ਸਾਂਤਿ ਸਹਜ ਸੂਖ ਮਨਿ ਉਪਜਿਓ ਕੋਟਿ ਸੂਰ ਨਾਨਕ ਪਰਗਾਸ ॥੨॥੫॥੨੪॥
saaNt sahj sookh man upji-o kot soor naanak pargaas. ||2||5||24||
O’ Nanak!. peace, tranquility, poise and pleasure have welled up in my mind; It is like millions of suns illuminating my mind. ||2||5||24||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਆਖ-) ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਹੈ, ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਦੇ ਸੁਖ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਹਨ, (ਮਾਨੋ) ਕ੍ਰੋੜਾਂ ਸੂਰਜਾਂ ਦਾ ਮੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਚਾਨਣ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ॥੨॥੫॥੨੪॥

Raag Todee, Fifth Guru:
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਪਤਿਤ ਪਾਵਨ ॥
har har patit paavan.
O’ my brother, God is the purifier of sinners.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਵਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ।
ਜੀਅ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਮਾਨ ਸੁਖਦਾਤਾ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ਮਨ ਕੋ ਭਾਵਨ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
jee-a paraan maan sukh-daata antarjaamee man ko bhaavan. rahaa-o.
God is the provider of life-breath, honor and comfort; He is omniscient and pleasing to the minds of all. ||Pause||
ਉਹ (ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੀ) ਜਿੰਦ ਪ੍ਰਾਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਹਾਰਾ ਹੈ, (ਸਭ ਨੂੰ) ਸੁਖ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, (ਸਭ ਦੇ) ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, (ਸਭਨਾਂ ਦੇ) ਮਨ ਦਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਹੈ ॥ਰਹਾਉ॥
ਸੁੰਦਰੁ ਸੁਘੜੁ ਚਤੁਰੁ ਸਭ ਬੇਤਾ ਰਿਦ ਦਾਸ ਨਿਵਾਸ ਭਗਤ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਵਨ ॥
sundar sugharh chatur sabh baytaa rid daas nivaas bhagat gun gaavan.
Beautiful and wise, clever and all-knowing, He dwells within the hearts of His devotees and they all sing His glorious praises.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਸੋਹਣਾ ਹੈ, ਸੁਚੱਜੀ ਘਾੜਤ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਸਿਆਣਾ ਹੈ, ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਆਪਣੇ ਦਾਸਾਂ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਨਿਵਾਸ ਰੱਖਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਭਗਤ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਨਿਰਮਲ ਰੂਪ ਅਨੂਪ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਕਰਮ ਭੂਮਿ ਬੀਜਨ ਸੋ ਖਾਵਨ ॥੧॥
nirmal roop anoop su-aamee karam bhoom beejan so khaavan. ||1||
That Master is of immaculate form and unequalled beauty, according to His command, one reaps what he sows. ||1||
ਉਹ ਮਾਲਕ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ-ਸਰੂਪ ਹੈ, ਬੇ-ਮਿਸਾਲ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਦਾ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਇਹ ਮਨੁੱਖਾ ਸਰੀਰ ਕਰਮ ਬੀਜਣ ਲਈ ਧਰਤੀ ਹੈ; ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਜੀਵ ਇਸ ਵਿਚ ਬੀਜਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹੀ ਖਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੧॥
ਬਿਸਮਨ ਬਿਸਮ ਭਏ ਬਿਸਮਾਦਾ ਆਨ ਨ ਬੀਓ ਦੂਸਰ ਲਾਵਨ ॥
bisman bisam bha-ay bismaadaa aan na bee-o doosar laavan.
One gets amazed and wonderstruck by pondering over God; there is none other like Him.
ਉਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਬਾਰੇ ਸੋਚ ਕੇ) ਬਹੁਤ ਹੀ ਹੈਰਾਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਈਦਾ ਹੈ। ਕੋਈ ਭੀ ਹੋਰ ਦੂਜਾ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਬਰਾਬਰ ਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ।
ਰਸਨਾ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਜਸੁ ਜੀਵਾ ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾਸ ਸਦਾ ਬਲਿ ਜਾਵਨ ॥੨॥੬॥੨੫॥
rasnaa simar simar jas jeevaa naanak daas sadaa bal jaavan. ||2||6||25||
O’ Nanak, God’s devotees are forever dedicated to Him; by singing His praises with my tongue, I feel spiritually rejuvenated. ||2||6||25|
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਆਖ-) ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਉਸ ਤੋ ਸਦਾ ਸਦਕੇ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਆਪਣੀ ਜੀਭ ਨਾਲ ਕਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਮੈਂ ਭੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹਾਂ ॥੨॥੬॥੨੫॥

Raag Todee, Fifth Guru:
ਮਾਈ ਮਾਇਆ ਛਲੁ ॥
maa-ee maa-i-aa chhal.
O’ mother, this Maya is an illusion.
ਹੇ ਮਾਂ! ਮਾਇਆ ਇਕ ਛਲਾਵਾ ਹੈ।
ਤ੍ਰਿਣ ਕੀ ਅਗਨਿ ਮੇਘ ਕੀ ਛਾਇਆ ਗੋਬਿਦ ਭਜਨ ਬਿਨੁ ਹੜ ਕਾ ਜਲੁ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
tarin kee agan maygh kee chhaa-i-aa gobid bhajan bin harh kaa jal. rahaa-o.
Without meditating on the Master of the universe, this Maya is short lived like straw on fire, or the shadow of a cloud, or the flood-waters. ||Pause||
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਭਜਨ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਇਸ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ ਪਾਂਇਆਂ ਇਤਨੀ ਹੈ, ਜਿਵੇਂ ਕਿ ਕੱਖਾਂ ਦੀ ਅੱਗ , ਬੱਦਲਾਂ ਦੀ ਛਾਂ, ਹੜ ਦਾ ਪਾਣੀ ਰਹਾਉ॥
ਛੋਡਿ ਸਿਆਨਪ ਬਹੁ ਚਤੁਰਾਈ ਦੁਇ ਕਰ ਜੋੜਿ ਸਾਧ ਮਗਿ ਚਲੁ ॥
chhod si-aanap baho chaturaa-ee du-ay kar jorh saaDh mag chal.
O’ brother, forsake cleverness, instead walk on the path shown by the Guru with utmost humility,
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! (ਮਾਇਆ ਛਲਾਵੇ ਦੇ ਧੋਖੇ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਣ ਲਈ) ਬਹੁਤੀਆਂ ਚਲਾਕੀਆਂ ਤੇ ਸਿਆਣਪਾਂ ਛੱਡ ਦੇ, ਦੋਵੇਂ ਹੱਥ ਜੋੜ ਕੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ (ਦੱਸੇ ਹੋਏ) ਰਸਤੇ ਉਤੇ ਤੁਰਿਆ ਕਰ,
ਸਿਮਰਿ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ਮਾਨੁਖ ਦੇਹ ਕਾ ਇਹੁ ਊਤਮ ਫਲੁ ॥੧॥
simar su-aamee antarjaamee maanukh dayh kaa ih ootam fal. ||1||
and always lovingly remember the omniscient Master-God, this alone is the most sublime reward of human life.
ਅਤੇ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ਮਾਲਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਿਆ ਕਰ-ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਰੀਰ ਦਾ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਚੰਗਾ ਫਲ ਇਹੀ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਬੇਦ ਬਖਿਆਨ ਕਰਤ ਸਾਧੂ ਜਨ ਭਾਗਹੀਨ ਸਮਝਤ ਨਹੀ ਖਲੁ ॥
bayd bakhi-aan karat saaDhoo jan bhaagheen samjhat nahee khal.
The saintly persons keep delivering such spiritual sermons based on the holy scriptures, but the unfortunate foolish human being still does not get it.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਭਲੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੀ ਸੂਝ ਦਾ ਇਹ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਪਰ ਨਿਭਾਗਾ ਮੂਰਖ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਇਸ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਮਝਦਾ।
ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਭਗਤਿ ਰਾਚੇ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਦਹਨ ਭਏ ਮਲ ॥੨॥੭॥੨੬॥
paraym bhagat raachay jan naanak har simran dahan bha-ay mal. ||2||7||26||
O’ Nanak, God’s devotees remain lovingly absorbed in His devotional worship; their vices burn down, because they always remember God. ||2||7||26||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਦਾਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਪਿਆਰ-ਭਗਤੀ ਵਿਚ ਮਸਤ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਕਾਮਾਦਿਕ ਭਲਵਾਨ ਸੜ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੨॥੭॥੨੬॥

ਮਾਈ ਚਰਨ ਗੁਰ ਮੀਠੇ ॥
maa-ee charan gur meethay.
O’ mother, sweet are the Guru’s immaculate words.
ਹੇ ਮਾਂ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨ (ਮੈਨੂੰ) ਪਿਆਰੇ ਲੱਗਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਵਡੈ ਭਾਗਿ ਦੇਵੈ ਪਰਮੇਸਰੁ ਕੋਟਿ ਫਲਾ ਦਰਸਨ ਗੁਰ ਡੀਠੇ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
vadai bhaag dayvai parmaysar kot falaa darsan gur deethay. rahaa-o.
Most fortunate are those whom God blesses with the love of the Guru’s words; meeting the Guru is like receiving the reward of millions of good deeds.
(ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ) ਵੱਡੀ ਕਿਸਮਤ ਨਾਲ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ (ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਿਲਾਪ) ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਦਰਸਨ ਕੀਤਿਆਂ (ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ) ਕ੍ਰੋੜਾਂ (ਪੁੰਨਾਂ ਦੇ) ਫਲ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਰਹਾਉ॥
ਗੁਨ ਗਾਵਤ ਅਚੁਤ ਅਬਿਨਾਸੀ ਕਾਮ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਬਿਨਸੇ ਮਦ ਢੀਠੇ ॥
gun gaavat achut abhinaasee kaam kroDh binsay mad dheethay.
O’ mother, one’s stubborn addictions such as lust, anger and greed are destroyed by singing the praises of the immortal and imperishable God.
ਹੇ ਮਾਂ! ਅਟੱਲ ਅਬਿਨਾਸੀ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਂਦਿਆਂ ਗਾਂਦਿਆਂ ਮੁੜ ਮੁੜ ਹੱਲਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਆਉਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਕਾਮ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਅਹੰਕਾਰ (ਆਦਿਕ ਵਿਕਾਰ) ਨਾਸ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਅਸਥਿਰ ਭਏ ਸਾਚ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਾਤੇ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਬਾਹੁਰਿ ਨਹੀ ਪੀਠੇ ॥੧॥
asthir bha-ay saach rang raatay janam maran baahur nahee peethay. ||1||
Those who become imbued with God’s love, become spiritually stable against the vices and do not have to suffer in the cycles of birth and death. ||1||
ਜੇਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ-ਰੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਰੰਗੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਉਹ (ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਹੱਲਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਟਾਕਰੇ ਤੇ) ਅਡੋਲ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਣ (ਦੀ ਚੱਕੀ) ਵਿਚ ਮੁੜ ਮੁੜ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੀਸੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ॥੧॥
ਬਿਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਭਜਨ ਰੰਗ ਰਸ ਜੇਤੇ ਸੰਤ ਦਇਆਲ ਜਾਨੇ ਸਭਿ ਝੂਠੇ ॥
bin har bhajan rang ras jaytay sant da-i-aal jaanay sabh jhoothay.
By the Guru’s grace, his followers understands that without remembering God with adoration, all joys and worldly pleasures are totally false and short lived.
ਦਇਆ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਜੇਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨੀਂ ਲੱਗਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਭਜਨ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਸਾਰੇ ਹੀ ਦੁਨੀਆਵੀ ਸੁਆਦਾਂ ਤੇ ਤਮਾਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਝੂਠੇ ਜਾਣਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਨਾਮ ਰਤਨੁ ਪਾਇਓ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮ ਬਿਹੂਨ ਚਲੇ ਸਭਿ ਮੂਠੇ ॥੨॥੮॥੨੭॥
naam ratan paa-i-o jan naanak naam bihoon chalay sabh moothay. ||2||8||27||
O’ Nanak, God’s devotees receive the jewel like invaluable Naam; others who are without Naam, depart the world cheated of their spiritual life. ||2||8||27||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਆਖ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਰਤਨ ਵਰਗਾ ਕੀਮਤੀ ਨਾਮ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਸੱਖਣੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਹੀ ਜੀਵ ਆਪਣਾ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਲੁਟਾ ਕੇ ਜਗਤ ਤੋਂ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੨॥੮॥੨੭॥

ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਚਿਤਾਰਾ ॥
saaDhsang har har naam chitaaraa.
One who contemplates on God’s Name in the company of the Guru,
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕ ਕੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਸਹਜਿ ਅਨੰਦੁ ਹੋਵੈ ਦਿਨੁ ਰਾਤੀ ਅੰਕੁਰੁ ਭਲੋ ਹਮਾਰਾ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
sahj anand hovai din raatee ankur bhalo hamaaraa. rahaa-o.
spiritual poise wells up and he always enjoys bliss. It is like sprouting of our destiny (by being in the holy congregation). ||Pause||
ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਆਨੰਦ ਬਣਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਅਸਾਂ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਿਛਲੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਦਾ ਭਲਾ ਅੰਕੁਰ ਫੁੱਟ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥ਰਹਾਉ॥
ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰਾ ਭੇਟਿਓ ਬਡਭਾਗੀ ਜਾ ਕੋ ਅੰਤੁ ਨ ਪਾਰਾਵਾਰਾ ॥
gur pooraa bhayti-o badbhaagee jaa ko ant na paaraavaaraa.
By great fortune, one who unites with the perfect Guru whose virtues have no end or limitation.
ਵੱਡੀ ਕਿਸਮਤ ਨਾਲ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਪੂਰਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ , ਜਿਸ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਅੰਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ,
ਕਰੁ ਗਹਿ ਕਾਢਿ ਲੀਓ ਜਨੁ ਅਪੁਨਾ ਬਿਖੁ ਸਾਗਰ ਸੰਸਾਰਾ ॥੧॥
kar geh kaadh lee-o jan apunaa bikh saagar sansaaraa. ||1||
extending his support, the Guru pulls him out of the poisonous world-ocean. ||1||
ਗੁਰੂ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਹੱਥ ਫੜ ਕੇ ਵਿਹੁਲੇ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਕੱਢ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ॥੧॥
ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਕਾਟੇ ਗੁਰ ਬਚਨੀ ਬਹੁੜਿ ਨ ਸੰਕਟ ਦੁਆਰਾ ॥
janam maran kaatay gur bachnee bahurh na sankat du-aaraa.
Birth and death are ended upon following the Guru’s teachings and the devotee no longer has to endure pain and suffering.
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਬਚਨਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਤੁਰਿਆਂ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਵਿਚ ਪਾਣ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਫਾਹੀਆਂ ਕੱਟੀਆਂ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ, ਕਸ਼ਟਾਂ-ਭਰੇ ਚੌਰਾਸੀ ਦੇ ਗੇੜ ਦਾ ਦਰਵਾਜ਼ਾ ਮੁੜ ਨਹੀਂ ਵੇਖਣਾ ਪੈਂਦਾ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਸਰਨਿ ਗਹੀ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਕੀ ਪੁਨਹ ਪੁਨਹ ਨਮਸਕਾਰਾ ॥੨॥੯॥੨੮॥
naanak saran gahee su-aamee kee punah punah namaskaaraa. ||2||9||28||
O’ Nanak, I too have come to the refuge of the Master-God and I humbly bow to Him again and again. ||2||9||28||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਆਖ) ਮੈਂ ਭੀ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ, ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਦਰ ਤੇ ਮੁੜ ਮੁੜ ਸਿਰ ਨਿਵਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ ॥੨॥੯॥੨੮॥

O’ mother, by meditating on Naam, my mind is in such a celestial peace that
ਹੇ ਮਾਂ! (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਦਿਆਂ) ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਦਾ ਸੁਖ (ਇਤਨਾ ਉੱਚਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਕੋਟਿ ਅਨੰਦ ਰਾਜ ਸੁਖੁ ਭੁਗਵੈ ਹਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਬਿਨਸੈ ਸਭ ਦੁਖੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
kot anand raaj sukh bhugvai har simrat binsai sabh dukh. ||1|| rahaa-o.
it feels like enjoying the ecstasy of millions of pleasures and it seems as if all the pains and sufferings have vanished. ||1||Pause||
ਕਿ ਇਉਂ ਜਾਪਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਵੇਂ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨ) ਕ੍ਰੋੜਾਂ ਆਨੰਦ ਮਾਣ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ; ਕ੍ਰੋੜਾਂ ਬਾਦਸ਼ਾਹੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਸੁਖ ਮਾਣ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਮਾਂ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਦਿਆਂ ਸਾਰਾ ਦੁੱਖ ਨਾਸ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਕੋਟਿ ਜਨਮ ਕੇ ਕਿਲਬਿਖ ਨਾਸਹਿ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਪਾਵਨ ਤਨ ਮਨ ਸੁਖ ॥
kot janam kay kilbikh naaseh simrat paavan tan man sukh.
The sins of millions of lifetimes are erased by remembering God with adoration and the mind and body find spiritual peace.
ਹੇ ਮਾਂ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਿਆਂ ਤਨ ਮਨ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਕ੍ਰੋੜਾਂ ਜਨਮਾਂ ਦੇ (ਕੀਤੇ ਹੋਏ) ਪਾਪ ਨਾਸ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਦੇਖਿ ਸਰੂਪੁ ਪੂਰਨੁ ਭਈ ਆਸਾ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਭੇਟਤ ਉਤਰੀ ਭੁਖ ॥੧॥
daykh saroop pooran bha-ee aasaa darsan bhaytat utree bhukh. ||1||
Upon realization of God, all desires are fulfilled; craving for all worldly desires is quenched by experiencing the blessed vision of God. ||1||
(ਸਿਮਰਨ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ) ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਦੀਦਾਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ (ਮਨ ਦੀ ਹਰੇਕ) ਮੁਰਾਦ ਪੂਰੀ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਦਰਸਨ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ) ਭੁੱਖ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਚਾਰਿ ਪਦਾਰਥ ਅਸਟ ਮਹਾ ਸਿਧਿ ਕਾਮਧੇਨੁ ਪਾਰਜਾਤ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਰੁਖੁ ॥
chaar padaarath asat mahaa siDh kaamDhayn paarjaat har har rukh.
God Himself is the benefactor of the four great boons and the eight miraculous powers of the Siddhas; He Himself is the wish-fulfilling cow and the wish-fulfilling elysian tree.
ਹੇ ਮਾਂ! ਚਾਰ ਪਦਾਰਥ (ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ), ਅੱਠ ਵੱਡੀਆਂ ਕਰਾਮਾਤੀ ਤਾਕਤਾਂ (ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਹੈ। ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਹੈ ਕਾਮਧੇਨ; ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਹੈ ਪਾਰਜਾਤ ਰੁੱਖ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਸਰਨਿ ਗਹੀ ਸੁਖ ਸਾਗਰ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਫਿਰਿ ਗਰਭ ਨ ਧੁਖੁ ॥੨॥੧੦॥੨੯॥
naanak saran gahee sukh saagar janam maran fir garabh na Dhukh. ||2||10||29||
O’ Nanak, one who has come to the refuge of God, the ocean of celestial peace, does not have to go through the cycle of birth and death.||2||10||29||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਆਖ-ਹੇ ਮਾਂ! ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ) ਸੁਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਲੈ ਲਿਆ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਦੇ ਗੇੜ ਦਾ ਫ਼ਿਕਰ, ਜੂਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਪੈਣ ਦਾ ਫ਼ਿਕਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ॥੨॥੧੦॥੨੯॥
