ਸੀਤਲੁ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਤਪਤਿ ਜਾਇ ॥੩॥
seetal har har naam simrat tapat jaa-ay. ||3||
That God’s Name is very soothing; the fire of worldly desires is quenched by meditating on Him. ||3||
ਉਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ (ਮਨ ਵਿਚ) ਠੰਢ ਪਾਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਿਆਂ (ਮਨ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਤ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨਾ ਦੀ) ਤਪਸ਼ ਬੁੱਝ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਸੂਖ ਸਹਜ ਆਨੰਦ ਘਣਾ ਨਾਨਕ ਜਨ ਧੂਰਾ ॥
sookh sahj aanand ghanaa naanak jan Dhooraa.
O’ Nanak, peace, poise and immense bliss is attained by humbly performing the service of God’s devotees.
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਧੂੜ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕਿਆ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਦੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਸੁਖ-ਆਨੰਦ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋਏ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਕਾਰਜ ਸਗਲੇ ਸਿਧਿ ਭਏ ਭੇਟਿਆ ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰਾ ॥੪॥੧੦॥੧੧੨॥
kaaraj saglay siDh bha-ay bhayti-aa gur pooraa. ||4||10||112||
One who meets the perfect Guru and follows his teachings, all his tasks are successfully resolved. ||4||10||112||
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਪੂਰਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਰੇ ਕੰਮਾਂ-ਕਾਜਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਸਫਲਤਾ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੪॥੧੦॥੧੧੨॥

Raag Aasaa, Fifth Guru:
ਗੋਬਿੰਦੁ ਗੁਣੀ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਜਾਣੀਐ ॥
gobind gunee niDhaan gurmukh jaanee-ai.
God, the treasure of virtues, can only be realized by following the Guru’s teachings.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਸਾਰੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਹੈ, ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਡੂੰਘੀ ਸਾਂਝ ਪਾਈ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ,
ਹੋਇ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲੁ ਦਇਆਲੁ ਹਰਿ ਰੰਗੁ ਮਾਣੀਐ ॥੧॥
ho-ay kirpaal da-i-aal har rang maanee-ai. ||1||
When the merciful God shows His kindness, we revel in His love ||1||
ਜੇ ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਇਆਵਾਨ ਹੋਵੇ ਤ੍ਰੁੱਠ ਪਏ ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ -ਆਨੰਦ ਮਾਣਿਆ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਆਵਹੁ ਸੰਤ ਮਿਲਾਹ ਹਰਿ ਕਥਾ ਕਹਾਣੀਆ ॥
aavhu sant milaah har kathaa kahaanee-aa.
O’ saintly persons, come, let us sit together and sing God’s praises.
ਹੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨੋ! ਆਓ, ਅਸੀਂ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਬੈਠੀਏ ਤੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕਰੀਏ,
ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਸਿਮਰਹ ਨਾਮੁ ਤਜਿ ਲਾਜ ਲੋਕਾਣੀਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
an-din simreh naam taj laaj lokaanee-aa. ||1|| rahaa-o.
We should always meditate on Naam without worrying about the sarcasm of others. ||1||Pause||
ਲੋਕ-ਲਾਜ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਦੇ ਰਹੀਏ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਜਪਿ ਜਪਿ ਜੀਵਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਹੋਵੈ ਅਨਦੁ ਘਣਾ ॥
jap jap jeevaa naam hovai anad ghanaa.
By continually meditating on Naam, I feel spiritually rejuvenated and experience immense bliss.
ਮੈਂ ਤਾਂ ਜਿਉਂ ਜਿਉਂ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ) ਨਾਮ ਜਪਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਮੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਬੜਾ ਆਨੰਦ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਮਿਥਿਆ ਮੋਹੁ ਸੰਸਾਰੁ ਝੂਠਾ ਵਿਣਸਣਾ ॥੨॥
mithi-aa moh sansaar jhoothaa vinsanaa. ||2||
The worldly love is false and it perishes in the end. ||2||
ਸੰਸਾਰ ਦਾ ਮੋਹ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਹੈ, ਸੰਸਾਰ ਤਾਂ ਨਾਸ ਹੋ ਜਾਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਚਰਣ ਕਮਲ ਸੰਗਿ ਨੇਹੁ ਕਿਨੈ ਵਿਰਲੈ ਲਾਇਆ ॥
charan kamal sang nayhu kinai virlai laa-i-aa.
Only a very rare person is attuned to the love of God’s Name.
ਕਿਸੇ ਵਿਰਲੇ (ਭਾਗਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ) ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਕੋਮਲ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਪਿਆਰ ਪਾਇਆ ਹੈ।
ਧੰਨੁ ਸੁਹਾਵਾ ਮੁਖੁ ਜਿਨਿ ਹਰਿ ਧਿਆਇਆ ॥੩॥
Dhan suhaavaa mukh jin har Dhi-aa-i-aa. ||3||
Blessed is the mouth and beautiful is the face of that person who meditates on God’s Name. ||3||
ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਿਆ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਮੂੰਹ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਮੂੰਹ ਸੋਹਣਾ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਜਨਮ ਮਰਣ ਦੁਖ ਕਾਲ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਮਿਟਿ ਜਾਵਈ ॥
janam maran dukh kaal simrat mit jaav-ee.
By meditating on Naam, pain of the rounds of birth and death ends.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਿਆਂ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਦੇ ਗੇੜ ਦਾ ਦੁੱਖ ਮਿਟ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਕੈ ਸੁਖੁ ਸੋਇ ਜੋ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਭਾਵਈ ॥੪॥੧੧॥੧੧੩॥
naanak kai sukh so-ay jo parabh bhaav-ee. ||4||11||113||
Whatever pleases God, brings peace in Nanak’s heart. ||4||11||113||
ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ, ਨਾਨਕ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਆਨੰਦ (ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰੀ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ) ॥੪॥੧੧॥੧੧੩॥

Raag Aasaa, Fifth Guru:
ਆਵਹੁ ਮੀਤ ਇਕਤ੍ਰ ਹੋਇ ਰਸ ਕਸ ਸਭਿ ਭੁੰਚਹ ॥
aavhu meet ikatar ho-ay ras kas sabh bhunchah.
O’ friends, come, let us meet together and meditate on Naam which is like relishing all the delicacies.
ਹੇ ਮਿੱਤਰੋ! ਆਓ, ਰਲ ਕੇ (ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਜਪੀਏ। ਇਹੀ ਹਨ ਮਾਨੋ) ਸਾਰੇ ਸੁਆਦਲੇ ਪਦਾਰਥ, ਆਓ, ਇਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਸੁਆਦਲੇ ਪਦਾਰਥ ਖਾਈਏ।
ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਨਾਮੁ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਜਪਹ ਮਿਲਿ ਪਾਪਾ ਮੁੰਚਹ ॥੧॥
amrit naam har har japah mil paapaa munchah. ||1||
Let us meditate upon God’s ambrosial Name and wipe away our sins. ||1||
ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਜਪੀਏ ਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਪਾਪ ਨਾਸ ਕਰ ਲਈਏ ॥੧॥
ਤਤੁ ਵੀਚਾਰਹੁ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਹੁ ਤਾ ਤੇ ਬਿਘਨੁ ਨ ਲਾਗੈ ॥
tat veechaarahu sant janhu taa tay bighan na laagai.
O’ saintly persons, if you reflect on the true purpose of human life, then you would suffer no impediment in your life’s journey,
ਹੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨੋ! ਇਹ ਸੋਚਿਆ ਕਰੋ ਕਿ ਮਨੁੱਖਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਦਾ ਅਸਲ ਮਨੋਰਥ ਕੀਹ ਹੈ, ਇਸ ਉੱਦਮ ਨਾਲ ਜੀਵਨ-ਸਫ਼ਰ ਵਿਚ ਕੋਈ ਰੁਕਾਵਟ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੈਂਦੀ,
ਖੀਨ ਭਏ ਸਭਿ ਤਸਕਰਾ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਜਨੁ ਜਾਗੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
kheen bha-ay sabh taskaraa gurmukh jan jaagai. ||1|| rahaa-o.
and all the thieves (vices) within the mind are annihilated, because a Guru’s follower remains awake to such thieves. ||1||Pause||
ਕਾਮਾਦਿਕ ਸਾਰੇ ਚੋਰ ਨਾਸ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪਿਆਂ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਚੋਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਹੱਲਿਆਂ ਵਲੋਂ ਸੁਚੇਤ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਬੁਧਿ ਗਰੀਬੀ ਖਰਚੁ ਲੈਹੁ ਹਉਮੈ ਬਿਖੁ ਜਾਰਹੁ ॥
buDh gareebee kharach laihu ha-umai bikh jaarahu.
Burn down the poison of ego and take with you wisdom and humility for your spiritual journey.
ਹੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨੋ! ਨਿਮ੍ਰਤਾ ਵਾਲੀ ਬੁੱਧੀ ਜੀਵਨ-ਸਫ਼ਰ ਦਾ ਖ਼ਰਚ ਪੱਲੇ ਬੰਨ੍ਹੋ। ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਹਉਮੈ ਨੂੰ ਸਾੜ ਦਿਉ ।
ਸਾਚਾ ਹਟੁ ਪੂਰਾ ਸਉਦਾ ਵਖਰੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਾਪਾਰਹੁ ॥੨॥
saachaa hat pooraa sa-udaa vakhar naam vaapaarahu. ||2||
The holy congregation is the true shop of the Guru, where you would get the perfect commodity of Naam. ||2||
ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਘਰ ਹੀ ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੱਟ ਹੈ ਗੁਰੂ-ਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਹੀ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਪੂਰਾ ਸੌਦਾ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ ਗੁਰੂ-ਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਨਾਮ-ਸੌਦਾ ਖ਼ਰੀਦੋ ॥੨॥
ਜੀਉ ਪਿੰਡੁ ਧਨੁ ਅਰਪਿਆ ਸੇਈ ਪਤਿਵੰਤੇ ॥
jee-o pind Dhan arpi-aa say-ee pativantay.
They alone are the honored ones who have surrendered their life, soul, and worldly wealth to the Master-God.
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਜਿੰਦ ਆਪਣਾ ਸਰੀਰ ਆਪਣਾ ਦੁਨਿਆਵੀ ਧਨ ਭੇਟਾ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਉਹ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਵਾਲੇ ਬਣ ਗਏ।
ਆਪਨੜੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਭਾਣਿਆ ਨਿਤ ਕੇਲ ਕਰੰਤੇ ॥੩॥
aapnarhay parabh bhaani-aa nit kayl karantay. ||3||
They became pleasing to their God and they daily enjoy spiritual bliss. ||3||
ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਲੱਗਣ ਲੱਗ ਪਏ, ਉਹ ਸਦਾ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਮਾਣਨ ਲੱਗ ਪਏ ॥੩॥
ਦੁਰਮਤਿ ਮਦੁ ਜੋ ਪੀਵਤੇ ਬਿਖਲੀ ਪਤਿ ਕਮਲੀ ॥
durmat mad jo peevtay bikhlee pat kamlee.
The evil intellect is like an intoxication, those who indulge in it become characterless fools.
ਖੋਟੀ ਮਤਿ (ਮਾਨੋ) ਸ਼ਰਾਬ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਇਹ ਸ਼ਰਾਬ ਪੀਣ ਲੱਗ ਪੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਉਹ ਦੁਰਾਚਾਰੀ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਉਹ (ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਵਿਚ) ਝੱਲੇ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਰਾਮ ਰਸਾਇਣਿ ਜੋ ਰਤੇ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਚ ਅਮਲੀ ॥੪॥੧੨॥੧੧੪॥
raam rasaa-in jo ratay naanak sach amlee. ||4||12||114||
But O’ Nanak, the true addicts of Naam are those who are imbued with the love of the nectar of God’s Name. ||4||12||114||
ਪਰ, ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜੇਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਸ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਟ ਰਸ ਵਿਚ ਮਸਤ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਅਮਲ ਲੱਗ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੪॥੧੨॥੧੧੪॥

Raag Aasaa, Fifth Guru:
ਉਦਮੁ ਕੀਆ ਕਰਾਇਆ ਆਰੰਭੁ ਰਚਾਇਆ ॥
udam kee-aa karaa-i-aa aarambh rachaa-i-aa.
The Guru encouraged me to make an effort and I made that effort and started meditating on Naam.
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਜਿਵੇਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਉੱਦਮ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਨਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ ਤਿਵੇਂ ਹੀ ਮੈਂ ਉੱਦਮ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਣ ਦੇ ਉੱਦਮ ਦਾ ਮੁੱਢ ਮੈਂ ਬੰਨ੍ਹ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।
ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪੇ ਜਪਿ ਜੀਵਣਾ ਗੁਰਿ ਮੰਤ੍ਰੁ ਦ੍ਰਿੜਾਇਆ ॥੧॥
naam japay jap jeevnaa gur mantar drirh-aa-i-aa. ||1||
The Guru implanted the Mantra of Naam within me and now I remain spiritually alive by meditating on Naam. ||1||
ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਨਾਮ-ਮੰਤ੍ਰ ਪੱਕਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਟਿਕਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ, ਹੁਣ ਨਾਮ ਜਪ ਜਪ ਕੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਮਿਲ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਪਾਇ ਪਰਹ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਕੈ ਜਿਨਿ ਭਰਮੁ ਬਿਦਾਰਿਆ ॥
paa-ay parah satguroo kai jin bharam bidaari-aa.
Let us bow to the true Guru, who has removed our doubt.
ਆਓ ਉਸ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਢਹਿ ਪਈਏ ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਸਾਡੇ ਮਨ ਦੀ ਭਟਕਣਾ ਨਾਸ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ।
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਆਪਣੀ ਸਚੁ ਸਾਜਿ ਸਵਾਰਿਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
kar kirpaa parabh aapnee sach saaj savaari-aa. ||1|| rahaa-o.
Bestowing His Mercy, God has embellished our life with His eternal Name. ||1||Pause||
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਣ ਦਾ ਰਸਤਾ ਚਲਾ ਕੇ ਸਾਡਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਸੋਹਣਾ ਬਣਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ
ਕਰੁ ਗਹਿ ਲੀਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਚੁ ਹੁਕਮਿ ਰਜਾਈ ॥
kar geh leenay aapnay sach hukam rajaa-ee.
Extending His support by His own will, the eternal God united me with His .
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਹੁਕਮ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਮੇਰਾ ਹੱਥ ਫੜ ਕੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਜੋ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਦਿਤੀ ਦਾਤਿ ਸਾ ਪੂਰਨ ਵਡਿਆਈ ॥੨॥
jo parabh ditee daat saa pooran vadi-aa-ee. ||2||
God gave me that gift of Naam, which is a perfect honor for me. ||2||
(ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ) ਜੇਹੜੀ ਦਾਤਿ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ ਉਹੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਡਾ ਆਦਰ-ਮਾਣ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਈਅਹਿ ਜਪਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਮੁਰਾਰੀ ॥
sadaa sadaa gun gaa-ee-ah jap naam muraaree.
Now I always keep singing the praises of God and meditate on His Name.
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਹੁਣ ਮੇਰੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ) ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਏ ਜਾ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ, ਮੈਂ ਸਦਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
ਨੇਮੁ ਨਿਬਾਹਿਓ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਧਾਰੀ ॥੩॥
naym nibaahi-o satguroo parabh kirpaa Dhaaree. ||3||
God has shown mercy and the true Guru has helped me in keeping my resolve of daily meditating on Naam. ||3||
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਮੇਹਰ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ। ਗੁਰੂ ਮੇਰਾ (ਨਾਮ ਜਪਣ ਦਾ) ਨੇਮ ਤੋੜ ਚਾੜ੍ਹ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਨਾਮੁ ਧਨੁ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਉ ਲਾਭੁ ਪੂਰੈ ਗੁਰਿ ਦਿਤਾ ॥
naam Dhan gun gaa-o laabh poorai gur ditaa.
The Perfect Guru has blessed me with wealth of singing the praises of God
ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ (ਮਨੁੱਖਾ ਜਨਮ ਵਿਚ ਕੀਤੇ ਜਾਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਵਣਜ ਦਾ ਇਹ) ਲਾਭ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।ਮੈਂ ਸਦਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਂਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ
ਵਣਜਾਰੇ ਸੰਤ ਨਾਨਕਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸਾਹੁ ਅਮਿਤਾ ॥੪॥੧੩॥੧੧੫॥
vanjaaray sant naankaa parabh saahu amitaa. ||4||13||115||
Nanak says, the infinite God is the Master of the wealth of Naam and the saints are the traders of this invaluable commodity. ||4||13||115||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਬੇਅੰਤ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਾਮ-ਰਾਸਿ ਦਾ ਸਾਹੂਕਾਰ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸੰਤ-ਜਨ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਵਣਜਾਰੇ ਹਨ ॥੪॥੧੩॥੧੧੫॥

Raag Aasaa, Fifth Guru:
ਜਾ ਕਾ ਠਾਕੁਰੁ ਤੁਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਤਾ ਕੇ ਵਡਭਾਗਾ ॥
jaa kaa thaakur tuhee parabh taa kay vadbhaagaa.
O’ God, one who has You as His Master, is very fortunate.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਸਿਰ ਉੱਤੇ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੈਂ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਵੱਡੇ ਭਾਗ (ਸਮਝਣੇ ਚਾਹੀਦੇ) ਹਨ,
ਓਹੁ ਸੁਹੇਲਾ ਸਦ ਸੁਖੀ ਸਭੁ ਭ੍ਰਮੁ ਭਉ ਭਾਗਾ ॥੧॥
oh suhaylaa sad sukhee sabh bharam bha-o bhaagaa. ||1||
He is happy and forever at peace; his doubts and fears are all dispelled. ||1||
ਉਹ ਸਦਾ ਸੌਖਾ (ਜੀਵਨ ਬਿਤੀਤ ਕਰਦਾ) ਹੈ ਉਹ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖੀ (ਰਹਿੰਦਾ) ਹੈ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਹਰੇਕ ਕਿਸਮ ਦਾ ਡਰ ਤੇ ਭਰਮ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਹਮ ਚਾਕਰ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਕੇ ਠਾਕੁਰੁ ਮੇਰਾ ਭਾਰਾ ॥
ham chaakar gobind kay thaakur mayraa bhaaraa.
I am the servant of the God of the universe; my Master is the greatest of all.
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਦਾ ਸੇਵਕ ਹਾਂ ਮੇਰਾ ਉਹ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਡਾ ਹੈ,
ਕਰਨ ਕਰਾਵਨ ਸਗਲ ਬਿਧਿ ਸੋ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਹਮਾਰਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
karan karaavan sagal biDh so satguroo hamaaraa. ||1|| rahaa-o.
In all ways, He can do and accomplish all things; He is my true Guru. |1||Pause|
ਜੋ ਸਾਰੇ ਤਰੀਕਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਕਰਾਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹੀ ਮੇਰਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਦੂਜਾ ਨਾਹੀ ਅਉਰੁ ਕੋ ਤਾ ਕਾ ਭਉ ਕਰੀਐ ॥
doojaa naahee a-or ko taa kaa bha-o karee-ai.
There is no other like God, of whom we should be afraid of.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਬਰਾਬਰ ਦਾ ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਡਰ ਮੰਨਿਆ ਜਾਏ।
