ਤਾਣੁ ਮਾਣੁ ਦੀਬਾਣੁ ਸਾਚਾ ਨਾਨਕ ਕੀ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਟੇਕ ॥੪॥੨॥੨੦॥
taan maan deebaan saachaa naanak kee parabh tayk. ||4||2||20||
O’ Nanak, God’s refuge is their only strength, respect, and everlasting support. ||4||2||20||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਆਖ-) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਓਟ ਹੀ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਬਲ ਹੈ, ਸਹਾਰਾ ਹੈ, ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਹੈ ॥੪॥੨॥੨੦॥

Raag Dhanasri, Fifth Guru:
ਫਿਰਤ ਫਿਰਤ ਭੇਟੇ ਜਨ ਸਾਧੂ ਪੂਰੈ ਗੁਰਿ ਸਮਝਾਇਆ ॥
firat firat bhaytay jan saaDhoo poorai gur samjhaa-i-aa.
Wandering around when I met the saint-Guru, then the Perfect Guru made me understand;
ਭਾਲ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਜਦੋਂ ਮੈਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਹਾ ਪੁਰਖ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਿਆ, ਤਾਂ ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ (ਮੈਨੂੰ) ਇਹ ਸਮਝ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ੀ,
ਆਨ ਸਗਲ ਬਿਧਿ ਕਾਂਮਿ ਨ ਆਵੈ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇਆ ॥੧॥
aan sagal biDh kaaNm na aavai har har naam Dhi-aa-i-aa. ||1||
that meditation on God’s Name is the only way of getting rid of the worldly bond, and all other rituals, such as pilgrimages, fasting etc do not prove useful. ||1||
ਕਿ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਣ ਲਈ ਹੋਰ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਜੁਗਤੀਆਂ ਕੰਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਂਦੀਆਂ,ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੀ ਕੰਮ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਤਾ ਤੇ ਮੋਹਿ ਧਾਰੀ ਓਟ ਗੋਪਾਲ ॥
taa tay mohi Dhaaree ot gopaal.
For this reason, I have put my faith in the protection of God.
ਇਸ ਵਾਸਤੇ, ਮੈਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਲੈ ਲਿਆ।
ਸਰਨਿ ਪਰਿਓ ਪੂਰਨ ਪਰਮੇਸੁਰ ਬਿਨਸੇ ਸਗਲ ਜੰਜਾਲ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
saran pari-o pooran parmaysur binsay sagal janjaal. rahaa-o.
All my worldly entanglements vanished when I came to the supreme God’s refuge. ||Pause||
ਜਦੋਂ ਮੈ ਸਰਬ-ਵਿਆਪਕ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪਿਆ, ਤਾਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਾਰੇ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ) ਜੰਜਾਲ ਨਾਸ ਹੋ ਗਏ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ॥
ਸੁਰਗ ਮਿਰਤ ਪਇਆਲ ਭੂ ਮੰਡਲ ਸਗਲ ਬਿਆਪੇ ਮਾਇ ॥
surag mirat pa-i-aal bhoo mandal sagal bi-aapay maa-ay.
The Maya (worldly entanglements) has afflicted heaven, earth, nether regions and other planets.
ਦੇਵ ਲੋਕ, ਮਾਤ-ਲੋਕ, ਪਾਤਾਲ-ਸਾਰੀ ਹੀ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਵਿਚ ਫਸੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ।
ਜੀਅ ਉਧਾਰਨ ਸਭ ਕੁਲ ਤਾਰਨ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇ ॥੨॥
jee-a uDhaaran sabh kul taaran har har naam Dhi-aa-ay. ||2||
To save your soul from the worldly entanglements and to emancipate all our lineage, always meditate on God’s Name. ||2||
ਸਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਿਆ ਕਰ, ਇਹੀ ਹੈ ਜਿੰਦ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਬਚਾਣ ਵਾਲਾ, ਇਹੀ ਹੈ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਕੁਲਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤਾਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ॥੨॥
ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਰੰਜਨੁ ਗਾਈਐ ਪਾਈਐ ਸਰਬ ਨਿਧਾਨਾ ॥
naanak naam niranjan gaa-ee-ai paa-ee-ai sarab niDhaanaa.
O’ Nanak, all the treasures of the world are attained by singing the praises of the immaculate God.
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਮਾਇਆ ਤੋਂ ਨਿਰਲੇਪ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਗਾਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ, (ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ) ਸਾਰੇ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤੀ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ,
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਜਿਸੁ ਦੇਇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਬਿਰਲੇ ਕਾਹੂ ਜਾਨਾ ॥੩॥੩॥੨੧॥
kar kirpaa jis day-ay su-aamee birlay kaahoo jaanaa. ||3||3||21||
But only a rare person, on whom God shows His grace and blesses Naam, comes to understands this secret ||3||3||21||
ਪਰ ਇਹ ਭੇਤ ਕਿਸੇਵਿਰਲੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਸਮਝਿਆ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਦਾਤਿ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥੩॥੨੧॥

ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥
ik-oNkaar satgur parsaad.
One eternal God, realized by the grace of the true Guru:
ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਛੋਡਿ ਜਾਹਿ ਸੇ ਕਰਹਿ ਪਰਾਲ ॥
chhod jaahi say karahi paraal.
People gather useless things which they leave here and depart from this world.
ਜੀਵ ਉਹ ਬਿਨਸਣਹਾਰ ਵਸਤਾਂ ਇਕੱਤਰ ਕਰਦੇਹਨ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖ਼ਰ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਇਥੋਂ ਚਲੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਕਾਮਿ ਨ ਆਵਹਿ ਸੇ ਜੰਜਾਲ ॥
kaam na aavahi say janjaal.
They remain involved in those worldly entanglements, which are of no use.
ਉਹੀ ਜੰਜਾਲ ਸਹੇੜੀ ਰੱਖਦੇ ਹਨ, ਜੇਹੜੇ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਕੰਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਂਦੇ।
ਸੰਗਿ ਨ ਚਾਲਹਿ ਤਿਨ ਸਿਉ ਹੀਤ ॥
sang na chaaleh tin si-o heet.
They remain in love with those who don’t accompany them at the end.
ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਮੋਹ-ਪਿਆਰ ਬਣਾਈ ਰੱਖਦੇ ਹਨ, ਜੇਹੜੇ (ਅੰਤ ਵੇਲੇ) ਨਾਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਂਦੇ।
ਜੋ ਬੈਰਾਈ ਸੇਈ ਮੀਤ ॥੧॥
jo bairaa-ee say-ee meet. ||1||
They deem enemies (lust, anger, greed, attachment, and ego) as friends. ||1||
ਉਹ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿੱਤਰ ਸਮਝਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਜੋ ਅਸਲ ਵਿਚਵੈਰੀ ਹਨ ॥੧॥
ਐਸੇ ਭਰਮਿ ਭੁਲੇ ਸੰਸਾਰਾ ॥
aisay bharam bhulay sansaaraa.
The entire world is lost in so much delusion,
ਮੂਰਖ ਜਗਤ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ) ਭਟਕਣਾ ਵਿਚ ਪੈ ਕੇ ਅਜੇ ਕੁਰਾਹੇ ਪਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ,
ਜਨਮੁ ਪਦਾਰਥੁ ਖੋਇ ਗਵਾਰਾ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
janam padaarath kho-ay gavaaraa. rahaa-o.
that the ignorant mortal is wasting his precious human life in vain. ||Pause||
ਕਿ ਬੇਸਮਝ ਬੰਦਾ ਆਪਣਾ ਕੀਮਤੀ ਮਨੁੱਖਾ ਜਨਮ ਗਵਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਰਹਾਉ॥
ਸਾਚੁ ਧਰਮੁ ਨਹੀ ਭਾਵੈ ਡੀਠਾ ॥
saach Dharam nahee bhaavai deethaa.
He doesn’t like evento encounter truth and righteousness.
ਉਸਨੂੰ ਸੱਚ ਅਤੇ ਧਰਮ ਅੱਖੀਂ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਭਾਉਂਦਾ।
ਝੂਠ ਧੋਹ ਸਿਉ ਰਚਿਓ ਮੀਠਾ ॥
jhooth Dhoh si-o rachi-o meethaa.
Deeming falsehood and deception as pleasing, he remains engrossed in these.
ਝੂਠ ਨੂੰ ਠੱਗੀ ਨੂੰ ਮਿੱਠਾ ਜਾਣ ਕੇ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਮਸਤ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਦਾਤਿ ਪਿਆਰੀ ਵਿਸਰਿਆ ਦਾਤਾਰਾ ॥
daat pi-aaree visri-aa daataaraa.
He loves the gifts but forgets the giver (God).
ਦਾਤਾਰ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਭੁਲਾਈ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੋਈ ਦਾਤ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰੀ ਲੱਗਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਜਾਣੈ ਨਾਹੀ ਮਰਣੁ ਵਿਚਾਰਾ ॥੨॥
jaanai naahee maran vichaaraa. ||2||
The wretched creature does not even think of death. ||2||
(ਮੋਹ ਵਿਚ) ਬੇਬਸ ਹੋਇਆ ਜੀਵ ਆਪਣੀ ਮੌਤ ਨੂੰ ਚੇਤੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ ॥੨॥
ਵਸਤੁ ਪਰਾਈ ਕਉ ਉਠਿ ਰੋਵੈ ॥
vasat paraa-ee ka-o uth rovai.
He struggles for the thing which (ultimately is going to) belong to others,
ਉਸ ਚੀਜ਼ ਲਈ ਦੌੜ ਦੌੜ ਤਰਲੇ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਆਖ਼ਰ ਬਿਗਾਨੀ ਹੋ ਜਾਣੀ ਹੈ।
ਕਰਮ ਧਰਮ ਸਗਲਾ ਈ ਖੋਵੈ ॥
karam Dharam saglaa ee khovai.
and forgets his humanly duty of righteous deeds.
ਆਪਣਾ ਇਨਸਾਨੀ ਫ਼ਰਜ਼ ਸਾਰਾ ਹੀ ਭੁਲਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਹੁਕਮੁ ਨ ਬੂਝੈ ਆਵਣ ਜਾਣੇ ॥
hukam na boojhai aavan jaanay.
He does not understand God’s will and continues in the rounds of birth and death
ਉਹ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਰਜ਼ਾ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਮਝਦਾ ਤੇ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਦੇ ਗੇੜਵਿੱਚ ਫਸਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ
ਪਾਪ ਕਰੈ ਤਾ ਪਛੋਤਾਣੇ ॥੩॥
paap karai taa pachhotaanay. ||3||
He keeps committing sins and regrets in the end. ||3||
ਉਹਪਾਪ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਆਖ਼ਰ ਪਛੁਤਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਜੋ ਤੁਧੁ ਭਾਵੈ ਸੋ ਪਰਵਾਣੁ ॥
jo tuDh bhaavai so parvaan.
O’ God, whatever pleases You is acceptable to me.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਜੋ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹੀ ਅਸਾਂ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਬੂਲ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਤੇਰੇ ਭਾਣੇ ਨੋ ਕੁਰਬਾਣੁ ॥
tayray bhaanay no kurbaan.
I dedicate myself to Your will.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਮਰਜ਼ੀ ਤੋਂ ਸਦਕੇ ਹਾਂ।
ਨਾਨਕੁ ਗਰੀਬੁ ਬੰਦਾ ਜਨੁ ਤੇਰਾ ॥
naanak gareeb bandaa jan tayraa.
Humble Nanak is Your devotee and servant.
ਗਰੀਬ ਨਾਨਕ ਤੇਰਾ ਦਾਸ ਹੈ ਤੇਰਾ ਗ਼ੁਲਾਮ ਹੈ।
ਰਾਖਿ ਲੇਇ ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਮੇਰਾ ॥੪॥੧॥੨੨॥
raakh lay-ay saahib parabh mayraa. ||4||1||22||
My Master-God protects the honor of His devotee. ||4||1||22||
ਮੇਰਾ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪਣੇ ਦਾਸ ਦੀ ਲਾਜ ਆਪ ਰੱਖ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੪॥੧॥੨੨॥

ਮੋਹਿ ਮਸਕੀਨ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਅਧਾਰੁ ॥
mohi maskeen parabh naam aDhaar.
The Name of God is the only Support for me, the humble one,
ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਜਿਜ਼ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ (ਹੀ) ਆਸਰਾ ਹੈ,
ਖਾਟਣ ਕਉ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਰੋਜਗਾਰੁ ॥
khaatan ka-o har har rojgaar.
and meditation on God’s Name is the way to earn my spiritual sustenance.
ਮੇਰੇ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਖੱਟਣ ਕਮਾਣ ਲਈ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਹੀ ਰੋਜ਼ੀ ਹੈ।
ਸੰਚਣ ਕਉ ਹਰਿ ਏਕੋ ਨਾਮੁ ॥
sanchan ka-o har ayko naam.
For me God’s Name is the only one thing to amass,
ਮੇਰੇ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਇਕੱਠਾ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ (ਭੀ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਹੀ ਹੈ।
ਹਲਤਿ ਪਲਤਿ ਤਾ ਕੈ ਆਵੈ ਕਾਮ ॥੧॥
halat palat taa kai aavai kaam. ||1||
so that it may be of use both in this and the next world. ||1||
ਤਾ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਨਾਮ ਲੋਕ ਤੇ ਪਰਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ ਮੇਰੇ ਕੰਮ ਆਵੇ॥੧॥
ਨਾਮਿ ਰਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਰੰਗਿ ਅਪਾਰ ॥
naam ratay parabh rang apaar.
Imbued with the unlimited Love of God’s Name,
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੰਗੇ ਹੋਏ,
ਸਾਧ ਗਾਵਹਿ ਗੁਣ ਏਕ ਨਿਰੰਕਾਰ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
saaDh gaavahi gun ayk nirankaar. rahaa-o.
the saintly people keep singing praises of the one formless God. ||Pause||
ਸੰਤ ਜਨ ਇੱਕ ਨਿਰੰਕਾਰ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਂਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ॥
ਸਾਧ ਕੀ ਸੋਭਾ ਅਤਿ ਮਸਕੀਨੀ ॥
saaDh kee sobhaa at maskeenee.
The glory of the holy saints lies in their extreme humility.
ਬਹੁਤ ਨਿਮ੍ਰਤਾ-ਸੁਭਾਉ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੀ ਸੰਤਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੋਭਾ ਹੈ,
ਸੰਤ ਵਡਾਈ ਹਰਿ ਜਸੁ ਚੀਨੀ ॥
sant vadaa-ee har jas cheenee.
The saintly people are honored because they have understood the way to praise God.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕਰਨੀ ਹੀ ਸੰਤ ਦੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ (ਦਾ ਕਾਰਨ) ਹੈ।
ਅਨਦੁ ਸੰਤਨ ਕੈ ਭਗਤਿ ਗੋਵਿੰਦ ॥
anad santan kai bhagat govind.
The devotional worship of God produces bliss in the heart of saints.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਆਨੰਦ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਸੂਖੁ ਸੰਤਨ ਕੈ ਬਿਨਸੀ ਚਿੰਦ ॥੨॥
sookh santan kai binsee chind. ||2||
All anxieties of the saints vanish and they always dwell in spiritual peace. ||2||
ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਸੁਖ ਬਣਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਨਾਸ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਜਹ ਸਾਧ ਸੰਤਨ ਹੋਵਹਿ ਇਕਤ੍ਰ ॥
jah saaDh santan hoveh ikatar.
Wherever the holy saints get together,
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਸਾਧ ਸੰਤ ਜਿੱਥੇ (ਭੀ) ਇਕੱਠੇ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ,
ਤਹ ਹਰਿ ਜਸੁ ਗਾਵਹਿ ਨਾਦ ਕਵਿਤ ॥
tah har jas gaavahi naad kavit.
there they play the musical instruments and sing the hymns of God’s Praises.
ਉਥੇ ਉਹ ਸਾਜ ਵਰਤ ਕੇ ਬਾਣੀ ਪੜ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦਾ ਗੀਤ (ਹੀ) ਗਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਸਾਧ ਸਭਾ ਮਹਿ ਅਨਦ ਬਿਸ੍ਰਾਮ ॥
saaDh sabhaa meh anad bisraam.
In the society of saintly people, one finds peace of mind and bliss.
ਸੰਤਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਬੈਠਿਆਂ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਹਾਸਲ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਉਨ ਸੰਗੁ ਸੋ ਪਾਏ ਜਿਸੁ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਕਰਾਮ ॥੩॥
un sang so paa-ay jis mastak karaam. ||3||
But only those obtain their company who are destined for God’s grace. ||3||
ਪਰ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਉਹੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਮੱਥੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਸ਼ (ਦਾ ਲੇਖ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੋਵੇ) ॥੩॥
ਦੁਇ ਕਰ ਜੋੜਿ ਕਰੀ ਅਰਦਾਸਿ ॥
du-ay kar jorh karee ardaas.
With folded hands, I offer my prayer,
ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਹੱਥ ਜੋੜ ਕੇ ਅਰਦਾਸ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ,
ਚਰਨ ਪਖਾਰਿ ਕਹਾਂ ਗੁਣਤਾਸ ॥
charan pakhaar kahaaN guntaas.
that I may serve the saintly people with utmost humility and keep reciting the Name of God, the treasure of virtues.
ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨ ਧੋ ਕੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦੇ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਉਚਾਰਦਾ ਰਹਾਂ।
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਦਇਆਲ ਕਿਰਪਾਲ ਹਜੂਰਿ ॥
parabh da-i-aal kirpaal hajoor.
Those who always remain in the presence of merciful and compassionate God,
ਜੇਹੜੇ ਦਇਆਲ ਕਿਰਪਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਹਜ਼ੂਰੀ ਵਿਚ (ਸਦਾ ਟਿਕੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ)
ਨਾਨਕੁ ਜੀਵੈ ਸੰਤਾ ਧੂਰਿ ॥੪॥੨॥੨੩॥
naanak jeevai santaa Dhoor. ||4||2||23||
Nanak spiritually survives by performing their most humble service. ||4||2||23||
ਨਾਨਕ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਧੂੜ ਤੋਂ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੪॥੨॥੨੩॥
