||
One might have been separated from God for many births, the Guru unites many of them with God. ||2||
ਜੇ ਕੋਈ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਜਨਮਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਵਿਛੁੜਿਆ ਹੋਵੇ-ਸੰਤ ਅਜੇਹੇ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਲਿਆ ਕੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਮਾਇਆ ਮੋਹ ਭਰਮੁ ਭਉ ਕਾਟੈ ਸੰਤ ਸਰਣਿ ਜੋ ਆਵੈ ॥
maa-i-aa moh bharam bha-o kaatai sant saran jo aavai.
One who comes to the refuge of the saints, that person’s love for Maya (worldly riches and power), doubt, and fear is eradicated.
ਜੇਹੜਾਮਨੁੱਖ ਸੰਤਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਆ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਸੰਤ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਮਾਇਆ ਦਾ ਮੋਹ, ਭਟਕਣਾ, ਡਰ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਜੇਹਾ ਮਨੋਰਥੁ ਕਰਿ ਆਰਾਧੇ ਸੋ ਸੰਤਨ ਤੇ ਪਾਵੈ ॥੩॥
jayhaa manorath kar aaraaDhay so santan tay paavai. ||3||
With whatever objective one meditates on God, one gets that wish fulfilled from the saints.
ਮਨੁੱਖ ਜਿਹੋ ਜਿਹੀ ਵਾਸਨਾ ਧਾਰ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਉਹੀ ਫ਼ਲ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਜਨ ਕੀ ਮਹਿਮਾ ਕੇਤਕ ਬਰਨਉ ਜੋ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਅਪਨੇ ਭਾਣੇ ॥
jan kee mahimaa kaytak barna-o jo parabh apnay bhaanay.
To what extent may I describe the glory of those devotees who are pleasing to their God.
ਮੈਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਸੇਵਕਾ ਦੀ ਕਿਤਨੀ ਕੁ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਬਿਆਨ ਕਰਾਂ ਜੇਹੜੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰੇਲੱਗਦੇਹਨ l
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਜਿਨ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਭੇਟਿਆ ਸੇ ਸਭ ਤੇ ਭਏ ਨਿਕਾਣੇ ॥੪॥੪॥੫੧॥
kaho naanak jin satgur bhayti-aa say sabh tay bha-ay nikaanay. ||4||4||51||
O’ Nanak! says, those who have met the true Guru (and have followed his teachings) have become independent of all. ||4||4||51||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਆਖ- ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲ ਪਿਆ, ਉਹ ਸਾਰੀ ਲੁਕਾਈ ਤੋਂ ਬੇ-ਮੁਥਾਜ ਹੋ ਗਏ ॥੪॥੪॥੫੧॥

Raag Soohee, Fifth Guru:
ਮਹਾ ਅਗਨਿ ਤੇ ਤੁਧੁ ਹਾਥ ਦੇ ਰਾਖੇ ਪਏ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਣਾਈ ॥
mahaa agan tay tuDh haath day raakhay pa-ay tayree sarnaa-ee.
O’ God, those who came to Your refuge, extending Your support, You saved them from terrible fire of worldly desires.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਜੇਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਨ ਆ ਪਏ, ਤੂੰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਹੱਥ ਦੇ ਕੇ (ਤ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨਾ ਦੀ) ਵੱਡੀ ਅੱਗ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਾ ਲਿਆ।
ਤੇਰਾ ਮਾਣੁ ਤਾਣੁ ਰਿਦ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਹੋਰ ਦੂਜੀ ਆਸ ਚੁਕਾਈ ॥੧॥
tayraa maan taan rid antar hor doojee aas chukaa-ee. ||1||
Only Your support and power is in their heart, and they have discarded the support of any other. ||1||
ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਤੇਰਾ ਹੀ ਮਾਣ ਤੇ ਸਹਾਰਾ ਬਣਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਹੋਰ ਦੀ ਮਦਦ ਦੀ ਆਸ ਆਪਣੇ ਦਿਲੋਂ ਮੁਕਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ,॥੧॥
ਮੇਰੇ ਰਾਮ ਰਾਇ ਤੁਧੁ ਚਿਤਿ ਆਇਐ ਉਬਰੇ ॥
mayray raam raa-ay tuDh chit aa-i-ai ubray.
O’ my God, the sovereign king, when You become manifest in people’s mind, they escape drowning in the world ocean of vices.
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਾਤਿਸ਼ਾਹ! ਜਦ ਤੂੰ (ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ) ਚਿੱਤ ਵਿਚ ਆ ਵੱਸੇਂ, ਤਾਂ ਉਹ (ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਵਿਚ) ਡੁੱਬਣੋਂ ਬਚ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਤੇਰੀ ਟੇਕ ਭਰਵਾਸਾ ਤੁਮ੍ਹ੍ਹਰਾ ਜਪਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਤੁਮ੍ਹ੍ਹਾਰਾ ਉਧਰੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
tayree tayk bharvaasaa tumHraa jap naam tumHaaraa uDhray. ||1|| rahaa-o.
They are saved from the vices by meditating on Your Name; they always have the faith in Your support and help. ||1||Pause||
ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪ ਕੇ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਖ਼ਲਾਸੀ ਪਾ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ (ਹਰ ਗੱਲੇ) ਤੇਰਾ ਹੀ ਆਸਰਾ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਦਾ ਭਰੋਸਾ ਬਣਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਅੰਧ ਕੂਪ ਤੇ ਕਾਢਿ ਲੀਏ ਤੁਮ੍ਹ੍ਹ ਆਪਿ ਭਏ ਕਿਰਪਾਲਾ ॥
anDh koop tay kaadh lee-ay tumH aap bha-ay kirpaalaa.
O’ God, on whom You became kind, You pulled them out from the deep dark pit of the love for Maya, the worldly riches and power.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਦਇਆਵਾਨ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ, ਤੂੰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਦੇ) ਹਨੇਰੇ ਖੂਹ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਕੱਢ ਲਿਆ।
ਸਾਰਿ ਸਮ੍ਹ੍ਹਾਲਿ ਸਰਬ ਸੁਖ ਦੀਏ ਆਪਿ ਕਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਲਾ ॥੨॥
saar samHaal sarab sukh dee-ay aap karay partipaalaa. ||2||
By taking care of them, You blessed them with all comforts and peace; O’ God, You Yourself cherish them all. ||2||
ਤੂੰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਾਰ ਲੈ ਕੇ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੰਭਾਲ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਰੇ ਸੁਖ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ੇ;ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਤੂੰ ਖੁਦ ਹੀ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਪਾਲਣਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਆਪਣੀ ਨਦਰਿ ਕਰੇ ਪਰਮੇਸਰੁ ਬੰਧਨ ਕਾਟਿ ਛਡਾਏ ॥
aapnee nadar karay parmaysar banDhan kaat chhadaa-ay.
Those on whom He casts His glance of grace, cutting off their worldly bonds, He Himself liberates them from the vices.
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆਪਣੀ ਮੇਹਰ ਦੀ ਨਿਗਾਹ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ (ਮੋਹ ਦੇ) ਬੰਧਨ ਕੱਟ ਕੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਛਡਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਆਪਣੀ ਭਗਤਿ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਆਪਿ ਕਰਾਈ ਆਪੇ ਸੇਵਾ ਲਾਏ ॥੩॥
aapnee bhagat parabh aap karaa-ee aapay sayvaa laa-ay. ||3||
God Himself got His devotional worship done from them; Yes, He on His own engages them to devotional worship. ||3||
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਆਪਣੀ ਸੇਵਾ-ਭਗਤੀ ਕਰਾਵਾਈ , ਉਹ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਆਪਣੀ ਸੇਵਾ-ਭਗਤੀ ਵਿਚ ਜੋੜ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਭਰਮੁ ਗਇਆ ਭੈ ਮੋਹ ਬਿਨਾਸੇ ਮਿਟਿਆ ਸਗਲ ਵਿਸੂਰਾ ॥
bharam ga-i-aa bhai moh binaasay miti-aa sagal visooraa.
Their doubt went away, their fears and worldly attachments vanished and all their worry and anxiety was removed.
(ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ) ਭਟਕਣਾ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਗਈ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਮੋਹ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਸਾਰੇ ਡਰ ਨਾਸ ਹੋ ਗਏ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਾਰਾ ਚਿੰਤਾ-ਝੋਰਾ ਮੁੱਕ ਗਿਆ,
ਨਾਨਕ ਦਇਆ ਕਰੀ ਸੁਖਦਾਤੈ ਭੇਟਿਆ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰਾ ॥੪॥੫॥੫੨॥
naanak da-i-aa karee sukh-daatai bhayti-aa satgur pooraa. ||4||5||52||
O’ Nanak! they, on whom the bliss giving God bestowed mercy, met the perfect true Guru. ||4||5||52||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਸੁਖ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਦਇਆ ਕੀਤੀ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪੂਰਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲ ਪਿਆ ॥੪॥੫॥੫੨॥

Raag Soohee, Fifth Guru:
ਜਬ ਕਛੁ ਨ ਸੀਓ ਤਬ ਕਿਆ ਕਰਤਾ ਕਵਨ ਕਰਮ ਕਰਿ ਆਇਆ ॥
jab kachh na see-o tab ki-aa kartaa kavan karam kar aa-i-aa.
When nothing existed, what deeds were being done then? And by what deeds human being has come into existance?
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਦੋਂ ਅਜੇ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ , ਤਦੋਂ ਕੇਹਡੇ ਕਰਮ ਹੁੰਦੈ ਸਣ? ਤੇ, ਕੇਹੜੇ ਕਰਮ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਇਹ ਜੀਵ ਹੋਂਦ ਵਿਚ ਆਇਆ ਹੈ?
ਅਪਨਾ ਖੇਲੁ ਆਪਿ ਕਰਿ ਦੇਖੈ ਠਾਕੁਰਿ ਰਚਨੁ ਰਚਾਇਆ ॥੧॥
apnaa khayl aap kar daykhai thaakur rachan rachaa-i-aa. ||1||
(The reality is that) God Himself has created this creation and after setting up this play, He Himself is watching it. ||1||
(ਅਸਲ ਗੱਲ ਇਹ ਕਿ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਜਗਤ-ਰਚਨਾ ਰਚੀ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਆਪਣਾ ਇਹ ਜਗਤ-ਤਮਾਸ਼ਾ ਰਚ ਕੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਇਸ ਤਮਾਸ਼ੇ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਮੇਰੇ ਰਾਮ ਰਾਇ ਮੁਝ ਤੇ ਕਛੂ ਨ ਹੋਈ ॥
mayray raam raa-ay mujh tay kachhoo na ho-ee.
O my God, the sovereign king, I cannot do anything at all by myself.
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਾਤਿਸ਼ਾਹ! ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪਮੇਰੇ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਕੁਝ ਭੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ ਸਕਦਾ।
ਆਪੇ ਕਰਤਾ ਆਪਿ ਕਰਾਏ ਸਰਬ ਨਿਰੰਤਰਿ ਸੋਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
aapay kartaa aap karaa-ay sarab nirantar so-ee. ||1|| rahaa-o.
O’ brother! God Himself does all and gets evey thing done; God Himself is pervading within all. ||1||Pause||
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਉਹ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਹੀ ਸਾਰੇ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਇਕ-ਰਸ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਜੀਵਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਬੈਠ ਕੇ) ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਜੀਵਾਂ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ) ਕਰਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਗਣਤੀ ਗਣੀ ਨ ਛੂਟੈ ਕਤਹੂ ਕਾਚੀ ਦੇਹ ਇਆਣੀ ॥
gantee ganee na chhootai kathoo kaachee dayh i-aanee.
This human being with perishable body and immature intellect can never be emancipated if his deeds were accounted for.
ਇਹ ਅੰਞਾਣ ਅਕਲਤੇ ਨਾਸਵੰਤ ਸਰੀਰ ਵਾਲਾ ਜੀਵ ਕਿਸੇ ਭੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਬਚ ਸਕਦਾ ਜੇ ਇਸ ਦੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਦਾ ਲੇਖਾ ਗਿਣਿਆ ਗਿਆ।
ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰਹੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਰਣੈਹਾਰੇ ਤੇਰੀ ਬਖਸ ਨਿਰਾਲੀ ॥੨॥
kirpaa karahu parabh karnaihaaray tayree bakhas niraalee. ||2||
O’ the Creator God! bestow mercy (and save us); Your grace is unique.
ਹੇ ਸਿਰਜਨਹਾਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰ (ਤੇ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼)। ਤੇਰੀ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਸ਼ ਵੱਖਰੀ ਹੀ ਕਿਸਮ ਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਜੀਅ ਜੰਤ ਸਭ ਤੇਰੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਤੁਹੀ ਧਿਆਈਐ ॥
jee-a jant sabh tayray keetay ghat ghat tuhee Dhi-aa-ee-ai.
O’ God!You created all beings and creatures and each and everyone is lovingly meditates on You.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! (ਜਗਤ ਦੇ) ਸਾਰੇ ਜੀਵ ਤੇਰੇ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ, ਹਰੇਕ ਸਰੀਰ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਆਰਾਧ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
ਤੇਰੀ ਗਤਿ ਮਿਤਿ ਤੂਹੈ ਜਾਣਹਿ ਕੁਦਰਤਿ ਕੀਮ ਨ ਪਾਈਐ ॥੩॥
tayree gat mit toohai jaaneh kudrat keem na paa-ee-ai. ||3||
Your state and limit only You know, we cannot evaluate Your creation.
ਤੂੰ ਕਿਹੋ ਜਿਹਾ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਕੇਡਾ ਵੱਡਾ ਹੈਂ-ਇਹ ਭੇਤ ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈਂ। ਤੇਰੀ ਕੁਦਰਤਿ ਦਾ ਮੁੱਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੈ ਸਕਦਾ ॥੩॥
ਨਿਰਗੁਣੁ ਮੁਗਧੁ ਅਜਾਣੁ ਅਗਿਆਨੀ ਕਰਮ ਧਰਮ ਨਹੀ ਜਾਣਾ ॥
nirgun mugaDh ajaan agi-aanee karam Dharam nahee jaanaa.
I am unvirtuous, foolish, illiterate and spiritually ignorant person, I do not know any righteous deeds.
ਮੈਂ ਗੁਣ-ਹੀਨ ਹਾਂ, ਮੈਂ ਮੂਰਖ ਹਾਂ, ਮੈਂ ਬੇ-ਸਮਝ ਹਾਂ, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੀ ਸੂਝ ਨਹੀਂ, ਮੈਂ ਕੋਈ ਧਾਰਮਿਕ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਨੇ ਭੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦਾ (ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ ਕਰ ਸਕਾਂ)।
ਦਇਆ ਕਰਹੁ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵੈ ਮਿਠਾ ਲਗੈ ਤੇਰਾ ਭਾਣਾ ॥੪॥੬॥੫੩॥
da-i-aa karahu naanak gun gaavai mithaa lagai tayraa bhaanaa. ||4||6||53||
O’ God! bestow mercy on Nanak, that he may sing Your Praises; and Your will may seem sweet to him. ||4||6||53||
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਨਾਨਕ ਉਤੇ ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰ,, ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਤੇਰਾ ਜੱਸ ਗਾਇਨ ਕਰੇ ਅਤੇ ਤੇਰੀ ਰਜ਼ਾ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਿੱਠੜੀ ਲੱਗੇ।॥੪॥੬॥੫੩॥
