ਤੁਧੁ ਆਪੇ ਆਪੁ ਉਪਾਇਆ ॥
tuDh aapay aap upaa-i-aa.
O God, You revealed Yourself in the form of this Universe,
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ (ਜਗਤ-ਰੂਪ ਵਿਚ) ਆਪ ਹੀ ਪਰਗਟ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ,
ਦੂਜਾ ਖੇਲੁ ਕਰਿ ਦਿਖਲਾਇਆ ॥
doojaa khayl kar dikhlaa-i-aa.
and You Yourself staged this play of Maya as Your manifestation which seems separate from You.
(ਇਹ ਤੈਥੋਂ ਵੱਖਰਾ ਦਿੱਸਦਾ) ਮਾਇਆ ਦਾ ਜਗਤ-ਤਮਾਸ਼ਾ ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਬਣਾ ਕੇ ਵਿਖਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।
ਸਭੁ ਸਚੋ ਸਚੁ ਵਰਤਦਾ ਜਿਸੁ ਭਾਵੈ ਤਿਸੈ ਬੁਝਾਇ ਜੀਉ ॥੨੦॥
sabh sacho sach varatdaa jis bhaavai tisai bujhaa-ay jee-o. ||20||
The True Creator pervades everywhere, but this is understood only by those whom He Himself makes to understand.
ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਹੀ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੈ। ਜਿਸ ਉੱਤੇ ਉਹ ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ (ਇਹ ਭੇਤ) ਸਮਝਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ
ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਪਾਇਆ ॥
gur parsaadee paa-i-aa.
The one who through the Guru’s grace, has understood the mystery of the omnipresence of God,
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਰਬ-ਵਿਆਪਕਤਾ ਦਾ ਭੇਦ) ਪਾ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ,
ਤਿਥੈ ਮਾਇਆ ਮੋਹੁ ਚੁਕਾਇਆ ॥
tithai maa-i-aa moh chukaa-i-aa.
sheds attachment to Maya (or worldly riches).
ਉਸ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਮਾਇਆ ਦਾ ਮੋਹ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।
ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰਿ ਕੈ ਆਪਣੀ ਆਪੇ ਲਏ ਸਮਾਇ ਜੀਉ ॥੨੧॥
kirpaa kar kai aapnee aapay la-ay samaa-ay jee-o. ||21||
Showering His Mercy, God merges that person in Himself.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪਣੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ l
ਗੋਪੀ ਨੈ ਗੋਆਲੀਆ ॥
gopee nai go-aalee-aa.
O’ God, You Yourself are Krishna’s milk maids, You Yourself are the (yamuna) river, You Yourself are krishna, the herdsman.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੂੰ ਹੀ (ਗੋਕਲ ਦੀ) ਗੋਪੀ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਜਮਨਾ) ਨਦੀ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਗੋਕਲ ਦਾ) ਗੁਆਲਾ ਹੈਂ।
ਤੁਧੁ ਆਪੇ ਗੋਇ ਉਠਾਲੀਆ ॥
tuDh aapay go-ay uthaalee-aa.
You Yourself support the world.
ਤੂੰ ਖੁਦ ਹੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਥੰਮਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ।
ਹੁਕਮੀ ਭਾਂਡੇ ਸਾਜਿਆ ਤੂੰ ਆਪੇ ਭੰਨਿ ਸਵਾਰਿ ਜੀਉ ॥੨੨॥
hukmee bhaaNday saaji-aa tooN aapay bhann savaar jee-o. ||22||
By Your Command, human beings are fashioned. You Yourself embellish them, and then again destroy them.
ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਹੁਕਮ ਵਿਚ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਰੀਰ ਸਾਜਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਨਾਸ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈਂ ਤੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈਂ
ਜਿਨ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸਿਉ ਚਿਤੁ ਲਾਇਆ ॥
jin satgur si-o chit laa-i-aa.
Those who have focused their consciousness on the True Guru,
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ (ਵਡ-ਭਾਗੀ) ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਲ ਪਿਆਰ ਪਾਇਆ ਹੈ,
ਤਿਨੀ ਦੂਜਾ ਭਾਉ ਚੁਕਾਇਆ ॥
tinee doojaa bhaa-o chukaa-i-aa.
have rid themselves of the love of Maya (worldly attachments)
ਉਹਨਾਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਮਾਇਆ ਦਾ ਪਿਆਰ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਨਿਰਮਲ ਜੋਤਿ ਤਿਨ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀਆ ਓਇ ਚਲੇ ਜਨਮੁ ਸਵਾਰਿ ਜੀਉ ॥੨੩॥
nirmal jot tin paraanee-aa o-ay chalay janam savaar jee-o. ||23||
Immaculate are the souls of those mortals, they depart (from this world) after fulfilling the mission of their lives.
ਉਹਨਾਂ ਬੰਦਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੋਤਿ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਆਪਣਾ ਜਨਮ ਸੁਥਰਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ (ਜਗਤ ਤੋਂ) ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨl
ਤੇਰੀਆ ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਚੰਗਿਆਈਆ ॥ ਮੈ ਰਾਤਿ ਦਿਹੈ ਵਡਿਆਈਆਂ ॥
tayree-aa sadaa sadaa chang-aa-ee-aa. mai raat dihai vadi-aa-ee-aaN.
O’ God, day and night, I praise Your eternal excellences.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੈਂ ਦਿਨੇ ਰਾਤ ਤੇਰੇ ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਗੁਣ ਸਲਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
ਅਣਮੰਗਿਆ ਦਾਨੁ ਦੇਵਣਾ ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਚੁ ਸਮਾਲਿ ਜੀਉ ॥੨੪॥੧॥
anmangi-aa daan dayvnaa kaho naanak sach samaal jee-o. ||24||1||
O’ Nanak, God bestows even the unasked-for gifts, enshrine Him in your heart.
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਮੰਗਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਹੀ ਹਰੇਕ ਦਾਤ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਵਸਾਈ ਰੱਖ l

Siree Raag, by the Fifth Guru:
ਪੈ ਪਾਇ ਮਨਾਈ ਸੋਇ ਜੀਉ ॥
pai paa-ay manaa-ee so-ay jee-o.
I humbly submit myself to please and appease Him.
ਮੈਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਕਰਨ ਲਈਂ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪੈਰੀ ਪੈਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪੁਰਖਿ ਮਿਲਾਇਆ ਤਿਸੁ ਜੇਵਡੁ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਇ ਜੀਉ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
satgur purakh milaa-i-aa tis jayvad avar na ko-ay jee-o. ||1|| rahaa-o.
The True Guru has united me with God the Primal Being. There is no other as great as He.
ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾ ਦਿਤਾ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜਿਡਾ ਵਡਾ ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ।
ਗੋਸਾਈ ਮਿਹੰਡਾ ਇਠੜਾ ॥
gosaa-ee mihandaa ith-rhaa.
My Master of Universe is very dear to me.
ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਮੇਰਾ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ) ਬਹੁਤ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਹੈ,
ਅੰਮ ਅਬੇ ਥਾਵਹੁ ਮਿਠੜਾ ॥
amm abay thaavhu mith-rhaa.
He is dearer to me than my mother and father.
ਉਹ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਾਂ ਪਿਉ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਭੀ ਵਧੀਕ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਭੈਣ ਭਾਈ ਸਭਿ ਸਜਣਾ ਤੁਧੁ ਜੇਹਾ ਨਾਹੀ ਕੋਇ ਜੀਉ ॥੧॥
bhain bhaa-ee sabh sajnaa tuDh jayhaa naahee ko-ay jee-o. ||1||
Among all sisters and brothers and friends, there is no one like You.
ਭੈਣ ਭਰਾ ਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਸਾਰੇ ਸਾਕ-ਸੈਣ (ਮੈਂ ਵੇਖ ਲਏ ਹਨ), ਤੇਰੇ ਬਰਾਬਰ ਦਾ ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ (ਹਿਤ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ) ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ l
ਤੇਰੈ ਹੁਕਮੇ ਸਾਵਣੁ ਆਇਆ ॥
tayrai hukmay saavan aa-i-aa.
By Your command, like Savvan (month of rain),The Guru came into my life.
ਤੇਰੇ ਹੁਕਮ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ (ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਹੋਇਆ, ਮਾਨੋ, ਮੇਰੇ ਵਾਸਤੇ) ਸਾਵਣ ਦਾ ਮਹੀਨਾ ਆ ਗਿਆ l
ਮੈ ਸਤ ਕਾ ਹਲੁ ਜੋਆਇਆ ॥
mai sat kaa hal jo-aa-i-aa.
After applying the plow of Truth (to the farm of my body),
ਮੈਂ ਉੱਚ ਆਚਰਣ ਬਣਾਣ ਦਾ ਹਲ ਜੋਅ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
ਨਾਉ ਬੀਜਣ ਲਗਾ ਆਸ ਕਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਬੋਹਲ ਬਖਸ ਜਮਾਇ ਜੀਉ ॥੨॥
naa-o beejan lagaa aas kar har bohal bakhas jamaa-ay jee-o. ||2||
I started sowing the seed of Your Naam, With the great expectation that in your mercy You may bless me with plentiful crop of Naam.
ਮੈਂ ਇਹ ਆਸ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ (ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ-ਖੇਤ ਵਿਚ) ਬੀਜਣ ਲੱਗ ਪਿਆ ਕਿ ਤੇਰੀ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਸ਼ ਦਾ ਬੋਹਲ ਇਕੱਠਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਇਗਾ l
ਹਉ ਗੁਰ ਮਿਲਿ ਇਕੁ ਪਛਾਣਦਾ ॥
ha-o gur mil ik pachhaandaa.
After meeting the Guru, I recognize only One God.
ਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਮੈਂ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਂਝ ਪਾਈ ਹੈ,
ਦੁਯਾ ਕਾਗਲੁ ਚਿਤਿ ਨ ਜਾਣਦਾ ॥
duyaa kaagal chit na jaandaa.
In my mind, I do not know of anyone else.
ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਕੋਈ ਹੋਰ ਲੇਖਾ ਲਿਖਣਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦਾ।
ਹਰਿ ਇਕਤੈ ਕਾਰੈ ਲਾਇਓਨੁ ਜਿਉ ਭਾਵੈ ਤਿਂਵੈ ਨਿਬਾਹਿ ਜੀਉ ॥੩॥
har iktai kaarai laa-i-on ji-o bhaavai tiNvai nibaahi jee-o. ||3||
You have assigned me one task (of growing the crop of Naam ). Now ,as it pleases You, help me accomplish this task.
ਤੂੰ ਮੈਨੂੰ (ਆਪਣਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਦੀ ਹੀ) ਇਕੋ ਕਾਰ ਵਿਚ ਜੋੜ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ। ਹੁਣ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਰਜ਼ਾ ਹੋਵੇ, ਇਸ ਕਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਰੇ ਚਾੜ੍ਹ l
ਤੁਸੀ ਭੋਗਿਹੁ ਭੁੰਚਹੁ ਭਾਈਹੋ ॥
tusee bhogihu bhunchahu bhaa-eeho.
O’ my brothers, you too enjoy the elixir of Naam.
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਤਸੰਗੀ ਭਰਾਵੋ! ਤੁਸੀਂ ਭੀ (ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ) ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ-ਰਸ ਮਾਣੋ।
ਗੁਰਿ ਦੀਬਾਣਿ ਕਵਾਇ ਪੈਨਾਈਓ ॥
gur deebaan kavaa-ay painaa-ee-o.
The Guru has adorned me with the robe of honor in God’s court.
ਮੈਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਦਰਗਾਹ ਵਿਚ ਸਿਰੋਪਾ ਪਹਿਨਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ (ਆਦਰ ਦਿਵਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ),
ਹਉ ਹੋਆ ਮਾਹਰੁ ਪਿੰਡ ਦਾ ਬੰਨਿ ਆਦੇ ਪੰਜਿ ਸਰੀਕ ਜੀਉ ॥੪॥
ha-o ho-aa maahar pind daa bann aaday panj sareek jee-o. ||4||
Now I have fully controlled my five rivals (lust, anger, greed, attachments, pride) Therefore, I have become the master of the body.
ਮੈਂ ਹੁਣ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਰੀਰ ਦਾ ਚੌਧਰੀ ਬਣ ਗਿਆ ਹਾਂ, ਮੈਂ (ਕਾਮਾਦਿਕ) ਪੰਜੇ ਹੀ ਵਿਰੋਧ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਕਾਬੂ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਲਿਆ ਬਿਠਾਏ ਹਨ l
ਹਉ ਆਇਆ ਸਾਮ੍ਹ੍ਹੈ ਤਿਹੰਡੀਆ ॥
ha-o aa-i-aa saamaiH tihandee-aa.
O’ God since the time I have come to your Sanctuary.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਨ ਆਇਆ ਹਾਂ।
ਪੰਜਿ ਕਿਰਸਾਣ ਮੁਜੇਰੇ ਮਿਹਡਿਆ ॥
panj kirsaan mujayray mihdi-aa.
The five cultivators (the senses of touch, taste, smell sight and hearing now work under my control, as if they ) have become my tenants.
ਤੇਰੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਨਾਲ ਪੰਜੇ (ਗਿਆਨ-ਇੰਦ੍ਰੇ) ਕਿਸਾਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਮੁਜ਼ਾਰੇ ਬਣ ਗਏ ਹਨ (ਮੇਰੇ ਕਹੇ ਵਿਚ ਤੁਰਦੇ ਹਨ)।
ਕੰਨੁ ਕੋਈ ਕਢਿ ਨ ਹੰਘਈ ਨਾਨਕ ਵੁਠਾ ਘੁਘਿ ਗਿਰਾਉ ਜੀਉ ॥੫॥
kann ko-ee kadh na hangh-ee naanak vuthaa ghugh giraa-o jee-o. ||5||
O’ Nanak, now I have full control over my senses, therefore I have acquired many virtues.
ਕੋਈ ਗਿਆਨ-ਇੰਦ੍ਰਾ ਮੈਥੋਂ ਆਕੀ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਸਿਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਚੁੱਕ ਸਕਦਾ। ਹੁਣ ਮੇਰਾ ਸਰੀਰ-ਨਗਰ ਭਲੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੰਘਣੀ ਵਸੋਂ ਨਾਲ ਵੱਸ ਪਿਆ ਹੈ l
ਹਉ ਵਾਰੀ ਘੁੰਮਾ ਜਾਵਦਾ ॥
ha-o vaaree ghummaa jaavdaa.
I dedicate myself to You.
ਮੈਂ ਤੈਥੋਂ ਸਦਕੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ,
ਇਕ ਸਾਹਾ ਤੁਧੁ ਧਿਆਇਦਾ ॥
ik saahaa tuDh Dhi-aa-idaa.
I continually remember You with loving devotion.
ਲਗਾਤਾਰ ਮੈਂ ਮੇਰਾ ਅਰਾਧਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
ਉਜੜੁ ਥੇਹੁ ਵਸਾਇਓ ਹਉ ਤੁਧ ਵਿਟਹੁ ਕੁਰਬਾਣੁ ਜੀਉ ॥੬॥
ujarh thayhu vasaa-i-o ha-o tuDh vitahu kurbaan jee-o. ||6||
O’ God, I was virtueless, You have blessed me with Divine virtues. I dedicate myself to You.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੈਂ ਤੈਥੋਂ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰਾ ਉੱਜੜਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਥੇਹ ਹੋਇਆ ਹਿਰਦਾ-ਘਰ (ਭਲੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਨਾਲ) ਵਸਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ॥
ਹਰਿ ਇਠੈ ਨਿਤ ਧਿਆਇਦਾ ॥
har ithai nit Dhi-aa-idaa.
(Now), O Beloved God, I continually remember You with love and devotion;
ਮੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ! ਮੈਂ ਹੁਣ ਤੇਰਾ ਸਦੀਵ ਹੀ ਸਿਰਮਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ,
ਮਨਿ ਚਿੰਦੀ ਸੋ ਫਲੁ ਪਾਇਦਾ ॥
man chindee so fal paa-idaa.
(by doing so) all the desires of my heart are being fulfilled.
ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਉਹ ਮੁਰਾਦਾ ਪਾਉਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਜੋ ਮੇਰਾ ਚਿੱਤ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਸਭੇ ਕਾਜ ਸਵਾਰਿਅਨੁ ਲਾਹੀਅਨੁ ਮਨ ਕੀ ਭੁਖ ਜੀਉ ॥੭॥
sabhay kaaj savaari-an laahee-an man kee bhukh jee-o. ||7||
All my tasks are accomplished, and (by Your Grace) all my hungers are satisfied.
ਉਸ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ) ਨੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਕੰਮ ਸਵਾਰ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਹਨ, ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਦੀ ਮਾਇਆ ਵਾਲੀ ਭੁੱਖ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ
ਮੈ ਛਡਿਆ ਸਭੋ ਧੰਧੜਾ ॥
mai chhadi-aa sabho DhanDh-rhaa.
I have forsaken all my entanglements;
ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੀ ਸਾਰੇ ਕਾਰ-ਵਿਹਾਰ ਤਿਆਗ ਦਿਤੇ ਹਨ।
ਗੋਸਾਈ ਸੇਵੀ ਸਚੜਾ ॥
gosaa-ee sayvee sachrhaa.
I only remember the true Master of the Universe.
ਮੈਂ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਦੇ ਮਾਲਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਸਿਮਰਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
ਨਉ ਨਿਧਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਮੈ ਪਲੈ ਬਧਾ ਛਿਕਿ ਜੀਉ ॥੮॥
na-o niDh naam niDhaan har mai palai baDhaa chhik jee-o. ||8||
(Now for me), God’s Name is like all the nine treasures of wealth, which I have firmly enshrined in my heart.
(ਹੁਣ ਮੇਰੇ ਵਾਸਤੇ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਹੀ ਜਗਤ ਦੇ ਨੌ ਖ਼ਜਾਨੇ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨਾਮ-ਧਨ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਦੇ ਪੱਲੇ ਵਿਚ ਬੰਨ੍ਹ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ
ਮੈ ਸੁਖੀ ਹੂੰ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥
mai sukhee hooN sukh paa-i-aa.
I have found the supreme bliss (of Naam)
(ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ) ਮੈਂ (ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦੇ) ਸਾਰੇ ਸੁਖਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਵਧੀਆ ਆਤਮਕ ਸੁਖ ਲੱਭ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਗੁਰਿ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਸਬਦੁ ਵਸਾਇਆ ॥
gur antar sabad vasaa-i-aa.
(because) the Guru has implanted the Divine Word deep within me.
ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦਾ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਵਸਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ
ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਪੁਰਖਿ ਵਿਖਾਲਿਆ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਧਰਿ ਕੈ ਹਥੁ ਜੀਉ ॥੯॥
satgur purakh vikhaali-aa mastak Dhar kai hath jee-o. ||9||
Bestowing his kindness, the true Guru has shown me the sight of God.
ਗੁਰੂ-ਪੁਰਖ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਿਰ ਉੱਤੇ ਆਪਣਾ (ਮਿਹਰ ਦਾ) ਹੱਥ ਰੱਖ ਕੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ) ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਕਰਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ
ਮੈ ਬਧੀ ਸਚੁ ਧਰਮ ਸਾਲ ਹੈ ॥
mai baDhee sach Dharam saal hai.
I have established the Temple of Truth.
ਮੈਂ ਧਰਮਸਾਲ (ਧਰਮ ਕਮਾਣ ਦੀ ਥਾਂ)ਬਣਾਈ ਹੈ
ਗੁਰਸਿਖਾ ਲਹਦਾ ਭਾਲਿ ਕੈ ॥
gursikhaa lahdaa bhaal kai.
I sought out the Guru’s disciples, and brought them into it.
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਲੱਭ ਕੇ ਮੈਂ ਇਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਿਆਇਆ ਹਾਂ।
ਪੈਰ ਧੋਵਾ ਪਖਾ ਫੇਰਦਾ ਤਿਸੁ ਨਿਵਿ ਨਿਵਿ ਲਗਾ ਪਾਇ ਜੀਉ ॥੧੦॥
pair Dhovaa pakhaa fayrdaa tis niv niv lagaa paa-ay jee-o. ||10||
I humbly serve the Guru’s disciples and provide all physical comforts.
ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੈਰ ਧੋਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪੱਖੀ ਝਲਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਨੀਵਾਂ ਝੁਕ ਕੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾ ਤੇ ਢਹਿ ਪੈਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
