ਆਸ ਪਿਆਸੀ ਸੇਜੈ ਆਵਾ ॥
aas pi-aasee sayjai aavaa.
I start meditating on God’s Name with the yearning for union with Him,
ਆਪਣੇ ਪਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਣ ਦੀ ਇੱਛਾ ਅਤੇ ਤਰੇਹ ਨਾਲ ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪਲੰਘ ਤੇ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹਾਂ;
ਆਗੈ ਸਹ ਭਾਵਾ ਕਿ ਨ ਭਾਵਾ ॥੨॥
aagai sah bhaavaa ke na bhaavaa. ||2||
but I do not know whether my Husband-God will be pleased with me or not. |2|
ਪਰੰਤੂ ਅੱਗੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਪਤਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਖਸਮ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਪਸੰਦ ਆਵਾਂ ਕਿ ਨਾਹ
ਕਿਆ ਜਾਨਾ ਕਿਆ ਹੋਇਗਾ ਰੀ ਮਾਈ ॥
ki-aa jaanaa ki-aa ho-igaa ree maa-ee.
O’ my mother, I don’t know what would happen to me,
ਹੇ ਮਾਂ! ਮੈਨੂੰ ਸਮਝ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਂਦੀ ਕਿ ਮੇਰਾ ਕੀਹ ਬਣੇਗਾ,
ਹਰਿ ਦਰਸਨ ਬਿਨੁ ਰਹਨੁ ਨ ਜਾਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
har darsan bin rahan na jaa-ee. ||1|| rahaa-o.
but I can’t survive spiritually without the blessed vision of God. ||1||Pause||
ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਦੀਦਾਰ ਦੇ ਬਗੈਰ ਮੈਂ ਰਹਿ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਪ੍ਰੇਮੁ ਨ ਚਾਖਿਆ ਮੇਰੀ ਤਿਸ ਨ ਬੁਝਾਨੀ ॥
paraym na chaakhi-aa mayree tis na bujhaanee.
I have not enjoyed His love, therefore, my yearning for Maya is not quenched.
ਮੈਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਤੀ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਣਿਆ; ਇਸੇ ਕਰਕੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਮਾਇਆ ਵਾਲੀ ਤ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨਾ ਦੀ ਅੱਗ ਨਹੀਂ ਬੁੱਝ ਸਕੀ।
ਗਇਆ ਸੁ ਜੋਬਨੁ ਧਨ ਪਛੁਤਾਨੀ ॥੩॥
ga-i-aa so joban Dhan pachhutaanee. ||3||
My youth is gone and now I, the soul-bride, is repenting. ||3||
ਮੇਰੀ ਜਵਾਨੀ ਲੰਘ ਗਈ ਹੈ, ਹੁਣ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦ ਪਛਤਾਵਾ ਕਰ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਅਜੈ ਸੁ ਜਾਗਉ ਆਸ ਪਿਆਸੀ ॥
ajai so jaaga-o aas pi-aasee.
Yearning for union with Him I am still awake,
ਹੁਣ ਭੀ ਮੈਂ ਪਰਮ ਚਾਹਵਾਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਗਦੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹਾਂ।
ਭਈਲੇ ਉਦਾਸੀ ਰਹਉ ਨਿਰਾਸੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
bha-eelay udaasee raha-o niraasee. ||1|| rahaa-o.
and bereft of hope I remain depressed. ||1||Pause||
ਮੈਂ ਗ਼ਮਗੀਨ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਹਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਬੇ-ਉਮੈਦ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹਾਂ
ਹਉਮੈ ਖੋਇ ਕਰੇ ਸੀਗਾਰੁ ॥
ha-umai kho-ay karay seegaar.
If soul-bride overcomes her egotism and adorns herself with the virtues of meditation,
ਜੇਕਰ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਹਉਮੈ ਛੱਡ ਦੇਵੇ ਅਤੇ ਆਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਬਨਾਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹਾਰ ਸ਼ਿੰਗਾਰ ਕਰੇ,
ਤਉ ਕਾਮਣਿ ਸੇਜੈ ਰਵੈ ਭਤਾਰੁ ॥੪॥
ta-o kaaman sayjai ravai bhataar. ||4||
then the she would realize Husband-God in her heart and would enjoy Him. ||4||
ਤਦੋਂ ਉਸ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਖਸਮ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਹਿਰਦਾ-ਸੇਜ ਤੇ ਆ ਕੇ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੪॥
ਤਉ ਨਾਨਕ ਕੰਤੈ ਮਨਿ ਭਾਵੈ ॥
ta-o naanak kantai man bhaavai.
O’ Nanak, only then the soul-bride becomes pleasing to the Husband-God;
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਤਦੋਂ ਹੀ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਖਸਮ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਚੰਗੀ ਲੱਗਦੀ ਹੈ,
ਛੋਡਿ ਵਡਾਈ ਅਪਣੇ ਖਸਮ ਸਮਾਵੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥੨੬॥
chhod vadaa-ee apnay khasam samaavai. ||1|| rahaa-o. ||26||
when shedding egotism, she merges in her Master-God. ||1||Pause||26||
ਜਦੋਂ ਮਾਣ-ਵਡਿਆਈ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਖਸਮ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥੨੬॥

Raag Aasaa, First Guru:
ਪੇਵਕੜੈ ਧਨ ਖਰੀ ਇਆਣੀ ॥
payvkarhai Dhan kharee i-aanee.
I, the bride-soul remained ignorant in my parent’s house (this world),
ਪੇਕੇ ਘਰ (ਇਸ ਜਹਾਨ) ਅੰਦਰ, ਮੈਂ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਬਹੁਤ ਬੇਸਮਝ ਰਹੀ,
ਤਿਸੁ ਸਹ ਕੀ ਮੈ ਸਾਰ ਨ ਜਾਣੀ ॥੧॥
tis sah kee mai saar na jaanee. ||1||
and did not realize the worth of my Husband-God. ||1||
ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਖਸਮ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਕਦਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਮਝ ਸਕੀ ॥੧॥
ਸਹੁ ਮੇਰਾ ਏਕੁ ਦੂਜਾ ਨਹੀ ਕੋਈ ॥
saho mayraa ayk doojaa nahee ko-ee.
My Husband-God is the only one and there is no other like Him.
ਮੇਰਾ ਖਸਮ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਇਕ-ਰਸ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਵਰਗਾ ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ।
ਨਦਰਿ ਕਰੇ ਮੇਲਾਵਾ ਹੋਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
nadar karay maylaavaa ho-ee. ||1|| rahaa-o.
My union with Him can take place only with His glance of grace. ||1||Pause||
ਉਸ ਦੀ ਮੇਹਰ ਦੀ ਨਜ਼ਰ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਮੇਰਾ ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਹੋ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਸਾਹੁਰੜੈ ਧਨ ਸਾਚੁ ਪਛਾਣਿਆ ॥
saahurrhai Dhan saach pachhaani-aa.
The bride soul who recognizes the truth about the father-in-law’s house (the next world),
ਜੇਹੜੀ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਸਹੁਰੇ ਘਰ (ਅਗਲੇ ਜਹਾਨ) ਦੀ ਅਸਲੀਅਤ ਨੂੰ ਪਛਾਣ ਲੈਂਦੀ ਹੈ;
ਸਹਜਿ ਸੁਭਾਇ ਅਪਣਾ ਪਿਰੁ ਜਾਣਿਆ ॥੨॥
sahj subhaa-ay apnaa pir jaani-aa. ||2||
intuitively realizes her Husband-God. ||2||
ਅਡੋਲ ਹੀ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਖਸਮ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨਾਲ ਡੂੰਘੀ ਸਾਂਝ ਪਾ ਲੈਂਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਐਸੀ ਮਤਿ ਆਵੈ ॥
gur parsaadee aisee mat aavai.
When through Guru’s grace the bride-soul obtains such wisdom,
ਜਦੋਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ (ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਨੂੰ) ਅਜੇਹੀ ਅਕਲ ਆ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ
ਤਾਂ ਕਾਮਣਿ ਕੰਤੈ ਮਨਿ ਭਾਵੈ ॥੩॥
taaN kaaman kantai man bhaavai. ||3||
then the soul-bride becomes pleasing to her Husband-God. ||3||
ਤਦੋਂ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਕੰਤ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਚੰਗੀ ਲੱਗਣ ਲੱਗ ਪੈਂਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਕਹਤੁ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਭੈ ਭਾਵ ਕਾ ਕਰੇ ਸੀਗਾਰੁ ॥
kahat naanak bhai bhaav kaa karay seegaar.
Nanak says, she who adorns herself with the revered fear of God,
ਨਾਨਕ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ- ਜੇਹੜੀ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਡਰ ਦਾ ਤੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਦਾ ਸਿੰਗਾਰ ਬਣਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ,
ਸਦ ਹੀ ਸੇਜੈ ਰਵੈ ਭਤਾਰੁ ॥੪॥੨੭॥
sad hee sayjai ravai bhataar. ||4||27||
enjoys her Husband-God forever in her heart ||4||27||
ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਸਦਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ-ਸੇਜ ਉਤੇ ਮਾਣਦੀ ਹੈ।

Raag Aasaa, First Guru:
ਨ ਕਿਸ ਕਾ ਪੂਤੁ ਨ ਕਿਸ ਕੀ ਮਾਈ ॥
na kis kaa poot na kis kee maa-ee.
In reality, no one is anybody’s son and no one is anyone’s mother forever.
ਅਸਲ ਵਿਚ ਨਾਹ ਮਾਂ ਨਾਹ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਕੋਈ ਭੀ ਕਿਸੇ ਦਾ ਪੱਕਾ ਸਾਥੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ।
ਝੂਠੈ ਮੋਹਿ ਭਰਮਿ ਭੁਲਾਈ ॥੧॥
jhoothai mohi bharam bhulaa-ee. ||1||
Misled by doubt, the entire world is entangled in false worldly attachment. ||1||
ਝੂਠੇ ਮੋਹ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਭਟਕਣਾ ਵਿਚ ਪੈ ਕੇ ਕੁਰਾਹੇ ਪਈ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਮੇਰੇ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਹਉ ਕੀਤਾ ਤੇਰਾ ॥
mayray saahib ha-o keetaa tayraa.
O My Master-God, I am created by You.
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਾਲਿਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰਾ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਹਾਂ
ਜਾਂ ਤੂੰ ਦੇਹਿ ਜਪੀ ਨਾਉ ਤੇਰਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
jaaN tooN deh japee naa-o tayraa. ||1|| rahaa-o.
When You bless me with Naam, only then I will be able to meditate. |1|Pause|
ਜਦੋਂ ਤੂੰ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਨਾਮ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਤਦੋਂ ਹੀ ਮੈਂ ਜਪ ਸਕਦਾ ਹਾਂ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਬਹੁਤੇ ਅਉਗਣ ਕੂਕੈ ਕੋਈ ॥
bahutay a-ugan kookai ko-ee.
Even if a person is full of sins and even then if he sincerely prays to God.
ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਹੀ ਪਾਪ ਕੀਤੇ ਹੋਏ ਹੋਣ, ਫਿਰ ਭੀ ਜੇ ਕੋਈ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਦਰ ਤੇ) ਅਰਜ਼ੋਈ ਕਰੇ,
ਜਾ ਤਿਸੁ ਭਾਵੈ ਬਖਸੇ ਸੋਈ ॥੨॥
jaa tis bhaavai bakhsay so-ee. ||2||
God would forgive that person, if it pleases Him. ||2||
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਫ ਕਰੇਗਾ, ਜੇਕਰ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਲੱਗੇਗਾ ॥੨॥
ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਦੁਰਮਤਿ ਖੋਈ ॥
gur parsaadee durmat kho-ee.
Through the Guru’s grace, I have lost all my evil intellect,
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਡੀ ਖੋਟੀ ਮਤਿ ਨਾਸ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਜਹ ਦੇਖਾ ਤਹ ਏਕੋ ਸੋਈ ॥੩॥
jah daykhaa tah ayko so-ee. ||3||
and now wherever I look, there I see the One God. ||3||
ਮੈਂ ਜਿਧਰ ਵੇਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਉਧਰ (ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ) ਉਹ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਹੀ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਵੇਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ
ਕਹਤ ਨਾਨਕ ਐਸੀ ਮਤਿ ਆਵੈ ॥
kahat naanak aisee mat aavai.
Nanak says, if one comes to such an understanding,
ਨਾਨਕ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ- ਜਦੋਂ ਜੀਵ ਨੂੰ ਅਜੇਹੀ ਅਕਲ ਆ ਜਾਵੇ,
ਤਾਂ ਕੋ ਸਚੇ ਸਚਿ ਸਮਾਵੈ ॥੪॥੨੮॥
taaN ko sachay sach samaavai. ||4||28||
only then one merges in the eternal God ||4||28||
ਤਾਂ ਜੀਵ ਸਦਾ ਉਸ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਯਾਦ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੪॥੨੮॥

Raag Aasaa, Du-Padas (two liners), First Guru:
ਤਿਤੁ ਸਰਵਰੜੈ ਭਈਲੇ ਨਿਵਾਸਾ ਪਾਣੀ ਪਾਵਕੁ ਤਿਨਹਿ ਕੀਆ ॥
tit saravrarhai bha-eelay nivaasaa paanee paavak tineh kee-aa.
We dwell in such an ocean in which God has put the fire of worldly desires of vices instead of water.
ਸਾਡੀ ਉਸ ਭਿਆਨਕ ਸਰੋਵਰ ਵਿਚ ਵੱਸੋਂ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਵਿਚ ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਪਾਣੀ ਦੇ ਥਾਂ ਤ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨਾ ਦੀ ਅੱਗ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ,
ਪੰਕਜੁ ਮੋਹ ਪਗੁ ਨਹੀ ਚਾਲੈ ਹਮ ਦੇਖਾ ਤਹ ਡੂਬੀਅਲੇ ॥੧॥
pankaj moh pag nahee chaalai ham daykhaa tah doobee-alay. ||1||
Stuck in the mud of false worldly attachments, people cannot move towards spiritual advancement. I see many people being drowned in this ocean.||1||
ਮੋਹ ਦੇ ਚਿੱਕੜ ਵਿਚ ਫਸੇ ਪਏ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦਾ ਪੈਰ ਚਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ, ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਅੰਦਰ ਡੁਬਦਿਆਂ ਮੈਂ ਵੇਖ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਮਨ ਏਕੁ ਨ ਚੇਤਸਿ ਮੂੜ ਮਨਾ ॥
man ayk na chaytas moorh manaa.
O’ my foolish mind, why don’t you remember God?
ਹੇ ਮੂਰਖ ਮਨ! ਤੂੰ ਕਿਉਂ ਇਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ।
ਹਰਿ ਬਿਸਰਤ ਤੇਰੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਲਿਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
har bisrat tayray gun gali-aa. ||1|| rahaa-o.
By forgetting God, all your virtues are eroding away. ||1||Pause||
ਤੂੰ ਜਿਉਂ ਜਿਉਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਸਾਰਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਤੇਰੇ (ਅੰਦਰੋਂ) ਗੁਣ ਘਟਦੇ ਜਾ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਨਾ ਹਉ ਜਤੀ ਸਤੀ ਨਹੀ ਪੜਿਆ ਮੂਰਖ ਮੁਗਧਾ ਜਨਮੁ ਭਇਆ ॥
naa ha-o jatee satee nahee parhi-aa moorakh mugDhaa janam bha-i-aa.
O’ God, neither am I a celibate, nor compassionate, nor a scholar. In fact, throughout my entire life I have been a pure ignorant fool.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਨਾਹ ਮੈਂ ਜਤੀ ਹਾਂ ਨਾਹ ਮੈਂ ਸਤੀ ਹਾਂ ਨਾਹ ਹੀ ਮੈਂ ਪੜ੍ਹਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹਾਂ, ਮੇਰਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਤਾਂ ਮੂਰਖਾਂ ਬੇ-ਸਮਝਾਂ ਵਾਲਾ ਬਣਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ,
ਪ੍ਰਣਵਤਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਤਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹ ਕੀ ਸਰਣਾ ਜਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹ ਤੂੰ ਨਾਹੀ ਵੀਸਰਿਆ ॥੨॥੨੯॥
paranvat naanak tinH kee sarnaa jinH tooN naahee veesri-aa. ||2||29||
O’ God keep me in the shelter of those who have not forgotten You, prays Nanak. ||2||29||
ਨਾਨਕ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੈਨੂੰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਵਿਚ ਰੱਖ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਭੁੱਲਿਆ ॥੨॥੨੯॥

ਛਿਅ ਘਰ ਛਿਅ ਗੁਰ ਛਿਅ ਉਪਦੇਸ ॥
chhi-a ghar chhi-a gur chhi-a updays.
There are six systems of philosophy, six teachers and six doctrines.
ਛੇ ਸ਼ਾਸਤ੍ਰ ਹਨ, ਛੇ ਹੀ (ਇਹਨਾਂ ਸ਼ਾਸਤ੍ਰਾਂ ਦੇ) ਚਲਾਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਹਨ, ਛੇ ਹੀ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਿੱਧਾਂਤ ਹਨ।
ਗੁਰ ਗੁਰੁ ਏਕੋ ਵੇਸ ਅਨੇਕ ॥੧॥
gur gur ayko vays anayk. ||1||
But the teacher of all the teachers is the one God, though He is manifested in many ways. ||1||
ਪਰ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਮੂਲ-ਗੁਰੂ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ) ਇੱਕ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਸਿੱਧਾਂਤ ਉਸ ਇੱਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਹੀ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਵੇਸ ਹਨ ॥੧॥
ਜੈ ਘਰਿ ਕਰਤੇ ਕੀਰਤਿ ਹੋਇ ॥
jai ghar kartay keerat ho-ay.
That congregation where the Praises of the Creator are sung,
ਜਿਸ ਮੱਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਕਾਲ-ਪੁਰਖ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ,
ਸੋ ਘਰੁ ਰਾਖੁ ਵਡਾਈ ਤੋਹਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
so ghar raakh vadaa-ee tohi. ||1|| rahaa-o.
follow that congregation; in it rests your glory. ||1||Pause||
ਉਸ ਮੱਤ ਦੀ ਪੈਰਵੀ ਕਰ। ਇਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਤੇਰੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਵਿਸੁਏ ਚਸਿਆ ਘੜੀਆ ਪਹਰਾ ਥਿਤੀ ਵਾਰੀ ਮਾਹੁ ਭਇਆ ॥
visu-ay chasi-aa gharhee-aa pahraa thitee vaaree maahu bha-i-aa.
The seconds, minutes, hours, the solar and lunar days, months,
ਜਿਵੇਂ ਵਿਸੁਏ, ਚਸੇ, ਘੜੀਆਂ, ਪਹਰ, ਥਿੱਤਾਂ, ਵਾਰ, ਮਹੀਨਾ
ਸੂਰਜੁ ਏਕੋ ਰੁਤਿ ਅਨੇਕ ॥
sooraj ayko rut anayk.
and the changing seasons, all originate from the same one Sun.
ਅਤੇ ਕਈ ਮੌਸਮ ਇਕੋ ਹੀ ਸੂਰਜ ਤੋਂ ਉਤਪੰਨ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ
ਨਾਨਕ ਕਰਤੇ ਕੇ ਕੇਤੇ ਵੇਸ ॥੨॥੩੦॥
naanak kartay kay kaytay vays. ||2||30||
Similarly O’ Nanak, all these beings and creatures are the countless forms of the one Creator. ||2||30||
ਤਿਵੇਂ ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਇਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਜੀਆ ਜੰਤ ਕਰਤਾਰ ਦੇ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਸਰੂਪ ਹਨ ॥੨॥੩੦॥
