Raag Soohee, Fifth Guru:
ਦਰਸਨੁ ਦੇਖਿ ਜੀਵਾ ਗੁਰ ਤੇਰਾ ॥
darsan daykh jeevaa gur tayraa.
O’ my Divine-Guru, God, I remain spiritually alive by beholding your blessed vision.
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਗੁਰਦੇਵ! ਤੇਰਾ ਦਰਸਨ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਮਿਲ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਪੂਰਨ ਕਰਮੁ ਹੋਇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮੇਰਾ ॥੧॥
pooran karam ho-ay parabh mayraa. ||1||
O’ my God, may I have your complete blessing! (so that I may meet the Guru). ||1||
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੇਰੀ ਪੂਰਨ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਸ਼ ਹੋਏ (ਤੇ, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲ ਜਾਵੇ) ॥੧॥
ਇਹ ਬੇਨੰਤੀ ਸੁਣਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮੇਰੇ ॥
ih baynantee sun parabh mayray.
O’ my almighty-God, listen to this submission of mine:
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ (ਮੇਰੀ) ਇਹ ਅਰਜ਼ੋਈ ਸੁਣ,
ਦੇਹਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਕਰਿ ਅਪਣੇ ਚੇਰੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
deh naam kar apnay chayray. ||1|| rahaa-o.
Make me Your disciple and bless me with Your Name. ||1||Pause||
ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਸੇਵਕ ਬਣਾ ਕੇ (ਆਪਣਾ) ਨਾਮ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਅਪਣੀ ਸਰਣਿ ਰਾਖੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਦਾਤੇ ॥
apnee saran raakh parabh daatay.
O’ beneficent God, keep me in Your refuge.
ਹੇ ਸਭ ਦਾਤਾਂ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਸਰਨ ਵਿਚ ਰੱਖ।
ਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਕਿਨੈ ਵਿਰਲੈ ਜਾਤੇ ॥੨॥
gur parsaad kinai virlai jaatay. ||2||
O’ God! a rare person with the Guru’s grace has realized You. ||2||
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਕਿਸੇ ਵਿਰਲੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਡੂੰਘੀ ਸਾਂਝ ਪਾਈ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਸੁਨਹੁ ਬਿਨਉ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮੇਰੇ ਮੀਤਾ ॥
sunhu bin-o parabh mayray meetaa.
O’ God, my friend, please listen to my prayer,
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਿੱਤਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੇਰੀ ਅਰਜ਼ੋਈ ਸੁਣ,
ਚਰਣ ਕਮਲ ਵਸਹਿ ਮੇਰੈ ਚੀਤਾ ॥੩॥
charan kamal vaseh mayrai cheetaa. ||3||
(bestow mercy) so that Your lotus feet (immaculate Name) may manifest in my mind. ||3||
(ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰ! ਤੇਰੇ) ਸੋਹਣੇ ਚਰਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਵਿਚ ਵੱਸ ਪੈਣ ॥੩॥
ਨਾਨਕੁ ਏਕ ਕਰੈ ਅਰਦਾਸਿ ॥
naanak ayk karai ardaas.
Nanak makes this one supplication:
ਨਾਨਕ (ਤੇਰੇ ਦਰ ਤੇ) ਇਕ ਅਰਜ਼ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਵਿਸਰੁ ਨਾਹੀ ਪੂਰਨ ਗੁਣਤਾਸਿ ॥੪॥੧੮॥੨੪॥
visar naahee pooran guntaas. ||4||18||24||
O’ perfect God, the treasure of virtues, bestow mercy that I, Nanak, may never forget you. ||4||18||24||
ਹੇ ਪੂਰਨ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਸਭ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦੇ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! (ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰ), ਕਿ ਤੂੰ ਮੈਨੂੰ (ਨਾਨਕ ਨੂੰ) ਕਦੇ ਨਾਹ ਭੁੱਲੇਂ ॥੪॥੧੮॥੨੪॥

Raag Soohee, Fifth Guru:
ਮੀਤੁ ਸਾਜਨੁ ਸੁਤ ਬੰਧਪ ਭਾਈ ॥
meet saajan sut banDhap bhaa-ee.
O’ brother! for me, God is my friend, companion, child, relative and my sibling.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਹੀ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਿੱਤਰ ਹੈ, ਸੱਜਣ ਹੈ, ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਹੀ (ਮੇਰੇ ਵਾਸਤੇ) ਪੁੱਤਰ ਰਿਸ਼ਤੇਦਾਰ ਭਰਾ ਹੈ।
ਜਤ ਕਤ ਪੇਖਉ ਹਰਿ ਸੰਗਿ ਸਹਾਈ ॥੧॥
jat kat paykha-o har sang sahaa-ee. ||1||
Wherever I look, I see Him as my companion and helper. ||1||
ਮੈਂ ਜਿਧਰ ਕਿਧਰ ਵੇਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਮਦਦਗਾਰ ਹੈ ॥੧
ਜਤਿ ਮੇਰੀ ਪਤਿ ਮੇਰੀ ਧਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ॥
jat mayree pat mayree Dhan har naam.
God’s Name is my high social status, my honor, and my wealth:
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਮੇਰੀ (ਉੱਚੀ) ਜਾਤਿ ਹੈ, ਮੇਰੀ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਹੈ, ਮੇਰਾ ਧਨ ਹੈ,
ਸੂਖ ਸਹਜ ਆਨੰਦ ਬਿਸਰਾਮ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
sookh sahj aanand bisraam. ||1|| rahaa-o.
Because of which, I dwell in peace, poise and bliss. ||1||Pause||
(ਇਸ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਮੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰ) ਆਨੰਦ ਹੈ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਹੈ, ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਦੇ ਸੁਖ ਹਨ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਜਪਿ ਪਹਿਰਿ ਸਨਾਹ ॥
paarbarahm jap pahir sanaah.
O’ brother! always lovingly meditate on the supreme God and wear this body armor of God’s Name.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਸਦਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ (ਦਾ ਨਾਮ) ਜਪਿਆ ਕਰ, (ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਦੀ) ਸੰਜੋਅ ਪਹਿਨੀ ਰੱਖ।
ਕੋਟਿ ਆਵਧ ਤਿਸੁ ਬੇਧਤ ਨਾਹਿ ॥੨॥
kot aavaDh tis bayDhat naahi. ||2||
This armor of God’s Name cannot be pierced or destroyed even by millions of weapons like-evil impulses. ||2||
ਇਸ (ਸੰਜੋਅ) ਨੂੰ (ਕਾਮਾਦਿਕ) ਕ੍ਰੋੜਾਂ ਹਥਿਆਰ ਵਿੰਨ੍ਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦੇ ॥੨॥
ਹਰਿ ਚਰਨ ਸਰਣ ਗੜ ਕੋਟ ਹਮਾਰੈ ॥
har charan saran garh kot hamaarai.
O’ my brother! for me, God’s immaculate Name is like the refuge of many forts,
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਮੇਰੇ ਵਾਸਤੇ (ਤਾਂ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਕਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਹੈ,
ਕਾਲੁ ਕੰਟਕੁ ਜਮੁ ਤਿਸੁ ਨ ਬਿਦਾਰੈ ॥੩॥
kaal kantak jam tis na bidaarai. ||3||
even the fear of painful death cannot demolish this fort of God’s Name. ||3||
ਇਸ (ਕਿਲ੍ਹੇ) ਨੂੰ ਦੁਖਦਾਈ ਮੌਤ (ਦਾ ਡਰ) ਨਾਸ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ ॥੩॥
ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾਸ ਸਦਾ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ॥ ਸੇਵਕ ਸੰਤ ਰਾਜਾ ਰਾਮ ਮੁਰਾਰੀ ॥੪॥੧੯॥੨੫॥
naanak daas sadaa balihaaree. sayvak sant raajaa raam muraaree. ||4||19||25||
O’ Nanak! say, O’ God, the sovereign king, I am forever dedicated to your devotees. ||4||19||25||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਆਖ,ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਾਤਿਸ਼ਾਹ! ਹੇ ਮੁਰਾਰੀ! ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਸੇਵਕਾਂ ਸੰਤਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਸਦਾ ਸਦਕੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ ॥੪॥੧੯॥੨੫॥

Raag Soohee, Fifth Guru:
ਗੁਣ ਗੋਪਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੇ ਨਿਤ ਗਾਹਾ ॥
gun gopaal parabh kay nit gaahaa.
Those who always lovingly sing the praises of God,
ਜੇਹੜੇ ਜੀਵ ਗੋਪਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਸਦਾ ਗਾਂਦੇਹਨ,
ਅਨਦ ਬਿਨੋਦ ਮੰਗਲ ਸੁਖ ਤਾਹਾ ॥੧॥
anad binod mangal sukh taahaa. ||1||
they always have bliss, joy, happiness and pleasure. ||1||
ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਖ ਆਨੰਦ ਚਾਉ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ੀਆਂ ਬਣੀਆਂ ਰਹਿੰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ ॥੧॥
ਚਲੁ ਸਖੀਏ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਰਾਵਣ ਜਾਹਾ ॥
chal sakhee-ay parabh raavan jaahaa.
O’ my friend, let us go and enjoy the bliss of union with God
ਹੇ ਸਹੇਲੀਏ! ਉੱਠ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਨ ਚੱਲੀਏ,
ਸਾਧ ਜਨਾ ਕੀ ਚਰਣੀ ਪਾਹਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
saaDh janaa kee charnee paahaa. ||1|| rahaa-o.
by falling at the feet of the saints and following their teachings. ||1||Pause||
ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਜਾ ਪਈਏ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਕਰਿ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਜਨ ਧੂਰਿ ਬਾਛਾਹਾ ॥
kar bayntee jan Dhoor baachhaahaa.
O’ my friend, let us pray to God and beg for the dust of the feet (humble service) of His devotees,
ਹੇ ਸਹੇਲੀਏ! (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਅੱਗੇ) ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰ ਕੇ (ਉਸ ਪਾਸੋਂ) ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਚਰਨ-ਧੂੜ ਮੰਗੀਏ,
ਜਨਮ ਜਨਮ ਕੇ ਕਿਲਵਿਖ ਲਾਹਾਂ ॥੨॥
janam janam kay kilvikh laahaaN. ||2||
and remove the sins of many births. ||2||
ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਜਨਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਾਪ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਲਈਏ ॥੨॥
ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਪ੍ਰਾਣ ਜੀਉ ਅਰਪਾਹਾ ॥
man tan paraan jee-o arpaahaa.
O’ friend, let us surrender our mind, body and life to God.
ਹੇ ਸਹੇਲੀਏ! ਸਾਹਿਬ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਮਨ ਤਨ ਜਿੰਦ ਜਾਨ ਭੇਟਾ ਕਰ ਦੇਈਏ।
ਹਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਮਾਨੁ ਮੋਹੁ ਕਟਾਹਾਂ ॥੩॥
har simar simar maan moh kataahaaN. ||3||
And eradicate our egotism and emotional attachments by always remembering God with loving devotion. ||3||
ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰ ਸਿਮਰ ਕੇ (ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ) ਅਹੰਕਾਰ ਤੇ ਮੋਹ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਲਈਏ ॥੩॥
ਦੀਨ ਦਇਆਲ ਕਰਹੁ ਉਤਸਾਹਾ ॥ ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾਸ ਹਰਿ ਸਰਣਿ ਸਮਾਹਾ ॥੪॥੨੦॥੨੬॥
deen da-i-aal karahu utsaahaa. naanak daas har saran samaahaa. ||4||20||26||
O’ Nanak! say, O’ merciful God of the meek! please inspire me so that I, Nanak, my always remain in the refuge of Your devotees. ||4||20||26||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਆਖ-) ਹੇ ਦੀਨਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਦਇਆ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਹਰੀ! ਮੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਚਾਉ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਦਾਸਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪਿਆ ਰਹਾਂ ॥੪॥੨੦॥੨੬॥

ਬੈਕੁੰਠ ਨਗਰੁ ਜਹਾ ਸੰਤ ਵਾਸਾ ॥
baikunth nagar jahaa sant vaasaa.
O’ my friend! that place, where saintly persons live, is a real city of heaven,
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਿਸ ਥਾਂ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ) ਸੰਤ ਜਨ ਵੱਸਦੇ ਹੋਣ, (ਅਸਲ) ਬੈਕੁੰਠ ਦਾ ਸ਼ਹਰ ਉਹੀ ਹੈ,
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਚਰਣ ਕਮਲ ਰਿਦ ਮਾਹਿ ਨਿਵਾਸਾ ॥੧॥
parabh charan kamal rid maahi nivaasaa. ||1||
because God’s lotus feet ( immaculate Name) dwells in their heart. ||1||
ਕਿਉਂਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਚਰਨ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਵੱਸਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੧॥
ਸੁਣਿ ਮਨ ਤਨ ਤੁਝੁ ਸੁਖੁ ਦਿਖਲਾਵਉ ॥
sun man tan tujh sukh dikhlaava-o.
O’ brother! listen,let me show your mind and body, what celestial peace is;
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! (ਮੇਰੀ ਗੱਲ) ਸੁਣ, (ਆ,) ਮੈਂ (ਤੇਰੇ) ਮਨ ਨੂੰ (ਤੇਰੇ) ਤਨ ਨੂੰ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਵਿਖਾ ਦਿਆਂ।
ਹਰਿ ਅਨਿਕ ਬਿੰਜਨ ਤੁਝੁ ਭੋਗ ਭੁੰਚਾਵਉ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
har anik binjan tujh bhog bhunchaava-o. ||1|| rahaa-o.
reciting God’s Name is like tasting numerous kinds of delicious dishes, let me help You eat and enjoy these delicious foods. ||1||Pause||
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ (ਮਾਨੋ) ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਸੁਆਦਲੇ ਭੋਜਨ ਹੈ, ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਸੁਆਦਲੇ ਭੋਜ ਖਵਾਵਾਂ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਨਾਮੁ ਭੁੰਚੁ ਮਨ ਮਾਹੀ ॥
amrit naam bhunch man maahee.
O’ brother! eat and enjoy the ambrosial food of Naam in your mind;
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ) ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ (-ਭੋਜਨ) ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਖਾਇਆ ਕਰ,
ਅਚਰਜ ਸਾਦ ਤਾ ਕੇ ਬਰਨੇ ਨ ਜਾਹੀ ॥੨॥
achraj saad taa kay barnay na jaahee. ||2||
the astonishing taste of this food cannot be described. ||2||
ਇਸ ਭੋਜਨ ਦੇ ਹੈਰਾਨ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਸੁਆਦ ਹਨ, ਬਿਆਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤੇ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੇ ॥੨॥
ਲੋਭੁ ਮੂਆ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਬੁਝਿ ਥਾਕੀ ॥
lobh moo-aa tarisnaa bujh thaakee.
O’ brother! the greed vanishes and the fire of their desires is quenched,
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! (ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾਲੋਭ ਮੁੱਕ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨਾ ਦੀ ਅੱਗ ਬੁੱਝ ਕੇ ਖ਼ਤਮ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ,
ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਕੀ ਸਰਣਿ ਜਨ ਤਾਕੀ ॥੩॥
paarbarahm kee saran jan taakee. ||3||
for those devotees who have come to the refuge of the Supreme God. ||3||
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਨੇ (ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ-ਬੈਕੁੰਠ ਵਿਚ ਆ ਕੇ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਤੱਕ ਲਿਆ ॥੩॥
ਜਨਮ ਜਨਮ ਕੇ ਭੈ ਮੋਹ ਨਿਵਾਰੇ ॥ ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾਸ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਧਾਰੇ ॥੪॥੨੧॥੨੭॥
janam janam kay bhai moh nivaaray. naanak daas parabh kirpaa Dhaaray. ||4||21||27||
O’ Nanak! God bestows mercy on His devotees and liberates them from the fears and worldly attachments of many births. ||4||21||27||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ!ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪਣੇ ਦਾਸਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਜਨਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਡਰ ਮੋਹ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ।॥੪॥੨੧॥੨੭॥

ਅਨਿਕ ਬੀਂਗ ਦਾਸ ਕੇ ਪਰਹਰਿਆ ॥
anik beeNg daas kay parhari-aa.
O’ brother! God removed many shortcomings of His devotee,
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਦੇ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਵਿੰਗ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੇ,
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਅਪਨਾ ਕਰਿਆ ॥੧॥
kar kirpaa parabh apnaa kari-aa. ||1||
and bestowing mercy, He made him His own. ||1||
ਤੇ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਬਣਾ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਤੁਮਹਿ ਛਡਾਇ ਲੀਓ ਜਨੁ ਅਪਨਾ ॥
tumeh chhadaa-ay lee-o jan apnaa.
O’ God! You liberated Your devotee from attachment of Maya,
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਨੂੰ (ਉਸ ਮੋਹ ਜਾਲ ਵਿਚੋਂ) ਆਪ ਕੱਢ ਲਿਆ,
ਉਰਝਿ ਪਰਿਓ ਜਾਲੁ ਜਗੁ ਸੁਪਨਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

who had entangled himself in the web of the worldly dream. ||1||Pause||
ਜੋ ਸੁਪਨੇ ਵਰਗੇ ਜਗਤ ਦੇਜਾਲ ਵਿਚ ਫਸਿਆ ਪਿਆ ਸੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਪਰਬਤ ਦੋਖ ਮਹਾ ਬਿਕਰਾਲਾ ॥
parbat dokh mahaa bikraalaa.
Even mountains of dreadful sins (of those who surrender),
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! (ਸਰਨ ਆਏ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ) ਪਹਾੜਾਂ ਜੇਡੇ ਵੱਡੇ ਤੇ ਭਿਆਨਕ ਐਬ-
ਖਿਨ ਮਹਿ ਦੂਰਿ ਕੀਏ ਦਇਆਲਾ ॥੨॥
khin meh door kee-ay da-i-aalaa. ||2||
were removed in an instant by the Merciful God. ||2||
ਦੀਨਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਦਇਆ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੇ ਇਕ ਛਿਨ ਵਿਚ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੇ ॥੨॥
ਸੋਗ ਰੋਗ ਬਿਪਤਿ ਅਤਿ ਭਾਰੀ ॥
sog rog bipat at bhaaree.
All sufferings, maladies, and serious calamities (of the devotee)
ਸੇਵਕ ਦੇ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਗ਼ਮ ਤੇ ਰੋਗ ਵੱਡੀਆਂ ਭਾਰੀਆਂ ਮੁਸੀਬਤਾਂ-
ਦੂਰਿ ਭਈ ਜਪਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਮੁਰਾਰੀ ॥੩॥
door bha-ee jap naam muraaree. ||3||
were removed by lovingly meditating on God’s Name. ||3||
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪ ਕੇ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਗਈਆਂ ॥੩॥
ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਧਾਰਿ ਲੀਨੋ ਲੜਿ ਲਾਇ ॥ ਹਰਿ ਚਰਣ ਗਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਰਣਾਇ ॥੪॥੨੨॥੨੮॥
darisat Dhaar leeno larh laa-ay.har charan gahay naanak sarnaa-ay. ||4||22||28||
O’ Nanak! bestowing His glance of grace, God united the one with Him who came to His refuge and got attuned to His immaculate Name, ||4||22||28||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ!ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੇ ਮੇਹਰ ਦੀ ਨਗਾਹ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਲੜ ਲਾ ਲਿਆ, ਜੋ ਉਸਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਆ ਪਿਆ ਅਤੇਉਸ ਦੇ ਚਰਨ ਫੜ ਲਏ, ॥੪॥੨੨॥੨੮॥
