ਮੇਰੀ ਮੇਰੀ ਕੈਰਉ ਕਰਤੇ ਦੁਰਜੋਧਨ ਸੇ ਭਾਈ ॥
mayree mayree kaira-o kartay durjoDhan say bhaa-ee.
The Kauravas, who had brothers like powerful Duryodhan, used to proclaim, This is ours! This is ours!
ਕੌਰਵਾਂ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਦੁਰਜੋਧਨ ਵਰਗੇ ਬਲੀ ਭਰਾ ਸਨ, ਉਹ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਸਨ ਕਿ ਹਰ ਸ਼ੈ ਸਾਡੀ, ਸਾਡੀ ਹੀ ਹੈ।
ਬਾਰਹ ਜੋਜਨ ਛਤ੍ਰੁ ਚਲੈ ਥਾ ਦੇਹੀ ਗਿਰਝਨ ਖਾਈ ॥੨॥
baarah jojan chhatar chalai thaa dayhee girjhan khaa-ee. ||2||
Their vast empire extended over many miles but when they were all killed in the battle, their dead bodies were eaten by vultures. ||2||
ਅਠਤਾਲੀਆਂ ਕੋਹਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਛਤ੍ਰ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵ ਸੀ ਪਰ ਕੁਰਖੇਤਰ ਦੇ ਜੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਗਿਰਝਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਲੋਥਾਂ ਖਾਧੀਆਂ ॥੨॥
ਸਰਬ ਸੋੁਇਨ ਕੀ ਲੰਕਾ ਹੋਤੀ ਰਾਵਨ ਸੇ ਅਧਿਕਾਈ ॥
sarab so-in kee lankaa hotee raavan say aDhikaa-ee.
Was there anyone greater than Raavan whose domain, Lanka, was all built in Gold.
ਰਾਵਣ ਵਰਗੇ ਵੱਡੇ ਬਲੀ ਰਾਜੇ ਦੀ ਲੰਕਾ ਸਾਰੀ ਦੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਸੋਨੇ ਦੀ ਸੀ l
ਕਹਾ ਭਇਓ ਦਰਿ ਬਾਂਧੇ ਹਾਥੀ ਖਿਨ ਮਹਿ ਭਈ ਪਰਾਈ ॥੩॥
kahaa bha-i-o dar baaNDhay haathee khin meh bha-ee paraa-ee. ||3||
So what if he had lots of elephants tethered at his gate, in an instant everything belonged to someone else. ||3||
ਕੀ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਜੇਕਰ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਬੂਹੇ ਉਤੇ ਹਾਥੀ ਬੱਝੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਸਨ? ਇਕ ਮੁਹਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੰਕਾ ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਜਾਇਦਾਦ ਬਣ ਗਈ ॥੩॥
ਦੁਰਬਾਸਾ ਸਿਉ ਕਰਤ ਠਗਉਰੀ ਜਾਦਵ ਏ ਫਲ ਪਾਏ ॥
durbaasaa si-o karat thag-uree jaadav ay fal paa-ay.
The arrogant Yadava boys made fun of sage Durbasa, they were cursed by the sage to the extinction of their entire lineage.
(ਅਹੰਕਾਰ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਆ ਕੇ) ਜਾਦਵਾਂ ਨੇ ਦੁਰਬਾਸਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਸਖ਼ਰੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਤੇ ਇਹ ਫਲ ਪਾਇਓ ਨੇ (ਕਿ ਸਾਰੀ ਕੁਲ ਹੀ ਮੁੱਕ ਗਈ)।
ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰੀ ਜਨ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਊਪਰ ਨਾਮਦੇਉ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਏ ॥੪॥੧॥
kirpaa karee jan apunay oopar naamday-o har gun gaa-ay. ||4||1||
But God has shown mercy on His humble devotee Namdev; abandoning ego he is singing God’s praises. ||4||1||
ਪਰ) ਆਪਣੇ ਦਾਸ ਨਾਮਦੇਵ ਉੱਤੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੇ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਨਾਮਦੇਵ (ਮਾਣ ਤਿਆਗ ਕੇ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।੪।੧।
ਦਸ ਬੈਰਾਗਨਿ ਮੋਹਿ ਬਸਿ ਕੀਨ੍ਹ੍ਹੀ ਪੰਚਹੁ ਕਾ ਮਿਟ ਨਾਵਉ ॥
das bairaagan mohi bas keenHee panchahu kaa mit naava-o.
I have controlled my ten sense organs and have so completely overcome my five vices (lust, anger, greed, ego, and attachment) as if their very name is erased.
ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਦਸੇ ਵੈਰਾਗਣ ਇੰਦ੍ਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਵੱਸ ਵਿਚ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ, ਮੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਹੁਣ ਪੰਜ ਕਾਮਾਦਿਕਾਂ ਦਾ ਖੁਰਾ-ਖੋਜ ਹੀ ਮਿਟ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ l
ਸਤਰਿ ਦੋਇ ਭਰੇ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਸਰਿ ਬਿਖੁ ਕਉ ਮਾਰਿ ਕਢਾਵਉ ॥੧॥
satar do-ay bharay amrit sar bikh ka-o maar kadhaava-o. ||1||
I have drained out the poison of worldly riches from my body and have filled it with the ambrosial nectar of Naam. ||1||
ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੀ ਰਗ-ਰਗ ਨੂੰ ਨਾਮ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਦੇ ਸਰੋਵਰ ਨਾਲ ਭਰ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ ਤੇ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ) ਜ਼ਹਿਰ ਦਾ ਪੂਰਨ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਨਾਸ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਪਾਛੈ ਬਹੁਰਿ ਨ ਆਵਨੁ ਪਾਵਉ ॥
paachhai bahur na aavan paava-o.
now I shall not come back into the world again,
ਹੁਣ ਮੈਂ ਮੁੜ ਮੁੜ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਵਿਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਵਾਂਗਾ,
ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਬਾਣੀ ਘਟ ਤੇ ਉਚਰਉ ਆਤਮ ਕਉ ਸਮਝਾਵਉ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
amrit banee ghat tay uchara-o aatam ka-o samjhaava-o. ||1|| rahaa-o.
because I always utter the divine words of God’s praises from my heart and instruct my mind about righteous living ||1||Pause||
ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਦਿਲੋਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਉਚਾਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਸਹੀ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੀ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਬਜਰ ਕੁਠਾਰੁ ਮੋਹਿ ਹੈ ਛੀਨਾਂ ਕਰਿ ਮਿੰਨਤਿ ਲਗਿ ਪਾਵਉ ॥
bajar kuthaar mohi hai chheenaaN kar minat lag paava-o.
By humbly praying before the Guru, I have completely eradicated my fear of death, as if I have snatched the mighty axe from the demon of death.
ਆਪਣੇ ਸਤਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਚਰਨੀਂ ਲੱਗ ਕੇ, ਗੁਰੂ ਅੱਗੇ ਅਰਜ਼ੋਈ ਕਰ ਕੇ (ਕਾਲ ਦੇ ਹੱਥੋਂ) ਮੈਂ (ਉਸ ਦਾ) ਭਿਆਨਕ ਕੁਹਾੜਾ ਖੋਹ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਸੰਤਨ ਕੇ ਹਮ ਉਲਟੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਭਗਤਨ ਤੇ ਡਰਪਾਵਉ ॥੨॥
santan kay ham ultay sayvak bhagtan tay darpaava-o. ||2||
Instead of being afraid of death, now I have revered fear of God’s devotees and I have become their humble servant. ||2||
(ਕਾਲ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਡਰਨ ਦੇ ਥਾਂ) ਮੈਂ ਉਲਟਾ ਭਗਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਡਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ (ਭਾਵ, ਅਦਬ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ) ਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਹੀ ਸੇਵਕ ਬਣ ਗਿਆ ਹਾਂ ॥੨॥
ਇਹ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਤੇ ਤਬ ਹੀ ਛੂਟਉ ਜਉ ਮਾਇਆ ਨਹ ਲਪਟਾਵਉ ॥
ih sansaar tay tab hee chhoota-o ja-o maa-i-aa nah laptaava-o.
I shall be released from the bonds of this world, only if I do not entangle myself in the love for Maya, worldly riches and power.
ਇਸ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਦੇ ਬੰਧਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਮੈਂ ਤਦੋਂ ਹੀ ਖ਼ਲਾਸੀ ਖਲਾਸੀ ਪਾਵਾਂਗਾ ਜੇ ਮੈਂ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਵਿਚ ਨਾ ਫਸਾਂ;
ਮਾਇਆ ਨਾਮੁ ਗਰਭ ਜੋਨਿ ਕਾ ਤਿਹ ਤਜਿ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਪਾਵਉ ॥੩॥
maa-i-aa naam garabh jon kaa tih taj darsan paava-o. ||3||
The blessed vision of God is possible only after forsaking the love for Mays, which is also the root cause for falling into the rounds of births and deaths. ||3||
ਮਾਇਆ (ਦਾ ਮੋਹ) ਹੀ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਦੇ ਗੇੜ ਵਿਚ ਪੈਣ ਦਾ ਮੂਲ ਹੈ, ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਤਿਆਗ ਕੇ ਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਦੀਦਾਰ ਹੋ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਇਤੁ ਕਰਿ ਭਗਤਿ ਕਰਹਿ ਜੋ ਜਨ ਤਿਨ ਭਉ ਸਗਲ ਚੁਕਾਈਐ ॥
it kar bhagat karahi jo jan tin bha-o sagal chukhaa-ee-ai.
The devotees who worship God in this way, all their fears are removed.
ਇਸ ਤਰੀਕੇ ਨਾਲ ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ; ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਹਰੇਕ ਕਿਸਮ ਦਾ ਸਹਿਮ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਕਹਤ ਨਾਮਦੇਉ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਕਿਆ ਭਰਮਹੁ ਇਹ ਸੰਜਮ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਈਐ ॥੪॥੨॥
kahat naamday-o baahar ki-aa bharmahu ih sanjam har paa-ee-ai. ||4||2||
Namdev says, O’ brother, why are you wandering around out there? These are the ways to realize God. ||4||2||
ਨਾਮਦੇਵ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ-(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਭੇਖੀ ਬੈਰਾਗੀ ਬਣ ਕੇ) ਬਾਹਰ ਭਟਕਣ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਲਾਭ ਨਹੀਂ; (ਜਿਹੜੇ ਸੰਜਮ ਅਸਾਂ ਦੱਸੇ ਹਨ) ਇਹਨਾਂ ਸੰਜਮਾਂ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤੀ ਹੋ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੪॥੨॥
ਮਾਰਵਾੜਿ ਜੈਸੇ ਨੀਰੁ ਬਾਲਹਾ ਬੇਲਿ ਬਾਲਹਾ ਕਰਹਲਾ ॥
maarvaarh jaisay neer baalhaa bayl baalhaa karhalaa.
Just as water is very precious in a desert like Marwarr, the green creeper weeds are dear to the camel.
ਜਿਵੇਂ ਮਾਰਵਾੜ (ਦੇਸ) ਵਿਚ ਪਾਣੀ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਵੇਂ ਊਠ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਲ ਪਿਆਰੀ ਲੱਗਦੀ ਹੈ,
ਜਿਉ ਕੁਰੰਕ ਨਿਸਿ ਨਾਦੁ ਬਾਲਹਾ ਤਿਉ ਮੇਰੈ ਮਨਿ ਰਾਮਈਆ ॥੧॥
ji-o kurank nis naad baalhaa ti-o mayrai man raam-ee-aa. ||1||
As the tune of the hunter’s bell at night is enticing to the deer, similarly God is dear to my mind. ||1||
ਜਿਵੇਂ ਹਰਨ ਨੂੰ ਰਾਤ ਵੇਲੇ (ਘੰਡੇਹੇੜੇ ਦੀ) ਅਵਾਜ਼ ਪਿਆਰੀ ਲੱਗਦੀ ਹੈ, ਤਿਵੇਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਸੋਹਣਾ ਰਾਮ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਰੂੜੋ ਰੂਪੁ ਰੂੜੋ ਅਤਿ ਰੰਗ ਰੂੜੋ ਮੇਰੋ ਰਾਮਈਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
tayraa naam roorho roop roorho at rang roorho mayro raam-ee-aa. ||1|| rahaa-o.
O’ my all pervading God, beauteous is Your Name, beautiful is Your form, and extremely beautiful is Your color. ||1||Pause||
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਰਾਮ! ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਸੋਹਣਾ ਹੈ, ਤੇਰਾ ਰੂਪ ਸੋਹਣਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਤੇਰਾ ਰੰਗ ਬਹੁਤ ਸੋਹਣਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਜਿਉ ਧਰਣੀ ਕਉ ਇੰਦ੍ਰੁ ਬਾਲਹਾ ਕੁਸਮ ਬਾਸੁ ਜੈਸੇ ਭਵਰਲਾ ॥
ji-o Dharnee ka-o indar baalhaa kusam baas jaisay bhavralaa.
Just as rain is dear to the earth, the flower’s fragrance is dear to the bumble bee,
ਜਿਵੇਂ ਧਰਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਮੀਂਹ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਵੇਂ ਭੌਰੇ ਨੂੰ ਫੁੱਲ ਦੀ ਸੁਗੰਧੀ ਪਿਆਰੀ ਲੱਗਦੀ ਹੈ,
ਜਿਉ ਕੋਕਿਲ ਕਉ ਅੰਬੁ ਬਾਲਹਾ ਤਿਉ ਮੇਰੈ ਮਨਿ ਰਾਮਈਆ ॥੨॥
ji-o kokil ka-o amb baalhaa ti-o mayrai man raam-ee-aa. ||2||
and the mango is dear to the cuckoo, similarly all pervading God is dear to my mind. ||2||
ਜਿਵੇਂ ਕੋਇਲ ਨੂੰ ਅੰਬ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਿਵੇਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਸੋਹਣਾ ਰਾਮ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਚਕਵੀ ਕਉ ਜੈਸੇ ਸੂਰੁ ਬਾਲਹਾ ਮਾਨ ਸਰੋਵਰ ਹੰਸੁਲਾ ॥
chakvee ka-o jaisay soor baalhaa maan sarovar hansulaa.
As the sun is dear to the chakvi (shelduck), and the lake Maan Sarovar is dear to the swan,
ਜਿਵੇਂ ਚਕਵੀ ਨੂੰ ਸੂਰਜ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ; ਜਿਵੇਂ ਹੰਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਨਸਰੋਵਰ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ;
ਜਿਉ ਤਰੁਣੀ ਕਉ ਕੰਤੁ ਬਾਲਹਾ ਤਿਉ ਮੇਰੈ ਮਨਿ ਰਾਮਈਆ ॥੩॥
ji-o tarunee ka-o kant baalhaa ti-o mayrai man raam-ee-aa. ||3||
and the husband is dear to a young bride, so is God to my mind. ||3||
ਜਿਵੇਂ ਜੁਆਨ ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਨੂੰ (ਆਪਣਾ) ਖਸਮ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਿਵੇਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਸੋਹਣਾ ਰਾਮ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਬਾਰਿਕ ਕਉ ਜੈਸੇ ਖੀਰੁ ਬਾਲਹਾ ਚਾਤ੍ਰਿਕ ਮੁਖ ਜੈਸੇ ਜਲਧਰਾ ॥
baarik ka-o jaisay kheer baalhaa chaatrik mukh jaisay jalDharaa.
As milk is dear to the baby, and the raindrop is dear to the mouth of the rainbird,
ਜਿਵੇਂ ਬਾਲਕ ਨੂੰ ਦੁੱਧ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਵੇਂ ਪਪੀਹੇ ਦੇ ਮੂੰਹ ਨੂੰ ਬੱਦਲ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਮਛੁਲੀ ਕਉ ਜੈਸੇ ਨੀਰੁ ਬਾਲਹਾ ਤਿਉ ਮੇਰੈ ਮਨਿ ਰਾਮਈਆ ॥੪॥
machhulee ka-o jaisay neer baalhaa ti-o mayrai man raam-ee-aa. ||4||
and as water is dear to the fish, so is God to my mind. ||4||
ਮੱਛੀ ਨੂੰ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਪਾਣੀ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਿਵੇਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਸੋਹਣਾ ਰਾਮ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੪॥
ਸਾਧਿਕ ਸਿਧ ਸਗਲ ਮੁਨਿ ਚਾਹਹਿ ਬਿਰਲੇ ਕਾਹੂ ਡੀਠੁਲਾ ॥
saaDhik siDh sagal mun chaaheh birlay kaahoo deethulaa.
All the adepts, men of miracles, and all sages want to see the sight of God, but only a very rare person sees Him with his spiritually enlightened eyes.
(ਜੋਗ) ਸਾਧਨਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ, (ਜੋਗ-ਸਾਧਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ) ਪੁੱਗੇ ਹੋਏ ਜੋਗੀ ਤੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਮੁਨੀ (ਸੋਹਣੇ ਰਾਮ ਦਾ ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਕਰਨਾ) ਚਾਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਪਰ ਕਿਸੇ ਵਿਰਲੇ ਨੂੰ ਦੀਦਾਰ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ;
ਸਗਲ ਭਵਣ ਤੇਰੋ ਨਾਮੁ ਬਾਲਹਾ ਤਿਉ ਨਾਮੇ ਮਨਿ ਬੀਠੁਲਾ ॥੫॥੩॥
sagal bhavan tayro naam baalhaa ti-o naamay man beethulaa. ||5||3||
O’ God, just as Your Name is dear to the beings of all the worlds, similarly You are dear to the mind of Your devotee Namdev. ||5||3||
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਰਾਮ! ਜਿਵੇਂ) ਸਾਰੇ ਭਵਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਹੈ, ਤਿਵੇਂ ਹੀ ਮੈਂ ਨਾਮੇ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਭੀ ਤੂੰ ਬੀਠੁਲ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਹੈਂ ॥੫॥੩॥
ਪਹਿਲ ਪੁਰੀਏ ਪੁੰਡਰਕ ਵਨਾ ॥
pahil puree-ay pundrak vanaa.
First of all, when this universe came into existence, it was like a garden of beautiful white lotuses.
ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਪਹਿਲ (ਜੋ ਜਗਤ ਬਣਿਆ ਹੈ ਉਹ, ਮਾਨੋ) ਕੌਲ ਫੁੱਲਾਂ ਦਾ ਖੇਤ ਸੀ
ਤਾ ਚੇ ਹੰਸਾ ਸਗਲੇ ਜਨਾਂ ॥
taa chay hansaa saglay janaaN.
All beings are like the swans of this garden.
ਸਾਰੇ ਜੀਅ ਜੰਤ ਉਸ (ਕੌਲ ਫੁੱਲਾਂ ਦੇ ਖੇਤ) ਦੇ ਹੰਸ ਹਨ।
ਕ੍ਰਿਸ੍ਨਾ ਤੇ ਜਾਨਊ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਚੰਤੀ ਨਾਚਨਾ ॥੧॥
krisnaa tay jaan-oo har har naachantee naachnaa. ||1||
know that, this creation of God is dancing to His tune. ||1||
ਪ੍ਰੇਰਕ ਹਰੀ ਤੋਂ ਜਾਣ ਲਓ ਨੱਚ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ ਹਰੀ ਦੀ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ॥੧॥
ਪਹਿਲ ਪੁਰਸਾਬਿਰਾ ॥
pahil pursaabiraa.
First of all, God, the primal being became manifest.
ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਪੁਰਸ਼ (ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ) ਪਰਗਟ ਹੋਇਆ
ਅਥੋਨ ਪੁਰਸਾਦਮਰਾ ॥
athon pursaadmaraa.
From that Primal Being, this universe came into existence.
ਫਿਰ ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਤੋਂ ਮਾਇਆ (ਕੁਦਰਤ) ਬਣੀ l
ਅਸਗਾ ਅਸ ਉਸਗਾ ॥
asgaa as usgaa.
All that is here belongs to Him.
ਹਰ ਚੀਜ਼ ਓਸ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਬਾਗਰਾ ਨਾਚੈ ਪਿੰਧੀ ਮਹਿ ਸਾਗਰਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
har kaa baagraa naachai pinDhee meh saagraa. ||1|| rahaa-o.
In this Garden of God, beings dance (run after Maya), like water in the pots of the Persian wheel. ||1||Pause||
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਇਸ ਬਾਗ ਅੰਦਰ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ਖੂਹ ਦੀਆਂ ਟਿੰਡਾਂ ਵਿਚਲੇ ਪਾਣੀ ਦੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੱਚ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ l(ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਹੱਥਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਨੱਚ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ) ੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਨਾਚੰਤੀ ਗੋਪੀ ਜੰਨਾ ॥
naachantee gopee jannaa.
Women and men are dancing. (running after Maya)
ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀਆਂ ਮਰਦ ਸਭ ਨੱਚ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ,
ਨਈਆ ਤੇ ਬੈਰੇ ਕੰਨਾ ॥
na-ee-aa tay bairay kanna.
But among these, there is none other than God (God is pervading in all)
ਪਰ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਸਭਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਕੋਈ ਹੋਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਨੱਚ ਰਇਆ l
ਤਰਕੁ ਨ ਚਾ ॥ ਭ੍ਰਮੀਆ ਚਾ ॥
tarak na chaa. bharmee-aa chaa.
Don’t dispute this and cast away your doubt.
ਇਸ ਵਿਚ ਸ਼ੱਕ ਨਾ ਕਰ, ਭਰਮ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਦੇਹ।
ਕੇਸਵਾ ਬਚਉਨੀ ਅਈਏ ਮਈਏ ਏਕ ਆਨ ਜੀਉ ॥੨॥
kaysvaa bach-unee a-ee-ay ma-ee-ay ayk aan jee-o. ||2||
God says, He and this creation are one and the same. ||2||
ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦਾ ਇਹ ਬਚਨ ਹੈ ਕਿ “ਇਹ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਕੇਵਲ ਇੱਕ ਸਮਾਨ ਹਾਂ।”
