ਰਾਜੁ ਤੇਰਾ ਕਬਹੁ ਨ ਜਾਵੈ ॥
raaj tayraa kabahu na jaavai.
Your rule never ends.
ਤੇਰਾ ਰਾਜ ਕਦੇ ਭੀ ਨਾਸ ਹੋਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ।
ਰਾਜੋ ਤ ਤੇਰਾ ਸਦਾ ਨਿਹਚਲੁ ਏਹੁ ਕਬਹੁ ਨ ਜਾਵਏ ॥
raajo ta tayraa sadaa nihchal ayhu kabahu na jaav-ay.
Your Kingdom is Eternal and it can never end.
ਤੇਰਾ ਰਾਜ ਸਦਾ ਅਟੱਲ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਇਹ ਕਦੇ ਭੀ ਨਾਸ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ ਸਕਦਾ।
ਚਾਕਰੁ ਤ ਤੇਰਾ ਸੋਇ ਹੋਵੈ ਜੋਇ ਸਹਜਿ ਸਮਾਵਏ ॥
chaakar ta tayraa so-ay hovai jo-ay sahj samaav-ay.
But only that person becomes Your devotee, who remains merged in a state of peace and poise.
ਉਹੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਤੇਰਾ ਅਸਲ ਭਗਤ-ਸੇਵਕ ਹੈ ਜੋ (ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰ ਕੇ) ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਦੁਸਮਨੁ ਤ ਦੂਖੁ ਨ ਲਗੈ ਮੂਲੇ ਪਾਪੁ ਨੇੜਿ ਨ ਆਵਏ ॥
dusman ta dookh na lagai moolay paap nayrh na aav-ay.
No one becomes his enemy, no suffering afflicts him and no sin comes close to him.
ਕੋਈ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਵੈਰੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਬਣਦਾ, ਕੋਈ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਦੁੱਖ ਨਹੀਂ ਲਗਦਾ ਤੇ ਕੋਈ ਪਾਪ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਢੁਕਦਾ।
ਹਉ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ਸਦਾ ਹੋਵਾ ਏਕ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਵਏ ॥੪॥
ha-o balihaaree sadaa hovaa ayk tayray naav-ay. ||4||
I am forever dedicated to Your Naam only ||4||
ਮੈਂ ਸਦਾ ਤੇਰੇ ਹੀ ਇਕ ਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਸਦਕੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ ॥੪॥
ਜੁਗਹ ਜੁਗੰਤਰਿ ਭਗਤ ਤੁਮਾਰੇ ॥
jugah jugantar bhagat tumaaray.
O’ God, throughout the ages, there have been Your devotees,
(ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ!) ਹਰੇਕ ਜੁਗ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਤੇਰੇ ਭਗਤ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ।
ਕੀਰਤਿ ਕਰਹਿ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਤੇਰੈ ਦੁਆਰੇ ॥
keerat karahi su-aamee tayrai du-aaray.
who stand in Your presence and sing in Your praise.
ਜੋ, ਹੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ! ਤੇਰੇ ਦਰ ਤੇ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਜਪਹਿ ਤ ਸਾਚਾ ਏਕੁ ਮੁਰਾਰੇ ॥
jaapeh ta saachaa ayk muraaray.
They meditate on the One True God.
ਜੋ ਸਦਾ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਮਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਸਾਚਾ ਮੁਰਾਰੇ ਤਾਮਿ ਜਾਪਹਿ ਜਾਮਿ ਮੰਨਿ ਵਸਾਵਹੇ ॥
saachaa muraaray taam jaapeh jaam man vasaavhay.
But they can only meditate on the Eternal God, if You enshrine Your Name in their minds,
ਤੈਨੂੰ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਤਦੋਂ ਹੀ ਜਪ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਨ ਜਦੋਂ ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਆਪਣਾ ਨਾਮ ਵਸਾਂਦਾ ਹੈਂ,
ਭਰਮੋ ਭੁਲਾਵਾ ਤੁਝਹਿ ਕੀਆ ਜਾਮਿ ਏਹੁ ਚੁਕਾਵਹੇ ॥
bharmo bhulaavaa tujheh kee-aa jaam ayhu chukaavhay.
and when You Yourself remove the doubt which You have created in their mind.
ਤੇ ਜਦੋਂ ਤੂੰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਮਾਇਆ ਵਾਲੀ ਭਟਕਣਾ ਦੂਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈਂ ਜੋ ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ।
ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਕਰਹੁ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਲੇਹੁ ਜਮਹੁ ਉਬਾਰੇ ॥
gur parsaadee karahu kirpaa layho jamahu ubaaray.
Then through Guru’s Grace, You show mercy and protect them from the demons of death.
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਭਗਤਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਮਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈਂ।
ਜੁਗਹ ਜੁਗੰਤਰਿ ਭਗਤ ਤੁਮਾਰੇ ॥੫॥
jugah jugantar bhagat tumaaray. ||5||
O’ God, Your devotees have been there throughout the ages. ||5||
ਹਰੇਕ ਜੁਗ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਤੇਰੇ ਭਗਤ-ਸੇਵਕ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ ॥੫॥
ਵਡੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਾਹਿਬਾ ਅਲਖ ਅਪਾਰਾ ॥
vaday mayray saahibaa alakh apaaraa.
O’ my Great Master, You are Infinite and Incomprehensible,
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਵੱਡੇ ਮਾਲਕ! ਹੇ ਅਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟ ਮਾਲਕ! ਹੇ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਮਾਲਕ!
ਕਿਉ ਕਰਿ ਕਰਉ ਬੇਨੰਤੀ ਹਉ ਆਖਿ ਨ ਜਾਣਾ ॥
ki-o kar kara-o baynantee ha-o aakh na jaanaa.
I do not know how I may make my submission, since I don’t even know what to say.
ਮੈਂ (ਤੇਰੇ ਦਰ ਤੇ) ਕਿਵੇਂ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰਾਂ? ਮੈਨੂੰ ਤਾਂ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰਨੀ ਭੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਂਦੀ।
ਨਦਰਿ ਕਰਹਿ ਤਾ ਸਾਚੁ ਪਛਾਣਾ ॥
nadar karahi taa saach pachhaanaa.
If You bless me with Your Grace, only then I can realize Your true Naam.
ਜੇ ਤੂੰ ਆਪ (ਮੇਰੇ ਉਤੇ) ਮੇਹਰ ਦੀ ਨਿਗਾਹ ਕਰੇਂ ਤਾਂ ਹੀ ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਨਾਮ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਂਝ ਪਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
ਸਾਚੋ ਪਛਾਣਾ ਤਾਮਿ ਤੇਰਾ ਜਾਮਿ ਆਪਿ ਬੁਝਾਵਹੇ ॥
saacho pachhaanaa taam tayraa jaam aap bujhaavhay.
I can realize Your Eternal Naam only when You Yourself bestow on me the insight,
ਤੇਰਾ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਨਾਮ ਮੈਂ ਤਦੋਂ ਹੀ ਪਛਾਣ ਸਕਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਜਦੋਂ ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਸੂਝ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ੇਂ।
ਦੂਖ ਭੂਖ ਸੰਸਾਰਿ ਕੀਏ ਸਹਸਾ ਏਹੁ ਚੁਕਾਵਹੇ ॥
dookh bhookh sansaar kee-ay sahsaa ayhu chukaavhay.
and when You remove this doubt that it is You, who has created all the pains and pleasures in the world.
ਜਦੋਂ ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ ਤ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨਾ ਅਤੇ ਦੁੱਖਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਹਿਮ ਦੂਰ ਕਰੇਂ ਜੇਹੜੇ ਕਿ ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ।
ਬਿਨਵੰਤਿ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਜਾਇ ਸਹਸਾ ਬੁਝੈ ਗੁਰ ਬੀਚਾਰਾ ॥
binvant naanak jaa-ay sahsaa bujhai gur beechaaraa.
Nanak submits that one’s skepticism is vanished when one understands the discourse on the Guru’s hymns,
ਨਾਨਕ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਜਦੋਂ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਸਮਝਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਸਹਿਮ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਵਡਾ ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਹੈ ਆਪਿ ਅਲਖ ਅਪਾਰਾ ॥੬॥
vadaa saahib hai aap alakh apaaraa. ||6||
and realizes that Infinite and Incomprehensible God is the Great Master above us all. ||6||
ਅਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟ ਤੇ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ (ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦਾ) ਵੱਡਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੈ ॥੬॥
ਤੇਰੇ ਬੰਕੇ ਲੋਇਣ ਦੰਤ ਰੀਸਾਲਾ ॥
tayray bankay lo-in dant reesaalaa.
O’ God, Your eyes are youthful, and Your teeth are sparkling.
ਤੇਰੇ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਹਨ ਨੈਣ ਅਤੇ ਰਸੀਲੇ ਦੰਦ,
ਸੋਹਣੇ ਨਕ ਜਿਨ ਲੰਮੜੇ ਵਾਲਾ ॥
sohnay nak jin lammrhay vaalaa.
You have cute nose, and long hair.
ਨਕ ਸੁਨੱਖਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਲੰਮੇ ਕੇਸ।
ਕੰਚਨ ਕਾਇਆ ਸੁਇਨੇ ਕੀ ਢਾਲਾ ॥
kanchan kaa-i-aa su-inay kee dhaalaa.
Your body is so healthy and superb, as if it has been molded in gold.
ਸਰੀਰ ਸੋਨੇ ਵਰਗਾ ਸੁੱਧ ਅਰੋਗ ਹੈ,
ਸੋਵੰਨ ਢਾਲਾ ਕ੍ਰਿਸਨ ਮਾਲਾ ਜਪਹੁ ਤੁਸੀ ਸਹੇਲੀਹੋ ॥
sovann dhaalaa krisan maalaa japahu tusee sahayleeho.
O’ my dear friends, you should worship That God Who is wearing a rosary made of gold, like that of god Krishna.
ਸੋਨੇ ਦੀ ਬਣੀ ਹੋਈ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ-ਮਾਲਾ ਕੋਲ ਹੈ। ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਸ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ) ਦਾ ਆਰਾਧਨ ਕਰੋ, ਹੇ ਮੇਰੀਓ ਸਖੀਓ!
ਜਮ ਦੁਆਰਿ ਨ ਹੋਹੁ ਖੜੀਆ ਸਿਖ ਸੁਣਹੁ ਮਹੇਲੀਹੋ ॥
jam du-aar na hohu kharhee-aa sikh sunhu mahayleeho.
O’ my friends, if you listen to this advice of mine, and you will never have to stand at the door of demon of death.
ਇੰਜ ਤੁਸੀਂ (ਅੰਤ ਵੇਲੇ) ਜਮ-ਰਾਜ ਦੇ ਦਰਵਾਜ਼ੇ ਤੇ ਖੜੀਆਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਵੋਗੀਆਂ, ਮੇਰੀ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਸੁਣੋ; ਹੇ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀਓ!
ਹੰਸ ਹੰਸਾ ਬਗ ਬਗਾ ਲਹੈ ਮਨ ਕੀ ਜਾਲਾ ॥
hans hansaa bag bagaa lahai man kee jaalaa.
Thus by meditating on God, the dirt of one’s mind gets washed off, and even the most hypocritical persons like cranes become pure like the swans.
ਇੰਜ (ਨਾਮ-ਸਿਮਰਨ ਨਾਲ) ਮਨ ਤੋਂ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਮੈਲ ਲਹਿ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਤੇ ਪਰਮ ਬਗਲੇ ਤੋਂ ਸ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਟ ਹੰਸ ਬਣ ਜਾਈਦਾ ਹੈ (ਭਾਵ, ਨੀਚ-ਜੀਵਨ ਤੋਂ ਉੱਚੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਗੁਰਮੁਖ ਬਣ ਜਾਈਦਾ ਹੈ)।
ਬੰਕੇ ਲੋਇਣ ਦੰਤ ਰੀਸਾਲਾ ॥੭॥
bankay lo-in dant reesaalaa. ||7||
His eyes are youthful, and His teeth are sparkling. ||7||
ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਹਨ ਨੈਣ ਅਤੇ ਰਸੀਲੇ ਦੰਦ ॥੭॥
ਤੇਰੀ ਚਾਲ ਸੁਹਾਵੀ ਮਧੁਰਾੜੀ ਬਾਣੀ ॥
tayree chaal suhaavee maDhuraarhee banee.
O’ God, graceful is Your gait, and melodious is Your speech,
ਸੁਹਣੀ ਹੈ ਤੇਰੀ ਟੋਰ ਅਤੇ ਮਿੱਠੜੀ ਤੇਰੀ ਬੋਲੀ।
ਕੁਹਕਨਿ ਕੋਕਿਲਾ ਤਰਲ ਜੁਆਣੀ ॥
kuhkan kokilaa taral ju-aanee.
as if songbirds are emitting their notes, and Your youthful beauty is alluring.
ਤੂੰ ਕੋਇਲ ਦੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਕੂਕਦਾ ਹੈਂ ਅਤੇ ਚੰਚਲ ਹੈ ਤੇਰੀ ਜੁਆਨੀ।
ਤਰਲਾ ਜੁਆਣੀ ਆਪਿ ਭਾਣੀ ਇਛ ਮਨ ਕੀ ਪੂਰੀਏ ॥
tarlaa ju-aanee aap bhaanee ichh man kee pooree-ay.
Your budding youth is pleasing to You and fulfills the heart’s desires.
ਤੇਰੀ ਚੜ੍ਹਦੀ ਜੁਆਨੀ ਮਨ-ਭਾਉਂਦੀ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀਆਂ ਖਾਹਿਸ਼ਾ ਪੂਰੀਆਂ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਸਾਰੰਗ ਜਿਉ ਪਗੁ ਧਰੈ ਠਿਮਿ ਠਿਮਿ ਆਪਿ ਆਪੁ ਸੰਧੂਰਏ ॥
saarang ji-o pag Dharai thim thim aap aap sanDhoora-ay.
Your gait is like that of an elephant, who steps his feet carefully and enjoys it as if intoxicated.
ਤੇਰੀ ਚਾਲ ਹੈ ਮਸਤ ਹਾਥੀ ਵਾਂਗ ਬੜੀ ਮਟਕ ਨਾਲ ਤੁਰਨ ਵਾਲੀ,
ਸ੍ਰੀਰੰਗ ਰਾਤੀ ਫਿਰੈ ਮਾਤੀ ਉਦਕੁ ਗੰਗਾ ਵਾਣੀ ॥
sareerang raatee firai maatee udak gangaa vaanee.
It is like the water of river Ganges, flowing at its steady speed, or like the roaming around of a lady intoxicated in love of the sublime Spouse-God.
ਜੋ ਆਪਣੇ ਸ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਟ ਕੰਤ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਨਾਲ ਰੰਗੀਜੀ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਮਤਵਾਲੀ ਹੋ ਗੰਗਾ ਦੇ ਪਾਣੀ ਵਾਗੂੰ ਫਿਰਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਬਿਨਵੰਤਿ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਦਾਸੁ ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਤੇਰੀ ਚਾਲ ਸੁਹਾਵੀ ਮਧੁਰਾੜੀ ਬਾਣੀ ॥੮॥੨॥
binvant naanak daas har kaa tayree chaal suhaavee maDhuraarhee banee. ||8||2||
Devotee Nanak prays, O’ God, Your gait is graceful and Your speech is melodious. ||8||2||
ਹਰੀ ਦਾ ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ, ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ, ਤੇਰੀ ਚਾਲ ਸੁਹਾਵਣੀ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਤੇਰੀ ਬੋਲੀ ਮਿੱਠੀ ਮਿੱਠੀ ਹੈ ॥੮॥੨॥

ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿਰ ਕੈ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਤੀ ਮੁਈਏ ਸੋਭਾਵੰਤੀ ਨਾਰੇ ॥
aapnay pir kai rang ratee mu-ee-ay sobhaavantee naaray.
O’ my honoured bride, who is imbued with the love of your Spouse-God,
ਹੇ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਵਲੋਂ ਅਛੋਹ ਹੋ ਚੁਕੀ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀਏ! ਤੂੰ ਸੋਭਾ ਵਾਲੀ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਹੈਂ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਤੀ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ-ਰੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਰੰਗੀ ਗਈ ਹੈਂ।
ਸਚੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਮਿਲਿ ਰਹੀ ਮੁਈਏ ਪਿਰੁ ਰਾਵੇ ਭਾਇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ॥
sachai sabad mil rahee mu-ee-ay pir raavay bhaa-ay pi-aaray.
by following the True hymns of the Guru, you are united with your Spouse-God, and are enjoying the company of your Spouse, with affection.
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਤੂੰ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈਂ, ਤੈਨੂੰ ਤੇਰੇ ਇਸ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਪਿਆਰ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਤੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਜੋੜੀ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਸਚੈ ਭਾਇ ਪਿਆਰੀ ਕੰਤਿ ਸਵਾਰੀ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਸਿਉ ਨੇਹੁ ਰਚਾਇਆ ॥
sachai bhaa-ay pi-aaree kant savaaree har har si-o nayhu rachaa-i-aa.
The bride-soul, who has imbued herself with Eternal God, and has instilled herself with the love of God, the Groom-God has embellished her life.
ਜੇਹੜੀ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਨੇ ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਵਿਚ ਪਿਆਰ ਪਾਇਆ, ਨੇਹੁ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤਾ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਤੀ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਸੋਹਣਾ ਬਣਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
ਆਪੁ ਗਵਾਇਆ ਤਾ ਪਿਰੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਸਮਾਇਆ ॥
aap gavaa-i-aa taa pir paa-i-aa gur kai sabad samaa-i-aa.
When she shed her conceit, she realized Spouse-God within herself, and through the Guru’s word, her mind got merged in God.
ਜਦੋਂ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਨੇ ਆਪਾ-ਭਾਵ ਦੂਰ ਕੀਤਾ, ਤਦੋਂ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਲੱਭ ਲਿਆ ਤੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਨਾਲ ਲੀਨ ਹੋ ਗਈ।
ਸਾ ਧਨ ਸਬਦਿ ਸੁਹਾਈ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਕਸਾਈ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਪਿਆਰੀ ॥
saa Dhan sabad suhaa-ee paraym kasaa-ee antar pareet pi-aaree.
That bride-soul, who is enticed by God’s love, is embellished by following the Guru’s hymns, and within her abides love for God.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਦੀ ਖਿੱਚੀ ਹੋਈ ਸੁਚੱਜੀ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਾਲੀ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਟਿਕੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਸਾ ਧਨ ਮੇਲਿ ਲਈ ਪਿਰਿ ਆਪੇ ਸਾਚੈ ਸਾਹਿ ਸਵਾਰੀ ॥੧॥
naanak saa Dhan mayl la-ee pir aapay saachai saahi savaaree. ||1||
O’ Nanak, the Spouse-God has Himself united her with Him, and the Eternal God has embellished her. ||1||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਇਹੋ ਜਿਹੀ ਸੁਚੱਜੀ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਤੀ ਨੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ, ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਸ਼ਾਹ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਸੰਵਾਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਨਿਰਗੁਣਵੰਤੜੀਏ ਪਿਰੁ ਦੇਖਿ ਹਦੂਰੇ ਰਾਮ ॥
nirgunvant-rhee-ay pir daykh hadooray raam.
O’ my virtueless bride, see your Spouse-God close at hand.
ਹੇ ਗੁਣ-ਹੀਣ ਜਿੰਦੇ! ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਗ-ਸੰਗ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਕਰ।
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਜਿਨੀ ਰਾਵਿਆ ਮੁਈਏ ਪਿਰੁ ਰਵਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਭਰਪੂਰੇ ਰਾਮ ॥
gurmukh jinee raavi-aa mu-ee-ay pir rav rahi-aa bharpooray raam.
O’ mortal bride-soul, whoever has meditated in the presence of God by following the teachings of the Guru, has realised that Spouse-God is fully pervading everywhere.
ਹੇ ਮੋਈ ਹੋਈ ਜਿੰਦੇ! ਜੋ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸਨਮੁੱਖ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪੱਤੀ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਪੂਰੇ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਦਿਖਦਾ ਹੈ।
