Raag Aasaa, Fifth Guru:
ਤੂ ਮੇਰਾ ਤਰੰਗੁ ਹਮ ਮੀਨ ਤੁਮਾਰੇ ॥
too mayraa tarang ham meen tumaaray.
O’ God, You are like an ocean and I am like a fish in that ocean.
ਹੇ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰਾ ਦਰੀਆ ਹੈਂ! ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਮੱਛੀ ਹਾਂ
ਤੂ ਮੇਰਾ ਠਾਕੁਰੁ ਹਮ ਤੇਰੈ ਦੁਆਰੇ ॥੧॥
too mayraa thaakur ham tayrai du-aaray. ||1||
You are my Master-God and I depend on You. ||1||
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੈਂ, ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਦਰ ਤੇ (ਆ ਡਿੱਗਾ) ਹਾਂ ॥੧॥
ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰਾ ਕਰਤਾ ਹਉ ਸੇਵਕੁ ਤੇਰਾ ॥
tooN mayraa kartaa ha-o sayvak tayraa.
You are my Creator and I am Your servant.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰਾ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ, ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰਾ ਦਾਸ ਹਾਂ।
ਸਰਣਿ ਗਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਗੁਨੀ ਗਹੇਰਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
saran gahee parabh gunee gahayraa. ||1|| rahaa-o.
O’ the unfathomable ocean of virtues, I have sought Your refuge. ||1||Pause||
ਹੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦੇ ਡੂੰਘੇ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਨ ਫੜੀ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਤੂ ਮੇਰਾ ਜੀਵਨੁ ਤੂ ਆਧਾਰੁ ॥
too mayraa jeevan too aaDhaar.
O’ God, You are my life and You are my Support.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਮੇਰੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ (ਦਾ ਮੂਲ) ਹੈਂ ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਮੇਰਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਹੈਂ,
ਤੁਝਹਿ ਪੇਖਿ ਬਿਗਸੈ ਕਉਲਾਰੁ ॥੨॥
tujheh paykh bigsai ka-ulaar. ||2||
Beholding You, my heart delights like a lotus flower. ||2||
ਤੈਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ (ਮੇਰਾ ਹਿਰਦਾ ਇਉਂ) ਖਿੜਦਾ ਹੈ (ਜਿਵੇਂ) ਕੌਲ-ਫੁੱਲ (ਸੂਰਜ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਖਿੜਦਾ ਹੈ) ॥੨॥
ਤੂ ਮੇਰੀ ਗਤਿ ਪਤਿ ਤੂ ਪਰਵਾਨੁ ॥
too mayree gat pat too parvaan.
O’ God, You are the protector of my spiritual life and honor; whatever You do, I accept that .
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਮੇਰੀ ਉੱਚੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਤੇ ਲੋਕ ਪਰਲੋਕ ਦੀ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਦਾ ਰਾਖਾ ਹੈਂ, ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਤੂੰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈਂ ਉਹ ਮੈਂ ਖਿੜੇ-ਮੱਥੇ ਮੰਨਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
ਤੂ ਸਮਰਥੁ ਮੈ ਤੇਰਾ ਤਾਣੁ ॥੩॥
too samrath mai tayraa taan. ||3||
You are all powerful and I depend only on Your support. ||3||
ਤੂੰ ਹਰੇਕ ਤਾਕਤ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੈਂ, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਤੇਰਾ ਹੀ ਸਹਾਰਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਜਪਉ ਨਾਮ ਗੁਣਤਾਸਿ ॥
an-din japa-o naam guntaas.
O’ God, the treasure of virtues, I may always meditate on Your Name.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਹੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦੇ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ! ਮੈਂ ਸਦਾ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਹੀ ਜਪਦਾ ਰਹਾਂ,
ਨਾਨਕ ਕੀ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਪਹਿ ਅਰਦਾਸਿ ॥੪॥੨੩॥੭੪॥

Raag Aasaa, Fifth Guru:
ਰੋਵਨਹਾਰੈ ਝੂਠੁ ਕਮਾਨਾ ॥
rovanhaarai jhooth kamaanaa.
The mourner mourn for false reasons like financial or social loss.
ਜਿੱਥੇ ਕੋਈ ਮਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਸੰਬੰਧੀ ਰੋਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਰੋਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਦੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਰੋਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਝੂਠਾ ਰੋਣ ਹੀ ਰੋਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਹਸਿ ਹਸਿ ਸੋਗੁ ਕਰਤ ਬੇਗਾਨਾ ॥੧॥
has has sog karat baygaanaa. ||1||
A stranger laughs and mourns superficially. ||1||
ਜੇਹੜਾ ਕੋਈ ਓਪਰਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਅਫ਼ਸੋਸ ਕਰਨ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਹੱਸ ਹੱਸ ਕੇ ਅਫ਼ਸੋਸ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਕੋ ਮੂਆ ਕਾ ਕੈ ਘਰਿ ਗਾਵਨੁ ॥
ko moo-aa kaa kai ghar gaavan.
There is mourning in one house, while there is singing in another house.
ਜਿੱਥੇ ਕੋਈ ਮਰਦਾ ਹੈ (ਉੱਥੇ ਰੋਣ-ਪਿੱਟਣ ਹੋ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ), ਤੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਵਿਚ (ਕਿਸੇ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ੀ ਆਦਿਕ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ) ਗਾਉਣ ਹੋ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
ਕੋ ਰੋਵੈ ਕੋ ਹਸਿ ਹਸਿ ਪਾਵਨੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ko rovai ko has has paavan. ||1|| rahaa-o.
One mourns and bewails, while another laughs with glee. ||1||Pause||
ਕੋਈ ਰੋਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਕੋਈ ਹੱਸ ਹੱਸ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਬਾਲ ਬਿਵਸਥਾ ਤੇ ਬਿਰਧਾਨਾ ॥
baal bivasthaa tay birDhaanaa.
From childhood to old age,
ਬਾਲ ਉਮਰ ਤੋਂ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਬੁੱਢਾ ਹੋਣ ਤਕ-
ਪਹੁਚਿ ਨ ਮੂਕਾ ਫਿਰਿ ਪਛੁਤਾਨਾ ॥੨॥
pahuch na mookaa fir pachhutaanaa. ||2||
one does not attain his goal of human life and regrets in the end. ||2||
ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨੇ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਅੱਪੜਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਅਖੀਰ ਨੂੰ ਪਸਚਾਤਾਪ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਤ੍ਰਿਹੁ ਗੁਣ ਮਹਿ ਵਰਤੈ ਸੰਸਾਰਾ ॥
tarihu gun meh vartai sansaaraa.
Humanity is under the influence of the three modes of Maya,
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਜਗਤ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਤਿੰਨ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਦੌੜ-ਭੱਜ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ,
ਨਰਕ ਸੁਰਗ ਫਿਰਿ ਫਿਰਿ ਅਉਤਾਰਾ ॥੩॥
narak surag fir fir a-utaaraa. ||3||
and keep going through hell or heaven again and again. ||3||
ਤੇ ਮੁੜ ਮੁੜ (ਕਦੇ) ਨਰਕਾਂ (ਦੁੱਖਾਂ) ਵਿਚ (ਕਦੇ) ਸੁਰਗ (ਸੁਖਾਂ) ਵਿਚ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ (ਕਦੇ ਸੁਖ ਮਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਦੇ ਦੁੱਖ ਭੋਗਦਾ ਹੈ) ॥੩॥
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਜੋ ਲਾਇਆ ਨਾਮ ॥
kaho naanak jo laa-i-aa naam.
Nanak says, one whom God attaches to Naam,
ਨਾਨਕ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ- ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਜੋੜਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਸਫਲ ਜਨਮੁ ਤਾ ਕਾ ਪਰਵਾਨ ॥੪॥੨੪॥੭੫॥
safal janam taa kaa parvaan. ||4||24||75||
his life becomes fruitful and acceptable in God’s court ||4||24||75||
ਉਸ ਦਾ ਮਨੁੱਖਾ ਜਨਮ ਕਾਮਯਾਬ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀਆਂ ਨਜ਼ਰਾਂ ਵਿਚ) ਕਬੂਲ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੪॥੨੪॥੭੫॥

Raag Aasaa, Fifth Guru:
ਸੋਇ ਰਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਖਬਰਿ ਨ ਜਾਨੀ ॥
so-ay rahee parabh khabar na jaanee.
The bride-soul who remains asleep through the night (entangled in Maya all her life) and does not understand about union with husband-God.
ਜੇਹੜੀ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਦੀ ਨੀਂਦ ਵਿਚ) ਸੁੱਤੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ (ਦੇ ਮਿਲਾਪ) ਦੀ ਕਿਸੇ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਮਝਦੀ।
ਭੋਰੁ ਭਇਆ ਬਹੁਰਿ ਪਛੁਤਾਨੀ ॥੧॥
bhor bha-i-aa bahur pachhutaanee. ||1||
When the day dawns (life is about to end), then she repents . ||1||
ਜਦੋਂ ਦਿਨ ਚੜ੍ਹ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ (ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਦੀ ਰਾਤ ਮੁੱਕ ਕੇ ਮੌਤ ਦਾ ਸਮਾ ਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ) ਤਦੋਂ ਉਹ ਪਛੁਤਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਪ੍ਰਿਅ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਸਹਜਿ ਮਨਿ ਅਨਦੁ ਧਰਉ ਰੀ ॥
pari-a paraym sahj man anad Dhara-o ree.
O’ my friend, due to my Beloved-God’s love, my mind remains in poise and bliss.
ਹੇ ਸਖੀ! ਪਿਆਰੇ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਦੁਆਰਾ,ਮੈਂ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਆਨੰਦ ਟਿਕਾਈ ਰੱਖਦੀ ਹਾਂ।
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮਿਲਬੇ ਕੀ ਲਾਲਸਾ ਤਾ ਤੇ ਆਲਸੁ ਕਹਾ ਕਰਉ ਰੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
parabh milbay kee laalsaa taa tay aalas kahaa kara-o ree. ||1|| rahaa-o.
O’ my friend, I have a longing to meet God, so how can I be lazy in remembering Him? ||1||Pause||
ਹੇ ਸਖੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਦੀ ਤਾਂਘ ਹੈ, ਇਸ ਵਾਸਤੇ (ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਰੱਖਣ ਵਲੋਂ) ਮੈਂ ਆਲਸ ਕਿਉਂ ਕਰਾ ?॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਕਰ ਮਹਿ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਆਣਿ ਨਿਸਾਰਿਓ ॥
kar meh amrit aan nisaari-o.
God Himself brought the ambrosial nectar and placed it in our hands. (God gave us a chance to partake the ambrosial nectar in this life
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਸਾਡੇ ਹੱਥਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਨਾਮ-ਜਲ ਲਿਆ ਕੇ ਪਾਇਆ ਸੀ (ਸਾਨੂੰ ਨਾਮ-ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਪੀਣ ਦਾ ਮੌਕਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ )।#
ਖਿਸਰਿ ਗਇਓ ਭੂਮ ਪਰਿ ਡਾਰਿਓ ॥੨॥
khisar ga-i-o bhoom par daari-o. ||2||
But the soul-bride who remains entangled in Maya all her life, it slips out of her hands and spills over the ground. ||2||
(ਪਰ ਜੇਹੜੀ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਉਮਰ ਮੋਹ ਦੀ ਨੀਂਦ ਵਿਚ ਸੁੱਤੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ), ਉਸ ਦੇ ਹੱਥਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਉਹ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਤਿਲਕ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਮਿੱਟੀ ਵਿਚ ਜਾ ਰਲਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਸਾਦਿ ਮੋਹਿ ਲਾਦੀ ਅਹੰਕਾਰੇ ॥
saad mohi laadee ahaNkaaray.
The soul-bride remains preoccupied with the worldly tastes, emotional attachments and arrogance;
ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਪਦਾਰਥਾਂ ਦੇ ਸੁਆਦ ਵਿਚ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਵਿਚ, ਅਹੰਕਾਰ ਵਿਚ ਦੱਬੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ,
ਦੋਸੁ ਨਾਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਰਣੈਹਾਰੇ ॥੩॥
dos naahee parabh karnaihaaray. ||3||
for her misfortune, no fault can be assigned to God, the Creator. ||3||
(ਇਸ ਦੀ ਇਸ ਮੰਦ-ਭਾਗਤਾ ਬਾਰੇ) ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਦੋਸ਼ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ॥੩॥
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਮਿਟੇ ਭਰਮ ਅੰਧਾਰੇ ॥
saaDhsang mitay bharam anDhaaray.
By joining the holy congregation, the soul-bride whose darkness of ignorance and doubts are dispelled.
ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਆ ਕੇ (ਜਿਸ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ) ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ ਭਟਕਣ ਦੇ ਹਨੇਰੇ ਮਿਟ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ,
ਨਾਨਕ ਮੇਲੀ ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰੇ ॥੪॥੨੫॥੭੬॥3
naanak maylee sirjanhaaray. ||4||25||76||
O Nanak, the Creator-God unites her with Himself. ||4||25||76||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ (ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ) ਜੋੜ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੪॥੨੫॥੭੬॥

ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲ ਕੀ ਆਸ ਪਿਆਰੇ ॥
charan kamal kee aas pi-aaray.
O’ my beloved-God, one who has the support of your immaculate Naam,
ਹੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਤੇਰੇ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜੇ ਰਹਿਣ ਦੀ ਆਸ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ,
ਜਮਕੰਕਰ ਨਸਿ ਗਏ ਵਿਚਾਰੇ ॥੧॥
jamkankar nas ga-ay vichaaray. ||1||
even the wretched demons of death run away from him. ||1||
ਜਮ-ਦੂਤ ਭੀ ਉਸ ਉੱਤੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਨਾਹ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਦੂਰ ਭੱਜ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੧॥
ਤੂ ਚਿਤਿ ਆਵਹਿ ਤੇਰੀ ਮਇਆ ॥
too chit aavahi tayree ma-i-aa.
O’ God, it is Your kindness that one remembers You,
ਹੇ ਸਾਹਿਬ! ਤੇਰੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਸਦਕਾ, ਤੂੰ ਸਿਮਰਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ l
ਸਿਮਰਤ ਨਾਮ ਸਗਲ ਰੋਗ ਖਇਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
simrat naam sagal rog kha-i-aa. ||1|| rahaa-o.
By meditating on Naam, all the afflictions are destroyed. ||1||Pause||
ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਿਆਂ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਰੋਗ ਨਾਸ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਅਨਿਕ ਦੂਖ ਦੇਵਹਿ ਅਵਰਾ ਕਉ ॥
anik dookh dayveh avraa ka-o.
O’ God, the demons of death give countless troubles to others,
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤਾਂ (ਇਹ ਜਮ-ਦੂਤ) ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਕਿਸਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਦੁੱਖ ਦੇਂਦੇ ਹਨ,
ਪਹੁਚਿ ਨ ਸਾਕਹਿ ਜਨ ਤੇਰੇ ਕਉ ॥੨॥
pahuch na saakeh jan tayray ka-o. ||2||
but they cannot come near Your devotee. ||2||
ਪਰ ਸੇਵਕ ਦੇ ਇਹ ਨੇੜੇ ਭੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਢੁੱਕ ਸਕਦੇ ॥੨॥
ਦਰਸ ਤੇਰੇ ਕੀ ਪਿਆਸ ਮਨਿ ਲਾਗੀ ॥
daras tayray kee pi-aas man laagee.
O’ God, in whose mind arises the longing for Your realization,
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਤੇਰੇ ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਦੀ ਤਾਂਘ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ,
ਸਹਜ ਅਨੰਦ ਬਸੈ ਬੈਰਾਗੀ ॥੩॥
sahj anand basai bairaagee. ||3||
detached from worldly affairs, he lives in a state of poise and bliss. ||3||
ਉਹ ਮਾਇਆ ਵਲੋਂ ਵੈਰਾਗਵਾਨ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਦੇ ਆਨੰਦ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਨਾਨਕ ਕੀ ਅਰਦਾਸਿ ਸੁਣੀਜੈ ॥

O’ God, listen to the prayer of Nanak
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਨਾਨਕ ਦੀ ਅਰਜ਼ੋਈ ਸੁਣ,
ਕੇਵਲ ਨਾਮੁ ਰਿਦੇ ਮਹਿ ਦੀਜੈ ॥੪॥੨੬॥੭੭॥
kayval naam riday meh deejai. ||4||26||77||

Raag Aasaa, Fifth Guru:
ਮਨੁ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਾਨੋ ਮਿਟੇ ਜੰਜਾਲ ॥
man tariptaano mitay janjaal.
My mind is satisfied and my worldly entanglements have dissolved.
ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ ਤ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨਾ ਵਲੋਂ ਰੱਜ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਬੰਧਨ ਟੁੱਟ ਗਏ ਹਨ
ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਅਪੁਨਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਕਿਰਪਾਲ ॥੧॥
parabh apunaa ho-i-aa kirpaal. ||1||
My God has become merciful to me. ||1||
ਮੇਰਾ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਮਿਹਰਬਾਨ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਸੰਤ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਭਲੀ ਬਨੀ ॥
sant parsaad bhalee banee.
By the Grace of the Guru, everything has turned out well,
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮੇਰਾ ਭਾਗ ਜਾਗ ਪਿਆ ਹੈ,
ਜਾ ਕੈ ਗ੍ਰਿਹਿ ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਹੈ ਪੂਰਨੁ ਸੋ ਭੇਟਿਆ ਨਿਰਭੈ ਧਨੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
jaa kai garihi sabh kichh hai pooran so bhayti-aa nirbhai Dhanee. ||1|| rahaa-o.
I have met that fearless Master, whose has everything in abudance. ||1||Pause||
ਮੈਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਮਾਲਕ ਮਿਲ ਪਿਆ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਸੇ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਕੋਈ ਡਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਤੇ ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਹਰੇਕ ਚੀਜ਼ ਅਮੁੱਕ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਨਾਮੁ ਦ੍ਰਿੜਾਇਆ ਸਾਧ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲ ॥
naam drirh-aa-i-aa saaDh kirpaal.
The merciful Guru firmly enshrined God’s Name in my heart,
ਦਇਆ-ਸਰੂਪ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਨਾਮ ਪੱਕਾ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।,
ਮਿਟਿ ਗਈ ਭੂਖ ਮਹਾ ਬਿਕਰਾਲ ॥੨॥
mit ga-ee bhookh mahaa bikraal. ||2||
The most dreadful yearning for Maya has been eliminated. ||2||
ਬੜੀ ਡਰਾਉਣੀ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ ਭੁੱਖ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਹੈ।॥੨॥
ਠਾਕੁਰਿ ਅਪੁਨੈ ਕੀਨੀ ਦਾਤਿ ॥
thaakur apunai keenee daat.
My Master has given me a gift;
ਮੇਰੇ ਮਾਲਕ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਇਕ ਬਖਸ਼ੀਸ਼ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ,
ਜਲਨਿ ਬੁਝੀ ਮਨਿ ਹੋਈ ਸਾਂਤਿ ॥੩॥
jalan bujhee man ho-ee saaNt. ||3||
the fire of burning desires for worldly wealth is extinguished and my mind is now at peace. ||3||
ਮਨ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਤ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨਾ ਦੀ ਅੱਗ ਬੁੱਝ ਗਈ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਠੰਢ ਪੈ ਗਈ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਮਿਟਿ ਗਈ ਭਾਲ ਮਨੁ ਸਹਜਿ ਸਮਾਨਾ ॥3
mit ga-ee bhaal man sahj samaanaa.
My search (for worldly wealth) has come to an end and my mind is absorbed in celestial bliss.
(ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦੇ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਿਆਂ ਵਾਸਤੇ ) ਮੇਰੀ ਖੋਜ ਭਾਲ ਮੁੱਕ ਗਈ ਹੈ , ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ l
