Salok, Fourth Guru:
ਜਿਨ ਕਉ ਆਪਿ ਦੇਇ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਜਗਤੁ ਭੀ ਆਪੇ ਆਣਿ ਤਿਨ ਕਉ ਪੈਰੀ ਪਾਏ ॥
jin ka-o aap day-ay vadi-aa-ee jagat bhee aapay aan tin ka-o pairee paa-ay.
Those whom God blesses with glory, He makes the world also bow to them in respect.
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਚਰਨੀਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਭੀ ਲਿਆ ਕੇ ਪਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਡਰੀਐ ਤਾਂ ਜੇ ਕਿਛੁ ਆਪ ਦੂ ਕੀਚੈ ਸਭੁ ਕਰਤਾ ਆਪਣੀ ਕਲਾ ਵਧਾਏ ॥
daree-ai taaN jay kichh aap doo keechai sabh kartaa aapnee kalaa vaDhaa-ay.
We should only be afraid, if we can try to do things by ourselves, but it is actually the Creator who is exercising His Power when He glorifies anybody.
ਕੇਵਲ ਤਦ ਹੀ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਡਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜੇਕਰ ਅਸੀਂ ਖੁਦ ਕੁਛ ਕਰੀਏ, ਇਹ ਤਾਂ ਕਰਤਾਰ ਆਪਣੀ ਕਲਾ ਆਪ ਵਧਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
ਦੇਖਹੁ ਭਾਈ ਏਹੁ ਅਖਾੜਾ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਸਚੇ ਕਾ ਜਿਨਿ ਆਪਣੈ ਜੋਰਿ ਸਭਿ ਆਣਿ ਨਿਵਾਏ ॥
daykhhu bhaa-ee ayhu akhaarhaa har pareetam sachay kaa jin aapnai jor sabh aan nivaa-ay.
O’ brothers, remember this is the power play of our beloved God who has made everyone to bow in humility before the true Guru.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਚੇਤਾ ਰੱਖੋ, ਜਿਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਬਲ ਨਾਲ ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਲਿਆ ਕੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਨਿਵਾਇਆ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਸੱਚੇ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਦਾ ਇਹ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਇਕ ਅਖਾੜਾ ਹੈ l
ਆਪਣਿਆ ਭਗਤਾ ਕੀ ਰਖ ਕਰੇ ਹਰਿ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਨਿੰਦਕਾ ਦੁਸਟਾ ਕੇ ਮੁਹ ਕਾਲੇ ਕਰਾਏ ॥
aapni-aa bhagtaa kee rakh karay har su-aamee nindkaa dustaa kay muh kaalay karaa-ay.
God protects His devotees and brings disgrace to the slanderers and evil-doers.
ਉਹ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪਣੇ ਭਗਤਾਂ ਦੀ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਨਿੰਦਕਾਂ ਦੁਸ਼ਟਾਂ ਦੇ ਮੂੰਹ ਕਾਲੇ ਕਰਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਨਿਤ ਚੜੈ ਸਵਾਈ ਹਰਿ ਕੀਰਤਿ ਭਗਤਿ ਨਿਤ ਆਪਿ ਕਰਾਏ ॥
satgur kee vadi-aa-ee nit charhai savaa-ee har keerat bhagat nit aap karaa-ay.
The glory of the true Guru enhances day by day, because God Himself inspires the Guru to worship and sing His praises everyday.
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਮਹਿਮਾ ਸਦਾ ਵਧਦੀ ਹੈ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਹਰੀ ਆਪਣੀ ਕੀਰਤੀ ਤੇ ਭਗਤੀ ਸਦਾ ਆਪ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਕਰਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਹੁ ਗੁਰਸਿਖਹੁ ਹਰਿ ਕਰਤਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਘਰੀ ਵਸਾਏ ॥
an-din naam japahu gursikhahu har kartaa satgur gharee vasaa-ay.
O’ disciples of the Guru, always remember Naam so that the Creator may enshrine the love for the true Guru in your mind.
ਹੇ ਗੁਰ-ਸਿਖੋ! ਹਰ ਰੋਜ਼ (ਭਾਵ, ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ) ਨਾਮ ਜਪੋ ਤਾ ਕਿ ਸਿਰਜਨਹਾਰ ਹਰੀ ਇਹੋ ਜਿਹਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਵਸਾ ਦੇਵੇ।
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਸਤਿ ਸਤਿ ਕਰਿ ਜਾਣਹੁ ਗੁਰਸਿਖਹੁ ਹਰਿ ਕਰਤਾ ਆਪਿ ਮੁਹਹੁ ਕਢਾਏ ॥
satgur kee banee sat sat kar jaanhu gursikhahu har kartaa aap muhhu kadhaa-ay.
O’ disciples of the Guru, deem the true Guru’s word as absolute truth, because the Creator Himself inspires the Guru to utter these divine words.
ਹੇ ਗੁਰ-ਸਿਖੋ! ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਨਿਰੋਲ ਸੱਚ ਸਮਝੋ (ਕਿਉਂਕਿ) ਸਿਰਜਨਹਾਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਇਹ ਬਾਣੀ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਮੂੰਹ ਤੋਂ ਅਖਵਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਗੁਰਸਿਖਾ ਕੇ ਮੁਹ ਉਜਲੇ ਕਰੇ ਹਰਿ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਜੈਕਾਰੁ ਸੰਸਾਰਿ ਸਭਤੁ ਕਰਾਏ ॥
gursikhaa kay muh ujlay karay har pi-aaraa gur kaa jaikaar sansaar sabhat karaa-ay.
The beloved God glorifies the disciples of the Guru and makes the entire world acclaim the Guru.
ਪਿਆਰਾ ਹਰੀ ਗੁਰ-ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਮੂੰਹ ਉਜਲੇ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਵਿਚ ਸਭਨੀਂ ਪਾਸੀਂ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਜਿੱਤ ਕਰਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਜਨੁ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਦਾਸੁ ਹੈ ਹਰਿ ਦਾਸਨ ਕੀ ਹਰਿ ਪੈਜ ਰਖਾਏ ॥੨॥
jan naanak har kaa daas hai har daasan kee har paij rakhaa-ay. ||2||
Nanak too is the devotee of that God, Who preserves the honor of His devotees. ||2||
ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ ਭੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਸੇਵਕ ਹੈ; ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪਣੇ ਦਾਸਾਂ ਦੀ ਲਾਜ ਆਪ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ l

ਤੂ ਸਚਾ ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਆਪਿ ਹੈ ਸਚੁ ਸਾਹ ਹਮਾਰੇ ॥
too sachaa saahib aap hai sach saah hamaaray.
O’ our eternal Benefactor, You Yourself are our true Master.
ਹੇ ਸਾਡੇ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਸ਼ਾਹ! ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਸੱਚਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੈਂ।
ਸਚੁ ਪੂਜੀ ਨਾਮੁ ਦ੍ਰਿੜਾਇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਵਣਜਾਰੇ ਥਾਰੇ ॥
sach poojee naam drirh-aa-ay parabh vanjaaray thaaray.
O’ God, we are Your petty traders of Naam, please make us firmly believe that the wealth of Naam is eternal.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਅਸੀਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਵਣਜਾਰੇ ਹਾਂ, ਸਾਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਨਿਸਚੇ ਕਰਾ ਕਿ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਪੂੰਜੀ ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਹੈ।
ਸਚੁ ਸੇਵਹਿ ਸਚੁ ਵਣੰਜਿ ਲੈਹਿ ਗੁਣ ਕਥਹ ਨਿਰਾਰੇ ॥
sach sayveh sach vananj laihi gun kathah niraaray.
Those who remember Your eternal Name with devotion, deal in truth (live righteously) and utter Your unique virtues,
ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਸੱਚੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਸਉਦਾ ਖ਼ਰੀਦਦੇ ਹਨ ਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਿਰਾਲੇ ਗੁਣ ਉਚਾਰਦੇ ਹਨ,
ਸੇਵਕ ਭਾਇ ਸੇ ਜਨ ਮਿਲੇ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦਿ ਸਵਾਰੇ ॥
sayvak bhaa-ay say jan milay gur sabad savaaray.
embellished through the Guru’s word, and they unite with You as Your humble devotees.
ਉਹ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਸੁਧਰ ਕੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਸੁਭਾਉ ਵਾਲੇ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਤੂ ਸਚਾ ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਅਲਖੁ ਹੈ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦਿ ਲਖਾਰੇ ॥੧੪॥
too sachaa saahib alakh hai gur sabad lakhaaray. ||14||
O’ God, You are the true Master, You are unfathomable, but it is only through the Guru’s word that You are comprehended. ||14||
ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! ਤੂੰ ਸੱਚਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੈਂ, ਤੈਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਸਮਝ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ (ਪਰ) ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਤੇਰੀ ਸੂਝ ਪੈਂਦੀ ਹੈ l
ਸਲੋਕ ਮਃ ੪ ॥

Shalok, Fourth Guru:
ਜਿਸੁ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਤਾਤਿ ਪਰਾਈ ਹੋਵੈ ਤਿਸ ਦਾ ਕਦੇ ਨ ਹੋਵੀ ਭਲਾ ॥
jis andar taat paraa-ee hovai tis daa kaday na hovee bhalaa.
One whose heart is filled with jealousy of others, his end is never good.
ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਾਈ ਈਰਖਾ ਹੋਵੇ, ਉਸ ਦਾ ਆਪਣਾ ਭੀ ਕਦੇ ਭਲਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ।
ਓਸ ਦੈ ਆਖਿਐ ਕੋਈ ਨ ਲਗੈ ਨਿਤ ਓਜਾੜੀ ਪੂਕਾਰੇ ਖਲਾ ॥
os dai aakhi-ai ko-ee na lagai nit ojaarhee pookaaray khalaa.
No one pays any attention to what he says, and he is just a fool, crying out endlessly in the wilderness.
ਉਸ ਦੇ ਬਚਨ ਤੇ ਕੋਈ ਇਤਬਾਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ, ਉਹ ਸਦਾ (ਮਾਨੋ) ਉਜਾੜ ਵਿਚ ਖਲੋਤਾ ਕੂਕਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਜਿਸੁ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਚੁਗਲੀ ਚੁਗਲੋ ਵਜੈ ਕੀਤਾ ਕਰਤਿਆ ਓਸ ਦਾ ਸਭੁ ਗਇਆ ॥
jis andar chuglee chuglo vajai keetaa karti-aa os daa sabh ga-i-aa.
One whose heart is filled with slander, he becomes notorious as a slanderer, and whatever spiritual gain he had accumulated goes in vain.
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਚੁਗ਼ਲੀ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਚੁਗ਼ਲ (ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਨਾਲ) ਹੀ ਮਸ਼ਹੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੀ (ਪਿਛਲੀ) ਸਾਰੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੋਈ ਕਮਾਈ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ l
ਨਿਤ ਚੁਗਲੀ ਕਰੇ ਅਣਹੋਦੀ ਪਰਾਈ ਮੁਹੁ ਕਢਿ ਨ ਸਕੈ ਓਸ ਦਾ ਕਾਲਾ ਭਇਆ ॥
nit chuglee karay anhodee paraa-ee muhu kadh na sakai os daa kaalaa bha-i-aa.
He always keeps indulging in baseless slander of others, therefore, he is disgraced so much that he cannot face anyone.
ਉਹ ਸਦਾ ਪਰਾਈ ਝੂਠੀ ਚੁਗ਼ਲੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਇਸ ਮੁਕਾਲਖ ਕਰਕੇ ਉਹ ਕਿਸੇ ਦੇ ਮੱਥੇ ਭੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੱਗ ਸਕਦਾ l
ਕਰਮ ਧਰਤੀ ਸਰੀਰੁ ਕਲਿਜੁਗ ਵਿਚਿ ਜੇਹਾ ਕੋ ਬੀਜੇ ਤੇਹਾ ਕੋ ਖਾਏ ॥
karam Dhartee sareer kalijug vich jayhaa ko beejay tayhaa ko khaa-ay.
In the human life, the body is like a field where we sow the seeds of our deeds and the basic rule is that as one plants, so one eats.
ਇਸ ਮਨੁੱਖਾ ਜਨਮ ਵਿਚ ਸਰੀਰ ਕਰਮ-ਰੂਪ ਬੀਜ ਬੀਜਣ ਲਈ ਭੁੰਏਂ ਹੈ, ਇਸ ਵਿਚ ਜਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਬੀਜ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਬੀਜਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਫਲ ਖਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਗਲਾ ਉਪਰਿ ਤਪਾਵਸੁ ਨ ਹੋਈ ਵਿਸੁ ਖਾਧੀ ਤਤਕਾਲ ਮਰਿ ਜਾਏ ॥
galaa upar tapaavas na ho-ee vis khaaDhee tatkaal mar jaa-ay.
(God’s) justice is not passed on mere words, if one eats poison, dies instantly.
ਮੂੰਹ-ਜ਼ਬਾਨੀ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਨਿਆਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ। ਜ਼ਹਿਰ ਖਾ ਕੇ ਆਦਮੀ ਇਕ ਦਮ ਮਰ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਭਾਈ ਵੇਖਹੁ ਨਿਆਉ ਸਚੁ ਕਰਤੇ ਕਾ ਜੇਹਾ ਕੋਈ ਕਰੇ ਤੇਹਾ ਕੋਈ ਪਾਏ ॥
bhaa-ee vaykhhu ni-aa-o sach kartay kaa jayhaa ko-ee karay tayhaa ko-ee paa-ay.
O’ brothers, behold the justice of the True Creator, as one acts, so is his reward.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਸੱਚੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਿਆਉਂ ਵੇਖੋ, ਜਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਓਹੋ ਜਿਹਾ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਫਲ ਪਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਕਉ ਸਭ ਸੋਝੀ ਪਾਈ ਹਰਿ ਦਰ ਕੀਆ ਬਾਤਾ ਆਖਿ ਸੁਣਾਏ ॥੧॥
jan naanak ka-o sabh sojhee paa-ee har dar kee-aa baataa aakh sunaa-ay. ||1||
O’ Nanak, the devotee on whom God has bestowed all this understanding, is narrating the ways of God. ||1||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜਿਸ ਦਾਸ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਇਹ ਸਮਝਣ ਦੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਬੁਧਿ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਦਰ ਦੀਆਂ ਇਹ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਸੁਣਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

Salok, Fourth Guru:
ਹੋਦੈ ਪਰਤਖਿ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੋ ਵਿਛੁੜੇ ਤਿਨ ਕਉ ਦਰਿ ਢੋਈ ਨਾਹੀ ॥
hodai partakh guroo jo vichhurhay tin ka-o dar dho-ee naahee.
In spite of the Guru’s presence in front of them, those who remain separated from the Guru, find no refuge in the presence of God.
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਪਰਤੱਖ ਹੁੰਦਿਆਂ ਭੀ ਜੋ ਗੁਰ ਤੋਂ ਵਿੱਛੜੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦਰਗਾਹ ਵਿਚ ਢੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲਦੀ।
ਕੋਈ ਜਾਇ ਮਿਲੈ ਤਿਨ ਨਿੰਦਕਾ ਮੁਹ ਫਿਕੇ ਥੁਕ ਥੁਕ ਮੁਹਿ ਪਾਹੀ ॥
ko-ee jaa-ay milai tin nindkaa muh fikay thuk thuk muhi paahee.
If someone associates with those slanderers, he also is held in disgrace.
ਜੋ ਕੋਈ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਸੰਗ ਭੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਭੀ ਮੂੰਹ ਫਿੱਕਾ ਤੇ ਮੂੰਹ ਤੇ ਲੋਕ ਮੂੰਹ ਤੇ ਫਿਟਕਾਂ ਪਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ l
ਜੋ ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਫਿਟਕੇ ਸੇ ਸਭ ਜਗਤਿ ਫਿਟਕੇ ਨਿਤ ਭੰਭਲ ਭੂਸੇ ਖਾਹੀ ॥
jo satgur fitkay say sabh jagat fitkay nit bhambal bhoosay khaahee.
Those who are cursed by the true Guru, are also cursed by the entire world, and therefore they always keep wandering around endlessly.
ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਵਲੋਂ ਵਿੱਛੜੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਵਿਚ ਭੀ ਫਿਟਕਾਰੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ ਤੇ ਸਦਾ ਡਕੋ-ਡੋਲੇ ਖਾਂਦੇ ਫਿਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਜਿਨ ਗੁਰੁ ਗੋਪਿਆ ਆਪਣਾ ਸੇ ਲੈਦੇ ਢਹਾ ਫਿਰਾਹੀ ॥
jin gur gopi-aa aapnaa say laiday dhahaa firaa-ee.
Those who slander their Guru, wander around loudly groaning.
ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਸਦਾ (ਮਾਨੋ) ਢਾਹਾਂ ਮਾਰਦੇ ਫਿਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਤਿਨ ਕੀ ਭੁਖ ਕਦੇ ਨ ਉਤਰੈ ਨਿਤ ਭੁਖਾ ਭੁਖ ਕੂਕਾਹੀ ॥
tin kee bhukh kaday na utrai nit bhukhaa bhukh kookaahee.
Their quest for worldly riches never departs, and they always keep crying for more.
ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਤ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨਾ ਕਦੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਉਤਰਦੀ, ਤੇ ਸਦਾ ਭੁੱਖ ਭੁੱਖ ਕੂਕਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਓਨਾ ਦਾ ਆਖਿਆ ਕੋ ਨਾ ਸੁਣੈ ਨਿਤ ਹਉਲੇ ਹਉਲਿ ਮਰਾਹੀ ॥
onaa daa aakhi-aa ko naa sunai nit ha-ulay ha-ul maraahee.
No one listens to what they say, therefore they always suffer in fear and anxiety.
ਕੋਈ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਦਾ ਇਤਬਾਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ (ਇਸ ਕਰਕੇ) ਉਹ ਸਦਾ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਫ਼ਿਕਰ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਖਪਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਵੇਖਿ ਨ ਸਕਨੀ ਓਨਾ ਅਗੈ ਪਿਛੈ ਥਾਉ ਨਾਹੀ ॥
satgur kee vadi-aa-ee vaykh na saknee onaa agai pichhai thaa-o naahee.
They cannot bear the glory of the true Guru, therefore they find no refuge here and hereafter.
ਉਹ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਮਹਿਮਾ ਜਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦੇ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਲੋਕ ਪਰਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕਾਣਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲਦਾ।
ਜੋ ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਮਾਰੇ ਤਿਨ ਜਾਇ ਮਿਲਹਿ ਰਹਦੀ ਖੁਹਦੀ ਸਭ ਪਤਿ ਗਵਾਹੀ ॥
jo satgur maaray tin jaa-ay mileh rahdee khuhdee sabh pat gavaahee.
Those who go out to meet with the ones who have been cursed by the true Guru, lose all their honor.
ਗੁਰੂ ਤੋਂ ਜੋ ਵਿੱਛੜੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਜਾ ਮਿਲਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਭੀ ਆਪਣੀ ਮਾੜੀ ਮੋਟੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਗਵਾ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
